::rather than shooting AP, I am whipping her with a swollen, spotted cow tongue::

Nilia said...

Okay, repost:

Whoops, maybe I went a little high. That's what we give and what they give back too, it's hard to keep track of sometimes, but that's how we've done it. I've done gift cards too, or if I find a really great sale item I think they'll like I'll do a gift + some money or gift card.

FT, who is in labor?

kristin said...

and from last post:

Totally off topic - but did you see the found the body of the actor (from Growing Pains) in Vancouver. It appears he committed suicide. Such a shame!

Makes me think of Amy - hi Amy, hope you and your family are doing well!

HI AP! Hope you are surviving!

Nilia said...

Just saw the video above, OMFG!

But tell us, AP, how do you *really feel?

You need some good clips on there from SouthPark. My favourite episode of all time hands-down is when Kyle sings the "I'm a Jew" song. I know the lyrics by heart.

Bella: My SIL + brother (only sibling) with their first baby!

Shannon said...

I hope that AP isnt telling us things via video :)

Anonymous said...

FT, great!! I just read back that you hope it's a boy...I assume they are keeping it a surprise? I love that...there are so few true surprises in life. That is one of them!

Nilia said...

Yes, they are keeping it a surprise but he's made some comments to mom about what he *thinks and I'm not supposed to know. Now granted he doesn't work in ultrasound and it isn't always obvious even to sonographers but.... I've bought everything boy, is that bad?

Nilia said...

My mother is terrible at keeping these kinds of (baby)secrets!

When I was pregnant with my first, my coworkers scanned me and asked if they could check for gender. I agreed and later they began to give me presents which I could not open since it would give the gender away. I am not good with that stuff like that so I gave them to mom. She wasn't good with that stuff either so she gave them to my husband to hide from *both of us, LOL!

Anonymous said...

LOL, AP, do tell :)

PJ said...

I learned last night that AP also stands for Attachment Parenting.

This resulted in an image of AP babywearing grown up Jake.

PJ said...

So, in spite of stepping gingerly and carefully across an icy street in St. Paul, down a snow covered side walk and up the still uncleared steps to my ex's house to pick daughter up, then back out, down the steps and sidewalk, across the street, I somehow ended up UNDER the 4Runner when I went to get in.

Two gouges of flesh out of my hand, a sore elbow and hip. The hip ought to be technicolor in a day or so.

Anonymous said...

Geez, CK....ouch!

I imagine AP babywearing Jake in his Comic-Con outfit...doesn't he dress like a female anime character?

FT, hopefully you will have an answer by tomorrow if you are a proud aunt to a neice or nephew! Hopefully her labor goes smoothly :)

kristin said...

ouch CK! Hope you are okay?

OT - does anyone know how to "read" comments from a blog without going to the blog? I know there was a way, just don't remember.

PJ said...

Bella, I believe his costume was an anime schoolgirl.

Anonymous said...

Kristin, you can subscribe to the comment feed, but I think you have to go to the blog to pick it up....some blogs have a feed button, some don't. I think you may be able to pick up a feed in google reader.

CK: Ouch. I smell ex-voodoo.

Nilia said...

Goodnight, Kristin.

kristin said...

CK - I hope you aren't too sore tomorrow! Take something tonight before bed!

PJ said...

Thanks all - I'm going to bed and will take drugs before I go. Sleepy and weary.

Hope you all have a good evening.

Lisa said...

Oh, no, CK! I really hope it's not too serious! Also, considering we did attachment parenting and I ended up with a 8 year old still sleeping with me, AP fits here, too. Oh, and yes, he dresses as an anime schoolgirl. It's cute in that vaguely disconcerting type of way.

FT, congrats to your family!

Heck, I know I'm forgetting things to reply to. I'm sorry!

Lisa said...

Okay, today's HFH update. He? Was his normally offensive self, talking a walk through my neighborhood and commenting on how run down it was (it really isn't) and how much bigger the homes are up there, how no one parks on their laws up there because "we care about how things look" and making snide comments about the "lack of culture" here. Her? Hair hasn't been washed since last Thursday and ::blech::. Her breath runs a close second, always. I *think she might not brush her teeth. But we were still doing relatively well until dinnertime. They wanted to go out to a slightly pricey (to me, anyway) popular seafood place they love and we find pretty mediocre. He said "we want to take you to dinner" so I assumed that meant he intended on paying. We get there and I wasn't terribly hungry so instead of Jake and I each getting a standard, average priced (for there) range combo platter as we'd usually do and carrying half of it all home, he whispered and asked if we could order the double priced lobster and crab combo and share the single meal. I said sure. Same end cost to HFH and we'd have a rare treat...win-win. We eat, the check comes and it lays there for a bit. I'm feeling weird thinking they're having issues over what we ordered so I picked it up and said, "Let me get this one." And they both immediately agree, throwing out a cursory thanks. So, once again, I get to pick up the tab on a $100+ dinner. Seriously, I'm not poor or anything but I'm not well-off either this is a huge chunk of money for me to put out for a single dinner and they know it. You'd think I'd learn since it winds up happening every single time they both come, yet somehow, I do not learn. Ugh...we'll be eating simply for awhile now. They left after telling me how funny they find it that people here don't object to the lack of plays, concerts, and other forms of entertainment and how "quaint" we are. Truly they make me need narcotics.

