April 15th.

Did everyone git 'er done?

To soften the pain, take a travel mug to your nearest Starbuck's and get a free brewed coffee in it.  It has to be a travel mug, though.  Anyone else have any tax day freebies to share?

And lastly, if you're getting money back and many, many Americans are, take a moment and help Chris.  Even $5...just help.  You can afford it better right now more than most times, right? Caring For Chris

i see you taiya!

Bye RF!

and I suck as a cook...need to read the instructions all the way through before prep...doh!

AP - I was avoiding eye contact with you because I did not read your latest blog post until just now. WOW! You did it again. You make me think so much. I definitely agree with you on the two years of service at age 18. And, I also agree with health professionals giving 2 years service. I would have loved that opportunity because when I graduated there were no hospital jobs and I had loans to pay back.

T@iy@ said...

I am going to look like a moron when these finally post. Last one, promise.

KaytieJ said...

Blogger ate my post again :-/

kristin said...

i see you guys but I subscribe through e-mail so I'm reading you on g-mail!

Hi Taiya! Hi Kaytie!

Checking in! Been traveling all day. Again. I am staying off after this weekend!

Hi all:

Computer died and I have been using Mr. BD's work laptop for my work, and haven't wanted to use it too, too much for recreational stuff...but I missed you all, so hi. :)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Did my previous comment appear to anyone?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I can't see my comments, so I'll just keep talking and hope someone else sees them.

AP, I thought you did the "hems the rules" on purpose, like it was some sort of regional slang I didn't get.

kristin said...

Hi BD! I think blogger is having issues!

RE: "Angels in America" have you read "And the Band Played On?"

KaytieJ said...

DAMN YOU BLOGGER!
:::said in my best Shannon voice:::
This is putting a serious crimp in my day off!!!
I filled up the horses' water troughs, came back in, see the number count of posts is more, and they are not showing for me!

Muliebrity said...

Did I post or what?

Muliebrity said...

I think the problems happen when we move to a new page. The last few times I've had problems I noticed that was the case.

Shannon said...

I will say that I am pleased to see everyone else having issues this evening LOL

It is telling me that there are 200 posts yet all I see is about 30

T@iy@ said...

Yay! You are back!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Hey Kristin!

Muliebrity said...

I hated that I was traveling all day AND I forgot my cell, so I've been out of the loop, but am caught up on email and am PISSED, Taiya!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Do I have any hope of catching up?

I'm not here for too long, b/c I have to use this for work when Mr. BD isn't AT work, so my time online is limited. I'll try to come back soon. I got a loaner but we need to hook up the wireless card, the software for which is at Mr. BD's office and he must bring home.

Really Frugal said...

Wow, I thought I broke it bad.

T@iy@ said...

Mulie- pissed that you missed it or at him?

Just popping in, as the weather is beautiful and not conducive to being online right now...

I saw KaytieJ is looking for hops. Do you want fresh hops or pellets? If you want fresh hops, I can send you a crapload at the end of the summer. If you want pellet hops you can go to:

http://www.northernbrewer.com/

http://www.midwestsupplies.com/

They also may sell dried fresh hops as well, but I'm not sure.

Just did my email, Facebook, MWOP, and Daisy check for the evening, now back to the deck with a beer and good conversation!

T@iy@ said...

Watch for some e-mail Mulie. Sam has an update.

Muliebrity said...

Both! That is ridiculous! What are people thinking?! Selfishness disgusts me!

T@iy@ said...

Me, too, Mulie, me too. I just talked to her, though, and she is going to update everyone in a new e-mail. It might not be what she was originally told. Just so you know.

Muliebrity said...

Did you talk on the phone?

Muliebrity said...

did blogger die again?

Muliebrity said...

Am I really the only one here?

T@iy@ said...

No I talked to her on FB. She is on my friend list. Sorry- was transferring upstairs. More comfy for sitting up.

KaytieJ said...

