Margaret, have a great time on vacation!

Good morning. Anything new and exciting?

Lisa said...

Hey, Mulie. How's Muliette?

Muliebrity said...

Is my 4 year old going to be warped because of his obsession with Godzilla? Every stuffed animal, ribbon, string, baby bonnet, cupcake wrapper, etc, is a monster, and they are always acting out scenes from the many movies Logan has seen.

Muliebrity said...

As for Muliette, let's just say lining a diaper with plastic wrap is a joke. If I am going to catch any blood, it needs to be today, because we are going to STL tomorrow for a wedding and Sunday is Muliette and Finn's Baptism.

Tammi said...

I say that purity ring went out the door with a certain somethin' somethin' LOL

Lisa said...

Tammi, that was my first thought, too. And hey!

Mulie, good luck catching the poop. Glad it's you and not me. ;-)

Lisa said...

Total randomness - I need (yes, need!) new perfume. Anyone wearing anything good?

Robin in Montana said...

I got nothing exciting here at all.

I need new perfume and have no inspirations. Haven't even been sniffing lately at all. My stupid body has decided to rebel against my bath and body works stuff and it makes me break out, so I don't wear that, either. I stink!

Mulie - good luck on the poop patrol!

T@iy@ said...

Perfume? I think I have a few Bath & Body body sprays from my teenage days? You want me to send you some, AP? ha

KaytieJ said...

Only one I have and (if I remember to wear) is Dolce Vita by Christian Dior.

Margaret - Have a great vacation!

Mulie - Safe journey to STL and (does one say Happy Baptism?)

Lisa said...

Taiya, thanks so much but I may pass on those. ;-) Robin, I've not been sniffing either. I finally got a little tired of the Bijan Nude and have been using tried and true 4711 in this hot weather. Actually, you may like that, too. Very clean and refreshing, slightly masculine but not so much a woman can't wear it easily. I want something brand new, though. Heh, I sound so spoiled, kind of like Mulie. ;-)

Hey, I just read the description of Kaytie's Dolce Vita. Hmmmm, this sounds really nice.
"This Feminine Scent Possesses A Blend Of Fresh Cut Flowers With A Trace Of Aromatic Woods And Vanilla."

I tend to use either drugstore body sprays or indie perfumes. I'm no help.

I'm also super po'ed at my mil. I'll type out the story when I calm down.

Lisa said...

Jill, there's nothing wrong with drugstore body sprays so what are some good suggestions? I used to love the Bonne Bell Skin one, I remember. I'm not sure what you mean by indie perfumes but it sounds interesting. What are they?

Lisa said...

*waiting to hear Jill's story and hopes it doesn't involve the boyfriend who shaves his legs*

twirldawg said...

AP I've been switching between an "Ocean Breeze" scent and a coconut citrus scent.
As for indie perfumers; Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab is a good place to start: http://www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com/
The descriptions are always interesting.

The purity ring - he, he, he.

Is Shannon back under a pile of donuts?

It's hot as blazes outside - I can't remember a hotter summer.

Lisa said...

Jill, I've ordered from them before! Shoot, it was maybe 3 or 4 years ago and got something with "snake" in the name. I'm going to go look, I forgot all about them and thanks!

T@iy@ said...

I actually own some curve and some britney spears something or other that I thought smelled fab in the store and hated the minute I got home. And something else.. can't remember what. Guess I need to update my perfume, also. My husband might like it if I did once in a while.

twirldawg said...

On to my new mil drama.

Three years ago my husband and I had a trucking co. His mom was our lone employee. He decided to sell it, and sold it to his mom.
Fast forward to recently. He has purchased a big truck and is now leased on with his mom (and the same company that we started). Today I was to meet her to get his first paycheck.
So my mil is never ever on time for anything and I was running late anyway. I was told to be at the bank at 11. At ll:15 my husband calls and says that she just called and she was leaving her house. I spend 20 min killing time by going to the gas station to get slushies for me and R. Get back to the bank and she still isn't there. It's 11:45.
I call my husband and then call her. She still hasn't left the house. I tell her that I'll just go to her house. She says don't because she's leaving now.
12:30 rolls around and I finally decide to leave the bank. I'm so pissed. It's 94 outside and R is covered in a red sticky mess because of the slushie. I'm on a schedule with this kid and I need to get him down for a nap.
I'm a mile down the road and my husband calls and says that my mil just passed me. I turn around and head back to the bank.
She isn't there.
Husband calls again and says she's at Sonic. He's as pissed as I am.
I roll up to Sonic and barely have time to get the window down before my mil throws the paycheck at me and storms off.
I yell "Thank you" out the window and drive off.

Husband calls minutes later to ask if I cussed out his mom. I truthfully tell him that I did not. Poor R is in the backseat. He's hot, sweaty, sticky, and was told he would see Grandma. She didn't even look at him.

So here I am po'ed and trying to hold my tongue on Facebook. . .cause apparently all I do is talk shit about her on Facebook. Untrue, she can't even see my status updates.

I'm done now.

T@iy@ said...

It's hotter than the face of the sun today. i am melting. ::ponders:: which may not be a bad thing. Maybe I can melt away the extra pounds...

