EL: She's still there, no baby birds yet. But the snow has almost all melted off and the branches are not as droopy. Her next took a beating though, it looks a little rough. But, there she sits, patiently waiting, so I guess it's OK with her.
Good Morning Daiyland. Miss me! ::dusting the dirt off and emerging from the hidey hole:: Do you mind if I pull up my lawn chair and crack a Schlitz?
First and foremost, I would like to apologize if my words have offended ANYONE. It was not my intent and I will be more mindful of my words.
As Shannon so gracefully said, this too is my outlet. I have met some really wonderful ladies here and at other forums. This is my escape from the things that weigh heavy on my mind on a daily basis.
It's quite apparent that people have gotten hurt by words, websites, and the internet in general. I am truly sorry if that has happened to you just like I am truly sorry that it has happened to me. I think it's time to stop the tit for tat, you killed my dog...I'll kill your cat.
So I think it's time we all just pulled up a lawn chair, adjust our tube tops, crack a Schlitz and chat.
Sandy-Not until noon. I have a strict "no beer and Cheetos" rule until noon. It's only 10:20 here. Drat!
Shannon-I hope we're in the clear! If it snows again, I'll cry. I like the snow, but summer vacation starts 2 weeks from today, so it's time for the snow to go away. I do love snow though. I could totally like in Alaska.
Tara, I may be wrong, but I'm more worried that Crystal may not make the finale than that Lee wouldn't. My reasoning is that the tweenagers who do the most voting probably like the cute guys best. Part of me isn't that worried, though, because the Big Mike vote should go to Crystal and/or Lee, and not to blonde guy. Because he doesn't have much substance, really. So I really think we will get the final two we deserve.
Too early for Schlitz, but I could totally down a Miller Lite right now!
Tara - We have a robin's nest in our arbor right now. I have some netting on the top of the arbor for clematis to climb, and she had built nest #1 half on a board, half on drooping netting. So she made nest #2 right on a board, but I made my husband attach another piece of netting tightly under both nests no neither nest or babies will fall out.
She (momma bird) was angry at first for getting chased out for a bit, but now she's over it. We have a "don't slam the gate" sign to let everyone know so they don't startle her.
SW - Reiki is a Japanese laying on hands healing/relaxation method. They are starting to use it around here a lot with cancer patients. I've had a few treatments and it's really amazing.
Sounds interesting, Margaret. In charismatic Christian churches, "laying on hands" means something else entirely. Healing straight from the big dude in the sky. Or maybe that is the same thing. ::shrugging::
SW - last year a chickadee baby fell out of the birdhouse, because they have 5 babies squished in there. I happened to find him behind a flower pot under the birdhouse. It was weak, but moving around so I took it in and fed it soggy dog food. I put him in a 4 inch flower container with a towel, then wrapped it up real cozy over night, took it to work the next day and it really gained it's strength back.
So after work I put him *back in the bird house and check obsessively to make sure he didn't get kicked out again. Happy to say, he they all successfully made it out of the bird house!
I was skeptical the first time I went SW but it's wonderful. The person doesn't actually lay their hands on you - it's over you. Really amazing. No speaking in tongues or snakes either :)
"I was skeptical the first time I went SW but it's wonderful. The person doesn't actually lay their hands on you - it's over you. Really amazing. No speaking in tongues or snakes either :)"
Margaret - Reiki is fascinating to me. Then again, all philosophies aside, there is such healing power in touch or a hug (and no pervie comments). Margaret knows what I mean.
Sandy! Great to see you (and your cooler)!
Elisabeth - thank you for your 2 cents. And for the belly laugh of adding mild incontinence to your list of accomplishments!
Robin - dang girl, were we watching the same show? I missed the half hard on in balloon pants part! Guess I need to wear my glasses when I watch TV now LOL!
The chart linked here is an interesting and encouraging capture of how peoples' views of gay rights varies by age and state. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/05/13/laura-bush-gay-marriage-w_n_574859.html
I've always thought that time will be the big equalizer when it comes to gay rights. This bears that view out.
But dang, I'm used to Alabama being the least progressive state in pretty much every respect, but this too? Dang.
Deb: Sorry about your "departure" this morning, but I'll be happy to see you here. :o) Thanks for the advice on the bird. Mr. Tara said he'd go check out the next this afternoon and see if there was anything he could do to make it more secure. It looks much better now that the branches have let up.
SW: Oh, good idea on next week. I'll vote my booty off for Crystal, she definitely deserves to be there. Even though I don't care for Michael, I was really surprised he went before Casey. Casey is just kinda weird and awkward, but damn can he play that guitar.
Okay... I have to ask because I am clueless, I know no suprise. Is SIP sitll up? One day I went to check in and it stated that it was an invite blog only... so I went back to day dreaming about buying a condo and allowed that to consume my life (and still is). I even checked my home email to see if anything was sent to me - I did not see anything.
Odd but whatever. I never really get in drama. I do not have the attention span to keep track of it all.
and more randomness... I got a dog last week. He is a cocker and I named him Oliver.
Just Ro - I think it's still there, although yet more people have been banned or left. Right before I got banned she went into a frenzy and wiped out all people who hadn't posted in some time, so you were probably a casualty at that time.
Here's what's for dinner here tonight. New recipe called Longboy Bacon Cheeseburger. Hamburger, cheese, chopped onion and bell pepper, barbecue sauce, egg, oatmeal or bread crumbs, and some seasonings. Spread on halved french bread and bake until meat is done, 45 minutes. Top with crumbled cooked bacon and cheddar cheese and heat until cheese is melted. Yum!
With fruit salad and some kind of oreo dessert mess the kids picked out.
Just wondering - that recipe calls for quick oats, which I don't have, I have old-fashioned. Toss them in a ziplock and run the rolling pin over them a bit and call it good?
Back from the doctor and I have some upsetting news. Sometime in the past week baby girl turned herself breech. She still have enough fluid to turn her self back and will have another sono next week to see where she is at.
Everyone is welcome! The only real rules here are no spamming shit and no posting personal addresses, phone numbers or other similar info. I don't need that kind of stress. That's it, although it could change if someone gets creative or something. If you don't like what is said here, you can: 1) Say so; 2) Hold it in and stew on it; 3. Address it privately to the person who said it; 4) Snark about it to your friends; 5) Leave. Don't bother me with it, I don't care and I won't get involved. I might, however, talk about you behind your back or post your email/message to me on here. *grins*
Them's the rules...all of them.
Have fun!

