Christy, he will if I ask him to. To just go in and do it, no. He knows my kitchen is sort of like my purse and I don't like anyone messing in it without asking first.
It was probably just your virus protection warning you of potential straight porn. I can imagine that would not be something pleasant for you too see, AP.
Man, I wish this day was OVER! I had too much fun ::ifyouknowwhatImean:: last night and I'm sooo flippin tired!
Got a quick gardening/flower/plant question for anyone who may have the answer; What's a pretty, somewhat tropical-esq flower that's easy to keep alive? We have a very small patio, we're stivking a small potted palm in the corner and I wanted to do something kind of bright and pretty in a box, any suggestions?
Regina, hibiscus and bougainvillea would both work, I think, and are hardy. Or are you meaning something very small? If so, impatiens are pretty good and very colorful.
CK, the BF calls those old lady flowers :( Actually, and I quote, "Those are a little too 'old-lady' for me. Actually, the *house* is getting to be too 'old-lady' with all your knick-knacks everywhere."
My Mom and Dad had two gorgeous magnolia trees in their yard that they planted from tiny babies. Twenty years later they were stunning. And they chopped them down, saying they "made too much mess" dropping leaves and their roots were too close to the surface. I've never understood why people would rather have perfect grass than trees. Except for the whole grass doesn't fall on your house and break it thing.
I am sure you are Mulie! I'd give you a hug, but I remember when I was that far along I wanted to smack people when they started in on hugs. So I will stand back here and nod at you.
When my Orchid bursts, I will post a pic on MY NEW FIRST EVER BLOG in honor of you.
It is that...and pathetic. I don't think I have been online this long in years. And I am (way) old enough to know that just because your computer is online, does NOT mean you have to keep checking it :-D
So am I the only parent of teens that gets touchy when they bring their significant other home after school at 4:30 and then proceeds to feed both of them.....WHILE DINNER IS OBVIOUSLY SITTING ON THE COUNTER IN THE ROASTER COOKING??!!!!
Oh I *love magnolia trees. They are my favorite tree and one of my favorite flowers. They are so beautiful and stately, if you see one you half expect Scarlet O'Hara to be sitting under its shade, dressed in drapes, reading "how NOT to be a shameless huz".
So I have a discussion topic for the daisies. Chris recently decided he wanted to donate blood because he was given several units of blood at various times in his ICU stay. Long story short-ish, the questionaire thing asked something like "do you or have you in the last xx days engaged in same-sex sex?" and he answered honestly of course. Now it turns out all his medications would have precluded him from donating blood. BUT the redcross lady said even if his blood wasn't more opiates, muscle relaxents, and blood thinners than it was actual blood products.......he STILL would not be allowed to donate because of him being gay.
Have any of you ever heard of this ridiculous practice?? Chris asked if he was to show proof that he was HIV neg, would he theoretically be allowed to donate. And she said NO! He and I both are baffled and angered. Do any of you have any thoughts? Chris is now saying he may want to change his status as an organ donor because "if my blood is too queer then my organs are probably only fit for a dying Nathan Lane".
We haven't done our homework to see if this is a bank "policy" or if the person we dealt with is a horrible homophobe OR just someone who has what is hopefully very outdated forms.
Elisabeth I went to donate blood and saw that too. Honestly it made me laugh because it only counts for men being with other men but a woman can be a total whore and have a different man every hour of every day but if a man has sex with another man even once their blood is no good anymore.
Elisabeth--I dunno specifically about that, but I do know that they won't let you donate if you've had a tattoo in the 12 months prior to donating. It has to do with the risk of HepB.
I know it sucks, but at the same time...I appreciate that they have unruly rules for the blood supply they give to the elderly and newborn babies.
While Chris's blood may be as pure as all that was given him when he needed blood, not everyone who might choose to donate necessarily would be. And I appreciate their caution. Is it a bit offensive? Yes. It is.
But I'm sure Ryan White's parents were devastated that he got a then fatal disease from a necessary blood transfusion. Unfortunately, not everyone who gives blood or blood products has a altruistic motive, and it's a GOOD thing that blood banks have standards for donation, even if they lock capable people out.
Elisabeth, What a bunch of BS! I would happily accept (clean) gay blood. (For the record: I want any all blood to be clean, not just gay blood).
If it makes Chris feel any better, I can't give blood for at least a year after popping out a baby and the same goes for tattoos and piercings. I also think that if you ate meat in Britain in the 90's, you can't give either. They are just crazy protective about blood, but it is supposedly all screened. It might seem like discrimination and since it seems like gay men are always getting taken in the rear (I couldn't resist) by the public, but I think it *might be just a rule.
I think I knew that about blood donation, Elisabeth, and I think it's outrageous.
So I went by the drugstore after work to pick up a prescription, and the guy at the pharmacy counter had those things in his earlobes where there's a giant gaping hole and a metal thing keeping the giant gaping hole open. Those things Freak. Me. Out. More than the hooks in Shannon's hubby's back even. ;-) So I can't look the guy in the eye because those gaping holes try and draw my eyes away. I'll probably have a nightmare about it tonight.
My dinner was/is a delicious salad with iceberg lettuce, cucumber and tomatoes and reheated pizza. Partly healthy is better than not healthy at all, right?
Hello Daisies, Sorry been MIA lost my Brother in Law last week to a car accident and my MiL lost it so hubby and I had to take the reins and make all the arrangements for his services and such. Been a long hard week since I also started my new job 3 days after he passed. Now up north a bit getting the final 'off floor' training for the new job. Nice to be just me and a hotel room :) and a hot tub and a pool and a sauna lol.
Thanks Jill, I can finally think of him without totally losing it. The first few days I was putting his memorials together and would just stop and cry for a good 20 minutes. Now it's down to once a day or so.
Thanks SW :) I actually get 3 nights up here...I feel guilty that I am away from it all but I also know how close I was to just losing it which I can't afford to do until all training is done
lol regina, it came out just fine, Hubby is jealous of it also..I have had the boys every free minute of the last week and a half and now he has to be parent..he would rather be doing my training for me lol
Ginger, Sorry for your loss. Hubby's brother passed in Nov and all the planning fell to us and I know how stressful and depressing that can all be. Just when you think you are getting over it, his bill collectors start calling looking for money. (My BIL, not yours).
lol Regina, I thought so as well, it was at Applebees, not usually a fan but it was walking distance to the hotel and since co worker was gonna do the Ritas as swell we thought is was a safer place to go :)
Mulie, he was 29 with a 2 yr old daughter and we just found out monday (after he passed) that he has a boy on the way, due Sept 28 and his bills have already started, he left nothing and it was my MiLs car he crashed, fully loaned and no insurance on it so now they are carless while paying off the loan, not to mention his regular bills..he had a lot for someone without a job
Ginger I am so sorry for your loss and glad that you were there to be the help and support your MIL needed right now.
SW they are earrings. They are gauged to what ever size you want and then you wear plugs.
My husbands earlobes are 1 1/4 inches. My friend has 1 3/4. Another friend has 2". I had small ones compared to them and had to let them close for now because I was having a hard time with the metal in the plugs I have so I have to wait until I get some glass ones.
Thank you French Teacher and Shannon Regina, it's always hard after a baby is born to go on work trips. I loved em once I got rid of my..only I can see too all my baby's needs...phase
Shannon, I think I need to get your husband to sit and talk to me and let me look at his ears for a long time until I get over it. I'm sure it's just fear of the unknown.
Ginger, I love to stay in a nice hotel by myself. Order room service! Love it.
Ginger!!! I have missed you and was worried about not hearing from you because of your new job training. I am so sorry to hear about your BIL and what you and your dh have gone through. ((())) Enjoy that hotel time away and margaritas! Have you tried a Cadillac one? Yummmmm!
Ginger, I am truly truly sorry about your family's loss. I know nothing I can say will ease your grief right now........I just wanted to let you know that my family will be praying for yours. I'm sure your SIL is going to need you and your husband to continue being strong support towers for her to hold on to, lean against you, and sometimes just stand with her. I'm glad she has such a strong support system and I will keep you in my prayers as these difficult days, weeks, and months unwind.
Elisabeth - Yes. It is insulting. However, my concern is much, much more for Chris. At this time he needs all of his blood supply to keep him strong and healthy. Depleting his own supply and the subsequent having to rebuild it is not what his body needs to be focused on right now. I admire so much his generosity and wanting to give back. That is awesome!
i only feel that way about lia. she just still seems so breakable at times. this stupid cough thing doesn't help either.
we were able to leave her and zaya for a bit on saturday for a date. the family i shot is used to fragile children. one of theirs is such as well. they passed her around, stayed super clean, and fed her lots of nice food.
it was really restful for Rock and i to sneak away for a bit.
Nope, straight from the LBC. Long Beach, you know, home of Sublime and Snoop. Hahaha, if it sounds cheesy that's cause it is, but all jokes aside, I really do love it here.
Hi kaytie and ty hon :) My new job is very interesting, i did 3 days on the floor last week and I am SOOO glad I will be nights not days, between one tying to kill himself with a shoe string and another one trying to kill a psych DR and throwing a glass (wth were they thinking GLASS on a psych unit) flower vase over the nursing desk and hitting 2 of us I would never make it on days. Thanks Erin and Elisabeth, BiL's ex is more worried about the money she won't get now over anything. I try to be there for her..I was the one who had to tell her..very hard and she makes it harder right now, we have told her she will be ok and that the kids wil be taken care of..she doesn't and won't know it but I have started a trust fund for the kids so that they will be able to go to school if they choose to after high school of they will get it at 25 after they have established themselves..it has stipulations on it so they work for what they get and appreciate it more.
TY tumbleweed girl, and my oldest didn't stay over night anywhere until he was 5 and youngest hasn't yet since when oldest stays over it is usually to get away from lil bro :)
I am going to go watch youtube now :) got a new upgraded photo editing program that has way more toys than I am used to for Mothers day so gonna do some tutorials :)
Ginger - Psych scares the bejees out of me, day or night! My hat is off to you! What you are doing and how you are doing it by setting up a Trust Fund is so generous.
Peace out, ladies. Tell the AlpaCKa that her German Sausage will be safe, but I will require many used Kleenex's and Q-Tips for his safety to be insured.
CK - My mom and Dad moved me out of the Dorm once...I proudly (and I guess successfully) asserted my Independence (After all, I am an AGD Legacy that dared to be a GDI Dormie)...and from there on out I got to move myself LOL! And to this day my mom was my bestest buddy.
Everyone is welcome! The only real rules here are no spamming shit and no posting personal addresses, phone numbers or other similar info. I don't need that kind of stress. That's it, although it could change if someone gets creative or something. If you don't like what is said here, you can: 1) Say so; 2) Hold it in and stew on it; 3. Address it privately to the person who said it; 4) Snark about it to your friends; 5) Leave. Don't bother me with it, I don't care and I won't get involved. I might, however, talk about you behind your back or post your email/message to me on here. *grins*
Them's the rules...all of them.
Have fun!