Lisa said...

Good lord, Jill. Does your husband believe you about it all at least? If so, that's all that matters but what a damn bitch. :-(

(And it was the Snake Oil I had and loved!)

Muliebrity said...

What is wrong with that woman, Jill?

T@iy@ said...

Wow, Jill! That's ridiculous!

Melissa said...

Jill, I'm sorry to say it but your mil makes mine look like a saint. That's just ridiculous how she behaved. Then she lied about what you said? Crazy!

Anonymous said...

Taiya - I said something the other day about sweating my butt off and Hannah just looked at my butt.

Jill - since you got in trouble anyway you should have slushied her when she came up to the car :)

Melissa said...

My latest scent obsession is Twilight Woods from Bath & Body Works.

I need new perfume though. I've been wearing the same 4 fragrances for the past 6 years.

Anonymous said...

Mulie - my brother was a hard core Godzilla fan and is now a fine husband and father. If they turn your bathtub into Tokyo Bay just make sure someone is watching them :)

Melissa said...

Margaret-I can picture that happening a la the Glee episode! :)

twirldawg said...

My husband knows that my mil exaggerates.
Her problem is that she became a mom the day after her 16th birthday and has never really grown up.

I'm trying to be the bigger person (ok so bitching here is a bad example of that) and set a good example for my son.

Shannon said...

Hey I am back again....hopefully longer then yesterday.

AP I so appreciate that you have been so gracious in picking up my slack through all of this.

Believe it or not yesterday at about 10am Pacific the internet was shut off once again!!!! My ex's wife is all about taking the bills and putting them in their room so that she can make sure that they get paid.....well that is fine and freaking good so long as they get paid!!!!

Jill that is kind of freakish to say the least LOL

Mikala's appointment yesterday went wonderfully and she will be seen again in October. Everything is healing nicely, however she is becomming concerned that her right nipple still looks like a big shrivled prune :) Doctor says in six months she wont even think of her breasts anymore LOL

Muliebrity said...

I believe they created the Pay Czar just to investigate where the bailout money went, Margaret.

twirldawg said...

Thanks for letting me vent.

I got a text apology. It's a start. For Richard's sake I don't want to have a horrible relationship with her.

T@iy@ said...

M- LOL @ hannah and your butt!

Robin in Montana said...

Oh ack, Jill! I was wondering what your FB status meant. I don't see all of your FB status updates just because of timing and all, but anything I've ever seen is cute stuff with Richard.

Muliebrity said...

What do you all think of the "Little Couple" trying to have a baby?

Anonymous said...

I don't know how her little body could handle it.

Robin in Montana said...

I didn't even know they were trying. They are way, way too lovey-dovey for me. Or they were the only time I saw a portion of it.

Robin in Montana said...

Okay, you bunch of daisy sniffers, I am out for the weekend, and possibly all of next week. Please take care and don't be bashing on me in my absence!

Muliebrity said...

I think they are going to use a surrogate.

Hi everyone!
I think we hit every single red light from Baltimore to Ocean City, MD.

I had a large comment typed diligently on Mark's BB, went to send and it disappeared, fucker.

Jill - I think your MIL hasn't gotten any from Shavey Legs and she is getting grumpy ;)

I don't like being late, and I don't like people making me wait.

Shannon said...

I hate the red lights I hit them taking Josh to work every morning

And I have to share this bit of info to all of our readers who are also pet owners.

Two years ago I worked with a guy who was working on starting a business in making purely organic pet shampoo and flea treatments. They have three little lovelies and were floored by the poison that was in the stuff they used on them. Well after leaving that job a few months after starting I lost touch. Well I just found out that in 2 years not only have they done it but they are in over 20 different states across the country!!!

Their website is www.madaboutorganics.com I dont know about the rest of you but I know that I hate using stuff that is bad for my dog to kill the fleas and I hate the fleas too. I am buying this stuff for sure and wanted to share their website.

And believe me when I say that they are just what they claim to be....the three fo them did this from scratch and they are the epitome of a small business :)

Deb said...

Shannon, thanks for sharing that and I will definately look them up.

One of my mom's friends rescued a jack russell, Lucy. She loved Lucy with all of her heart. She wanted to treat her to a bath one day, got a "natural" shampoo. Within an hour, Lucy was covered in red bumps. She rushed her to the vets, they had to do a blood transfusion. Sadly, Lucy had a horrific allergy to the shampoo and had to be put down.

She figured since it was "natural" it was good and doing Lucy a favor.

Shannon said...

Deb that is horrible. I have tried the advantage and stuff like that on the dogs and I just hate it because it doesnt do a damn thing. They actually have ingredients on their site too. I mean seriously when they put warnings on the bottles about avoiding contact and such for humans what makes it ok to put it on your pet.

Muliebrity said...

I hate using those poisons on my pets, because the kids are all over those animals. I try to avoid it, but I have also seen fleas and flea bites on the kids, from these animals. I usually treat the cats when we leave town for a few days. Put the stuff on them and make sure the doors to all the bed rooms are closed. They are not usually interested in sitting on the leather couches, so at least it kind of says off the furniture. One of my cats gets all mangy and bald if she gets flea bites.

