First! Where's my tiara? Sip? Nothing? Well $#*@!

Robin said: "The documentary about prisons who have the BLM Mustang training programs? Make me bawl like an idiot every time - love that connection that an animal and human can have."

Any program where they pair prisoners with animals makes me bawl too. I don't understand why there aren't more such programs. But my gut says it's because so many people really want prisoners to do nothing but suffer. God forbid they actually have something to care for that makes them better people.

So it's a fantastic day in North Alabama. 72 degrees and sunny. People are leaving the office is droves to enjoy the day. I've been unproductive this week though, so I'm stuck here for the foreseeable future. Dang.

Anonymous said...

SW, I can give you coffe and donut gems! It's near 70 here right now and we're getting snow tomorrow.

Anonymous said...

That would be coffee. Obviously I haven't had enough today.

Angie said...

Snow? Dang, that sucks. Thanks for the coffee and donuts!

Lisa said...

SW, thanks for the new post alert. I completely forgot did that. And no! No tiaras, no sips, nothing.

I was over reading on MWoP. It's a slow day there, too. If someone tells me it's hopping over on SIP I'm going to be mad I left.

I'm watching the damn owl. My cockatiel is flipping out with all the other birds you can hear.

PJ said...

Hi imaginary friends.

I'm taking a REAL vacation day today - not working, not doing laundry, not cooking - being more of a couch potato than usual.

And I have a different IP for the day, so if anyone has anything really important to say to JM, let me know. I can post it on her comments.

Lisa said...

I watched it for awhile yesterday, Sandy. I think I'm not sharing the thrill, though. "oh, oooooh, it looked up." That just doesn't hold me for long.

Margo said...

I've never heard about prison/animal programs - it's an interesting idea.

The weather is so nice here but I know it's just a teaser. I'm enjoying it all the same.

Lisa said...

CK, ask her if she would have liked reading about her parents not getting along, their sex life, her dad's porn addition and the fact he has a small penis when she was, say, 12. And, more importantly, if she'd have liked her *friends reading it.

Lisa said...

Oh, and enjoy your day off, CK!

Margo said...

AP - slow day on mwop but I had to check out the camping video, it sounds like she's asking the kids questions from a script.

PJ said...

That owl cam is so cool - but dinner time kind of made my stomach turn.

PJ said...

Sandy,
Anything new from the douche school?

Margo said...

CK - ask her if she'll let IM ghost write my blog.

Anonymous said...

CK, nothing today which is a good thing. C said she was going to try really hard to do what she's suppose to do. Good kid!

PJ said...

Got it -
should I sign your names? Hehe.

I've heard her on TV before (eyes and ears meet bleach) - and on the camping she actually sounded a bit warmer and kinder than I've ever heard her.

Her kids seemed very average - I wasn't feeling "wow" over anything exceptionally cute they said or did. But I did love how Stellan punched his brother. You go, little guy!

She kind of overreacted about it - kept repeating herself.

Lisa said...

Margaret, I watched it and it was definitely a bit scripted. She asked the same things in the same order but I guess I don't have the big issues with that that some do. I mean, big deal if she wants to actually make a video for her blog, you know? I admit to being a little surprised at how lightly she blew off Stellan hitting Cullen, though.

PJ said...

Hmmmm - interesting AP. I thought she overreacted and you thought she blew off the behavior. But we can still be friends, right?

Lisa said...

"Got it -
should I sign your names? Hehe."

Oh, just signed it "The Daisies".

Funny how you thought she over-reacted about the hitting and I thought she didn't react enough, though.

I will say, and no snark intended in this at all either, that I think her kids are awfully average looking. I don't get people raving on about them. And don't even get me started on PW's kids. :-X

PJ said...

Echo, echo, echo.....

PJ said...

I guess for me just yelling at him twice, saying the same thing (which is what I remember her doing) wasn't appropriate discipline for a little boy his age.

But god forbid she put down the video camera and deal with it on a more developmentally appropriate level.

Margo said...

I didn't watch the whole thing - I was afraid she'd say YUUUP and I didn't want to vomit on such a beautiful day :)

Melissa said...

CK-off topic but has anyone ever told you that at first glance your avatar looks like white (as opposed to brass) knuckles?

Angie said...

Somebody posted this on FB today, and it's pretty cute:

Two women were sitting next to each other at a bar. After a while one looks at the other and says, 'I can't help but think, from listening to you, that you're from Ireland.'

The other woman responds proudly, 'Yes, I sure am!'

