yes i've got good neighbors. the muffins aren't anything superb, but they have fresh ground flour, and then homemade apricot butter in the centers. hopefully they will like them
i'm so over-touched today. i invented a phrase for zaya 'my kiss bucket is full, so full!'
then he asked sadly if my cuddle bucket was full. so he's cuddling near me. i don't know why i am so over-touched. hope the HW goes well
o, and lia woke up at 8, after going to sleep at 6.30 last night. unheard of. anyway, she is still tired and pale, but has more sparkle. so i feel better about waiting one more day.
I am glad to hear that Lia is having a much better morning....a nice long sleep is probably just what her body ordered hopefully that will help her kick this crud right out.
They sound delicious Rhys, seeing as I'm starving right now!
I hope Lia is okay, and Zaya, he is just a cutie, really.

zaya is just plain awesome. even when i can't handle being touched. i'm sure it has to do with the massive sneezing fits i had yesterday. the kind where you'd swear you could see your brains flying out with each sneeze.

Anyone watch the finale of The Amazing Race? I liked those two in the beginning, but by the end of the episode I thought if I heard 'bro' one more time I might have to kick one of the cats or something. Seriously.

TWG your sneeze description reminded me of an article I just read. A 33 yr old mom had a stroke after a sneeze like that and is in a wheelchair! She has 2 little kids at home :(
I am not up on any of the shows y'all watch. I watch older shows on Hulu sometimes.
Christy - I wish you wouldn't have said that! I have had allergies so bad this year it's crazy. I sneezed and coughed the other night until I threw up. Which is attractive. And TMI, I know.
Getting my new replacement washer and dryer (finally!) today.
Okay, I was so pissed at the Amazing Race finale. I wanted the cowboys to win SOOO bad, and I completely turned on the guys who one on account of the guy breaking line in front of the cowboy. It was a bad night for teh gayz on AR. The gay guy looked like a complete douche for breaking line, and the lesbian was a poor sport for losing. Chris, don't gay people know that they are each a representative of their entire tribe, such that their behavior must always be without error? Geez.
Are they the same brand? I hope they last longer for you this time.
I'm starving and I've got an hour before I'm meeting my best friend for lunch. Dang.

I'm having soup. Again. Grilled chicken and 84,000 kind of veggies, brown rice, and enough hot sauce to hurt my esophagus.

Robin, lunch is at my favorite deli-type place. Love the food, and will probably have a roasted chicken panini unless they have a special that strikes my fancy. Only problem with the place is the music is contemporary Christian, which I do not like. They have the best mac and cheese I've ever had, though, so that almost cancels out the bad music.
I lost weight following a diet similar to yours Robin, but you can't live on shakes and soup forever...most of it came back eventually.
Consistent exercise is key for me, but I don't wanna! I'm too tired most days.
Yeah, I think Jamie Foxx is an odd choice for a mentor. I guess he sings ai-ight, to quote Randy, but he's not who I'd think of when I hear "songs from the movies."
I watch AI for one season and got tired of it quickly. I can't keep up with series type shows, I can't watch them consistently enough to keep up. I mostly watch sports, weather, comedy like the Soup - mindless tv viewer here.
It is *pouring rain here now - yuk!
They are laying off teachers today.
Two of the 5 people in my department have been laid-off and I resigned in January so that leaves two people in my department next year. :(
It's overcast here and muggy. Texas weather is so crazy. It's hot then cold right now. Can't wait for summer when it'll just be butt hot for awhile. We had high winds last night, too just before the tornados hit OK.
Well it's good that it's not you needing that job Jill, but sad for your co-workers!

CHristy - it's not a good way for me to keep weight off, either, Christy, but if I don't see immediate results I lose interest, so it's a good way for me to get started.

SW I'm not sure how they will manage. This year we offered 12 different classes divided up among 5 teachers and had multiple sessions of some classes. How two teachers are going to handle that? I don't know. And if they cut classes where are the students going to go? We aren't losing students.

Jesus was as liberal as it was possible to be in his day. Loved it that he smashed it up at the Temple. Can you imagine the headlines these days if a teen did that now to a Church or Temple?
Didn't read that article, but I don't *think Jesus tore up the Temple when he was a teen. Not that an adult could get by with that these days, either, just sayin'.
No spoilers on Lost please - we are like 3 weeks behind, we watch with Ang and haven't been able to do it for a few weeks now - its making me crazy cause I know some good stuff is going on! I was also unhappy with the results of Amazing Race... the cowbows should have won, and the gay boy and the lesbians are giving us a bad imagine, jerks!! LOL Patti loves tonight cause of Glee - I couldn't get into that, so she watches and I skim online... I just don't get that show at all!! She calls herself a Gleek and gets all excited that the show is on - weird!! LOL American Idol we watch too - but I can take it or leave it - but I think Mama Sox is going to win it all - and even if she doesn't, she will have a great career as soon as her contract with idol is up - she has a great voice!
Its cold and rainy here... ugh!! I'm out of here for a while, my mom was busy Sunday so today we are taking her out somewhere, and then to dinner! See you all tonight - probably while Patti watches Glee on DVR when we get home!
Karen - I thought the cowboys should have won, too. They were dorky as all get-out, and give cowboys in general a geeky name () but they did play fair and square. The two brothers and the little crap they pulled at the airport (although it didn't really affect the outcome of the race) was just shitty. We were rolling when the red-head cowboy was messing with the brothers in that virtual game thing, shouting out commands and stuff like, stop,drop and roll, ballet mode, hop and a skip, etc. So funny!
Long story short - my neighbor pastures horses, and the horses just got here a couple days ago. Katie being Katie just had to go over and pet, so she was doing that, on our side of the fence. The neighbor yells at her, Hey! Go play in your own yard! Hurts her feelings, she comes running home, eyes huge, and crying, etc. My immediate reaction is to go over and give him a knuckle rub, but Kelly convinces me to calm down, points out maybe he was concerned about her getting hurt, etc.
Today, he shows up at my door. Old cowboy, hat in hand, twisting it and twisting it, says he thinks he was a "little gruff" yesterday to my daughter, and he'd like to pass on an apology and she's welcometo pet the horses through the fence, he just didn't want her getting hurt. :-)

