They are really weird about antibiotics here...they won't prescribe them as a preventative measure.
A. has had three UTIs (from bubble baths) and no one would give the poor kid an antibiotic for days, until they got the test results back. I'd say this was just for kids, but I got no antibiotics after either of my surgeries. It was not until after my belly button started to ooze pus (TMI?) that I got an antibiotic ,and I actually had to go into the office for the doctor to squeeze the pus out himself before he'd prescribe ABs (can't remember what type I got...I want to say Keflex).
So no, we'll have to wait and see how we do. I'm more worried for M than myself, because she can't tell me if her throat hurts. In her case, I'm watching her closely for fever.
Another repost: Mulie- for the last 5 weeks with my last (again. emphasis on *last) I wore a nightgown. All.the.time. Served many purposes: it was comfy. I didn't have to change for bed. Its lovliness discouraged even the *thought of 'worship'.
Kristin- thanks! The girls are excited to get them. What about a cleaning service, or gift card for a meal? Haircut?
RiM- try the Valtrex. ::she says quickly as she moves away from the leper::

Hi ladies! I have nothing witty, informative, or entertaining to add, so just hi! Sorry for everyone who is ailing, hurt, or outgrowing their maternity pants. Been there done that 4 times!
I do have some dresses I could rock. It's just my large thighs pose a problem.... Oh well. I could just start wearing men's sweat pants or something. But I'm not THAT uncomfortable.

Kaytie - well I sure did. I just wish I hadn't chipped my last tooth on those damn corn nuts! That put a damper on my evening. Well that and running barefoot from the cops.
RiM - I might just do so. I liked your passing out jello shots! Haven't had one of those. Hmmm...project for the day...since my soap stuff I ordered STILL is not here.
SW, yep from the Spec. Ed. Teacher. I guess she's running at the mouth and not being very nice. That was late this morning. She's still the same this afternoon.
Kaytie, I knew you were a nurse, but didn't what patients you saw. If that makes sense.
I just had a personal question, and I wondered if I could ask you. But since you don't work with the specialty I'm concerned about, I don't know if you could help.
RiM and Margaret - how do you sign up for your give aways? I posted a comment here, but I think it got lost in all the posts. I really liked the pendants you gave RiM.
Kaytie --leave a comment on my blog on that post. Same thing as here. just click at the bottom of the post where it says "X comments" and then it will pop open the comments and the box for you to leave yours. My pictures suck, but those pendants are *really cool!
Another friend who has an Etsy store is going to have me do a giveaway for her stuff pretty soon, too.
KJ - it's a dysfunctional giveaway. You have to comment on RiM's blog and she'll pick a winner. You can pick a charm from my site because RiM's keeping the two I gave her. Or, I'll make you a custom if you don't see anything you like. My only stipulation is that it's nothing vaginal. I run a clean business :)
Blogger sucks. Is anyone else getting this message when they try to log in?
"Google could not create your account. Please see (link) Child Protection Guidelines"
Then I click my Blogger bookmark or come to this site, and I'm logged in. What the heck??? I'mnot trying to create an account, I just want to log IN to the one I have!
It's funny (only not *funny) that you're going throgh this right now. I'm on an email loop and four of the women there have children who have varying degrees of problems like what you're going through C and it's so interesting to listen to them talk about how they cope and what they do to deal with daily life and people who make comments (even family members) like, 'if you'd just *discipline her, you'd not have this problem,' or make comments about them not being good mothers, how it affects the other kids in their family, all of it. So interesting and so touching to see how it *is heartbreaking to them every single day, but how fiercely they love their children and want to do everything in their power for them.
Had to LOL at this though, Margaret! "My only stipulation is that it's nothing vaginal. I run a clean business."
I'm still shaking my head at the knitted labia and uterus (uterii?) from the other night. I mean, WTH?! So glad to hear you run a clean business. I ordered some of those charms for DD and my mom for Christmas, so I saved your etsy for next time. They are so cute!
Sorry about your daughter and the bad day, Sandy!
And everyone else's ailments, too. Catch up with y'all later.
Dammit! Blogger ate my comment I think. I tried to paraphrase what I caught of JM on the webcast but did a crappy job of it anyway. I think someone on MWOP did a play by play though.
I also made a petty comment about her looking like hell. I mean, I'm sitting here in an Oscar the Grouch t-shirt that I slept in and yoga pants with hair flying, LOL. But, I'm not doing a webcast with FOTF today either. She's just.... strange.
Okay - going to be busy - the 10 binders that I sent for the proposal that is due tomorrow by 11:00 - they can't find it. It was supposed to be delivered by 10:30. craptastic. f'in a!
