Since it's close to 11, I'll skip that auto-post but a new one will be up at 6PM.

Good morning, all!

kristin said...

Great pic! lmao!

How are you today AP?

Anonymous said...

Hi Kristin, Taiya, Jill & AP! (and everyone else who's on) :-)

How cool is it that I'm on the long list of people GM hates ;-D (btw, my last name is not a secret - if you click on the veruca salt avatar on the list of followers you can see it. Ha! And the misspelling of my last name on the fruitcake blog made me want to gouge my eyes out :-D )

Anonymous said...

AP - I LOVE the pic - where did you find it?

twirldawg said...

So wrong and so funny.

Lisa said...

Morning, all!

SW, are you okay out there? I'm a bit concerned since Alabama got hit hard. Are all the other daisies accounted for that got hit last night?

Corinne, I've had that pic for ages - someone sent it to me once. I cracked up when I saw it the first time. And congrats for making the GM Short List.

Elisabeth, Tell Chris I said that between punching cards, bath salts and muffins, it's getting awfully complicated to be gay around here. :-D

Sandy, how is C today?

CK, any word on the job front for Mr. CK?

Kristin, I'm good - nothing new. You? How are you feeling today?

Muliebrity said...

Just catching the Dog Whisperer. Cesar is have a dog get freakin acupuncture!

kristin said...

Doing well AP - I love mornings like this - crisp spring morning! I have the windows open and I just made breakfast! I wish I had the drive to clean but right now I am looking through pics for b-day present for grandma. lol!

Corinne - how was your day yesterday?

Lisa said...

Mulie, how's the yeast infection?

Muliebrity said...

I plan to get chickens, but my husband says nope. What a butthead!

Muliebrity said...

Funny you should ask about the yeast, AP. I had the 3 days meds/cream and I still not sure they are going to eliminate the problem completely. I have a doctor's appt tomorrow, so I'll probably need to flash the girly bits for the doc and his crew. It is actually feeling better today then it has, but not normal. Annoying!

Muliebrity said...

Kristin, You sound like you are in good spirits this morning! I'm glad to see that. How are you feeling?

Anonymous said...

Today is Chuck-e-Cheese, DH just announced that he's not going because he wants to fish today. It's his friend's kid who is having the birthday. I wish I hadn't already told DD - ugh!

Sandy - sorry to hear about your mail box. Sink the next one in concrete - when they come by and do it again they'll get a nice surprise.

A few years ago there was a mad honker. He would drive around our neighborhood each night honking and driving up on our lawns. The police could not catch him. So it started one night and my husband ran outside with pencil and paper to take down the license plate and I called the police. When I went outside to tell DH the cops were on the way he was standing behind a tree with just his drawers on, steno book and pencil in hand. He got so excited he forgot to put on clothes!

Elisabeth - I wouldn't be surprised if you get more donations from the news story. The more people that know about Chris the better. I'm going to put a link on the auction site to the news story so people can read more. And, while I promise to not start crying and throwing myself on the ground as our little auction makes money, but it is exciting. I believe what Margaret Mead's said, "Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has".

Now I'm off to shower and pretty myself up for my date with the giant mouse.

Erin said...

Damn it AP...some warning would be nice. Because now I have diet pepsi in my nose from laughing at this picture. Which is not only annoying, but a waste of precious caffeine!

Jill- did you get any bad weather overnight? Hope everyone is did ok in the storm.

Kristin- I am jealous of your nice weather. It is chilly and foggy here. It is screaming "go back to bed!" at me ;)

Erin said...

Sandy- kids are just dumb sometimes. They think things like bashing your mailbox ix fun, but give no thought to anything beyond that. I guess that is the nature of the teenage male brain, but it still makes them assholes. A few years ago someone did a drive by shooting of out house and my neiighbors with a high powered paintball gun. the paint gun part made no difference. It still scared the shit out of us, and broke 2 of her windows. I hope C is ok.

twirldawg said...

EL we weathered the storm just fine. It looks like the grass grew a foot over night though!

T@iy@ said...

Hey everyone else besides Kristin, since I only said good morning to her.

Kristin- you are way too full of energy this morning. We did cereal, then I loaded the dishwasher through a sleep haze and ran to the store for ice since I am on this huge ice-chewing kick and can't keep up with making it.

On another note, DD doesn't understand the point of 'kiss it and make it better'. Every time she sees her "owie" again (a bruise from playing) she makes us kiss it. Alllll of us. Including herself. :)

Muliebrity said...

I don't have anything for the Daisy auction, but I have a shit ton of stuff for eBay and I plan to list a few special auctions to benefit Chris. I just need to get my ass in gear!