Shannon said...

AP seriously I would be pissed and they should be so embarrassed for stiffing you with the bill. I would tell them no more nights out to eat unless it is the dollar menu. I can only imagine. I mean $100 every couple months is a doable thing I certainly hope they arent expecting dinners with that kind of bill for the rest of their stay.

Lisa said...

Shannon, I'm not happy but I'm also aggravated with myself for not expecting this. I should be prepared for it by now. $100 on one meal isn't really ever in my budget anymore. It's only one more dinner, thankfully, that I have to worry about.

Shannon said...

That is a good thing that it is almost over with. Yeah I can imagine for you and Jake a $100 meal is flat out crazy. Heck for Josh and I, I tend to skimp here and there so that we can have a dinner out alone maybe once a month for $30, just so we can get out alone.

It is still just so wrong for me to imagine telling someone I want to take them to dinner and then leave them to pay the bill.

Karen said...

Just caught up and now its 3:06 and time for bed, damn! I'm gonna try again tomorrow to be online during the day! I am hoping to hear tomorrow that I got the job, and when I start so I can go get some stuff to wear... You cannot wear anything with any metal at all - no underwire in your bra - no jeans, no snaps, nothing metal on your shoes... I need to shop!!!

Goodnight!

kristin said...

Morning ladies!

I have a grumpy one this morning...oh joy!

Anonymous said...

Hi all!

Kristin - I'm sorry LM is grumpy this morning :(

Ck- Ouch! I hope it's not hurting too much.

FT- Let us know about your SIL!

AP- The HFH...grrr. You can bet I'd make them sleep on the doorstep!
(And, dirty hair is one of my pet peeves. Yuck.)

kristin said...

Hey Corinne - how are you this morning? LM got better! :)

CK - how are you feeling this morning? Hopefully you are not in too much pain.

Anonymous said...

Kristin- I'm fine :) How are *you?

Angie said...

Hi all! CK, so sorry about your fall. This effing winter needs to end, already.

AP, your song/video choice cracked me up, but your story about the dinner check pisses me off. I hate those guys, and this needs to be their last visit, ever.

I've had a really busy week with something social every evening, and I'm wiped. My weekend calendar is blissfully empty and I look forward to catching up here.

Hope everyone has a great Friday!

Anonymous said...

SW- Hi!
I reviewed Shutter Island just for you (it's in yesterday's comments). I'm going to see it again tonight!

kristin said...

Hey SW!

Yes AP - I seriously think if they are going to be so damn disrespectful, a little pork really isn't much.

and if you do have them over again, maybe the Daisy girls can plan on a vacation nearby and intervene :)

Angie said...

Oh, yay, Corinne! I totally forgot that I'm going to go see it this weekend! Probably tomorrow.

AP cannot have these people over again, Kristin. You're right we'll intervene. This is ridiculous. I understand that you feel sorry for her AP, bad breath, greasy hair and all, but I don't understand why you would subject yourself to people who are just rude. You don't have to be rude yourself to get out of having them over next year. You just have to be really really "busy."

Lindsay said...

Good morning!

AP those people suck. I'm sorry to say, but they suck. You may need to purge those people from your acquaintance list.

And given the context of your HFH situation, I laughed doubly hard at Borat this morning.

Hope you all have a good day!!!

kristin said...

Hey Lindsay!

How are you this morning!

Lindsay said...

Much better today :) Had a little housecleaning "discussion" and perhaps some common ground was found. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Sorry LM was so grumpy. Is he still coughing a lot?

Anonymous said...

SW- When you've seen it, tell me what you thought of it!

Hi Lindsay!

kristin said...

Lindsay - actually he is much better. No coughing! Yeah! Swim lessons tomorrow! He missed 2 weeks b/c of this crap.

He actually got in a better mood after he "woke" up.

Lindsay said...

Hi Corinne - Ohmygosh. Your review of Shutter Island made me actually want to see it. And I am such a scaredy cat. My hubby wants to go see it and I thought I'd send him alone, but now maybe not.

Lindsay said...

That's great news Kristin! About not being crabby and feeling better!

kristin said...

OT - my sis went and got an ultrasound on Wednesday. He was not cooperative at all - but the best pic they have of him - his hand is over his face and he has his middle finger prominently displayed. Pretty freakin' funny!

Wondering if FT's SIL had the baby and if it was indeed a boy.

Anonymous said...

Lindsay- Definitely go with you dh!

Krsitin - That *is funny!

Lisa said...

Good morning, everyone. Hope everyone is having a decent one! I woke up feeling quite optimistic and in a better mood, so we shall see. It helps that she's going to my hair person to get her hair washed today. I wish I could purge them from my guest list but I really cannot so I'll just have to suck it up. Kristin, she would *love meeting y'all. Desperately love it. She would stare at you all adoringly and tell you all how very special you must be if I like you. Yeah, I'm not kidding. This is why she is not *here.

Kristin, glad LM is better but sorry for the grumps!

Lindsay, I missed whatever the housekeeping issue was about but it sounds like you made headway.

SW, busy social life? Hot dates?

Lisa said...

Karen, why can't you wear metal to the new job?

Lindsay said...

