Part 2.

Carry on and for God's sake, someone be snarky or something.
We're going to get a bad reputation for being nice.

We have a real bitch of a neighbor who calls planning and zoning on us if we sneeze. She called last year to tell them we had put up a clothesline - not that it would matter since we don't have an HOA but it was a grapevine. While they were here I had to opportunity to point out the new shed that one of her crack head boarders had put up and the fact that she had too many boarders for a residential home.

HAHAHA I just get caught up and post and dont ya know it POOF new post :) so here it is again

Hey ladies hope everyone is having an awesome weekend and beginning of spring break :)

I got my meds for my migraines yesterday and amazingly enough got to use them within about 3 hours of picking them up GRRRRR Good news is they worked wonderfully and nipped it in the bud however I did get to spend about 6 hours feeling like I was incredibly stoned.

I did however wake up this morning with an amazing amount of energy and have gotten into this massive cleaning kick. I have the stepish son outside picking up and push mowing the yard....it is one of those manual ones not one that has any power to it...I wouldnt let a 9 year old do that LOL. My daughter is recovering from her hangover and is going to get the kitchen kicked out. I have laundry going and just got the bedroom picked up and vacuumed. Then I am going to go out front and sweep the walk way and get all the yuck off of it. Hopefully we wont run out of steam and will be able to get the rest of the house done today too but hey there is a week of spring break so we will be good to go :)

Lisa said...

Thanks, SW - I forgot again.

Repost: Google retractable clotheslines...I got mine at Lowe's but most hardware stores should have them. They won't hold the weight of a regular one - a wet quilt might be too much but they work fine for sheets and all. Plus, once you're done it's nothing but a neat looking little round box mounted on a tree or something.

Shannon, glad you're feeling all energetic and getting stuff done!

repost:

AP: I don't know what the rock pile looked like but they did move it to their backyard. And the tires are on the sidewalk (which does not belong to the homeowner anyway) and up the walkway to the front of the house. I don't know, just looks ugly. I don't agree with the commenters who say is breeds West Nile Virus. Seriously people, those are empty tires, not tires filled with dirt. It takes away from valid arguments to have those tires removed.

Growing up, we had a tire in the middle of our front lawn. My father had made cuts in it from the centre out to make "petals" and it was painted white and was filled with dirt and used as a planter. Nobody ever complained about it. It's just that these stacked tires are just plain ugly, and look haphazard. I have no trouble with what colour the porch is painted, or the sun cutout.

There are many houses in that neighbourhood which are unique, and don't use grass for example, but have like a wild brush look to them (more "green" than grass which uses too much water) and so on. I'm okay with that. My mother's next-door neighbour's front is like that, all rocks and fern-like plants and wild-growing stuff but it is maintained, you know?

Shannon, I love your energy today! I wish I had me some. I'm working half-heartedly on my patent application while obsessively checking Molly the Owl.

I hope you have a fantastic spring break, Shannon, and get to relax and unwind!

Mulie, are you back from your trip yet? We've missed you!

Margo said...

I'm glad your migraines are under control! I like the sound of kids cleaning...

Nilia said...

AP: thanks! There's a Lowes not far from here, I will look into it!

That doesnt sound like fun Margaret...having a tattle tale neighbor :)

I can give ya some snark. The lady that lives across the street and 2 houses down from us FREAKED the fuck out when she found out we had pitbulls. She was convinced that our dogs would kill her Chihuahuas, how I am not sure as our dogs are NEVER out of the yard without us, you know like responsible pet owners do we keep our animals contained and supervised like 2 year old children.

Well one of her precious Chi's is out of her yard EVERY DAY. In fact people in the neighborhood know this little dog since they have all seen him running in the roads and nearly getting hit by cars. Well I called the local "pound" yesterday and the gal said absolutely see if I can get him in the car and bring him in. This makes me feel better. It isnt so much about revenge or anything but hello a 6 lb dog does not stand a chance against any car on the road and he will lay in the middle of the street.