The first one says, 'So am I! And where about in Ireland are ya from ?'
The other woman answers, 'I'm from St. John's , I am.'
The first one responds, 'So, am I!! And what street did you live on?'
The other woman says, 'A lovely little area, it was in the west end. I lived on Warbury Street in the old central part of town.'
The first one says, 'Faith and it's a small world. So did I! So did I! And what school did ya go to?'
The other woman answers, 'Well now, I went to Holy Heart of Mary, of course.'
The first one gets really excited and says, 'And so did I. Tell me, what year did you graduate?'
The other woman answers, 'Well, now, let's see. I graduated in 1979.'
The first woman exclaims, 'The Good Lord must be smiling down upon us ! I can hardly believe our good luck at winding up in the same pub tonight. Can you believe it, I graduated from Holy Heart of Mary in 1979 me self.'

About this time, Michael walks into the bar, sits down and orders a beer. Brian, the bartender, walks over to Michael, shaking his head and mutters, 'It's going to be a long night tonight.'

Michael asks, ' Why do you say that, Brian?'
Brian answers, 'The Murphy twins are drunk again.'

Good one SW!

Robin in Montana said...

LOL, SW. I myself have been a victim of that kind of chit-chattiness.

Angie said...

Only a victim, Robin? Not a perpetrator? ;-)

Thanks a lot, ladies, for adding the freaking owl box to my tools for avoiding work!

Robin in Montana said...

I'm always the victim, SW. I never cause any trouble. ::shakes head::

Angie said...

Yeah, that's not what the pamphlet the JW's left on my door said about you!

PJ said...

Funny, SW. Thanks for the laugh.
Melissa - yes - brass knuckles that say Grace - your ironic?

Damn it, you are loved - take that (whack)!

PJ said...

your ironic = how ironic?

Melissa said...

I dunno what it is...everytime I look at it I don't see the word Grace unless I click on it. I guess it's just one of those things.

PJ said...

Cleaning = ugh.

I did watch the camping video and it sounded so fake, rehearsed, why does she sound like she is interviewing her own kids? That is not even a natural-sounding conversation, and the kids don't even know what she is asking half the time. They look genuinely confused.

I did *not like at all the way she reacted (that is to say, barely) to Stellan hitting Nuggey. If my oldest had been hit by his little brother, he would have been bouncing all over the house. That is not a normal occurrence around here because the first couple of times it happened I dealt with it =swiftly=. And it did not repeat itself, believe me. Even Nuggey stops looking surprised after the first few seconds. Made me so mad.

I think it was Brent Riggs who once wrote a piece on how he and his wife Michelle had to be very conscious in how they disciplined their critically ill daughter, that is, that they treated her like a normal child in this respect. If they hadn't, she would have become a petulant, demanding, annoying little girl with a grand sense of entitlement. It is very tempting to let things go, and coddle, and let kids who are ill(or who have been) get away with murder but those parents are doing the children such a disservice. Stellan is no more special than any of the other kids, period. I hope this is not a pattern but I suspect it is.

PJ said...

Like SW's cute story about the twins.

Angie said...

CK, I don't see what you're talking about. The story about the twins is still there, on my screen.

Nilia said...

CK: nope no problems with posts today.

Robin in Montana said...

::takes a swing at SW::

Very funny aside, after the conversation about JW's yesterday (the other day?) I had them at my door today. It's an old couple, they were alone in the car, and I very seriously doubt they knew it was me, but they did not knock, just left a tract stuck in my door.

PJ said...

Rebooted - I'm good again.

JM sent sheeple to chew on internet cable at my location not to be disclosed.

Robin in Montana said...

I need to watch the camping video. I don't know if my nerves are up to it just yet. I might tackle it tonight after a few vodkas.

Silly, and not a good parenting method at all, and definitely *not how we were raised, but my mom used to be fond of saying something to the effect of, "if one of my kids ever hit the other, there'd be twe hits -- the sound of them hitting the other, and the sound of *that one hitting the ground."

Eh, my mom. Much like me, she talked a lot tougher than she really was. :-D

Nilia said...

I'm out until later tonight, off to run some errands and then have dinner with my Shortround.

Catch you all later.

I was impressed with Stellan playing Whack-A-Bro because it showed him being a normal little toddler. Hopefully past being sick (albeit exaggerated by his mother).

Hey guys, I'm awake (but very very tired) and I don't wanna visit Mckwhore's house of lies.. today. She just annoys me sometimes, I find her so.. so fake and disgusting. Like someone I'd like to physically harm. And this is coming from me, who is very sweet to most. Meh.

How is everyone?