Robin, I was referring to when Jesus drove out the moneylenders and animals and turned over tables at a temple. I think it is in Matthew. For that time, that was some serious stuff!

Kaytie - I know what you were referring to, but for some reason or another (and yes, I'm too lazy to go research it) I was thinking that happened after Jesus was an adult man. The time when he was left behind at the temple by his family because he was preaching or whatever was when he was a teen,no? I don't know. I certainly wouldn't want to get in a pissing match over it, because I don't know for sure.

Jesus was in his active ministerial role when he overturned tables in the temple. at 12, he was there teaching the rabbis things and learning.

we're on the same page. the visit to the temple in which Jesus did that, overturning the tables, was during the visit to passover. this was after the first miracle of turning water to wine. see john 2.

I am just disgusted. I just read that over 4 million gallons of oil have spilled from the oil rig explosion, and BP has not been able to contain it. The first cap for the leak didn't work, now they have to bring in another one. It is unreal to think that they didn't have a plan in place to stop it sooner.

And, (sorry SW), but Obama just approved offshore drilling on the East Coast. Um, no thanks.

Daisies, I need HELP & opinions & advice, and I need them on the quick.......
Chris had an appt at the brack coumadin clinic today. They came out (where I was in the lobby) and told me his ptinr was ONE. So I'm thinking they'll add back the 1mg they took away from his M/W/F dose. He comes out with the papers in his hand, I look and indeed they say, go back to 6mg on M/W/F and stay on the 5mg the rest of the week. I talked to the clinic mgr to make sure I understood the new dosage........then took him to starbies and then home.
After a few minutes at home just now, he says "so I hope that loading dose they gave me will sort out my ptinr"
Of course this is the first I've heard of this. I asked him what the aitch he was talking about & he said at the clinic they asked him if he had taken his regular coumadin dose today and he said no.......so they told him to SKIP the regular dose today and take the loading dose of 12mg there.
The only problem is that Chris was WRONG, he HAD already taken his 5mgs of coumadin at 10am today, and nobody at the clinic thought to double check or ASK ME, the person whom they *know dispenses all of his medications.
So NOW the boy has had 17mgs of coumadin in 4 hours. I am freaking *out.
I called right away and bitched at the clinic mgr, as I have mentioned to him that while Chris may look great and has made incredible strides, his brain is still severely injured and he, the mgr, should always always *always check with me, my husband, or my mom when it comes to any answers or info provided by Chris.
Now I'm scared to death Chris is going to sneeze and all of his blood will come flying out. I asked them if we should bring him to
the ER or even back to the coag clinic.......but they insisted he would be fine as long as I watched him carefully.
Any medical professionals (KayJ, you could not BE any higher in our Book of Awesome, but if you have an opinion?? I'd be so so grateful) who want to weigh in? I'm scared the clinic mgr is down playing this because they scared their error could really hurt my brother.
Sorry to rant but am very nervous about this........=(

Elisabeth - I have zero medical knowledge, but I'd say trust your gut and if you feel he needs to go back to the clinic or the ER or wherever, I'd take him. Is there an actual doctor at the clinic, not just the manager, that you can talk to? Or his regular doctor? Sorry,I know this is all way more complicated than I understand, just thinking out loud. always better safe than sorry, though, you know? (((hugs)))

Tired here, eye doctor appointment went iffy and we got shuttled to an even more specialized specialist, as well. They just aren't sure which surgery to do first. Apparently she's managed to get herself a very unique and tricky situation going. Anyway, I'm tired. Picked sushi up for dinner and yeah, did I mention I'm just tired.
Lots of stuff going on, lots to think about...I might just need a nap. ;-)
I"m so excited about TV tonight that I'm having trouble concentrating at work. My best friend always comes over to watch Lost with me, and lately, American Idol, and she brings me my favorite Thai food. Lordy, I love it when somebody brings me food.

Elisabeth, I'm not a medical *anything, but my uncle had a coumadin overdose and the outcome was dire. He's alive, but practically a vegetable. I would be worried too.