Dumb bitch should be more worried about cars then my dogs. And even better Helen took him back home after almost seeing him hit by 2 cars one day. The lady gave her so much attitude. She knows he is getting out and she doesnt care. She was basically giving off inconvenienced by being bothered to take care of her dog.

Shannon said...

Thanks guys, ladies :). I am really hoping that all of this will do the trick and I wont have to be laying in bed wishing for death for days at a time anymore.

Nilia said...

I'm very lucky that all my current neighbours are terrific. Every time someone moves out we hold our collective breath praying the new neighbour isn't some busybody annoying creature. So far, so good!

Growing up, however, we had the neighbour from hell (where the rock garden neighbour is now). She called the Humane Society regularly saying we were abusing our dogs, we couldn't hammer a nail into the wall without a City Inspector showing up to check our "renovations", she sic'd her kids on us, she called the cops on my uncle after she had her son spray him with a garden hose and he ran after the punk. She reached through our common fence to pull my dad's vegetables out by the roots, called to complain that the pears from our tree were causing wasps to hang out in her yard, and so on. She was truly the neighbour from hell. She lived next door to us for probably 30 years.

She complained that she didn't like to see our clothes hanging on the line (mom line-dried) but would put her husband's adult-diapers drying on the common fence. My dad put a stop to that by erecting the UGLIEST 7 foot fence made of corrogated metal he could find. It's still ugly, there's new neighbours and I begged him to take it down but he won't.

Margo said...

This bitch used to lure older people in to rent a room and she collected their SS checks - one died and she never bothered to let SS know. She is a real NASTY bitch - no morals but she's worried about what we are doing. She came outside one day swearing to high heaven in front of my daughter who was 4 at the time. Who does that?

Nilia said...

Shannon: glad you found something to finally deal with those migraines!

Okay, seriously I"m out of here for a bit to get some stuff done around here, back later!

Lisa said...

Margaret, good for y'all for getting some revenge on that idiotic neighbor. And Shannon, I'd snatch that little dog up fast and get it to the shelter. What's with people? I mean, I don't like pitbulls either but I couldn't care less if people have them as long as they're kept confined. What business is it of mine?

Shannon said...

Dang Margaret I will keep my dog lady bitch LOL

That woman is horrible and maybe you should turn her in to Adult protective services or something. From the sounds of things I would almost bet that those elderly people are not being treated appropriately. She sounds awful and I would make it a mission to bring her to being accountable for what she is doing. She is committing a criminal offense if she is still collecting SS for a deceased person..

Margo said...

That Gerry Woods commenter on Molly is scary - who takes a picture of themselves in the mirror naked - yish!

kristin said...

still trying to catch up....but wanted to chime in - my mom got a violation notice on her door b/c she had a table and chair on the front patio.

It was ridiculous - but somewhere in the HOA guidelines it states something about not having them. These were actually really nice - a wicker matching set - she lives in a really upscale - pond - community - well she fought the sucker and still has the patio furniture out.

PJ said...

Some people's neighbors...

Thanks for the info on the retractable clothesline. I'd use it for sheets. We take the quilts to the laundromat.

And then twice a year we air them out outside on The Husband Retracts It clothesline.

For that "Fresh Spring Feeling".

PJ said...

So many of those rules are just to keep that one neighbor from putting on their front porch their "hand me back" futon their kid used and abused for one year too many at college.

Say no to everyone so you don't get in a pissing match about who's stuff is nice enough to put out on the porch.

"Hand me back" is when something that was a Hand Me Down to somebody else comes back to you.

Margo said...

I called SS about the one man - she stopped renting to elderly people and now speacilizes in crack heads and grifters. She has the house up for sale so I'm praying she sells it soon.

kristin said...

Shannon - uggghh on the lady with the taco bell dogs - how annoying. I would call the dog collector each and every time the damn dog gets out - maybe she will eventually take the hint.