Ok, now I feel bad for saying she looked like hell. I really do try to stay away from making picky comments like that. I do have to say, she has 4 kids and I have 1 who's 15, so I have no idea how difficult it is to shower, etc. with little kids to feed and take care of. I just figure she has a nanny or "good friend" or whatever, some kind of help but maybe she didn't have help today.
Kristin- I'm sorry, that sucks! Did you mail it? Tracking number?
Rhys - we can do it right after this if you want, if my other friend isn't ready. She's still getting her Etsy shop up and going.
You could either pick a specific print and size you want to give away, or we could link your gallery and say the winner gets to choose whichever print they'd like, and we'll specify the size. I tried to think of some question to ask or hoop to jump through with this contest, but I couldn't think of anything. If there's a question you'd like to ask people who enter (like what's your favorite popsicle color or whatever, lol) we can do that, or just make it based on comments, randomly draw a name, and that's it. I'd direct them to you to do the finalizing of sending it out.
Margaret - with the customizing of a pendant, how's that work? I was thinking of for my girls. Katie woudl freak over anything horse - if I find a picture of somethign I like online, you can do that? Or?
BJ - don't feel bad. If someone is going to interview you make an effort. I did not see today's but the last two she looked like she did not brush her hair. It's disrespectful - it's not like someone just dropped by the house and shoved a mic in her face.
Bj- i have four of various ages. if I know I have to be somewhere or do something, I make sure I am prepared, and sometimes that means showering before everyone is up. Yuck! This was on her calendar. She should have made *some effort. Same with the sloppy dressing, and PC's damn orange thermal. They just don't seem to *ever make an effort.
RiM - just send me a picture and I'll make it. I did my first photo custom last week of a little girl's dog and it turned out really cute.
How about doing a "crafts for chris" online silent auction. I think someone else offered to sell crafts for Chris. My things are small change but it might be fun to see what everyone comes up with. I set up silent auctions all the time for other charities - it's easy and fun.
I haven't watched (wanna pinky swear, CK?) but I just realized something.
JM and are the same age; she was born in August and I was born in November of the same year.
I'm not trying to flatter myself, or make fun of her, but she looks at least 10 years older than I do. From her pic, I would never think she is 32. I'm not even giving myself props, I'm kind of in shock. I'll grant her that she has more children than I do, and she's pregnant, but...damn. Even so.
This was the email send to all parents from my daughter's class. She is guilty on all counts.
"Please remind your student that they are still in school and when they talk to an adult they should treat them with the same respect they would as if they are talking to a Grandparent. Eye contact, yes, or no-not ya or huh, noth talking back or out of turn. If a student throws a paper at me that student gets a zero, no questions asked. My classroom family should also respect each other.
So now when parents ask their kid what's that all about...oh C did that.
Sandy I think it is time to talk to these teacher's mothers.....isnt that what you do if another child is bullying your child at school? I am sorry but, I assume that since you said something about autism with C that she is in that spectrum, isnt the biggest hurtle with autism the social behavior? I recognize that there are probably things with C that make keeping classroom "norms" difficult but freaking calling her out as an unspoken example will only make her behavior worse because it will make her frustrated because she will feel bad and such.
I bet you do. I can see the teacher e-mailing you privately, but not to blast it out like that to all, unless others in the classroom were doing it, too?
Ahhh, I'm not all the way caught up but y'all sure do make me feel better about my snark. That JM... she just pushes *everything* to the limit. I just think it's funny that all her pics of herself are sooo edited until she looks actually decent, but then when you see her on something like this, she looks like a totally different person.
I'm not sure about crafting something for an auction myself, but I'm all about buying something that someone else has crafted. Sounds like a great idea.
Shannon - Chris' video is one of the best videos I have seen, and I have seen many, since we are a stroke center (sorry to be talking of you Chris, but it is so important). You are not being a hypochondriac with your health concerns and questions and I am so glad you are getting it checked out.
Kay like I told my Dr yesterday...I am glad that I am able to get this assistance right now. I havent seen a regular doctor for over 6 years. This is giving me a chance to at least see where everything is at in my body so that if I have to wait another 6 years there will at least be some baseline of sorts.
After all I am almost 40 it is time to make sure what my body is doing. I think the coincidence of meeting Chris and hearing his story is just pretty awesome. After all the Dr is doing a lot of tests that will help figure out my stroke risks.
Back from OB. Nothing moving in the cervix, Eeq is 'floating breech' and not sure about the GBS, yet. OB is impressed with my preggoability. Still only gained 12 pounds! Woot!
Sandy- Such crap at that school! You have so much more patience than I do! Hugs to you and C!
I love Chris' video, too and wish I had contacts or something to bring more attention to it. I've never heard much about strokes happening in our age range (late 30s) but they DO happen and are preventable so many times. I really love that even in the middle of his rehabilitation, Chris is still concerned about bringing awareness to this.