I'm here Mulie...if this actually posts that is...
Who is Sam?
Are you leaving us after this weekend Mulie? Please don't, but if you gotta, you gotta :-/
And did you have the 40 mile each way due to your checkup? That sucks. I had to do that and it was so damned stressful. For you more so, because you have other kids to worry about too!

T@iy@ said...

Is everyone incommunicado because of blogger screwing up, possibly?

T@iy@ said...

Sam is a mutual online friend. :)

KaytieJ said...

Bella - Thank you for the links! And enjoy your beer and convo on the porch!

PJ said...

Just back from counselor appointment. Laughing at all of you talking in invisible ink.

KaytieJ said...

Taiya - I think so :-(

KaytieJ said...

CK - It is pretty funny :-D I would be texting the begees out of AP right now, but my son has my phone. Don't smile too hard there, AP :-D
Hope your Counselor appointment went well.

I had a doc appt, followed by a trip to St Louis. This is our last trip here before the baby and we are having a B-Day Party for Hunter, now that the hubby is back.

KaytieJ said...

Happy Birthday Hunter! And now I see what you mean. Have a good time in St. Louis!

Muliebrity said...

His B-Day was 4/7, but we didn't do much since hubby was going to be home 2 days later. He's 2, he didn't know!

Muliebrity said...

I know that last comment made it, but it's not showing! Boo, blogger!

Muliebrity said...

See?!

T@iy@ said...

KaytieJ- what soap kit did you get? I didn't catch everything and i am too lazy to back track. Something where you just mix and pour?

KaytieJ said...

I saw it Mulie - and I understand about birthdays being on different days. With my dh traveling for weeks at a time and me a shift worker, holidays and birthday are when we all get together! Enjoy!

kristin said...

watching nancy grace while folding clothes - they say Haleigh is dead :(

Muliebrity said...

That's me on FB, Taiya.

KaytieJ said...

Taiya - it is a "Melt and Pour" kit. I found two sites I liked, but went with the Oregon Trails one, just because it is nostalgic to me. Both sites say the "soap" bars are non preservatives, etc. The fun in it is that it is microwaveable, you can do your own fragrances/essential oils and additives (like hops or mint or sparklies)and molds. I'll send the links to the two sites in a bit.

T@iy@ said...

Okay, Mulie. :) good to know!

Ooh! Sparklies!

Muliebrity said...

I am kind of a FB whore, Taiya!

T@iy@ said...

haha, Mulie. :)

Oh, and I will definitely check out the links if you post them. I just got distracted by the thought of sparklies in soap!

KaytieJ said...

http://www.oregontrailsoaps.com/products.php?cat=3&scat=15

Here are the two site links for their melt and pour soaps. Enjoy!

On the Oregon Trails one I spent $37.00 and that includes shipping. We'll see how much soap that will make. However, you have to realize I am an Irish Spring, Axe Deodorant and a stock up on Mary Kay twice a year kind of gal - so I splurged on myself :-D

KaytieJ said...

I saw sparklies and thought why not? They are an exfoliant, right :-D

T@iy@ said...

There ya go! :) I have a bunch of essential oils for other projects, so I might try that. Looks like easy fun.

T@iy@ said...

I must be really tired to have said "There ya go!". For real.

T@iy@ said...

Well, Daisies, I am off to bed. Hope everyone regains their blogger privileges by tomorrow! Night!

Mulie, they will be back.......they are just distacted by life right now. You know.....crock pots, BJs, the usual.

My brother has a little anecdote he always tells when the talk lands on BJs (and let's face it, it always does eventually). He says when you want a man to do something for you, bat your eyes, sidle up to him, and as you're raking your fingers through his hair say "babe, if you do XYZ123 for me, I can promise you the BEST BJ of your LIFE!"

When it's time to pay the piper, point out that you said you CAN PROMISE said BJ, which you could, but don't really feel like doing justthisminute.