Oooh! I was wondering about the metal, too. And I thought what a fantastic job for me. I could wear elastic waisted pants!

AP - Great news on the hair washing front. Does she want to see your dentist, too, while she's in town?

Anonymous said...

Karen - I second AP, why no metal? Because no underwire bra and no jeans seem like very strict non metal rules to me. I mean, those things are even allowed in airports and we know how strict *they are!

kristin said...

AP - I don't think I could be "nice" if she stared adoringly at me, I might say something snarky and piss her and her hubby right off.

I too was wondering about the metal and Karen's job.

Alright, I really have a crap load of work to do. We have 8 jobs coming up - good times!

Anonymous said...

AP- Good luck to your hair person! Greasy hair = one of the yuckiest things ever!

kristin said...

Oh, and if you guys are bored, I have a new uninspired post up with pics :)

Angie said...

AP, definitely no hot dates. Just an unusually busy social calendar. Monday night I had movie night with work spouse. Tuesday night was Lost night with best friend. Wednesday night was dinner at friend's house for other friends' engagement celebration; Last night was HORRIBLE dinner with the daughter and husband of my Mom's next door neighbor. Long story I'll post about later.

I am craving time to myself, and hope to not see one single soul this weekend.

Robin in Montana said...

Morning all!

FT -- Baby news?

CK -- OUCH! I hope you're not feeling too sore and beaten up this morning.

::makes note to visit AP and 'take her out to dinner'::::

Kristin -- Sorry about the grumpies!

Corinne - I really want to see Shutter Island. Unfortunately, Alvin & the Chipmunks, the Squeaquel is on the calendar for tonight. Not enough vodka in this world, I tell you!

SW - I want to hear the dinner story.

Lindsay - Hope you did find some common ground!

Hmmm, I know I'm missing someone, but I'll keep reading.

Robin in Montana said...

Oh, and Kristin, LIsa isn't even *sort of exaggerating about how this houseguest would act if she met everyone. I get emails from her checking on my welfare (which I feel mean saying this, becasue she really does mean well) that are ... suffocating. She hearts me just because I'm Lisa's friend. And she's never even *been to my house. lol. Nor ever will be. :-D

kristin said...

::waving at RiM

Want to take one more to the Chipmunks?

Lindsay, I would love to hear your approach, as I need to have that convo too.

Yes, SW - I want to hear the story too!

Lindsay said...

My approach included calling hubby a "real dick" and other such niceties. I don't think I could recommend my approach as it ended with me in tears. I think the tears might have done something for me, though :) Not that I would ever cry on purpose to get my way. . .

Robin in Montana said...

Linday -- I literally laughed out loud. Kelly and I have gotten into it a couple times, but never have I called him names or yelled. I have cried, but it wasn't on purpose. When I was married, though, towards the end? "Real dick" would have been considered a term of endearment. :) And tears made not one iota of difference to him.

Robin in Montana said...

The dog picture contest on PW is so darn cute. I want a big, outside dog now. Right now. lol.

Lindsay said...

RiM - I have no idea where it came from, either. I generally try to avoid name calling, but perhaps I was driven over the edge with picking up his dirty undies off the bathroom floor for nearly 14 years. I think that could be my alibi. I think it went something like, "I don't understand why you can use the laundry hamper. Don't you see that blantantly leaving your crap on the ground is disrespectful to me. You're a real dick." His response, "I'm at work and can't have this conversation right now. We can talk about it after the kids go to bed tonight." click.

Maybe I shouldn't have brought it up while he was at work.

Lindsay said...

can = can't. He most certainly does not use the laundry hamper.

kristin said...

Yes, I have had a few convo's where I have ended up in tears. Usually all conflict convo's I end up in tears - I hate it but that is what happens.

Robin in Montana said...

Lindsay - I laughed out loud again. But yeah, something that is just blatantly disrespectful over and over again can definitely wear to the point you snap.

The madder I get the more likely I am to cry, which makes me, in turn, even *more mad. Stupid.

Robin in Montana said...

madder? MADDER? Geez. More mad.

kristin said...

RiM - you are the madder hatter :)

You still feeling okay?

What does everyone have planned this weekend? Anything fun and exciting?

Robin in Montana said...

Good Lord. I've just spent all morning wandering around the Internet finding all sorts of interior decorating blogs I must now read like a crack whore every day. Several were suggested to me, and then I found more from following links. Now I want to decorate this house!

Kristin - Yes, I am feeling so much better, thank goodness. No exciting plans for the weekend. We will have Kelly's girls as usual on Saturday and my girls are home this weekend. I hope the weather is decent so we can get out and do something as I'm about to go nuts sitting in this house.

How about you? Plans? Did you see they're not putting that whale down, but "observing" him?

Anyone want to talk about American Idol?

Robin in Montana said...

Oh, I asked yesterday about the birthday money because a friend in Oregon, her ex husband has a new girlfriend, like maybe a month or so old of a relationship, and she is doing everything she can to undermine Eileen and "take over" kind of with the kids. Anyway, Eileen's daughter's birthday was this last week, and she and her husband bought her some radio/CD player/something that she's been wanting, cost about $40. The kid was totally thrilled. Took it to her dad's house, the new girlfriend asked how much it cost, kid said, and so for her birthday *there, the new girlfriend gave her $50, *her parents gave the kid $50, and who knows what was said, but has made the kid make comments about how they spent so much more on her. Eileen is *pissed. I know everyone's financial situations and family traditions are different, but for *me, and knowing Eileen's family, $50 seems very extravagant in that scenario.