Muliebrity said...

Taiya, Ice? That's funny! I woke up so hungry today and since we only have goat's milk (uh, no thanks) I ate my leftover spinach pancakes I made yesterday. We are out of honey though. Who was it that has like 4 things if honey? Feel free to send me 3 of them!

Erin said...

Morning everyone else. Please forgive my misspellings. I am not awake yet.
Taiya- that is funny. Ice chewing? Take your iron pill!!!

kristin said...

LM just came in and said "mommy, i got you someting" and I said, "what did you get me?" and he said "a fower" and brought me a dandelion and then gave me a kiss. Such a sweet kid. :)

and as for me, I'm doing good and this weather is motivating me but not motivating me to get through these pics.

Margaret - I will try to get you a pic but I don't know when I might get to storage since ex-SO hasn't called me.

and good morning to everyone else that popped on!

kristin said...

mulie - I would be happy to send you a few of my things of honey. :)

Lisa said...

Mulie, I'm sorry it isn't better but hey, you may as well practice flashing your bits about since you'll be doing it soon enough when the baby comes. ;-)

Anonymous said...

Mulie - I hope the yeast infection goes away soon.

Taiya - Your daughter is so funny :-)

Kristin - I had an awesome day yesterday.
You sound like you're doing well, I'm glad :)

T@iy@ said...

I have heard that about iron, but when I had my blood draw a few weeks ago they said my iron was great... so I guess I just want ice. :)

kristin said...

Taiya - LM used to do that but he now will kiss everyone elses bo-bo's if they have them.

I remember one of his teachers telling me that he and another girl bumped heads or something and even though he was crying, he went up to her and kissed her bo-bo.

He can be a little shit but most of the time he is a good egg :)

Muliebrity said...

I get this really great local honey, but I think I bought it from some random guy. I want some more of it! Hubby has had a sore throat, so he kind of polished off the last of it making himself herbal tea. I love it on my spinach pancakes and I use a little in the large batches of ice tea I make at home instead of Splenda. I guess I'll have to settle for Sue Bee until the Farmer's Market opens.

T@iy@ said...

We usually get honey at craft sales around here, Mulie, so i get in the predicament, too. We can never find the same kind twice.

Anonymous said...

Good Morning Ladies!

C is better. Thanks for asking AP. Her room is at the front of the house and she said she thought someone shot a gun at the house.

Hubs is out getting a new mail box.

Erin said...

Mulie- did you post the recipe for spinach pancakes? I have goat milk in my fridge too. Something tells me we may be the only ones!

Anonymous said...

Just caught up. Thanks ladies for your concern about C. She's okay this morning. She sprained her big toe yesterday. It's still really swollen.

Lisa said...

Sandy, I'm glad C is okay...how scary for her.

Do y'all drink the goat's milk, cook with it or what?

Erin said...

AP- I make cheese with mine. It is one of the very, very few things my picky 5 year old *will eat.

Muliebrity said...

EL, I just use either Bisquick or regular just add water pancake mix. I put a couple of handfuls of spinach through the food processor and mix it and some milled flax seed in with the batter. I add sour cream if I have it, but I haven't lately because I've been disturbed by all the ingredients in it.

Deb said...

I just wanted to pop on and say good morning to everyone, it has been such crazy busy weekend and I have a lot to do today.

Is SW okay? The weather was just awful there and I've been thinking about her.

We are leaving for FL on Thursday and I am determined to pack today. I'll pop back in later!

T@iy@ said...

Had a sizzler steak last night from the 1/4 cow that we bought... *so delicious! I wish I had gotten a roast out when we got it on Friday, because that sounds good in the crock pot on a chilly rainy day such as today.

Lisa said...

EL, is the cheese worth making? I'm wanting to try a new project.

Deb, hi! Have a great time down here - it's summer already so be prepared for heat and humidity.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

So...many...kids...fighting, yelling...

Oh, 4 year old tantrums! Oh, Discordia!

I may not make it...tell the world my story.

Muliebrity said...

My 2 year old, Hunter, does not do well with cow's milk and was not getting enough calories from soy (and I don't like the phytoestrogen qualities), so we switched him to goat and he has gained over 6 lbs and 3 inches since August. I buy it at the store, but I found a source for raw goat's milk which I should be getting some soon.

twirldawg said...

Oh cheese making! That is my next project too.

EL do you make feta?

kristin said...

awesome Mulie!

kristin said...

and BD - you are a saint to have that many children in your home! :)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Right now they are not fighting, but they are taking turns playing with A's Barbie guitar, which only plays 2 verses of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." And they've been singing along. For 45 minutes. Sweet Jeebus.