FT - your past neighbor sounds horrific. I had a neighbor right after my parents split who took the air out of my tires because I parked in "his" spot - in the street - He left me 2 notes - he was from another country - and he was an ASS! To this day, I still want to go take the air out of his tires.

...still catching up.

Lisa said...

Kristin, why even have a front patio if you have have pretty seating on it?

I've got a neighbor we all call Crazy Shirley and she's downright scary. She tells all the neighbors I sneaked in at night and left a Ouija Board on her doorstep, she accused the 76 year old widow-lady of being a prostitute and she had her retarded teenage daughter rip all of my baby crepe myrtles and periwinkles out at midnight one night because she didn't like them. The widow-lady saw it happening and told me the next day. I called the cops and after speaking with her, they suggested I eat the loss and just steer clear of her. I can't go in my backyard without her joining me in hers and watching me. She's even put a picnic table up against our shared fence so she can monitor my backyard and the widow-prostitutes front yard at the same time. Fun times.

Shannon said...

Sending thought of quick sale for your neighbors house Margaret....I cant even imagine. Definitely not what I would want in the house next to me for sure.

kristin said...

Margaret - how horrible! ugghhh!

Shannon said...

Kristin the best revenge for flattening tires is FORGET letting the air out....too much work but if you happened to wedge a couple of screws or nails in the direction that the driver pulls out of the spot you can fix them good :)

Margo said...

"She's even put a picnic table up against our shared fence so she can monitor my backyard and the widow-prostitutes front yard at the same time" - I don't get it, why do you call her crazy shirley?

Angie said...

Kristin my brother lived in an upscale pond community and he wasn't allowed to leave his garage door open unless he was out working in it. Crazy.

kristin said...

right shannon? We have moved since then and it is too much of a hassle to go back.

I did find it funny though - awhile back I was dating a guy and we were both looking at houses (separate houses but killing 2 birds with one stone) - anywho, he went to look at one and it was our old house across from Crazy dude!

AP - I remember you telling me about your crazy neighbor or at least telling "us" about it and me reading it.

Yes, no reason to have a porch without being able to sit on it. They do sit mostly in the back (with the pool and view of the "pond") but sometimes it gets too windy or too sunny and they sit outside.

I haven't done a damn thing all day and my house is a disaster. :(

Oh wait, I did throw some things in the sink that have been in the fridge far too long :) Oh, and fed the kid (that's always good to do)

Nilia said...

Back for a sec: in my neighbourhood, you can't park a school bus (assuming even that you are a school bus driver who has to park the stupid thing somewhere between 9 and 3), can't put a camper in the driveway or a trailer. I suppose this keeps the looks "even". Also can't park a huge rig whatever they're called, but that didn't stop one guy a couple of streets over from parking one right in his driveway. Whatever, he's not my neighbour and his neighbours don't seem to mind. It's a nice rig, too.

What bugs me? Kids who drag their hockey nets from their garages to set up a game in front of MY house. Sorry but it does. I have to ask permission to get in and out of my driveway. Their parents don't want them playing in front of their driveway I guess. I've been a little unpleasant and now they've taken their game elsewhere.

Did I ever post on here about the one (okay I have 1 stupid neighbour, behind my neighbour's house actually) who broke my window last year because he was trying to hit a raccoon with the rock? And then tried to sneak back into his house meaning he had no intention of telling me it was him who broke the window? Okay, one bad neighbour. This is my karaoke neighbour too. He's been quietish lately though, I made sure my immediate neighbours knew what he had done last summer re: the window and that seems to have settled him down some. Karaoke season is coming upon us though (in the spring, he has all-night karaoke parties with all. the. windows. open.)

Margo said...

I wonder if I can get some of molly's pellets to make pendants with :)

Angie said...

FT, all night parties aren't cool. I would call them cops on them after 10:00. LOL I am the neigbor that is bugged by noise. I once went outside and tracked down some neighborhood kids shooting off fireworks after 10:00. New Years' night!

