A change of plans

So the last few weeks or so have been pretty hard on everyone and rather trying of some where patience is concerned. To save the patience of one and to keep this place up and running I am taking OVER and OD may never be the same again *insert evil laugh here.

This place was started as a haven for those who had been brought together by different things, mostly due to a site that lead to the questioning of another blogger who in her own words claims professional blogger and at times famous as well. Well that place went with the wind, other places started up and then went with the wind again. This site is NOT a hate site, never has been. It is much more like a group of women sitting around enjoying their coffee (read Schlitz) and bullshitting about life and those we encounter in it.

There are no laws that say we have to like everyone and there are no laws that say everyone has to like us but I for one am sick and fricking tired of having to hide or watch what I say just in case big sister is watching and decides to poke  her ugly head up. People can only have as much power as you allow them to have and I am taking it back...they dont get to have any power from me.

We are still going to  have the same "rules" and guidelines and you know what a good debate is all about a good debate and diapers and are still shitty :) Life goes on and allowing fear of bullies to control your life only gives the bullies more power and I for one think they have taken enough from the ladies that frequent this site so if you are willing or want to we will stick around and keep up the Daisy way of life!!!!!

Your humble new Daisy host,
Shannon

And I just want to say quickly that I was ready to shut this place down and let a few know. I am sooo glad Shannon took it, instead!

Ha! I can say what I want now without feeling a conflict of interest. Most excellent! Can someone toss me a glass of Moscato and a lawn chair? Jill, you want any?

Lisa said...

Sandy weird macro crap is when people post images of things or words composed entirely of symbols and letters. Annoying shit.

Sandy said...

::grabbing lawn chair for AP::

Sandy said...

Gotcha!

Lisa said...

Thanks, Sandy! *flings my bra off and sits down*

AP pass the wine.

Shannon said...

Mornin Jill

So to those who like wine how do you get past the yucky fruit taste? I have tried several different kinds before and have yet to find on that I can stand the taste of....outside of Boone's :)

twirldawg said...

See, I like the fruity wines more than the oaky ones.

PJ said...

I dont know if it is bravery CK or stubborn and hard headed LOL

I'm going to figure out how to draw a macro pic of a tube top with all @ and * signs -everybody needs a goal in life.

I had lunch with Hannah's class today - in 30 short minutes 2 kids went to the nurse, I made 3 new friends, learned that guinea pigs can get lice (EEK), and was asked if I'll be bringing a date to the talent show...

Hey - blogger messed it up!

Tara said...

From a lurker's point of view, you guys don't know how CRAZY all of this sounds! Don't have a clue what is going on. I thought Shannon's rave was directed at AP! Apparently not. Lost. Completely lost. But, I still love to read here.

PJ said...

Nice work, Margaret!

Anonymous said...

There is no love lost between anyone here - no raving - just a passing of the torch from one daisy to another. Now we're learning to draw with letters, numbers and symbols.

PJ said...

That last one looks like a martini glass of V8 juice.

Anonymous said...

Blogger takes away the intricate spacing - hmpf!

Shannon said...

I love me some AP....I think if anything my "rave" is much more dedicated to those who lurk only for the sake of using things said against people later definitely not at any of my lovely vile Daisy ladies :)

jmh said...

Hi Shannon!! :)
Remember me?!
Congrats on the new gig.

Lisa said...

Sandy, I'm not topless...oh, God, no one needs to see that! I'm in a t-shirt, I swear.

*tosses Jill the Moscato bottle and a Dixie cup*
Good news on the truck!

Shannon said...

Thanks Julie :) I dont know if it can be called a new gig I just have another thing I have to remember to do every so often LOL

Lisa said...

Oh, heck, Shannon and I are beyond good. Sorry for any confusion, Tara, and it's good to see you! No big drama with Daisy, I just didn't want to worry with it anymore so Shannon stepped up. :-)

Julie, do I remember you from around here or OHIH or somewhere? If so, hi! Heck, even if not, hi!

jmh said...

Hi:)

Shannon said...

AP did you get the hatches battened down?

Lisa said...

I did until a storm started. Can't caulk in the rain. Can't paint in the rain. Can't run power tools outside in the rain. So, I'm back, loving the rain and not complaining. :-)

Shannon said...

