Congrats FT - to your B and SIL too!

Oh, where to start catching up.....

Nilia said...

Thanks, CK! Shortround had low blood sugar so he's not home yet. :0(

Muliebrity said...

Was you SIL diabetic, FT?

Lisa said...

Hi, CK!

FT, just rinse your chicken legs off and sprinkle some salt and pepper on them. Dump them in the crockpot and dump maybe half a bottle of BBQ sauce on them. Whatever looks good to you. Let them go on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6 or so. That's it! If you want to get fancy, put cut up potatoes in the bottom of the crockpot first, season them then put the chicken legs and BBQ sauce in. The potatoes are so good since they cook in chicken juices and sauce. You can't mess it up!

Jeanette, pack up the kids and come on over. We'll have plenty. :-)

Angie said...

Awwww, how sweet is Shortround Steve, FT? So cute!

I have to object to the post, though, on the grounds that THIS IS A HATE SITE PEOPLE! Get yer hate on already!

Nilia said...

Mulie: not pre-pregnancy, but she did develop borderline gestational diabetes which she was able to control with diet. Her blood sugar post-delivery was high but is now in normal range.

Lisa said...

SW, should I photoshop a gang tattoo on Shortround Steve?

Angie said...

AP, at the very least. Jeez.

PJ said...

Before I go back to read - is Shannon really banned from BF as it appeared last night? Was JM just lying last night that she hadn't been?

Nilia said...

Sorry guys, didn't mean to soften up you tough broads but Softround is 8 lbs of yummy and I miss him today.

I am working on report cards all day today in case my SIL needs me to be with her all day tomorrow (tomorrow is no school for report card prep). My brother had 2 weeks off and the darned baby was late and he HAS to go back in to work tomorrow, he's already booked a trial to start tomorrow and he can't change it. He is so torn, I'm just doing what I can. SILs family is in from out of town too.

Nilia said...

whoops, mean Shortround.

Anonymous said...

Awww, He's a cutie! Can't hate on a baby!

I almost forgot to say hi to ~Jeanette~

PJ said...

A combination of Shortbread and Round Roast.

Angie said...

Hiya Christy, and ~LOL~

PJ said...

One more question - what's the crap from "Kim" about having been on SIP?

PJ said...

Hi AP, Christy, SW, M.

I know, old news, but I'm behind.

Jeanette said...

I'm on my way AP!

Mulie, from the last thread... I knew I recognized your avatar, but wasn't sure if it was from OHIH or the BF. Either way, glad you're here now!

Jeanette said...

My eyes are crossing again. I can't believe ~ doesn't bother yall like it does me. Between GM, Tina, and Seesee, I hate that damn symbol!

And Kim is Bri, CK. And she is a lying hag.

Nilia said...

SW: I googled chuck roast so I could see a picture to maybe pick one up later (I usually get my meat from a butcher in Toronto so I'd need a visual to go to a market here), and here's what I found:

"Not diet friendly, the chuck roast contains more fat than many of its beefy relatives."

Thanks, SW. I will try to pick it up today to make for tomorrow,I am going to try the chicken today I think, and will let you know how it goes.

Anonymous said...

I have seen some interesting things since being a part of these chat sites. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Kim at BF isn't GM but someone else we all know that has a grudge.

PJ said...

Christy - interesting....I thought the same thing.

Anonymous said...

The fat is what makes it so tasty FT!

Anonymous said...

Hi CK!

PJ said...

Christy - it seemed like a slip to me. From someone who doesn't know how to edit their posts on BF.

Muliebrity said...

What is SIP? I not smart.

Angie said...

Yes, the fat is the key, FT. Chuck roasts are ideal for slow cooking because the fat breaks down and makes the meat soooo tender and juicy.

Angie said...

"What is SIP? I not smart."

This made me LOL. SIP stands for Sans Insanity Please, and it's a private blog that was started by an individual after OHIH imploded.

Jeanette said...

Wait, what seemed like a slip CK? Did I miss something?

The reason I believe it to be GM is because she called Shannon garbage, which GM has a history of doing. I could be wrong, it's bound to happen eventually.

Nilia said...

Mulie: SIP is Sans Insanity Please, set up after OHIH imploded. It was private by invite only. It had rules and many of us were banned for breaking (or thought to have broken) one or more of these rules.

My name is FrenchTeacher, and I was banned from SIP.

PJ said...

