Monday morning Eugenics.

To learn more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenics

"Early eugenicists were mostly concerned with perceived intelligence factors that often correlated strongly with social class. Many eugenicists took inspiration from the selective breeding of animals (where purebreds are often strived for) as their analogy for improving human society."

Mulie- That sucks!

RiM- It makes you wonder how she got through law school and passed the bar exam.

Corinne -- Maybe just *dressing like a penis isn't her only talent ...

I do think she's smart enough, since the times I've gotten (well, Kelly got after her, but it was my mouthiness) after her, she snaps out of it and does her job. Judging from FB (she's also recently divorced, but young) she's so busy partying and meeting 'boys' and figuring out where the next shindig is that she's either thinking of that stuff or fighting a hangover. She seems like she's sharp enough that she'd probably do just fine if she could stay focused.

I had to beg them to turn the water back on! His pay is a month behind. He was just deployed, so there was a gap in his pay from his regular job and then there was a clerical delay in his Guard pay. He SHOULD get paid twice this week.

I am really gonna bust our image now because I HAVE to do some homework....only 2 1/2 weeks left till finals so I have to buckle down :)

" Maybe just *dressing like a penis isn't her only talent ..."

Yep. Must be it. She worships a lot :P

Robin in Montana said...

Here I am, criticizing a woman of God. :;shakes head::

Shannon- I should work too but, let's face it, that's not gonna happen tonight.
Everytime I get on this computer, I open a window with Oopsie Daisy and well, that's not the best idea when I have to work. Do you have the same issue ;) ?

Anonymous said...

RiM- Shame on you, indeed :P

kristin said...

I'm with you corinne!

Shannon said...

LOL Corinne....I never close my Daisy window so every time it comes on what do I see???? Not really proactive in getting stuff done :)

Lisa said...

"HAHAHAHAHA Mulie that is horrible!!!!"

What's worse is you laughing at something horrible! Damn, Shannon...lol!

Mulie, that's bad and *I won't laugh, I promise. Can you get it back on soon?

Lisa said...

Robin, I think you should post a copy of that letter when you write it. *nods* So, if Kelly can get the rest resolved, what time frame are y'all looking at for his divorce to become final now?

Muliebrity said...

I laid on the story about my husband being deployed and his pay getting jack up and they sent the dude back over and turned it back on five minutes later. Even if I would have had the money, they probably wouldn't have turned it back on until 4pm. Don't ask me how I know that...

Lisa said...

It's okay, Mulie, I have trouble with bills, too. *nods*

Robin in Montana said...

AP -- Well, if the settlement were to be accepted by both sides, they'd both sign, and theoretically as fast as a court date could be set, it would be over. Mine was signed on like a Friday or Monday and I had my court date by Thursday morning of that next week.

However, there are a couple of sticking points. She's getting a cash settlement, she's getting 401(k) money, and she's getting pension money. She (per her atty) plans on cashing out the 401(k) money (stoooopid) to pay off all the debt she's racked up since they separated, and their wording in their offer says something like "until" she gets the cash out of the 401(k) AND the cash settlement that he will continue to pay the house payment, all utilities and insurance *plus child support. Uh ... not going to happen. It can't happen. The cash setttlement will have to come from a loan and he just can't swing all of that.

She also has wording to the effect that she will refinance the house and get his name off "in six months or 'as soon as reasonably possible'" He's wanting it six months, period. Otherwise that leaves that big debt in his name on his credit and will be prohibitive of him being able to move on in terms of buyihng a new house and so on.

Other than, just some weird crap that we left, but that I foresee causing problems. Like the dining room table (huge, huge, huge) that she has valued to him, which means he would take it. What the hell are we going to do with a table big enough to seat 20 people? And really, I don't see her wanting it out of her house. Just odd.

So. We'll see. There are a couple f

For those looking for Olympics mittens: I haven't found any yet (except 1 kid-sized that just happened to be returned today while I was calling that particular store looking for some) but I will keep searching.

I did however find a white canvas-wrapped canoe which I think you should consider. It retails for only $7,500.00. Let me know if you want me to pick it up for you. I'll place it on one of the Great Lakes (depends where you are) and push it in your general direction.

