But did you see the clip of Miley posing alone - she was all hunched over - she needs to stand up straight and put her shoulders back :)

Sorry, LM crawled up into my lap.

Look, its Queen Latifah (sp?) - I love her!

CK - I agree with everything you said - I have more on that but I need to tend to sickie!

just popping in and out!

Kay - got your e-mail, I will respond in a bit!

Karen - hey! I agree with what others have said, just keep applying until you get what you really want and "fits" you - I haven't forgotten about you either. I got a new computer and I have to see if Word is on it or if I have a free trial version. I actually thought about going into the office today to work on it, my sister was supposed to take LM to a birthday party today - but she got sick so it didn't happen.

Karen said...

whats up with this charlise theron (sp??) dress? um, yea that was ugly (bless her heart!)

Angie said...

How tall is Kathryb Bigelow? Mighty tall! I hope she wins Best Director. I think she will.

Angie said...

Oh my god! The top part of Charlize's dress scared me! It looks like she's got vaginas on her breasts!

Nilia said...

Well we just had the crockpot ribs, and they were pretty good! I put much much less bbq sauce that the whole bottle it called for because there is way too much salt in those sauces, and then once it was done I took out the ribs and poured a can of peas over the potatoes. It was a hearty meal. Next time I'll add carrots. Even my picky 6 year old like it,although I had to take the meat off the ribs for him since some of it was "squishy" (fat).

Verdict: repeatable.

Angie said...

Karen, SJP is definitely aging well. I've liked her since she was a teen, in Square Pegs. Love Sex In the City!

Nilia said...

Oh you guys are going to make me watch the Oscars, aren't you?

Okay, I'll play.

Nilia said...

I am SO over George Clooney.

Karen said...

I dont' watch Sex in the City - never have - don't even know why - must have had something else on at the same time that I was addicted to!

Kristin - please don't go to work on your day off to help with the resume!! I would feel horribly guilty! Just whenever you have the time, in the meantime I am just using what I have. Patti has an interview in the morning with a job that sounds perfect for her - so keep fingers crossed for her - then at least ONE of us will be working!! LOL

Karen said...

FT your ribs sound good - I put country style ribs in the crock pot last week and made up my own idea of sauce, didn't have a bottle of anything - just did the ribs - no veggies in there - but they turned out really good. Any meat cooked in a crock pot has my vote!

Karen said...

George Clooney was good on ER - since then I'm not a big fan of his!

Karen said...

Seeing SJP typed reminded me of this... We went to a Borders near here last night, they are closing and everything was 50% off - we met my son and DIL and grandsons there, and the little guy was sleeping, so I carried him around for a bit, then went to sit with him, they had a young guy playing guitar and singing and I just sat and held Xander, and there was a very nice looking well built 30 ish black man sitting at a table across from me, on his laptop, with an open briefcase beside him, and inside the briefcase was a black binder, on the spine of the binder, in big lettering was the letters
SIP
in big bold black lettering....

Strange!!

Karen said...

Jen Lopez - looked great! Love that dress - other than that train I didn't care for!

Marc Anthony - not so much!

LOL

Muliebrity said...

I don't have E! so I have to wait until Barbra WaWa is finished to see what everyone is wearing!

PJ said...

I'm an hour behind, and am now looking forward to seeing all these people you're talking about.

George Clooney was handsome in Up in the Air.

PJ said...

Esp want to see Charlize with the vagina breasts.

Nilia said...

Who *are all those extra no-names milling about?

Nilia said...

CK: I assumed it would be live, no?

Angie said...

"and inside the briefcase was a black binder, on the spine of the binder, in big lettering was the letters
SIP"

Haha! Karen! That's funny!

PJ said...

FT - I thought so too, what channel are you ladies watching? Right now Bahbawah Wahwah is on. "Pre game show" at 7:00 our time (in 20 minutes).

Angie said...

Okay, just got my cake in the oven and am catching up. Score for us big girls tonight! Queen Latifah looks fantastic!!

KaytieJ said...

George Clooney bugs me. I really liked him "In Brother, Where Art Thou", however.

SW & CK-the chick flick was something about an ice skater-old(er) movie. "Ice Dreams" I think. Whatever it was it is done now, thank goodness and I am torturing them with "The Red Carpet" now. I love Sandra Bullock!