Muliebrity said...

Hubby ended up getting tomorrow off, so we threw our stuff together and drove the 3 hours to STL tonight, so everyone is now settled in and passed out. I think I'll do the same.

Lisa said...

Jill, I'm glad your MIL did apologize...did she say why she acted as she did?

Shannon, no problem looking after Daisy. I just like to whine about it. ;-)

As for the Little Couple and what they are doing, well...considering all the babies/kids in this world who need a loving mom and dad to adopt them, I feel anyone who chooses medical intervention to "have their own" is about as incredibly selfish and arrogant as a human being can possibly be. Then, to know that couple is handicapped/disabled themselves and &still choose to not make a difference in the life of child already here or soon to be here who has their own disabilities and handicaps just takes that arrogance and selfishness to an even higher level. If you want to be a parent because you truly just want a child to love and raise and nurture but can't have your own naturally, you'll not hesitate to adopt. If what you're after is more of yourself because you think you're same damn great that the world needs some more of you, you'll do what they're doing. Not that I have an opinion on it or anything.

Lisa said...

Shannon, I wish your friends' site went into more detail. For example, the 1 ounce flea treatment for cats...how do we use that? And how often? Do you know? I'd definitely be interested in trying the flea stuff as well as the skin and ear cleaning products for Gina's ear tumors. I just wish they went into more detail on how it all is applied.

Lisa said...

Happy Saturday to anyone out there. :-)

Shannon said...

Hey AP I am actually going down to the local store that carries it to check into it. I will make sure to get the directions and info and share it. From what I got that I read you use like 3 or 4 drops in different spots like once a week I think LOL.....Definitely will find out for ya though.

Lisa said...

Thanks, Shannon!

Lol, I wonder if we can manage less than 10 posts today.

Shannon said...

HAHAHA maybe if we try really hard :)

Lisa said...

Well, I'm going to share a white trash cocktail I just had with everyone. A neighbor invited me over for a drink and I noticed everyone had popsicles in their drinks. Come to find out, they've been doing that to "add flavor" and keep drinks cold longer. I had white rum with Sprite and a strawberry popsicle in it...lol. I must say, it was tasty!

Shannon said...

OHHHHH that sounds yummy and much less watery then regular old ice cubes. I may have to try that sometime.

Lisa said...

I was pretty impressed with the idea. They had the Sprite almost frozen, slushy, and everything was already cold so they used them like you said, to keep things from being watered down. But to have a cocktail with a popsicle stick hanging out of it was pretty funny. It could work well for a beach-themes party.

Shannon said...

LOL yes it could. I am trying to figure out how I could make cranberry juice pops that would be small enough for the boys with their whiskey and cran....maybe just freeze some up ahead of time or something. Now me I could seriously use that idea for my vodka drinks with the slushy sprite and pops mmmmmm yummy.

Lisa said...

Shoot, Shannon, just freeze the juice in ice cube trays. That or buy some make -them-yourself freezer pop container but I'd do cranberry juice cubes...much easier.

Shannon said...

Im thinking that I am going to try that....I think that with juice mixer and juice cubes they will enjoy their drinks more. But then again after the second or third drink they dont much care if there is cran in it anymore LOL

T@iy@ said...

Hmm... I like this idea for an ocean themed baby shower I am throwing a couple of friends. We are just having punch, but it would be really good with some of those real fruit popsicles in them. We are doing blue raspberry punch and that would give a good flavor... thanks, AP!

So, it was cool this morning because we had massive storms last night... but it was hotttt again this afternoon/evening. Now it is cooling a *little, but is still humid. Crazy weather day.

Lisa said...

You're welcome, Taiya. The one I had was an Edy's real fruit one in strawberry...for a theme party, the little stick would be cute enough just sticking out. I've got them in lime in my freezer...bet that would be good with the blue raspberry!

The heat is just awful most everywhere. Is it bothering the girls much?

Karen said...

Not sure about Taiya's girls but this heat has been bothering me!! The last two days the heat index was over 100 and I was dumb enough to have a yard sale yesterday and today! I made $35 yesterday and $66 today - not nearly enough of a payoff for all the work I did getting things ready! and for sitting in the heat!! and for packing it all up to take to my sons, store in his basement, haul out and set up, take down and store overnight, haul out again today... Ugh! And I think I pulled something in my side/ back, it hurts!! But, on the bright side, my house is really really cleaned out! Now tomorrow I just have to actually "clean" it!!

Popsicle in a drink sounds so good - especially the all fruit ones!

Random thought:: I need chocolate!

Lisa said...

I am still up. My son makes me freaking insane. He's off spending the night with two girls, with my blessing. He's out of my hair. Moooooo-dy.

Karen, that is an awful lot of work for that much money but at least you're rid of a lot of stuff now. Did you get your chocolate?

It is so humid tonight that I can feel it in the house even with a/c...it's just damn damp in here.

I was telling a rl friend about the popsicle drinks and she's planning a nighttime poolside party for her daughter who is turning 25 in August. The "theme" already was sort of "grown up kid", with designer cupcakes, gourmet burgers and pizza, etc. She's decided to do this with some concoction of lemoncello, citrus vodka and lemon lime seltzer so it's all pale, almost colorless, freeze it to a slushie texture and add my own beloved lime popsicles to it. She said she's going to wet the sticks and dip them in margarita salt. I'm thinking we all need to keep this particular idea in mind.