The "slip" I'm referring to is a comment by Kim on BF that she'd been on SIP.

GM was not on SIP.

Somebody there who might be gunning for Shannon too.

And, by the way, it's been renamed WIP (With insanity please)

PJ said...

SIP rules were a moving target, subject to the whim of the moderator there.

Who claimed it was okay to disagree, which no one did.

We then learned there was an unwritten rule that it was okay to disagree, as long as you didn't disagree with her.

Angie said...

"And, by the way, it's been renamed WIP (With insanity please)"

:-X

::thanking Jesus for duct tape::

Lisa said...

"It wouldn't surprise me at all if Kim at BF isn't GM but someone else we all know that has a grudge."

I agree, Christy. I suppose one way it'll be known is if stuff from SIP starts getting posted.

Anonymous said...

There are several suspects IMO. Those that jump on bandwagons without much thought.

Jeanette said...

I think she made the comment about being on SIPS on purpose to not only make us think it was someone else, but also to try and get under my skin. She doesn't know me very well obviously if she thinks I give a shit whether I was talked about there or not.

Gothic ʚϊɞ said...

My first post here, just have to say OMG that baby is freaking adorable!
Lots of names I recognize in here so hey all, guess I don't need to do much of an intro. My mouth will probably already have preceded me ;)

Anonymous said...

Jeanette, you probably were in the beginning, but not enough to make an impression. I don't remember it much past the first week or so in trying to decide who was safe to invite.

Hey GB!

laura said...

FT

Beautiful little babe. When do they think that he will be able to go home? It is so kind of you to spend the day tomorrow if needed. I have no family near and I know how much it would mean to me to have some help. Hope that the contractors are finished and that life is treating you well.

Lisa said...

GothicBttrfly, I am very happy to see you here! Anther old friend joins us. :-)

Angie said...

Hi GB, and welcome! Don't let that adorable baby fool you. We're a bunch of no life, lowlife haters!

Hi Laura!

Angie said...

See what you did, AP? You put a cute baby pic up and now all these nice folks are going to stop by thinking we're all nice and shit. But we're badasses, dammit!

::fumes::

Angie said...

I suppose I shouldn't worry though. If history is our guide, AP will surely put up some whacked out creepy video soon and restore the universe to its proper order.

Anonymous said...

Dinner: Ribeyes on the grill and garlic marinated asparagus.

I'm watching hockey and cleaning in between :)

Anonymous said...

FT- Sorry about the assignement. That sucks :(

Shortround Steve is so, so cute! :-)

Hi Christy, Laura, CK and anyone I've missed!

Lisa said...

"See what you did, AP? You put a cute baby pic up and now all these nice folks are going to stop by thinking we're all nice and shit. But we're badasses, dammit!"

And I'd have not done it if Shortround up there was Jewish. *snickers*

Gothic ʚϊɞ said...

AP long time no "see" lol, I think I may have found myself a new home. I have the feeling you guys are gonna be hearing from me quite a bit.
Waiting on a creepy video now...

Lisa said...

Bella, how do you do the garlic marinated asparagus?

Anonymous said...

AP, I take a ziploc bag and put asparagus, olive oil, minced garlic, and garlic powder in it an get everything coated. Let it sit in the fridge for a couple hours, and then cook it directly on the grill. The oil will make it flame up some, but I like a bit of char on asparagus.

It's almost 40 degrees here...we are wearing sweatshirts only and grilling outside :D

laura said...

I'm reading along laughing and wishing that Shannon would come to the south to share her deep fried goodness. She would never be banned in my world. Love it when she speaks the truth.

Lisa said...

GB, I think I cemented my video reputation with Rubber Johnny. Ah, well. In case you don't know, one requirement here is that you snort daisies then scroll up and down quickly, watching the background. Once you do that, you can post all you like. :-D

Angie said...

Charred asparagus is goooood. Bella, keep us updated on the hockey game. Is it called a "game" even? I'm a hockey ignoramus. Go USA!

Lisa said...

Bella, thanks! That sounds so good and I've got a bunch in the crisper. I think I'll do that tomorrow, but I'm no grillist so I'll do them on a griddle, maybe.

Nilia said...

Hi Laura! Yes renos are finished but still waiting for contractor to come by and explain 2 problems I am having trouble with, just bad work I think but I have not paid him the balance since his work is not done.

