Hi all!

::hoping today's the day AP will be back::

Morning

Sandy said...

Good Morning Ladies!

Anonymous said...

Good morning Sandy and Jill!

Jill - How many days left?

twirldawg said...

Corinne today is the last full day. Thursday and Friday are half days!!!

Anonymous said...

Yay! I bet you're excited :)

Sandy said...

Yay for Jill!! That's awesome.

twirldawg said...

I'm super excited.

Angie said...

Crap. I saw the lady lumps and thought AP was back. :-(

Morning anyway! Congrats Jill!

I enjoyed the TV last night. I wasn't crazy about Lost, looking forward to hearing AP's thoughts about it. Lee rocked American Idol. Blondie needs to go tonight.

Angie said...

Bella, I like the poem you posted last night.

Do you think BD dumped us? I miss her.

Anonymous said...

Hi SW!

Was it the Lost series finale yesterday?

Sandy said...

No Lost spoilers please.

twirldawg said...

Lost finale on Sunday. Not sure how they are going to wrap this up in two and a half hours.

Surely BD is busy with life.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Jill!

I have a friend who keeps telling me what's going on in Lost despite the fact that I barely know who is who. She was bummed when they announced it was the last season.

I think Bd is still on vacation, hence her being scarce.

Anonymous said...

Did you all see that Kelly Preston and John Travolta are expecting?

twirldawg said...

I saw that Corinne. Something is weird about it. Not because of their age or anything, but because they are nutty Scientology.

Deb said...

Good morning ladies!

Corinne - I saw that this morning, and Kelly is 47. There is no.way I would want to go thru another pregnancy, even in my now "early" 40's!

Jill - Gaaaaaah! Time flew, didn't it?

So, got my stitches out from my mole removal. It came back a-typical, mild to moderate, so now they want to remove another suspect one to see if the result is the same. No biggie.

How is everyone?!

Muliebrity said...

Good morning! Thinking about the John and Kelly being pregnant thing... Being Scientologists and all, they don't put stock in modern medicine, right? So would Kelly have to conceive naturally?

Anonymous said...

<---------- doesn't understand how otherwise intelligent people get sucked into Scientology

Anonymous said...

Jill - I thought that was weird too. As Mulie said, scientologists are not supposed to be helped by medicine to get pregnant. Well, I guess it's still technically possible to get pregnant naturally at 47 but I don't know.

Deb - I agree. IMO 47 is old to become a mother.

Deb said...

Being a Scientologist, and being 47 and pregnant would definitely put her at extremely high risk.

So, do they get pre-natal care, check-ups, anything?

Angie said...

Hmmm, Mulie. I didn't think it was Scientologists who don't believe in modern medicine. I thought that was Christian Scientists. But hell, what do I know about religion?

BTW, if you are having a spriritual crisis, you might want to consider not going to your agnostic friend for advice. Just an FYI, because a friend of mine did that to me. Put me in the awkward position of deciding between trying to reassure her about the existence of a diety in which I have no belief, and telling her maybe believing in god is so hard for her because she knows deep down it isn't true. I took a middle path, but still.

Muliebrity said...

She came to you, SW, because she knew you would tell you what she wanted to hear.

Deb said...

Mulie - right, I remember that between Tom and Brooke.

Anonymous said...

Margaret - I don't either. We studied cults in high school and learned a bit about scientology. This thing is so w-e-i-r-d!

Deb - I think they get pre-natal check-ups but just cannot use meds.

Angie said...

I remember that Mulie. That's when I started to detest Tom Cruise. He was such an ass.

twirldawg said...

I remember when Katie Holmes was pregnant with Suri that Tom Cruise supposedly had an ultrasound machine brought to the house.

Forget having babies and toddlers in yoru 40's, imagine teenagers in your 60's!

Angie said...

Re my friend, am I wrong to think that a 42 year old should already have a decent grasp on her spiritual beliefs and pretty much know who she is? I went through my last existential crisis when I was in my 20's, and then I got over myself. ;-)

Muliebrity said...

I am feeling very bland today. I had oatmeal w/ honey for breakfast with some plain English Breakfast tea and feel so nauseous.

Deb said...

SW - I don't think so, I think some people struggle all of their lives. Just my opinion, of course.

Angie said...

Does anybody have a mojito recipe they recommend? I'm having a friend over for drinks on the porch tomorrow night and want to try out the mint I've been growing.

