Interesting video....

I am having a hard time keeping my eyes open... I will come back tomorrow at some point to chat a while and hopefully catch up!

Hope everyone has a good night and a good Saturday!!!

I'm checking out too. Damn the man for getting his sleep and I'm sacrificing my sleep waiting on him.

Sigh, I posted and then disappeared last night.

Morning ladies!

PJ said...

Morning Jill & Kristin.

PJ said...

Kristin - does LM have swimming lessons this morning?

Anonymous said...

Hi all!

I loved the theological/philosophical discussion last night!

Anonymous said...

Morning all.

PJ said...

Hi Corinne! We are here at the same time.

Morning Sandy.

PJ said...

Sandy - how's your C this morning?

Anonymous said...

She's still sleeping but she has been doing alot better. I think we've had a maturity growth somewhere.

Anonymous said...

And thank you for asking!

Anonymous said...

Hi Sandy! How are you?

CK- Yay for being on at the same time!

Mck's 'Don't turn away' post is very obnoxious. These kids look healthy and happy.

Would someone please tell that woman that because someone doesn't have two Iphones doesn't mean they are miserable?

Anonymous said...

I'm good Corinne and you?

I just wish my little guy would sleep a little later. 6:30 each and every morning.

Anonymous said...

Sandy- I'm great. We have a beautiful day here and that's enough to make me happy =)

6.30 each morning? Yikes.

Anonymous said...

No matter how tired he is, it's 6:30am. At least I went to be early last night, so it's not so bad this morning.

PJ said...

Yo Gabba Gabba is (are?) in town. OMG.

Anonymous said...

We're watching Caillou on On-Demand. I don't know which is worse.

Anonymous said...

I know Caillou but have no idea what Yo Gabba Gabba even looks like (not that I wanna know) ;)

You're all gonna be totally jealous of me but I woke up at 10 am this morning (and went to bed at 11 pm last night) :D

I'm reading Mck's twitter feed. Yeah. Sounds like her trip in Kenya is *so hard emotionally. LOL.

PJ said...

Sandy,
I'm glad C is more settled lately.

PJ said...

Corinne,
I am just so appalled by JM's behavior. The hole she digs for herself gets deeper and deeper by the minute.

Anonymous said...

OT but I remember FT talking about the out of control students. In the town next to me, a 6th grade girl set a fire to a boy's hair using perfume and a lighter on the school bus. This just happened a day or so ago. It just makes me sad because I'm being frowned upon by C's teacher and support staff for being so involved in her education, etc. Things that make you go hmm, I guess.

Anonymous said...

I'm on the JM 12-Step program. I can't read her drivel. Karma is a bitch, ya know.

PJ said...

Very sad story in Twin Cities news world. A 48 year old TV news reporter died in her sleep Thursday evening. Darcy Pohland. She was an example of courage, perseverance, grace, dignity.

Here's a link - very special woman.

http://wcco.com/

Go to the video link "A Glimpse at Darcy's Interesting Life"

Anonymous said...

Oops, the girl who set the fire was in 8th grade, the boy was in 6th.

PJ said...

She keeps alienating a whole new bunch of people with every word she writes. Or writes for RV.

PJ said...

JM that is - not Darcy.

Anonymous said...

CK- It will all come back to bite her at some point...
Seriously, she tweets that she's *supposedly broken (although all I hear is wah wah wah, poor me, wah wah wah) and then, two hours later she talks about a road trip and visiting a Masai tribe. Is this woman for real?

Sandy - Wow. I wonder where our society is going sometimes...

PJ said...

Sandy - that's scary stuff.

Anonymous said...

CK- Heartbreaking story :( I'll watch the video later because I read 'Notes left behind this morning' and I've cried enough for today ;) )

PJ said...

AP - that video is crazy, crazy...

Anonymous said...

I'm out for a while. Going to make breakfast for everyone which is out of character for me. I see nothing wrong with cold cereal, LOL.

PJ said...

See you later, Sandy.

PJ said...

Link to the videos of Darcy.

