Morning AP!

Hiya, Kristin! How are you feeling?

Karen, I totally forgot to tell yo uhow much I liked what yo did with your new seating area. By the way, if your cat statue goes missing in the night, I took it. Sorry, but it was really meant to be mine. Tay is beyond cute and it looks like Grandma spoils him well! :-)

Hi AP & Kristin!

Lisa said...

Hey, Corinne! What area of Belgium are you visiting today?

kristin said...

AP - still feel crappy but the Claritin seems to be working. I did wake up with medicine head and mouth though :( At one point last night I woke up and thought I was going to throw up - totally random b/c my stomach didn't hurt. It was just enough to put a bad taste in my mouth - yuck!

I'm hoping with a couple more cups of coffee I might feel better.

Hey Corinne!

Trudy said...

Good Morning =)

Trudy said...

Hope you feel beter today Kristin.

kristin said...

oh, and AP - gag gift - it is a Daddy Diaper Duty Tool Belt - I bought a canvas tool belt and put some "diaper duty" items on it and then put letters on it that says "dad's on duty" - I took a pic and will post later. I had a different idea but the letters were too big but I think it turned out well.

Hi Trudy!

AP- I'm in Brussels today, apparently. That's actually where I live :D

kristin said...

Morning Trudy! How are you?

It's another beautiful day today, just wish I felt a little better to enjoy!

PJ said...

Morning Kristin, Trudy, Corinne, AP (everyone else)!

Kristin, sad to hear you're not feeling well.

AP - where the hell did you find that video?

Anonymous said...

Hi CK!

How are you?

Kristin- I'm sorry you're still not feeling good:(

PJ said...

Corinne - I'm super mahvalous - first day of spring break.

::dancing the lindy with dachshund around the family room in my robe and jammies::

PJ said...

And you, Corinne?

Anonymous said...

LOL, CK!

:D

Anonymous said...

I'm in a weird mood - not a foul mood, just weird.

I cried THREE times today for stupid things (like I couldn't find my glasses this morning etc.) and it's only 4 p.m.

What is even weirder is that I rarely ever cry.

Oh well. ;-)

kristin said...

I'm sorry Corinne! I hate days like those, I don't have them often but I do have them.

PJ said...

That's odd, Corinne. Some weird hormonal hiccup, maybe?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Hi all, think I'm all caught up.

PJ said...

Kristin - I just watched the tittaes bit - I must ask you now, what were you googling to find that gem?

Anonymous said...

Kristin- Yes, days like these suck. How is LM doing?

CK- Probably. Actually, I hope so because that is just not my usual self ;-)

Anonymous said...

Good morning BD! It must be early in San Diego, like 7 a.m., right?

kristin said...

CK - Oddly my mother sent it to me :)

Hey BD!

Corinne - LM is doing well - he was playing outside but just came in, its almost time to get ready for swim lessons, which means I must get out of my sweats and brush my teeth and hair. :(

He has a little cough and runny nose but no change in attitude :)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

It is exactly 7:01 a.m. :)

I was awakened by M. and A. in my bed a little before 6, wanting hugs, kisses and liquid refreshment.

Acting as a DD today; a friend of mine (B, not the pregnant one) is having a hard time, so I e-mailed a few people and we are taking her wine tasting so she can blow off some steam.

kristin said...

That is awesome BD! You are a good friend.

Anonymous said...

Kristin- Glad to hear that LM is doing well :)

Bd- That is such a nice thing to do :) And being awakened by A & M wanting hugs and kisses helps with the early wake up time.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Thanks, Kristin. I try. But once again, I won't be around here. :)

kristin said...

No worries!

I have swim lessons and then sisters baby shower so I won't be around much either.

I need a big bowl of chicken noodle soup w/ carrots. hmmmm....

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Thanks to Corinne, too. :)

This is San Diego's answer to Napa. Tiny, but they have some fairly eclectic wineries, and they aren't all listed here:

Hi, Trudy! How are you doing?

