Let's skip church, clean up our white-trashiness for the day and go play with Karen's kittens!
I do not know which of then went to be with Jesus and I don't want to know. Let's pretend that never happened, okay? Good.
If anyone has any last white trash photos to share, please do...we're nearly out. Since so many mentioned prom pictures, let's do that next only let's make it prom or senior pics in case some of us don't have prom photos. How does that sound?

From the last post:
Hi girls!
SW, yes, it was gross. And so so funny!
AP, I'm not a crier either. I am about some things, but not over things like what is was being discussed. I did read Bring the Rain in it's entirety last week and cry like a baby, though. So I guess it just depends on the circumstance.
I'm going to church tomorrow for the first time ever in my adult life. I do not even own a bible. I'm nervous.
And the SC menu? Swoon. That all sounds so good. I need to join one of those. Yumm.
AP, I'll send you a picture tomorrow for the white trash submission. I'll have to dig it out after I get home.
"I know for a fact, that you looked HOT in that tank top and hot pink velour track pants!"
Even my husband said, "What are those pants exactly?" I said, "The kind that fit!"
Wow. Okay, nobody break out the banning wand, but I am so *not a cat person. Actually, I usually hate them.
That said, that black one? With the blue eyes? Omg I want him!! He is so freaking cute and for some reason I just feel the urge to stick my face in his fur. (Did that sound dirty?)
<-----Not a crier.
Have cried 47 times in the last 2 days. I need to have this baby before I.....becomes one of those people who cries over everything.
Janette - No need to be scared. Just sit in the back and follow along. No need to say, but what denomination of church are you going to? Some are more strict than others, is why I ask.
We are going to Greece later in the year. I hope to attend a Greek Orthodox service.
Kaytie, it's a non-denominational church. I picked this one because it is right by my house, less than a mile in fact, and the nursery/daycare area looks awesome! They also have a relaxed dress code, so I could wear jeans if I wanted. I'm not comfortable wearing jeans there my first time going though, so I am going with black dress pants, a pale yellow blouse, and open-toed black shoes. Brookelyn is going with me and she is wearing her dress from Easter, which is also pale yellow.
Here's a link to the church... Anyone that looks has to check out the daycare, it looks really nice and it will give Brookelyn some much needed interaction with other toddlers.

Jeez, I'm full of typos tonight.
We are going to Greece later in the year. I hope to attend a Greek Orthodox service.
I'm basically clueless when it comes to different types of churches and services, so forgive me for not knowing exactly what that is. But Greece? Wow, I would love to go there!
In my 25 years, I've been to church maybe 20 times. My grandma was a JW, so my dad made us go with her sometimes, which scarred me. Then when I lived in the South with my mom and her husband, they took me to some crazy church where a man went around poking everyone in the forehead. They would then fall down. He came and poked me and I didn't fall. He poked me harder. Same result. The 3rd poke, I faked it and hit the ground. It was getting a little embarrassing for the both of us.
I never went back after that.
I'm starting to feel like I'm talking to myself. Is everyone busy firing up the banning wand?
I hope my new neighbor didn't take offence, but this afternoon as I was driving back from picking up a pizza, I saw he sitting on her front porch, in the heat, with her tiny baby.
We have a unused window unit in our garage that was my BIL's, so I drive back around the block and offered it to her. This was our first meeting. She said there were AC units in the garage and just needed to get her dad over to install them and she actually likes to sit out side.
Kay- Sending good thoughts and virtual hugs your way :(
No, Janette, you are not talking to yourself, we're listening and by the meter count so are others :-D
Now back to being serious, I think it is awesome that you are going and I hope it goes well for you. As for the forehead thing, I think I would have done the same thing. Not sure, I have a stubborn streak, but like you, after the third time, I am pretty sure I would do the same!
We have the *nicest house on the block, because 75% of the homes are 40 years+ and our house was built last year and has granite and all that jazz, so a lot of the neighbors are intimidated in the sense that they feel the need to justify verbally why they live in the home they do OR think we have money or something (ha! do NOT). I always have to explain that this is our 5th house and MD had a much higher cost of living and we were able to see it for a profit and roll the money into this house. It's always kind of awkward.
They should know we are as white trash as next person, because our lawn and landscaping look like shit!
Oh, and AP, check your email!
"I'm going to church tomorrow for the first time ever in my adult life. I do not even own a bible. I'm nervous."
Oh, don't be...it'll be interesting at worst, enjoyable at best! I checked your link and you'll be just fine there. That's going to be about as non-scary as a church gets and I'd totally go with you if I were closer!
As for the kittens, that black one was my favorite, too. It's not a really pretty kitten but it looks like the runt, so sweet, and I have a thing for the runts.
