I admit, I love them. I'd have them in my garden too, but let's be real...they look like Britney Spears' toenails, what with the chipped hot pink paint. That's good enough to call white trash to me, although I think they ride the fence. :-) Anyone want to care to guess who they belong to? Here's a clue...this wasn't taken in the White House Rose Garden.

My head is spinning with the Lost talk from last night. Not a watcher. Not following a snip of the discussion. Sounds like it was a major fail. Six.Year.Fail?
LOST - the 2 hour introduction was two idiots sitting there patting their backs on what a great show they created - um, your ending sucked!
Hi all!
Popping in for a few minutes while I take a break from studying philosophy.
I'm sorry the Lost finale sucked.
I'm curious to hear what SW has to say about it because it sounds as though she liked it! :)
I only ever watched the first season of Lost but I remember clearly that everyone was already saying it was the purgatory. I thought maybe they'd surprise us.
AP, Mulie & Sandy - What kind of end did you expect? :)
I have a question for all TV watchers here.
What is your favorite series finale ever?
Mine is probably "Six feet under". That one did *not* disappoint!
I also liked the Friends ending but that's probably because it was one of my favorite tv show. Every time I watch it, I cry like a baby.
Gilmore Girls was good too.
I'm Lost in Lost talk - missed the whole series.
Christy - that was your blind? That is a classic!
Hmmm...hot pink deer and White House...perhaps the dearies are resting by a minnow pond?
Morning ladies.
After sleeping on it and reading some articles on it, the LOST ending isn't as bad as I initially thought. I'm going to rewatch the series.
My favorite finale is Friends. Ross and Rachel together like they should be.
I loved Six Feet Under and thought their ending was brilliant. I also liked the way Roseanne ended.
Good morning Daisies!
I never could get into Lost.
Confession? I watched Friends every week, every one of them, plus reruns.
I did *not watch the finale! I didn't want to be disappointed. Does that make sense? I was kind of bummed with the Seinfeld finale, I didn't the same for Friends.
Drizzly, foggy morning here today. I hope everyone is have a good day so far!
I haven't read any of the online Lost theories, but sometime between last night and this morning, I think the Island might have been real stuff and the alternate ending was purgatory. When they all finally died, they showed up all together on the flight. Hence, Jack and Juliette together and having a son. They were there a long time together. I don't know. That would make the ending suck less for me if that were the case.
Morning all!
No small talk: on to Lost. I haven’t read your comments yet, but here’s why I’m satisfied with it. First, because I went in wanting to get closure for the characters I’ve known and loved for six years. I wasn’t expecting all of the answers, because, come on, it’s Lost. We knew we weren’t getting all the answers. We did get a lot of answers. But more than that, we got a love fest of all of our favorite characters getting a bit of happiness and/or redemption. I thought it was a lovely and fitting end.
Now I’ll read your comments and see if I can contribute anything. (pause)
Major spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.
AP, the ending took us back to the beginning. Jack died in the same spot where he first awoke on the island. And after he woke on the island, the dog was the first thing he encountered. That time the dog ran off. This time the dog stayed with him. I thought it was incredibly poignant and am tearing up just thinking about it.
I can’t explain the hieroglyphics to you. I assume some ancient civilization, maybe the one that harnessed the forces on the island in the first place, made them and the giant statue. Can’t explain Walt. Re Jin’s accent, he had years to learn English while he was working with the Dharma initiative. I assume that Kate changed clothes, and given the circumstances of what the church turned out to be, I wouldn’t consider a change of clothing to be the biggest mystery.
I don’t believe the ending was a copout. The writers said that the islanders weren’t dead and the island wasn’t the afterlife. That is true, by my understanding of what we saw. The “flash sideways” sequences were of an afterlife, or of a way station after life. But what happened on the island was real.
I’m really surprised by your negative comments. Maybe I’m just a weepy sap.
The island was not purgatory.