BD, what a great way to wake up. How's your friend who is on bedrest doing?

CK, I've seen EELS videos before and liked the music...I thought I remembered they had a Saturday one and sure enough, they do.

Bella, check in and say hi today before you start the weekend beer journey. ;-)

Anonymous said...

Morning!

Kristin I second the chicken soup. I think I might make some today and make some bread in the bread machine.

KaytieJ said...

Good morning all :-D
Kickin' back after work and seeing what y'all have been up to!

Lisa said...

Kaytie, we had a little excitement here last night but it faded off pretty quickly. :-)

PJ said...

Hi Sandy! How are you and your kids this morning?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

AP:

Friend on bedrest is doing fairly well, considering. Baby is growing and does not seem to be suffering from the amniotic rupture as of yet. If she is born today (29 weeks) she has a 95% chance of survival with less than 30% chance of long term complications. Their realistic goal is 32 weeks, but the major goal is 34 weeks, at which point she *might be allowed to deliver vaginally, and the baby *probably won't have to spend time in the NICU. They are really just trying to take one week at a time, though. I'm going down there Tuesday. I was going to go tomorrow but I really need to spend some time with my own kids, you know? I feel like I've just been seeing them in passing, with all that has happened around here lately.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

The hospital she is in is awesome. They have teatime, and art therapy, and all sorts of stuff to keep the long-term, high-risk pregnant women from getting cabin-fevery. I went to art therapy with J the other day; it's nice what they do for them. It almost made me wish that I was in the hospital for MY bedrest, because I was climbing the walls during that time.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Thanks for asking, AP.

Anonymous said...

We're good CK and you?

Angie said...

Happy Saturday everybody! Happy Spring Break CK!

BD, I'm glad your friend on bedrest is doing well. Teatime in the hospital is a new one!

Kristin, sorry you're not better yet. I hate medicine head and mouth.

Corinne, you missed our Krista sighting last night. What is your take on it?

I woke up at 5:00 AM, made my pie, then went back to bed for a few hours, then went to the grocery store. I've got a lot to do to get ready for my friends who are coming for dinner tonight, but I have all day to do it, so it should work out. I'm hoping to work in a nap too.

KaytieJ said...

Daisys - Yowza! Taiya - I am with you on trying to sort out lists, relists and polls :-D

FT - That is a downright no good person who would do that to a friend when their own circumstances are already secured.

PJ said...

Hi SW - dinner club tonight? Can you pick me up at the airport?

Robin in Montana said...

Good morning, all.

CK -- "dancing the lindy with the dachsund" - love it. I dance with my cat, named Elvis. Neither of us have a lick of rhythm. :-D

I'm making chicken noodle soup today, too! And I was going to have Kelly pick up bread, but in the bread machine might be better.

Corinne - sorry about the crying. I do that every once in awhile, too, and it pisses me off since I'm not generally prone to being a crier. Hope you get back in fighting form soon. :-D

BD - You're a good friend. :-)

Anonymous said...

Hi Kaytie, Sandy, SW & Taiya!

SW- I think it's a Sip member trying to stir shit. I have a few ideas as to whom it might be, but I still think my first assumption is the right one.

It was a very poor attempt at an impersonation. Pathetic.
I love how we are called losers when that person has obviously been reading every single one of the comments here.

Morning RiM and Corinne.

RiM: I'm lucky to have two bread machines. My mom gave me hers because she doesn't use it any more. I need to use up some flour that I have here.

Just hoping I don't blow a fuse! lol

T@iy@ said...

Bread machine bread sounds great. Can't use mine, though, because I accidentally threw away the mixer/kneader along with a loaf of bread that didn't work out.

Anonymous said...

Taiya, ooops! That's not good.

T@iy@ said...

Nope, not good. It was a loaf of applesauce nut bread, and the applesauce was home made and too thick so it didn't bake in the middle. I let it cool then just swept it into the garbage. :) It's been about a year. I should probably get on ordering that, eh?

