So just in case I've been forgotten, and because I ate all your guy's easter gifts (what can I say?) I've been laying low (read as : fever, vomitting, exhaustion) for the past few weeks. Hiii everyone
Sooo.. just in case you guys have forgotten me, I've been laying low (read as: fever, vomitting, exhaustion) for a while. Also I ate your guy's easter gifts.. (what can I say?) and was hoping you'd forgotten by now and I could ninja in like I'm not an awful nonbeliever in jesus the hare and savior of us all. Hiii everyone.
L - I did. The people doing the sale put a lot of stuff away for themselves. I'm not sure what the urgency is because the sale is not until next weekend.
LFoB - perky enough to go ninja on someone? AWESOME!
Lindsay - ummmm...no, I mellowed a bit - but I really wish people would do what they said they were gonna do - twice now @ 5:00 I find out a vendor hasn't done what they were supposed to do - so I stay after. Who is the particular person you wish to punch in the face?
RiM: I've made PWs jalapeno poppers they are awesome!
Sandy: Wow, sounds complicated. Sorry. You know what's best for your family. There's some stuff going on in mine too, and it for sure plays a part in any decisions we make.
Well, I am not going to be here much longer. I have to go to bed. I was up far too late last night being aggravated. Have fun with your clothes, Kristin!
LFoB Kay - I have missed you! And glad you are up to feeling feisty! However, blogger is so aggravating when you finally come to join the fun and it's like "Heellllllooooooo"
Lisa - the name AP has grown on me :-D Can I keep it that way for Daisy?
Sandy - That was so scary, you and kids being in lock down during that home invasion. Good to see and read you!
Lindsay - 10???? Oy! You are doing a great job - but it makes your head spin looking forward to the teens! Happy Birthday to Grady!
Kristin - You have mail :-D
Elisabeth - A joy to have you here and you make us laugh, too :-D
http://care4chris.110mb.com/blog Elisabeth! Just got back from visiting your blog. Good job! I did not leave comment, but want you to know you write very well.
Hey Taiya and Sandy! I was busy making some chicken soup just now for lunches tomorrow. Sandy I'm glad the first IEP meeting went so well. Sounds like things are going well so far with this admin? So glad!
Oh good grief. Went from not being able to post to posting too early.
Elisabeth - whoever it was that found your twitter to McK and then linked it over to MWoP - they have my applause, too! AWESOME that now Chris has 3 weeks of Rehab and meds. I bet he is exhausted from the increase in PT, but I sure hope it has brought up his spirits!
FT- the principal didn't sit in on this one which was a surprise to me. It was just putting in place all the stuff for academics i.e. extra time on tests, being able to use a computer etc.
The one in two weeks is the behavior mod plan. That's the one that stings the most.
Kay, it's so good to see you! I just hate that you've been feeling so badly, even if it hasn't affected your sense of humor. So, what's the newest? Do the doctors think you're making any progress toward getting better? I'm hoping there's some good news, somewhere.
Taiya, I hope tomorrow doesn't bring any more bad news for your friend. ;-/
Elisabeth, I read your blog and you mentioned Daisy - thank you! What a sweet thing to read. :-) I like Chris' name best, by the way.
Mulie, I can go take a look at Blog Frog, see what it involves. Would anyone else be interested in that, if it's easily do-able?
Confession: I'm having trouble getting used to being Lisa, too. *hangs head*
I don't get too involved in IEPs since I'm not a classroom teacher, and only get asked as pertains to my subject. I'm going to ask our SERT (Spec Ed Resource Teacher) about this tomorrow, about the 2 meetings. I can understand that one meeting might be too long and so they divided it into separate meetings to deal with separate parts of the IEP (academics, behaviour), but I (think) she's not new to an IEP so... anyway I'm going to find out a little more about what someone "in the know" thinks about this. Do you feel prepared for the second meeting? Sorry if this is prying but I presume C is on medication? The IEP should include strategies for C to help herself, as well as teacher-led interventions when C is not able to "cooperate". You know your daughter better than anyone, I think you're an awesome advocate for her rights to a proper education.