Deb said...

Sorry SW, I'm not a "drink" drinker, mostly just beer and wine.

Shannon said...

Good morning ladies.

Crazy thinking about having a baby at close to 50. I am loving the fact that by the time I hit 40 my kids will be out of the house no way do I want to start all over again.

Scientology kind of weirds me out. Now they are the ones who think humans are actually possessed by the ghosts of aliens right? I dont know that is a little out there but then again most religion is also. I guess that believing in alien ghosts isnt much different then believing in this all powerful interested but hands off unseen deity in the sky really.

And with that I can feel the uncomfortable position that SW must have felt she was in with her friend coming to her for spiritual advice.

Muliebrity said...

Did you get your car back, SW? I thought about you saying you were out of vodka, but don't they have drive through liquor stores in your parts?

Muliebrity said...

Feel like I have to throw up. Last time I threw up this late in pregnancy, I ruptured my membranes & ended up with an emergency c-section.

Anonymous said...

I think you would have to be nuts to follow a science fiction author turned spiritual leader with a bogus CV.

Anonymous said...

Oh no Mulie!

Angie said...

Lord, no, Mulie! No drive through liquor here in the Bible belt! That would be a *huge sin. I did get my car back yesterday, and was so happy to see it!

Muliebrity said...

I know they have them in Louisiana, but I guess they like to sin in that state.

Shannon said...

Ok how bout now?

Shannon said...

Shit sorry bout that guys blogger was doing some weird crap at me since I posted that last comment saying hello......kept taking me to a sign in page telling me to clear my cookies and cache. It wouldnt let me do nothing at all I had to close my browser.

Shannon said...

Now no emergency C's.....and no crazy sci fi followers....I mean that is just not ok LOL

Deb said...

Mulie - ick, I hope you feel better. Maybe the baby is ready! how far along are you?

Angie said...

Okay, my best friend is coming over Sunday night for the Lost finale and I'm going to cook for her. She's a vegetarian so I'm making veggie Mexican. Wild mushrooom enchiladas with ancho chile cream sauce and goat cheese and pesto quesadillas with roasted red pepper sauce. I made the enchiladas many years ago when my sister was going through a pretend vegetarian phase. I don't remember them wowing me, but will try them again. The quesadillas are very good, and very easy. Both recipes are at epicurious.com if anybody's interested.

Deb said...

Interested in coming over for dinner, SW? Why yes, thanks!

. said...

Good Morning peeps! Taking a break from cleaning. My house is a mess and it's driving me crazy. I've been so busy that all my usual cleaning and tidying up has fallen by the way side.

SW: How'd you feel about AI last night? I hate to say it, but I think I've made the jump to Team Lee. I thought Crystal was terrible and Casey... oh boy. He needs to GO!

Lost rocked! Can't wait for Sunday.

I miss AP and BD, too!

Shannon said...

I dont even know what I am going to watch on Thursday's now since Survivor wont be on until September :(

I hate season finale's and I just havent gotten into any of the newer kind of shows.

Erin said...

Hey Deb...what time do you think we will have to leave to get to SW's for dinner? I don't watch lost soo I will do the dishes!

Angie said...

Tara, I didn't think Crystal was terrible, but she was definitely not on her game. Lee was completely awsome. Casey better be outta there.

Shannon, I agree with you about season finales. I have post TV season depression for a week or so after the end of the season. You guys can expect to hear me start whining soon!

EL and Deb. Dinner's at 7:00. Bring some wine!

Angie said...

Tara, re AI, I will say that I didn't like Simon's song choice for Lee. I realize that Lee did a good job with the song, but for me, Jason Castro's cover of that song a couple of seasons ago was one of my all time favorite AI "moments." I liked it better than Lee's version.

Deb said...

Erin - we can leave whenever you are ready!

Deb said...

Totally OT, our new trees will be delivered today! A White Oak, Kentucky Coffee Tree, and American Yellow wood. I can't wait to see them!

Anonymous said...

Googling Kentucky Coffee Tree.

. said...

Eww, I didn't care for Jason Castro at all, so I probably did a FF through his performance if he sang that. I did think it was an odd choice of song for Lee, but I thought he did an amazing job.

I still like Crystal. Will be interesting to see what happens tonight, but I have a feeling she's leaving. :o(

Lisa said...

Hey, heeey, hey!

