Have some soup with a side of FYI...

I can't believe I'm posting a Guy FieTi video, as he gets on my very. last. nerve. but the fact is, this is some good soup!  It looks and sounds odd, but trust me, it's sooo good and with Fall around the corner, I thought I'd share.  The recipe I used will be below it.  :-)

I used this recipe:  http://www.keyingredient.com/recipes/150146/triple-d-cheeseburger-soup/ but I added some liquid smoke and also used canned evaporated milk instead of the half & half, since that's what I had on hand and didn't want to make a trip out. It worked just fine!  I served it with garlic toast but toasted hamburger buns with garlic butter and maybe a few pickle chips would be a cuter substitute.  So, there you go...a fun recipe to make when you're sick of the same ol' thing all the time.

Now, the FYI?  It's just a small one. This place is just dead, so this will probably be the last post here, at least for a long time, unless it somehow picks up.  If any of y'all want me to start a topic with something you want to discuss, email me and let me know at anemonepie at yahoo dot com.  Also, if any of y'all are hanging out someplace fun, please share so those of us who miss "chatting" with a variety of people can stop by and visit.  Thanks!  :-)

Sunday Morning's Gay Agenda. ;-)

This post is going to be a bit personal, but could also, hopefully, be entertaining if people will, you know,  *talk.  :-D

I managed to find myself engaged in an argument about gay people, Christianity and the Bible with a(n internet) friend on FB a couple of days ago.  Some of you may remember her and I'll not name her but won't stop anyone else from doing so, as there were witnesses to this debacle. Basically, it all began with a Chick Fil A comment and I was trying to explain how the Bible really, truly doesn't speak against homosexuality and that, in fact, same-sex marriage was recognize by the Christian church until around Roman times.  That didn't go over well with this person and her gaggle of Bible-thumping-without-really understanding-the-Bible friends and I found myself unfriended.  Lol, no loss on that, as I'd already realized, but what I also realized is that a lot of people don't really know their Bible, yet they love to toss Bible verses out as proof of their...ignorance. So, we're going to have a long, boring church sermon  today, but one with a gay agenda *eyebrow wiggle*. The nice part is, unlike real church where you're forced to sit and listen to the long-winded pastor, you don't have to click the links here if you don't want to.  But...but...if you find yourself with some free time, at least skim he Letter To Louise and Six Points.  It'll make God happy if you do.  Jesus, too.

Yeah, it's a stupid name. Just deal.

It's Sunday-ish...let's explore Deuteronomy 28.

It's disturbing, Deuteronomy 28 is...really, really disturbing.  It even wishes infidelity, cannibalism, STDs, fungus and hemorrhoids on you. Or if not you, then someone. I know a few people who ought to be pretty concerned over all this, though.  Here are some high (or low, I suppose) points worth sharing:

28:15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:

28:22 The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

28:27 The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

28:28 The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:

28:30 Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.

28:35 The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.

28:53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:

28:55 So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.

28:57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.

and then, just to add further insult to injury...

28:68 And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

Yikes. And people wonder why there's so much violence in the world. Imagine, for a moment, that Deuteronomy 28 was a video game or something...

Pastor Steve is going to teach us about Jesus again.

String, get the pantyhose ready and if y'all can't be gay then be sure to curse your parents, just to be defiant.  Or definite.  :-D

It's Sunday and whoa...there's a new post!

Instead of church, let's tie String up with her pantyhose and have a conversation about Evolution vs. Creationism, shall we?  *eyebrow wiggle*  Me?  I believe in both.

Alternately, we can talk about anything y'all like.  We aren't picky because God made us evolve into something reasonable like that. :-)

Psalm 37:21

Depending on which version of the Bible you have, there are many versions of this Psalm, each varying slightly.  Below are a few of the versions and you can see how, depending upon the wording, somewhat different interpretations can be had.  In light of all our McKinney excitement, I'm curious...Christianity, debt, bankruptcy...what do y'all think about it all? Any other Biblical quotes to point one way or another to share?

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
The wicked borrows and does not pay back, But the righteous is gracious and gives.

 King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

 American Standard Version
The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again; But the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.

 Douay-Rheims Bible
The sinner shall borrow, and not pay again; but the just sheweth mercy and shall give.

 World English Bible
The wicked borrow, and don't pay back, but the righteous give generously.

Happy Easter!

***Edited to add that I finally re-loaned our Kiva fund and was lucky enough to find 2 groups that just struck me as people we should help and both groups only needed one more loan to get them to their goal amount!  A two-fer of help...how cool is that?  :-)  So, down there to the right, I have the new information up so we can watch their progress!   Also, if anyone wants to help on their own, for a limited time Kiva is allowing existing members to offer an invitation to new members, and it includes $25 to lend!  You can sign up using this link:  Kiva - You're invited to Join Kiva  and just know I get nothing for this, nor does this blog. Kiva is doing it solely to get new lenders to join, so give it a shot and help someone out!***

If no one minds, I think we'll skip church again and go Easter hunting with Roobii.