Thank you Rhys.....I agree whole heartedly what they are doing to C is WRONG. This little girl is being harmed by this type of stuff from her school. As if dealing with kids that are bullies isnt hard enough what are you supposed to do when the bully is a teacher?
Now honestly my son had a teacher in 5th grade that was the deciding factor on how he is with school now. She bullied him. The school wouldnt do anything about it because she was retiring that year.....she also taught my son's father and bullied him as well.
If the school doesnt stop this stuff soon and start treating C like a child who doesnt fit into their perfect little box it is time to take some serious action.
BJ I always looked at strokes and heart attacks as being something that only happen to old people but in reality we are actually just as at risk being in our late 30's.
Yeah, my blood pressure's always okay, too but *cannot* get my cholesterol and especially triglycerides down for crap. They changed my med last month so we'll see. History of cardiac issues on dad's side, too. Scary stuff. Of course, changing my way of eating would help I'm sure.
Taiya- 12 pounds is incredible! I'm still holding onto baby weight 15 years later, LOL.
Shannon, the sad part is her team taught her this last year. Now the new team has been having a time from hell straightening it out. The public school system is not equipped to handle special needs kids period.
In order to get C transferred to the Autism school, I have to get their blessing. They won't give it because then they lose funding.
This poor baby has been swept under the carpet since before kindergarten.
Chris and Elisabeth are AWESOME! That in the midst of all this, to reach out and share with others their story.
Elisabeth - I know you are on rest mode (as you should be) but what about sending a video to the http://www.americanheart.org. They are focusing on prevention of Stroke nationally. I believe on their site you can post your story. That will reach a large population of Professionals as well as the public. You can then link that back to your blog and vise versa.
Rhys and Sandy it is so so so true that ANY public school is not set up and equipped to deal with special needs children. They get extra money when they have kids with special needs and even more if they have a child that needs to take meds while at school.
They see these kids as dollar signs and then expect them to fit into the realm of "normal". I am sorry but special needs kids CANNOT fit into the generally accepted concept of normal....to them it is completely abnormal and CANNOT be done...it sure the hell isnt because they dont want to.
Sorry I am a little passionate about this topic as well. My son was never considered special needs as he ONLY has ADHD but what he went through is the same as so many special needs kids go through. Bullying, belittling, blaming, being made the example, being the BAD kid, always being the one who is in trouble....BULLSHIT!!!
TWG- I definitely got tested! I just won't know if it is positive or negative before next week!
I am pretty happy with 12 pounds! We don't need to discuss what I gained with DD. Needless to say, it was a LOT. I lost all of it by my 6 week appointment, but then when DD stopped breastfeeding at 8 months I gained a lot back, *immediately I am hoping to lose a lot after breastfeeding with Eeq and being conscious of it and keep it off. We'll see if I stick to it, though!
I've had 2 flip around 37/38 weeks, so there is still time, Taiya. My baby has been so active recently. I hope she has flipped, so I don't have to stress over it!
I actually have Group B Strep with Maya; either I didn't have it with Alanna, or my OB never checked, and I really can't remember. I DO remember having it with Maya because everything went so wrong with that pregnancy that when found out I had GBS, I nearly collapsed.
Maya, however, was fine, and it meant I was on antibiotics until I delivered. It also means that if we have more, I go back on the ABs.
My impulse is to say that they did not test me for GBS when I was pregnant with A, because they did not screen me for CF, and it turns out that I am a carrier. Then Mr. BD had to get tested (he's NOT a carrier, so that was a huge sigh of relief. I know for a fact that they didn't do it, so maybe they just considered those tests to be optional. If given the option, though, I would have taken the tests.
Wow, you ladies talk a lot. I slept all afternoon and feel a little better, but it took so long to read that I need another nap.
As to videotaping birth and posting it, my son skyped to a bunch of people as his son was born in November. So much for a private family moment.
Sandy, I hate what is happening to your child. But I do have to say some public schools are better than others. I worked in an elementary school where one of my chief duties was helping the classroom fit the child, especially the child with different needs. I hope you are able to find a good solution to get the best possible for her.
Just found out the casino near us gives anniversary couples credits equal double the number of years thay've been married. So in June we will each get $76 to play video poker! I love free money even more than gambling.
I just bought Kelly a deer grunt/call for his birthday. His card says something about if you want hot, passionate sex for your birthday, count me in, blah, blah, blah. I hope he doesn't think the two things have anything in common ...
Okay ...still not caught up but got to the part about imaginary friends..yeah...so on the way home from school I try to go over the worksheets at stoplights, etc. So today we are going over the WS and there is a submarine -
Me: What's this LM: uh submarine - I rode on uh submarine.