Karen said...

SW it was crazy - I did a double take, then a triple take, then the man gave me the look, like he wanted me to butt out of his business!! So I talked to the sleeping baby in my arms and ignored him!! it was really funny!

Angie said...

I'm sooo over Barbara Walters. Can't stand her.

George Clooney though? LOVE him.

JLo does look pretty. I like her. She is always very pleasant.

Karen said...

Not sure what channel - Patti is snoozing on the remote - but its hosted by Ryan Seacrest.

Angie said...

Mark Anthony is chewing gum. Loser.

Nilia said...

It's 7:40 here (EST) and I'm watching eTalk on STAR. It's running 6:30 - 8:00 apparently.

Karen said...

I love Queen Latifah! and the girl that was in Precious certainly is secure in herself - did anyone else see that movie? Wow.. thats all I have to say about that!

Nilia said...

eTalk is being hosted by Ben Mulroney (Canadian).

Angie said...

Mulie, I feel bad you can't watch now, but we'll start all over in twenty minutes when ABC's coverage starts, okay? I'm going to google and see if I can find you a picture of Charlize's vagina brests though. Disturbing.

Angie said...

Speaking of disturbing, don't google Charlize Theron Vagina Breasts. Not what I was looking for.

Angie said...

Keanu Reeves is still alive?

Nilia said...

SW: LOL! Serves you right, LOL!

KaytieJ said...

Meryl...ahhhh...she is always so graceful, no matter what she wears.

Nilia said...

Keanu Reeves can't act. He looks ghoulish today. Kind of like Marc Antony (sp?).

Angie said...

Gabourey Sidibe is very confident. Good for her. I haven't seen the movie, but I will.

Nilia said...

SW: agreed. But watch how fast they'll want to change her and slim her all up. I hope I'm wrong.

KaytieJ said...

The Good Will commercial made me tear up.
Oh! There is Queen Latifah...Lovely!

Karen said...

Yea thats her name SW - she is great - the movie made me cry... she should win - and Monique too...

FT I hope you're wrong too -

Angie said...

OOOO! Kate Winslet! Beautiful!

Angie said...

There's Charlize and her vagina breasts again!

Nilia said...

SW: I haven't seen her! I think you're making this up, LOL!

Someone mentioned this earlier, but I can't believe how many people are chewing gum. With their mouths open. Including when talking into the microphone.

Angie said...

Funny tweets re Charlize Theron:

DaleRadio: Charlize Theron, modeling the new uniforms for Cinnabon.

immadinosaurus: dear charlize theron: why do you have cinnabons on your boobs?

Angie said...

FT, there should be a person on the red carpet monitoring people for gum and making them spit it out. These people weren't raised right!

Angie said...

spaceytracy91: What is with Charlize Theron's vagina boobs??? VAGINA BOOBS!!!

34 minutes ago from web OohNiceCupOfTea: charlize theron looks like she has a pair of vagina's stuck on her chest

Karen said...

ahahah cinnabons - perfect!

Yea that gum chewing is just disgusting! I can see my teachers holding their hands out, telling us to spit out our gum, that its rude!

Karen said...

LMAO SW - love that they are calling them VB's too!!

Karen said...

I love Cameron Diaz, but that dress, doesn't do it for me!

Angie said...

Cameron Diaz looks great. I like her a lot.

Nilia said...

SW: we're not talking about breeding again, are we?

Karen: ewww! I would never hold my hand out for gum! I will however escort student to the garbage can to witness the spitting out of the gum. Live and learn, I say.

Angie said...

I liked it Karen. Don't love it, but liked it. Her hair and makeup is pretty.

KaytieJ said...

Can I bring Penelope Cruz home with me. She is adorable! Oh and Jake, who will be in "Prince of Persia"

PJ said...

George isn't looking so good tonight. (watching network TV - no cable here)

Karen said...

I went to Catholic grade school and those nuns would hold out their hand. One nun made people who ate gum in class wear their gum ON THEIR NOSE and write 50 times "i will not chew gum in class" - that worked!

Zach Effron is a cutie - I wanna fix him up with one of my daughters!

Karen said...

I'm back on network tv now too CK so we're on the same show now I think!

PJ said...