Karen said...

No chocolate for me - I went to bed at 11:30 which is unheard of early for me! Now I got up at 8:30 this morning! But, at least I have no more junk cluttering up my house - I hate clutter!

That idea for the drink sounds great - and sounds like a really cute idea for a 'grown up kid' bday theme! or any time of summer party!

T@iy@ said...

Actually, AP, the girls are doing pretty good with it! When R was little she threw up all of the time when she got hot. Up until about 14 months. Eeq, on the other hand.. gets hot and sleepy. She doesn't particularly like it, but she is doing pretty well with it all. :)

I think you are right about the lime! I am definitely buying some of those for the shower. :) Too cute.

Karen- do you want to come declutter *my house?!

Erin said...

The popsicle drinks sound delicious. Even just the ice cubes sound good.

Deb said...

Love the idea of the popcicle drinks!

We are waiting out a line of storms before we leave the beach. Fixing spaghetti for dinner, then hopefully they will blow through as we can hit the road.

We added 4 new family members today - they are of the hermit crab specie.

Deb said...

Karen - I need de-cluttering too!

Muliebrity said...

A very exciting opportunity has presented itself. I have been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall next May with my HS's Alumni Choir!

Jeanette said...

Congrats Mulie!

You are actually just the girl I came to see. Did you post once that you give your children Melatonin(sp?) at night??

If so, could you give me some info about it? I know that it's all natural, but that is as far as my knowledge goes on it. I'm wondering at what age it becomes safe, if there is a kids' version or dosage, where to buy it, and how long before bedtime to give it.

Of course, if you didn't post about it at all, which is entirely possible since I have a habit of remembering things that never happened, feel free to ignore me :)

Muliebrity said...

We were using it for a while to get Logan in a good sleeping habit. It comes in a several different strengths. If you can find it, a 1 mg (think mg) is the dose we would give, or split a 3 down to as close to 1 as would could get. We would crush it with the back of a spoon and add it to his bed time milk. It works with in 30 mins and while it makes like easier, I hate the idea of giving him a "hormone" long term.

Jeanette said...

Thank you!!!

Brookelyn used to go upstairs when asked, around 9:30ish, get in her bed with her teddy bear, and I didn't see her until morning. Then she would be a complete dream throughout the day. When my grandpa was in the hospital her dad was the one pretty much taking care of her and now she thinks she has to sleep in my bed and doesn't go to sleep until at least midnight. She is still getting up at her normal time and by 3:00 in the afternoon, she is a whiny, bratty, miserable person to be around and she throws a fit when she doesn't get her way. I have tried everything I can think of to get her back on schedule but it's just not working. I want my happy little girl back! I feel like I spend all evening fighting with her because she thinks she runs the house. I know it all comes back to her not getting enough sleep and not getting *good sleep. I'm hanging onto the hope that if I can get her sleeping back in a routine, everything else will fall back into place.

Thank you for the info!

Melissa said...

Mornin'! Spent the weekend with the hubs minus the kiddos. Hope everyone has a great Monday.

Margaret-Just wanted to let you know that my charm came in the mail on Saturday. It's so pretty! I think I'm going to get several as gifts around Christmas time. Thanks again to you and AP!

Deb said...

Good morning!

anything happening?!

Melissa said...

Not much happening here. Maybe everyone is still recovering from their exciting weekend.

Deb said...

I'm trying to catch up on some work. I am in general ma-laze.

Deb said...

Did you and your husband do anything special Melissa?

Lisa said...

Morning!

Melissa, aren't Margaret's charms cute? Which one did you get? And congrats on kid-free time.

Hi, Deb and everyone else!

Quiet weekend here. Yesterday was the anniversary of losing my dad and for the first time in several years, it just hit me really hard. I'm fine now so don't be doing a bunch of hugging and shit..lol...but yesterday? Pretty well sucked and I'm glad the day is over.

I'm blanking on dinner tonight. Anyone have any clever ideas on what to do with two big chicken breasts?

Melissa said...

We went out to dinner and to the movies Friday night. The rest of the weekend was just really quiet-we just hung out.

Did you do anything fun?

Melissa said...

Sorry you were blue yesterday AP. Hugs though. That's all I'll say about it.

I got the-crap-I can't remember what she called it. I think it was Flower Power or something. It has a pink background with a flower(s?) on it. I'm going to give it to a friends 9 year old girl so I wanted something pretty but not too grown up.

Chicken fajitas? Chicken Parmesan? Piccata? What are you in the mood for? Or not in the mood for?

Lisa said...

Quiet times are the nicest ones, Melissa. Are your kids home today? I know I don't want the chicken fried since we had panko-breaded fried fish last night. Actually, fajitas sound good. I was going to try to not go to the grocery store and I'd have to for those but I think I might. It's an easy meal, too. Thanks.

Melissa said...

You cold alway do like PW and make your own tortillas-if that's what you'd have to go to the store for.