*said in my best Dwayne voice and wonders if anyone gets the reference*

I'm back! Absolutely nothing about this has gone as they told me to expect, including the fact they said I'd have to configure the router, something I *hate* doing and always screw up. This time, for whatever reason, it was simple as can be and taaaa-DA! I'm home. :-)

I've missed y'all fiercely! Now I just need to catch up but did anything big happen? Any babies? Any news?

Angie said...

AAAAPPPPPP!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!

::happy dancing all over my office::

Deb said...

She's baaaaaaack!

Totally remember Dwayne!

How are you AP?

Lisa said...

Oh, and I've got to thank Nitsirk for minding Daisy and putting the new posts up. Lol, not that it looks like y'all couldn't have gotten by with just one or two (jeeez) but anyway, thanks Nitsirk - it was much appreciated!

Angie said...

Lordy, we've missed you AP! Nothing big has happened. No babies have arrived. Deb and EL are coming over for dinner Sunday night and bringing wine. EL is doing the dishes afterwards while the rest of us watch Lost. No spoilers (for Sandy), but what did you think of Lost last night? I was kind of "eh" about it.

Lisa said...

Deb, I'm glad someone got it. ;-)

I'm fine and it really wasn't as awful as I expected it to be. I got a lot done and went to bed earlier, anyway. How are you?

SW, I have missed you!!!

Angie said...

Deb, was it you who made the PW brie stuffed mushrooms? Or Robin? Whoever it was, I'm going to make them for my friend who is coming over for drinks tomorrow night. Think they'll be okay if I put them together tonight, and bake them tomorrow?

Anonymous said...

Welcome back AP and thank you Nitsirk - I thought AP was putting up new pics by osmosis :)

Angie said...

AP, we are boring without you. Please don't ever blow up your router again. Did you do that with the Luger, or what? ;-)

Angie said...

Tara, I'd be shocked if Crystal goes home tonight. Completely shocked. I think it's got to be Casey.

Angie said...

Deb, congrats on the new trees. That is exciting. They're going to be pretty big ones, right? Share pictures with us, K?

twirldawg said...

AP glad you are back.

Nitsirk come out and plaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. We miss you too.

Lisa said...

SW, I watched Lost and thought about you several times during it. I kept thinking that if you said you loved this episode, the engagement might have to end. It wasn't bad at all, just...not what I'd hoped for, I guess.

And just to get your blood boiling a bit within my first 15 minutes back, while I'm no Scietologist (care for a saucer of cult, anyone?), I may have to go jump on the couch with Tom a bit on all this...

:-D

Lisa said...

"AP, we are boring without you. Please don't ever blow up your router again. Did you do that with the Luger, or what? ;-)"

Lol, it's a Ruger and no, I did it with misfired brainpower. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Deb said...

SW - I'll help EL do the dishes, I am not a Lost watcher. Will drink wine though!

I will take photos. I want to do a post on my blog about the old tree and the new trees, but I literally just got the Florida post up this morning! Yes, I procrastinate.... all.of.the.time.

Must be someone else who made the brie stuffed mushrooms, sorry!

Angie said...

AP said: "kept thinking that if you said you loved this episode, the engagement might have to end."

Yeah, wasn't not their diametrically opposed views on pretty much everything in the universe that killed SWAP, it that SW liked the penultimate episode of Lost and AP thought it was "meh."

Whew, I'm glad we dodged that bullet!!

::blushing about the Luger comment::

Lisa said...

SW, Lugers are guns, too, so not like guns and only miss it by a letter? You did good. :-)

So, did I read right that BD is MIA?

Shannon said...

AP I have missed you so much!!!! Glad though that you are back and that it went better then expected.

We did have a loss however....we lost baby birds :(

Shannon said...

DAMMIT apparently blogger still wants to put me into fits!!!

I missed you AP!!!

But now that I said that it will show up so you will know just how much I missed you :)

Shannon said...

Havent seen AP for days

Shannon said...

DAMMIT I MEANT BD!!!

Deb said...

<---Shannon needs a drink - STAT!

Anonymous said...

I thought I was being silly upset about the birds but I e-mailed my family and some workmates today and they are sad too. It was so much fun while it lasted!

Deb said...

Margaret - it's not silly at all. It was a cool thing and you get attached (I know I was!)

Lisa said...

I tried reading a little on my phone and say we were having a baby bird event around there. I'm sorry for those that were lost.

Shannon, calm down before you hurt someone. ;-) I missed you, too!