AP - Do you follow Top Chef Masters on your Bravo? We're watching it, waiting for AI. I was so thrilled to see David Burke on it - I have his cookbook and it is one of my favorites.
Kaytie, I watched it, yes, love all these cooking competitions. I won't say anything more and ruin it for anyone, though. I will say I've seen Marcus Samuelsson (sp?) on some of these shows before and really like him. I was rooting for him. David's recipes are good, then?
FT- C is not on any meds. Psych doc doesn't think there is a need at this point. The reason for the 2nd meeting is because as is the academics ran almost an hour and a half. This whole week at school is everyone who has an IEP annual review time. I would rather be able to spend quality time discussing everything than being rushed through it.
C's main behavioral problem at school is compliance when doing classroom work or tests/quiz. She will out and out tell them I'm not doing it. This will often lead to a meltdown/shutdown. The Spec. Ed. Resource Teacher and other LBS got together and met to discuss different strategies in order to bring C back into focus when she refuses to do school work. This meeting will include how they will handle C when she shuts down like giving her options. Just enough options to get C that feeling that she is in control, but not really. They explained a little of what they want to do so I'll have a better explanation of it after the meeting.
Well, latest update on my waterworld fiasco - I found out today that we managed to damage the actual hot water faucet to the washer in all the drama. This all started because I couldn't use the hot water since the hose leaked and after all the wet dust settled and I paid someone to fix my mess, I still can't use the hot water to wash in. I just give up.
I wish I'd been able to get pictures of the whole thing since it really was funny, in hindsight. Miss Arse was laughing today that every time I get in trouble and have to call her, screaming "come help me!", it involves her getting soaking wet. She's right, every single time that's been the case.
AP - I am so sorry about the hot water being damaged. What a pain! When a third of our house was flooded out from a hot water heater, it was so discouraging. I do chuckle at Miss Arse visual, though...priceless!
And yes re: david burke recipes. He did the horseradish cheddar recipe I bragged on years ago.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,590956,00.html I deleted my comment because I copied/pasted wrong link. The foxnews virus piece made me cry. I took care of some of the first AIDS patients in Seattle and the thought of more viruses...well, it makes me cry.
Everyone is welcome! The only real rules here are no spamming shit and no posting personal addresses, phone numbers or other similar info. I don't need that kind of stress. That's it, although it could change if someone gets creative or something. If you don't like what is said here, you can: 1) Say so; 2) Hold it in and stew on it; 3. Address it privately to the person who said it; 4) Snark about it to your friends; 5) Leave. Don't bother me with it, I don't care and I won't get involved. I might, however, talk about you behind your back or post your email/message to me on here. *grins*
Them's the rules...all of them.
Have fun!

Funny, yet true! Sorry you've been so ill.
M - did you go over to C's yet?
K - still need to punch someone? I have the need to punch someone, too. And no surrogates would work. It *has to be this exact person.
While my son was screaming bloody murder during his shots today, I think I saw that one of his teeth has decay on it. Blech.

Hey FT!
Hey FT!
OT but why does dog food cost so damn much? For the love of God my dog only weighs 6 pounds. I spent 30.00 bucks on dog and bird food.
LFoB, sorry you haven't been feeling well.
Kristin, TX may have to fumigate! LOL
And I killed it! ::stands self in corner::
I'm here, Sandy. Just don't have anything to say. :)

AP - AP - AP :-D
:::being noncompliant Daisy here:::
Hmph! Let's just all give it up, shall we?

Yay AP's back!!!
AP- I'm sorry all that happened. I just have this mental picture of Miss Arse throwing herself into the gushing water! LOL
Well Daisies, I'm tired and I'm out.
Good Night!
Goodnight, Sandy.