Anonymous said...

Good morning everyone, just reading back over last night. I love that "Krista" is posting here, again. Does anyone really care about who is left at SIP? I don't. I'm not saying I don't care about people there, but the whole us vs. them theory really holds no weight with me, ya know?

SIP reminds me of this really exclusive private golf club we have here, called Chicago Golf. It's over a hundred years old, it has a room in in that no women are allowed into, and they denied Michael Jordan a membership...the running theory behind that is they denied him because he is black.

Moving on, Chicago Golf has now self-isolated itself so much over the past 25 years, they are slowly dying. Very few members, the grounds are going into disrepair. I bet in a few years it will be closed.

So, that is what SIP is to me. Too much structure and stricture, rules, regulations. SIP is extinguishing itself.

Anyway, in lighter news, I am going to pick up a corned beef today. Very exciting!

T@iy@ said...

Bella- how do you cook a corned beef? Never done that.

Anonymous said...

Bella- Exactly.

That's the irony in all of this. Either we are here because we've been banned/left SiP, then we know who's still there and pretty much don't care that they're on SiP.

Or we (general we) have never been on SiP and don't know who these people are.

Either way, we don't care (that they're on SiP).

Anonymous said...

Taiya, I don't really know! lol. I know you boil it with cabbage and spices, but I have to look up exactly what I need to do.

I'm more looking forward to having ruebens and corned beef hash than the plain corned beef.

Anonymous said...

I cook my corned beef in the crockpot and will never boil it again. It does not fall apart like other meats do.

I cover the beef with water and cook on low. About 2-3 hours before done, I put the cabbage on top. I'll boil the potatoes on the stove because I simply run out of room in the crockpot.

Anonymous said...

Sandy, that sounds good, too. Maybe I will try that.

PJ said...

Sandy - I'm going to try that this week. Never made corned beef myself, but I like it.

Any other hints for Bella and I? How long do you cook it for in total?

Anonymous said...

Or you could just bring to a boil on the stove and simmer for a few hours. A friend of my told me about the crockpot and I just think it's easier that way. Kind of set it and forget it.

Anonymous said...

Sandy=Ron Popeil.

Anonymous said...

CK, on low for 6-8 hours. Sometimes I give things a headstart and start them on high for a few hours then turn it down to low. I'll just test it with a fork to see if it's tender towards the end.

T@iy@ said...

Sandy- I am going to try that. Maybe i will get one today and make it tomorrow. My hubby would love it.

And reubens = yum!

Anonymous said...

Bella, lol

PJ said...

Taiya - oh yeah, reubens.

kristin said...

Hey ladies! Back from swim lessons, now I gotta get ready for the baby shower.

I'm exhausted, I just want to take a nap.

You guys are making me hungry.

Anonymous said...

Now I'm trying to find a recipe for bread.

Robin in Montana said...

Kelly already grabbed french bread at the grocery store, so no bread machine bread here.

Sandy, my kids' favorite bread recipe is for potato bread that you make with instant potato flakes. Can't find the exact recipe right now, though ...

Anonymous said...

I think I'm going to make french bread. You start it in the machine and finish in the oven.

Anonymous said...

Hi everyone. I just got a pedicure (yay) and am now working on our taxes (ugh). Happy Saturday!

Nilia said...

Good morning! I'm already irritated, just got off the phone with my VISA company again. People, please please please do not let your credit card company rip you off. Mine has been trying to because I paid my December bill on time but it was a holiday so they moved the payment over. Hey if you don't want me to pay it on a holiday move the payment due date to a work day. Their system was supposed to adjust it but it's now over 60 days and 3 statements later with debits and credits all over the place and I have wasted a lot of time and have to keep records and garbage like that. I hate dealing with banks. I always feel like they have a hand in my pocket. They are not going to get away with this.

I'm enjoying the conversations so far. I had a breadmaker too but I never even took it out of the box. I ended up giving it to my SIL. At least my first crockpot I used once or twice. I'll be using it again tomorrow for ribs again, everyone really liked it.