LOL yes rain does make all of those things a lot more challenging if not impossible or dangerous. Enjoy your rain lady so long as it is just a nice cooling rain.

KaytieJ said...

AP - hope the rain brings some cooler weather for you.

Shannon - did you see that WA hit record for most rain in June? Moss is growing everywhere :-(

Shannon said...

Holy catfish Kaytie that is crazy....we are only half way through the month....maybe they wont be screaming drought this year LOL

KaytieJ said...

Jill - YAY!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

We have had a lot a lot of rain this summer too - it's lush and green.

I put a video on my blog today but it won't play. Blogger hates me!

Tara said...

I'm good with not knowing anything at all about what Shannon is talking about - one reason I always lurk at different boards rather than post much is that I HATE drama. It seems like when you become a poster, you get sucked into any drama that is going on. I'm happy reading.
Could you just clear up one thing I am concerned about, though? This has nothing to do with Chris I hope (mainly for selfish reasons in that I have been donating when I can).

twirldawg said...

Ok, I'm home.

Thank you Shannon for taking over the blog.
AP I'm sure running a place like this can really get to a person.

I've come to really enjoy our chit chat. I do miss some of the girls who were on SIP that didn't come over here. I hope they are lurking and will say hi soon.

After the Krista blow up and won just falling off the face of the earth I'm happy that this place didn't go away.

Shannon said...

Tara this isnt about Chris it is actually about other people outside of this board who took it upon themselves to be ugly and attack people who do post here. It wasnt anything to do with Chris and it doesnt have anything to do with peeps here either it isnt our drama it was just forced upon us LOL

KaytieJ said...

Last day of school :-D
Now I get the pleasure of convincing a teen to do his chores even if it is summer break -LOL!

Shannon said...

Today is the 9 year olds last day of school...Saturday is gonna make him made because he is going to get his butt out front and clean up the yard since it is thrashed from his antics.

Lisa said...

Tara, it had zero to do with Chris in my book. :-)

And I like drama!

twirldawg said...

I like to rubberneck the drama but don't like to be involved.

PJ said...

Margaret - I could see the video.

Jeanette said...

Hi bitches. I'm on narcotics so instead of the Daisy official beer, I'll just have a sparkling water :)

I'm with Jill on the rubbernecking! And btw Jill, so happy for you and hubby!

For those of you confused, I'm fairly certain that Shannon wasn't referring to any Daisy participant but rather someone who has proven to have to much time on her hands. Perhaps she should get another dog?

twirldawg said...

Thank you again, everyone for the support.

Jeanette why are you on drugs?

Shannon said...

Drugs huh? You gonna share? LOL

Anonymous said...

I'm too much of a blabber mouth to be a lurker - that and I like to share my opinions on many and varied subjects :)

Jeanette said...

Ugh, there is something wrong with my head. No really, lol. About a month ago I had what I thought was a sinus infection, but we now think there is an exposed or pinched nerve somewhere. I have a constant ache in the whole right front quadrant of my skull and face, and then have grand attacks every few days that completely take me out. It sucks.

Jeanette said...

lol Shannon! Sure, I'll send you some virtual narcotic love in honor of your promotion to head Daisy.

I must say, I'm so looking forward to having the AP back that doesn't censor herself.

Lisa said...

"I must say, I'm so looking forward to having the AP back that doesn't censor herself."

Me, too, Jeanette! Me, too! I had a little conflict of interest going on there and I don't do well with that. ;-)

twirldawg said...

Oh Jeanette that stinks. Hope you are feeling better soon.

I'm off, talk to y'all later.

Lisa said...

By the way, I hope you to feeling better. And can I just say yours and Tara's noses for drama crack me up? We aren't even half a day into Shannon's supreme reign and here you are...we need to keep stuff stirred so you don't leave here, don't we? ;-)

Anonymous said...

Jeanette - I'm just curious. You don't comment on here for a long time and then the moment that you do you lob a grenade over at GM. What's that all about? I for one would like to see the past stay in the past.

Tara said...

Jeanette - I guess you cleared up all the confusion with the dog comment! And I should have know, right?

Jill - I think actually I am more like you - I like to "rubberneck" the drama. That's a good one.

