AP - made me look.

RV said "huh, maybe this is my excuse to convince my wife I NEED a Flip..." If her blog is their business wouldn't a flip be a tax write off?

Robin in Montana said...

Popping in to say hi. RE: the lights, I am planning on trying to buy cute ornaments here and there as I can (there's a really cute gift shop in town that a Christmas room) so that next year my tree doesn't look like the generic bank tree, but I have no lights whatsoever.

In other news, I am leaving Kelly for Guy Fieri. Neither Kelly nor Guy know yet, though, so don't say anything just yet, okay? :-D

And in *other news, for Kristin, the menu tonight is hot dogs and mac and cheese and smores. I know. By request. ::gag::

Robin in Montana said...

and W.T.F??? is that mess of food JM posted as her lunch? That is just wrong.

Robin in Montana said...

Your boyfriend's post is actually pretty sweet, AP.

RiM - first christmas tree - how exciting!

Robin in Montana said...

Margaret - this last Christmas was my first tree, (there's a pic in my blog somewhere) but I was kind of like a fish out of water with knowing what the hell to do with it. lol.

RIM

Do you ever make tofu? I have some and I want to try it for the boys any suggestions? I =made fried rice last week and it wash mushy b/c I scrambled the egg right in with the rice. Then yesterday I saw your suggestion about cooking the egg before adding it into the rice. Darn you!

kristin said...

Hey Laura - how are you doing? How are the gentlemen?

Anonymous said...

I think your tree last year looked good!

I'm not banned from commenting on IM's site - hmmm

laura said...

All is well in Nc, except for an eating strike that has me ten shades of crazy. The gentlemen are getting tall, but they are so thin. It is embarassing when people make commetnsw about their size. I made it out into the garden yesterday and turned over the dirt and now I need to get planting.

How is LM and what is the softball plan?

kristin said...

Yuck RiM -I don't do hotdogs. I do make them for LM. I have leftovers so I think I am going to go with that.

Oh, side rant - we had a girl doing our Autocad - little blonde girl - friendly with ho-worker - well she's only been here about a year and taken a lot of time off. She got married and went back to MI for that, then her g'pa got sick or something and took time a week off for that. Then her house sold - she did one of those flip your house things - and took time off for that - and then ended up the closing was pushed back - so took more time off.

Well then she tells the owners that her hubby got a promotion and they will be moving back to Michigan. Says her last day will be end of March or beginning of April but had to take last week off to go up to MI to look at houses. She was supposed to be back on Monday - ho-worker called her, said she was going to come in - never showed. Then big boss gets an e-mail - says she is too busy and won't be coming back.

Real professional - considering she was in the middle of a freakin' project when she left - and 3 other ones that she was working on.

I just don't understand people like that. Oh, and she was always late for work - b/w 8:30 and 10:00 - and wouldn't call. uggggggghhhhh!

NICE!

**end of rant**

kristin said...

Laura - LM is refusing to eat at school and I've had to start packing his lunch. He doesn't do PBJ so I have to send him to school with meat and cheese. I have tried alternatives to meat but he isn't much into anything else - I even tried lunch meat but he doesn't like it or won't try it.

Uggghhh! I hear your frustration.

I am not sure - I really want to play softball but my sis just started Bootcamp and I think I want to do it too, it is MWF at 7:00 so I wouldn't be able to play. I need to lose weight big time - I have to see how much it will cost.

laura said...

I would do the boot camp. My gym has it and it won't fit in my schedul, but if it would I would be there in a heartbeat. With your determination the weight would fall of of you.

Lisa said...

"In other news, I am leaving Kelly for Guy Fieri."

Are you going to pronounce Fieri with a "t" in it? If so, I might not be able to maintain our friendship. As for JM's lunch, I'm a pretty proud eater and I'd have some trouble with that bowl unless I picked it apart and ate the items appropriately grouped.

Laura, hi! It's so good to see you. :-)

Kristin, people like your now ex-coworker make me nuts. No manners, no decency.

Anonymous said...