Anonymous said...

See you later Sandy!

Anonymous said...

CK- Well, I ended up watching the video after all. Such a sad, yet inspiring story.

Is WCCO the only Minnesota channel that hasn't broadcasted any JM related news?

PJ said...

Yes, WCCO is all I have left. Don't like Don Shelby, the "senior" anchor, but otherwise it's okay. He's quite pompous.

PJ said...

Corinne,
Is your "Corinne and Valerie Without Parents" party over?

Muliebrity said...

good morning, sisters!

Anonymous said...

CK- Alas, yes, it is over :( LOL

They came back Thursday night. They had fun and said Seville is a beautiful city.

We have another 'Corinne and Valérie without parents party' in two weeks, except this time it's my sis and I going on a trip. We're going to Dublin to see my cousin and I'm also going to visit M, as I had promised, even though we're no longer together.

Oh yes, while my parents were away, my sis almost burnt down our apartment. No kidding.

Anonymous said...

Hi Mulie!

PJ said...

Do tell!

PJ said...

Morning Mulie!

kristin said...

duh, I thought I subscribed to comments and didn't - thought it was awfully quiet. I've been straightening up and playing.

We leave for swim lessons in about 20 minutes!

How is everyone?

Anonymous said...

CK- Well, she put Olive oil in a pan and started heating it. I was on the phone, so I wasn't paying attention.
Then, all of a sudden she says 'huh, there's smoke coming out of the pan (she had placed a lid on it).' I hung up the phone and told her to get away from that pan. I lifted the lid and yup, there were flames coming out.
Thank God my dad once took me to this fireman demonstration where they said that to put out oil that is on fire, you should never ever throw water on it. I moistened a towel and put it on the pan, then put the pan outside.

Now, I understand why people who die in fires often die before the fire itself kills them. Boy, was the smoke irritating. We coughed like crazy for ten minutes.

PJ said...

Big sister to the rescue. WTG!

Did you tell your parents? Would they freak out or just be glad you knew what to do and were okay?

kristin said...

Corinne - way to save the day!

Sorry ladies, I want to comment on other stuff but getting ready to walk out the door, then lunch, and then park and fishing! I'm excited.

Hope everyone has a fabulous day!

I might check in when we come home for fishing poles and a change of clothes...guess I should charge the battery for the camera!

Anonymous said...

Kristin- Have a nice day! It sounds like fun :)

CK- We told them and we were laughing while telling the story. Bad, I know but I guess since we're alright, it's just funny. They kind of freaked out but were relieved nothing major happened ;-)
My sister will not go anywhere near the kitchen anymore. It really scared her.

Anonymous said...

I want to go on a world tour.

Random, I know.

PJ said...

I should probably go finish up a powerpoint thing I'm doing for church. It's going along with a skit about a couch potato (me) and a woman who is always running around and never sitting or being still to think about important stuff. Eyore and Tigger.

This place gets a non specific shout out - "I'm just chatting with some internet friends".

Anonymous said...

CK- Lol. Eeyore and Tigger as in Winnie the Pooh? :-D

PJ said...

Corinne - yes, and I've been spelling it wrong all over the internets.

::hides head in spelling shame::

Anonymous said...

My people have been fed. I guess there is some law that says you must feed your children, lol. Eggs, sausage and toast. My mom used to cook us a big breakfast every Sunday. I think I might start doing the same. It was nice.

Muliebrity said...

::Shameless mom brag alert::

Hunter, the 23 month old, just undressed on his own and went and peed on the potty!

He has been doing this on his own for a few weeks, but has never had control and would sit (or stand) there for 5 mins, walk away and pee on the floor. He finally is getting a clue that he controls when the pee comes out.

Anonymous said...

Mulie, that's awesome!

Muliebrity said...

:::shameless mom brag alert:::

Hunter, the 23 mth old, just undressed on his own and peed on the toilet unprompted foe the first time!