AP- yes, a little pot stirring now & then would be good. This has lately become a little too nicey-nice even for a non-drama queen like myself! I thought we were seeing a new side to you, but thankfully not!

Tara said...

Oh and just for clarity, I am not the Tara whose
avatar is Wilma Flintsone. I might refer to myself as Tara in NC from here on out just to avoid confusion.

Jeanette said...

Actually, I read here about every day. Usually from my cell phone, which for some reason won't let me post. And at night, when no one is on. Take a peek at the site meter around midnight on any given night and you'll usually see me, same as with Fellowship. The only reason I'm on now is because I saw Shannon's post on my cell and hopped on to show her some support.

And Margaret, I was trying to let the ones trying to figure out who "big sister" is without actually naming any names. So much for that idea. And that was hardly a grenade. I'm pretty sure she knows that, too.

PJ said...

Hi Tara from NC.

What brought you to these parts?

PJ said...

I'm thinking perhaps Shannon chose the words she used on purpose.

Jeanette said...

I especially liked the part about not having to hide or watch what we say.

Tara said...

Hi CK - started over at OHIH - loved it there -actually posted some. Then went to MWOP, but it just doesn't have any "feel" to it - kind of like reading a newspaper. AP invited everyone over here & I love the diversity of people & opinions AND the fact most everyone can get along or comment without getting their feelings hurt. I don't post much because jumping into the middle of a board with established people feels like I'm intruding a bit. But I read here almost every day. And, I sometimes just don't feel like I have anything to say to contribute. Now, AP - she's my hero! She just speaks her mind but in such a constructive way - not bashing or anything. I was so scared when I opened this post & saw Shannon had "taken over". I thought she killed AP or something! I was like "oh my gosh, oh my gosh" ha ha. Anyway, I love the "feel" here & will try to post some. Now that the nicey-nice has worn off, it may be a little bit more exciting!
Tara in NC

Lisa said...

"This has lately become a little too nicey-nice even for a non-drama queen like myself! I thought we were seeing a new side to you, but thankfully not!"

Nah. It sucked.

Tara from NC,I do remember you from OHIH, don't I? Sorry I confused you, with the other...should have noticed the avatar thing.

Lisa said...

Oh, gawd, trust me, I'm no one's hero and if I am, you need help!

Jeanette said...

I thought it was the other Tara too, AP.

Shannon said...

Ok I can tell I am a little frustrated with the world...my fabulous son came home and saw my frustration as I started cleaning out the crap from the fridge and he started cleaning the bottom of it.....He is such a good boy sometimes.

Tara said...

Well, AP - if loving you is wrong, I don't wanna be right!
Tara in NC

Jeanette said...

Aww, that's a good boy Shannon. You should be proud of yourself for raising him :)

Melissa said...

I agree with what Tara said "I don't post much because jumping into the middle of a board with established people feels like I'm intruding a bit. But I read here almost every day. And, I sometimes just don't feel like I have anything to say to contribute. Now, AP - she's my hero! She just speaks her mind but in such a constructive way - not bashing or anything."

I couldn't have said it better! Thanks for that Tara. I'll also try to be more present instead of hiding in the shadows. :)

Lisa said...

Tara, could you sing it to me, please?

And Shannon, that's so good of him. Are you sure he's not just wanting something?

Anonymous said...

So this isn't Yemen Tara - I'm so confused.

Jeanette - didn't mean to insult you. The comments about GM just took be by surpise.

Tara said...

I have NO idea what Yemen Tara is, but I don't think I'm that!

AP - ummm, I was singing it to you. I was just hoping you recognized the song, otherwise... that could have been a little awkward.

Jeanette said...

None taken Margaret. I posted while thinking Tara was the other Tara and was giving her a reference to help with her confusion, while leaving names out of it. Luckily, it worked even though it was the wrong Tara.

Tara said...

Jeanette - you used my name so many times in that last post, I feel like we close friends!
And thanks for the hint earlier - I'm not the Tara you thought was THE Tara, but I still didn't know what was going on.
Tara in NC

Jeanette said...

AP, while you're here... I wanted to ask what part of Ohio your son is thinking of moving to? I'm in Southern Ohio, about an hour from the Columbus.

Jeanette said...

Tara Tara Tara!

Jeanette said...