Angie said...

You weren't being silly, Margaret. It's very sad.

AP, so what's new with you? Anything interesting happening in your neighborhood? Did you catch the recent shuttle launch? That one's on its last mission, right?

BD was on vacation for a week, but I think she was due back before now.

Angie said...

Uh oh, just lost a comment. It's not silly, Margaret. Losing the baby birds is quite sad.

Shannon said...

I think I do need a drink....it may only be 10:30 here but it has to be drink 30 somewhere LOL

Angie said...

And of course there's my comment!

Shannon said...

Is it sadistic when I get happy to see blogger being an ass to others?

Angie said...

Yes, Shannon. Is it a shock that you are a sadist? No.

Shannon said...

Hey now I am only a minor sadist :)

Muliebrity said...

I am upset by the apparent end to the shuttle missions! Seeing a shuttle launch is on my bucket list!

Karen said...

Afternoon Daisys!! Welcome back AP!

Whats new? I have 2 episodes of Lost to catch up on still BEFORE the finale... I'm not happy that AP and SW are both meh about the most recent episode!

Lisa said...

"Did you catch the recent shuttle launch? That one's on its last mission, right?"

Ugh, like I could miss it and it's was the Atlantis' last mission, yes. It shook so hard it knocked one of the metal dragonflies off the outside of my house. Big, big rumbles on that one. That was the day we got out and tried to find a modem/router thingie locally, got caught in shuttle traffic and it took nearly 2 hours to go less than 15 miles. Fun times!

Nothing new in the neighborhood except that we have a new neighbor, he's nice and he has a Pop-A-Lock franchise. It's been quiet...very, very quiet. Oh, and my washer is leaking again. See, nothing new.

Any good recipes passed around here lately?

Muliebrity said...

I though the episode was ok. They have a lot of work to do on the final episode!

Lisa said...

Karen!! :-) And it's not a bad episode at *all. It just left me a little unsatisfied, that's all.

Mulie, you haven't missed a lot, not seeing a shuttle. It's a ball of fire in the sky, that's all. And since you know where the ball of fire came from, it's not even exciting in a "they're coming to get us" way. They're exciting when they blow up, though.

Karen said...

Mulie thats what I'm thinking - how in the hell are they going to wrap up that show in one season finale? I've been expecting more every week and am just a bit scared to watch the finale and be disappointed... I've watched every single episode from day one... and do not want to be disappointed at the ending!!!

Angie said...

I know I'm going to have to talk my best friend off a ledge after the finale is over. She's not taking it well that the show is ending in the first place, and unless she is completely satified by the finale -- and what are the odds of that -- it's not going to be pretty!

Deb said...

Aw, AP. I know we've discussed the shuttle before, and I know how you feel about them. But, for those who have not experienced it, and you do a lot, it *is cool to see, IMO. Plus, remember if they blow up, there are people inside. That's not so exciting.

Karen said...

My daughter is the same way SW - she watched the first 3 seasons while she was staying with us in NY while she was on bedrest, and then she watched it all again! and now we dvr the episodes and wait til she can come and watch with us, and she's getting feisty already that all things will not be answered. Last week when we were watching she said F*CK at something or another, and Tay loudly repeated it... so I think the finale is going to be an R rated event!! No kids around!

Deb said...

I have been trying to get a hold of someone at verizon about our tv channels for*ever and can't seem to find the right option. Talk about a run around! My husband is convinced we should be getting Versus HD so we can watch the hockey games in HD. The regular Versus station hiccups for some reason and it drives us nuts.

Lisa said...

"Aw, AP. I know we've discussed the shuttle before, and I know how you feel about them. But, for those who have not experienced it, and you do a lot, it *is cool to see, IMO. Plus, remember if they blow up, there are people inside. That's not so exciting."

I know, Deb. I was being obnoxious, I'm sorry...I know it's a big deal to those who have never seen one. We're just jaded to it all, even the accidents. Don't get me wrong, I'm not glad to see the program ending the way it is - so many will be unemployed - but I have no love for the Shuttle program, in and of itself. It's such a huge waste.

Lisa said...

Deb, see if you can find something here to get you through to someone. http://gethuman.com/

Lisa said...

Deb, see if you can find something here to get you through to someone. http://gethuman.com/

Muliebrity said...

I still like the idea of going to the moon and am not happy that program is getting scrapped.