Once I lived in a townhouse and my next door neighbor would let his German Shepherd outside at 5:00 AM and he would bark, practically right under my window. I complained to him once, and then started calling the cops. And called the cops when he played his stereo too loud. I'm very noise-sensitive, apparently.

I'm sure he was very happy when I moved!

Angie said...

LOL Margaret! I'd like that better than a vulva pendant!

Margo said...

Molly looks like she's mocking the guy talking about her - is that owl snark?

Nilia said...

SW: I am ashamed to admit I did in fact call the cops, twice in the same night. I *hate the idea of calling cops on neighbours. The calls were both WELL after midnight actually, the karaoke was so loud the air was pounding, kwim? The cops came the first time + they turned the karaoke off. The cops had barely turned the corner when they started up again, we called again and put our phone to the (closed!) window, the dispatcher could not believe how loud it was. Cops came back and it was turned off for good. This was a few years ago.

They still karoke but as long as it's off midnightish I try not to get bothered by it (weekends,I mean).

One of the new neighbours smokes funny stuff in his yard (I can smell it in my yard), I'm pretty sure. Not loving it but he is an otherwise impeccable neighbour.

Nilia said...

SW: barking dogs under my window at 5 a.m.? I'd complain too, ugh.

Molly's devouring a rat, yuck, my stomach's turning.

Angie said...

I honestly don't feel bad about calling the cops on insensitive neighbors. My Mom put up with her neighbor's barking dogs for literally 20 years before she finally got the nerve to talk to them about it. Their dogs barked constantly, and Mom is a very outdoorsy person and had to listen to the damn dogs all the time. When I visited it drove me nuts. I'm just too selfish to put up with annoying shit from my neighbors for very long.

Nilia said...

SW: Me too, but luckily I have good neighbours right now. Growing up we were never allowed to retaliate against those awful neighbours, my mom just hoped they would go away which was not a good strategy. Once the oldest son (1 year older than me) began to bully me at school, and I knew my mom would not want to make a big stir so I took it straight to the principal. He put a stop to that PRONTO, and in fact when my neighbour Mirek wouldn't answer direct questions the principal said do you want to tell me, or do you want to tell the police? That settled him down some. He's a loser drifter now apparently.

A while ago someone told me that if you shake your wallet at a full moon three times a little extra cash comes your way - I did last week when we had a full moon, this week I found a gift card I forgot I had, got a statement from a checking acct I thought I closed ages ago and just received an escrow overpayments check - total found money almost $600 - totally worth those three shakes!!!

kristin said...

Awesome Margaret - will try the next full moon!

Angie said...

Go Margaret! Shake it!

Margo said...

I look like a fool doing it but it always works :)

Margo said...

I'm talking to my FIL on the phone - he had bypass surgery 3 weeks ago, went home Monday but couldn't breathe - the home health people set his oxygen wrong so he's back in the hosp and they've drained 2 gallons of fluid from him.

Angie said...

I've been at work for over three hours and I've done one drawing figure and written one page (double-spaced). I suck.

Angie said...

Wow, Margaret, that's a lot of fluid. And the cause of the problem was the O2 setting? That's very scary.

Margo said...

I've become addicted to the internet - when I go back to work I'm going to have the DTs...

Margo said...

He was supposed to be on 10 litres and they had him on 2 - what a bunch of idiots!

Angie said...

Good grief, Margaret. That's terrible. Grrrr.

kristin said...

Margaret - can you do anything about it? Make them pay for this hospital stay?

That sucks!

Nilia said...

SW: How do you expect to keep AP in the "manner of living to which she is accustomed" if you don't get any work done?

Medical mistakes = scary. Glad it was caught in time.

Angie said...

Good question, FT. Very good question.

Margo said...

I'm not sure what they'll do. I personally think they sent him home too soon so while it's not a good thing this happened it's needed.

Medical mistakes are all too common. My OB sent me home after having my daughter when I as in congestive heart failure. 2 years later the dumb bastard told me I was pregnant when he had mixed up test results - and he's one of the DC area's top docs. My goal is to stay well!