hehe You all should check out www.gwop.blogspot.com
Nope Mulie...I already made that mistake!
I don't get anything but some myspace links when I go to that link.
Don't go there! I just went and all my virus protection stuff (I believe in overkill) kicked in with loud warnings!
Haha, Christy. I thought someone may have mentioned it, but I wasn't paying attention then.
THREAT WAS BEEN DETECTED - DING!DING!DING!
Yeah, don't go there.
Robin, it's porn!
Wait. Whu? What's going on? I am lost. lol.
Oh crap! lol. Probably not even *good porn!
Wow I wasn't posting porn just thought it was creepy she put up her kid. Nevermind.
LOL coming in a little late her but there is NO way that is Noah....none at all....not even a chance. I mean hello for one he is 13 years old not 30.
Ok done because I dont like talking about such things but I also wont sit by and let speculation about a little boy get started either.
It was probably just your virus protection warning you of potential straight porn. I can imagine that would not be something pleasant for you too see, AP.
Haha Mulie :)
Mulie, straight sex doesn't disgust me...sheeesh. I just don't want to *have it.
's allright, AP, I'm having enough for the both of us. :-D
RiM, you're having enough for all of Montana ;)
Is there a flower called a "hussy"? 'Cause that's what Robin is. ;-)
Hey!!!!!
'ello daisies!