Me: You did
LM: i rode uh submarine wit my brodder and my sisster.
Sandy fight for your girl. I was a SpEd teacher for 1 year. That is as long as I lasted. At the high school level I didn't feel like we were helping the students. We just had to make sure they passed the tests so we could make AYP and so we wouldn't lose funding.
I don't remember the GBS test being optional. I do remember getting a Q-tip up the rear though.
I don't know if GBS testing was optional in 2005. I do know that, in 2006, they passed a law to test for certain genetic disorders that could affect the fetus (I am not phrasing this correctly). I was tested for those when I was pregnant with Maya, and when I asked why, they said it became mandatory in 2006. This might only apply to California. In any case, my thought was if the genetic screening test became mandatory in 2006, perhaps so did the GBS test.
Does that make any sense? I feel like I'm not being very clear.
Not at all, TWG. I was very upset when I found out that I was a CF carrier and that I had Group B, because I feel my first OB should have asked me to do the tests, even though they were optional. He never even mentioned them.
re: the CF carrier and GBS, it was stuff we could have handled three years before M. came along so the pregnancy would not have been SO stressful.
I didn't think you were being fussy. I think you were more practical than the doctor was. Incidentally, he had a stroke and that's why I stopped seeing him. Not because of the lack of testing; frankly, I didn't know any better.
When they laid it out for me, here is literally, word for word, what they said. It is burned into my memory:
"if your child has cystic fibrosis, it could turn out a number of ways. The best case scenario is that you have a son who is sterile. The worst case scenario is that you'll have a child who dies around the age of 4."
On genetics, when I was pregnant with C, I tested positive for Downs. When I got pregnant with B, I refused all genetic testing because I could not go through that again. Fast forward to 2008, my brother was having back problems, really bad ones. He had x-rays done and something else. Come to find out my brother has cystic fibrosis (sp) He was never dx's at birth. The only outward sign is a dimple at the top of his butt. Inside the lower spine is fused in areas.
Clarification! I don't want anyone's feelings hurt, thinking that BD and I are talking behind Daisy backs. I am trying to order wines from her so that a donation can be made to our dear Chris. And ...I like wine :-D Not posting this for Kudos, I just don't want any hurt feelings.
Doing ok, Rhys, er tumbleweedgirl?! Kids just had their baths and I hopped on the computer while they decide on a bedtime story. L wants a princess story, P wants a Little Monster book from my childhood. I think we'll compromise and do Thomas.
TWG- GBS was negative for DD, so I am hoping so for Eeq.
Aint no one sticking a camera anywhere near my va-jay-jay and filming. As it was someone took photos with my camera with DD's birth, which no one needs to see. EVER. If Matt makes a video of me and Eeq after I give birth like he did with DD I will send it to AP and she can do with it what she will. No nakedness, just my puffy face, my red eyes, and me talking to DD.
As for the genetic testing- it isn't mandatory here and I haven't gotten it for either pregnancy.
Mulie- I am not going to be worried either way. I can't change it, and while it would royally SUCK to have a c-section, especially since the idea of being put under for it freaks me out(I can't have an epidural), I will just go with the flow. Don't roll your eyes at me, but if I start to worry about something I just pray about it. I am not a worrier to begin with, though. I'll pray she flips and if she doesn't I'll go with it.
Sorry about the pants. I won't snicker and say that mine fit.. :D That would be mean, and I'd have no right to be smug because I was a planet with DD and didn't fit into *anything by the 7th month.
Taiya, I saw from earlier that we are almost neighbors. And Kristin has "roots" nearby as well.
When I had babies very few tests were available. In a way, I'm glad. If it is something that can't be fixed in utero or at birth, I would not have wanted to know. I get the value of the scientific advances; just liked life when it was simpler.
BD are you still selling vino?! I need to see a list. Is it on your blog?
Half gallon of pink paint on the carpet? Ugh. Kiss the two year old good night and get them out of your sight for now. I would be at a loss as to how to clean it off the carpet. Area rug? Strategically placed piece of furniture over it?
Y'all have convinced me to have every test in the book when I do have a baby. I'll be 32 this year, so I'll be lucky to have one by the time I am 35, which makes me old as shit for pregnancy to begin with, so here's to prenatal testing! ::raises my beer::
Wait, I can't have alcohol when pregnant? Guess I'll have to settle for being an aunt. :D
Yep, Amy, still selling wine and made a promise here about the commission I receive from anyone here who orders. My commission is 15% (20% if it goes over $600 in volume), and I'm going to donate the whole 15% to Caring for Chris once I get the check (in May).
Send me an e-mail and I'll give you the website address. It's got my real name on it and I don't want to post it. My e-mail is belladonna1125@gmail.com.