Erin said...

AP- it is easy. I can only find ultra pasturized, which can be hard to get to curdle, but not too bad.

Mulie- I also just found a source for raw. When the kids are weaned (they were just born) I will have some.

BD- from this day forth, you will serve as a cautionary tale.

Erin said...

Jill- I have never made feta. Have you?

Erin said...

AP- this is the recipe I used. Since I had ultra paturized milk I increased the heat to 190 degrees.

Morning, Ds. Thank you everyone for the nice words re the donation. When we got the email saying someone wanted to send a check for that amount, I immediately started bawling and Chris goes, oh God who died?? So being able to read it to him was awesome. We had not discussed the lack of rent yet but I know it was very heavy on his mind.

It's good that I have something to balance out my bummed-ness today.........cause I am very very sad. I just went in to give Chris his 10am meds and first as he was trying to sit up, he couldn't get enough leverage and I had to grab him like a ragdoll to keep his head from slamming into the headboard. Then when he was finally sitting up, his left hand (which is stubbornly curled into a very tight fist with no voluntary movement yet) was shaking do bad he was literally punching himself in the stomach and I had a hell of a time holding his arm down until it passed. When I was finally able to hand him the little cup
with his pills, he looked at me and had the saddest face ever.......and he said, God I am so tired of being BROKEN. =(

He is so upbeat and funny so much of the time, I think it's easy to forget what this must really do to him. =(

Muliebrity said...

I sure hope you can get him a hospital bed after freakin Medicaid kicks in. That will be so much better for everyone.

Anonymous said...

Good morning, everyone :)

Sandy, sorry about the mailbox. Was last night Vandal Saturday in Illinois? I missed that memo.

Mulie, have you ever tried almond milk? Sounds like you are doing great with the goat's milk, though. I use almond milk instead of soy.

SW had a progressive dinner last night, right? Maybe that's why she wasn't around. Hopefully she didn't get transported to Oz.

I'm watching It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I *love Charlie so much. "I'm going to smack your face off your face! I'm going to smash your face into a jelly!"

Anonymous said...

Elisabeth, thank God that Chris has his humor to help him along this journey. Even though it is so hard for him, and for you, laughing does help. I'm sorry he had a tough time this morning :(

Anonymous said...

Elisabeth, Chris has a great spirit. Sorry for the rough morning.

Bella, Vandal night...this is why I want a German Shepard who is trained to attack! We got a temporary fix on the mail box but the entire thing needs to be redone.

Where would one in the city get goat milk? Health food store?

kristin said...

Elisabeth - hugs to Chris!

Muliebrity said...

I get my goat's milk from Wal-Mart and the regular store. It's pretty pricey though.

I bought everything to make my own almond milk and have never gotten around to it. I was waiting until he got past 2 anyway because of the potential nut allergy thing. I need to try it for myself because I have to cut out dairy when breast feeding.

Anonymous said...

Sandy, for pasturized goat milk I would think Trader Joe's?

Anonymous said...

Bella, when the end of the world comes and I move in with you, can we have a goat?

Muliebrity said...

TJ does have goat's milk, but I'm not sure how it's priced there because the closest TJ's is 200 miles away!

Anonymous said...

The guy across the road from us has goats and sheep. We can steal some from him, Sandy.

T@iy@ said...

Elisabeth- Sorry that you guys have had a rough morning! Hugs all around. Hope the day gets better!

Anyone have any ideas how to cook swiss steak? Never cooked it, but we got one out of the freezer to try.

T@iy@ said...

Who shall we send to bail you out of jail once you get arrested for stealing livestock? :)

Robin in Montana said...

Taiya - I have a recipe, but I"ll have to dig it up and can't do it right now. Try REcipezaar and sort by rating, too.

T@iy@ said...

Would it be lame to offer up letters for a name as a craft thing for Crafts for Chris? I embroider, sew, and do some other crafty stuff, but I honestly do not have the time nor necessary energy to do that right now. Does that seem like something anyone would bid on?

Anonymous said...

I'm just a low down dirty cattle rustler, Taiya :D

Swiss steak is a tougher cut? Isn't it usually done in some sort of a gravy?

T@iy@ said...

From the recipes I am looking at it is cooked in a stove or slow cooker over time with onions, peppers, garlic, pepper, salt, etc...

Erin said...

Taiya- not lame at all!
Elisabeth- has chris tried a brace for his hand? My brothe had a molded one that he wore some of the time to keep his fingers stretched out. It was a lightweight plastic and velcro thing he got from the dr.