He has never peed on the toilet before. He usually undresses and sits (or stands) at the toilet for 5 minutes, gets down, and then pees all over the floor. He is finally getting a clue that he controls it. I have been setting him on the toilet for months every day or so, but just to get him used to it. He decided on his own that he wants to attempt to use it. Plus he follows his brother in there 20 times a day.

Anonymous said...

Mulie- Yay for Hunter!

CK- Don't hide your head in 'spelling shame' (although AP would be glad to read that shame is making a come back!)

Sandy - Yes, children must be fed ;-)

OT - Has anyone ever read 'The dead don't dance' by Charles Martin?

Muliebrity said...

This stupid thing acted like it didn't take my comment the first time, so please excuse the double posting.

I'm excited, but not THAT excited.

Angie said...

Happy Saturday, ladies! I was a slug and stayed in bed until after 10:00 AM. (like CK!) Am planning a lazy day.

Karen, you checked in and forgot to tell us the status of your job! Report in already!

Mulie, congrats on your big boy's peeing success.

Sandy, having someone cook you breakfast is a real treat. I'm envious of your family.

Corinne, Hi! And I'm glad your sister didn't burn the house down!

Kristin, have fun fishing!

Hi again, Jill!

Anonymous said...

SW, it did give me that feel good moment and then I realized I had to wash dishes, lol. It was really nice.

Anonymous said...

Good morning, all!

I'm being a slug this morning....and it feels sooooo good :) Maybe TMI, but I love not wearing a bra if I don't have to!

Angie said...

<--so not wearing a bra, but not leaving the house either

Morning Bella!

Angie said...

How was your sushi last night, Bella?

Anonymous said...

It was very good, SW. Very fresh. It's a little place in a strip mall, but they churn out some tasty stuff.

Anonymous said...

Morning Bella.

Anonymous said...

Hi Sandy :) Are you enjoying the heat wave we're having?

Anonymous said...

I've lowered the heat and opened some windows upstairs to air out the winter funk! Loving it.

Anonymous said...

Hi Bella and SW!

Another TMI fact about myself but I *love wearing bras. I would wear one while sleeping if it weren't bad for my breasts.

Anonymous said...

Over the past few days I saw people in shorts and flip flops, lol.

Angie said...

You've told us about your large bra collection, Corinne! Is it bad for your breasts to sleep in a bra? I've always thought it would keep them firmer longer if those puppies were never left free and swinging.

Anonymous said...

Sandy- flip flops and shorts in March? Wherever it is that you live, I'm comin'!

SW- While wearing a bra, the lymphatic drainage in your breasts is diminished. If you wear a bra 24/7, your risk of breast cancer increases because of that.

Angie said...

Corinne, that's very interesting.

Anonymous said...

SW- I love how you use 'interesting'.
Sometimes, I wonder why I memorize these random facts! LOL

I have to log off for now. Have a good day =)

kristin said...

Corinne - you are insane! I hate wearing bras and mine comes off as soon as I walk in the door.

Sandy - was it your little one that wakes up at 6:30 every morning - yup, that's mine too. 6:00 today, seriously, it's saturday? uggggggghhhh...I'm tired.

Sandy - glad to hear about the maturity growth, hopefully a little reprieve for you.

Angie said...

Uh oh. I must be overusing "interesting." I shall consult a thesaurus and come up with some new words!

kristin said...

Mulie (I think...going off of memory from this morning)- on the whole flea thing, if you treat the fleas now, you will have to treat again later b/c you may kill the live fleas but there will be eggs hatching after...just a thought

kristin said...

Bella - sorry about the dog dilemma/dilemna. My sister has the same issue with her dog - gets into everything. She will have a dish of something pushed as far back on the counter as possible and he will find it. He likes to get into their trash too. Should be interesting when she has a kiddo.

Is yours a boxer?

kristin said...

Anyone want to take a little guy for an evening so I could lay in bed until 10:00, even 8:30 would be nice :)

Anonymous said...

Corinne, I'm in Chicago. People hear 40 degrees and get goofy.

Kristin, my son is up at 6:30am like clockwork. It's annoying. I'd love to see in inside of my eyelids until like 8:00 on the weekend.

kristin said...