Everyone is welcome! The only real rules here are no spamming shit and no posting personal addresses, phone numbers or other similar info. I don't need that kind of stress. That's it, although it could change if someone gets creative or something. If you don't like what is said here, you can: 1) Say so; 2) Hold it in and stew on it; 3. Address it privately to the person who said it; 4) Snark about it to your friends; 5) Leave. Don't bother me with it, I don't care and I won't get involved. I might, however, talk about you behind your back or post your email/message to me on here. *grins*
Them's the rules...all of them.
Have fun!

Go mu-mu or moo-moo (no idea how to spell that).
Well...I did flower pots for Easter so she just got 2.
uggghhh!
Cleaning service might work for the sis though.
And Kristin, that was confusing! The thank you was about the lunch boxes. The other stuff was for your sis.
got it EL :)

OT - My pink dog wood is blooming! Joy!!!
It sits right in the middle of our driveway and DH threatens to cut it down every fall. I win (eg)

Hi Lindsay!
EL - incredibly wise choice my friend. This cold is for the birds!
Kaytie, what's your field of medicine?
Ugh, department meeting. Enjoy the afternoon, I'll be back.
:::waving at Lindsay:::
Did you get the web net marks off your arse, yet?
I think I have a permanent beer can print on my chest :-(
JUST KIDDING!
Seriously, hope you are feeling better today from that nasty cold!
Kaytie, you should switch to vodka in a plastic cup like me. ::nods::
Lindsay- I am ok with your cold, RiM has some sort of leoprosy on her face!
Seriously RiM, the get an rx. I bet the stress of late has nor helped. Are the girls any better about the religious stuff?
BD - I am a nurse, not a doctor. YAY! (no offense to doctors). I work in an ICU that does most everything except heart stuff. Trauma/Neuro/Med/Surg
Kaytie - well I sure did. I just wish I hadn't chipped my last tooth on those damn corn nuts! That put a damper on my evening. Well that and running barefoot from the cops.
I'm back from grocery shopping. Exciting life I live. LOL
C is having a REALLY bad day at school. Two full emails worth of REALLY bad day.
Craptastic afternoon and I'm out of coffee!
RiM- Please pass me a Dixie cup of vodka!
oh Sandy - sorry to hear :(
Did anyone watch the JM webcast - I'm curious what she had to say. I thought it was yesterday and then missed it today.
RiM - I might just do so. I liked your passing out jello shots! Haven't had one of those. Hmmm...project for the day...since my soap stuff I ordered STILL is not here.
Sandy - boo. Sorry.
Aw, I'm sorry Sandy :(
Lindsay, Ha! Running barefoot in a tube top, corn nuts flying. Nice visual, I approve.
Sandy, so sorry to hear that. The e-mails are from someone at the school? :-(
Sandy - Darn! That is so not a good day :-(
::passes Sandy a dixie cup, but takes a little swig just to make sure it's good:::
EL - I know you're right about the Rx. I need to to do it!
oh...and I won't be on for most of the day tomorrow - I will miss chattin' and will go through withdrawals!
I will be attending a pre-construction meeting for 2 jobs up in Austin.
Margaret - I haven't seen it.
RiM and Margaret - how do you sign up for your give aways? I posted a comment here, but I think it got lost in all the posts. I really liked the pendants you gave RiM.
BD - I was going to e-mail you anyway, and so that way you can have my e-mail and we can talk that way.
Sandy - Hope she can settle down some. Those are hard, hard days on everyone :-(
Kaytie --leave a comment on my blog on that post. Same thing as here. just click at the bottom of the post where it says "X comments" and then it will pop open the comments and the box for you to leave yours. My pictures suck, but those pendants are *really cool!

No penis pendants, either. My blog can't be affiliated with that.
Sorry about my spelling. I'm sitting with the keyboard on my lap and fending off a chihuahua attack with one hand.
Y'all have to enter RiM's contest if you haven't. Margaret's stuff rocks.
I should have watched the webcast. Things are tight in this neck of the woods and I could really use a new suburban and a 6 bedroom house :p
I can't keep up to save my life today.
No worries RiM and Margaret - I have no desire for body parts.
See too much of that at work ;-x
rim
if you ever wanted, i'd let you do a giveaway of some artwork.
"I should have watched the webcast. Things are tight in this neck of the woods and I could really use a new suburban and a 6 bedroom house :p"
*gasp*CHOKE*gasp*
OMG Lindsay - that is priceless!
Sandy- sorry about C's bad day. :(
It is rainy and chilly here. We have 2 lacrosse games. As of now neither is canceled.
She's just.... strange.
Oops, there's my comment. Sorry for the double.
I'm going to cry. That.is.all!