What do you all think of yesterday's elections? Rand Paul is an interesting character.

Karen said...

LOL AP that site is definately a helpful one, but I'm not sure we needed it 4 times! You've got the hiccups!!! I'll go get you a spoonful of sugar and some lemon!!

Lisa said...

Mulie, at least going to the moon would possibly be more useful. As for the elections, I was honestly amazed and in the case of Rand Paul, pleasantly so. Despite all the big talk from the administration, when finally allowed to express how they feel by *voting, it looks like Americans are going to make their feelings pretty well known. That said, I feel sorry for Arlen Spector.

Deb said...

Thanks AP, I'll give that a try!

On that note, I must run to get the girls. I'll check in later!

Lisa said...

Oh, lord, I'm sorry. I swear it sent that post repeatedly itself!

Anonymous said...

AP, you're back!!

I've missed you :)

SW - Did you find a good mojito recipe? If you do, could you give it to me? The ones I have are...well, not good ;-)

Hi Karen! Hi Shannon!

. said...

They do have a lot of work to do in the final show! I'm sure we'll all be left with a gazillion questions unanswered. I'm hoping Jin, Sun and Charlie come back from the dead some how. And that Claire gets UN crazy and is reunited with Aaron.
I don't want much, do I? Oh! And I hope we find out who the mother of Jack's son is. Any guesses? I'm sure it's someone we've already "met".

Glad to see you back AP!

Karen said...

Hi Corrinne! I read your blog, and your post about your grandma... made me tear up too - and can I just say again, for the umpteenth time, how impressed I am with your maturity! The situation your grandmother is in is one I hoped so badly not to have my dad in... he had cancer, was in remission, and it came back. He said he did not want to die in the hospital, hooked up to machines and being fed... He was at my house, we had hospice, and he did not eat one single bite of food for 4 weeks... nothing at all. He had sips of ensure until about the final week, and then nothing at all by mouth, but he was comfortable, and he was at my house... and we were with him. I understand how hard this is to watch though!! (((hugs))) for you and your family!! Is this your mom's mom or your dad's?

Muliebrity said...

I feel sorry for Spector too. My cousin worked for him a few campaigns ago and he was really a man of his word. I think he really sent mixed messages the past few years and shot himself in the foot. He gave me the impression he was trying to save his own ass, not serve his constituents.

I love Ron Paul and heard Rand Paul on NPR last week and really like the candidates that respect the Constitution.

Muliebrity said...

I think Juliette is the mother of Jack's son. We haven't seen her yet and they are going through a lot of trouble to keep it from us.

. said...

That's who I was thinking it is too, Mulie.

And I also love Ron Paul.

Karen said...

I was thinking it could be Juliette too! That is one thing that they better answer!!

Muliebrity said...

My sister-in-law and niece that I have never met before are on their way from Texas to visit with us until Sunday. My husband hasn't see his sister in over 25 years and he is 33. Should be interesting...

Anonymous said...

Karen - Thank you. I'm so sorry about what you went through with your dad :( Now, I understand how it can be much harder to watch someone you love suffer rather than have him/her die quickly. Not that the latter would be easy to go through either.

Mulie - Your husband hasn't seen his sister since he was 8? Wow!

Karen said...

Were they raised separately for some reason Mulie, or is she just that much older and had already moved out - or what are the circumstances why they haven't seen each other in so long? Is he excited? Thats very cool!

Anonymous said...

Mulie - I hope you don't go into labor mid-way between the long overdue meet and greet!

Karen said...

I've had that discussion with other people Corrinne and I don't know which would be worse, they both suck, but dying suddenly you don't have the time to say and do the things that you feel like you need to do before they die... ya know? Dying slowly is hard, but the time I spent with my dad during his cancer treatment is something I wouldn't ever give up for anything... I was already a daddy's girl, but taking care of him every single day and watching how strong he was fighting cancer gave me an even deeper understanding of him, and I think him seeing me be the strong one and care for him gave him another view of me too... Either way though, it still is hard to do!

Muliebrity said...

She is much older and they have a weird family. She is is half sister (which no one bothered to tell him until I found out from one of his aunts) and all of his siblings (he's the youngest of 7) were raised in and out of foster care and group homes. He was the only one raised with his parents and he left home at 15. His sister that is coming is the only one, besides my husband, who has had a "normal" successful adult life.

Karen said...