Mulie - That was really, really nice of you. You could have just blown right past, and you had no idea of her a/c in the garage.
Mulie, that was very nice of you. I don't think I would have been offended. You're good people :)
Kaytie, I know right? I'm stubborn too but dang, I was a little afraid of what that 4th poke was going to feel like!
Jae, if you see this, yay! for your future DIL!! I am working on my prereqs right now and then will be applying to nursing school in the fall. Just out of curiosity, what are her 2 associate's degrees in?
AP, it does look like a nice church doesn't it? I wish you *were closer! I tried talking my uncle into going with me, because I'm so nervous to be going the first time all by myself.
Also, I had my doctor give me Chantix. I haven't started it yet, but I have it and will be starting it before the end of June. I really love to smoke but it's so dang expensive. Plus, I have some health things going on that are a little scary, and it's made me realize that I want to live a long time. So, the cigs have got to go.
"Then when I lived in the South with my mom and her husband, they took me to some crazy church where a man went around poking everyone in the forehead."
Lol, probably Pentecostal although possibly a Southern Baptist splinter branch. I was raised Southern Baptist...they're a scary enough lot but when they get some radical members that splinter off and form their own churches? Oh, man, that's when the laying on of hands really gets serious and they start dunking you in creeks.
Kittens are adorable. However, that momma cat? She is gorgeous!
I am NOT a cat person, but we have barn cats. One of them looks like that momma cat. They stay down by the barn. When I go in there in the morning, there is a grey fluffy one with bright blue eyes that likes to rub all over the dogs and my boots.
back to regular programming :-D
Jeanette, I have a confession...I love going to new churches. I haven't in years but I used to pick a new one every so often and go check it out. None held me long enough to keep me...in the end, I'm just not a Christian but I just love visiting and getting a feel for them.
Will someone give me the crackerjack card drivers license version of what LFOB is dealing with?? I'm nervous for her, trouble breathing and all.....
On the last kitten pic, I feel like I'm going to see one if those lolcat captions that says "I haz a tale in da back.....AND one in da fwont!"
And in paying-it-forward ness, have y'all seen
https://dippin4divas.com ?? It's AmyB's site.....am pretty sure sone of you know her from the blog circuit. She is going thru cancer treatments but the main physical & financial burden is that her son has had a major stroke and nearly 20 brain surgeries as a result. She started the site to help with the out of pocket medical bills which are in the "you don't wanna know" figures after dealing with Philip's issues for so long. My family has only been traveling this road for 6 months and it seems like years.....so for it to actually BE years.......I can't even fathom.
If you have a bridal or wedding shower or maybe a birthday for friend or family, check out Amy's awesome candles!! You can get the labels customized which also make beautiful memorial tokens.
That doesn't surprise me a bit about you AP. I've always thought of you as someone that likes to be well informed, even if it's not something you are a fan of. I like how you give things a chance, even if you already think you aren't going to like it. I have a hard time doing that.
Kaytie, I'm a sucker for calicos and think the mama is the prettiest, too.
Kay, are you still reading along out there? Are you going to the hospital? I hope you do. I'm not ignoring you, just hoping maybe we gave you a few minutes of distraction. {{{{{{Kay}}}}
Jeanette, I have to be honest about my church going ways...it's a comfortable thing for me now that I've become my own person. While I don't believe properly enough to be a Christian, I love the comfort factor of the hymns and sermons from time to time. :-)
I don't even know why I'm going. I just have the urge to go, and have for a couple weeks now. Then I read Angie's blog and decided I'm going. I may never go back, but if I don't go at least once it's going to bug me. I know absolutely nothing about church. I couldn't tell you the difference between Baptist and Methodist. I know the basics, the 10 commandments, the flood, things like that. But other than that I'm clueless and it's bothering me for some reason.
That's a big reason I love going to Catholic Church, AP. It's like the McDonald's of religion. You are always going to get pretty close to the same mass everywhere.
AP - I have been raised Methodist, my cousins were Roman Catholic and I loved and feared going to services with them. Although, at that time, it was all Latin, and it really pissed me off that I could not go up front and take the sacrament, I mean for crying out loud I was already baptized.
I had a Lutheran and Pentecostal BF, but rebelled at their services. I have been at Jewish ceremonies and services and was welcomed and marveled at it. I was in Malaysia and denied access to the Mosque, but my husband was able to visit it. However, they made him wear a PINK overgown to denote him as a nonbeliever. And then they turn around and say Americans are prejudiced!
I have also been to Buddhist Temples and visited with Buddhist Nuns while in Malaysia. They are such gentle souls. I only wish I could make the food that they did - mushroom based and tasted like steak and shrimp!
I have never been to a Southern Baptist service and would love to attend one!