Negative on the kids-apparently they'll be home on Wednesday. One called and asked if she could stay until then so when we gave the option they both opted to come home Wednesay.

Have a question for you about your charms-when they came did they come postage due? For whatever reason mine did. I know that the one charm wouldn't have been overweight and my the postage on it I'm assuming that Margaret took it to the post office so they would have weighed it before putting postage on it. It just struck me as weird.

PJ said...

AP - tiny hug, okay, done.

How about chicken pasta primavera - vegies, garlic, chicken, alfredo sauce, pasta, parm/romano/asiago cheese?

T@iy@ said...

:smacks AP gently on the shoulder:: Glad your day is better today. The end.

All of this food talk is making me hungry! Who am I kidding? Everything makes me hungry. It's out of control when I am breast feeding!

Karen said...

AP how long since you lost your dad? I haven't been to my dad's grave since I'm back in NY - Its so hard for me to do it - and yesterday I was "in the neighborhood" so I drove in, found the spot, sat there to get up my courage to see it, got out and walked up to the stone, touched it and said "hi dad" and then lost it - got back in my car, and drove away. Dad's are special and its hard not having them with us. giving you a hug anyway - even if you don't want it!!! xo

Shannon said...

Hey ladies...today is probably the last day I have on the roomies computer but the good news is this.........by following advice AP gave me a while ago I have already ordered a new cord for my laptop and it should be here around Wed or Thur then I will be back to my normal internet addicted self LOL

Yesterday was a fabulous day. Just me and Josh pretty much all day. It was so wonderful since just the night before I was pissy because his friend kept acting like I was depriving them of having time with him. The thing was that wed-fri he worked 16 hour days...I saw him for a whopping 1 1/2 hours max the whole day and about 40 minutes of that was driving him to and from work. They wanted him yesterday too but he said forget that it was a good day to spend at home with me :)

Anonymous said...

Hugs to you AP.

Melissa, I'm so happy you like the charm but I am annoyed you had to pay postage. I mailed it from the post office and have a receipt at home (I'm still at the beach). Because it doesn't mail flat they weigh it. Was the postage sticker on it? E-mail me how much it was and I can either paypal you the money or if you want pick out another charm or magnet set and I'll send them to you. I'm sorry and want to make it right.

Karen said...

Shannon I'm glad that Josh chose you over his "boys" yesterday!! Thats gotta make you feel great! Sounds like his boys aren't very mature, which is probably the reason they wanna hang with Josh, they don't have a woman of their own... because of their maturity!! hah!!

Colored my hair today- thats about all the excitement I have right now...

Melissa said...

Margaret-It's really no big deal. I thought that youwould have had to have it weighed when you mailed it. That's why I was curious as to why my postman is saying that there's postage due. It's only $.20-I'm not worried about it. I figured that I'd ask AP if she had the same issue since she's local, you know? I sincerely appreciate your kindness but it's not necessary. :)

Anonymous said...

Melissa - next time you need a little goodie for someone let me know :)

KaytieJ said...

:::banging head on keyboard so that I do not type out a hug:::
AP. You are one of the most gracious people. I am an eejit.

Lisa said...

Melissa, no, mine wasn't postage due...it was just fine. How weird! And I got lazy with the chicken. Am going to pound the crap out of it a la Robin and fry it (non-breaded) for sandwiches. CK, your idea sounds wonderful and also like far more work than I was willing to put into this today. ;-)

Shannon, I'm so glad you finally got a good day with Josh and will be very glad when you're back full-time. Did you find a good deal on the cord, then?

Karen, he's been gone 14 years now and I still miss him fiercely, I was a real daddy's girl and personality-wise, we were so much alike that we just really "got" each other. If I want to visit him, I just have to go in my mom's bedroom closet, though. He is stashed in a shopping bag on a shelf...lol. Trust me, the humor of that makes it all far easier to stop in and say "Hi, Dad" than what you have to go through. I'm so sorry. Do you think if you forced yourself to go often, it might get a little easier each time? Sending hugs to CK, Robin and Kaytie, too, and for all of you who have lost a much-loved parent.

Lisa said...

Kaytie, what the heck are you going on about? What do you think you're a eejit about?

AP - you too girl. I'm glad today is better but I am sorry that you had a rough time yesterday.

Heya Shannon! Glad you got hubby time!

Sounds like it - only on the floor, away from walls or anything the baby could suffocate against.

Even if the D rings ARE in place, they say don't put it anywhere other than the floor.

Bed for me. Sleeping in my adult size Nap Nanny.

Erin said...

AP- may as well just use a couch cushion.

Erin said...

I don't understand why the dumb thing would work any better than a swing or an bouncy seat. I am looking at both right now, and the recline is the same.

Lisa said...

I'm with y'all..a carrier reclined back (not at the angle it is required to be in a car) seems like it would do the same thing.

Karen said...