That was to be read in my best Jan Brady voice.

suz said...

I agree with the comments by Tara in NC and Melissa. Read here often..hard to jump in the middle of a conversation. You feel like you are butting in. Also did not want to get caught in the ugliness that took place for reasons beyond me. But I am gonna let that rest. Love AP too, this is the AP love fest. And I have always appreciated Shannon and her "up front and own it attitude"
So...Here I am again too.

Tara said...

OK two things that strike me as funny. I have just in the last 2 hours, posted more here than I have from OHIH/MWOP/OD collectively in the past 2 years!

And, does anyone feel odd when you are in the middle of a conversation (here) and you have to leave & you feel like you should say "bye" or something, but then you feel like posting "bye" is really stupid - kind of like OK I am announcing my departure now 'cause I am so important & I know you all will wonder what happened to me!

Can you tell I don't post much?

Lisa said...

Tara, I knew it was a song. I just didn't know you were singing. :-X

And Jeanette, Cleveland.

Hey, Suz!

Melissa said...

Tara-I <3 you already!

Melissa said...

AP-Do you know where SW has been hiding? She hasn't been around in a while.

Jeanette said...

He'll be just a couple hours away from me then AP. Not that it gives you much comfort, but I want you to know that if he ever ran into trouble up here, he would be more than welcome to come here until you could get him home.

Tara said...

Melissa - I feel like Blogger of the Year just because of what I have done here today!

suz said...

Hi AP! Hope all is well in your corner of the universe.

Lisa said...

Jeanette, thank you, and I really do appreciate that very much.

Melissa, I think she's super busy with work.

KaytieJ said...

Hi Tara NC, Jeanette, Melissa!

Hey Melissa - Glad to see you! I like your cake pictures and that you like to bake. My mom made the best cakes and pies and so I did the bread baking and never learned how to do cakes or pies. Trying to learn how to do it now, though. You make it look easy and it is not!

Shannon said...

Wow this place is hopppin now LOL go to work some more on the kitchen and had several several comments to read LOL

Tara said...

Shannon - just so you know, I get a little wild when the cat's away. You can see I posted 5 or 6 times while you were gone!
Tara in NC

Melissa said...

AP-Okay, glad to hear that SW is okay. I was a little worried about her because she'd been so MIA.

Kaytie-Thank you. I'm the same Melissa that does drive posts that live in Florida near AP. I changed my profile picture and started a blog in my silence here. I'd like to start bread baking. Just haven't gotten brave enough yet.

Shannon said...

I know I dont know if you have posted that many times in EVER lol

Melissa good to see you again

Suz HERRO

Melissa said...

Tara-Take this as you will but would it be easier for you to change your profile name instead of having to add your name signature at the end of your posts?

Tara said...
This comment has been removed by the author.
Tara said...

Melissa - as if I know how to do that! ha ha (note: 10 posts in 2 years - get my drift?)
I just have a google e-mail that lets me sign in here using that log-in & password. If I can change it easy, I'll do it! If Yemen Tara comes back and runs me off, I guess I'll be forced to do something!

Melissa said...

Tara-I really don't have room to talk because I'm not as savvy as some of these other talented ladies when it comes to Blogger related stuff. I don't know how it works with you having a google email-maybe someone else will know and can help a sista' out.

KaytieJ said...

Oh and hello to Suz, too.

Tara from NC, Suz and Melissa. Just jump into the convo. That is what Daisy is all about :-D Helps if you pull up a lawn chair and sport a tube top, but not necessary at all.

Tara said...

KaytieJ - about the tube top. Muffin top problem going on. I don't want you all to make fun of me on my first day here.
Tara in NC

Jeanette said...

Ok Daisies, I have to leave now, but didn't want Tara to worry about me ;)

And AP you're very welcome. Anytime.

KaytieJ said...

Tara - can't help ya, sorry. Not blogger savvy myself, just learning how to do my own blog and that is a template, nothing fancy.

Tara said...

Jeanette - thank goodness you went first. Now I won't feel so stupid when my big departure comes!

KaytieJ said...

bye Jeanette!

Solved teen not thinking he needs to do chores because it is now summer break. Never saw the horses, chickens and dogs fed so fast
:::evil cackle:::

And no, I did not beat him.

Shannon said...