T@iy@ said...

Soo.. who's Tina?

Anonymous said...

I'm out for a bit. Here's your funny for the morning:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFicqklGuB0&feature=player_embedded

Shannon said...

Tina is someone from OHIH that we used to post with there. Since the demise of that sight she has said things about different members that are here now that are not very kind....such as a post she made on her blog talking about "mean girls". She, like GM whom she is "friends" with, decided that we are all nothing more then mean hateful girls with no lives.

I do see that she is playing innocent victim but I for one do not buy it for one single second.....it is pretty darn amazing that she knows exactly how to steal someone's ID and how to change ID's easily enough while blaming people on this board for doing such things. The woman she is talking about, the one we mentioned who had the horrible things said on her blog about her son, we were friends with her. She was on the private blog, SIP, with us. Yet Tina is now saying it was some of us who said these things about her....ok sure that is so not true.

Tina is kind of like a snake in the grass and so long as you leave her be she is quiet and nice but as soon as you mention her faults she snaps and gets ugly. It is just what she does and she has done it many many times in the time that I have known her.

T@iy@ said...

K. Just checking. It was very obvious which side of devious, hateful women she was talking about, so I just thought i'd find out who she was. I was kind of interested in the whole thing where she knew exactly what to do to fake a comment. Never would have occurred to me even if someone posted as me. I would just assume someone hacked my password, would change it, and apologize.

T@iy@ said...

Thanks everyone for the lovies. I just was heart. broken. at the look in his eyes when he said that about being broken.

Mulie........we actually HAD a hospital bed! We took apart his bed, stored it in mom & dad's garage, and set up a hospital bed which we were renting by the month. After the 3rd night, he said he was in so much pain (his back) that if we didn't get his bed back, he would literally go insane. He still sleeps horribly but at least he DOES sleep sometimes where as he did not sleep at ALL and was practically delerious from exhaustion.

I do wish it had worked out tho. It's hard to sit him up and very hard to get him out of bed.

All this talk re goats milk has made me wonder if I should try it for Chris. His meds have caused a bit of lactose intolerance. But he LOVES a giant bowl of cereal. I have been considering trying soy but it's so $$$.......maybe goats milk is the way to go.

T@iy@ said...

Oops, by obvious I meant that her post made it obvious. Not because I feel like anyone here is devious or hateful. :( I just wasn't believing the post and wanted to find out who she was.

T@iy@ said...

Well, I am getting crawled upon by DD and should do something productive.

Lindsay said...

Hey y'all!

It is darn near impossible to catch up when being gone for 2 days. Sheesh!

Lisa said...

Elisabeth, I just hate this for both Chris and for you, for all his family. :-( Is he able to get out much with friends at all? And I'll bet he's going to be thrilled you shared the lactose intolerant thing with us.

EL, thanks for the recipe!

Did we lose Stacy as quickly as we got her?

And...where's Tina posting?

kristin said...

Hey lindsay! where ya been?

I am going to mom's - supposed to be there now but LM just fell asleep. It was sis and g'ma's b-day yesterday and some family from Michigan are in town (g'pas sisters) so we are doing the birthday thing over there. Plus it is sis's & BIL's 1st anniversary.

Lindsay said...

Hey Kristin - just life, I tell ya. It kind of puts a damper on my internet life :p I've been thinking about you. Hope you are hanging in there. Did you get the presents all lined up?

Anonymous said...

Hey Lindsay...I know how you feel.

Tina's defending her honor on the BF. And they believe her...just because she said so. Oh she's not nasty or mean either. Nope not her.

http://www.theblogfrog.com/1322951/forum/22121/ladies-i-need-your-help.html

Shannon said...

I was going to post a comment on the BF but honestly what good is it going to do really? I mean she is to big of a chicken shit to come here and say anything, as usual, but she will try to be all sweet and innocent to people who dont even know.

twirldawg said...

For the record Tina was never invited to SIP. It was agreed upon that she wasn't welcome.

Lindsay said...

Hi Christy!

Shannon said...

Exactly Jill....she and GM have both been all about telling people that they were invited but chose to decline. None of us on SIP wanted either of them there. They were two of the biggest reasons it was a private blog.

kristin said...

Does anyone have her e-mail? I would like to send her an e-mail, I don't see it on her blog. I'm sure I have it but it doesn't pop up when I type it in g-mail. Can you e-mail me? klgseaaggie75 (AT) gmail

Below is a copy of an email I sent out earlier to see if there was any interest in a smaller more cohesive group. It has since been started, by invite only to keep away some of the troublemakers. Let me know if you'd like an invite. Your name has already been mentioned there as one who I should be sure to invite by a few other members.