Hello there! It's a really nice day today. Why do I just want to take a nap? :)

It's good to see you Laura.

Kristin...why wasn't your coworker fired for always being late and taking too much time off, etc? Employers today put up with too much crap. Who has to do her work now that she isn't coming back?

Have you heard anything from that job fair you went to?

laura said...

AP

I read your HC bill thoughts and agreee with you in total. I'm so concerned, they say that the IRS will be in charge of making sure that we all suscribe to an "insurance" plan. More big cluster govt.

laura said...

Kristin,

Would it be safe for me to take the gentlemen to the pool alone to work on water skills with a life jacket on the one that I'm not working with at the moment? We started paretn and me calssses and they need to get into the water a few times a week and I don't have any help.

Robin in Montana said...

AP - I'm not going to call him anything. He can just cook and talk and I will laugh at his very funny sense of humor. Other than that I will have nothing to do with him. ::nods::

Kristin - Sorry about the co-worker. There are days I miss working with people, but that kind of office junk reminds me how much I don't miss it.

I don't eat hot dogs, either. I'll just eat ... I don't know, something else. Katie wants the cheese dogs. Even worse -- slimy orange stuff oozing out of slimy pink stuff, no thanks. :-D

Laura -- sorry about the gentlemen. What kind of things do they like?

Robin in Montana said...

Oh, meant to ask, what is bootcamp?

Anonymous said...

Hi Laura & Christy!

RiM- JM's lunch? Would not come anywhere near my mouth. Yuck.

kristin said...

Christy - the people I work with are very laid back and don't give 2 shits about a lot of things - it drives me crazy - I am the only one here (other than the field employees) until about 8:30.

It is a small family owned business and pretty much everyone here is very unprofessional.

It workes great when I want to take time off or am running late (which is rare).

AP - new e-mail :)

Laura - really thinking about the bootcamp - my sis said she ran 1.25 miles - and I hate running and have bad knees but it might do me good to do it.

kristin said...

If he will listen - don't use a lifejacket.

At the place I am working - they have 3 kids to one adult and the other kids are required to sit on the steps and she keeps a pretty good eye on them. I know as a parent they don't tend to listen as much so you might want some sort of floatation device since you won't have help. At the place I work - they have a deck monitor.

The life jacket just prohibits the normal feeling of swimming.

Anonymous said...

Kristin - Ugh. I hate, hate it when people are *too laidback.

kristin said...

bootcamp - kinda the new thing to do - military style fitness routine.

http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/sampleworkouts/a/FitnessBootcamp.htm

They have one at my gym also but it is at 9:15 and I think I would do much better outdoors.

Waiting on info from my sis to see - since they do have babysitting during.

Lisa said...

Laura, I'm glad some of my rambling last night made sense and that you agree. Now, you said something I didn't know...the IRS is going to be running the show? My God.

kristin said...

I mentioned something along those lines AP - SO said they would be hiring about 16,000 IRS reps to "monitor" businesses and make sure the people had insurance.

Lindsay said...

K - if you need someone to do contract labor on the autocad stuff, my hubby could do it for you guys :) If you are in a bind and all. That girl is unbelievable. I don't get why people have no sense of accountability.

And I probably wouldn't eat all that crap together either. Maybe that's why she's puking all the time - because she's eating disgusting concoctions!!!

Lindsay said...

RiM - will you still be my friend if I admit to liking cheese dogs? I never allow myself to have them, but sometimes I crave them :p

Angie said...

Hi all! Sorry I've been scarce the last couple of days. Work has been super busy, and clearly keeping AP in the manner to which she is accustomed is going to take some effort.

I'm opting out of future discussion about the health care issue. I have very strong feelings about it, as I've shared, but I think the discussion is potentially divisive and I wanna be liked. :-)

I'm cooking a birthday dinner for my best friend for our Lost night tonight. She's a size 4 vegetarian and barely eats at all, so that simplified the menu. I'm serving a mixed green salad with parmesan viniagrette, twice baked potatoes, roasted asparagus and spring vidalia onions, and the fabulous PW olive cheese bread Robin turned me on to. (Thanks again Robin!)