Margo said...

I think somebody is talking to Molly - biting nails wanting to travel to see her live...

Angie said...

BTW, whoever introduced Molly to Daisy (Kristin? Bella?) gets partial blame for hampering my ability to support AP in the manner in which she's accustomed.

kristin said...

::avoiding eye contact with SW and slinking away into a corner.

It really was jeanette's fault, she had it on her blog. :) Yup, placing all the blame on Jeanette!

Margo said...

More found money - I'm cleaning off my desk, I have a gift certificate to the Kennedy Center and a gift card for Marriott. I really need to get better organized!

Angie said...

Okay, now you're just bragging, Margaret! ::shaking wallet frantically -- it's a full moon somewhere, right?::

kristin said...

okay - I feel a little more accomplished. I just picked up LM's room and made his bed and then folded some towels :)

Margo said...

I just caught my daughter standing at the fridge shoving handfuls of shreadded cheese into her mouth - it's like looking into a mirror with that one!

Gosh, don't get me started on crazy neighbors. We live rural, but not too rural, and some of the shit that goes on around here would blow your mind. One neighbor family is African-American Baptists or Pentecostals, and they have tent revivals in the summer...while we are trying to grill a ribeye and drink a beer, across the field people are screaming, speaking in tongues, and falling out, all to the drone of a preacher screaming, "Come to Jesus!"

The other next door neighbors are farmers that burn trash all summer long, and the people behind us are uber-creepy. Last year, Jay swears he saw them looking out their back window at us with binoculars.

Thankfully, we all have at least one or two acres, so we can all annoy each other from afar. I'm sure they love when Jay and I bring our drum sets on the deck and jam.

Margo said...

We had these neighbors on the other side of us - the guy was a pathalogical liar. When he moved in he went on and on about how great it was to finally own a home - funny but my husband's parents own the house! Then he told us he was in the marines and had to go to Iraq. So I said something to his wife about letting us know how we could help out when he was away - she said he's not in the marines he's a house husband... freaks!

Anonymous said...

Margaret, how weird. Why would you lie about stuff like that? Like you wouldn't know that he never left for an extended period of time? Odd.

Nilia said...

Margaret: how strange!

Unfortunately our place is in an HOA. The place was split into parcels before we bought it. Our immediate neighbors are a dream. Up the road, new neighbors moved in. They are super nosey and into everybody's business, holier than thou know it alls. I am pretty kicked back and try to get along with everyone. This couple gives me hives. Anyway, he becames Pres. of the HOA. Wifey runs for Congressional seat. He set out a new HOA contract stating no more than 2 dogs, no home businesses, etc. Hello! We bought the damn farmstead, with animals. I mean, WTF are we going to do with a huge barn and all this damn white fencing, not to mention the animals? They are contained, well cared for and appropriate amount for acreage. Cost us $2500K in lawyer fees to get HOA changed. Oh, and Ms. Congressional seat runner? She lost....BIG time lost. :::Huge snarky smirk:::

KaytieJ said...

Shannon - good news then about your migraine medicine working! Have a wonderful Spring Break!

WooHoo Margaret! Lookin' up Lunar schedule now. You can win some more, betting that I will be out shaking my wallet :::and a few other things too:::

KaytieJ said...

Margaret - Fellow cheese guzzler! I am addicted to Kraft American Cheese in the individual packets.

I wouldn't want to live somewhere with a HOA. It just seems so Big Brother to me, as I already have the state and city rules to live by. I think that's why we chose to purchase a house that needed some cosmetic work, but had a lot of land. I like having my bonfires, horseshoe pits, clothesline, 16 ft. tall hop bower, and house parties!

No tire planters, though, sorry!

KaytieJ said...

I agree with you Bella. HOAs are a bitch. Luckily we are way down at the bottom so no one can really see us...and we are now "grandfathered" :-D Bonfires, horseshoe pits :::nodding::: No tent revivals, though.
Definitely will not buy another HOA property though. Sort of kills my dream of a condo in a big city!