What are everyone's plans today? I'm tidying up, have a few messy corners of the house still post-renovations and I don't want to be stuck during March break doing that crap.

I'm feeling a little surly today, even before that bank phone call. Need something funny to happen here.

Anyone?

kristin said...

Nothing good here FT :(

I have a baby shower to go to in a few.

Sorry you are feeling surly - my eyes just hurt and I want to take a nap.

Anonymous said...

Why now all of a sudden is my son afraid of the bread machine? Huh?

Nilia said...

Kristin, have fun at the baby shower! I love the gag gift you made for your BIL, I must remember that.

Nilia said...

Sandy: I never actually turned my bread machine on but does it make noise like a hum? That's funny though, how old is he?

kristin said...

FT - I took a pic, so I will post it on my blog soon.

Anonymous said...

FT, I use the thing quite often. He won't say what the problem is but is okay with it now. It is kind of loud when it's kneading.

I told him he was my bread making helper and we're good now. Go figure.

Lindsay said...

Ummm. Corned beef is my favorite. And we had it last week and this week we'll have it again.

I just roast mine in the oven @325 and it's like an hour a pound. I cover it and put carrots and potatoes in with it about half way through. The potatoes get all salty and it's so good. Then I just boil the cabbage seperately.

And hi all! Hope you all are having a great Saturday!

Nilia said...

Hmmmm... this corned beef thing is growing.

What cut of meat would one buy to make corned beef? I really really don't like corned beef myself but my husband and oldest son do.

Lindsay said...

FT - I don't know about where you are, but I just buy "corned beef points" packaged with all the spices at the normal grocery store. I'm going to buy a bigger one this week so we can have reubens for leftovers.

Nilia said...

Lindsay: never heard of it. I have to ask for it at the butcher next time. Can you put up an exact recipe for it? Now, you have to make it stupid proof, this is all new territory for me!

Jeanette said...

Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know, the giveaway winner is up on my blog!

Lindsay said...

FT - I will do some research on what exactly spices are put in it. When I buy it, cause I'm not *at all a chef, it comes with it's little packet of spices. When I buy it today, I'll find out and post it this afternoon. It really is one my favorite things.

Lindsay said...

Jeanette - I think that people are going to think we rigged things :)

Jeanette said...

Holy Crap. I just went to see who won yours. That is funny!

Anonymous said...

Jeanette & Lindsay- That IS funny. Someone should play the lotery 'coz she's apparently super lucky ;-)

Hi FT!! :)

Angie said...

Hi again! Glad you're here again today, Kasey.

CK, not supper club tonight. That's next weekend at someone else's house. Tonight is my friend bringing his new girlfriend to meet me, and one other friend coming. I've got all the prep work done: everything's chopped, grated, and whipped. Still have to tidy up, vacuum, sweep the kitchen, maybe mop, get a shower, set the table, make the pasta sauce. Crap. I don't see a nap happening.

Anonymous said...

SW, what time should we be there? lol

Nilia said...

Corinne, is it really you!

And I think I will buy a lottery ticket today, cuz I think *I should have won. :0)

Looking forward to your corned beef post, Lindsay!

Nilia said...

I know, anyone remember the Polka Dot Door? And how the host never saw Polkaroo? That's Corinne and me. Only I'm not sure which one of us is the host and which one of is Polkaroo.

Nilia said...

For my part, I'll only agree to be interviewed if I can be coached by MckM on how to come across with charisma.

Thanks Taiya, they do suck and I am tired of dealing with them. I have to pay the interest and then they will credit me on NEXT month's statement. So I said, well that sounds like an interest free loan to you, doesn't it? Bastards.

Anonymous said...

LOL, FT! Thank God someone invented emails or we'd never chat together!

Nilia said...