Down the hall from my SIL was another mom with twin boys, turns out SIL and that mom had a friend in common, who was there last night to help overnight with the twins. I don't even know the twins' mom and I would've loved to have stayed overnight to help with the twins, I just love babies.

Anonymous said...

Canada is up 1-0.

::side-eyes FT and Corinne::

Nilia said...

Hi GB, glad to see you again!

Anonymous said...

FT, you should go back to school and be a labor and delivery nurse! Then you could be around babies all day, and go home and get a full night's sleep. Win-win :)

Angie said...

I thought Corinne has committed to remaining neutral in this hockey match. Is it called a match?

PJ said...

BD - I am always jealous over what you're cooking for dinner.

Hi Corinne by brilliant Belgian daughter! My flight to Brussels leaves tonight.

Nilia said...

::avoids Bella's "side-eyes" and whistles some tune or other::

Anonymous said...

Corinne is using her voodoo to sway the game.

PJ said...

All caught up - thanks everyone for the help.

I can see both possibilities - "Kim" putting a reference to SIP to chap Jeanette's hide or as a red herring, OR "Kim" being somebody else who has issues with the truth.

Anonymous said...

In other bizarre blog world news, the under1000 a month lady has disabled her blog.

Anonymous said...

SW- I'm watching Desperate Housewives right now. No voodoo, as I promised.

I've never watched a hockey game before. Gonna watch in a few minutes!

CK- I'm waiting for you ;-)

Nilia said...

Bella: I saw that. So strange...

Anonymous said...

Bella- That is bizarre!
Lately, I've been feeling like it was a scam. I think CPS would have taken the children away long ago, had it been the real thing.

Nilia said...

Game or match, not sure...

Match: Sports.
a.a game or contest in which two or more contestants or teams oppose each other: a soccer match.
b.a contest consisting of a specific number of sets: a tennis match.

Game: a competitive activity involving skill, chance, or endurance on the part of two or more persons who play according to a set of rules, usually for their own amusement or for that of spectators. a single occasion of such an activity, or a definite portion of one: the final game of the season; a rubber of three games at bridge.

I guess match seems more accurate, I dunno. Never thought of it. I use both, but I think I used match earlier today.

Nilia said...

Bella: re: labour and delivery nurse

Ah yes but you have forgotten about my needle phobia. I'd make a helluva nurse... Love the baby cuddling part though...

Anonymous said...

I don't know if it IS a scam, Corinne. There is a girl on another forum that lives near under1000 lady, and shops at the walmart, and has seen her husband working there. Her husband also has a blog and a facebook page, as well.

It seems like a lot to keep up if it was a scam. I honestly hope that CPS got involved.

PJ said...

FT - don't you have a vomit phobia too? I was lucky enough to get to catch my friends' vomit in a bed pan multiple times during her first labor and delivery.

PJ said...

At the risk of being banned, for FT I'm rooting for Canada.
And I love your national anthem.

Muliebrity said...

I feel sorry for that girl if CPS did step in (as in take her kids away). She was doing her best, just a bit misguided.

Angie said...

Wait? What CK? You're lucky W isn't still in office! You'd be more than banned for that. You'd be in freaking Gitmo!

Nilia said...

CK: not a phobia I don't think exactly, more like serious avoidance. I don't think I'd pass out, just probably vomit too. I puked after I delivered my first too, I think it was a combination of the epidural and oxycontin (sp?). Luckily I had *just enough time to pass him to my husband.

My phobias cause me to become lightheaded and nauseous and like I might pass out. I will pass out if I have to have blood drawn from any position but lying down. And I feel nauseous if for example as has been the case a few times, I'll be at the Dollar Store picking up something and the staff will be inflating balloons at that instant, like right behind the cash register where I am held hostage since I am waiting to pay. I feel flushed even thinking about it.

Nilia said...

CK: thank you and thank you. If you are banned, we will start a new blog. ODISTWOP*

*Oopsie Daisy I Said That Without Pity

Anonymous said...

Bella- You might be right. Maybe CPS got involved... Hmmm.

PJ said...

rantofdan.blogspot.com is still up

(Emily's husband Dan, if you believe it's not all a scam).

Angie said...

"Oopsie Daisy I Said That Without Pity"

Pretty sure GM already owns that one... Maybe she'll sell it to you, CK.

Nilia said...

I haven't made any comments I don't think on the Under $1000 site, but I seriously think that is beyond misguided. That just looks like negligence to me. That whole situation is just dangerous from what I can see, and I believe she needs professional intervention.