Btw, Plato's quote is not as offensive if replaced in the context of his philosophy and the culture of Ancient Greece.
I knew Malthus was a eugenist but the others? Wow.

Anonymous said...

FT- Will you ship it to Belgium? Pretty please? ;-)

Nilia said...

Corinne, I confess to never having heard of the term eugenist until now. And I'm nowhere *near as low bred as Shannon. ;0)

Robin in Montana said...

FT - I would, but we already have a couple of those just laying around.

Nilia said...

Corinne: Well sure! I'll pack it with me when I go to Portugal this summer, then maybe place it just off our west coast and push it north and hope it weaves its' way to you? I just realized (looking at a map) that you are next to the Netherlands. That's where the Philips head office is (I worked for Philips Medical before becoming a teacher).

Nilia said...

RiM: I know you would. I don't think Shannon wants one, cuz she couldn't worship her husband in one. (Too much?)

Nilia said...

Bought Shortround some newborn diapers while out on my errands. Just the smell of the package brought a lump to my throat.

Robin in Montana said...

Worship in a canoe might be tricky. Probably more just lip service than actual worship, you know?

Robin in Montana said...

Awwwww, Shortround. :*)

Nilia said...

RiM: oh my God, I was thinking it but you *said it, LOL!

Anonymous said...

FT- Sounds like a plan ;-) Don't ship it too early though because I'm in California the first three weeks of July, k? :P

I hadn't heard of eugenist before I had an ethics class back when I was a pre-med.
eugenist comes from the Greek eu- which means good/well and "genô" which means 'to give birth to', it can thus be translated as 'well-born'.

It is a crazy theory that would probably never have existed if Darwin hadn't written his evolution theory. So, he enlightened the human race with a brand new knowledge but also plagued it with that theory somehow.

Shannon said...

I PISH all of you!!!!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

RiM, a little bit; I also think she's a touch nervous. We went to one of the schools to pick up a form (we have a primary and an alternate) and she wanted to see the class, and was afraid her teacher wouldn't like her, but otherwise she is more excited to turn "number 5" so she can go to the big school.

Shannon said...

Nothing will come between me and my worship!!!! Even if I have to lie to do it LMAO

Robin in Montana said...

Aww, how cute. Cami was nervous and excited like that, and Katie never did (and still doesn't) give a rat's ass.

In an aside, Katie decided since she turned 9 that she was going to "start taking care of her hair," which translated to her brushing it in the morning instead of me doing it for her and both of us ending up in a wrestling match on the floor with hair flying. I don't expect that to last long. :-D

Robin in Montana said...

Shannon - I hear you. Who knew I was so religious? lol.

Anonymous said...

Bd- That's great! (And I was kinda reassured that you added the 'before they are used' to your love of diaper smell ;) )

FT- I think Shortround will have at least one doting aunt ;)

Hi again Taiya, I knew you couldn't stay away too long... we are a fascinating bunch. How old are your kids? I miss having babies. My boys are 6 and 10.

CM: I'm good! I just had my very first nephew (i.e. on my side) born last Friday so I'm floating on air. His name (until his parents finish pouting and one of them gives in and they just name the darned kid) is Shortround Steve. My 6-year old named him that. It's just as well, I was getting sick of calling him "the baby". How have *you been?

Thanks Kristin, and thanks for the e-mail ;)

I'll admit I've followed Mckmama, but dropped off the MckCheeseblock bashing only for the sake of good ju-ju, BUT! BUT!!! Thanks for asking about me, Kristin. You are very thoughtful that way. I feel like crap, but am still at work. I had something "due" today and had to get it done. It took me about four hours to finish (I'm super slow when I feel bad), and I can't bill it to the client at all. So Boo.

Now I have to call a aggressive client and I'm not in full voice so he's probably going to make mincemeat out of me. My job sucks.

Taiya the Lyrics blog shows how she really is on the inside I think but then again her blog at

Kristin lol, GM sold her site to the dog.

SW- (((hugs))).

Kristin - I'm Catholic. Thus, I live with guilt and the need for repentance.
Last time I went to Church, the priest said that those who didn't believe would burn in hell (I'm paraphrasing here but that's what he meant). Thanks but no, thanks. I left.
My dad is atheist, btw. My mom is Catholic. I am Catholic by choice. My sister is baptized and confirmed but only because it would've offended my grandparents (on mom's side) if she had decided against confirmation; she's pretty much atheist, though.