With all of this said, and it being late at night, Faith IS. We are praying to the same God, albeit different forms. Let Peace reign.
"With all of this said, and it being late at night, Faith IS. We are praying to the same God, albeit different forms. Let Peace reign."
Well, amen to that and for those who believe in science instead of God, good for you, too. I think it's still all the same but some of us just like giving it a personality. :-)
Mulie, yes, same thing...the comfort factor. Nostalgia, whatever you want to call it, it's a good thing from time to time. :-)
Oooh! I forgot to mention Science
::smack forehead::
I am big on that, too :-D
Well, I am off for a soak in my jacuzzi tub for the last time in 4 weeks. Night all!
I'm out too. Need to get in bed so I can go get in touch with Jesus bright and early in the a.m. Thanks for the pep talk girls!
Have a good Sunday everyone!
Nite Mulie! Dh and I ate our leftover Chinese food in the hot tub, and it sure cured my *riding thighs :-D Hope it helps you, too!
Mulez, you mentioned contractions on Twitter. Nothing doing, now?? I
guess not, or you'd probably be going to the hospital instead of the jacuzzi........
Big props (did I just say "props"?) to anyone willing to try church for any reason. Since I've always been obstinately vocal about my brother being gay *and a Christian.....and it has caused some raised eyebrows, pursed lips, disapproving stares.....and that's the "nice" stuff. My brother has always been extremely mindful of telling me not to ever let the actions of those people distance me from God even if it does distance me from church.
I admit I've been totally lax about church since Chris' stroke. I miss it on the weekends I miss (most, lately) I feel like I *wish I was there.....so that leads me to think I've found a good place.
This is totally unrelated to church as it's being discussed here.....but still very cool. For anyone who has an iPhone (mine is the cheapo 1st gen and it works great on mine so it should work on any/all of them) you should check out the free app called "Arounder Touch". It has panoramic, 360* photos of many amazing things......but the churches in Europe?? Unreal. The beauty they manage to capture in these photos is truly, TRULY amazing. I know it sounds kind of blah but if you give it a chance I promise you will not be sorry.
Would it be cheesy to say "God bless us, every one"? Because I think I'm gonna.
I'm being taken care of guys. Elisabeth I have fungal meningitis.
Stopping in while the bacon cooks - kids are up but still deliciously groggy.
I had awful dreams about a little boy abusing a cat. Really awful. DOn't know where that came from but I was glad to be awake.
Kay, stop in today if you can to let us know you're okay. Hugs to you because that's all I have.
Jeanette, I felt really excited for you when I read about visiting a church. If you find the right place it can be such a wonderful support in raising your girls. Best case scenario, you find a deep and rewarding spiritual experience. Worst case scenario you guys walk in looking like sunshine and spend an hour brightening other people's day.
Glad you are being taken care of, Kay.
I had been feeling random contractions and pain, but I don't think anything that was organized enough to do anything by annoy me. I am supposed to check in the hosp at 6 pm this evening and do the whole cervix softening cream.
Morning, all.
Kay, thinking about you and hope today is better. I'm glad you're being cared for and hoping for the best for you. I hope you can post and let us know how you're doing today.
Mulie, hope things go well for you and baby Mulie. Can't wait to see photos of the newest Daisy members! And I know you can't wait for baby to be in your arms instead of your uterus!
Jeanette, you asked about my future DIL's two Associates degrees. She got her first in Fine Arts (she's a gifted artist) but realized she couldn't make a living at that. The second one in the Science field - Biology, I think. She also has her certificate as a CNA, which she took to make sure nursing was something she really wanted to do. She's amazing to me!
Good luck to you on getting your pre-reqs done and getting into nursing school. Around here, it's incredibly hard since there are many more applicants that places. And hope you enjoy church this morning. I checked your link - it sounds like a very cool church and one I'd try out if I could!
Is there a wedding date set, Jae?
Morning ladies.
Morning, Jill.
Mulie, no wedding date. Neither of them seems to be in any hurry at all. Which makes sense, I guess since she wants to finish school first. But they've been together for several years and she already seems like a daughter to me.
Anyone know how long I should wait to leave the house after I have an enema? I want one before I leave for the hospital.
Happy Sunday all! I’m still annoyingly chipper this weekend, having a wonderful relaxing break. Except that I’m working today, but if I can get some work done that will make me feel accomplished and continue my good mood.
Eating strawberries, blueberries and greek yogurt for breakfast. I know myself, and when I discover something new that I love I’ll eat it until I’m sick of it. So expect a two or three week greek yogurt binge, and never to hear from it again. :-)
Catching up on comments:
Oh, the kittens are so cute! I agree we don’t need to know which one is no longer with us. And yes, that never happened.
Mulie, thanks for saying you’ve had dishes in the sink for three weeks. Even though it’s probably not true, it makes me feel better about myself.