Nilia said...

God I have GOT to do report cards. Maybe I'll just fail them all. Nah, too much paperwork.

Anonymous said...

One of the main topic on the news here, today:

"Pathetic results at the Olympic games for the Belgian team."

No kidding?! What a shock!

LOL. We suck. I'm ashamed to say I'm Belgian when the topic of sports comes up!

Nilia said...

Bella: I'm sorry that my team's better than your team.

Anonymous said...

Canada is 2-0 now.

Anonymous said...

I have deduced that Canadians love Rush and shitty house music...

Nilia said...

Bella: It's still not too late to switch sides...

::off to look for something Canadian to eat::

Nilia said...

Bella: LOL!

Angie said...

Well, we could look at the bright side and realize that hockey is pretty much *all Canada's got. (Other than government-provided healthcare, that is.) So we could let them have it, with grace.

But if we're going to resort to fisticuffs, my money's on Bella. She's a badass, truly.

Kathleen said...

Oh Shortround! How adorable you are! How you make my ovaries sing the song of a sibling for Miles!

Kathleen said...

HI ladies.
How's thangs?

Shannon said...

Damn I leave to go do some house stuff....like overspending on groceries and this place blew up again :)

I have yet to try to see if I can post on BF because of the fact that I really dont want to see people like Kim and Spencer and Minette starting shit all over again. It isnt so much that I really care if they attack me but seriously 99% of those gals over there really dont need to have that drama all brought up there.

Nilia said...

We have Arctic oil too. Right? Right? Oh sure nobody wanted that chunk of ice before but now all of a sudden everyone's laying claim to it...

Game's getting rough, I'm having trouble watching it.

Nilia said...

SW: That's not true! We have Celine Dion and Avril Lavigne!

Hi Kathleen! I know, Shortround's giving me some serious baby fever...

Shannon said...

Hi Kathleen....

FT that baby is too damn adorable why arent you with him??? LOL Nevermind I know because you are supposed to be doing report cards but instead are here with us :)

Anonymous said...

Hockey is pretty nice to watch!

Angie said...

Celine Dion? That's the best you can do? You REALLY need your hockey then!
::shudder::

Nilia said...

Hi Shannon. I would LOVE to be with Shortround but am *trying to get some report cards done. Tomorrow is no school for report card prep so if I get some work in today I can help my SIL tomorrow if she needs me. I miss Shortround but will see him tomorrow I hope, either way. My brother just texted me and they should know by 5 whether they're staying another night or not.

Nilia said...

Fuckity fuck fuck fuck.

Anonymous said...

It's continuous and fast paced, and fighting is allowed. Three great things about hockey!

Nilia said...

2-1, Damn!

Anonymous said...

Hold on, the Eagle of Freedom just dropped a puck in Canada's net, LOL!

Nilia said...

SW: We also have poutine and maple syrup and Canadian bacon and ::crying into my Molson::

Nilia said...

and a stable banking system and "free" medical care on demand and stable weather patterns...

Anonymous said...

Bella- Exactly! The fighting allowed rule is pretty cool!

FT- Here's to hoping they get to go home today!
Also, I wanted to let you know that I'm kidnapping him, 'cause he's so cute and all :P

Anonymous said...

You got me on the government health care, FT....that and Canadian bacon.

Anonymous said...

I'm off for a tad. BBL! :)

PJ said...

Don't like Celine. Don't like Canadian Bacon. Like Moosehead. Like FT. Loved the opening ceremonies - esp the respect given to the First Nations and Aboriginals.

Shannon said...

well waddaya know I was able to post on BF....hopefully my cowardly friends will follow my advice and either come here to confront me, go to my blog to confront me, or better yet email me!!!!

FT, Corinne, Bella? Are you all going to remain friends regardless of this hockey game?

Shannon said...

I agree with ya on Canadian Bacon....I prefer mine fatty and salty :)

Nilia said...

Shannon: and deep fried?

Nilia said...

Sure we'll still be friends, we lowlife haters need to stick together.

Nilia said...

United in Daisies we stand?

Okay, seriously out of here for a bit. Off to do some report cards and watch Canada bring home the gold.

::runs::

PJ said...

Shannon leads a charmed life. Or JM caved.

PJ said...

Gotta go too - I promised Corinne I would get a couple of hours of work done. She's helping me conquer my procrastination.

Anonymous said...