Ah, and Mulie sees the light! :-) Glad that you are reconsidering too, Jill.
Coming over to my side, AP? ;-)
So, I have my head on straight and finally got the ending correct (after I stopped cussing out the creators/writers).
One more thought, AP. If you were judging Lost with a score card checking off answers to your questions getting answered, then maybe you're right and the finale was a disappointment. But I was judging it by how it made me feel. And it made me feel happy, wistful, sad, emotionally full, and the like. I can't ask for more out of a TV show than that.
I can't really dislike it since I didn't watch it faithfully and my brain is a bit small for flashing forward, backwards and sideways. I'm better suited for simple dramas :)
Mulie - so what's the correct ending - what's the LOST synopsis Daisy style?
Lost Synopsis:
They survived the crash. All that crap happened, but as they started dying, they went to the flash sideways. Flash sideways was a place they created to "find" each other in the afterlife. They all found each other. The End.
Good synopsis, Mulie.
RiM - Loved your bird in the stove pipe story from yesterday - that little guy was desperate!
Frying up 7 lbs of hamburger. I fell like I'm channeling Ma Dugger.
fell=feel
What are you going to do with it after you fry it up, Mulie? That's a lot of hamburger helper.
I'm going to freeze it for tacos, sauce, dirty rice, etc. I have to go very easy on the dairy while breastfeeding, so I need to have other protein sources available with little work.
I was feeling better last night, but now I want to ram my face into a wall. Repeatedly.
Mulie - sounds like you could make a great vat of spaghetti sauce too!
Morning all. Not a Lostie, so no contribution here. I have a few photos I should contribute to our little White Trash Carnival, though. :)
How is everyone doing?
I would if I didn't want to curl up in front of freshly conditioned air.
Mulie - Face itching and sinuses clogged again?
with as bad as my nose and face is itching right now, Taiya, you have my eternal sympathies!
Taiya - I am so bummed to see you :-D And good morning!
Robin - did you ever get that horse into the trailer?
BJ - Miss you. I'm working the next three nights - was hoping you'd stop by!
Hi Kaytie! I know Mulie. I am going for broke and getting steroids today. I can't stand it anymore. The heat aggravates it.
My nose doesn't itch, and I am not sneezing, though, so that's something. When i sneeze I have to pee every 2 seconds.
I must somehow have an iron bladder this pregnancy! Very little leakage and I have been sleeping through the night without having to pee!
Oh, man, share that ability, Mulie! I am up at least every hour! haha. Must be I got all of that.
Taiya and Mulie - Barefoot Foodie had a post regarding gyne exam. It is hilarious.
What is barefoot foodie?
Taiya- Barefoot Foodie is a blog - she's crass and funny as hell. I'm looking to see if I can find the link.
Hi RiM! Cool. I haven't heard of her.
Here's the link, Taiya. I'm not sure what the most recent post is all about -- look down in the archives for some very funny stuff.
http://barefootfoodie.com/
and now my effing eye is watering.
Also,I have a new blog post up with pictures of the bird rescue. The excitement never ends.
Have you taken anythign for it, Mulie? Benadryl, Claritin, Zyrtec?
I have been taking a double dose of Claritin and some other stuff.
RiM - aw, glad you documented the rescue, and happy he was safe! Wow, looking at that beak, no wonder he pecked a hole through the metal pipe!
Kaytie -- had all four girls all weekend, so we didn't go get the horse. I am supposed to meet the lady who is selling him sometime today to get him. I am, putting it *very mildly, grouchy enough to kick a kitten today, so I hope it goes well...
Muie- and they are that bad?! Yikes! Sorry. :(
Robin - :::ducking so I don't get kicked::: Maybe go for the horse tomorrow? Sorry your morning is a grouchy one.
Margaret - Six feet under's end was the most brilliant finale ever! :-D
Deb - I understand you not watching the Friends' finale at the time. I think you should try it now. It wasn't perfect but it was very moving. And, like Jill said, Rachel and Ross together, at last? Was just what I aksed out of this finale.