Ft- shortround pics, I demand more of them. He's such a dashing baby. And I don't find many new babies attractive, they tend to look like tiny troll/alien hybrids. Even my own did. Little creepy gollums, but not shortround :D

Ap- days ok, visiting with my favorite cousin. He's such a sweet person, makes me feel all fluffy. He's very close to a 'big brother' for me.

Sw- Hiii :D I've decided that when you and AP get married, I'm gonna stand up when the pastor is like "Does anybody have any reason why these two should not be wed" and be like "Ah do, she's a wearin ma fawke twweeth" That or 'She lost her virginity to an inflatable sheep!" http://www.muttonbone.com/ P.s I don't expect an invite to the reception. (go to the link, yu know you wanna. NSFW, but safe for.. everything else.

PJ said...

LFoB - I looked - what a funny thing.

Angie said...

LOL for the love sheep! Hi LFoB! I like you, but keep your hands off my AP, kthxbye.

Lisa said...

LFoB, the sheep thing? Is killing me. Did y'all read the specs?

http://www.muttonbone.com/inflatable-sheep-specs/

"A: Vanity Flap

…or “tail”. The vanity flap is there to keep the sexual tension and mystery alive between you and your sheep."

Lisa said...

And you're coming to the reception!

Robin in Montana said...

Oh, God. My dad decided, after 40-some years of being a cattle rancher that he'd raise sheep. I was 12, and used to working around animals, and my job was to vaccinate the lambs -- we bought 700 head of ewes and each one typically (but not always) has twins, sometimes triplets. Then a bunch of them (like 75 head or so) died and we had that many bum lambs. Some could be grafted to other ewes to raise; but not all. One bum lamb is cute and fun. Mixing milk in multiple 5-gallon buckets and feeding 100-and some bum lambs? Not fun.

I hate sheep. Hate. Them.

Anonymous said...

Lordy be, the first time I am in the same room with Kay in months, and she is posting sheep sex aids :D

Hi Kay!

Anonymous said...

From the specs page:

"Close your eyes and trace the gentle slope from the small of her back to the flare of her pelvic girdle with the appendage of your choice."

Angie said...

ROFL Bella! Those specs are almost as funny as the vulva pendant specs!

Angie said...

An orphan lamb is called a "bum lamb" Robin? :-(

Speaking of things that make me misty, where's our Shortround 2 update? And picture?

kristin said...

Hey ladies - I'm back - my feet are killing me but it was a gorgeous day and I ran into 2 HS classmates - small world.

Still catching up on this post. Hope everyone is doing well!

Angie said...

Hey Kristin! I guess you guys had fun?

Lisa said...

Hey, Kristin...glad you had a good day. Make LM rub your feet. He's still young enough to not object. ;-)

I'm debating about going to to store. I was going to make shit on a shingle tonight but have no bread or biscuits and I think I'm too lazy to make any. On the other hand, going to the store involves getting dressed. Would be be awful to have just gravy for dinner?

Angie said...

AP, I think gravy for dinner is fine, really. But I'm not that far removed from my white trash roots. So you probably should get another opinion.

Lisa said...

SW, it just seems wrong. Good, but wrong. I found Ritz crackers...we might go with that.

kristin said...

Oh Lawd - the sheep - seriously?

We saw sheep at the livestock show :) I really wanted to see more animals but LM was being a little defiant and wanted to go outside.

He did ride his first pony today :) and I got to ride the big slide with him, that was fun :)

Hey LFoB!

Angie said...

Ritz crackers? Yup, that makes it much more classy. ::nods::

Why

Angie said...

Hmmm. that posted before I was ready. I meant to say, why don't you turn your sausage into a nice dip for the crackers? Kind of like gravy, but not.

Lisa said...

I'm using hamburger, not sausage. I don't like sausage SOS as much and we've already had chorizo with scrambled eggs today. I *could make the trip out worthwhile and run by the liquor store, too.

Robin in Montana said...

AP - Well, you know me, that's what I'd vote for. :nods:

SOS sounds good. i have no idea what we're going to have. No kids, but we have to move some firewood and a load of misc. crap.

SW -- Yes, bum lambs, bum calves, whatever. Have to be fed from a bottle. Every 25 seconds. Or so.

Kritin -- the livestock show sounds fun.

Life full of bRATS said...

Every 25 seconds. I laughed so hard I snorted.. lol

Life full of bRATS said...

We always used the term doegie.. doegie lambs. But yes, and they soon learn you provide the food and do this most annoying sound EVER it's this loud "bbaaaaghhhhhhhhh" that makes you wanna have lamb chops.

AP - I like gravy with rice - that's why I'm a fat ass!

Lisa said...

"Google just confirmed that my child hood was run by freaks, oh well, pass the pudding."