SW: oh my goodness, I never realized that it was but I just googled it. Here's the official explanation for Polkaroo's mysterious absences:

Polkaroo appeared only to the female host while the male host was absent for some reason. The male host would return upon Polkaroo's departure, habitually exclaiming, "Polkaroo was here?!? And I missed him again?!?" The absent male host was in fact the actor in the Polkaroo costume, and though some sources have claimed that an uncredited third actor played the role, that was not the case.

Anonymous said...

Alas FT, I am logging off for today. I have a phonecall to make (yuck) and I have a feeling it's going to last FOREVER (double yuck).

See you all tomorrow! And, SW, have fun with your guests tonight :)

Hope everyone's having a good Saturday.

I'm about to go take a nap. I hate "spring forward", so I'm going to steal my lost hour back. If there's an opposite to S.A.D., then that's me.

Being the non-attached parent that I am...I just unloaded my kids for the second night in a row. Last night was a sleepover at a friend's house, tonight with my parents. It's almost enough to make me feel guilty. But not quite. We did have a family weekend last weekend, so it all works out.

Heck I don't even know what "attached parenting" means...all those crunchy things weren't en vogue back when I had babies. However, if I have any more babies the crunchiest I might go is to get baby legs cause those are kinda cute!

See ya around after I get my hour back!

Taiya,
I was okay with letting my kids stay over at my parents house. They were really close to my mom. And did not mind spending the night there, or time during the day about once a week.

For us, it was a win win for everyone (kids, parents, grandparents).

Everybody's different, and it has to work for all involved.

PJ said...

Maybe I was just too relaxed about it, but I think my kids benefited from spending time with friends (and their parents), relatives, overnights. Of course I was somewhat selective about who.

It was their dad (my ex) who I had to worry about.

I understand it Taiya - what I hear is that there's not a big need for you right now to have her stay with them. And you're doing what works for her. That's what caring parents do.

Nilia said...

CK: I want you to move here too! It's lonely being the only Daisy on Canadian soil.

And I think Taiya is protesting a little too much. Painting the accent wall my behind.

My kids overnighted with my parents fairly early too. More a want (for them) than a need (for me). They haven't overnighted there in a few years because then parents started overnighting here every week. They have a bond with my parents that I love. My inlaws are considerably older and so aren't really able to handle 2 rambunctious boys I don't think. They've never asked and my kids wouldn't want to go I don't think. At my parents they have their own room and toys and are more at ease. My inlaws are, well, old I guess and their entire house is just "old" and not appealing to small children. We don't see them as much but there's some issues there and I try to minimize the necessary so we don't overdo it.

Sorry I missed the earlier comments, my husband was out and called me to meet him to look at a camera which we ended up buying. We needed an new camera anyway, and not just because we "lost" our other one.

Well it's somewhere in this house, I have the case and everything but I believe the camera now resides in the post-renovation black hole of where things disappear to during renovations.

Loving my new camera, though.

This is looking like a good term for me :)

Checking in on everyone...am worn out but had a good day. Hope everyone else did, as well! *waves around*

Bella, I don't care about SIP except as a curiosity thing when something is said or like "Krista" last night. Then I do find it somewhat interesting but I can be a nosy thing.

As for corned beef, I always buy the ones with the seasoning package already in the vacuum sealed package. I was always under the impression that to do one from scratch with a piece of beef is a very time consuming process of some sort. I'm curious to hear what else is said about it here...

Lisa said...

Shannon, congratulations!

KaytieJ said...

Taiya - Have a fun time painting the town, painting the walls :-D And easing your daughter into your pending being away due to new baby sounds just fine.

Shannon - Woo Hoo and congratulations!

All this food talk has me hungry...might just take my crock pot to work with me :-D

Shannon said...

Thanks guys I am excited LOL teach me to freak out

Since AP reminded me I have to say that the interest in SIP isnt so much that I really care who is there as it is more how many can be left after all that has happened. Sure the whole conspiracy thing with who this "Krista" is is kind of fun and engaging but honestly I just find the whole idea of SIP anymore as something that I have no control over so why worry about it....it isnt even like we can engage and if they are talking any kind of stuff about us behind locked doors...who cares really?