AP, fantastic tip about the vacuum cleaner in the middle of the floor! I’ve got to remember that. If I ever start talking to any neighbors, that is.
Kay, just read where you had a bad bad day yesterday. So sorry that you are having trouble breathing. That must be terrifying. I wish I could help in some way. Sending you positive thoughts.
Kaytie, Robin will have to let us know if you are damned to hell over flashing the JW guys then threatening them. But I say if you gotta go, go big!
Jeanette, let us know how you liked the church. It’s interesting that Angie Smith’s blog is leading you to go. She would be happy to know that.
AP said: “While I don't believe properly enough to be a Christian, I love the comfort factor of the hymns and sermons from time to time. :-)” You know, the hymns are what I miss most about church, AP. I was raised Methodist and went every time the doors opened until I was in my 20’s. Now I’m not a Christian and do not believe in the supernatural, but wouldn’t mind going and singing some hymns every once in a while.
AP said: “Well, amen to that and for those who believe in science instead of God, good for you, too. I think it's still all the same but some of us just like giving it a personality. :-)” I like that, AP. “Giving it a personality.” You kinda rock.
Happy cervix softening Mulie!
Catching up.
LFoB- Sorry you are having a rough time! :( I am glad you are being taken care of. I have nothing but ((((hugs))))!
Mulie- I am SO jealous right now! I want menial contractions at the very least! All of my braxton hicks crashed and burned a week ago. I can't wait for Muliette to be here, though. :D Will your husband update for us when you have her? Btw- love the new avatar! You are gorgeous! I am going to have a friend of mine take some photos of us as a family with the belly today while they are here, but I definitely won't look that good or put together. You will probably see my bright red bra sticking out of whatever I put on since it's the only one that fits right now. ha
SW- SC meal sounds amazing! Let us know how it goes!
Jeanette- I just had a friend use Chantix and he is done with cigs. He said it made him tired all of the time, but he is done now. And so much happier for it! Good luck! Also, don't be askeered of the church. :) We go to a nondenominational church, also. We love ours and love the kids area! We have been going for a couple of years now (on and off) but we really like it.
Hello ladies - lots to catch up on.
Kay - so sorry you're having a hard time.
SW - nice menu
Jeannette - hubs tried Chantix - made him puke for 3 days.
Lazy day here - it's hot!
Muliette. I like that! :-)
Wanted to double check my post, that's whey the delete.
Kay (LFOB) is in hospital with breathing problems and a lot of pain. She wanted me to pass this on to especially Elisabeth. Her sats were low, but they are better.
Kaytie, I'm so sorry to hear that. Thanks for letting us know. Wishing you strength and healing, Kay.
Forgot to say Morning :-D
Mulie - Good luck this evening!
Good morning all!
Kaytie, no riding as of yet - the weather has just been asinine. Freezing cold, snow in the mountains again, and wind and rain. We did go over to their pasture yesterday to bring them over to our house to eat some of the grass down on this acreage. Trailer-loading did *not go well with Blue, and we ended up calling a friend who does some Parelli stuff, and much as I *want to say I'm all old-school and poo-poo that stuff, I'll be damned if he didn't have him loading *himself in teh trailer in about 15 minutes. Walked up to it and got in without anyone leading him. Crazy. So I want to try that over and over again today, and while Jerry will load into anything you ask of him, he doesn't do it on his own, so I'd like to see if I can get him to do it.
Kay - I am sorry you are in so much pain and I hope your breathing problems get better! Sounds lame, I know, but I am thinking of you.
SW - your SC menu sounds amazing. Are you doing that carmelized onion dip from teh recipe I posted back in the old SIP days?
Jeanette - I wish I'd have been here for the church discussion yesterday, and I found your comments regarding your grandma being JW and going and scarring you to be interesting. I was raised JW, which I don't know if you knew if you're not able to read here all the time, and just recently left/got tossed out. I *want to go to church, *somewhere, but the guilt and ingrained fear that I will be instantly struck by lightning and that I am just committing the absolute inforgivable sin by even going there makes me about immobile mentally to do so. I have a friend who is Baptist and the pastor there is the dad of one of CAmi's friends, and they have both asked me to come sometime, so I may work up my nerves to do that.
SW and Kaytie - JW's don't believe in hell, so I think Kaytie's hussy-like flashing and threatning probably just scared them more than anything. lol.
Robin, I didn't remember that you had posted a caramelized onion dip at SIP. I'll check that out. I found a recipe in a Barefoot Contessa cookbook. Will compare the two and let you know what I find.
How are you enjoying your kid-free weekend? How did the cow round-up go for the girls, if that's over?