Gotta run to a meeting. I probably won't be back tonight, but I'll be back in the mix tomorrow. See ya later!

kristin said...

Lindsay - Does he work for a company?

You can always send me his resume or I can give you someone to send it to or he could just send Korey an e-mail.

I know we have someone right now that we are using on a contract basis.

I joked with the owner and said - so you are going to give her a glowing recommendation when she asks you guys to give her one. She wants to strangle the girl.

I just don't understand - when I am going to be 5 minutes late I call either her or her son (her son is usually in the office) to let them know I am running late - everyone else could give a rat's ass - it is frustrating.

kristin said...

hi and bye SW!

Robin in Montana said...

Lindsay - I will still be your friend. We will just never, ever discuss hot dogs.

I want that darn olive cheese bread!

Lindsay said...

K - he's an architect by training, but right now he's a PM for a commercial contractor (a lot less hours for a lot more money). He loves to do stuff in autocad and still does a lot of design work for their contracting clients. If you already have a contract person, though, that's cool. I just thought if you needed someone to finish up what lazy girl was in the middle of, he could help you out!

SW - I love that you have your own opinions and it would never make me like you less ;) Just thought I'd let you know. Have a good dinner. I must find a way to get myself invited to your house!

kristin said...

I am going to have to try to make the olive cheese bread!

LM tends to like the turkey dogs better and that is what I try to give him. He doesn't like the cheesey dogs. I thought he would and I bought them, nope..not so much!

kristin said...

I will ask him and see what he says. We got through one yesterday/last night so, so far - so good.

Anonymous said...

Hi Corinne. SW...sounds like a yummy dinner.

Anonymous said...

I too would like to hear SW's ideas on HC - perhaps you could write a blog about it?

WTF - covers JM's lunch and the girl from Kristin's work.

My daughter just said she wants to see Molly eating rodents - it's now a family affair!

Anonymous said...

We are having fish sticks, rice and salad.

Anonymous said...

I bet it's real soft around molly's eyes.

This is how Texas Gov Rick Perry feels about the health care bill:

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement regarding Texas’ next steps after the passage of the federal health care bill:

“Texas leaders will continue to do everything in our power to find ways to protect our families, taxpayers and medical providers from the federal government’s misguided efforts to take over our health care system and infringe upon the fundamental rights of individuals and the state.”

“My office is working closely with fellow governors and with Attorney General Greg Abbott to explore the state’s options, including legal action, to challenge the constitutionality of this national health care bill that will cost Texas taxpayers billions of dollars and drive down the quality of health care.”

maybe Texas will secede :)

kristin said...

can i just say I am glad that SO is back at work?

geesh, that sounds bad. Maybe I will actually get something accomplished.

I had to rewash what I had in the washing machine b/c I let it sit too long.

Anonymous said...

My husband is going back to work tomorrow - he lost his job Dec 2008 - I suspect it's going to be a BIG adjustment.

Muliebrity said...

Hey all! Had, my now, every two week OB appointment in a town 70 miles away. How can an hour long drive take so much out of person?

kristin said...

Oh Mulie - sucks!

I'm sorry!

How did it go?

When are you due again?

kristin said...

Yeah Margaret! Is he excited? Is this something he wants to be doing?

Robin in Montana said...

Mulie - I don't know where you live, but that's how I feel about here -- anything "real" that needs to be done, like big grocery shopping, doctor's appointments, whatever, is in Kalispell, which is roughly 70 miles away and it just feels like an eternity, that drive.

Robin in Montana said...

Ooohh, Margaret! What's he doing?

Muliebrity said...

I'm due June 4th, so it finally feels like I'm getting close. It is annoying to know that you are pregnant before a test can confirm it. It makes for a looooong 9 months. I am driving as far as I am because the OB in town won't let me try a V-Back.

Anonymous said...

He's an electrician (union) so it's what he's always done. There are over 1200 guys at his local out of work so it's a good thing he's going back to work.

Anonymous said...

He wants to be a professional fisherman but that's not in the cards right now :)

Muliebrity said...