If you do watch it, I'm sure it'll make you cry. Especially the very end.
I'm still hoping there'll be a Friends' reunion someday ;-)
SW - http://www.tvsquad.com/2010/05/24/lost-the-end-recap-series-finale/
It sounds like you would agree with what was said in that "article". WDYT?
Mulie - When is your due date, again?
Taiya - Let's hope today's the day!
Kaytie & RiM - I love reading Barefoot foodie. I don't know what the latest post is about, though.
I would rather get him tomorrow, but to add insult to injury I have to go on the 3rd grade field trip tomorrow. It will be okay.
I have a cat you can kick, RiM. Neighbors just have cats and let them run wild. We have one that has been under or on our porch the last few days. If I see it again I am capturing it and giving it to animal control. It left a dead bird in my yard yesterday. R almost got to it before me (since I waddle and she runs).
Robin - Yowza! That would freak me out (as in Bodega Bay "Birds" freaky) to have a bird show up like that! Nice rescue, though :-D
Is that a Lopi stove? We have two. I am thinking of firing one up - 62 degrees in the house.
My due date is June 4th, but my doc is talking about inducing me on the 31st. I am no martyr, like Taiya, so I will go for the induction!
Mulie - Oooh, that's close! I bet you must be excited!
<----does not like cats who are allowed to wander outdoors and pee in my garden and leave dead things.
Mulie - 31st is a holiday, I'd wait for full staff!
Kaytie - It's a Blaze King, and I love it. It's drafted perfectly, the way the door opens has a little lip on it so there isn't a mess around the door and on the floor. The stove is probably 20 years old or so and that pipe has probably never been replaced, so it's time.
That's the second bird we've had come down the chimney that way.
I am going to crank the electric heat for a few minutes to get the chill off the house. I don't know what the temp is in here, but it's chilly.
Me neither, Deb. It really bugs me. If you live in a city/town you should keep your cats as house cats. It's just not cool to make neighbors (especially those of us who don't like them) have to deal with your stupid cats. This one keeps crapping under my porch and last night it was howling in my screen door. Not a good plan, Kitty.
Robin - My condolences.
I woke up still aggravated with Lost. I've been doing some reading, too, and I'm still disappointed. Last night on Kimmel Matthew Fox basically said that the entire show was about Jack's experience in purgatory so I'm thinking he ought to know and that does seem to suit what finally happened. That said, I think the difference between me and SW is that I'm a painfully concrete thinker. In my head, something can't end unless all the T's are crossed, I's dotted, loose ends tied up. Then, when all that is done, you can toss in some emotion and I'm fine with it being all feel good-y. But to judge something by how it made me feel just isn't how my brain works. Or maybe it does...it made me feel cheated and frustrated. :-P I think J.J. Abrams had a ending plan when it started and when he left, he took it with him. That's why we had all this stuff like the Dharma Initiative that seemed so important at one time and then fizzled in the end. I'm going to just try to not think about it today.
And Kaytie, good guess. :-)
So I take it you didn't like the ending to The Sopranos either AP.
Robin - My comment showed so late - condolences were for field trip, not your type of stove!
Robin, that's wild with the bird! It was so sweet how careful Kelly was being with it. :-)
Favorite TV show ending? Hmmm. I think M*A*S*H.
I need to call the doc today and find out if he still wants to induce the 31st. My mom is coming and I'd rather not wait until my appt Thursday to find out.
AP - Doing the White Trash Dance. I knew it. somebody's busted :-D
Jill - Happy First Monday!
I never watched The Sopranos, Jill. I've never even seen a single episode. Lost was the first series I've been interested in in many years - I typically stick with reality TV and news/"educational" stuff.
I've never seen the Sopranos. I should put that on my Netflix list. I think once I'm done with Grey's, I'm going to either do Private Practice or take back up with Damages.