AP I lost my dad 12/29/99 and I was daddy's girl too - he got me and I got him, as opposed to my brother and sister who didn't get him and didn't have much of a relationship with him. Before I moved to NY I used to go often, then when I moved back it was hard to get the courage to go again. I really don't believe he is "there" though in that hole, so I don't really feel like I have to go there to say Hi dad... but I just felt like I needed to see it again, I don't know. My grandma was in my mom's closet until she moved into her Sr. apartment and her sister came to visit, and she asked for custody of her mom back and she took her to VA to stay with her a bit. They have been talking about buying another urn and splitting the ashes up between them... But like I said, since I don't think he's really in that hole in the ground or she's not really in that urn, it shouldn't be that important to me to go there, but sometimes it just seems like I need to! Hard to explain!! and hugs to all the other Daisy's who have a missing parent, I understand how hard it is and how much it hurts!

I'm going to lay back in my nap nanny now and get some shut eye - I have Tay overnight and sometimes he doesn't sleep in very well!! Goodnight Daisy's!!

Muliebrity said...

Thanks for dashing my nap nanny dreams, Daisies!

I already knew about only placing it on the floor and figured it was for the reason they mentioned. I used the car seat while sleeping at my mom's house, but worry that it is too restrictive. Her reflux was so bad this weekend. I got next to no sleep.

Muliebrity said...

If I can't have a nap nanny, I must go out and buy something else lavish, but also completer useless. What should I get? Maybe $40 cut off sweatpants for Logan and Hunter...

Speaking of sweatpants....I was at Wally yesterday getting cat food and was almost run over by a special guy speeding through the isles. He had an aid accompanying him. His aid was one of my Census co-workers: toothless overall guy. Turns out, her had more to his wardrobe then just overalls. He also has red sweatpants. Bright red. Did I mention that it was 99 degrees? Yes, red sweat pants.

Deb said...

Good morning ladies!

AP - thinking of you today.

Sorry I dropped off yesterday. Too much going on, and I actually had to *work yesterday ;)

We used to stick rolled up towels under the crib mattress to incline the kids.

Well, that and Lauren slept in her car seat for like 6 months.

Deb said...

That is, slept in her car seat, in her crib, *safely. And we talked to her doctor about it beforehand, and approved of it.

Lisa said...

"He also has red sweatpants. Bright red. Did I mention that it was 99 degrees? Yes, red sweat pants."

In what could only happen here, would you believe Robin and I have a red sweat pants history together? I know she's going to read "red sweat pants" and cackle. We both used to know a woman, pure-d white trash, who seemed to dress her kids exclusively in red sweat pants. I wonder why this is?

Lisa said...

And can I just say I loved the term "special guy"?

How is everyone today?

Lisa said...

Serial posting now...Karen, that makes sense about visiting your dad. What really made him *him isn't in that hole, but what's left of him on this earth is, so maybe that's why you feel drawn? {{{Karen}}}

Melissa said...

I wonder if people really don't look in the mirror before leaving the house. Not that I/m the epitome of all that is fashionable. I'll admit to my questionable fashion choices. But sweat pants? They're just not my thing I guess.

How'd your chicken turn out AP?

Lisa said...

I draw the line at sweat pants in public for myself and for most people. Some people can carry them off and they look sort of sporty, I guess, if the person is well groomed and all but on me? Yeah, it looks like I outgrew my jeans and resorted to sweats. Not so much.

The chicken was good...seasoned it with Vegeta and just pan -fried it in olive oil. Very simple. What's everyone doing for dinner tonight?

Tammi said...

AP....sorry about your day and your dad..:( I know that would be hard. I am very much the daddy's girl and the day he dies will be, well, I have no words.

And bahahahaha red sweat pants...LOL

And do not wear sweat pants in public...ever...ever....just don't. That was my PSA for the day. :)

Tammi said...

Oh forgot dinner...spaghetti with meat sauce, sauteed asparagus, garlic bread. Just something easy.

Melissa said...

I've never heard of Vegeta, is it good?

I guess we're having pork country style ribs. I took them out yesterday and we seasoned/marinated them. We ultimately decided to forgo the ribs in favor of Publix subs. I'm at a loss for a way to cook them. We normally toss them on the grill but I want to do something new/different with them. Any suggestions?

Melissa said...

Tammi-Do you normally have vegetables with your spaghetti?

Tammi said...

Melissa...yeah. I like to make sure we have something "green" with our meals. Of course that doesn't always happen..but I try. If I do just spaghetti and say the bread, it isn't enough. I have three locusts, I mean boys, and they eat me out of house and home. :)

Deb said...

<-----has no clue what is for dinner

I never wear sweats in public.

I think wearing pajama pants in public should be outlawed too.

Tammi - lol at the locust comment!

out for the day ladies, see you tomorrow!

Melissa said...

Tammi-Gotcha. I do the same thing with our meals. I usually throw a salad together with spaghetti. I guess my 10 year old brain won't put a cooked vegetable together with spaghetti. How old are your boys?

Melissa said...

Later Deb! Have a nice afternoon!

Lisa said...

Oh, my word, I forgot you knew about the red sweat pants thing, Tammi. Tell me you didn't think about Elaine the minute you read those words!

Spaghetti and meatballs with salad and garlic bread here tonight. Melissa, this is Vegeta and I get it at World Market. It's pretty much become my favorite all-purpose seasoning, even moreso than Everglades. http://www.vegeta.com/ Next time you're there, try some...I promise you'll love it. As for the ribs, I'd slow roast them in the oven, maybe, but grilling still sounds better.