Patti is on her way home, Tay is still napping, the sun is shinging, and laundry is in both washer/dryer so I think its time to go outside and pull some weeds! See you later Daisys!!!

Anonymous said...

Wow - sounds like a lifetime movie.

Anonymous said...

Mulie - Your husband should write a book ;-D

Karen - I guess you're right. Both situations suck. Big time.

Angie said...

Corinne, I've been googling mojito recipes. One that looks interesting calls for a simple syrup in which you steep mint leaves. I'm getting cold feet about mojitos though. I've actually never *had one before, though they sound good. But what if they suck? Might just do wine instead.

Angie said...

Karen, I hope that when it's my turn with my parents, I am able to come through for them the way you did with your Dad, and CK did with her Mom. You guys are an inspiration. Corinne, I haven't read the latest about your grandma, but I hope that she is peaceful and not in pain. I've been thinking about you.

Sandy said...

Is that AP for reals way up there? ::hugs AP coz I really missed her::

Really Frugal said...

Hi. I've been reading along and moping. Can I just say about how people die - they both suck, for us. I guess the quick way is easier on them. The quick way for the survivors is like pulling off a bandaid - it hurts like hell, but the intense pain doesn't last as long as the slow pulling away. My mom died too young, very suddenly. She would have turned 81 on Monday. She's been gone 18 years and I miss her like crazy. That's all i've got. Back to moping.

Anonymous said...

SW - The thing with mojitos is that if you have a good recipe, it is delish! However, if the recipe you have is so-so, it becomes, imo, one of the worst cocktail. But, again, with a good recipe it's wonderful :)

Anonymous said...

I love how SW frets over her menus - that's a REAL southern woman :)

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry you are feeling blue RF.

Anonymous said...

RF - I'm so sorry about your mom. (((hugs)))

Angie said...

RF, I'm sorry you're missing your Mom.

Angie said...

Margaret, "fret" is a good word for it, isn't it? :-) I hope it's charming and not incredibly annoying. I can see that it could go either way.

Muliebrity said...

I keep begging my hubby to write a book! Or at least a graphic novel about his life. He better do it soon or I'm going to do it for him and keep all the money I make selling the story!

Deb said...

RF - I'm sorry you are moping ((HUGS)). I hate the thought of my mom not being around. It scares the hell out of me.

If you want to visit the princesses, go to my blog!

I just cleaned up the great green paint explosion. The little girl I bring home from school a couple of times a week decided she wanted to paint (without telling me) and squeezed the bottle (with the lid on loosely) and exploded green paint everywhere. I sent them all outside so I could clean it all up.

Lisa said...

Yum, back after an early dinner of mussels in a garlic butter broth and garlic bread. Mmmm...come here, let me breathe on you all.

RF, I'm sorry about your mom. Birthdays are always hard, that's one day that never stops giving your heart a twist. I miss my dad more on his birthday than any other day. {{{RF}}}

Corinne, I agree there's no perfect way to die but I've lost more people than I care to think about, 3 of them closer than close to me. One was by accident, two by lingering illness (cancer and AIDS) and of the choices, it was far harder for me to lose the one by accident. You don't get any last goodbyes, you don't get any last touches or smiles to remember, you don't get time to accept anything in your mind before it happens...there's just nothing. That said, I'm betting it's the far easiest on them, as someone said. I suppose we just all have t accept what we're given and look for the bright side to it all. I'm glad you'll be able to say everything to your grandma that you need and want to say, that she'll pass knowing again how loved she is.

Lisa said...

*hugs Sandy back hard*

SW, I learned to make mojitos this way, it's the traditional way and they're wonderful, I think. It's a very fresh and clean tasting drink. I think most people would like them. If someone isn't a rum fan, there's no reason you couldn't substitute vodka at the last minute. http://latinfood.about.com/od/beverages/r/mojito.htm

Really Frugal said...

Thanks, guys. Now I'm bawling, but that's way better than moping. Next step, pull up my white cotton big girl panties and get on with things.

Erin said...

Hey AP- glad to see you back. Went to Philly on a class field trip yesterday. It is going to take me a week to recover! I could fall asleep this minute.

Angie said...

So, AP, you Florida retirees always eat dinner this early? Remember Seinfeld making fun of that? ;-)

I think I'll do a mojito dry run tonight and see how it goes. One recipe I read said you should use lime slices when you muddle, not just sqeeze the juice, because the juice from the skin is important too. Who knows?