ME!!
DAMMIT! My rant is at the bottom of the last post. Boo. I guess that's the way it was meant to be.
Good afternoon. I think I have caught some of the nesting from the preggo girls. I am a housecleaning crazy today.
Actually, the pollen that is *everywhere needs to go!
Tara- How are the birdies?
For the record? Shannon has bullied me. Lots.
Jk. Well said lady! ::bows::
Morning Creepy! how is Regina today? :o)
EL: She's still there, no baby birds yet. But the snow has almost all melted off and the branches are not as droopy. Her next took a beating though, it looks a little rough. But, there she sits, patiently waiting, so I guess it's OK with her.
Shannon is the biggest bully of all.
Tara. Regina has left the building, but she was good while she lasted. :)
How is everyone here doing today?
Yes, she was.
Sandy's back and she brought snacks!
This cold wet weather is zapping my energy.

Hi Sandy!
Hi Tara how are you? Schiltz and cheetos?
Hello everyone sneaking in....in not such sneaky ways :)
Tara I am glad that your birds seem to be fairing OK. I guess this means we dont have to have the great next rescue of 2010 just yet.
Hi Shannon!
Sandy-Not until noon. I have a strict "no beer and Cheetos" rule until noon. It's only 10:20 here. Drat!

::points::: Hey! Look! A bird!!
::swipes one of Sandy's Schlitz:::
Tara - I didn't realize it snowed in Yemen this time of year :)
I know Sandy doesn't like me - she never brings smartfood popcorn :(
It does Margaret. It's that Global Warming, you know!
Yummmm! Smartfood Popcorn. I'll go get you some if you share with me.
Morning RiM!
Does anyone here Reiki?
Morning Sandy
Isnt it just a tad early for Schlitz?
Sandy! Good to see you! Can I have a cheeto?