I hear ya Sandy!

Morning Ladies!
Gorgeous day here in the PNW. Horses, chickens, dogs, cats, beeves fed...oh and dh, too. He got in at 0400. Scared the beejebs out of me as I had passed out on the couch in front of a nice fire-LOL!
AP: I did not forget-just got delightfully distracted with all the Daisy conversation :-D Here is a link to a marshmallow recipe (this one is for large and minis). http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/homemade-marshmallows-recipe/index.html

twirldawg said...

Apparently I'm drive by posting.

Posted this morning and then we to finally get a hair cut and run errands.

Hi everyone.

Angie said...

Are you happy with the haircut, Jill? Did you get much cut?

Kay, what are "beeves"? You have beavers? And you feed them? Interesting. (hat tip, Corinne.)

Angie said...

I want someone to go to the grocery store for me, and do my shopping. I want to cook something, but can't bring myself to go to the store.

twirldawg said...

SW yes, I like the hair cut. My hair is/was long and thick. It's still longish, but I had her thin it out.

I don't mind the store, but you are too far away for me to do your shopping for you.

Angie said...

You don't mind the store even on a Saturday, Jill? If I don't go at 8:00 AM on Saturday, I usually can't make myself go. Saturday shopping sucks. But, if I can make myself go, there may be some girl scouts with cookies there! I've been craving some GS cookies.

KaytieJ said...

SW-Beeves as in plural for Beef. I was being sloppy. We have 2 black angus steers-local slang is "beeves"
When you find someone to shop for you, have them stop by here next. I hate shopping-makes me a grumpy mess just the thought of it.

KaytieJ said...

Oh rats! Girl Scout cookies....BRB!

KaytieJ said...

Phew! TY for the reminder of Girl Scout cookies, SW. Forgot I had some in the car, which is out in the sunshine. Thought they would be a pile of goo, but they are fine. Passing you some thin mints...

PJ said...

Crumbling up a Samoa and trying to push it into the USB port to send to SW.

Do you have grocery store shopping/delivery services there? That's a solution. Except I don't know that they'd stop at the girl scout cookie table for you.

PJ said...

SW, you would be so very proud of me. I stayed away from here long enough to get one project done.

Angie said...

Thanks for the cookies, ladies. I am proud of you, CK. What project did you get done? Your powerpoint presentation? I appreciate the oblique reference in that, but I'd really be impressed if you could work a daisy into it!

PJ said...

I'll be sure an add Daisy to the script.

PPT for church comic sketch - including a praying hands tattoo, human hamstermobile, an exercise couch, and a To Do list with the only word on it "Nothing" crossed out.

PJ said...

PJ said...

an add Daisy = add a Daisy

Angie said...

Cool, CK. We will be honored to make an appearance at your church.

PJ said...

SW - I'm glad you will be honored. It's not really a church. I hate calling it that. Mostly a place where people who like asking questions and wrestling with stuff get together, sing or listen to great music, talk about tough questions, and leave without black and white answers.

For "fellowship", you know.

Angie said...

"For "fellowship", you know." LOL nice!

PJ said...

I never told anybody about this, but months ago some crazy Magnum PI posted (on BF) Shirley Goodness' obituary, two posts on OHIH dedicated to her, and a link to our church website where info on her death was given.

The oddest thing happened -

Somebody came to my church and filled out a comment card with my name on it, and signed me up for EVERY SINGLE VOLUNTEER JOB listed on the card.

Angie said...

That's bizarre, CK. Someone went to a lot of trouble to bug you a little bit.

PJ said...

A crazy MckSheeple, maybe?

The day before that Sunday, I got a phone call asking if an "XXX Anderson" (where XXX is my first name, and Anderson is NOT my last name).

They said they were with Best Buy and were calling about a warranty or something.

Caught me off guard - I said they had the first name right but not the last name. Person hemmed and hawed, and said thank you and hung up. Totally bogus.

PJ said...