Angie said...

Okay, I've been at work for more than six hours and am at two drawing figures completed and one and 3/4 page. I've got to pick up the pace if I'm gonna finish this thing tomorrow! I've got about 6 drawing figures and 12 pages to go!

I'm heading home to get ready for supper club, which is at one of the guy's houses tonight. I'm not really looking forward to it. I'm sure the food will be good, but last time we were at this member's house, he said to be there at 7:30 sharp. Then we waited more than an hour for food, then waited about thirty minutes between courses. It was just a very l-o-n-g evening, and his dining room chairs are hard and uncomfortable.

Lordy, that sounded negative. I should delete it, but will just add that the food should be really good. This guy is fearless in the kitchen and tries all new recipes every single time.

He sent us the menu, and it is:

Scallop ceviche
Proscuitto and spring vidalia onion salad
Wild mushroom ravioli
Ancho-rubbed pork chops with mango salsa
Lemon buttermilk tarts

That's worth braving several hours on super hard chairs, right? Right?

I'll check in when I get home. Kristin or somebody, please post a Molly update before you go to bed, if you remember to.

Margo said...

He was totally normal looking and so very odd!

KaytieJ - the shaking is where it's at - better than playing the lotto!

kristin said...

I will try SW - she just seems restless today.

Have fun at the dinner party!

I love me a bonfire - used to do that a lot in michigan. I miss 'em!

Margo said...

The mcks are on a dinner date - I wonder if she orders for him...

kristin said...

LM just said the eggs were gonna hatch "in a minute" :)

Nilia said...

Ooh thanks for reminding me, tonight's Lotto is 41 million. Send husband out to pick up a ticket.

Will shaking my wallet at a full moon work in this instance?

KaytieJ said...

SW - Scrumptious menu! Enjoy. Hope he gets it out on time, though. Too bad you can't sneak in a cushion.

Margaret - Got ya! Practicing my shaking now!
As for McK date: She probably starts to order for him, then remembers her therapy sessions, gets all smarmy and says to Mr. McKTwit, "It's ok Prince, you can do it, you know you can" At this point Prince looks down in total humiliation, remembers his therapy sessions, and blurts out to the Waiter, "Ladies first! I must, MUST learn to wait" What a date that must be :::big eye roll:::

Lisa said...

"At this point Prince looks down in total humiliation, remembers his therapy sessions, and blurts out to the Waiter, "Ladies first! I must, MUST learn to wait"

*snortles out my nose*

SW, the menu sounds wonderful...I'd sit on hard chairs for that. You'll have fun when you get there. I *am having some concerns about you supporting me, though. I'm not going to have to whore myself out or anything, am I?

"while we are trying to grill a ribeye and drink a beer, across the field people are screaming, speaking in tongues, and falling out, all to the drone of a preacher screaming, "Come to Jesus!"

Now, look, I'd love this. I mean really love it!

PJ said...

SW - laughing about your recap of their dinner.

Prince - sounds like a pet German Shepherd.

Can't you just hear it - "Sit, Prince. Heal, Prince. Speak, Prince."

Margo said...

Is that blood on the wall in Molly's box - yikes!

PJ said...

Great news - we're getting enough back for a tax refund to pay three mortgage payments! That will help tide us over this summer when I don't get a teaching paycheck.

There were some new credits, and some others we qualified for that we haven't in the past, since The Husband is making less now. These more than offset income taxes on unemployment.

PJ said...

::thanking the heavens for good neighbors::

kristin said...

Yeah CK!

And wth are the McK's going on a date - didn't they just get back from vacation. They need to spend time with their "faces".

Margo said...

Yea for the refund!!!

Margo said...

That faces business gives me the creeps...

kristin said...

Oh and Lm just told me I was a fork, he was a dish and SO was a spoon.

Oh and his "brudder" - his name is Gasson - and he said it was okay to hit.

I'm gonna have to have a talk with his brudder.