See, this is why I adore you. You get right to the point and then accept it with fattening food.

Lisa said...

Oh, Margaret, you can't have shit on a shingle with rice. That would be, well, blasphemy. Now, if it were brown gravy...

Margo said...

Bella, you wrote a couple of days ago you were thinking of sponsoring a CI child. I donate to an org that has a school and hosp in Kabul but they also have an orphanage in Nairobi. They are a no nonsense operation- www.womentotheworld.org. I'm careful with my donation dollars as I want it to go to the need not douche canoes on vacation :)

Life full of bRATS said...

I <3 fattening food, I'm malnourished enough that I can pretty much each what I want.. to a point. No sushi, nothing raw, avoid things that could lead to infections/viruses/bacteria etc. Secondary infections are the enemy. But I've cheated with sushi, I love sushi.. Lord what I'd give for sushi RIGHT now. Instead we're having tomato soup.

kristin said...

Oh, and I have to say - I asked him what his favorite part was - he said the truck -

not the ride on the pony, not the slide, not riding the airplane - nope, the truck i paid $10.00 for that is a piece of crap that I probably could have gotten at Wal-mart for $5.00.

Doggie is awesome! I am in tears now, though. I have had a wonderful day. A dear friend and I went to a local nursery this afternoon and bought rose plants. On the way back we saw a post for "lost yellow dog". I did the right thing and called. The owner said she lost "Rusty" Monday when she was evicted from a house a couple miles from here. I know the house and it is a suspected drug house. She is now living in a Hotel No Tell. She said she would be here at 8 pm to get "Rusty". After thinking on it, I called her back and asked her if during this "stressful time for her" (her words) would she like us to keep "Rusty" here. She said, "Please, yes". She is still coming out at 8 to meet us and bring his vets info and special food. I hope I am doing the right thing.

Glad to hear all are happy and healthy!

I'm working on a post right now!

why would someone/anyone be jealous of someone who has 4/5 kids, has had 2 houses foreclosed on, 1 vehicle repo'd, sheeple falling at her feet, others who dislike her something fierce, and a family who doesn't seem to give 2 shits about her, oh and a husband who is violent and been in jail.

Yup - I'm really jealous. Whatever!

Instead - I pay my rent on time, make my truck payment, work for my money, have a little boy who loves his mommy and an SO who is a decent guy and a family that cares for me and will watch my son if I need them to.

She's beautiful. 2 lbs., 8 oz. and 14" long, but everything seems fine. She's crying, etc. They have to do ultrasounds to check for bleeding on the brain over the next few days, but everything seems on the up and up.

BD, that's both scary and wonderful news about your friend and her baby. So very small, too. I hope both do well and go home soon. What did they name her?

CK, that's for posting that. I'm always at a loss as to what we're supposed to be jealous of, too. That she has a successful blog? That's pretty cool, I'll admit, but I'd certainly not want the stress of knowing my livelihood depended on it and I'd not want my family exposed to that extent. The rest of it, I'm like Kristin. I don't get it.

Sandy, I'm glad C. had a good day at school. She deserved that! I hope she had a great time in Florida, too. :-)

Kaytie, that's such a bittersweet story about Rusty. Did she ever show up? You're definitely doing the right thing!

The SOS was very good. I caved and went and bought a bag of frozen biscuits because I finally decided it's sort of a sin to not eat SOS properly. Gravy is sacred.

Have you guys heard this? Ellen de Generes and a website have given $30,000 to that high school student whose prom was cancelled so that she wouldn't take her girlfriend to prom. I like Ellen.

Oh, Bella, my most favorite childhood book ever was Ramona The Pest. I still have my original copy, bought with my own money at the school Book Mobile. The first book I ever bought with my own money, in fact. I did not know about a movie but I'd have not wanted to see it anyway - I have mental images still and I don't want them disrupted.

FT, Bella, some people used the dried "chipped" beef but I love hamburger meat most. And I do prefer it on toast but I'm not picky. FT, I make it by browning a pound of hamburger (the fattier, the better) and then putting about 3/4 of a cup of flour into the undrained meat. Let the flour absorb the grease while stirring it around then add milk until you've got maybe 3 parts milk to one part meat and flour mixture. Season to taste with salt and a lot of pepper (I add some Worcestershire sauce, too) then simmer until thick. Serve on toast, bread. biscuits, etc. Total comfort food and a super cheap meal for breakfast or dinner.

Good for Ellen and Tonic! So much flap over such a minor thing this school has caused. As red-necky as this area can be, we've had gay kids going to prom together for years and no one cares. Or if they do, it doesn't matter.