Who's the stiff in the gray snakeskin dress?

With the tummy hugging thing?

PJ said...

Host... She can barely move.

Off to finish watching Time Travelers Wife with husband. We're taping pre-game show.

Angie said...

I totally think people should have to wear gum on their nose for chewing it. Everybody, not just kids. I hate seeing people chewing gum. And almost worse than the gum itself, when people throw gum in garbage cans without wrapping it in something first, and it sticks to the side of the garbage bag? That wrecks me. I go apopletic if someone starts to throw gum in my trash can at work without wrapping it up first. I've scared a couple of people good yelling at them before they dropped the gum in.

Karen said...

Have fun CK - see you later

Angie said...

CK, I don't know who that is, but I hate that dress. It's not flattering, and its ugly. Is that woman pregnant?

Angie said...

Don't go, CK! Dang, we ran CK off.

Angie said...

My cake is out of the oven. It smells good!

KaytieJ said...

UGH! Even Morgan Freeman is chewing gum.

Karen said...

I have no idea who it is either - but I wonder if she had a full length mirror getting dressed - I wonder that alot!

Karen said...

SW I am craving something sweet sooo bad - what kind of cake? are you gonna frost it??

Angie said...

Okay, Mulie, are you watching now? What do you think about JLo?

Nilia said...

Isn't Penelope Cruz the one who's incredibly rude in interviews?

Angie said...

Strawberry cake with strawberry icing, Karen. For my secretary's b'day.

Mulie, you asked earlier what kind of law I practice. Mostly intellectual property.

Angie said...

I don't remember that she is, FT.

Anonymous said...

Hi everyone! We just had a really nice Sunday dinner...pork tenderloin, garlic mashed potatoes, and salad.

I've been so busy this weekend I have not had a lot of time to chat, but I have read and caught up :)

If anyone wants a good movie recommendation, I have to vote for "Let The Right One In". It's Swedish and subtitled, but it's creepy, lonely, and very, very good. It's about a female child vampire who befriends a bullied boy. Sounds campy, but but it is *very well done.

Karen said...

SW If I take a super small slice, your secretary won't mind, right?

Thats very sweet that you made her a cake! Guess thats what comes from having a woman for a boss - My boss wouldn't have remembered it was my birthday if someone else didn't make a cake and we made him come sing so that he could eat cake! Maybe I should try to find a woman to work for!!

Anonymous said...

I can't bring myself to watch the Oscars, sorry :(

Karen said...

Hey Bella - nice to see you "live" !

Karen said...

Not even the red carpet Bella?

Angie said...

Hi Bella! I saw that movie, and liked it a lot.

Karen, she's very sweet, she wouldn't mind at all. It's sad that I can't stand her, because she really is very sweet.

Angie said...

Bella, your dinner sounded great! I've got a pizza in the oven. The little grocery store down the street makes the best pizzas. They'll cook them there, or you can take them home and bake them, which is what I like to do.

Anonymous said...

I don't like Awards shows for some reason, but I will love to read about it and look at the pictures in People magazine next week :)

Hi Karen!

Karen said...

Why can't you stand her SW? Is it her work? or just her?

Well, its very sweet that you baked her a cake!

Anonymous said...

I love take-and-bake pizzas, SW. There is no where around me that has them, though :(

I also love cake!

Angie said...

Well, Karen, she does some very rote things well, but anything the slightest bit new or unfamiliar throws her completely. And she has this horrible, stupid-confused-scared look that she gives me whenever I ask her for anything. It makes me want to smack her. Because of that look, I try and give her almost all instructions in writing, via e-mail. So it's not an efficient way to operate.

Karen said...

Bella you can have a little piece of it with me, the sweet secretary won't care!

Nilia said...

SW: don't take this the wrong way, but maybe you dislike her because she is weak and needy? I've worked with some people like that and it can be frustrating.

Karen said...

I used to work for an attorney right out of high school SW - I could do it. Is she young? we had so many secretaries that worked in my office for the other company that shared out office that was like that... I had no patience for them at all...

Karen said...

Weak and needy annoy me too!

Anonymous said...

I hate weak and needy people. I have no time to consistently give someone validation and praise. There is a girl at my clinic that is like that. I ignore her, which fuels her neediness. Ugh!