Lindsay said...

Oh, my comcast homepage says that Simon is getting married.

Hubby thinks they should just let the whale go free. I said that would be cruel, and his argument was a)obviously the whale still has a hunting instinct, so he might be fine and b)what do you think happens if he gets put down. I couldn't argue with that logic, really.

Lindsay said...

That bites for your friend. Where does that girlfriend get off? She needs to learn some boundaries, that's for sure.

kristin said...

It is sad for the killer whale. They should not be subject to small spaces and I agree that the whale should not be put down.

I read there is a sanctuary in Brazil that is set up for whales from captivity where they can roam and hunt, etc. I think he should go there.

It is sad that he was taken from captivity. They said it is similar to a human being forced to live in a bathtub. I'm sure you would get kinda angry and lash out to people who were feeding you.

SeaWorld does do some amazing things but there needs to be boundaries.

RiM - I do think boundaries need to be set for the girlfriend too. It does sound like she is trying to "buy" the daughters love. Eventually the child will figure it out (I hope) but it happens a lot, unfortunately.

Lindsay said...

RiM - the more I thought about the friend, I actually fault the ex-husband. *He's the one who needs to set those boundaries, not your friend. And, I'm thinking that a girlfriend of a month probably doesn't have a lot of business giving the girl a birthday present anyway.

Robin in Montana said...

I don't really think that new of a relationship ought to be buying much in the way of presents, either. A card maybe? Or something small. The ex is busy trying to buy the kids, too, though. He has the money and ability to always give them the stuff she won't be able to, and all I know to tell her is that yes, the kids will love the "stuff," but that they will always love her just because she is always there and a constant for them. And yeah, I don't think that Eileen is really capable of setting any boundaries for what happens there, but I can (from situations we deal with here) sure as heck understand her frustration.

Robin in Montana said...

Okay, that "Ihategreenbeans.com" blog? Has a picture up of some frozen green beans with a severed snake head in them. I can never eat frozen green beans again. ::shudder::

I am happy though cause only like 3 weeks of school then I can have a break for a minute :)

Angie said...

Robin, the dinner story isn't super interesting, so don't have high expectations. My Mom's next door neighbor in the small town where I'm from (200 miles south of here) has a grown daughter (mid-thirties) who is moving to Huntsville (where I live) with her husband in a few months. I don't know the daughter at all and have only met her once. But she friended me on FB a while back and I've swapped greetings with her there.

So I decided to be nice and welcoming and told her to let me know when she would be in town and I'd take her and her husband (who I've never met at all) to dinner. I knew it would make my folks happy, because they like their neighbor a lot. The girl and her husband are up here house hunting for a few days, and she wrote me on FB and we set up dinner at a Mexican restaurant for last night.

I've had a busy busy week and was grumpy already before dinner, but on the way there I was complimenting myself in my head for (a) being such a friendly, welcoming person and (b) being such a people person that I can have dinner with complete strangers and it's no big deal. Basically I thought I rocked.

Well, dinner was absolutely awful. (Food was good. The company was atrocious.) The girl is sweet (though not super bright), and dinner with her would have been fine. But her husband totally bugged the crap out of me. He claims to be an engineering graduate from my alma mater, but he did not come across as smart at all, and he was a complete bore. He did not ask me a single question or express any interest in me whatsoever, and all he wanted to talk about was all the things he's done in his life.

He grew up in Germany, used to ride a bicycle into France, flies all kinds of planes, flies a helicopter, skis in Colorado, was a rafting guide, snorkled in Europe, blah blah blah blah blah. I just could not stand listening to him brag about himself, and I literally almost got up and left, because I didn't think I could take it.

Then he said something negative about the President, and while normally comments about O roll off my back, I already hated this guy and it was all I could do not to leave the table. I just kept thinking about my Mom and Dad and how awkward it would be for them if I made a scene or was rude so I suffered through it.

I paid the tab and the minute I did, I said, "Well, this was fun, I'm going to have to go." And I picked up my purse and started to get up. They just sat there, like they weren't ready to go. And he went on about himself for another five minutes, until I finally just stood up, determined to leave with or without them. Thankfully, they got up too and I got the hell out of there.

I think on a night when I wasn't so tired and grumpy, I could have handled it better. But I guess it was a good check on my pride. Turns out I'm NOT such a people person that I can have dinner with anyone and it will be fine. AND, I'm not particularly friendly or welcoming. It is my fondest wish never to see them again.

Lindsay said...

SW - but you made your mom & dad proud :) Ugh. He may have been an engineering grad. I worked with a lot of engineers at a certain airplane manufacturer in Seattle, and I am fairly certain that some of these people got a "correspondence degree" in aeronautical engineering. It's a miracle these planes don't just fall out of the sky!

kristin said...

SW - I KNOW exactly the type you are talking about. Being in the single world, I've done my fair share of dating and those guys would drive me nuts. I would be blunt with them a lot of times and ask, are you not interested in me? I usually didn't hear from them again :)

Yes, I am sure your parents are proud. You were nice and civil.