Mulie -- good luck! I don't know if anyone answered your question bout enemas, but with my second, knowing I was going to be induced, they gave me an enema at the hospital. Which was fun. I did not want to do that, but they were a teensy bit graphic about what could happen if I didn't, and the thought of that made me very askeered.
Taiya still around?
So JW's don't believe in hell? Where do they think you go when you die unsaved, or in sin?
SW - It's probably the same then, because I think the one I made was Barefoot Contessa. Now I'll have to look.
SW - I haven't talked to the girls, but the weather was incredibly shitty yesterday, so if the cattle drive went, I would guess they spent most of their day in the truck and their horses in the trailer. :-)
They don't believe in hell. They only believe in heaven for a select few (144,000.) If you die unsaved or in sin, you are just dead, no hell, no purgatory, no nothing. Just dead.
Kaytie, thank you for passing word on about about Kay. I'm so very worried about her and hope she gets some relief and is back home soon. And can I just say that while I know it's how things are supposed to happen, it still pisses me off that such good people like Kay get thwapped with the suck stick so hard while so many assholes just skate right on along in life? :-(
And Mulie, I'd not leave the house for a week after an enema. Maybe two.
I am here, RiM. On and off. Just cleaning and stuff.
Wait, literally only 144,000 Robin? Well there are more JW's than that, right? So some devout JW's don't make the cut?
RiM- Sorry you haven't gotten to ride yet! ::googling 'Parelli stuff':::
LOL AP re enema. Good luck with that, Mulie.
Okay- I actually knew what that was. Nevermind. Just didn't remember the name, apparently. "Savvy Club" rang a bell. ha
Robin - I had one of the local trainers come out and work with my stallion a couple years ago. That Parelli stuff is amazing. Definitely worth trying out!
Weather here is in the low 50s, but at least it is not raining. I got a brief ride in yesterday, but the ground is so soaked it was too slippery for more.
SW -- literally 144,000. They believe that the other faithful will be resurrected if they have died, or if tehy are alive at the time of the end, will live through, to live forever on earth, the way it was originally intended before Adam and Eve sinned. Etc. etc.
Taiya - Parelli training is pretty cool stuff. Also I like Chris Cox and ... a guy with the last name of Cameron. Doug Reis. Lots of cool training stuff out there.
Oh, I bought my straw bales yesterday, also two topsy-turvy tomato planters. Also an heirloom tomato plant -kind of excited about that.
I am kind of out of the horse loop, RiM, since I got rid of my horses a few years ago, now.
I googled 144,000 and found intersting stuff on Wikipedia, and proof that Robin knows her JW "facts"!
We planted 5 of our tomato plants yesterday, but not in straw bales. You will have to let me know how it goes, RiM!
I'm not planting the tomatos in straw bales. The heirloom will go in a planter, and the other two in the topsy-turvies.
The lady at the produce stand offered me 25-pound boxes of tomatoes yesterday (for canning) for $15 a box. I am just not ready to can yet, but I shouldn't have passed up that deal.
SW - I know my JW facts. :-D Unfortunately.
AP - Are you planting anymore stuff today?
I am in taking a warm up break. A big fir tree went down behind the barn. It was on a slope and the ground is so wet it fell (no damage). Hubby chained it up by the tractor and I have been clearing up the limbs. Went down the hill on my ass at one point it was so muddy!
"also two topsy-turvy tomato planters"
Hey, I got one of these when I got the stand planter that grows upside down! I really wish I could do the straw bale thing but between bugs and mildew, I suspect they're a very bad idea for Florida. Plus, I'm stuck with them becoming missiles in a hurricane. I'm anxious to see how they do for y'all, though.
Kaytie, are you going to use it as firewood? I think today I'm just going to work some more on clearing the place up out there. It's really, really bad. I need to scrub mildew off the fascia, do some repainting and could still fill maybe 10 cans with old debris. When I say we neglected it, I'm not kidding. I think my lawn service is coming today to trim all the branches off my roof (hurricane prep) and then shape my Golden Rain tree up some and see if we can make it look good.
AP - We'll let it dry this summer and then cut it up for firewood so it won't go to waste.
And yep, I cringe at the amount of work you have to do. I have a few spots out here that I never seem to get to and know it would take weeks to clear out. I am glad you are getting the limbs off your house! I have to google Golden Rain Tree - don't know what that is - sounds pretty!
Golden Rain Tree - Those are beautiful! Wish we could grow them out here - I want one!
<<--avoiding work by googling golden rain trees
Afternoon Ladies.
Hiya Sandy! Enjoying your day? I'm working intermittently between checking the internets, just to make sure I'm not missing anything important.
Well, I'm back! And... I actually had a really good time. It was a very laid back church. The pastor cracked jokes and they have a band. Brookelyn did awesome, she was a bit nervous at first but let me leave her and now says she wants to go back next week. I think I do too!