Shannon- Sure we'll still be friends. What matters in the end is that we are low lifes/no lifes, hate everything and everyone, are your bully buddies and have a slanderous tongue. It is what brings us together after all, right? :-D

Muliebrity said...

Shannon, If you weren't banned, then did your comments just get deleted? I read them and there were far worse comments left up and yours were just defending yourself.

Anonymous said...

Bye FT & CK! See you later, maybe? :)

Karen said...

Hey everone! Long time no talk! FT that baby is the most adorable thing ever!! I hope you get all your work done and he comes home and you can spend tomorrow starting your spoiling of him!!

I have so much to catch up reading but I'm jumping in - cause I am too lazy to read now... did I miss anything really really exciting?

My daughter and her step sister and their 2 kids and tay spent the night last night - I highlighted everyone's hair! and then did my own this morning. And got very very little sleep! And still have Tay who is sleeping again!! Wow... been a long day already and its not even 5 yet!!!

Shannon said...

LOL I am glad everyone will be friends even after the Hockey game :)

FT I love my fatty salty bacon fried :)

Mulie, Apparently if I wasnt banned I just got to have my comments deleted I dont really know. Just weird for sure.

Shannon said...

ROFLMAO

Karen you have missed a LOT :)

Karen said...

Shannon give me the 99 cent version!!! You're so good at breaking everything down and writing it out in 10 sentences or less... lets hear it!?

Shannon said...

Well where to start? So I am sure you already know about how some of us...including you have been mentioned and some even have posts just for us on Lyrics.

Well yesterday we were discussing Maria and her little blog and how sad it must be that she is so alone.....Well POOF there she is....of course she was threatening...ya know because of the slander we were spouting about things that are true and admitted by her even...go figure.

I have my own stalkers who yesterday/today have made it their mission to c&p everything I say here to BF and be as nasty as they can be over there.

Been a very interesting last 24 hours to say the least LOL

Shannon said...

Karen after everyone goes to bed you may want to go read up :)

Also Jeanette got to be called out by this same person we shall call her "Kim".....as did Muliebrity.....you are all my bully buddies apparently and from the way that this Kim was speaking you are all my sheeple MUHAHAHAHAHAHA

Karen said...

so GM was here on Daisy? spouting off shit? after she put her own brand of shit on the lyrics site? about us?

and you have haters on BF?

wow - I need to catch up!!

The girls were on the laptop off and on all night and I was pulling hair through highlight caps all night, then today I made yummy breakfast for the babies, then yummy breakfast for the adults, then cleaned it all up - gave a few baby baths and generally just played with them all til they left... Now Patti took my mom to go teach her how to put air in her own tires!! cause she doesn't want to depend on a man for that ever again!! Yay for my mom!! I am home and Tay is sleeping and Ang will be coming to get him soon, and this is my first time to sit and relax since yesterday at about 3!!! Sheesh!

Karen said...

KIM = GM = Maria?

We are sheeple???

So that makes you as big as the big MckMamma? Oh Shannon you must be SO proud!!!

Shannon said...

LOL see what happens when family gets in the way of your Daisy addiction :)

Karen said...

Holy crap! I haven't even sniffed a daisy in 24 hours - I did come on for a little bit last night - but apparently before all this started happening!! I have alot of catching up to do!!

I'm starving... random thought of mine!! So hungry right now and I have no plans to cook dinner, so I guess I should start hoping Patti comes home with something yummy!

Karen said...

Oh and I love that we have the adult content warning now - we're soooo badass in here! woot woot!

Shannon said...

You would certainly wonder with the way those people were going on...Thanks but no thanks...I dont want sheeple I would much rather have friends that will call me wrong when it needs to be done.

IDK it was really kinda creepy with how it all was going down. I really do believe that Kim is GM and that she is still pissed at me for calling her out a few times on HER community, on HER blog, on TINA'S blog, on BF....so I feel like she just lashed out all over the place for it. It was just weird.

Plus apparently we are all haters and no life/low lifes who hate jews and our husbands LOL

Karen said...

Shannon I'm going to try to start catching up but there are over 300 comments just on the last post and I haven't even read all of the one before that... I'm going to try to work my way backwards!!

I'd rather be your friend than your sheeple too Shannon - Sheeple don't have brains, and I'm pretty sure eveyrone here that comments has a brain, and their own thoughts!

I'll join you in being a low life/no life though - sounds like alot of fun!!!

Oh and Patti is half Jewish, and I don't have a husband - so pfffffffft to them!!!