I can just imagine if you were dining with the HFH...now that would be interesting!

kristin said...

oh, and plans this weekend:

swim lessons tomorrow morning and birthday party tomorrow afternoon.

SO is off Sunday (I think) but not sure what we will do - I want to go to the zoo or something because LM keeps saying he wants to see "nakes an yions an bears an dofins an......" He definitely has a vivid imagination.

CPTwife said...

It's sounds like the blind date from hell. Some people just have the social skills of a sloth. I suggest meeting for coffee next time. Then you can decide where it goes from there. At least your mom will be happy.

kristin said...

I don't know if anyone has heard of the Layla Grace story, the sweet little 2 year old? I have heard people talk about her and she lives pretty close to me. I just went to her blog and am reading, I am very near tears.

It sounds like she will lose her battle very soon and it breaks my heart. I don't understand. Why?

Anywho, sorry...it's just sad!

kristin said...

This day needs to end! WOW! It is dragging!

CPTwife said...

I visited that blog the other day Kristin. It is very sad. I had trouble reading it since my youngest is so close in age. I just can't imagine.

Anonymous said...

Hey Kristin...I hear you on the day dragging! TGIF:)

Robin...my dad acted like your friend's ex. He couldn't be counted on to pay CS, but wanted to give expensive gifts so he would look cool. We knew what he was up to, though we were a little older than your friend's daughter.

SW, I like what you tried to do...it was nice of you and you did a good job at being friendly even if you didn't feel that way.

FT...any baby news?

kristin said...

Yes CPT - it is so very sad. It seems like she won't last much longer. Poor, sweet little girl.

AP - hope you are surviving!

It's only 2:30 - wtf! Come on 5:00 - where are you?

Robin in Montana said...

CPT - I *love that blog! Thank you!

SW - That sucks. The fact that you even went to dinner (and paid for said dinner) with people you don't know makes you a much bigger person than I am to begin with. What a frickin' idiot that guy is. They probably just think the evening went *amazing and will want to hook up again.

Kristin - the zoo sounds fun.

CHristy - I think you're right, kids will see through that crap eventually.

The Layla Grace story? I almost wish I hadn't have looked, just so, so heartbreaking. Those pictures of her and her dad, they're so beautiful, but the pain he is feeling just bleeds out of those photos.

kristin said...

They do, don't they RiM. That is what I was thinking. I am sure in his head, he is just wondering how much time he has with his precious daughter.

I feel so bad for this family.

I am sorry I made you look.

I forgot to add one very important thing in my review of it, though.

Leonardo DiCaprio is *hot. Really. (That's an important thing to add when you review a movie, right? ;) )

RiM- Your friend's daughter's birthday gift debacle? Wow.
And, Alvin and the Chipmunks? Good luck to you!

Hey all - Happy Friday!

The non-metal at this new job is because it is in "the vault" at the corp. headquarters of a huge parent company of many jewelry stores... and they get the incoming shipments from their vendors there, and then I will be unpacking, re-ticketing and getting ready to ship the jewelry out to the stores - my daughter worked there for a few months at the beginning of her first pregnancy - and people wear sweats and scrubs and stuff, and i have to find tennis shoes without metal on the eyelet openings for the laces... the lady that interviewed me even said that you can't even have anything plastic that looks like a "jewel" so no fake pearly things on sweaters and stuff. The metal detector you have to go through to go into work every day is very very sensitive. Angela told me when she was working there someone tried to steal a loose diamond worth over $10,000 by putting it in her "body cavity" and they found it! So yep - elastic waist pants and no zip shirts - no jewelry of any kind is allowed to be worn either... and she said if you wear nail polish and it has sparkles and glitter in it...the metal in that might set the detector off! I'd prefer to by-pass body cavity searches so I'll stick to non metal nail polish!!! Haha!!

We got almost a foot of snow and its still coming down, we didn't leave the house yet today and I haven't gotten a call about the job yet, so shopping will wait I guess... We will have Tay all day tomorrow and he's spending the night, I'm going to be highlighting my daughter's hair and her step sister's hair - and having dinner at their house tomorrow night!

Robin - where was that posted???

Thats nuts!

I am with someone that is half jewish - I don't snort daisy's - I don't have a husband - I do have a life - and I'm not miserable!!

haha that really is funny - who the hell said that? Apparently they see the top and don't read? What?

Kristin - my plan is to try to lose weight at this new job.. but the elastic waist will not be a helpful motivator!!!! I have lots of "jammie" pants, but don't think they are appropriate to wear in public... I've noticed that alot of the sweat and yoga pants out there are made for a 21 year old's body - not my body!! So am looking at longer over-jacket type hoodies, without a zipper - harder to find this type of thing than you think!!!

Karen said...

CK i wondered that too - I hope its the same person, God forbid AP have two friends that are like that - with the non-washed hair and the smothering friendship!!

I had a nice 1/2 hour long conversation on the phone this afternoon from a guy I used to work with - telling me all the office gossip! I miss him, and a few of the other people, but certain people from there, same thing as when I as there, I don't miss their shit!!

kristin said...

Karen - how is the car?

Robin in Montana said...