I believe the two incidents were related - I actually thought it was quite funny. I'm just a little old middle aged woman with a menopot around my tummy. To think I'd be a threat to anybody.

I suspect it was a friend of bible throwing Michelle or her buddy Sandy. (not Sandy here).

Harmless.

Angie said...

Oh, I agree it was harmless. But it was a lot of trouble to go to for little payoff. They got no reaction at all. Unless they've been following you all this time, and finally get to hear about this today. So I'm torn between thinking whoever did it is incredibly lame, or admiring their willingness to invest a lot of effort for practically no return.

Okay, I'm going with lame.

Anonymous said...

CK, I can throw a bible if you want! I used to play softball. ROFL!

PJ said...

Sandy,
Let me get out my mitt to catch it.

Anonymous said...

LOL. That's some freaky stuff CK.

PJ said...

Husband and I, and church staff got a giggle over it. SW is right, somebody went to a lot of effort for little or no return.

Anonymous said...

A beautiful day here! Cracked the windows and got some fresh air in the house, ran some errands, and now I am being a slug again.

How is everyone's Saturday?

Anonymous said...

CK, I was just reading back...how bizarre. That's a determined, ineffective troll with a ton of time on their hands!

KaytieJ said...

Spring Fever has hit BAD...all of a sudden I want to dress like Lady Gaga and hit the clubs like in her "Just Dance" song/video :-D DH worship?! HA! It is the other way around
Oopsie daisy...I said that?

kristin said...

Hey ladies!

Today was a great day! Beautiful - warm enough out that I had to bring LM in to put him in shorts.

Fishing was a bust - he has the attention span of a gnat but we spent the day at the park, then stopped by my mom's and got KFC and brought it home.

CK - odd stuff right there.

Sandy - softball? I love softball too, I play on a league, we are on hiatus right now :)

kristin said...

Anyone seen AP today?

Lisa said...

Hey, I just poked my head in. Long-ass day here and I'm tired and incredibly grouchy. Hope everyone is well.

I'll try to be back later but it looks like we don't have any new post worries today. Quiet, quiet.

Thanks for the marshmallow recipe, Kaytie. I really need to work on making a link...I keep forgetting.

kristin said...

Hey AP! What's up? Sorry you are grouchy! :(

Lisa said...

It's alright, Kristin. I think I just need a nap and maybe a long, hot shower. I'll fill y'all in later. No worries, everyone is well.

Sorry fishing was a bust.

kristin said...

Wasn't really a bust, he had a good time and he made friends with a "grandpa" type and a guy in a wheelchair while "fishing" - it would've been really awesome if we had caught a fish.

Angie said...

Here's a full and complete list of everything productive I've done today:

1) washed my sheets and got them back on the bed.
2) scooped the litter boxes.
3) washed some towels and put them in the dryer.

The End.

kristin said...

Yeah SW!

I fed my little one and wiped down the counter tops! :)

Other than that I just played!

Muliebrity said...

2 days of play in a row here, but I got more done "playing" than I would on a "normal" day. Hit 3 stores today, lunch at Denny's, and the boys road their power wheels around while I hauled stuff from the garage to the curb for the scavengers to pick through. Yesterday the van got cleaned out for the first time in....ever?....I could get used to this spring-like weather!

kristin said...

Way to be Mulie! I thought about tackling the garage today but I went to the park instead!

We also had lunch at Denny's!

Sounds like a good day!

Muliebrity said...

Does your Denny's allow smoking, Kristin? Ours has a smoking section, but I'm not sure why they both because the whole place reaks of smoke! I will not be going back there for a while!

Don't be too impressed by my garage effort. My "effort" involved dragging a dresses and plant stand to the curb and placing a free sign on it. My garage is stuff full of crap! I am on a missing to get rid of half our stuff this year. I am off to a slow start.

kristin said...

Mulie - yes it does, but that doesn't phase me b/c where I work, they smoke indoors so I don't even notice it.

My 1 car garage - aquarium, recycle stuff, christmas stuff, and all my baby stuff that my mom said I could NOT get rid of. Now I have to see if my sister is going to use it, and then figure out what the hell to do with it.