RiM, I didn't know that you were a former JW! I'm assuming you were disfellowshipped because of the divorce? You don't have to tell me, I'm just guessing that based on the little I know about you. You seem very caring and genuine so I can't think of any other reason. I know exactly what you mean, about being scared. I would love for you to email me if you want to talk more about it.
jeanette.andontotoday@gmail.com
Taiya, and others that commented about Chantix. Thanks for the input. I've been looking for other's experiences with it. I really need to quit so I'm willing to try it. I just hope it doesn't make me sick. All of my other meds already take a lot out of me, so I'm hoping for zero side effects from this.
SW, I think I might email her and tell her! Like I said, I was already thinking about it but reading her blog really gave me the push to go.
Jae, she sounds awesome! There are 2 programs here that I will apply for, and they both average about a 6 month waiting list. One of them is actually at the hospital, and the other is at the school I'm going to now.
Thanks for the support about church girls, I mean that. I don't really have any friends or family that go so I didn't even know where to start. If we hadn't talked about it last night, I probably would have backed out this morning. So really, thank you to you all.
Me and the kids are off to the lake. I'll be around later!
It's interesting that you have no friends or family who go to church, Jeanette. I'm almost completely the opposite. Pretty much everybody in my state has a church and a religion. For the first time ever, I have a handful of non-spiritual friends.
Sigh. This patent application for a farm implement that I'm working on doesn't exactly have my entertainment meter pegged.
Dinner tonight - Standbys with new twists. Thanks SW for Epi link. and to Robin for PW link.
Rib Eyes-sea salt, pepper, oiled and sage (Epi)
Skillet Dinner Rolls with Thyme (PW)
My regular spinach salad with dried cranberries and crumbled blue cheese. I ran out of almonds and so I think I will toss in sugared peanuts - see how that goes. Balsamic vinagrette dressing
thyme and sage fresh from kitchen garden (garlic not ready yet)
Hey all! :)
The kittens are so cute! And I'm not even a cat person. Or a dog, or any animal person for that matter ;-)
SW - The SC menu sounds *so good! Can I come?;-D
Kaytie - I agree with everything you said about God. Anyone who knows a little about the history of religions *knows* that Jewish, Muslims and Christians all pray the same God.
Jewish *people.
Hi everyone.
Glad you had a good time at church Jeanette.
RiM- that exact number is crazy. I would naturally assume I would not make the cut. I would then contine on my vile life ;)
So much yard work to do. Finally found a way to keep the girls from bickering. We cleansed out the shed, junked all the broken crap, and they are painting the inside. After it is done they will have a 'clubhouse'. Everything gets tossed in the garage, so the shed is used more for winter storage.
Kattie- I used sunflower seed kernnels in that salad last week and it was so good. I use goat cheese though.
:::perking up::: A new farm implement! Wish you could tell, but know you can't. Sure hope it has something to do with GPS linkage on wheat combines :-D
Kaytie, it doesn't have anything to do with GPS linkage on wheat combines. Or combines in general. Why the interest in GPS linkages on wheat combines?
Erin, that's a fun activity for your girls! Good idea on your part!
Erin - Good use of the girls and they get a playspace, too! I do like sunflower and goat cheese on spinach salad as well - Yummmm!
SW - Ummm....because I want one :-D
Do you grow wheat, Kaytie?
SW - Not here, but in the Eastern part of the State. It is called the Palouse area. Rolling hills of wheat fields. Very pretty, imo.
I'm headed to Kaytie's for dinner!
Jeanette, I'm so glad you enjoyed church so much. It's always nerve-wracking to so something big like that for the first time and it sounds like you found the perfect place to start. :-)
Good luck, Mulie and Muliette!
Lord yes, AP. Me too! I forgot to comment how incredibly good that dinner sounds! I'm starving and I had planned to go to the grocery store after work, but going hungry is never a good idea...
Is it OK if I just say I need love? I'm exhausted, simply by breathing
Love day kitties thoughh. But I am curious which one went with Jesus..
Morbid curiosity?
KAY! You know you got it! And lots of hugs, too. Did they ever find out what it is? No worries if you do not want to share. We've all been worried sick about you!
Mulie and Taiya!!! Check in please when you can!
Oh, Kay, you're back! :-) Of course it's okay and you are most definitely loved around these parts. Wait, that sounded like an euphemism. Well, whatever, you can take it however you want to...I'm just awfully glad to see you! Rest as much as you can and we'll be here. {{{You}}}
And lord, now you have me wondering which one is Jesus' kitten now, too. I was trying to not wonder.