She's saved up to buy a new one too. So we'll be leaving with two.

Not sure why she needs a new one, but it's her call.

Hey ladies - back and I am exhausted.

Going to catch up!

kristin said...

Taiya - not sure if you are still here but it is funny that you mention "painting" and a euphemism - my mom and step dad used to always "paint" when they were together - it was true b/c they were getting his house ready to sell but we used to joke about "painting" and when they got married, we wrote on the truck "it's better on a ladder". lol

Robin in Montana said...

Popping in to say hi and goodnight. Been an exhausting day here, and we're going to move some stuff to the new house tomorrow.

kristin said...

Yeah Robin! Have fun with that!

kristin said...

Congrats on the classes Shannon - such a relief.

As far as leaving kids - I so wish my mom or sister would take him - just for one night. I was left the first day from the hospital alone - and have only had 3 times away from him - 2 were for my sister's bachelorette party - as fun as they were, I did not get the sleep I would love to catch up on sans child. the other one being when LM was 7 months old or so.

I'm trying to convince my sis to let him spend the night b/c he really wants to stay over.

PJ said...

Kristin,
Are they not willing to do that?

Taiya - I was going to suggest that when you go to the hospital to have the baby, would it work better for your daughter to have your parents come stay with her at your house? Familiar surroundings?

kristin said...

CK - they don't offer and I feel bad b/c they are really helpful in other areas. LM has bitched a fit when we leave my sisters before and I keep hinting that she needs to have a sleep over with him.

She has them for her best friend and her girls but never with LM. Tonight he fell asleep over there and I would have let him sleep over there but she has been sick.

I did mention it and she said "any time" so I may take her up on that sometime.

I am going to put him down shortly and climb into bed. My eyes are burning and I can't breathe.

I left SO over there with the "boys", they are playing darts and drinking.

He is leaving tomorrow to go fishing for a few days. I was supposed to go (with LM) and take Monday off but with me taking Thursday off and the amount of jobs we are working on, I can't take it off.

going to bed ladies! Hopefully I will feel like a new and improved Kristin tomorrow!

Night!

Hope everyone had a great Saturday!

Well, I'm just old. Without giving it a second thought, I checked all the fluids and tire pressure before making an 80 mile round trip. I can't walk as far as I used to and had to sit down and rest once. I drive the speed limit in the right lane and with both hands and now something is going on where pasta gives me...um...bathroom issues. Nothing else does it. Just pasta. Plus, every time I sit down, I fall asleep. Oh, and I caught myself humming in a store. That all happened today.

This is relevant to nothing, just figured I'd over-share.

AP,
If you were het, I'd set you up with my father.

Watching the 1974 movie Earthquake on Netflix.

Nilia said...

Quiet here tonight... I pop in and out but don't have much to share. Watched Where the Wild Things Are tonight. Well not all of it, I had to get up and leave because that is just the strangest movie I have ever seen. What is the point of it? Is it even a kids' movie?

Watching Ghost Whisperer.

Hey did you know there's a oopsiedaisee blog that's by invite only? It's true! Weird, huh?

Earthquake
starring Walter Matthau Drunk (as Walter Matuschanskayasky)

PJ said...

I can see why he changed his name.

To borrow an expression from Land Before Time -

"EARTHSHAKE!"

Lisa said...

CK, that was mean. I'm sure your dad is a nice man but hmph! Oh, God, I have a glass of Port in front of me. This is bad.

FT, I did not know about that blog. Interesting. I wonder how long it has been around?

PJ said...

I'm just teasing - cause I like you. I tell my students that.

I wouldn't do that to you. But you opened the door! I just walked in.

Speaking of old, remember the epic disaster movies of the 1970s?

Airport (and the various sequels)
Poseidon Adventure
Earthquake
The Towering Inferno

"Speaking of old, remember the epic disaster movies of the 1970s?"