Oh, and you are behind so don't know that I don't have any vodka. And also you missed my whole dyke-driving-the-monster-truck phase while you were gone. It wasn't pretty.

Where the hell is Robin today? Hey Robin, AP's back did ya hear???

Angie said...

Erin, I would think one of the worst things about being a mom would be having to go on field trips. And PTA meetings. Those sorts of things sound horrible.

Angie said...

Crappy crapperson. I posted twice and don't see them!

Angie said...

Testing 1 2 3. I posted three posts, saw them post, then refreshed and they were gone. Sigh.

Angie said...

Now two of them are back and one is still gone. Lordy.

SW - I think your menu planning is charming.

Okay, what's up with Daisy?

Angie said...

I posted several posts and then they disappeared.

If anybody's reading, I made my first mojito and it's pretty good.

Angie said...

Don't know if this will post, but by the time I finished the mojito, I liked it an awful lot. Think I'll make another!

twirldawg said...

Hmmm, I might try making one this weekend. I have mint and I love rum.

sw

blogger doesn't like talk of drinks!

(:

the mojito sounds delicious. i made my fabulous taco meat tonight. i promised my lil sis i'd write down the recipe b/c she tried to copy it and feels it is not as 'subtly tasty' as mine was

Blogger is being stupid all over the place.

Really Frugal said...

AP, you come back and break blogger? What's up with that?

AI results are just moments away and I'm so nervous. Gotta go get my ice cream.

My daughter loves mojitos but she uses a mix and adds fresh mint and uses a cane sugar stir stick.

Where is everyone tonight?

Blogger is being dumber than a bag of hammers.

tumbleweedgirl said...

i like to say that blogger is being dumber than a box of rocks.

Rock is burning stuff. lia was greatly impressed with the fire. she has been saying 'szat! szash!' all day. i'm not sure what it means, but it seems to indicate happiness. (:

That is too cute TWG....I love it when little ones make their own words and sounds so that everyone around them gets to guess the meaning.

My nephew was like that but he had the same "word" for like 5 different things the only difference was the inflection in how he said it.

Sandy said...

I know I posted here earlier. Blogger doesn't like me. ::sulking in the corner::

Angie said...

Rhys, very cute Lia words! Will you post your taco meat recipe here please?

Lisa said...

SW, I did miss all the truck excitement...what happened? And lord, I'm jealous. I miss driving a truck. And I think I'd love the lime oil from the skin in a mojito, traditional or not.

I'm here, Sandy. I'm *sighs happily* farming.

Rhys, how do you make your taco meat?

Angie said...

Modern family is the funniest show on TV. It makes me howl!

Erin said...

Gah. I don't think blogger likes *anybody tonight.

Lisa said...

Newflash, literally...anyone have (or do your kids have) Miley Cyrus jewelry? A lot of it is being pulled for high levels of cadmium. I have no idea what cadmium can do to you, though...probably increase your hormones to the point you act like a slut or something while remaining 16 for 3 years. Anyway, just an FYI.

Do we have any updates on Chris? I dreamed about him the other night. I dreamed I picked him up at the airport, walker thingie and all and insisted on taking him straight to the beach and making him walk in the sand. He got so pissed off but I kept telling him it would strengthen him and made him walk miles and miles. Then I made him climb up on the fake surfing thing at the pier and took like 800 pictures of him posing in various positions on the surfboard with the plywood wave behind him. I was a total asshole...lol. So, is he doing okay?

Erin said...

AP- is it funny that I can *totally see something like that happening??

Really Frugal said...

AP, drawing on my aging memory, not much new with Chris ther than coughing out a handful of pills to send his sister scurrying to retrieve what she could. I think she is taking a break from Chris care to be part of the Daisy bird people.

Really Frugal said...

When you made him walk on the beach did you dress him in a pink hoodie?

Lisa said...

EL, it's not funny at all. Not even a little bit. *shifts uncomfortably* And I hope Elisabeth is able to rest some.

RF, I have no idea what he was wearing, although now I wish I do. I think I'd remember a pink hoodie since I'd have laughed at him.

Really Frugal said...

Darn, AP, I don't think I was supposed to repeat about the pills, because Chris was afraid it would say something about his ability to *swallow. Pretend I never mentioned it, OK?

Sandy said...

Is Blogger being a poop tonight?

Oopsie Daisy said...

*new post up and pointedly ignoring Chris' propensity to just spit now*