Bye Jeanette........I am not so savvy either you dont even know so everyone has to bear with me until I figure out all the stuff here too :)

I mean hello if you all every have looked at my blog you will see just how neglectful of it I am :)

Melissa said...

Okay, I'm heading home but might pop back in later on tonight.

Shannon said...

Kaytie do share!! How did you manage to do that since the bad child came home with her boyfriend AGAIN (3rd day in a row) and apparently did all that was required folding the 10 things on the couch before turning on the Wii and planting her ass on the couch she just cleaned off. Kitchen still needs more work...still more dishes after the 2 loads I have already done.

Melissa said...

BTW-I'm blaming AP for my addiction to Frontierville on FB. That game has sucked me in. Then again, I loved The Oregon Trail in elementary school.

Now I'm out for real!

Tara said...

Melissa - wait, don't go yet. Look what I did!
(see profile name). I am Queen Blogger of the Year!!!!!

Shannon said...

LMAO Tara in NC that is too awesome!!

Tara said...

So, yeah, Shannon, just let me know of any computer help you might need from me. LMAO now!

Shannon said...

HAHAHAHA hmmmmm where were you when I was having trouble getting signed in?

Tara said...

*hint* leave your page up & you don't ever have to sing in again! See, I know stuff.

Lisa said...

That looks better, Tara!

And Melissa, you're most welcome about Frontierville. :-D

Tara said...

OK - putting spell checker on my christmas list.

Shannon said...

LOL have you looked at the site meter...I have more time on this page then anyone :) I never close the page unless I have to

Tara said...

Please tell me that the site meter doesn't record every "refresh" as a visit. I clean house this way: vacuum - hit refresh, dust coffe table - hit refresh, straighten pillows - hit refresh. I must look like a freak if every refresh shows a visit!

Shannon said...

LOL I refresh all the time it is the only way to get it to show new posts.

Shannon said...

Oh and I lied I forgot I closed the page earlier so I am no longer the longest person viewing the site :)

Tara said...

Following Jeanette and Melissa's lead - I am announcing my departure from here for awhile. And following KaytieJ's advice, I am announcing also that I am taking a nap.

Anonymous said...

I'm making a special dinner for my dad's birthday/father's day. I love being able to pick stuff out of the garden - so Barefoot Contessa (without the gourmet kitchen, the ocean in the back yard and Jeffrey)

Tara said...

Shannon - oh god - please don't let it me me, please don't let it be me.

Shannon said...

LOL It isnt you :)

Shannon said...

Margaret the peeps around this house better be happy that I am even making dinner tonight lazy badwords!!! We would even have fresh veggies to pick too if the ones who are planning the garden and everything did any steps further then buying the plants to die in their containers

Shannon said...

Ok I think I might be able to take a shower and still have some hot water...gotta leave to pick up the husband soon.

Lisa said...

I refresh like Tara does and hardly ever close it up...I usually run with about 6 tabs open. So, I probably win for most time on *and most refreshes. ;-)

Whatcha making, Margaret?

I am now closing it up *gasps* and going to take a nap, both. See y'all later!

Muliebrity said...

I have 21 tabs open and I'm glad OD is still open for business!

Robin in Montana said...

What are you making, Margaret? I wish I had Barefoot Contessa's kitchen, garden, and the ocean, but all minus Jeffrey.

We're having the ever gourmet choice here - spaghetti and garlic bread and a 'taco cake' from the store bakery. Fancy.

Shannon said...

LOL I only have 5 tabs open right now and that is nothing compared to what I normally have up and running

Hey Mulie and RiM

suz said...

Hey RIM! Yum Spaghetti sounds good to me, but what is a taco cake. I mean is it just shaped like one> I have never seen a cake shaped like a taco

twirldawg said...

Yeah, AP deserves a special place in the after life for getting people hooked on the FB games.

Two year olds are such interesting creatures.
Mine is currently in his undawears (yet isn't potty trained) wearing a bucket on his head and pretending to hiccup.

twirldawg said...

Oh and to the others from Atlanta who are lurking: hi! :)

We were outside playing and out of nowhere the sky blackened and the wind was crazy. Got to love summer weather.

Muliebrity said...

My sister a such a *special person. She is insisting her doctor induce her because she is sick of being pregnant and just wants to "get it over with".