PS, I kill plants dead. For reals.
Thx!
::takes a swing at SW too:::
I don't know about plants,RP. I kill them, too!

Regina, hibiscus and bougainvillea would both work, I think, and are hardy. Or are you meaning something very small? If so, impatiens are pretty good and very colorful.
I've tried to kill impatiens, but copious amounts of water have saved them.
They probably don't like full sun.
Christy, thamks!
AP, I was thinking bougainvillea too, but does that work in a pot? I'm actually doing one of those trough hanging off the wall things.
RP...that link was for RiM and SW!
CK, the BF calls those old lady flowers :( Actually, and I quote, "Those are a little too 'old-lady' for me. Actually, the *house* is getting to be too 'old-lady' with all your knick-knacks everywhere."
What. A. Tool.
Ohhh, may I use it? :)
"AP, I was thinking bougainvillea too, but does that work in a pot? I'm actually doing one of those trough hanging off the wall things."
Sure, just keep it pruned back and know they get big-ass thorns that can rip your spleen out.
You sure can! It was just a little inside joke!
RP
stivking and thamks?
Careful, there *girl, someone might tease you about your spelling!
AP, ya, my parents had a ginormous mush, errr tree in their back yard. Shit was crazy!!!
Christy - I just now saw that! LOL! I need to plant some of those!
Don't start with the spelling poliCKe or AP will definitely have to put up another thread.
Our magnolia tree was put to rest today. It got destroyed in the blizzard. I loved that tree - I'm in mourning :(
Backing off, Mulie
Headbanging, duct tape, porn, "brazen hussies"...?
Just another day in the Daisy Patch.
I can see the Headlines now :-D
Sorry, Margaret. :-( Magnolia trees are so pretty.
Margaret - (((()))) That is a solemn event.