Nilia said...

Yay for tax refunds!

CK: before this year, I would get paid Sep - June only, but of course my annual salary, it would still be divided up into 26 pay periods or something, and I'd get 1 extra pay at Christmas, and like 3 or something in June, I forgot but it all worked out.

This year we just started a full 26-pay period over one year schedule, so I'll get paid all year, same annual salary. My SIL always got an all-year salary so I guess it depends on the school board.

I like the full 12 month schedule better, it does make it easier to pace oneself, right?

Margo said...

Who is the candle stick :)

KaytieJ said...

CK - Great news on the refund!

Nilia said...

Kristin: that's some imagination!

Maybe he said "Gaston" and his brudder is French.

kristin said...

Margaret - I guess that would be his brudder :)

Margo said...

Is his brudder imaginary?

Nilia said...

If I win the 41 million, we'll go on a Daisy cruise.

kristin said...

FT - he does have quite the imagination.

PJ said...

We have the option of 10 month or 12 month. We were hoping The Husband would have a job by now, so I chose the 10 month option last fall, thinking it would be helpful for me to be getting a little more each paycheck.

Even though it didn't work out that way, I'm still glad we did it.

Plus, I work some extra hours at my PT job during the summer which gives me a bit bigger paycheck there.

But the refund will be so good.

Hubs is out on the lawnmower & son is out mucking stalls (but I suspect he is playing ball with Shortround II and his hairy xolo instead).

LFoB - Since you are the self proclaimed Snark Princess, come out and play. AP has given a directive for us to be snarky. I think we did a decent job today. What do you think?

Funnin' aside - I do hope you had a less painful day. Hugs.

I think Bella's across the street cavorting with her Jesus lovin' neighbors.

Kay,
What's a hair xolo?

update for SW - Molly flew the coop - probably just a potty break since she ate so much today.

Molly just got a rat.

Oh, *hush.

McGee has a rat and molly's not "home"

Xolo is a type of S. American dog that should be hairless. They are really ugly, IMO. Our neighbors raise them. They are valuable because people with dander allergies love them since they have no hair. When my son was 8 he fell in love with the "hairy" puppy, which as the breed is supposed to be hairless, it had no value and was set to be destroyed. My son bought it with his Bday money for $8.00. I'll try to find a link of what the hairless xolos look like. Ours is a beautiful brindle and looks nothing like the hairless ones.

Lol, just coming back to say that isn't Molly.

I like a few choice things on etsy, and I tend to be a repeat buyer. I buy my hair wraps from a girl in Australia, and I buy hemp pants and tops from another girl in Oregon.

I love to just browse the art on there, you can get some really interesting and beautiful pieces for not a lot of money.

Molly and McGee just did it.

CK - Grins at Bella cavorting with her Revivalist neighbors!

Gosh, the first time they had a revival, I about called the police. It sounded like a mass murder, by someone who really, really loves J.C.

BD - hope your friend and her little one are doing well.

FT - I hope that Shortround gets a name soon.

Margaret - I hope the end is soon for your friend.

Kaytie - hope the stalls got mucked but that the dogs also got some attention, especially Shortround the dog :)

I think I am gonna go crazy with the SO here - he took a week off and it is driving me crazy - not used to sharing the remote or dealing with him. uggghhh!

Sandy - hope day one of party time was fun!

Night ladies!

Hey bella - if you are cruisin' the etsy sites and you see any cute fireman/truck/station stuff - can you e-mail it to me.

I'm looking for art and some sort of hook thing to put coats/etc to hang on.

No worries if you don't...just thought I'd ask.

I've looked a bit but haven't had much luck.

Night...for real!

Lisa said...

'Night, Kristin and Kaytie, I have to admit, those dogs are sort of cute. That's so sweet about your son buying this one. :-)

Anonymous said...

I will, Kristin :)

Lisa said...

Kristin, did you look at Target.com?

And the Etsy winner for the evening is...

Ozzy would have that off and shredded in about 2.5 seconds.