And while I don't think concrete on all things, I am with AP in that I need the ending to be ... an *end. With everything answered, whether I like the answers or not. I didn't watch Lost past the second season, though, so obviously didn't watch the finale.
Jill - The ending of The Sopranos bored me to death. It was a great show but the ending? Very disappointing. I actually fell asleep the first time I watched it.
Did you enjoy it?
If you do then you might go before me, Mulie. I am feeling like she is going to stay in here forever. Stupid puppps. I never had this "I want to give birth NOW" thing with DD. I was just fine until she was ready. Same as I was with Eeq until I started getting itchy. Puts me in a bad mood. :(
Mulie - I don't do babies, but trust me, wait until AFTER the holiday.
AP - M*A*S*H* was wonderful too, you're right!
BTW, I only ever started watching M*A*S*H* because my dad loved that series and when he saw the dvds in store he *had to buy them. I <3 that show so much.
RiM- Kelly must be a nice guy. :) Sweet the way he handled the bird.
I am off to do something for the day. Not sure what. Have a good day, Daisies!
Just called the docs office and left a message for his nurse regarding next Monday's possible induction. They said he is in Labor and Delivery every Monday, so he probably will still want to do it then. Which is fine by me (as long as my body seems mostly ready).
AP- You might like Damages for a series. It's a twisty litle thing.
Taiya - he's okay. I'm going to keep him around, anyway. ;-)
M*A*S*H* reruns are on the TV Land channel. I love them too!
See you (maybe if your not in labor) later Taiya! Do some jumping jacks, or something.
Isn't today the 24 series finale? Anyone going to watch that?
Kay thanks. I'm actually at the school cleaning my room and turning in keys and such.
AP it was a weird ending. It just stopped.
I never got into 24.
True Blood starts up soon!
Geez, I'm such a tv junkie.
I've never had the urge to "get it over with" either, Taiya! I feel guilty!
Do you think L&D is the same way, Kaytie? It's is a small-ish teaching hospital.
Corinne - I haven't watched that, either, although I have friends who love it.
I have I think four episodes of Happy Town recorded. Anyone watching? Is it worth watching?
Jill - how was graduation? are you just in school today, then done?
RiM- it was canceled so I guess it wasn't that great.
Deb- today and tomorrow. They do a faculty luncheon tomorrow. Graduation was nice and quick.
Jill -- LOL! I guess I'll just wipe it off my DVR then. No point.
Blogger is being bizarre. I am missing comments.
Yawn. Got up early to get chores done and have to work tonight.
Have a good day everyone!
RiM - I have never watched Happy Town. I never really got into "24" either but M. (my ex) was really, really into it and we used to watch together. It's okay, just not my favorite.
Of course, my favorite tv series right now are "House" and "The Big Bang Theory". Tonight's the season finale of TBBT.
Also, I'm very curious to know why Thirteen is asking for some time off from Princeton Plainsboro.
Listen to Kaytie about the holiday and avoid it. My midwife randomly picked a day for induction, not realizing it was Labor Day. I realized later, thought it was funny but never had a concern. I showed up and there was a skeleton staff, no one wanted to be there and it was just all very unpleasant.
They canceled Happy Town? What the hell? We were really liking it!
Corinne- You are my bff (best foreign friend!), but I *have to disagree with you on Six Feel Under finale. I have never been able to watch it again, because I was so mad. *nothing in the whole series was easy and compartmentalized. It was nice to be able to see how their lives ended up, but I don't think it was true to how the other episodes were written. Although maybe it was me. If they had left some 'mystery' it wouldn't have felt so 'final'. And if you don't have Sia's "breathe me" on your ipod, I will *really have to rethink you being my bff!!!
I really liked the ending of the Sopranos. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for something to happen. And when nothing did, I laughed my ass off. Clearly I'm easier to please than some of the picky daisies here though! :-)
I remember reading about members of Journey who watched the Sopranos finale together. They knew their song would be in the finale, because they gave their permission, but they were blown away by the prominent positioning of it. That was very cool.