Margaret, My whole extended family is out-of-work electricians! You would think that the union would stop letting people in when they have no work. They all voted for Obama because he promised the unions work. Just having't seen the work yet...

kristin said...

alright ladies - see ya later!

Anonymous said...

I don't know if they are letting new guys in my husband's local. I'm not really a fan of unions.

Anonymous said...

Me and the little guy were out all afternoon doing yard work. He loves doing that stuff. Now my allergies are so bad I want to cry.

T@iy@ said...

Mulie- that stinks about the drive. I would do it for a VBAC, too, though if I needed one. I have a friend who just went for the c-section even though she wanted a vaginal birth with the second and she regrets it. Her appt. to get c-section was at noon and she was in labor at 2am. Instead of just doing the c-section she was given a crap ton of medicine over and over to stop her body's natural instinct. The whole thing was kind of weird and she wasn't happy about it.

M - another reason you should move to Forks. He can lead fishing expeditions :) Fish and get paid!

did you hear from your FIL today?

Lindsay said...

Oh, and yay he got the job!

Anonymous said...

Margaret, yay for the hubs job. My brother is also an electrician (non-union) and he has been out of work since May, 2009. He worked for free for almost 4 months. Boss finally gave him a check and showed him the door. Check bounced. NICE.

Anonymous said...

My friend's hubs does HVAC (union) lost is job in around Christmas. Started his own company (going non-union) and work is slowly starting to trickle in.

Other friend's hubs is electrician (union) and lost his job before Christmas. He is now trying to apprentice with the pipe fitters.

Just talked to FIL - more work draining his lungs and then maybe home on Thursday or Friday :)

"I'm opting out of future discussion about the health care issue. I have very strong feelings about it, as I've shared, but I think the discussion is potentially divisive and I wanna be liked. :-)"

Well, I'm honestly sad that you think anyone here would not like you, or not be respectful of your opinion if that's a concern, no matter how strongly you disagreed. :-( But, it's your comfort level and I'll respect that and not push you.

Margaret, congrats to your husband and I hope FIL is home soon!

Sandy, when is the first meeting?

Dinner was cheese ravioli in a seafood alfredo sauce, steamed broccoli and breadsticks. Mmm!

KaytieJ said...

SW - I would like you no matter your opinion on the Health Care bill :-D And honestly, I WANT to hear good things about it.

Margaret - WooHoo to your hubby. That is such a struggle when they are off. Hope it goes well for you both!

Off to work - have a lovely night everyone!

kristin said...

well the mouse pad thingy on my laptop went out or something - so I had to go to Walmart and get a new one. ugggghhhh - this is a brand new computer.

Ummm...Lindsay - I am going to e-mail you but the construction manager said we may need someone else to contract with :)

I went by the office after I picked up LM b/c big boss - Mr. M - is a bit stressed and I have known him all my life - I call him Uncle M which gets confusing b/c his name is the same as my sisters (pregnant) hubby - which is Uncle M to LM - so it was Mr. M and LM was oh so confused - but we went over there so Mr. M could see him and we played on the swing and played on the tractor and let him run.

Came home and then left to go get the mouse - came home and ate leftover chicken, stir-fry and rice.

kristin said...

Oh and I have a bit of the clutzes today - I dropped a basket of misc crap at work (paper clips, ink pads, rubber bands, markers, etc) all over the floor then dropped a pair of scissors (why are they called a pair) and went to try to stop it and it hit the top of my finger - and I cut it :(

PJ said...

SW, are you here and watching Idol?

I'm doing some work watching Idol and checking in - Crystal just rocked the house!

The rest - yawn...

kristin said...

ck - didn't your hubby have an interview?

How did it go?

PJ said...

Kristin
you said "Came home and then left to go get the mouse - came home and ate leftover chicken, stir-fry and rice."

I read it quickly and thought you said you ate some mouse. You and Molly.

PJ said...

Kristin - thanks for asking - the phone interview has turned into an in person interview, but not until after Easter.

kristin said...

LMAO CK!