K- why???
why, kristin??
Kristin, what's wrong?
Okay - going to be busy - the 10 binders that I sent for the proposal that is due tomorrow by 11:00 - they can't find it. It was supposed to be delivered by 10:30. craptastic. f'in a!
I'll be back - and probably drunk as hell!
Rhys -- I'd *love to!
Kristin - what's wrong?
Lindsay - I hear you. We need a sick kid or something.
Kristin... whatsa matter?
Ok, now I feel bad for saying she looked like hell. I really do try to stay away from making picky comments like that. I do have to say, she has 4 kids and I have 1 who's 15, so I have no idea how difficult it is to shower, etc. with little kids to feed and take care of. I just figure she has a nanny or "good friend" or whatever, some kind of help but maybe she didn't have help today.
OMG, Kristin! Crazy. Passing you a plastic cup of vodka right this second.
Kristin: Quick RiM - Jello Shot Therapy!!!
I am so sorry Kristin. all that work!
rim
just say when you want to do it. i'm game. i don't know how they work, though
kristin
crap. ):
bj -
LOVE it that you are in Grouch "Scram" T-Shirt!
I am in favorite "Kiss" Tee :-D
I'm in paint spattered jeans and a top that probably is too small, but it makes my boobs look good, so fuck it.
Kaytie J., I just e-mailed you back.
Margaret - went to your Etsy site. You do some really pretty pendants!
Yeah- my BF laughs if I ever wear this when he's here (he lives 5 hours away so not here all the time). Says I wear it to discourage "worship!" LOL
<-- wearing 'go away or i will replace you with a very small shell script'
it's useful
BD- if it makes your boobs look good, it's good! =)
BD - You do not know how much I wanted to say:
BD, YOU'VE GOT MAIL!
Just to annoy our favorite lawyer. :::cackles:::
Margaret - with the customizing of a pendant, how's that work? I was thinking of for my girls. Katie woudl freak over anything horse - if I find a picture of somethign I like online, you can do that? Or?
<---clueless.
Poor, poor SW. :)
It is sad. Poor SW just gets picked on for *no good reason. ::shakes head sadly but flings a spit ball at SW::::
BJ - don't feel bad. If someone is going to interview you make an effort. I did not see today's but the last two she looked like she did not brush her hair. It's disrespectful - it's not like someone just dropped by the house and shoved a mic in her face.
I know...she has to work like a slave to get ready to keep AP in her sanitizing ways. I feel for her.
I set up silent auctions all the time for other charities - it's easy and fun.
k- that. Sucks.
I'm wearing sweats and a white t with yellow pits. What? ::feigning innocence about how disgusting that is:: I'm sick :(
Margaret-that is a great idea!
Margaret you are so right.
My pet peeves when I am interviewing are:
Chewing Gum
Slouching
Saying "ummmm" every sentence
However, I was being a snark showing up at a meeting in my favorite "Kiss" Tee even if it was under a coat. I own it :-D
Even so.
I am wearing old grey sweat shorts with a hole on each ass cheek. I have no excuse.
Great idea Margaret! I'm in!
"Crafts for Chris" Awesome
"I am wearing old grey sweat shorts with a hole on each ass cheek"
Erin - those are some SERIOUS Daisy gear!
Freaking ass nice!
KaytieJ- I take stuff like that *very seriously ::nods::
I am off to lacrosse in the pouring down rain. @$*$# Bbl
F*CK YEAH!!!! I am so fitting in here today. I feel like crap still and of course when I want a nap I cant fall asleep LOL
Yet here I sit in the boxers and tank top that I wore to bed last night with my sweats on over the boxers.
We are definitely showing our white trash side today :)
Sandy - Groan. I am SO damned sorry. ((()))
Erin - Throw a ponchpo on over those cheeks and call it good ;-D
Right now I just want to rip the teacher's eyeballs out with a sharpened chopstick!!!
:::waving at Shannon and smiling hugely:::
Sandy I think it is time to talk to these teacher's mothers.....isnt that what you do if another child is bullying your child at school? I am sorry but, I assume that since you said something about autism with C that she is in that spectrum, isnt the biggest hurtle with autism the social behavior? I recognize that there are probably things with C that make keeping classroom "norms" difficult but freaking calling her out as an unspoken example will only make her behavior worse because it will make her frustrated because she will feel bad and such.
::::waving back at Kay posing ANTM style smizing:::::::
I bet you do. I can see the teacher e-mailing you privately, but not to blast it out like that to all, unless others in the classroom were doing it, too?
waving back at Kay posing ANTM style smizing
Umm...is this a good thing? I don't know what posing ANTM style is. I'm a dweeb.