Yes, it was a crazy day yesterday. What disturbs me the most is that Krista is the one who perpetuated it. She has proven time and time again to be volatile and unstable and I am sad and angry that her actions are (I fear) about to destroy a decent group of women.

Bottom line to me is...you simply don't talk to people like that. Many have written and wondered privately if she has a drug and/or alcohol problem. That would certainly be on explanation, although it would still not make it okay.

And God helps those who help themselves. I haven't seen anything to indicate she is helping herself so I want to disassociate with the mess.

When something that started as so cohesive and supportive turns into something that causes angst, it's just not worth it. I don't see this "blowing over" nor do I see anyone feeling truly comfortable any more. Admittedly, I don't know, I'm just speaking from my gut. I do know that to go somewhere that will/would leave with me with hurt would be unwise on my heart. There's already enough hurt in the world that I can't control.

That being said, I am considering setting up a different spot. It would have to be one that would be open to a core group of trusted people from OHIH. That being said, I am tossing out a feeler to see if there is interest. How about you? How do you feel...would there be an interest or do you just feel better waiting to see if it blows over?

Wendy
http://brokenwon.blogspot.com/

kristin said...

Tina - that was just the initial e-mail to see if there might be interest in it, not the actual invite.

Just sayin'!

Shannon said...

Glad to see that instead of dragging this all through a group of ladies that have nothing to do with any of it you decided to come to the place where it is happening.

I mean exactly what was the point of putting that all out on SIF saying several times how there are people that post in both places? Take as many down a you can?

Tina said...

Just saying she DID invite me and I declined and Shannon is saying again I wasn't invited, but yet Shannon has the copy of this email...just saying....

Just saying that I leave you ladies alone but yet you continue to have people make up stories and talk crap about me....

Leave me alone and I will be happy to leave all of you alone.....other wise....don't expect me to sit by while you talk about me and I'm not going to defend myself...you guys brought it up about IB NOT me....and the person who did that to IB knows who they are....and it wasn't me.

BTW Kristin I didn't say you were vile...if you are not saying nasty things....I guess I'm not talking about you...BUT if you are .....I guess vile would apply....just saying....

twirldawg said...

Tina for someone who really cares about what others think about you, you don't make yourself very likeable.

I'm done with this discussion and will not engage you anymore. If you don't like us, leave us alone.

Tina said...

Shannon you brought this up again about IB last night and people I am in another group with read here...I asked my friends for their input and I NEVER mentioned names or this website...

It is none of your business who I chat with online...just like it is none of my business who you chat with....just saying....

Shannon you went and replied and now they know it is you...but you did that to yourself....just saying....

kristin said...

Tina - you said:

"The ladies on the other site are vile and actually I don't care what they say..."

which makes us all vile - just sayin' you might want to clarify...but it is okay b/c I truly enjoy this group of "vile" low-life, daisy sniffin', white trash women!

and Taiya - you have now met Tina!

Tina said...

Jill:

back at you...just saying...but in order for that to happen you need to stop mentioning my name...just saying....

Shannon said...

Well you know what Tina things were said HERE not on SIF's BF so why go over there talking about how poor Tina is being called out over there? Why drag in ladies that have NOTHING to do with anything from any of what is being said instead of going where these things are being said?

Lisa said...

Oh, Lord...lol.

I play games and do some laundry and some back to drama. Not that I don't love drama, mind you.

Shannon said...

Honestly Tina I dont care if they know I said anything at all about you. I really dont. I own what I say, I always have. I have not had to be sneaky about things I say and if I am going to say it I am going to own it. If they choose to hate on me because I do not like you and find you devious then that is not on me but I am not going to sit by while people are listening to our drivel and call people out that they have nothing to do with.

And I was involved in a conversation about what you and your friend did to someone else.

Anonymous said...

I'm vile but I'm doing okay. How are you?

Lisa said...

Tina, I'm not going to go to BF and spread this all around. It started here and personally, I'm keeping it here. Many, many of us saw what was said, and by whom, on IB's blog. It was horrific and we all saw which two people did it. I know I used to have some screen shots of it all but may have deleted them. If I can find them, I'll post them and that should clarify that, no? If I can't so be it. People can make their own decisions on who to believe, I reckon.

As for your invitation from Wendy, I'm going to say right out loud here that I'd not be a bit shocked to find out what you're saying is true. I don't know either way but I always suspected some people they not be and they just quietly lurked and read to get info. I mean, it isn't as if we'd have ever known, right?

twirldawg said...