The Poseidon Adventure scared the shit out of me. Those were some damn good movies for their time, weren't they?

Lisa said...

Speaking of old movies, I really miss the old variety shows. Sonny and Cher, Merv Griffin, Laugh In, Carol Burnett...I still love the Carol Burnett Show. Mr. Tuddball and Mrs. Wiggins can still crack me up. Man. I need some Ben-Gay and corn pads or something.

PJ said...

I luv Carol Burnett and her show. There's a special about her on public television this week. I coveted Cher's body.

Lisa said...

I wanted Cher's hair and cool. I still love Cher, she's one of my all-time favorite performers. I do not envy her Chastity, though. Excuse me. Chaz.

Taiya - I hope you didn't think I was being critical of what you were doing - not at all. Wish I'd made the more clear.

I just got into reminiscing about my experience with my kids. It worked for us, but isn't right for everybody.

How'd she do tonight? Was she going to spend the night - and have you gotten a call yet?

PJ said...

Taiya,
My parents preferred to have the kids at their house too.

Taiya,
I worry about coming across that way myself too.

My husband says "I knew I married Mrs. Right. I just didn't know her first name was Always."

Goodnight. Heading off to bed.. :)

My mom felt the same about babysitting in my home and I never had a problem with it. Not that I'm criticizing anyone who does, just saying that the way I always looked at it, she didn't let me die or anything there and he was sleeping in my old bedroom. Good enough.

Nilia said...

AP: not sure. I was on a different computer and couldn't remember the exact URL of this site, so I googled and it and the title was Oopsie Daisy but it took me to a different spelling, oopsiedaisee and then it was by invite only.

For a second, seriously, I got a flashback of a private blog and I had a WTF moment.

Nilia said...

Carol Burnett: my favourite episode of all time was the Gone with the Wind episode where she (literally) wears the drapes!

Nilia said...

And I see that someone is hiding their ass.

Goodnight, whoever you are.

Lisa said...

Lol...it wasn't me, FT. I let my ass shine out openly.

Okay. I just got off the phone, at this hour, with my mom. My mom who never cries and she was crying. *sighs* She's had slow progressing cataracts for around 20 years and refused to do anything about them. She was up, upset, and admitted that for the first time she felt unsafe just driving to Publix, which doesn't even involve leaving our residential neighborhood. Friday, she called and made an appointment with a local doctor who does cataracts and she felt the need to confess all this to me at midnight and ask me to take her to her first appointment Tuesday. Poor old bird, she's really, really scared something will go wrong and she'll go blind. I know better and am thrilled for her, even if she isn't.

PJ said...

AP,
Morning - I'm here getting teary our Miss Arse getting teary.

My dad had cataract surgery and it was a breeze. Not that that's going to reassure her or anything, but I wanted to share that.

(Instead of setting my dad up with you (ha) - he's never been to Florida - maybe he could come down and meet your mom. A match made via Daisy?)

PJ said...

Okay, who's here from Herenthout, Antwerpen?

Is it that sneaky Corinne, trying to hide again?

Morning Daisies!

Hi Taiya!

kristin said...

Morning ladies!

AP - sorry Miss Arse was upset. My grandma just had cataract surgery and she was thrilled. She said everything was so much more sharp.

I went to bed early and am feeling slightly better.

Taiya - glad the little one was excited to see you leave (even if you weren't). How did it go? Is she still there?

Anonymous said...

Hi all!

AP- My grandmother (dad's mother) had cataract surgery and, though she was kind of scared of having the surgery, she's beyond glad she did it.

Ck- Yep, that's me ;-)

Glad to hear you're a bit better, Kristin. That's going in the right direction.

I have to go get ready for my day. BBL.

My daughter drank my first two cups of coffee this morning - it's too we to go outside to play and I can't figure out what to do with her - ping, ping, pinging off the walls!

Margo said...

I love corned beef but I've never made it... Do you dress up for the parade?