Caveat per Chris........he says choose your chore/favor/trip downtown with care, because this is a one time only deal.....=)

Chris had a horrible afternoon. Said he was just so tired of being broken down in every way. Then felt bad for bitching even when people have been amazingly kind to him.

I told him that while continuing to write individual thank yous for donations, I saw a memo for one and it said that it was a gift for Chris, that he should use it (20$) to buy whatever he wanted.......the person said it was not to be used for bills or medical expenses, only something of Chris' choosing.

So a few minutes ago I asked him if he knew what he wanted to do with it. He said yes.......he wanted to donate it to AmyB51169's son Philip. Chris said he can't imagine what Philip goes through, having a stroke AND all his other issues.

Of course I started bawling. And told him he is completely forgiven for using my husband's Mens Health as porn.

He can't wait to film his little video thank you for y'all tomorrow =)

Thank you again AP for your generosity in featuring Chris. Once again, kindness is found all around.......all I have to is open my eyes and see.

Chris says to tell "his girls" hello. Thank you again for everyone reaching out to him. He has his moments of course but for the most part his spirits have picked up immeasurably since he started hearing all of the sweet things said to him and about him. You ladies are the best. And AP & Kristin.....you both are just beyond words=)

Muliebrity said...

Chris is so sweet! That $20 could have bought him a decent BJ, but does he have feeling.....uuummmmm......:::wispering:::down there?

kristin said...

Hey Elisabeth - I'm trying to clean!

your brother deserves to have a bad day - we all do!

That is awesome that he sent $20 to Philip! He is a great guy, sure we can't convert him...although I might have to fight some women off :)

btw...did you get my last e-mail?

Muliebrity said...

Night, Daisies!

night ladies!

KaytieJ said...

Night Taiya, Mulie, Kristin!
Elisabeth and Chris are going to mistake us for the Waltons - LOL! But proud of it since AP's lineage lived that piece of turf before they did :-D

Lisa said...

Kaytie, my grandmother's last name was Walton, no kidding, and there really is a "Walton Mountain", only it's called Grandfather Mountain. There's some useless trivia for you. :-)

"Chris is so sweet! That $20 could have bought him a decent BJ, but does he have feeling.....uuummmmm......:::wispering:::down there?"

Mulie, swear to me you will never, ever leave us for good. Truly, no one could replace you and I'm convinced of it now. :-D

Chris, you are *so entitled to have shit days and throw yourself a good pity party. You don't have to be tough, you've lost a lot with this, and you're entitled to resent it and wallow in that from time to time. Just don't let it win. And thanks to you and Elisabeth for the updated picture on your blog!

BD, you need to get that new computer. Bella, you need to stop having a deck and good conversation. That is all.

Kristin, the Hayleigh thing is so, so sad. They're looking for rope as the murder weapon. Who uses rope to kill a 5 year old, slightly handicapped little girl and *why? She wasn't the biological child of any of them...they could have just called her dad to come home and walked away if she was too much to handle. I don't get it.

Anyway, it's so nice to see RF here and our new Daisies, too. Goodnight, all. Will slap a new post up and head to bed.

Everytime I hear those goodmornings and goodnights I chuckle and think of you :-D

Kristin.......no email from you, booohissss

Mulie, yes he does have feeling "there"....but it sharply "curves" over to the right and he can't control it! He has been encouraged to ....ahhhhh ...."self employ" relief and he says it's like trying to hula hoop a greased donut on your thumb.

We knew we still had "feeling" when he still had a breathing tube in. He was in and out of consciousness and a VERY attractive male nurse came in to adjust his leg compression device. Chris had do much "feeling"...they had to re-adjust his foleycath!

He had a huge issue with boundaries while in inpatient rehab after ICU. The one poor RN tech asked to be moved to a different patient because Chris kept lecherously leering at him and saying obnoxiously "I hope you have some reason to touch me today!!"

Lord, it was a nightmare. He still has boundary issues (which they say is normal) but thank God he is not QUITE as bad.