Angie said...

Kristin, the point of the list was to show how UNproductive I've been! I have a fourth thing to add now:

4) had my weekly one hour Mom phone conversation

Kristin, I'm really surprised that people can smoke indoors where you work. That's unusual these days.

kristin said...

I am exhausted and in deperate need of a shower. It is only 8:00. I think I am going to shower and then eat this chocolate dessert.

Muliebrity said...

AP (where ever you are!) - I just had to share the links you put up Friday of that crazy pastor getting beat of by the border patrol. Hope you don't mind.

kristin said...

Is everyone going to keep "clicking" to see what JM has to say -

It's 5:30 am in Kenya. Been awake for a while, not able to sleep. Is it jet lag or something else? I'm off to blog now about "my" naysayers.

JM - twitter/FB - 8 minutes ago

kristin said...

Well ladies, it's been a long day! I'm going to hit the hay!

Night all!

AP - I hope you get some rest and that tomorrow is not so long and you are less grumpy!

Have a good Saturday evening all!

Muliebrity said...

I can't believe she has time or care to worry about her naysayers.

Muliebrity said...

A lot of the naysayers are just naysaying about the days she's been away from her kids, right? While I think it's a big deal to be away from your kids, much of her being away was "work" related and this trip is to promote awareness for Compassion International. Being away from her kids for these reasons is cool with me.

Lisa said...

Hey, all. Mulie, of course it's fine you shared those links. :-) As for JM, I think it's fine for one of them to be gone from the kids but not both. It's not even remotely okay in my book, not for an unnecessary trip and with children that young. That aside, I am genuinely disgusted that she went to Africa while pregnant when both the CDC and WHO, among others, say it's a bad idea. That shows zero regard for any of her children, unborn or not.

Lisa said...

So, today...ugh. Long story short, Jake's laptop was stolen from a friend's house and we've spent part of the day with cops and all. Fun times. He was careless, yes, but not careless enough to justify this. It should have been safe overnight in a friend's (parental) home. I feel so bad for him, he lost so much. And, now we're sharing my computer...something I HATE. At the same time, I'm not going to reward him with a new one for this so, yeah. Not happy.

I'm tired. My ex-BIL, Jake's uncle, drunk dialed us both at 3am. First time either of us have heard from in in over 8 years and he's going on about what a piss-poor son Jake is. Whatever.

Anyway, that's just a part of it all but it's been a long and shitty day.

Hope everyone is doing okay...so quiet still around here.

Karen said...

Hey all - another night of not catching up - and posting after eveyrone is already in bed!

SW sorry I didn't update about the job. I got an email yesterday from the woman I interviewed with - she said that the loss prevention manager was out of town all week, and she has all my paperwork back and everything looks great but she needs him to sign off on it before she can officially hire me... So still no actual "job offer"

However, I am thinking about looking for something different! The pay for this job sucks - it would be $200 less than unemployment, and its amost $10 an hour less than I was making in NY and there are no benefits because its considered "temporary" and would be paid through the temp agency until May - and then if I get hired "permanent" I would have a 90 day waiting period.

All of a sudden I found about 4 or 5 jobs that sounded better, and paid better, and I sent my resume out to a bunch of them on Friday...

So... I'm in limbo right now - not sure what I'm going to do!!

About JM, the whole post of hers about how she isn't going to respond to her haters... I cannot beleive she did that - from Kenya - when she is supposeded to be sooo touched by what she is seeing there. She really literally makes me sick - way to focus on herself!! And I agree with you AP about leaving her kids once again for this trip - that both of them went, there is no need for both of them to be there... and the harm that she could be causing that unborn child is just unnecessary. She was saying that they had to go to another home to see because of flooding and they had to go "off-roading" to get there - all that bumping around on non roads cannot be good for her pregnancy - and what if she had some issues with it and had to be hospitalized - what type of care would be available for her? She's just gone completely off her rocker and is more than a few fries short of a happy meal in my opinion!!!

