Kristin- I've heard you mention that you like snacking on an edamame before but never found out what it was. What is it? I've heard several people mention them before.

I usually get bored watching but this one has really held my interest. I like the water/earth theme too.

Commercial...time to refill the Bloody Mary. Beverage anyone?

kristin said...

Sure...hook me up, but you have something besides Bloody Mary?

Tee -they are soybeans. I boil them, dump off the water, add some salt and eat 'em. Yummy!

Miller Lite, Rum & Coke, Sour Apple Martini, Chocolate Martini....not that I drink much. lol

kristin said...

I'll pass on the Miller, I'm a bud girl...but mmmm....chocolate martini! Any other night I'd say rum and coke. I think I like you :)

Tee - Bryan Adams...hmmmm...soft rock, pop rock? He was popular back in the 80's.

kristin said...

AP must have had a hot date or something tonight.

I was all excited that I got my internet and she isn't even here to celebrate!

Anonymous said...

I'm a Bud girl too. Miller's leftover from a party. I would sure hate to see it go to waste. lol My husband can't drink beer. He's allergic to the hops in it.

So my little man is really adorable.

Today as i was putting him in the car, he looks at me and says "mommy, I love you so much!"...he usually only says "I love you" if I say it first. Nope, all by himself today. It melted my heart!

He is too darn cute.

kristin said...

Sandy, that sucks...I guess more for you :)

Yeah, I actually hated beer. I tried to like it, really wanted to go to ball games and be able to drink one but I never could. Then in college (not to long ago) I worked for Bud, and they released the Bud Select - I was hooked!

Hey, Tee, I don't mind. I know I'm in the minority, but I decided that *I was wasting too much time watching tv several years ago. We do watch the occasional show on Hulu and watch movies, but not anything regularly. I know...I'm weird.

Anonymous said...

Kristin that is so cute. Wait until he says he wants to marry you. Mine just did and melted my heart. He's 4 with a very old soul.

kristin said...

Too cute Sandy!

Yes, LM is very kind. He told my sister the other day when it was raining.."be careful"...it was awesome! He is 3.

What part of Illinois are you in? I have family in Chicago.

Anonymous said...

That is really cute Kristin.

Sandy, I couldn't find your email address, but wanted to share something with you that helped our quirky son a lot.

PJ said...

Not liking the white suit on K.D. Lang. But she can sing.

Anonymous said...

Christy, it's SandyWoeltje@gmail.com

Kristin, I'm south of Chicago.

kristin said...

true dat! True dat CK!

Oh, and LM is also fond of telling me "you not my friend!" so i get the best of both!

kristin said...

I really wish I was good at a sport, or wish I would have stuck with something, like swimming. When I was 16 I had to quit all sports and work. I played softball and swam. I had been swimming since I was 6, all the way until 16.

Things like this or being at a football game really makes me miss that competitiveness but also the connection you have with your teammates.

Anonymous said...

I get that too! Then I pretend to cry and he say okay mommy I'll be your friend again.

kristin said...

Ahhh....they are in Chicago. Wacounda or similar. It's my aunt and uncle and 2 cousins.

Anonymous said...

My daughter is an awesome swimmer and was even invited to join a swim team. She doesn't want to do it though and I don't want to push her.

kristin said...

I haven't thought of that, I might try it.

He is a good manipulator though. I have started asking "do you want mommy to get mad?" and then he will hug me and say "you happy now?"

So are you ever in Chicago? Do you do coffee?

Anonymous said...

My life before children was spent in the city. I worked downtown for almost 13 years and loved it. The food, the shopping, the everything. And yes I have coffee. Many flavors of coffee. Well, mainly chocolate flavors of coffee.

kristin said...

Oh, I was going to say, if you do coffee...my aunt and uncle have started a coffee shop...and the more people that I get the word out to, the better the business...dontcha know:

take a look

uncommongroundsmchenry.com

Not sure where McHenry is in relation to you but take a look and if you are in the area, stop by!

kristin said...

That is so tragic about the luger. :(

Anonymous said...

I'm a coffee freak. I swear I have at least two pots of coffee a day. My husband's brother lives up that way. I will definitely take a look though.

Christy- I don't find that weird at all. On the contrary, it's really admirable. When I became Mennonite, I gave very serious thought and prayer to the techology that I use and the amount I use it. At first I watched almost no television. Now I'll admit to watching more of it because I'm more or less stuck at home 24/7 and until Mom lost her job three weeks ago, I was always home by myself. I would watch some television during the day, particularly re-runs of comedies on TBS. There are some current shows that I really enjoy and follow, some of which I have no business watching. (Desperate Housewives is a guilty pleasure.) SVU, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and 19 Kids and Counting are the ones that I really enjoy.