Karen - It was on GM's Lyrics blog. It tries really hard, kind of cute. lol.

Karen said...

$80 and its fixed Kristin - a power steering pump and belt and a few hoses - and its back to running - thank goodness cause its 4 wheel drive and our snow is piling higher and higher! and i want pizza tonight!! So we must go out and brave this crap!

Glad to hear LM is feeling better Kristin! I'm sure the swimming lesson will be good for him - isn't humidified air (like at an indoor pool) good for congestion? Like a steamy shower, right?

kristin said...

glad to hear Karen! That is awesome.

I am glad that his coughing is gone too and we can resume swim lessons. yes, it is an indoor pool and maybe it will benefit him.

Karen said...

Robin I saw - thats the first place I looked after I thought about it - saw that Shannon got her own special mention on there too - How sweet of GM isn't it? She seemed like she tried her best on OHIH to be sweet and cheerful and a good friend, what a two faced thing to do right? to people that could care less about her - to pick this group to rag on? Something wrong upstairs with someone like that!!!

Karen said...

I cannot wait for the pool in our apartment to open! I took 2nd shift at this new job (if I get it) because I am NOT a morning person and 1st shift was 7-3:30 and also I'm thinking ahead to summer, and having a pool at this complex, I can go lay at the pool from 11-2 and enjoy the sun and the summer, then go home and get ready for working 4-12:30 - Still be able to spend time with the grandkids and stuff... best of both worlds. We'll see how I feel about that once I actually start! ha!

Angie said...

Robin, that's hilarious! I don't hate my (nonexistent) husband or Jews, but she *nailed me with the rest! And you haven't been high until you've been Daisy high folks! ::taking another snort::

kristin said...

okay...the duct tape is not working!

"no life, low life trash talking miserable fools you got there" - hmmmm....who has no life?

I'm sure the grandbabies would be proud!

Can you share your Daisy so I can have a snort - then maybe I can hallucinate a husband to hate on!

kristin said...

snort some daisy - that's what she said!

Angie said...

Lord have mercy, I'm beat. I need to work for another hour or so, but I'm just "give out," as we say down here in No-life-low-lifeville.

Karen said...

LOL who has no life that they have to go read what other people have to say on this blog and then write about US not having a life?

Yea, I'm sure her entire family would be proud of their grammie!!

Speaking of duct tape - that IS the proper spelling, DUCT tape, right?

I was at walmart the other day - the woman behind me was putting her items on the belt as I was waiting to pay - and she has a roll of "DUCK tape" it was seriously called DUCK TAPE

Did they change the spelling for the people that didn't know it was "duct"

Karen said...

SW I though they said "done tuckered out" in the south??

kristin said...

Looks like it is a brand of duct tape Karen.

http://www.duckbrand.com/

Karen said...

yea - Kristin - thats what she had! How crazy or actually "smart" is that? if you are looking up duck tape online - you are going to get that sight first! funny stuff!

Shannon said...

Ok I have actually made a dent in homework and housework today....but then again I am a no life low life who needs to get a job....I just cant pass the drug testing with my horrendous daisy addiction :)

I laugh because it makes me feel like we are all very important, after all I am the untrustworthy hero type.

Karen said...

Hi Shannon!

Untrustworthy hero type? whats that supposed to mean?

Shannon said...

It was from one of her older posts over there on lyrics where she hit on a lot of the old OHIH/SIPS/Daisy girls

The woman is a whackadoo LOL

Karen said...

Yea she has some serious issues thats for sure! So what is anyone having for dinner tonight? I want pizza! I made a huge dinner last night for my daughter and son and daughter in law - tonight I want to not cook!

kristin said...

I have nothing to loose and I'm sure I am coming up soon on her bashing list.

Speaking of whackadoo - she even has a blog for her damn dog Newman - seriously?

Shannon said...

Pizza sounds so good right now!!! I love me some pizza :)

Karen said...

Pizza in NY is so much better than pizza in OH - but I haven't had it for so long, it can be bad pizza and I think I'd like it! I should order it soon I bet it will be a long delivery time if the roads are bad.... stupid snow! better not interfere with my dinner plans!

Shannon said...

Ya know Kristin I think that she is loving that she doesnt have to have alleged moles to see what we are doing or saying on here. Personally I could give a shit what she has to say about any of us because I look at the source. A lonely bitter old woman who's only real connection on this earth is her dog.

Robin in Montana said...

Oh, pizza sounds good. Shannon, not that I'd classify it as "great" pizza, but you have Abby's up there, right? Or is that only southern Oregon? An Abby's Special with that Peppy hot sauce and ranch dressing? I'd be willing to hurt someone for that. I think it will be leftovers here before we head out to the movie.

suz said...

Afternoon you daisy sniff'n low lifes! lol jk. So, GM is at it again. I hate to even ask but where is her blog site? I thought she was done with the lyrics one?
Oh, well pass me a hit of daisy goodness :P

Rim, wow, sorry you had shitty dinner companions.
AP what the hell? did no one teach your guests any manners? Apparently not

Shannon said...

I would hope Karen that driver there would be used to driving in such weather and would be able to make your dinner hot and fresh :)

Shannon said...

Oh yeah Robin I do love Abby's. They have it here where we are too....I thought Abby's was a national chain? LOL

suz said...