Karen said...

I worked with someone like that too - and besides that she was stupid! She annoyed the crap out of me!

Angie said...

OMG, Meryl is wearing Chris March! He was one of the finalists of Project Runway a few years ago! Remember him? Really funny big guy who likes to dress up as drag queens? How cool!

Karen said...

I do remember him, and that was a really cute dress - I loved that guy - he was the best!

Angie said...

I don't think she's weak and needy, exactly. But maybe. I really think she's just kind of stupid. Her last boss, my old boss -- who left the firm a few years ago -- was a real asshole tyrant. Treated her like crap. So she may have a little "battered wife" syndrome.

Angie said...

I treat her fine. I always say please and thank you. But I'm not warm at all and I tell her absolutely nothing personal and I avoid all conversation with her.

KaytieJ said...

Dougie Howard to open the act...time to raid the fridge

Angie said...

Neil Patrick Harris! Neat surprise! I love him!

What did you guys think about the best actor/actress lineup at the beginning?

Angie said...

Isn't it neat how talented and successful Doogie's turning out to be?

Angie said...

Come on Kay, it's Doogie Howser! Show some respect!

Angie said...

Where'd everybody go? Mulie, you're late!

KaytieJ said...

OK...I'll be nice. He has grown up nice.

Anonymous said...

Sorry, watching a DVR'd Blackhawks game.

KaytieJ said...

YAY! Penelope!

Angie said...

I thought the opening comedy act was funny. Didn't get the Clooney jabs though.

Karen said...

Love Doogie!

Penelopie Cruz is adorable - whoever said that before!

Karen said...

The guy I went to school with was in the opening act, and will be in the 'best score' number with 40+ dancers -he's a really great keyboard player!

Nilia said...

I really Sigourney W but her dress is so red. It's a nice red, I'm not sure what seems off to me about her dress. She sure is a gracious lady.

Angie said...

FT, I feel the same way about Signourney. The dress is just not quite right.

KaytieJ said...

SW-the opening act was funny-and Clooney looked kind of pissed/ I did not get it either.
FT-I missed Sigourney. She is wonderful-goes at it straight and is gracious, too.

kristin said...

I agree, clooney didn't looked thrilled.

I am going to have to see the Blind Side!

I missed the girl/dress you were talking about earlier.

Angie said...

Kay, I couldn't tell if he was really pissed or just playing pissed.

KaytieJ said...

SW-same here about Clooney. My son didn't either.
DO see the Blindside. I was going because my son wanted to see it and I was very skeptical. It was very good.

KaytieJ said...

Cameron (and her dress) is/are so elegant and flowing/ Sigh

Angie said...

AWww, the guy who just won's crying wife was sweet.

Angie said...

Okay, Miley again. Who besides me thinks she's missing her shirt?

Karen said...

Blind Side was awesome!

KaytieJ said...

Mamma Mia girl! Isn't she a beauty?

KaytieJ said...

SW-my son said the same thing, as do I.

Angie said...

Yes, she is, Kay. She's in Big Love too, but not next season.

KaytieJ said...

She was in the second Twilight movie, too. She has a good career ahead, I believe.

Muliebrity said...

I'm a half hour behind! Damn kids!

Nilia said...

I like Sandra Bullock and I *adore her dress. She seems like she'd be a fun BFF.

Nilia said...

I've had a secret crush on Christopher Plummer since The Sound of Music.

Angie said...

Yay, you're here Mulie! Better late than never! Give us your thoughts!

Angie said...

FT, she would SO be a fun BFF!

Muliebrity said...

That dress is perfect for Meryl!

KaytieJ said...

FT=Christopher Plummer is a dream. I was so sad he did not win, but so thrilled he was still going at it and nominated.
Oooooh! Robert Downey, Jr...I adore him! AND Tina Fey!

Muliebrity said...

And Gabourey Sidibe does need to be changed. She can't even fit in the chair!

kristin said...

SJP - chewing gum, mouth open!

WTH is up with Robert's bow tie and sunglasses?

Angie said...

SJP chewing gum? So disappointing!!!

Angie said...

Making fun of fat people will get you flamed, by me. FYI

Muliebrity said...

Why is stating the obvious wrong, SW?

KaytieJ said...