Karen said...

Awww that sucks about Jake's laptop - and I'm sure he had stuff on there that aren't replaceable - not to mention the laptop itself. I was just talking to Angela tonight about getting an external hard drive for her laptop - which is what I'm using cause she doesn't have internet right now... between the two of us, we have about 13,262 personal files on this laptop - actually I think that is all photos - not to mention all the other stuff that we have on here, and no back up system - if this were to crash, or anything happen to it, it would be horrible!! I don't know much about external hard drive's but think I need to find out!!!

Lisa said...

Karen, the externals are great...easy to use. Look around online. Ours came from, I think, newegg.com. It's been awhile but newegg and tigerdirect have better prices than in stores, especially with coupons. He lost a ton of his music with this and all of his pictures...his own fault since I was harping on him just the other day to be sure to back things up. At the same time, I admit that while I harped on him, I've not backed my own stuff up in close to a year so I can't point fingers there too hard. :-/

I really hope things start falling into place for you quickly about jobs. It's got to be getting more than a little scary now. Also, how was Angela's big date the other night?

Nilia said...

Sorry I fell asleep on you guys last night! I checked in later but was too tired to participate so just logged off and went back to sleep.

Sorry about Jake's laptop, AP, sometimes we think people are one way and they're not. The person who stole the laptop is (I presume) from a limited number of possibilities, i.e. someone Jake knows?

I saw Shortround today, I could not get enough of him. I held him for a couple of hours, even fed, burped and changed him. It's amazing how a person can forget absolutely everything in a few years! He looks so different already in a week, so alert, I could just eat him up. Still no name though, my parents are being razzed a little by family and friends and I'm kind of not impressed but not my decision to make I guess.

Karen said...

She had a good time, she said he was "nice" and treated her well, paid for everything (that didn't happen with the last 2 guys she was seeing) and they had a good time, but she said there wasn't anything there but friendship! But... she said she can always use a friend, and she said who knows what can come out of a friendship - its a good place to start - he is a good guy - has a good job, his own house, drives a nice car, and has respect for women... so she said she is sure that they will hang out again some time. We went out with her tonight - her and Tay both, we went shopping, the Borders near us is going out of busines and everything is 40 - 50% off - and then she took us for dinner at Rockne's - and that was the first time she was able to do that - ever! She was so proud of herself! Told her that we'd eat off the dollar menu at Wendy's if thats what she could afford, but she had a really good day at work today and made almost $100 in tips, so she was feeling good about her finances and she wanted to go out to eat - and treat US for once! It was really nice, we all 3 (4 including Tay) had a really good time!

Yes its getting more than a little scarey! I could go ahead and take this job - I have a feeling they will offer it Mon or Tues - but I'm having such second thoughts about it. Patti has an interview on Monday for something that sounds really good for her... I would love to make more than what this job is offering, and I really should try to find something with benefits.... But not having a job at all would be worse - no income would suck! So I have to really think about this one!

I will have Patti look into the two sites you said for a external - she is much more savvy about computers than I am - and knows more what we need an how much space, etc.

Hey FT! Holding and caring for a newborn is the best isn't it? They grow so fast and they are just so "new" and smell good, feel so soft, I could eat them up too! All my grands are getting so big, no more infants any more - but I love this age too! Tay is getting a sense of humor, he does things to actually make us laugh at him, and when he gets the laugh he will do it again and again... to cute! He's also saying "phone" and "mote" for the remote - sometimes he will mix the two up and say "hello" into the remote with it up to his ear - and then when we laugh he will just do it over and over and look at us til we crack up at him.... So cute!

What a night and day you have been through! No wonder your nerves were fried. I am sorry to hear about Jake's laptop and loss of his music. And very sorry about you having to share.

Egads...a 3 AM call from anyone is too much, but a drunk EX relative? That bites.

Trying to stay awake to get my son from the school van. He did not make National's in Debate, but he is OK with that and in good spirits. His next tournament is in a week and he still has a shot in Speech.