I'm with Deb about pajama pants, although I admit to having done it once or twice in my life. I honestly felt ashamed, though, and never did it again.

Tammi said...

Melissa...That's why I do like the asparagus. I make them I guess you could say, al dente, so they have some crispness and actually, I know it seems wierd, they are good with spaghetti.
My boys are 17, 14, and 8. Plus at all times we have 2-3 friends around, so I am cooking for a freakin' army!

AP..yes I was dying...oh Elaine...at least she is friends with the mayor. bahahaha

Tammi said...

AP..have you tried the all purpose seasoning from Costco? It's McCormick brand and its called a Salt Free Garlic and Herb. I put it on everything and it is so good.

Lisa said...

Sadly, we have no Costco around here. I've never even been to one but I do think I've seen that seasoning in other store. Green lid?

Melissa said...

AP-I'll have to grab some Vegeta the next time that I go to World Market. It looks interesting. I'm assuming the have it over with the other spices etc.

I'll third the no pajama pants in public thing. I just don't get it. To me that'd be like going to Walmart without a bra.

Melissa said...

I"ve seen the Everglades seasoning before but never tried it. I typically use Mrs. Dash and seasoned salt on everything.

Lisa said...

Lol, Tammi calling me AP is bizarre. I'm going to see if I can get "Lisa" to stick again.

Hey, Tammi, did you ever get a link to Jennifer McKinney's blog? So you know the background of us all, she's the reason so many of us met in the first place. We all started posting on an anti-JM blog and we've just journeyed along from there. If you've been there, I'd be curious to hear your take on her photography skills and all. If not, here you go. mycharmingkids.net

Tammi said...

AP...I have never been able to find it in the stores, at least around here. Every now and then Costco is out of it and I have looked. Bummer. :(

Tammi said...

Lisa..:)...no send me the link.

Lisa said...

Melissa, the last time I wore pj pants out, it was to a liquor store, the clerk (a big biker-y dude) asked me out and the whole scene just took me to a place I didn't ever want to be again.

Do try the Vegeta - it's over with the other spice, yes. The can looks just like on the site and it's really wonderful. I think you'd love the Everglades on meats..so good on the grill. It's got a touch of heat, a touch of sweet and some salt...not too much of anything, though.

Lisa said...

Tammi, here. Again. :-D

Tammi said...

Oh geez...wasnt't thinking...LOL

Lisa said...

It's 'cause you're blonde. It's okay.

Melissa said...

I giggled a little at your last pj pants adventure, Lisa! I can see that happening, especially around here.

I'll have to try the Everglades seasoning too.

Has the Jake drama died down for now?

Tammi said...

::::hair toss:::

Tammi said...

Ok, I looked her stuff is pretty good...very, very photoshopped. Her black and whites, are more grey and white...which is a huge pet peeve of mine. LOL She needs a little more contrast...like this...let me pop up a link.

Lisa said...

I just got hit by a weave.

Melissa, I figured that story wouldn't shock you. :-D And yes, things thankfully seem a lot calmer.

Melissa said...

"I just got hit by a weave." Dare I ask how that happened?

Erin said...

I do understand the lure of pj pants out in public, but once that became socially acceptable, I would wear nothing else! I do wear them (or boxers) to pick up and drop off kids. One day this will backfire on me.

AP- I am not calling you Lisa. Sorry! Glad the boy drama has ebbed. Mine just had his heart smashed by his first love. I don't know who needs a drink more- him or me!

Muliebrity said...

I would never wear sweat pants in public unless they has "Juicy" on the butt! I prefer to call my "sweat" pants, yoga pants or workout pants.

Tammi said...

Well, there is a huge difference between a Juicy Couture sweatsuit and the plain 'ole Lee sweatpants. And typically there is fried chicken stain down the front of said sweatpants wearer wife beater as well....LOL

Lisa said...

"Well, there is a huge difference between a Juicy Couture sweatsuit and the plain 'ole Lee sweatpants."

Yep. An iron-on sticker. *nods*

Erin, you can call me anything you like, I don't mind. :-) And my heart goes out to your heart-broken boy. I hope he gets past it soon because that first one hurts like hell.

""I just got hit by a weave." Dare I ask how that happened?"

Tammi tossed her hair.
Okay, okay, so I don't think she has a weave but I like accusing her of it anyway.

Tammi said...

Weave? ahahahahahahahaha You know I would tell you. It's all mine. And thank goodness I get it colored and cut on Friday. My roots are calling for some sweat pant wearing! LOL!

Melissa said...

Okay, I'm a little slow on the uptake. I get it now! There's my blonde moment for the day. :)

kristin said...

Mornin' everyone. Nothing like almost 85 degree heat first thing in the morning. I'm ready for winter.

Tammi said...

Hi Melissa! I hate that too. I don't mind it getting hot, but hate waking up to it already there! Surprisingly it is only supposed to be around 85 today...it could easily be 105.

Hubby took the day off to do a few things around the house, etc. So I will be chillig with him, and I have a lunch date with a friend. What's everyone else doing? :)

Melissa said...

Not much going on here.