Corinne you aren't vile, you just have a tendency to post songs on your FB that get stuck in people's heads.

Jill - LOL :D

Hi Shannon, AP, Christy et al!

Lisa said...

Adding to that, there's a reason why, on a totally private blog, we couldn't look at the sitemeter...no? I don't think we should summarily discard what Tina is saying about that. It's possible.

Lisa said...

Hey, Corinne, you vile piece of work. :-D

Shannon said...

You are right AP....it could very well be possible since we were kept in the dark an awful lot.

Lisa said...

Shannon, yes, we were. I'm no fan of Tina's but I can be fair about things and this is one we need to step back and really think about.

So, I would just say that I don't believe for *one minute that Wendy was honest and upfront with you all. Sorry if that offends any of the current SIP girls, but I just don't think you can take anything at face value. I'm quite sure she would deny inviting me if asked, and deny my subsequent banning, so it would be entirely possible she'd do the same to Tina. There's my two cents.

With that, I'm off to watch my kids ride dirt bikes and freak out every time they go over a jump. Have a good afternoon ladies ;)

Lindsey I remember you being on SIP and being banned.

So for all we know we are a bunch of middle aged men sitting around in our underpants, in beanbag chairs, eating Cheetos.

kristin said...

bye lindsay - have a great day - and hope it is not too stressful!

I'm gonna attempt to wake the wee one so we can leave too!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

You didn't kill it, I'm just working at the same time. I lost work time with the kids here last night.

Lindsay, if I remember correctly, she did admit to inviting and then banning you, but from what I remember, she said she did it because you had not posted for a while. I could be thinking of someone else, however.

Anonymous said...

Sandy - It was a documentary by a French TV channel but I don't remember the name right now!

I have to log off for today but I promise to look it up and tell you! :)

Hi Lindsay! Bye Lindsay!

Have a good day all!

Lisa said...

Lindsay, I remember as BD does. And it was good to see you today - you're gone too much. :-)

BD, all the kids but yours are gone now?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Yes. They had a great time, but I'm pooped. M is napping and A is watching TV while I work. ;)

How are you doing, AP?

Lisa said...

I'm just fine...busy with laundry and stuff, listening to music - just a quiet day. Enjoy the restored peace around your house.

Shannon said...

HAHA so I almost managed to be productive :) I did get the damn reservoir for the radiator cleaned out some so I could put water back in it though.

Stacy said...

Good Afternoon, All! How's everyone's day going??

Anonymous said...

I got my roast in the oven. That's as productive as I get today.

Anonymous said...

Hi Stacy!

Stacy said...

Hi sandy, how are you?

Anonymous said...

I'm good and you?

Stacy said...

I'm ok, wishing Monday wasn't approaching!

Nilia said...

Um..... okay. Well good afternoon to anyone on right now. I'm trying to be productive today too. So far, it's not looking very promising.

Anonymous said...

I'm back and damn, more SIPs talk, banning and Corinne is vile?

The good news is the air conditioning at Chuck-e-Cheese was not working so I think I sweat off 15 lbs.

Anonymous said...

Margaret, Chuck-e-Cheese is the product of the devil. *nods*

I was completely unproductive today. At least I didn't watch any documentaries about lobotomies or hillbillies.

Hi FT!

Time for dinner bbl.

Erin said...

Hi FT!

PJ said...

Hi all - off to catch up last night and today.

AP, I "borrowed" the JesusYMCA for my FB status, asking all who were offended to forgive me.

Nilia said...

Hi Sandy, EL and CK! How's C today Sandy?

My youngest wanted a Chuck E Cheese birthday party last summer and I told him it had closed down.

Sorry but that picture makes me uncomfortable.

Nilia said...

Once Wendy referred to the host as a stale or expired cracker or something. I wish I'd spoken up then...

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I don't want to toot my own horn or anything, but A. and I just made sour cream mocha fudge cupcakes, and they are incredible.

Nilia said...

Any nurses on here right now? My youngest just wiped out on his bike. The handlebar hit him just below and slightly to the centre of his left nipple, like in front of his heart in all likelihood. There's a mark there and I"m sure it's going to be a hell of a bruise. He can breathe okay and isn't complaining anymore although it does hurt if I touch it. Should I get this looked at? I hate to overreact which is more often than not what I do. But do you think this warrants medical attention? I mean a broken rib or sternum would hurt even if I didn't touch it, wouldn't it?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

All right, maybe a little toot.

(toot)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

My dad broke a rib when I was a kid...it hurts like hell at all times. So yeah, he'd probably be screaming bloody murder even if you weren't touching it.