LOL I watch a lot of America's Next Top Model so actually I am the dweeb :)
Got it now! ROFLOL! I like that show too, but don't watch it too often
BD - YOU'VE GOT MAIL :-D
That email gets sent to the parents as well as the kids. ::sharpening chopsticks::
Oh and upon more research with the thyroid thing....yeah one more thing to increase my risk factor with heart attack and/or stroke
Thanks Chris you are making me a little too hyper aware of stroke risks....big part of that is because you are the same age as me!!!
Clarification--that email gets sent to all parents and all the kids!
I got two separate ones from the SERT late this morning and again in the afternoon. I freaking hate this school.
Sandy - Did you have your second eval done yet? With the flurry of comments, if you have, I missed it.
KaytieJ - I have the behavior mod part on the 28th of the month.
That's BS, Sandy, calling her out like that. Not right. I'm so sorry. =(
Sandy - I was hoping it was tomorrow and get this addressed pronto. ((()))
BD - pinky swear - absolutely.
Sandy, grrr on that teacher.....
Though my blood pressure is always AWESOME so I dont have that worry at this point :)
This is the second time that she has done this. Only this time she stupidly put it in writing.
I really love that even in the middle of his rehabilitation, Chris is still concerned about bringing awareness to this.
sandy
it sounds like the teacher and the district need some sensitivity training
failing that, it sounds like it's time to talk with a lawyer. it's not right. it's discriminating against your little C, and it's not helping.
it's not legal either.
My dad had his first stroke when he was 50. Series of mini-strokes in between, triple bypass from hell last summer and diabetes.
I'm 42, really high blood pressure, high cholesterol and borderline diabetic.
Fun times!
BJ I always looked at strokes and heart attacks as being something that only happen to old people but in reality we are actually just as at risk being in our late 30's.
taiya
my personal soapbox crusade
get tested for GBS. now.
it's never too soon.
please.
shannon
right. i know a teacher friend. they have a spectrum boy this year. she explains 'this is how t handles things' a lot
so the kids know, hand flapping, abruptness, etc, are just him. and that it's NOT ok to belittle the fella
*fumes*
special needs children matter a lot to me
Yeah, my blood pressure's always okay, too but *cannot* get my cholesterol and especially triglycerides down for crap.
Taiya! 12 pounds - WOW! I love the word Preggoability :-D
Sandy, Check out this blog: http://www.mypickletalksautism.com/
This mom is WONDERFUL and a great writer. I think you may benefit from some of her writings.
Taiya, Are they talking c-section yet?
TWG- I definitely got tested! I just won't know if it is positive or negative before next week!
I am pretty happy with 12 pounds! We don't need to discuss what I gained with DD. Needless to say, it was a LOT. I lost all of it by my 6 week appointment, but then when DD stopped breastfeeding at 8 months I gained a lot back, *immediately I am hoping to lose a lot after breastfeeding with Eeq and being conscious of it and keep it off. We'll see if I stick to it, though!
Mulie- nope. 97% chance she will drop by labor. I still have 5 weeks. I asked. No worries.
Did I break it?
I think I can breathe! Now I am going home - and have to clean b/c my mom is coming over tomorrow to watch LM while I am in Austin. Good times!
and so not caught up :(
You did Taiya....but then again I am in process of getting my ass off the bed to go get my husband from work LOL
I was just informed that tonight we are having a secret spy show. I love my daughter's imagination!
Is someone filming Eeq's birth - perhaps AP can post the next day - lol
Ohh, sounds like fun, Margaret. I miss those days. Mine had an imaginary friend for years and could come up with some doozies about that friend.
I've had 2 flip around 37/38 weeks, so there is still time, Taiya. My baby has been so active recently. I hope she has flipped, so I don't have to stress over it!
taiya
thank goodness. i am so glad you're getting tested. my biggest nightmare is that i will hear of someone i know having a group B baby.
Rhys:
I actually have Group B Strep with Maya; either I didn't have it with Alanna, or my OB never checked, and I really can't remember. I DO remember having it with Maya because everything went so wrong with that pregnancy that when found out I had GBS, I nearly collapsed.
Maya, however, was fine, and it meant I was on antibiotics until I delivered. It also means that if we have more, I go back on the ABs.
bd
yea. i should have clarified. a gb infected baby who collapses. that scares me still.
gbs is nothing to mess with. i am so so so lucky.

So today we are going over the WS and there is a submarine -
Me: What's this
LM: uh submarine - I rode on uh submarine.
Me: You did
LM: i rode uh submarine wit my brodder and my sisster.
Me: You did.
LM: uh-huh
Yup - good times!
bd
it's optional? i guess you're right. i know they asked if i wanted to be tested. i didn't have time to get tested though, lia was born instead.
RiM - LOVE IT! and I hope he does :)
Sandy - I am so mad! That is so very, very wrong!