Lisa said...

Shit. I want to see what Bella linked and my cut 'n paster isn't working.

Anonymous said...

It's an elf hat on an embarrassed/pissed off looking dog, AP.

Lisa said...

Oh! It might be worth it just for those 2.5 seconds. I have a clown outfit for Beatrice. And a tutu. And a scar from putting the clown hat on her the first time...

Bunny ears one year for our dog. Didn't go over well, and didn't even get photos. Anything is worth it for one good photo. That's my thought ;)

But then I sound all JM, huh?

(and hey everyone!!)

Hey Ann, and bye everyone!

I am feeling a dance session coming on...Hot Chip is pumping through the stereo!

Goodnight all!

Hi, Ann! And I figure it's okay to sound JM-ish once in awhile. When you Tweet it regularly? We might run you off.

Evening Daisy's! I've got this in one window - freaking Molly in another (thanks Kristin) and Mahjongg on Facebook in a third.... busy night!!

We have Tay overnight again.... Ang needed some time off. We got the dresser built, while Patti did that I cleaned her kitchen and bathroom and put her belt on her vacuum for her and swept the floors - and can you believe it took her 15 minutes after she got home to realize we had been there? and I left a huge note propped up on a toy right inside the front door!! But she said it was dark, she sees toys all the time and walks past them! What tipped her off was that I stole one of her Dr. Pepper's out of her frig and apparently didn't push the little 12 pack back far enough so when she opened her frig, they all fell out on the floor! 11 of them, the 12th I drank and it was unopened til I got there! Ha! So she freaked out a minute, went to check the back door to be sure it was locked, and saw the mail on her table all straightened up - and her nail polish (that I used while I was there!!) sitting in a different spot. Then she really freaked out, and turned on all the lights and looked around and found my note!! haha - she called and as soon as Patti answered she said WTF???? hahah it was hilarious and so worth it!!!

Angie said...

Evening everybody! Karen, that's funny about Ang's surprise.

Thanks for the Molly updates, Bella and Kristin. I swear I just saw an egg wiggle when Molly was out a minute ago.

Supper club was good. The chairs are still hard and uncomfortable, but the food was just terrific.

Karen said...

Was the "service" slow this time SW? I'm not a big fan of trying new things, and I'm not a seafood eater at all - I'd have to stop at McDonalds on the way home from your supper clubs SW!

This Molly chatting beside the picture is hilarious - some people are really annoying and sometimes its funny!!

Angie said...

The service was very slow. The wait until we sat down at the table was only about 15 minutes, but there were long waits between every course. You wouldn't have been able to eat the appetizer and I barely could. It was scallop ceviche, which is basically raw scallops that have been marinated in citrus for a while and the citrus "cooks" the scallops. But they aren't really cooked. I've ceviche that I loved, but these scallops were very slimy and raw tasting. I could barely get them down. Everything else was excellent though.

The main course was a ancho rubbed pork chop, served atop a corn cake that was like a corn pancake, with a mango salsa on top and a bed of greens and a fried plaintain strip. It was a beautiful dish that you'd be happy with if you ordered it in a really nice restaurant.

Angie said...

I'm really tired and have had a long day and need to go to bed, but I don't want to miss Molly or the eggs doing something exciting! I missed her while I was at Supper Club! (Thanks again, Kristin!)

Karen said...

The main course sounds so good SW - the appetizer, raw anything - no thank you - I'd have to leave the room to use the bathroom til they cleared my plate or something!! Or just passed on that dish and gotten made fun of, which happened alot in ny at seafood resaurants!!

Lisa said...

Karen, that's so cute what all happened with your daughter...stuff goof family stories are made of!

SW, I *love seafood and am not shy about raw stuff if I know it's safe but those scallops? Would have me feeling abdominal tweaks and twinges that don't even exist, just knowing I've got food poisoning. :-/

I'm off to throw a new post up and then maybe go to bed. Or not. We'll see. If I do go, goodnight to you all.
