The strawberry muffins are pretty tasty! I substituted whole wheat flower for 75% of the flower and added milled flax seed, so they taste a *little* healthy.

I hate when my mother starts chatting with my on FB.

twirldawg said...

LMAO, that has RiM written all over it.

twirldawg said...

Mulie I just turn off the chat feature on FB.

Muliebrity said...

I usually just ignore her, but she sucked me in this morning.

Morning Ladies. I got nothing this morning.

Good morning :)

I always keep my chat off on FB. I hate it when people pop up to talk...don't you know I'm busy FB stalking? LOL.

How is everyone's Sunday so far?

Muliebrity said...

Besides my children taking over my bed, trying to choke each other while making strawberry muffins and my husband sleeping late *again*, GREAT!

Bella - Thank God I'm not alone! I *always my FB chat off. It bugs me when people want to talk to me and I'm actually busy reading their status. Hehe

Hi ladeeeez. What's up with everyone here?

Me?? Well I just gave my brother his 10am meds, and when ge took the sip of water to down them, he coughed....hard......and 2 lisinopril, 4 100mg of the white gabopentin gelcaps (which apparently start desintigrating fast), a multi vitamin, 2 colace, 2 10 mg baclafen, a vicoden, & a simvastatin....... went FLYING across the room.

Some landed on or around the foot of the bed. And some of them......are either under/behind the dresser or he coughed so hard, he spit them into the space time continuum. Personally I'm hoping for the latter.....because there is no WAY I can get my ass under, or behind, this dresser. Or move it.

He didn't want me to tell the story because he said y'all would make fun of him for "not being able to ::lecherous glance:: swallow"......

But I told him when he was the one picking singular grains of gabopentin out of the carpet, he could decide who to tell. Which is not really fair seeing as he isn't physically capable of it, but still.

I got new meds from the plastic shoebox where we keep them, and made him split them up this time. And immediately after he took the second batch, of course I started freaking, because what if the reason I can't find several pills is due to the fact that he did manage to swallow a few of them before starting to cough??

But he *swears he did not.

I think I see all but one of the missing pills under the dresser (got a flashlight). And the one I just cannot locate, it would probably even do him good to have an extra (one of the gabopentin) due tonall his posturing lately.

So that is what I'VE been up to the last half hour.

Mulie, you should rent out your hubs to mow lawns or something, and use the money to go to a HOTEL. You win the award for The Morning Which Has Sucked The Most. Even when picking up what amounted to grains of SAND out of very fuzzy carpet......I was not thinking of paring knives!!

Angie said...

Morning all! Elisabeth, who knew giving pills could be such an adventure, huh?

Mulie, your muffins sound delicious. Please don't hurt your husband.

I slept in this morning, then started getting the house ready for the HK tomorrow. Cooked two chicken breasts on my George Foreman to bring to work today and eat for lunch. So that's 2 down, 10 more to go, for those of you who may be keeping score.

Hubby is still breathing, for now.

Watched the first episode of Dr Who last night featuring the new Doctor, played by Matt Smith, and though I adore David Tennant, I actually liked the new guy.

I need some good dairy free recipes that I can freeze. Now that I am looking at another c-section, I need to be sure I have some on hand.

Mulie - I read your post about babygirl flipping back into breech position :( I'll send good vibes and hope she "changes her mind" ;-)

Hi SW & Elisabeth!

Muliebrity said...

I think she may have flipped down again! What the hell do I know though? I didn't realize she had flipped up!

*snicker* Chris can't swallow.

Morning all!

Mr. Tara and I had date night last night and it was so much fun. We went to dinner and went bowling. I pulled a muscle, but it was worth it!

Mama bird left her nest. :o( I don't know why. I'm wondering if the eggs died in the cold and snow, so she took off? Haven't seen her since yesterday morning.

Angie said...

LOL re Chris can't swallow!

Tara, hoping Mama bird comes back. :-( Glad your date was fun!

OMG, almost forgot that the Survivor finale is tonight! I'd really be okay with whoever won at this point. It's been a tremendous season and the ones that are left deserve props for it. Even though Colby has been completely lame, just surviving to this point considering the powerhouses who've left is quite an accomplishment. I'd kind of like to see Parvati do a repeat win. She's fantastic.

So here's my glass recycling story. I've told you before that the city doesn't pick up glass curbside with other recycling, and so I take it to the recyclery where there are the big metal bins you have to drop your glass in. It's super scary dropping glass into a metal bin and one time I got cut from the flying glass. I dread doing it so I've got glass stashed all over my house and porch that needs to go.