AP & SW - Head on over! The dough is still rising so you have plenty of time :-D I have pinot noir, merlot or Chardonnay, and I think a Heineken or two...oh, that bottle of Sweet Tea stuff, too.
Still in the hospital, have pneumonia but my cellphone's very handy. My bets Jesus has an orange and white kitten..cuz.. well I just decided. Is it sad from my hospital bed I'm playing kitten survivor of types?
Kay - Not sad - if Karen were here she'd tell ya. It is sad you have pneumonia and in hospital, though. Glad you are getting treated, but that bites :-(
In the hosp! Found out I am Strep B+ after I got here. No heads up from the OB!
Mulie! Sorry you're in the hospital! Are you feeling okay? How long will you have to be there?
Oh Mulie that sucks. Hope they have you pumped full of abx. Stupid OBs.
Mulie - I am OB stupid, but Strep B+?, are you in the hospital for the duration and can you take the Antibiotics?
http://www.americanpregnancy.org/pregnancycomplications/groupbstrepinfection.html
I basically have to type w/ one hand because of the IV.
Mulie - read the link you sent. Sounds like you are spending the night with IV Abx. Are they putting the induction on hold?
They are doing Penicillin right now and will through out labor.
I'll be thinking about ya Mulie! I hope it's a smooth and trouble free delivery! Be sure to have Hubby update when the baby is here!
Dang, that was a lot of exclamation points.
I infer from that, the induction is a go? If so, you are in our thoughts for all going well!
(And, I hate needles being aimed my way, but you can request an IV site change so you can use both hands, that is if there is a good one to access quick).
Mulie good thoughts to you. Thank goodness you did NOT go into labor on your own!
Kay- Hugs, hugs, and more hugs. Thought about you today alot. I hope things are easing up.
Please Karen, if Jesus kitten is the black and white one do.not.tell.me. Just say "Erin-skip this post".
Jeanette...between Mulie and Taiya, Daisy exclamation points are going to be the norm :-D
!!!!!!
This is nerve wracking and exciting. I mean that in all sincerity and no snarkiness.
!!!!!!
The pit is causing contractions already. None that hurt. Yet.
I am here. Not in labor, though. I am expecting Mulie to share the contraction vibes tonight. :)
Wouldn't that be something? If both of you ended up delivering tomorrow? And live blogged it from your cell phones? Ha!
I am not live blogging from my cell. haha. :) I am super happy about Mulie, but it won't be me. :D
So Skype is out too Taiya? ROFL
Would your hubs consider doing it for you? No? I'll guess we'll just have to wait for pictures then!
Hey, guys! I'm going to let this post run until morning in hopes I can start tomorrow out with new baby news. :-)
Mulie, I hope everyone goes well!
Kay, I'm sorry you're in the hospital but thank goodness for that phone. Keep us updated and don't forget how much you mean to us. {{{Kay}}}
Elisabeth, poke Chris for me, just a little poke, and tell him I hope this week brings only good things for him.
Late night greeting to you all,
We came back from the cabin tonight instead of tomorrow morning - one less night on the ultra uncomfortable cabin mattress.
Anyone still on?
AP......Chris says even tho he is *so not in the mood to be poked, he can't resist a-pokin' from his best flouse. (that's Fake Lesbian Spouse for the uninitiated)
We went over to the folks' this afternoon before heading back to the apartment and it was a brutal, brutal talk. Everything we suggested (like trying to get in a group care a few days a week, trying to find a different apartment so that hubs & I can *both be there and not forced to spend so little time together) he immediately shot down without even a slight consideration toward compromise.
I know he has had to give up SO much and that his life is unrecognizable now.....but telling him that he was going to *have to compromise so hubs & I can work (doing something that actually pays) was still harder than I thought. I really don't think he had considered that while we have been putting ALL of our financial resources toward HIS needs.......we've obviously been neglecting our own. Which is fine.....we made a decision to put his needs first and abided by it until there was nothing left to allocate. But I guess I thought he would realize that *eventually we were going to have to go back to actual paying jobs. It was like we were telling him someone had died, or some other shocking and devastating news. He totally freaked at the thought of adult day care......his eyes immediately filled with tears and he had the most pathetic, broken hearted face as he croaked out "DAY care..?? You would put me in DAY CARE??"
Oh it was hideous. I love him so much, we ALL do....and truly wish I could give in to his every whim, let him stay in his happy little sunny apartment and keep taking care of him with my mom and my hubs.....have him keep kicking butt in physical & occupational therapy. That would be great. And unfortunately I really think this is the way he thought things would be. Today was a harsh eye opening for him and a wrench of a heart breaker for me and the rest of us.
I'm still hoping that we can make it to July because while the SSDI money won't be a cure all, it'll be a "fix a hell of a lot".