Angie said...

Holy crap. It's tied 2-2.

Nilia said...

No-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

US ties with seconds to go!

No-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shannon said...

Karen see where everyone else is???? Watching hockey :)

Nilia said...

In the name of Shortround, we MUST win!

Angie said...

Sudden death, baby! Woohoooooo!!!!

Nilia said...

Not yet, SW, it'll be a full 20 minute overtime period.

Angie said...

I'm not watching, Shannon. Refreshing a liveblog on Sports Illustrated's website.

Shannon said...

AHHHAAAAA isnt that kinda the same thing SW? :)

Karen said...

Wow - sounds exciting... bet Patti is sorry she's missing it.

Shit.. (oopsie daisy did I say that??)

Tay is up - gotta go get him up til his momma comes to get him!

She had a date last night - can't wait to hear how it went... her first one since she had Tay...

Hope to be back later and catch up - after some food and Tay going home!!

Shannon said...

Oh I hope that she had an awesome time!!! She deserves to have some happy adult time :)

Angie said...

Kinda Shannon. Yup.

Karen, you have a neat life. You seem to have a lot of fun with your family.

Angie said...

My bad FT. The liveblog I'm refreshing called it "twenty minutes of sudden death." I know less than nothing about hockey, for sure.

U-S-A! U-S-A!

Nilia said...

SW: My bad! You are right, it is sudden death, oh my God.

Ca-na-da!!! Ca-na-da!!

Shannon said...

Now you have me watching since it is the end of the game and all exciting LOL

Nilia said...

See SW you know more than you think you do.

Nilia said...

I invoke the deliciousness that is Shortround Steve and all that is baby-goodness to win this game.

Anonymous said...

Just when I was ready to hit the hay, THAT happens!Hmph. Now, I have to stay up, I want to know who wins! :P

Nilia said...

My brother just texted me, Shortround Steve's been cleared to go home, yay!

Nilia said...

Corinne: as long as you're up, how's about a little voodoo??

Angie said...

"I invoke the deliciousness that is Shortround Steve and all that is baby-goodness to win this game."

Not. Fair. FT. I invoke all the hate the no life lowlife husband haters can muster to defeat our brothes in the North.

Shannon said...

YAY so even if Canada looses you are still a winner :)

Angie said...

Yay for Shortround!!

Nilia said...

Good will overcome evil, SW. Always.

And you forgot Jew-haters.

Shannon said...

Or should I as a loyal American say WHEN they loose not IF they loose.

Angie said...

I don't think invoking Jew hate is a good idea, karmically. ::shaking head::

Nilia said...

Shannon: Yes! I am going to get through these report cards if it kills me so that I can hold my sweet baby tomorrow. Yesterday at the hospital (obviously, haha) Shortround was screaming up a storm and I took him and he settled against me and promptly fell asleep. Now YOU may say I am just boring, but I'd like to think that I am all things comfort.

Anonymous said...

FT- That is such great news! Yay!

And, I promised SW no voodoo. I will keep that promise ;-) But I'm supporting Canada because the US is already ahead in the medal count...

Nilia said...

Shannon: are you saying that Americans are loose, LOL!

Oh no, I'm turning into Kristin.

::looks around nervously::

Angie said...

Canada has more golds than we do Corinne. Hmph.

Nilia said...

Corinne: yes, but not in GOLD medals, hee hee!

Nilia said...

Was it, was it, was it............

HOLY SHIT IT WAS!!!!!!!!!

And a perfect day!

Shannon said...

Well............um sometimes :)

Nilia said...

I shake hands with all my loose American sisters.

Good game.

Angie said...

From the SI.com liveblog (which I'm sure is completely objective): "Completely different energies on the two benches. Canada looks tense; the Americans look loose and confident."

Angie said...

Frak! Is it over? Did we lose? Asshole Canadians!

Nilia said...

See, Shannon called it: loose!

Lisa said...

"I don't think invoking Jew hate is a good idea, karmically. ::shaking head::"

If's okay if they're from the NYC area. God will understand. So, who won? Do we know yet?

And ysy for Shortround Steve - that's wonderful news, FT!

Nilia said...

::refuses to shake hands with SW::

Angie said...

FT seems to think Team Canada won, AP. I'm waiting for confirmation.

Lisa said...

Ooooh, so they won, eh?
Did anyone fall or get teeth knocked out or anything?