PJ said...

Leftover mouse even, Kristin.

kristin said...

I'm watching CK but I missed the first singers. :(

Too busy eating CHICKEN and putting the mouse together :)

kristin said...

Oh and CK congrats on the hubby's interview - too bad it is after Easter though.

Is it something that he will enjoy?

PJ said...

Just asked him - he thinks so - smaller division of a bigger corporation. Lots of hands on - which he is good at.

PJ said...

The only problem is he's overqualified, so a lot of places won't hire because they think you'll be out the door the minute something higher paid opens up.

Even if you tell them you want to stick around, companies tend to not believe you.

Nilia said...

Good evening!

Everyone sounds well today.

PJ said...

Hi FT,
Kristin's not gonna feel too well as she attempts to digest that mouse.

Nilia said...

Well who can blame her? I was eating leftover vegetable chop suey and it was nice and crunchy and then Molly started up on that rabbit (?) and I had to put the damned food down.

Hope that interview after Easter goes well, CK.

PJ said...

Thank you FT. I get sick watching her eat too.

Nilia said...

The question is, will Kristin hack up some pellets?

T@iy@ said...

Hey all!

kristin said...

Yeah CK - that pellet is gonna be rough coming back up.

I NEED a drink. LM is being difficult.

PJ said...

Hi Tayia.

kristin said...

hey taiya - how are you feeling? Did you get some babysitting help?

kristin said...

Hoping Bella and BD are doing well!

I have to go do some work, so I'm out. Have a good evening, everyone!

AP the meeting is the annual review and is on April 13th.

My people come home tomorrow. C had a great time but wants to come home now. My husband said that she was really good the whole trip. (I'll get the fall-out when she gets home but that's okay.)

There's another owl baby!!!

Muliebrity said...

Evening!

T@iy@ said...

Hi Mulie! So how is the baby treating you? Mine is a kicker and nonstop mover this time. Last baby was calm and quiet.

Muliebrity said...

This baby is active but not annoying. #2 was a mover and a shaker, but this one is not quite so active.

Muliebrity said...

Watching these damn owls!

Nilia said...

Goodbye, CK!

Muliebrity said...

These boys are begging me to put them to bed, so off we go. Night, all!

Nilia said...

Sandy: your annual review is for the last term or September or when is it meant to apply to?

Give 'em hell, Sandy!

Lindsay said...

Hello!

K - don't even worry about it. I just wondered if there was any way he could help if you were left in a lurch. :) I just felt bad if she left in the middle of a project.

Lindsay said...

Sandy - I bet you are so excited to see C, though!

Anonymous said...

It's to have things in place for the new school year. However whatever is put in the IEP will start as of the 13th or whenever I decide to sign the paperwork.

Anonymous said...

I miss her Lindsay.

Nilia said...

I don't know much about when IEPs are actually drawn up, I do receive copies of the children in my various classes who are on IEPs if French is one of the subjects accomodated or modified. It seems early though, but I guess it's a good time for you to put your disappointment on the table and they need to make some changes for September at the latest. That should give them plenty of time, right?

It sounds like she misses you too, are you planning something special or just going to hang out when she comes back?

kristin said...

Sandy - yeah for C coming home! I am sure you miss her so very much - but glad you had that bonding time with your little guy!

kristin said...

This stupid Parenthood show has me in tears each and every show!

Anonymous said...

I think we're just going to hang. Their plane lands at 5:35pm and by the time they get home it will probably be near 7pm. Just lots of hugs.

kristin said...

Got the laundry changed out - and folded - my stuff and SO's stuff is put away.

Dishwasher is started and I'm almost ready to hit the hay.

Going to look at Molly for a minute and head to bed.

Sandy - is B excited about C coming home?

Anonymous said...

Kristin, he's very excited. He kept saying to me today, one more sleep and C's coming home.

Nilia said...

Doing laundry here too but wanted to say goodnight to Sandy and Kristin and anyone else who`s on.

Sandy: enjoy C and the reunion of B and C tomorrow, should be cute. Have a great Wednesday.