AP, you like reality TV and educational stuff? Then no wonder you couldn't be satisfied with Lost!
Robin, loved the bird rescue pics and story! And Wow! At the guns on your guy! ;-)
More importantly, SW, what are you going to do on Lost night now?
SW - ::blushes::
That bird would have freaked me out!
SW - your comment made me go back to check out Kelly's guns...
So, who here would let their 13 year old climb Mt. Everest?
Deb- Not me, to the Everest question. Why?
Deb- it depends on the day!
I'd have let my 13 year old climb Mt. Everest if he was with experienced adults I trusted. I figure there's danger in anything, though, and have always sort of parented on that premise. Actually, I wish my 18 year old had that much initiative. *sighs*
I have to change my answer to the same as EL's.
after this weekend, I'd probably let a 9yo climb it. Alone. In shorts. :-D I kid, I kid, to all you public-blog-lurking-with-poor-reading-comprehension-skills folks out there.
Robin, we're on season 4 or 5 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which we've been watching while Lost was away. So we'll go back to that til it's done. Then probably start with Angel, which I've never watched.
By the way, the wild mushroom enchiladas were vile. Viler than daisies even. Yuck.
Mild mushroom enchiladas were vile? I can't wrap my mind around that.
Angel and Buffy would lose me. I don't get that stuff.
Not a parent, but no way on the Everest thing. AP, have you seen the movies/documentaries about the disasters that happen there? No way.
Erin - LOL!
RiM - an American 13 year old just completed his climb on Saturday (youngest ever to make the climb).
I just think that is a *bit young, but I was curious what others thought.
Robin, trust me. They sucked. The only cheese in the enchiladas was feta. And enchiladas really need different cheese, IMHO, if not lots of meat, which I prefer.
I would think if you are climbing something like Everest, you'd be with experienced climbers, and be experience yourself. But even the most experience climbers die. But I guess you could die doing just about anything, right?
But as a parent, I'm not sure I could live with myself if something happened doing something like that, i don't know.
SW - I had high hopes for those enchiladas too. Too bad.
I don't think my brain can put "enchiladas" and "feta" together, anyway.
"But I guess you could die doing just about anything, right?
But as a parent, I'm not sure I could live with myself if something happened doing something like that, i don't know."
I guess the way I look at it, if I'm going to lose my kid to an accident, I'd rather it be the result of doing something wonderful like climbing Mt. Everest than in a car on the way to the grocery store.
If you've been to Everest at 13 then what? I don't know - it just seems awful young for something like that. However, when I was pregnant with Hannah a woman told me to always remember that her life is not about me. So, I guess I'm not sure what I would do if the opportunity was there.
SW - I was really mad about the Sopranos' ending because that show was *so great. I thought something *big would happen in the finale and when nothing did, well, that pissed me off. ;-D
Erin - You're safe, I do have Sia's "Breathe me" on my Ipod! ;-D
I agree with you that *nothing in that series was easy and compartimentalized and that the way the finale was written was very different. But I *loved that it was a real end. I did not wonder about the characters afterwards because I knew the whole story, kwim?
For example, I loved "Gilmore Girls" and the ending was great but, from time to time, I wonder what would have happened with Lorelai & Luke, where Rory would be now, whether she and Logan would have reconciled, if the show had been going on. KWIM?
Deb - 13 is *way too young to climb the Everest, IMO!
That makes me think of that Australian girl who sailed around the globe for 6 months. 16 year-olds should be in school, studying. They have their entire lives to accomplish these kind of dreams.
Off to read RiM's blog.
In case you missed it on 60 Minutes, this is what Andy Rooney thinks about women over 50.
"As I grow in age, I value women over 50 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:
A woman over 50 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, 'What are you thinking?' She doesn't care what you think.
If a woman over 50 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting.
Women over 50 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get away with it.
Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.
Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 50.
Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 50 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.