Anonymous said...

Yay! Canada won!

SW- I did not use voodoo. I swear (and I do)!

Nilia said...

I feel bad for the American team. They look so sad. I hate this part.

Shannon said...

LOL you gals are crazy and apparently the commentator called it and I was not misspeaking when I said loose :)

Angie said...

"I feel bad for the American team. They look so sad. I hate this part."

You should feel especially sorry since they don't even have any gov't health care to help nurse their wounds.

Nilia said...

Now if only these report cards would do themselves, this day would be PERFECT.

Angie said...

"SW - I did not use voodoo. I swear (and I do)!"

I don't know, Corinne. I'm suspicious.

Anonymous said...

I don't like that part either.

We can all agree that it was a good game :-)

Nilia said...

It's okay, SW, they're still on Canadian soil. If they present to the hospitals as indigenous, they have to be treated and cannot be turned away.

Muliebrity said...

Doh, Canada....

SW- I swear, I swear, I didn't use my powers!

Remember that I helped Lysacek beat Plushenko when no one thought he'd win?
I wouldn't hurt you! ;-)

I guess Shortround will now be named: Sidney!

Nilia said...

Crosby is so cute, he doesn't even remember how he put that puck in, LOL!

Nilia said...

Haha Mulie, here is my brother's text in response to my texting him about the win which I thought he didn't know, I will retype misspellings and all, I just got it after I posted:

The nurses let me watch it on TV. Crosby is now clearly a Canadian legend. Bet you $20 that Sidney will be the #1 boys name is Canada in 2010 (although not my boy).

"It's okay, SW, they're still on Canadian soil. If they present to the hospitals as indigenous, they have to be treated and cannot be turned away."

Sigh. Free health care. No gun violence. Celine Dion. Got a spare bedroom, FT? I'm moving north!

FT, Your brother is no fun! Where is his national spirit?

Nilia said...

Why yes, SW, yes I do. Just finished some renos adding a bedroom, in fact.

Oh, AND I just bought a new crockpot which I will promptly put you in charge of.

You're welcome.

FT- Maybe they'll name him Crosby, then? ;-)

Nilia said...

Nope and nope. Their shortlist of boys names all came from the Old Testament, actually. Not because they're particularly religious.

FT- Hmmm... Samuel? Isaac? Benjamin? Jacob?

<---- is obsessed with names :P

Nilia said...

Mulie: my brother and his wife can't even whittle down a short list of what is now 2 names! They don't dare bring another name into consideration, LOL!

Nilia said...

Ooh Corinne, you're good. You got one up there.

Nilia said...

The name for my oldest was Old Testament too, again not because I made that it was going to be a rule or anything, I just really like the OT names esp for boys. My second son got a modified family name.

I may be having the same problem with my baby girl. I just knew my boys' names! I thought I knew my girl's name, but hubby does not agree!

Holy batshit fucktards, ladies. Just sorta caught up, what the fuck is up with ol' GM? There is one twisted bitch eh? Why post all that name naming shit on her blog? (though i must admit the 45 seconds I watched of the won/noah video was fairly interesting)

I especially like how she keeps putting everyones first and last names, like is that a threat? An I know stuff bout you type thing? The only time my name is scary is when my momma says my first and middle names in *that* tone...

Man I always miss all the cool shit...

and as a Heinz 57 breed/person, with an official Jew nose, I can give you all a pass on the Jew hatin'.

Personally, I like Old Testament names too. And not because I'm super religious either (though I do believe in God).

FT, I love your oldest son's name. Really.

If I would have had a girl she would have been Lilah Emily after my 2 grandmothers (Eulalia, and Emilia). But I like other cute little girl names like Molly, Abigail, Sofia.

Nilia said...

Kathleen: no kidding, eh?

And this Gentile thanks you.

My favorite names are:

For boys:

Magnus, Jude, Elias, Isaac and Callum

For girls:
Georgia, Annabel, Phoebe, Madeline and Cora

FT- I have a friend named Eulalie!

Corinne: No kidding! Apart from my grandmother who I lost while still in highschool, I don't know of anyone else (including in her hometown) with that name. I think it's lovely. My mother's name is Constance (well that's the English version of it).

::Raising a Molson to my Canadian friend FT:::

Great game!

If I ever get to have a girl baby I want to name her Iris Madeline. Or Iris Caroline. The Iris has the same i sound as Miles does and he has an old fashioned middle name too.