Robin in Montana said...

Hi Suz! Long time no talk! :-)

Yeah, it's just a round cake hacked in half and turned on its side and decorated like a taco. A gimmick to sucker people like me who are dumb enough to wander by the baker with 4 starving kids in tow. :-D It's pretty cute, actually.

Mulie - ack!

Jill - I laughed at the visual of Richard. I love how their minds work, even if we have absolutely *no clue why they work the way they do. So funny and interesting.

suz said...

RIM.lol. Sounds like it would be sickening sweet and just up my alley!
I have been lurking but was on vacation for a couple of weeks too.
Now I am headed to the store to see what I find for dinner and if I can find a taco cake. ha!

Robin in Montana said...

Suz - If there isn't one premade, demand they decorate one on the spot! lol. I'll take a pic of it and put it on my blog. I know, the excitment and anticipation of *that is nearly too much to bear.

Robin in Montana said...

Okay, I am out for the evening. If there is any mischief to be made, please be so kind as to wait until I am back and can join in, will you? :-D

Lisa said...

I'm back. I was cold and had to pee so I stopped by to read and refresh. *looks at Melissa*

I think I'll make shit on a shingle in a bit. That sounds good.

Gaaa, they're *still talking about that cop that punched the 17 year old jaywalker. I guess when people fight the cops, the cops are supposed to just let them go. Good to know.

kristin said...

Tara - you had me cracking up at work.

Hey ladies!

Congrats Shannon!

And AP for being able to "talk" again.

Hey suz!

Shit on a shingle...I haven't had that in ages AP - enjoy!

I just cut up a bunch of leftover roasted chicken I had picked up the other night, threw it in a pan and added teriyaki sauce and made some rice. It was good!

twirldawg said...

What is shit on a shingle?

We had pancakes. Or cakecakes as Richard calls them.

Lisa said...

Jill, you don't know what SOS is? You poor, deprived thing! Some people use dried beef but I prefer ground beef...it's browned, seasoned ground beef in a thick milk gravy and you serve it over toast or biscuits. Total comfort food!

Melissa said...

What did I do AP?? I'm maintaining my innocence until I'm aware of the charges.

Hiya Kristin-nice to see you again.

Lisa said...

Oh, lord. I confused you with Tara...sorry!

Melissa said...

No biggie!

Oh what joy....finally home an hour after I should have been home. Jeremy got poison oak yesterday while working and I was kind enough to go pick up his prescriptions so he doesnt turn into a massive welt from head to toe LOL That place was freaking packed!!

Oh and speaking of maintaining my innocence, this "taking a nap" thing isn't some code phrase for something vulgar is it? Cause if it is, then KaytieJ took advantage of my innocence and lead me down a dirty path.

Hey all :) Shannon is driving the Daisy crazy train now, ha! I'm pulling up a lawn chair to see what is going to come out of AP's mouth, now that she is free and easy.

Glad to see everyone!

Shannon said...

Hey Bella.....yeah we could be in for a pretty strange ride with me at the wheel......but I forget it was never "normal" when it was AP at the wheel :)

Just make sure to drive this place to Voodoo Donuts once a week, and you and I are good :D

Tara said...

OK AP - you were gone from here for 1 1/2 hours and your explanation when you get back on is that "I'm back now, I had to pee"? I'm thinking this whole site is laced with code phrases to throw some of us off!

kristin said...

Bella - AP is free and easy, do you have personal knowledge of this?

:o

Shannon said...

I just had me some delish Voodoo the other day....let me tell you that I love love LOVE their Old Dirty Bastard. It is a raised doughnut with chocolate frosting, crushed Oreo cookie, drizzled with peanut butter. They are so damn good but the sugar overload that comes after can be dangerous :)

suz said...

Ok ladies, nice to be out and about but my phone is about to die ( yes I post from my phone b/c my lap top is jacked)

Suz, hey :) good to see you!

No hiding from me; just have been taming the wilderness I call my yard. I haven't been online much at all :)

Kristin, I plead the fifth!

Okay, I'm out for dinner. Take care.

Shannon said...

Suz I hope to see you soon....I hate how quickly phones can die when using them for internet stuffs.

Erin said...