I have a confession, I order my pizza online, get it delivered frozen from Ohio Chicago deepdish kind. Karen I think you are in Ohio? Ever heard of Lou Malnati's. I order it once or twice a year, get several and try and make them last.

Robin in Montana said...

No Abby's here. ::sniffs::

Karen said...

Lou Malnati's? never heard of it - but that is awesome that you import Ohio piza!! haha!!

a blog for your dog? and who is no life? please!

Karen said...

Suz is this it? I dont' see an Ohio location?

http://www.loumalnatis.com/Locations/

suz said...

Karen, that is because I am a dumb ass and thought they had outlets in Ohio as well as Illinois. So, no Ohio pizza (hangs head in shame).
I don't have a dog blog, GM does

Robin in Montana said...

where's the dog blog?

::feeling like a bad parent because I have no cat, no dog, no horse blog. Not even FB pages for them:::

Karen said...

Yea i know suz - I didn't meant you!!! i was talking about GM - talk about a loser -having a dog blog - and she calls US no-life?

I was looking cause if I could find a really good pizza place "out" i would go run and take a shower and we could go "out" but i think delivery is what its going to be - patti is napping right now - as soon as she wakes up - I think I'm going to order it!!

when is the olympics closing ceremony??

Angie said...

Hi Karen, I'm having leftover roast beef with carrots and potatoes and onions, now mixed together as a stew. And something alcoholic.

You know, I feel kinda like AP is famous now. I mean, this time AP's the famous blogger that somebody is breathlessly clicking "refresh" for, looking for something to criticize and post about. Isn't that cool?

I want an autograph, AP. That is, if you can take time out from bashing Jews, hating your husband, and not having a life, to give me one.

suz said...

GM's dog blog is at her site. I think Kristin said the dogs name is Newman.

suz said...

Karen, I did not think you were calling me a no life, although my life is pretty low key.
Where is the lyric site?

Robin in Montana said...

Huh. Well, it *is a cute dog.

kristin said...

I really don't know...but she had a post all about the damn dogs vet visit.

Yes, it is on her site - in the blog 2/22.

This is her latest on Newman's blog:

My mom was looking for something this morning on Pioneer Woman's website and found a photography assignment she could participate in. Doggie Pictures!

I'm THERE! Me, a furball! In a famous blogger's contest! I saw some of the other photo entries and I think I'm CUTE! I hope she (Miss Woman) likes me.

If not, back to being a dog. Uber ARF!

ummm....okay...issues much? Poor dog!

Karen said...

http://lyricstoasong.blogspot.com/

Suz glad you didn't think I was calling you a no life!!

SW that sounds good - I have some country style ribs that i want to cook in my crock pot tomorrow - I hope they turn out good - I made a roast last weekend in it and it was sooo good - i could eat that seiously once a week at least!

Karen said...

Kristin - what is GM's site? the one I have doesn't go anywhere...

Yea - call us low life no life and then write from your dog's point of view on your own blog, um, ya -issues much is right!!

kristin said...

thegrammiediaries.com

ya know by doing this, we are feeding her! She is loving it!

just sayin!

Please pass the duct/duck tape!

Karen said...

true - she has enough in her own little mind to feed the lyrics blog - we don't need to feed her more - and don't need to send traffic to her blog - although she is sending traffic here!

holy cow its cold outside!!!! and windy!!!

Lindsay said...

Hi guys. I heart my husband. I really typed wrong when I said I told him he was a real big dick? I meant he has a really big dick. And I use it a lot. And I like it.

kristin said...

OMFG - you have me cracking up laughing Lindsay! THAT IS AWESOME! that is all I have to say :) Priceless!

Shannon said...

Very right Kristin....guys just wave a hello at her and know that we are very important and obviously are a big part of her life.

Angie said...

LOL Lindsay!

Karen said...

I'm off to make a lot of noise and wake patti up so we can order pizza!!

LOL Lindsay!!!

I'll be back later!

Shannon said...

HAHAHAHA Lindsay maybe that is why he didnt want to talk about it at work :)

Lindsay said...

Yeah, I'm done bragging on him now. I just thought I should clarify my earlier comments so you understand just *how lucky I am. Why do you think we have 4 kids????

Robin in Montana said...

Lindsay -- you have been on a roll today. lol. You should be proud of your worship! ::nod::

kristin said...

alright ladies! I am off, I will see ya in a bit - need to find my Daisy Dealer first :)

Have a good evening and try to behave!

Robin in Montana said...

I'm still a little too scarred from AP's cos tongue blog post to really want to think about big dicks.

Robin in Montana said...

cos = cow. See? I'm rattled.

Lindsay said...

Oh, yeah. God & I are tight.

PJ said...

Hey ladies,
I sent GM an e-mail when the Carole King post went up. I mentioned that the name of the artist perhaps suggested that CK (that would be me) had written those e-mails that were c/p there.

Asked her if she might clarify that on the post.

She said she sold the blog. I then responded asking if she could forward my e-mail to the owner. FYI.

PJ said...

All this pizza talk - hub and I are having deep dish tonight. I'll pick it up on the way home. I just have to decide where to get it - Green Mill, probably.

PJ said...