So I'm watching the local news the other night and there was a brouhaha at the city council meeting because it was discovered that the recyclery was BURNING the glass with the trash and not recycling it. They don't even have a contract with anyone who can recycle it. The recyclery has basically been committing fraud having those recycle bins out there for glass, when they then do not recycle it.

And the bins were very specific: you have to separate the brown glass from the green glass from the clear glass. Which I faithfully did, going through nasty old beer bottles to get them in the right bins.

I'm so pissed about it. But also a tish relieved, to not have to worry about taking the glass anymore. Tonight I'm loading up my trash bin with glass and effing taking it to the curb with the trash. So much for saving the planet.

One more post and I'll quit board-hogging. Just want to say to Rhys, if you're reading, I miss you and hope that some day you'll feel comfortable posting here again. Hope you and Rock and Zaya and Lia are doing great.

Anonymous said...

SW - That sucks about the recyclery. How long have they been committing fraud? I mean, why have they stopped them only now?

Angie said...

They've been doing it for at least three years. I don't think the city knew. I'm not sure exactly how it was discovered. The spokesman from the recyclery who was at the city council meeting said that he was committed to getting a contract in place with someone who recycled glass by the end of the summer. I'm not holding onto all my glass for that long.

Anonymous said...

A contract by the end of the Summer? Gosh, I hope they do *not expect people to keep their glass for *that long!

Here, recycling is mandatory and, though I see the importance of recycling, it's just a PITA to pay attention to what you put into what trashcan. Ugh.

. said...

That sucks, SW. That's quite the scam they pulled off. Why did they make you separate the colors? We don't have to separate anything, it all goes in the same bin.

Angie said...

BD, aren't you back from vacation YET? You're not dumping us TOO, are you? ;-)

Anonymous said...

<--- misses BD and AP, too.

Angie said...

Tara, I don't know why about the colors. I assumed that different colors of glass had to be separated for recycling. Now I don't know what to believe. ::shaking head sadly::

Forgot to tell you guys that when I stumbled into the kitchen this morning to feed the cats, I looked out the window and saw that giant Silverado and it startled the crap outta me. I thought for an instant some bold big-truck-driving criminal had come to get me. Then I was cleaning the kitchen an hour later and got startled by it again. I want my car back!

my mother is FB chatting with me, again

she needs a life

she harasses everyone on FB.

Annoying

Mulie, I like your idea of googling "best _____ recipe." I had not thought of doing that before. I'm googling best mojito recipe today and plan on trying out some of my mint if I have any limes. I can't go to the store because I don't want to have to worry about parking the behemouth.

Anonymous said...

Blackhawks get the first big win :) Beer brats with sauerkraut on the grill tonight, along with potato salad. I hope everyone is having a good Sunday!

Muliebrity said...

I got the idea of googling "best______ recipe" from the chick at Resolved2Worship. It works out most of the time, but I've gotten a few funky recipes that was as well.

Muliebrity said...

We had brats for lunch, Bella. They were the precooked kind with cheese inside, so they weren't bad, but I have been craving a good grilled brat!

Anonymous said...

Rhys left?? What the aitch?? I lub that chick=(

I'm sad now.

Erin said...

SW- we just started with single stream recycling here. I know it means I have *no life, but I love it. Pick up of *everything once a week. No sorting or separating anything. It just has to have an 'X' on the trash can designating it for recyle.

Angie said...

Watching Survivor! It's good!

Oh, and tonight's chicken dish was stir fry with sugar snap peas and water chestnuts. Also goood.

Muliebrity said...

I want some sugar snap peas. What do you use for stir fry sauce?

Angie said...

Mulie, I marinated the chicken in a sesame ginger 30 minute marinade (Lawry's, I think), then later added some chicken broth and soy sauce. It was a little too sweet and sticky. Could have used less of the marinade.

Angie said...

I don't want to go get the clean sheets out of the dryer and put them on my bed. And I don't have any ice cream or chocolate to bribe myself with. :-(

Got the baby room looking so cute today!

Have there been no good days? I'm so sorry to hear that...

Some good days, like friday was good! I got to see family and I got to giggle and have some fun.. But since then been pretty sucky, I'm in a lot of pain and spend most of my time either vomitting, sleeping, or coughing. But that's ok, because friday was marvelous, and I will remember that so that I can get through this. To have more fridays