Older women are forthright and honest.. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk or if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.
Yes, we praise women over 50 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 50, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize.
For all those men who say, 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?' Here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!"
Well, for the love of pete. Now there's a woodpecker in the chimney/stove. I'm a little bit askeered of it. It fell into the actual stove part, so I shut the damper and just cracked the door so he can breathe and Kelly can deal with him when he gets home. That's a *very long beak, and it's designed for tearing down trees, so ... yeah. Not going there.
Well, that didn't work. The damper must be higher up in the chimney.
CK, I'm not a big Andy Rooney fan, but I liked that a lot!
Robin, LOL re the woodpecker. Kelly and his big guns will rescue you! ::swoon::
Who's planning on watching the new season of the Bachelorette? Jill? Anyone?
By the time Kelly gets home that woodpecker will have pecked my eyes out and made short work of the couch and dining room table. He's a mean one!
"A woman over 50 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, 'What are you thinking?' She doesn't care what you think."
I like this...it's also true for under 50. ;-)
SW, did you say you made an ancho cream sauce? Do you have a recipe to share? And yes, I love reality and more "educational" TV. I probably love the History Channel more than Bravo or The Food Network. Fictional TV just isn't my cup of tea, which is why it was odd for me to get sucked into Lost.
Oh, let him out, Robin! He won't hurt you! What if he hurts his beak pecking at the stove? ::worrying::
Can you hold a small box over the opening and trap him that way, without touching him?
SW I don't watch the bachelorette. I'm sure somewon else is though ;)
AP, the cream sauce was for the enchiladas that I didn't like. I'm happy to share the recipe, but use it at your own risk. The sauce was just okay, for me. I'll e-mail it to you.
Young women do want to know what guys are thinking, in my experience. They are too young to realize that guys aren't thinking about anything substantive, generally speaking.
Jill, LOL! Did you get your office cleaned out? Are you done completely?
SW - his beak is made for destroying, that metal isn't going to hurt him. I was more willing to help him before I held out the stove poker just to see what he would do and he kind of went apeshit at it. He's freaked out and scared and I don't know what to do with him.
Sorry, Robin, but the woodpecker attacking the poker while you look on, horrified, is a funny mental picture. LOL
I have some more things to haul out to my car, but I'm pretty much cleaned up. I have to stay here until 4 so I'm watching Rachel Ray and clipping coupons.
Do you think you'll get weepy this afternoon, Jill? Or are you feeling tough about the final goodbye.
We all already got weepy over lunch.
Tomorrow is the final goodbye. I might get a little sad. I really liked my department.
The woodpecker has been saved! With no pecking casualties.
Yay Robin! Do tell!
The woodpecker has been saved! With no pecking casualties!
Lol, she didn't mean to say it again.
We have a woodpecker that comes and pecks on our gutters - right over our bedroom window. I love birds but I'd really like to kill that thing. That and the fox that stands outside our bedroom window at night and screams. It sounds like a woman being murdered. I need to reload my bb gun pistol.
Hi Ladies!
Been a busy weekend. Popping in to check on y'all.
HATED Lost last night. Really annoyed that I wasted 2.5 hours for that. Asshats.
How is everyone?
No induction on the 31st! Not sure what day now.
Hi Tara!
Margaret - I am not fond of woodpeckers *at all, but it seems to be illegal to kill them. So they say ...
And yes, the fox. You need a bb gun. I once shot at a coyote out of my bathroom window with a .22, but one thing I am *not famous for is my eye/hand coordination.
Not 50, yet, but Rooney got it right :-D
Robin - Woodpeckers are annoying. Ours will drum for hours on the flag pole. Glad you got that thing out of your stove.
:::taps mic::: Helloo???? Anyone here? This thing working?
I'm here, Robin. Avoiding work, as usual. Hi Tara! I loved Lost!
Did I tell you all no induction on the 31st? I'll find out later this week what the doc says.