Tammi-On a totally unrelated note, I love your hair in your avatar picture.

Tammi said...

Oh thanks! It is a little longer now, but I just keep it that way. So easy to do. I hate blow drying with a passion!

Well, I guess I have a breakfast date too...can we all say mooooooo. I swear! :)

Lisa said...

Moo back atcha, Tammi! Sounds like fun, though. And I forgot yesterday to say I'm surprised you liked JM's photos. She does Lightshop them to death but she fancies herself a professional photographer and I was curious what you thought. She's quite the character, though, our JM is.

This heat is killing me. That is all.

Lisa said...

Sooo, what do y'all think about Arizona's new immigration law?

Muliebrity said...

Is their "new" law the same one that has been going on, or is it a new "new" law?

Muliebrity said...

Ack! Ack!!!!!! I just accidentally found a really kinky blog of an online "friend." Complete with photos! Ack!

Lisa said...

Mulie, it's the one that a judge partially shot down at the last moment today.

And can I have a link, please?

Shannon said...

So ladies I have some good news..........I am back!!!!! Got my new power cord today and it works just fine and dandy and hopefully I will be able to actually stick around more now. The only thing I am gonna do different now is that for myself I have really enjoyed having my nights with my husband so I wont be on all hours.....hahahaha at least for a while anyway :)

Muliebrity said...

"The only thing I am gonna do different now is that for myself I have really enjoyed having my nights with my husband so I wont be on all hours.....hahahaha at least for a while anyway :)"

Anyone want to take bets on how long this will last? J/K Shannon, Glad you're back! Now you need to listen to Lisa in the future and all your problems will be solved!

Lisa said...

That's right. If everyone just listened to me, imagine what a wonderful world this would be. :-D

I'm glad you're back, Shannon!

Shannon said...

LOL Yes AP it would be a much better world for sure if we just would recognize the wonderful wisdom of Lisa LOL

Now ya wanna get floored? I was watching Glenn Beck last night and had to give him a standing O.

Shannon said...

And Mulie that fecious comment of how long this will last isnt that funny considering the box for the power cord is already hot LOL.....at least they claim to have a 3 year warranty on them but I didnt get any kind of paper work or anything.

Lisa said...

Shannon, print the ebay ad out where it says that and keep your receipt.

I still say Glenn Beck is pretty palatable but just know he'll twist and turn things like they all will. He gives some decent jumping off spots to investigate more, though.

Shannon said...

Here is a link to the story he did yesterday.....now what gets me is that I have been saying for YEARS that if we want to balance city, county, state, federal budgets the first place we need to look is at the salaries of OUR elected officials

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,598002,00.html

Shannon said...

At least I can still say that I hate hate hate O'Reily and Rush with a passion and that wont go away LOL

Lisa said...

Oh, I've been hearing about Bell. I think it is somewhat exceptional, though, although elected officials are overpaid, for the most part. I think a larger problem are the contractors who are paid to do work for our local governments...the ridiculous wastes of money and overpayment for work are staggering. Far worse, imo, that the pay of elected officials.

Rush makes me want to throw things. I sort of like O'Reilly, though. :-D

Lisa said...

If you find it, DON'T TOUCH IT!

http://spacecoast.craigslist.org/laf/1867733411.html

Muliebrity said...

That is too funny! It took me a minute!

Shannon said...

Lisa I totally hear you on contracting stuff and such.....my husband's work is doing a job on a police station. He did not know this BEFORE bidding the job and hiring some guys who were more local to reduce commutes and such but he HAS to pay them $32 an HOUR plus overtime. $32 freaking dollars an hour when his top paid guy at the shop makes $18 right now.

Shannon said...

I dont think I am going to go looking for that ring.....ohhhh no no reward could ever be enough for that LOL

Karen said...

Lisa (AP I will get used to calling you this - will just take a while to feel "normal" !! I had to check out apartments on the craigslist post you put up here - and found this one, and now I feel as if I need to grade the ad... spelling gets an F!!!

http://spacecoast.craigslist.org/apa/1868646968.html

I HOPE I am done apartment hunting, I found one I loved today - filled out the app and put down deposit... Will hear within a week if I get it or not - will get keys on August 15 if approved.. keep fingers and toes crossed!! I really like it!

Lisa said...

"carpet threw the bedrooms
central air threw the house"

Crime threw the trailer park
Neighbor threw his spouse

Lolol, I know where this park is, Karen, and it's as stereotypically trashy as a trailer park can get and then a bit more.

I'm so glad you found an apartment you like and I'm darn jealous you get to move. I bet it'll be fine but I'll keep everything crossed, just in case. By the way, I don't care what you call me but I just felt all conceited having my blog name as my name so I changed it. :-)

Shannon, that deal with the pay is exactly what I mean. It's a huge problem, I think, and far more rampant than we can imagine.

It's past 1am and I feel like blogging and have no idea what to say that wouldn't bore people. Maybe I'll write that letter to Lil Wayne...

Karen said...

I just checked your blog Lisa - nothing new - so I guess you made your letter to lil wayne private? LOL

for some reason, spelling through as "threw" bugs me!!

I need to start cleaning, lots to get done today!!