Molly and Mathew....oh brings back great memories..ruh roh Molly looks terrified

Angie said...

I don't mean to say you're "wrong," as in incorrect. It's just my "touchy" issue when people make fun of fat folks. I'm quite fat.

Sorry, not meaning to throw cold water on the Oscar party.

Muliebrity said...

I heard Inglorious Bastards was rather odd. I think I'd probably like it.

Angie said...

And Hey, I wouldn't mind some gum-chewing apologists flaming me for my anti-gum position!

Muliebrity said...

I'm no super model myself, SW.

KaytieJ said...

Oh the John Hughes prodigies!!! I am in HEAVEN!

kristin said...

Yes, good memories!

kristin said...

What a great tribute but Macouley (or however the hell you spell it) needs a hair cut!

Angie said...

Very sweet tribute!

Muliebrity said...

Sandra B looks kind of over the top in the Blind Side.

KaytieJ said...

Kristin-I was so surprised he was there...have not heard of him for some time (but I am the worst on keeping up on all that)-and Judd Law, too!

Angie said...

I wonder if those Twilight kids have even seen any of those movies?

Muliebrity said...

How awkward was the "Up" guy? I love geeks in Hollywood!

Angie said...

Okay Zoe Saldana? Love it or hate it? I kinda hate it.

Angie said...

I like the other girl's dress though.

Angie said...

Geeks are cool.

Muliebrity said...

Like the Mama Mia girl too!

kristin said...

SO says he hates both of the dresses :)

KaytieJ said...

"Up" guy was such a geek...I love it! Also loved that T-Bone barely said a word!

Muliebrity said...

now another pause to put the monsters to bed

KaytieJ said...

Mulie-hope they go easily and have sweet dreams.

Angie said...

Awkward. What the heck was that?

kristin said...

Mulie - good luck!

Mine went down with no problem. Poor little guy. Hope he sleeps all night!

Angie said...

Okay, I had to rewind because I couldn't figure out if that woman was supposed to be up there with that guy. She handled it poorly.

PJ said...

Geek for up (Pete Dockter) is a Minnesotan! Watch the geek comments, please.

He was awkward and a loner in high school - but look at him now. Bet the football quarterback isn't doing cool stuff like Pete.

Angie said...

Ben Stiller as a Navi is cute.

PJ said...

WHat's a Navi?

T@iy@ said...

I don't need to watch the Oscars with your rundown on here. :) Good thing since my hubs is watching The Taking of Pelham 123.

Angie said...

"Watch the geek comments, please." LOL Noted!

Nilia said...

I'm glad to see different body types tonight. People have to feel comfortable in their own skins. What I hate is when they put pressure on women esp those who are in the public eye and then the huge weight fluctuations happen because those women are not meant to be small!

Angie said...

I don't think I spelled it right, CK, but they are the natives of the planet in Avatar.

KaytieJ said...

CK-I love geeks. I am one, and so are my DH and son...tongue in cheek humour!

kristin said...

I like geeks too! I too am a big nerd with a sporty side :)

KaytieJ said...

SW-that woman was out of line. Very akward!

Angie said...

<<-- a nerd with a nerdy side

kristin said...

I missed it, no idea!

Where did AP disappear to?

Hope RiM is having a better weekend and hopefully got good news on the house they were looking at.

Angie said...

Yeah, I hate AP is missing the liveblog Oscars!

KaytieJ said...

Ben Stihler is hilarious-as are his parents. Agree with ya SW-he is cute as a Navi!

Nilia said...

They need a podium! When the people reading the nominees go to the microphone, they always hunch over awkwardly. Isn't there usually a podium? I don't really watch the Oscars much.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Hi all.

I've been lurking all day because I wanted to know what was going on, but I didn't have time to write. I can't post comments here when I'm using my phone, anyway; I can read, but not post.

So, um, hi. :)

Nilia said...

I think "Precious" is going to overwhelm tonight.

Angie said...

The last few years they haven't had a podium, but the microphone is supposed to adjust magically to your right height.

PJ said...

Just making fun of another protected class of people - you know:

heavy set
geeks
old
blue skin
gum chewing

kristin said...

Hey BD!

Nilia said...

Hi BD! Come to join the Oscars party?

Angie said...