And I see my other post now. Blogger is effing with me.
I'm here, too. Hey, Tara!
Juts doing some laundry and sitting out back planning the re-do.
Mulie -- Ack to no induction. HOpefully you'll know something soon!
I would hope you are planning to plant some lovely smelling flowers, AP. So it is totally fixed, right? What about your leaky washer?
Why no induction, Mulie?
My two doors down neighbor has a bantam rooster. Apparently they had 6 hens that were supposed to be his 'friends. He....ahem...humped them to death. Now he cries all.day.long. I kinda want to shoot him.
Mulie, the stink is gone, as of today! And yep, the leaky washer is fixed, too. I'm livin' the high life, now!
EL - Chickens of any species are of the devil. ::nod::
RE the pink deer, I'm gonna go with Robin. These deer are family heirlooms, and she took them and a pillow with her when she left her husband. Am I warm?
Not my pink deer!
Hi ladeeeeez!!
I'm home for one night as I *must do laundry. Both asking my brother to borrow a pair of his tighty whities and then febreze'ing a dirty pair of my own when his did NOT FIT...both go in the White Trash hall of fame.
I'm going back tomorrow to go to dr trestor's with Chris........his posturing and uncontrollable violent shaking is just getting impossible to deal with.
Thanks to the person who sent the donation which is allowing us to make this visit. It was so sweet and unexpected.......and could not have come at a better time.
Speaking of......I was trying to think of a project I could do to quickly help with June's expenses. He starts getting his SSDI in July so June will be the last month where his expenses are such a huge burden for us.
Anyway, I was thinking of doing one of those hardback books you can make yourself at wallgreens for like $12...a book of "the wisdom of daisies". I thought I could sell them for maybe $16.....
What do y'all think? I am not only open to fundraising ideas, I am begging for them!! If you can think of any project I might be able to turn around quickly.....please let me know!!
Thanks for letting me bitch & whine these last few days. I have been so overwhelmed with Chris' backpedaling progress and resulting extreme frustration.
I feel hopeful about his appt with dr trestor tomorrow.....he isn't one of Chris' neuro or stroke doc....he's a family doc/general physician. He really cares about our family and I really hope he will be creative if necessary and just do something to *help my poor brother. His side is purple and bruised because his left arm/hand (which is closed into a tight fist) shales so violently and flails around, he hits himself in the side and stomach. It is so powerful, I usually can't hold him back without him hitting ME, and now he won't even let me try to hold his arm back because he feels so guilty for accidentally belting me a couple times.
Please everyone who is inclined, say a prayer that tomorrow will bring some much needed reflief for Chris.
Wah-hooo...24 finale!!
Those are Margaret's deer right? (totally cheated off of Kaytie, but she is at work and will *never know!)
Elisabeth- would a *regular muscle relaxant work? Or a nerve blocker? It must be so hard on both of you. {hugs}
Plus, AP's white house clue helped too!
Erin......he is on 80mg of baclafen & 30mg of vicaden a day.......his neuro says if we put him on any effective muscle relaxers it would possibly depress his breathing. But it's to the point now where something *has to be done. I'm really hoping dr trestor is open minded and able to help.
Elisabeth! Hi! And Hi Chris when you see him again!
Sorry to hear about his problems. I am inclined to pray and will do so!
Elisabeth- what other diseases or injuries that would cause posturing? CP? Maybe look into that, and see if any of *those support groups have any suggestions. I am sure you have gone over and over any possible solutions. I wish there was something one of us could do that could help.
I hate hearing that about Chris. :(
Ah, man, I hurt for Chris, these struggles and the pain he's going through. :-( Surely we can all pull together and tighten up some for one more month and help you guys out some. Let me rework my budget and make a few phone calls and see if I can't reapportion some money.
Erin, yes, indeedy, the sweet little deer are Margaret's. :-)
are your friends on House Hunters again, AP?
Mulie, yes! You saw it this time? Some house, isn't it?