Nilia said...

BD: Sour cream in a cupcake? I'm intrigued. A mix or scratch?

Nilia said...

BD: that's what I figured, that it would hurt but have no personal experience of this. Thanks.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

FT: I usually make all my stuff from scratch. The sour cream stands in for milk, although I have heard of people using sour milk in chocolate cakes. Even the batter was exquisite. I think they'd be fine on their own, but A. wants to frost them so...

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I mean, I'm not telling you not to get it checked or anything, but it doesn't sound like a broken rib to me. My dad has an incredibly high tolerance for pain, so for him to admit that it is agony is saying a great deal.

Muliebrity said...

My husband broke the garage door and is now being a beotch!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Incidentally, we are out of vanilla extract, so in the vanilla frosting I am replacing it with Kahlua.

Anonymous said...

I have *tried to make cakes and cupcakes from scratch but they always taste like flour to me. What do you think I'm doing wrong?

FT, C is good today. Obsessing about her sprained toe.

PJ said...

::asking FT to forgive me for finding the picture funny::

Nilia said...

BD: I'll be having sour cream tonight also, only in my case it will be liberally applied to tacos. My kids love the stuff and I'll have mine vegetarian, not bad but not filling. Maybe I'll have beans on mine.

I've been looking around for Red Velvet mix for cakeballs and the stuff just doesn't exist here, I tell you! I have a made-from-scratch recipe sent to me by cupcake I'm pretty sure it was (whatever happened to her?) but I'm a lazy baker... I'm going to make myself to it. And I have until June to procrastinate.

PJ said...

::but still finding it funny::

I am a sinner....

Nilia said...

::secretly wonders if BD hid the vanilla::

Jennifer-Lynn said...

:)

Sandy, I'm not sure. I'm not a great baker myself, but I do it because A. loves to spend time with me to do it. She loves helping in the kitchen.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

::abashed that FT caught her::

Nilia said...

Sandy: Um, using too much flour? I'm probably not the best person here to dispense baking advice so I'll shut it.

I don't have a mailbox on a post here but I know what you are referring to. I think making the replacement based in concrete sounds like a swell idea. Hopefully it takes out some hooligan's elbow.

Anonymous said...

I'm an okay baker. But cakes, not so much. I should try it again.

PJ said...

OT

Mulie,
I never had success with the 3 day treatments. Always had to use the 7 day.

Nilia said...

CK: Oh no don't take that comment like it was directed at you. What I meant was that I wished I had spoken up at SIP on that matter and on many many others. I like that here I can post that it made me uncomfortable. It wasn't meant to chastize anyone. It wasn't a veiled suggestion to AP to censor anything. It does make me uncomfortable because it's such a profound moment and those guys are goons. So I just said that it was. Wasn't meant to spank anyone!

But if it makes you feel better, I forgive you. :0)

PJ said...

AP,
The Husband's third interview with purveyor of natural handcare and cleaning products is May 4. So 10 days away.

He's still on the long list for about 5-6 more at a large company - but the huge corporate wheels are turning slowly.

Anonymous said...

The post itself is in concrete. They bash off the box portion. This time (after being hit constantly) the platform that the box attaches to is toast. Hubs rigged it for now. The weather is crap here. It's rained for almost 2 days straight.

PJ said...

I respect that it bothered you, FT. I just wanted you to know that.

No chastizing felt (although some people probably think it should have been).

I'm interested in seeing what kind of kooks it brings out on FB. And not at all afraid of making my fundamentalist formerly Mennonite niece squirm a bit.

PJ said...

Taiya,
Kristin amazes me with her energy. Wishing I was her age again.

tumbleweedgirl said...

hello to the drama

i was supposed to nap with Rock, but got a serious case of the giggles. i don't know what's gotten into me, but it's fun. (:

bd

i LOVE sour cream in batter. plain yogurt works too, soured milk as well. if you make the soured milk, the sourer it gets (longer it sits with the souring agent), the fluffier it is.

-- who had the missing non-functioning backspacE?

you could remap the key to the Caps lock key. easy-peasy. no need to spend $$$ on a new kbd.

Nilia said...

OT: was grocery shopping earlier today at a mainstream large-chain grocery store. You know, regular stuff nothing weird.

I did buy a dozen Blue live crabs, they're little bitty crabs that are so much work to eat but they are very tasty, esp. if they have eggs. So score for me, looking forward to enjoying them later tonight. Right now they're enjoying a salt bath in a bucket in the laundry.