Margaret, I've never even heard of Reiki.
It's 12:00 somewhere! lol ::making popcorn for Margaret::
HAHAHAHA you can have that Sandy....but it isnt even 10 here yet :)
Should I make us some brownies? They will have to be without nuts if that's okay. {{whispers}} I can't eat anything with nuts or seeds.
LOL re 12:00 somewhere! And some people think we're white trash! Imagine that!
Are you allergic, Sandy?
Too early for Schlitz, but I could totally down a Miller Lite right now!
Tara - We have a robin's nest in our arbor right now. I have some netting on the top of the arbor for clematis to climb, and she had built nest #1 half on a board, half on drooping netting. No nut reactions please!!!
I make some really yummy mint/chocolate chip cookies. They go well with anything.
I feel like I am allergic to everything that grows outside today. off to find another kleenex.
Awww, Deb, that's sweet! You folks are good bird caretakers!
Ro do you know how much I love you right now??? I love mint chocolate chip cookies :)
Who the hell am I kidding I love cookies :)
Ro! Glad to see you around.

Hey J_ro! How have you been?
SW - last year a chickadee baby fell out of the birdhouse, because they have 5 babies squished in there. I happened to find him behind a flower pot under the birdhouse. *I did consult with our local wild bird rescue
Oh, Deb! What a happy story! I like chickadees.
::whispers:: I have a little digestive problem when it comes to nuts and seeds. ::looks around:: Diverticulitis.
I'm out for a bit. I'll leave the cooler here. There's a variety of beverages...just help yourself.
I was skeptical the first time I went SW but it's wonderful. The person doesn't actually lay their hands on you - it's over you. Really amazing. No speaking in tongues or snakes either :)
'Afternoon, all!
Catching up...Deb, I'm sorry how things went. You, too, Roberta, but it's awfully nice seeing you again. And Sandy, too! It's a good day.
Also, not all turtles breathe through their butts. Only some. Someone corrected me on that and in the interest of fairness, I'm sharing. :-)
"I was skeptical the first time I went SW but it's wonderful. The person doesn't actually lay their hands on you - it's over you. Really amazing. No speaking in tongues or snakes either :)"
I'd feel so out of place without those things...
Deb - Welcome to Daisy :-D
Hello J Ro!
I've been to a church where people spoke in tongues, spoke prophesies, and danced. To say it freaked me out is an understatement.
<<--missed the half hard too, and for some reason finds typing "half hard" embarrassing ::blushing::
SW - At least it did not give you the vapors :-D
I'm teasing ya. Made me blush, too.
I'm assuming that since Corinne has not been around things are not going well with her grandmother :(

I got a dog last week.
He is a cocker and I named him Oliver.
Just Roberta - Congrats on your new dog! Cockers are so pretty. I like the name, too.
Just Ro - I think it's still there, although yet more people have been banned or left. Right before I got banned she went into a frenzy and wiped out all people who hadn't posted in some time, so you were probably a casualty at that time.
Congrats on your pooch! I had a cat named Oliver.
Roberta - your blog is SO funny!
I think anyone here who did like drama has now been cured.
Okay, back to important business.
Here's what's for dinner here tonight. New recipe called Longboy Bacon Cheeseburger. RiM - Thank you! I have some hamburger I was thawing out and was wondering what to do with it. I'll try that!
That sounds delicious, RiM! What time can I come over?
Kaytie - here's the actual recipe:
http://thepioneerwoman.com/tasty-kitchen/recipes/main-courses/longboy-bacon-cheeseburger/
Tara -- dinner will be at 6:30. Please come early so you can help chop strawberries.
Just wondering - that recipe calls for quick oats, which I don't have, I have old-fashioned. Toss them in a ziplock and run the rolling pin over them a bit and call it good?
RiM, I don't know. I would probably put them in the blender and pulverize. Or use bread or crackers crumbs.
:::just chatting merrily to myself here:::
Just put a new batch of yogurt on. Last batch did not turn out and I couldn't figure out why. I only used a quart of milk, not a half gallon. Doh!
RF - I was kind of thinking of cracker crumbs instead, anyway. I hate how the little flecks of oatmeal look ...
@@ since I won't be eating any of it, anyway.
Mulie, are you here? Greyson is on Ellen today!
RiM: I'll be there! I don't mind chopping strawberries at all. :o)
Don't you love when someone from the bank calls to bitch at you about something being late and they're wrong?
I do. I love that.
Robin, that recipe sounds great! I would use old fashioned, no problem. I like the chewy texture though.
I'll post a review and the recipe if it turns out as good as it sounds!
Back from the doctor and I have some upsetting news. Sometime in the past week baby girl turned herself breech. She still have enough fluid to turn her self back and will have another sono next week to see where she is at.
Boo Mulie :(
Oh, snap! Twilight people on Oprah!
I really like that Robert Pattinson.
Is this thing on?
Mulie you are on the wrong post!