CM - I admit to being confused in the same douche canoe as FT. I knew I "knew" your name, but didn't remember if it was from when I first got to OHIH (shortly before the Great Brouhaha of 2009) or from SIP.

SIP is still going, with some who post both places and some who lurk, either openly or secretively. And while trying not to break any rules from over there, everyone is well and status quo. Some just feel comfortable here, and some don't.

Me? I feel comfy in my low-life-edness both places. :-D

Taiya - I'm worried about you. You came in saying you didnt' think you'd be welcome here and I took that to mean you thought you might be more of the BF type. I'm thinking you're scooching into this low-lifed, flower-snorting, husband-worshipping-hating pack of biddies (and it *is biddies, GM, not "bitties" Hope that helps. Or is it "biddys" Gosh, I dont know now....) just fine, and that concerns me. ::cackle::

I liked SIP too and honestly still adamantly insist I did not break any rules. Shannon's post disappearing? Seriously, what goodbye post do you guys know of which was left up? There's a lot I could spill in terms of confidences and email but I did not and I will not. That's just not who I am, no matter what someone at SIP thinks.

When the bannings started though, I was uncomfortable as were many of you. I am not sure if I ultimately was banned for breaking a rule or because I said to just revoke my invite (when the rule-breaking was brought to my attention) but it is to my everlasting shame that I did not ask earlier since I *was beginning to feel uncomfortable there and should have just said so. This is not a condemnation of any who stayed or left or whatever. Just what I should have done because I knew I should have done it. Sorry if this is murky.

speaking of, has anyone heard from our little Rhody friend?

She is one I miss!

I don't know any Spanish cuss words, unless they are very similar in Portuguese and I can think of one offhand, actually, that I won't type here.

Whoops just noticed spelling error in French haiku. Only Corinne will notice, probably!

FT- It is not murky.
I left because I realized that we were not going to get a *rational answer as to why Kristin was banned.
SiP clearly went to being ours to being hers. I don't wish won ill, I never would. However, I cannot stand by someone who sets up arbitrary rules and acts irrationally.

So Won = SIP?

FT- Yup. I noticed ;-) Should we let people guess the mistake? ;-)

Kristin- EM posted on her blog this morning I think. I remember reading something from her in my google reader :-)

Taiya- After OHiH imploded another communty was set up, called SiP. It is an invite-only blog. There has been some drama there over the course of February. Long story...

FT - I too do not think I did anything wrong. I am sorry if won was uncomfortable with me but to this day, i don't think I have done anything wrong.

To this day, I have still not received any explanation.

I have no ill will towards Wendy either.

Ryla (daughter) loves corn relish. She is 2. I canned it last summer and the smell alone makes me nauseous. Is that strange?

Nilia said...

Syllables in Peril.... I like it! Sounds like a grunge rock band, tho'.......

I mean, did Won start SIP? I was wondering where she went. I liked Won and still follow blog.

Corinne: should we offer a prize for the first person to point out the spelling error? I have an OHIH apron (hardly used), a picture of CK's dog wearing a sweater and hating it, and a bath bomb left from Bella's Secret Santa gift to me. The cellulite bar of soap is slightly used.

*her blog

Nilia said...

Mulie: yes, Won started SIP.

Taiya: did you feel nauseous pre-pregnancy or only post? What is the smell? I've never seen corn relish. It is vinegar-y?

Anonymous said...

FT- Hmmm. Maybe? ;-) (I *love that picture of Rusty, btw. It's so cute :) )

T@iy@ said...

Corn Relish is corn, onions, cabbage and a crap ton of vinegar. Oh, and a TON of dry mustard. Boiled. And it is just all around nausea-inducing for me.

Anonymous said...

Taiya- That makes me nauseous and I've never had it!

T@iy@ said...

Exactly. My hubs loves it.

Muliebrity said...

Thanks, FT. I wondered where she went to!

Nilia said...

Taiya, hmmm... sounds intriguing. And you can it yourself? I don't have any preserving skills myself, sadly.