But I also found, in the frozen seafood department... frogs legs! I was so intrigued I took a picture of the package! All I could think of was that AP could probably dream up a recipe for these things. And the legs weren't single, they were cut off at the waist and skinned! There were like I don't know, 10 per package I think for $15 or something. Not even if you GAVE me the $15.

OMG my stomach is churning just remembering it.

tumbleweedgirl said...

sandy

you'd have to say more of the recipe before we can guess about the taste (:

tumbleweedgirl said...

hey FT!!

nice to be around at the (hopefully) same time as someone

Nilia said...

CK: I totally lost track of your husband's interviews. Thanks for reminding me, and good luck to him!!

Sandy: Aw, crap... I know that has happened to you a few times, but is it like a prevalent problem? That would enrage me, perfect, that's all anybody needs to add to the day to day of life, eh?

CK: I hear ya. We're good!

And re: Kristin: no kidding! It's exhausting just keeping up with reading all the stuff she does, all the crafts and fishing and excursions and stuff she hosts and she wants to volunteer! God love her, she seems to have a very generous nature.

Nilia said...

Hi Rhys! True, we haven't been on at the same time for a little bit I don't think. How are things?

Muliebrity said...

Frog's legs are not bad! My dad fries them up like chicken wings!

tumbleweedgirl said...

ft

i had the giggles, so i didn't nap. so i'm poking at pictures, enjoying pics of our new niece, who is adorabley round and chubby

tumbleweedgirl said...

mulie

i've tasted many things, but not frog legs. i'm intrigued. do you like them?

Muliebrity said...

CK, Things see to be getting better with time, instead worse which is how almost every other day has been going. I'll probably still have to strip for the doc tomorrow though.

Anonymous said...

Boy child has a 100.2 temp. Explains why he is a bear and why he wants to take his shirt off.

TWG, I'll try to find the recipe. I'm pretty sure it was a plain simple white cake recipe. Nothing fancy.

Anonymous said...

Um...frog legs are good.

T@iy@ said...

Hey. Sorry I brought that whole thing up earlier. Just kind of wondered what the big deal was since I didn't remember that particular person or what it was really about...

I was productive!!! i can see my dining room table, my kitchen is clean, and we painted the landing/Eeq's space! Woot!

tumbleweedgirl said...

sandy

white cake recipes are hard for me. i do like a butter cake recipe, and a lot of the hershey.com recipes turn out fabulous.

my random guess - not enough flavoring, and maybe not enough liquid in the cake?

sorry about boy-child, temps are no fun

Muliebrity said...

I don't hate frog's legs, but I let the idea of what they are get to me. They taste a lot like chicken.

tumbleweedgirl said...

taiya

i'm impressed! gonna show pics?

i bet it's exciting. (:

Nilia said...

Mulie: is it true that they taste like chicken?

Nilia said...

Mulie: whoops, posted before refreshing. The flesh even looks like chicken, very white. That was unexpected.

Anonymous said...

FT, it does taste like chicken. I've only had them a few times and they are really good.

Anonymous said...

TWG, I agree with the flavoring. I'm going to try it again but I think I'll go to Hershey's and look there.

tumbleweedgirl said...

i suppose i'd try frog legs if we had them out here. (:

they don't grow too well in the desert...

FT--frog legs are good stuff!

I was reading through some of the recent drama.

Really, really?

I wish we had access to the post in the last days of OHIH. Tina was a raging...uhm, well, you know. She was all out loony calling folks all kinds of names and even using the "C" word against people she disagreed with.

I don't know everything. I never professed to know everything, and I never will know everything. But I do *know* we all decided that she wasn't going to be a welcome presence when we all left OHIH and went to SIP.

Tina, clearly you read here, so I'll address you directly--I remember as OHIH was dying, you viciously attacked a woman named...was it Erin? Emily? It was something like that. I saw the error you had made, and I pointed it out to you. Not only did you continue to attack her and DEFEND that attack, you also turned around and bit ME for trying to point out your error.

You were most definitely not a saint, and you were the poster child for "mean girl" the way you treated some folks. It was despicable.

I hate that all this animosity keeps being drug up over and over and over and perpetuating drama that should have been dead long ago. It's ridiculous.

You may be the nicest person IRL, but you have been a drama maker and perpetrator online. Give it a rest already.

Whoever lodged the attack against IB and her baby was just a sick and despicable individual. If it wasn't you, then why waste so much energy trying to convince people of your innocence?

NEWS FLASH: No one cares anymore. It's done, and people have moved on, without you.

Sheesh.

Nilia said...

Rhys: these frogs legs were "farmed in Vietnam". Yum.

psst...new post up!

If I recover enough energy to get up again then I will take some photos. :)