I didn't share the above info about the GM e-mail because I believe it's true (or not). Who could know in this crazy world of alias', secret agents, undercover spys? Just an FYI.

Anonymous said...

I'm not saying much about this here...but how do you sell a blogspot.com blog?

She does not own her own domain on the Lyrics site.

I call bullshit...after all, she is a thief...so what's a little lie?

PJ said...

Headline on Star Tribune website:
"Someone broke into a Washington County garage and stole more than 400 boxes of Thin Mints, Samoas and Tagalongs."

It must have been the local gang of Carb Addicts.

PJ said...

If she actually managed to get money from somebody for the blog, well, she's a shrewd business woman.

Anonymous said...

The Cookie Posse strikes again, CK, LOL!

PJ said...

If she did "sell" it, it's certainly "interesting" that the e-mails c/p there were to GM. (cough cough)

Somebody must be stealing her mail?

PJ said...

Bella,
No looking in my trunk.

Lindsay said...

Alright ladies - hope you all have a great afternoon and evening and enjoy your pizzas :)

kristin said...

okay - i didn't leave b/c boss lady is leaving monday and doesn't want to come into the office on monday to do payroll.

Lindsay said...

And apparently your girl scout cookies for dessert!

PJ said...

Latest and greatest topic on Moms Like Me:

"Refrigerating Leftovers"

I kid you not.

kristin said...

very true CK - about e-mails...I have something to add but want to finish and then I'll tell :)

leaving you in suspense so you come back for more...ya like that?

Robin in Montana said...

CK -- LOL. Well, what *is the secret to refrigerating leftovers?

Shannon said...

Kristin are you pulling a JM? LOL

Shannon said...

I really hate left overs......is that a normal thing or do most people not like left overs.

PJ said...

Shannon,
I love them for lunch the next day. Better than a frozen meal or sandwich. Other than that, not much, unless it's spaghetti sauce, soup or chili, which is usually better a day or two later.

kristin said...

Maybe she sold it to the dog?

PJ said...

My whole body aches. I just thought it would be my hip and elbow, after my graceful slip and slide under the 4 Runner yesterday.

Shannon said...

Oh damn CK that sucks....Why is it that as you get older falling hurts more and lasts longer.

Are you pretty colors yet?

kristin said...

Well I figured out the "wording" of one of the e-mails and asked this person about it. She confirmed it was indeed an e-mail she sent to GM after OHIH imploded.

hmmmmm....coincidence?

kristin said...

alright ladies, now I'm leaving!

PJ said...

Shannon - no pretty colors yet - perhaps the rainbow will be seen tomorrow.

Of course I'll be fine - I just feel even older than I am.

PJ said...

Bye Kristin! See ya.

Robin in Montana said...

CK - SOrry you're feeling ache-y!

Shannon - I love leftovers. Breakfast most days is whatever we had for dinner the night before and Kelly almost always takes leftovers in his lunch. Some things, obviously, don't keep well, but most stuff.

PJ said...

Lindsay - shhhh....

If I share some with you, will you keep the location of the missing cookies to yourself?

PJ said...

Shannon - what's on the menu at your house for supper tonight?

PJ said...

Another on Mom's Like Me

"Is your pet getting in the way?"

Somebody should start the equivalent related to JM and RV.

"Are your kids getting in the way?"

Shannon said...

I am not sure what we are having for dinner. We are going to friends house so they get to cook...I am sure something fried though LOL

Shannon said...

Kristin you make me say HMMMMMM

Hoping you get good LM today from daycare :)

Angie said...

I wish the cookie posse would bring me some samoas, and those peanut butter sandwich cookies. Yum.

I love leftovers, Shannon. I rarely have them because I don't cook much -- pretty much only cook for company. So when I have leftovers in the fridge, it makes me really happy.

Shannon said...

I am one of the odd ones then with my dislike of left overs :) Oh well.

What is going to be really interesting is when Josh and I move out and there are no more kidlets....how will I be able to only cook for 2?

Shannon said...

So I just had a super funny on my blog. I got a comment about my farwell to SIPS post from an anon poster who pointed out to me that WON is not the right spelling it should be ONE....Made me laugh because this 'anon' poster was tracked by the little widget thing I have on there....It was a girl I made fun of on BF for posting angry stuffs and telling people they were WAISTING space.

I know it may not be that funny but I sure think it is :)

PJ said...

I think that is pretty funny, Shannon.

PJ said...

Shannon - I went to read - but it wasn't there - is it that bad?

Shannon said...

Nah it isnt that bad....LOL I will go ahead and publish it since anyone who knows anything at all will find real humor in it :)

kristin said...

i went to look to and didn't see it.

PJ said...

I'm laughing even harder Shannon. She spelled "spelt" incorrectly.

How could that not be done on purpose?

kristin said...

I was going to say that too CK!

spelt! LMAO

PJ said...

If you go to her blog, she spells well. What a dweeb.

PJ said...

Spelt, schmelt...

Lindsay said...

Isn't spelt some type of grain?

kristin said...

Lindsay - I googled it and yes it is.

PJ said...

There there is smelt - a fish.

Lindsay said...

Ha! Ha! I have some useless knowledge floating around in my brain.

And smelt. I lived in a town where they had an annual smelt derby. Quite a yucky looking fish.