Lord, *now it picks up around here. Well, we're just going to run with a lot of comments until midnight. I wish you people were consistent!
Did y'all see Lena Horne died? When I was a kid, I used to think she was the most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. So sad, another great gone. :-(
Betty White was out partying until 3:00 a.m. after her SNL appearance. It was the highest rated show ever.
See, us old folks can still do it....
I'm out to move my daughter out of her dorm. Being my own Alpaca should come in handy.
I did see that AP :-(
Good luCK with the move alpaCKa - see you when you get baCKa.
.09 GBs remaining :-D
Good one Kaytie!
"Wanted to let you know, my tall, thin, beautiful white with a hint of violet orchid is about ready to burst open. Made me think of you"
I may *not be as tall and thin as I have been presenting, but I definitely feel ready to burst open!
Christy - Thankyouverymuch :-D
Have you seen this? Now they tell me.

So, I made a real classy dinner tonight, Hamburger Helper(and it was gooood!).
What are y'all making?

Oh and my dinner was a delicious spinach and artichoke dip with chips and a bacon cheddar burger with an awesome margarita on the side :) lol
SW...I'm pretty sure some in Shannon's family have those ear things, too. I think it's called gauging.
Ginger, so sorry about your brother-in-law. Sounds like you deserve a nice solo night in a hotel room.
Thanks Jill, I can finally think of him without totally losing it. The first few days I was putting his memorials together and would just stop and cry for a good 20 minutes. Now it's down to once a day or so.
It Freaks. Me. Out. I tell you.
Evan L is giving me a craving for Cheetos.
twg, I adore black beans, sounds yummy!
sw, That is healthy! I served fresh veggies with my oh-so-white-trash dinner, does that count?
Ginger, I'm sorry for your family's loss, I'm jealous of the hot tub and the alone time. Wait, that didn't come out right. ;)
Thanks SW :) I actually get 3 nights up here...I feel guilty that I am away from it all but I also know how close I was to just losing it which I can't afford to do until all training is done

Ginger - sorry to hear about your BIL.
Next week I'm going out of town for work, I'll get three nights away as well. So looking forward to it.

CK's dog won't stop pooping. Total chaos! :D
I still feel that way about my 4 year old, and I keep exacerbating the problem by adding more helpless babies.
Oh, at 19 months here and anyone can take the little monster off my hands if they wish. :) Just kidding.
Kind of.

Bella - Keep an eye on your Cheetos supply.
Fo' shizzle my nizzle, Regina!
TY tumbleweed girl, and my oldest didn't stay over night anywhere until he was 5 and youngest hasn't yet since when oldest stays over it is usually to get away from lil bro :)
That's whats up, Bella. ;)
Have fun Ginger!
Bella if you don't watch OZzy, he'll be pooping CK's dog.
BELLA!!!
(screamed ala "Stella" in Streetcar Named Desire)
Where is CKanine? I see Ozzy's licking his lips, belching and farting in German.
Lady, I have no idea what happened to your pooch.
*Urp!
My sister and nephew are here for an impromptu visit, catch y'all later!
Where the hell am I? Some room with a bunch of gasbags, talking about nonsense?
Peace out, ladies. Tell the AlpaCKa that her German Sausage will be safe, but I will require many used Kleenex's and Q-Tips for his safety to be insured.
Daughter all moved out. In.The.Rain. It.Sucked.
Bella,
Ozzy is going to get his ass kicked by the KGB for taking CKanine hostage.
CK - YuCK to moving dtr out of dorm in the rain. You are such a nice mom :-D
You all have me laughing again. Who needs cable or satellite?
Okay, she's wearing flip flips, a mini skirt, a sweater ala "Maude" (almost touching the ground).
Great attire for moving stuff down a flight of stairs and out to the trailer in the cold rain.
I held my tongue.
Oh good lord CK has she ever moved before. I like to bust out steel toed boots, long sleeved shirts, and Carharts.
You didn't tell her to get in decent clothing suitable for moving her CKrap?
"I like to bust out steel toed boots, long sleeved shirts, and Carharts."
And a do-rag.
Mulie - she would have deCKed me if I did that. Doesn't take advice from her mom very well.
She'll come around. We DO have this great, deep down connection that just needs to be ignored (by her) while she asserts her independence.
The Husband totally stepped up to the plate and did more than his share tonight.
Especially valuable was his willingness to let me make faces at him about daughter's bad mood (when she wasn't looking).
Carpool again tomorrow morning, so it's an early one.
Off to put my old alpaca self to bed.
Glad you did have to craCK the whip too hard on your husband or dd!
Good night, CK!
I sure hope your baCK doesn't hurt tomorrow.
I'm out for the night, goodnight all.
Me too. See you all in the morning. I am setting my alarm for the *correct time. ::still kicking my dumb ass::
Uh-oh, I had a very long nap.
Ginger, I'm awfully sorry about your BIL. :-(
Goodnight, FT and anyone else going. I'm still all muffly headed. *yawns* Will try to catch up and grasp what I read.