Hi BD! I've been thinking about you! How's your bedrest friend? Have you been sleeping more the last couple of nights?

KaytieJ said...

I said it before but will say it again :::AP, spare me the banning rod::: Jake, the next Prince of Persia is ADORABLE! And AP-get your buns in here...I don't care if you whine and groan the whole way :-D

Nilia said...

Queen Latifah is class-ay!

Angie said...

Okay, that was a sweet and heartfelt speech. ::sniff::

kristin said...

Queen Latifah looks AWESOME!

PJ said...

FB "friend" status:

john smith is feeling alone tonight. Not sure why now, in particular.... I think it's the Oscars....I saw a lot of these movies over the last several months with dates who later decided not to be the kind of friend I wanted. Maybe I'll watch another channel.

This guy is a middle aged white man who thinks that the only reason women get/have jobs is because of feminism.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I can't watch the Oscars just yet, because I don't have a free tv. They usually run it immediately after it finishes, so maybe I'll catch it then, although I have 4 DVRed Law and Order episodes to watch, and they might win if I'm reading here.

Did Monique (can't remember where the apostrophe goes) win?

PJ said...

Women are taking all the good jobs from men, you know.

Angie said...

Monique's category isn't up yet, BD.

kristin said...

Poor John Smith - if he wasn't such a douche canoe, he might not feel so alone! Wonder what he thinks of the women directors winning?

PJ said...

I wish there was a "poor you" button. I'm thinking I've gotta unfriend him before I respond to one of his "ain't it awful being a white, college educated male - who can't get a date because all women are scum".

Angie said...

CK, aren't people who post those sad sack FB messages interesting? I mean, what do they hope to get from those messages? That someone looking for a tortured depressed person is going to think they've found their soul mate?

PJ said...

VERA!!!!!

Angie said...

And the Oscar for best use of "douche canoe" today goes to: Kristin!!

PJ said...

SW,
He's pissed off so many "friends" with his misogynist attitudes, which he shares freely on FB and then doesn't understand why people call him on it.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Bedridden friend is as well as can be expected; thanks for asking. I saw her yesterday for a few hours and am going back Tuesday (probably) because I only need to find someone to watch M. A. goes to preschool Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I felt really bad, because she got a little teary and apologized profusely for not being more available to me when I was on bedrest with M. I quickly assured her that I understood, because I do. First of all, she worked crazy hours, and secondly, you really don't know how awful extended bedrest is until you do it. I have never once held that against her, and I wouldn't. But I have gone through it, which is why I'm there as often as possible.

She and her husband feel genuinely awful about it, which is why I think her husband ordered $100.00 worth of wine from me. Which doesn't suck.

SW, I am getting some sleep, but it's not really good sleep. I'm just not very good at sleeping, I guess. My bedroom talents lie elsewhere. :)

kristin said...

I guess I need to see this movie!

Nilia said...

I would not want to be nominated in anything up against anybody in Precious today. Can I admit that I haven't seen it?

KaytieJ said...

Ah Maggie...classy lady in the Dark Knight. And Monique is there and real.

PJ said...

Kristin & FT - it's very difficult to watch. Let me say that again....

Esp if you or someone you love has been abused.

Nilia said...

BD: you are a good friend. Really.

Nilia said...

CK: that's what I'm afraid of. I suck at sad movies.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

FT, I haven't seen it, but I read it. I really don't know if I could handle watching it, though I have been told it is excellent, and Monique knocks it out of the park.

kristin said...

I'd like to thank all the douche canoes out there who make this night possible for me....

::sniff, sniff

I'd like to thank my mother, for letting me speak freely....

lol!

BD - you are a good friend!

KaytieJ said...

:::swoon::: Collin Firth

kristin said...

I may have to read it too.

I cried this morning at a stupid hallmark movie :)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

FT:

I'm not sure if I am a good friend, but I do value my friends, and I try to be worthy of them.

From the first day I met J and A (the couple), they have been awesome, and I mean AWESOME, with my kids. Presents, attention, videotaping impromptu dance parties...they've done it all. That's the quickest way to my heart.

Anonymous said...

OK, I caved.

Can I say that Queen Latifah looks awesome! I love seeing someone who is not a size 2 "make it" in Hollywood.

Even Jay commented, "That is what a woman should look like."