Are the brudder and sister still on the farm?
Sandy fight for your girl.
I was a SpEd teacher for 1 year. That is as long as I lasted. At the high school level I didn't feel like we were helping the students. We just had to make sure they passed the tests so we could make AYP and so we wouldn't lose funding.
I don't remember the GBS test being optional. I do remember getting a Q-tip up the rear though.
SW - Here let me help -

I just "liked" a FB page that must of been created by someone here. It is titled: Intelligent, classy, well-educated women who say "F*ck" a lot
TWG (I'm trying to get used to that :)):
I don't know if GBS testing was optional in 2005. I do know that, in 2006, they passed a law to test for certain genetic disorders that could affect the fetus (I am not phrasing this correctly). I was tested for those when I was pregnant with Maya, and when I asked why, they said it became mandatory in 2006. This might only apply to California. In any case, my thought was if the genetic screening test became mandatory in 2006, perhaps so did the GBS test.
Does that make any sense? I feel like I'm not being very clear.
::when I asked why I had not been tested during my pregnancy with Alanna::
Sorry. Should have clarified that.
bd
it makes sense.
gbs just gives me nightmares, that's my own personal issue. sorry to get so fussy
Yes, his "brudder has two cat on da farm" - he told me this this morning on the way to school.
I do not remember being tested for GBS. AP, what about you?
Jill, what the fuck?
Rhys, do we have to call you TWG? ::whines:: I like "Rhys" a lot.
kristin
lm has a lively inner life! good for you and him (:
sw
you may (and anyone) call me what you like as long as it's nice. (:
rhys, twg, whatever. i don't mind. swear.
Not at all, TWG. I was very upset when I found out that I was a CF carrier and that I had Group B, because I feel my first OB should have asked me to do the tests, even though they were optional. He never even mentioned them.
Kristin - Your LM is a doll! And I love hearing your stories about him. Hope your night goes better than your day!
bd
cf is a scary scary thing. /:
Cut myself off...
re: the CF carrier and GBS, it was stuff we could have handled three years before M. came along so the pregnancy would not have been SO stressful.
Nice, huh?
bd
ok. someone got on my case for being 'militant' about GBS.
i pointed to liajoy.
Nope, TWG. You'll never get that from me.
ouch, bd
ouch.
attention blogger...I would like you to work for me tonight.
Hello friends, old and new! Hope everyone is well tonight. I need to catch up. alot alot! ;)
And ...I like wine :-D
Not posting this for Kudos, I just don't want any hurt feelings.
Oh - BD: You've got mail
Rhys! You're here!!! And BD! And Jill! And Kristin!
hey amy
how're you doing?
(and HELLO to everyone else I haven't mentioned...I haven't scrolled up enough yet!)
Amy! How are you doing?
Hi Amy!
Doing ok, Rhys, er tumbleweedgirl?! Kids just had their baths and I hopped on the computer while they decide on a bedtime story. L wants a princess story, P wants a Little Monster book from my childhood. I think we'll compromise and do Thomas.
Jill I'm ok...glad that this semester is almost over. How's school for you?
Hi KaytieJ...how's it going?
Oh, I'm sorry about that.
Yes, Kaytie just wants me for my wine. ;)
Hey Amy!
KaytieJ- you can e-mail about me behind my back. I wouldn't even know the difference. :D
I am interrupting this regular scheduled blog to beg for solutions to half a gallon of pink paint spilled on carpet by a 2 year old!
BD - Ooops, it did come off that way - sorry. And that would be wrong! Love your sense of humor.
Eek, Mulie! I am admittedly no help, but EEK!
Mulie - Jello Shots :::nodding sagely:::
Oh dear...that is going to be a mess. Sorry.
Mulie, New carpet unless an area rug works. Sorry.
Mulie- Vodka
Not for the carpet, for you.
Wait, you're preggers. Shit.
Wait, Mulie...aren't you VERY pregnant? Why on earth are you painting?
Amy I have 22 days left, but I'm not counting or anything.
Hey girls, just reading through the day.
Mulie - NO
I like KJ's full disclosure :)
I would be counting the hours!
Our commencement ceremony is on Mother's Day...yeah, a genius planned that one. Grades have to be submitted for transcripts the next day.
I'm watching a program about a cult and some kids that got out but now they can't see their parents - terrible. They think the leader is the messiah.
I see Amy popped on! Hi Amy!
I ate dinner with the little guy!
and yes, he does have quite an imagination.
RF- Yep. Pretty close. :) Considering how much I drive pretty far distances to visit and do stuff, I would consider you a neighbor.
Amy- Thomas is the compromise between princesses and little monsters? Have to remember that.

Yes, you said this...