I feel like all I ever do here is bitch about the difficulties of this situation. I know it must get tired and by this point I must sound like the teacher from Peanuts. But please know that you all are my sounding board and the pillow my ass lands on when my feet get ahead of my brain (often) and I really and truly appreciate *every single one of you.
LFOB......I am so sorry for the troubles you are dealing with. I don't know a lot about fungal pneumonia but I know it is often crippling to your breath in both intensity and frequency of respirations. I hope you are receiving quality medical care and that progress will be swift and complete.
Mulez, I'm follow your cont-twitters (contractions via twitter) and you are cracking me up. Your humor combined with the knowledge that the hope, promise, and blessing of new life will soon be among us........has been good medicine for me.
No decent contractions yet. Thought baby went breech again, but isn't, she is just all over the place.
Mulie - weee, I hope all goes well for you and your little one. How exciting!!!
Elisabeth I am sorry the discussion was so hard on all of you. You guys can't take care of Chris and his needs at the expense of your own. Sounds so simple when you take out all the emotion, doesn't it?? If only it could *be that simple. It's hard to ask them to give up one more thing, believe me I know. Hang in there!
I wonder if Chris is capable of understanding in a rational way, Elisabeth? KWIM? Just because of the way his brain is now wired. Don't be too hard on yourself. You can't take care of him long term if your personal life is in chaos.
OMG, Mulie's in labor! This is as close to actual labor that I've ever been! Expect many exclamation marks from me today!!! Woohoo!!!
I am so hungry I accepted Communion just so I could have a snack.
ROFL Mulie! Poor thing! Do they not let you eat while you're in labor? (Probably a stupid question, but I'm a labor novice.)
No food since 230 yesterday!
I hope that man is coming back with the communion wine!
Ha!
Good Morning ladies :)
I know I haven't been around much...summer is such a busy time for me. I've had graduation parties, work has been crazy, and keeping up with the yard is a full time job on the weekends. I think I hand-pulled 1000 weeds yesterday.
Mulie! You are in labor? Woo!
Hey! Mulie is tweeting her labor?? Someone tell me her Twitter name!!
SW, nope, they don't feed you during labor. They are afraid you will shit all over yourself and the doctor both while pushing. My first labor, I didn't know that either and asked around noon when lunch would be served. The nurse just looked at me and said, you don't get anything until the baby comes. I freaked. How could it be healthy for the baby for the mother to starve!? LOL... I knew better the next time around and stuffed my face the whole day before.
Bella's back! Woohoo! Now if we could only get a visit from the late BD, we would be complete!
I think it's muliebritysmith, Jeanette. So really the only reason you can't eat is so you don't soil yourself and the doctor? That doesn't seem to be a good enough reason. I mean, lots of gross stuff comes out in the general vicinity anyway, right? Nevermind, I really don't need to know this.
LOL SW, that's the only reason that *I am aware of. There might be another reason, I'm sure Kaytie might know if there is. But really, childbirth isn't as messy as you would think. Your water breaks, and that's a little messy, but when the baby actually comes out, it's not too bad. Unless of course you have a genius doctor like I had and he cuts something the wrong way when getting the placenta out. Then it looks a bit like a murder scene.
I should add that he cut something wrong on the afterbirth, not on my body.
'Moring, all and SW, use all ther exclamation points you way!! This is exciting!!
Elisabeth, I'll accept the title of flouse gladly and I hate what y'all went through yesterday but you're doing the right thing. Don't get me wrong, I'd have probably had Chris' reaction about the day care and it makes my heart break for him. But, in the end, he's the not only person in this big equation now and y'all *must take care of yourselves, too,. If you don't, he's going to lose even more than he already has and I pray he can see that soon. You're doing the right thing. I just wish I loved closer so I could be his "day care" until tings get more normal...I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Bella, do we know you? I have a vague, muddled memory of someone with your name but it's been a looong time...
Okay, off to put a new post up.
Afterbirth. That's another thing I really don't need to know about!
** new post **
Just trying to keep you well rounded SW!!
Elisabeth, I don't always get to keep up here so you could have addressed this before and I missed it. But couldn't Chris move in with you and your husband until he is back on his feet?
Whatever you all end up deciding to do, I hope it works out and happens quickly. It is so hard when someone is down and there is no set date for it all to be back to normal. When my grandpa was in the hospital and my uncle and I were taking shifts staying with him, I thought I would go crazy. I missed my kids and my house and my bed. That lasted about 2 months and from my understanding you have been on this rodeo much longer than that. I'm so sorry. I hope things get better quickly.
mulie
i am catching up. holy crap about the groupB and that the OB didn't tell you. that was stupid.
glad they've got the time to get antibiotics in you. penicillin is good stuff. i hope everything else is ok. seriously. GBS is scary scary crap.