Margaret- I will be there in an hour. Save me some dinner. Although I did just eat spaghetti. Just make me a doggy bag please ;)

Shannon- at the beach there is a homemade donut shop. I am a purest, and can only get the cinnamon sugar ones. The *last thing I need is a doughnut. Or several.

Shannon said...

HAHAHA Erin that is what I told my friends when they brought the Voodoo over....I have been so good about not having sugar and snacks and they blew it all to hell in the form of a circle of sin.

KaytieJ said...

:::waking up::: VOODOO DONUTS? I love me some bacon donuts from there. Yummmmm!

Tara NC - Nope. Nap means Nap. We take our naps seriously around here.
Only code word I know is Worship. Shannon can fill you in on that one ;-D

Bella!!!!!!!!!!!! How's the farm?

Shannon said...

HEHEHE worship may be on the schedule for tonight...dont tell the husband though he will bug me till it is time.

Anonymous said...

It's never a good idea to let on that there may be worshipping - a lady needs to be able to change her mind.

Shannon said...

Very true Margaret and as soon as it is known that means that it is written in stone and could bring about the end of life as we know it if it doesnt happen.

Hey everyone! I wanted to pop back in real quick and post something serious since there are so many people here today.

I know that all of you are the most giving group of bitches there is, and you all have great big hearts. This oil spill thing is just awful and so many innocent animals are being affected and even dying. There are many organizations collecting funds to aid in the recovery and clean up, but I know that not everyone can afford to donate a whole lot. I myself have only donated $10, things are just tight right now.

BUT... Dawn, the dish soap company, do so so much to help the animals. They have already reached their goal of raising funds and they are donating all the soap being used to clean the animals. I posted about it on my blog a few days ago with links to an older commercial of theirs and also their webpage showing how they help. You can look at my post if you want to see the info or just google it. If you look for my post it's probably about halfway down my first page.

Everyone washes dishes, right? So next time you have to buy dish soap, will you please, please buy the Dawn brand? It's an easy way to help out the animals and it at most you may spend an extra dollar or so than you would buying a cheaper brand.

KaytieJ said...

Jeanette - Thank you so much for that info.

Jeanette said...

Thank you Kaytie, for reading it! It just breaks my heart to look at the many pictures of those poor animals. I know that a lot of people are going to be affected by the oil spill too, and of course animals shouldn't be more important than people, but these animals are literally drowning in oil. It's just terrible. I so wish I lived close enough to help them, but I don't. I figure campaigning for Dawn is better than nothing.

Anonymous said...

Jeanette, I almost can't look at those oil-covered wildlife photos. Breaks my heart.

Jeanette said...

Mine too Bella. They have no clue what is going on. I can't imagine the fear, or how many have already been lost. I didn't realize Dawn did so much to help until I had to research a commercial for my writing final and that was a commercial I came upon on youtube. I chose that one because it just applied so much to what is going on right now, and then the more I looked into it... I don't know I just feel compelled now to persuade people to buy Dawn if they can... it's not a lot but it's something.

Jeanette said...

And with that I'm out again Daisies. I have an early appt tomorrow... again :( Goodnight!

kristin said...

I know that on the commercials I see - they say for every product you buy they donate $1.00 to wildlife. I think that is commendable.

I have been in tears looking at the pictures and reading some of the reports.

I want to help to b/c it really does hit so close to home.

They are saying that all the wildlife are fleeing to shallow water and are afraid of mass die-offs b/c lack of oxygen and easy pray. Makes me sick.

Okay, going to put away dinner.

Anonymous said...

Kristin, I read that, too. The media coverage seems funny; there should be so much more outrage, imo. I don't know. I don't think anyone knows how bad it's going to get.

kristin said...

bella - I don't think a lot of people realize it either - or the effect that it is going to make. I mean yes, it sucks that people have died b/c of this - but these animals really have no say in it all, it was all b/c of greedy people. A few of these wildlife are already endangered and here we are just taking are sweet ass time cleaning it up and trying to figure out how to stop it.

Okay...sorry...off my soap box. Going to bed, I'm tired.

Shannon said...

Jeanette thanks for sharing that. I can say that I have been buying Dawn for pretty near ever because of their efforts in helping out with oil spills and because it is just awesome!!!!