I'm always curious to hear the reasoning behind the choices that other people make in regards to the type of and amount of technology. As a society, we are far too dependant on it for entertainment and I am no exception.

Anonymous said...

Isn't that horrible.

kristin said...

Yes it is Sandy!

Christy - you are a brave soul! I so could not live without TV...okay, I probably could but I would have to live someplace else, something that was a bit more outdoor friendly. Then I so could live without TV! It just gets too damn hot down here or I would be outside all of the time!

Kristin- Aw, little man is so sweet! Gotta love that age... C-G just turned four. Mom drove the girls to the hospital when I was brought into the ER on Monday. On the way, C-G asked where they were going and Mom told her they were going to the hospital to see me. C-G then told her, "Oh, good. I'm glad because I love Tee Tee more than I love you." Mom let that one go since I was in the ER but dang... it's a good thing that kid's so cute. It's the only reason she's still breathing.

kristin said...

That is funny Tee!

Anyone happen to know where my keys are? I seem to have misplaced them.

hmmmmm.....

kristin said...

Never mind! Found 'em. Forgot I switched jackets when i went to the Verizon store...ooops!

Tee said...

Sandy- Two pots of coffee? Do you drink decaffeinated or do you bounce around like the energizer bunny all day? You'd get along well with my mother. She loves chocolate flavored coffee.

Kristin- Oh, soybeans! I remembered you listing them on your blog as one of your favorite snacks but never asked what they were. Is that something you can find in any grocery store or is it something you have to get at a specialty store?

Tee said...

I have not seen your keys. Promise.

Yes, I found it funny but I'm not sure Mom did! C-G cracks me up. She's such a funny little person.

kristin said...

Tee - they have them at the grocery store. They come in steam bags but I boil them. I use half the bag. Oh, and I get the ones that are still in the shell, they have shelled and unshelled.

Sucks that they are having problems at the end of the ceremony. :(

Anonymous said...

Tee no decaf here. I can drink coffe up until the time I go to bed. It doesn't bother me.

kristin said...

Sandy - after I had LM - and went back to work, I drank coffee like it was going out of style. The big boss at work drinks it all day and I just kept up with him. The last few months I pretty much stop after about 2:00 or so. I have had a few cups after since its been so cold lately and LM has been waking up so much in the middle of the night.

Anonymous said...

What happened Tee? I missed it. My little guy got up and is sitting with me. He's got a really bad stuffy nose.

kristin said...

Alright ladies, I'm going to bed. Its way passed my bedtime.

I think I should've made LM a doctors appt. :(

Well I'll talk to you later, it was nice talking to you and it was good to be on at the same time Tee!

::proudly states that there are more athletes on the USA team from Minnesota than any other state::

Sandy- Sorry, didn't mean to disappear for that long. What happened is that I'm a prideful idiot that decided to try and get into my sister's house on my own instead of waiting on my sister or mother to help me. I took a tumble, landed straight out but really hard. If I didn't have such serious spinal cord problems I would have been fine, just sore and banged up. My neck is really fragile though and just can't handle an injury like that. The only hospital in the area is a little community hospital but they took really good care of me. The doctor that was there is the one that took care of Sister when she went in with such severe mastitis a few months ago. He remembered her and took equally good care of me! I saw my doctor this morning and he scolded me for being such a prideful idiot. I just took it because he was right.

I really am okay, just additional pain. The worst of it was that my heart was not up to the added stress. That wound up being the only real problem from it. They had me laying pretty flat, which is not easy for me anymore. I was hooked up to a monitor just to be safe and I'm glad I was. I got some sudden and crushing chest pain and my sister started turning pale as the numbers on the monitor dropped and alarms went off. She hightailed it out of the room to fetch the nurse and as it turns out, she can still run pretty fast!

Tee said...

CK- Cool! Good to know!

Kristin- I really hope little man isn't up all night. It sounds like both of you could use a really good night's sleep. Does his office have emergency appointment's open on Saturday morning? A lot of the offices down here do. Maybe they'll have something open?

Sandy- I have to say that I've never even tasted coffee. I just don't like the way it smells so I have never bothered to try it. I know my mother had a heck of a time when she had to switch to decaf about 14 years or so back. I'm glad to hear it doesn't bother you. I don't find that I have a need for caffeine but I do drink Coke on occasion and find that it has a pick-me-up!

Tee said...

Okay, time for bed for me. See ya'll later!

Morning ladies!

LM Sleep Report???

kristin said...

Not so good. Spent half the night in bed with me. He crackles when he sleeps and this morning when he breathes, he is wheezing. He also is coughing but its not producing anything, its a dry cough.

His doctor opens at 9, so I will see if they can see him. If not, I will go to one of the redi-clinics at Walgreens or something.

No swim lessons today.
