The green, green glow of home.

So, what's everyone's take on this idea?  Worth the risk to stop the oil if everything else fails...or not?

Mulie, you asked how they know that voice is Mel's and from what I understand, they don't definitely. But it sure sounds like him, he's not denying it's him and the woman does call him "Mel" in it. Let's face it, if that wasn't him, he'd be screaming bloody murder, denying it. He's a mess, Mel is.

Anonymous said...

Mel is quite the mess - what's with all the panting :)

Lisa said...

The panting was the best part...was he trying to act like he was scared or what? You know, I feel really sorry for all his kids, though. How embarrassing.

By the way, just in case anyone needs proof I'm cheap, I'm ordering myself new glasses online tonight. I *think I'll get two pairs for under $20, if I play my cards right. :-D

T@iy@ said...

Woohoo for 2 under 20, AP!

Just stopping in for a bit... getting ready to go to sleep. :)

Sorry about all of the Romeo drama, AP... hope it gets resolved soon.

Umm.. no idea what else is up! Hope everyone is doing great! :D

T@iy@ said...

On Mel: I didn't listen to the tapes, but if it is him and he did knock her teeth out, then he makes me sick. Although Roman Polanski is making me way more sick at this point.

Lisa said...

Oh, I'm disgusted with Switzerland. I was shocked. And sleep well, Taiya. :-)

Sandy said...

Hey all! Popping in for a second to say Hi! So Hi!

2 for under 20...you must teach me your ways. I need new glasses bad!

Lisa said...

Sandy, it's eyebuydirect.com. They've got a b1g1 sale going on and I've got a couple of coupon codes I've not tried yet but that might work, too. If anyone is interested, the info is here:
http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1919326&page=8
I did see there's a minimum order of around $20 and I think that's before shipping, so if I can find 4 pairs I like in the $7.95 ones, I'll have one pair tinted for sunglasses and meet the minimum. I *love eyeglasses, though, and love having lots of different pairs. For the first time since I was 13, I've abandoned contacts as of today and I figure I can treat myself to fun, new glasses to compensate. Now, I've never ordered from this place but have ordered from zennioptical.oom and was super-happy with my glasses except for a mistake of my own making in measuring sizes. This place is supposed to be even better.

Lisa said...

Um, make that zennioptical.Com. It's a good think I have new glasses coming. :-D Eye doctor appointment went okay today, I guess. He's worried about all the unexplained scar tissue in my eyes but that's been going on since I was a kid, them worrying over that. No one knows what causes it but I've wondered if it relates to weird, awful headaches I'll get. He seems to think it's possible, that something is causing both to happen so I have to start back doing what I was supposed to be doing all along - going every three months and he also wants to see me within 48 hours of having one of those headaches from hell. Fun times!

Sandy said...

That could explain things. I've got to make an appointment. I can't see with my glasses on and I can't see all that great with them off.

My mom has been having an eye issue for almost three years now. She started getting really bad floaters. Then the actual eyeball swelled. Talk about gross. Long of the short, she has/had the disease that they warn pregnant women not to change cat litter. Somehow it had laid dormant and out of the blue starting attacking the optic nerve. It was pretty bad. She was on steroid drops for months and antibotic for what seemed forever.

Lisa said...

Waaaaait a second...toxoplasmosis, Sandy? I wonder if that caused some of my mom's issues. This is interesting, thank you! And I hope your mom is okay now. Is she?

As for your eye issues, are you really, really nearsighted to begin with, do you know?

Lisa said...

Lol, Heather, your ass is lurking!

Karen said...

Evening night owl daisy's! Is anyone still around?

Good morning!

I love technology! I just finished FB chatting with my friend and old roommate who is currently deployed to Iraq.

Melissa said...

Is everyone hiding this morning? It's been like a ghost town.

I wonder what the impact would be if we were to try the nuclear bomb method of stopping the oil?

Sandy said...

AP, yes that's it! Toxoplasmosis. It is better and the swelling has gone down on the optic nerve. She was tested for everything under the sun. She also had a MRI to make sure it wasn't a tumor. She was also tested for MS. You may want to bring this up with the doctor.

Sandy said...

I might add that she complained that her eye felt filmy feeling. She still has lots of floaters which may or may not go away with time. She's been battling this for 3 years.

KaytieJ said...

Morning -
Not hiding Melissa - out feeding the animals and getting some chores done before another paperwork day. Excitement abounds around here - LOL!

AP - Great deals on the eyeglasses. Did the doc ask you to stop wearing contacts yesterday? On the buying eyeglasses online - do you have to have the script for the lenses?

Sandy - that is very interesting about the cat litter exposure and optic nerve damage. How frightening for your mom!

Speaking of animal conveyed diseases - a friend of mine came down with Bird Fancier's Disease. She has 40 finches. It put her in the hospital with severe breathing problems. Scary.

Mulie - that is wonderful to be able to talk with your friend overseas. I bet it is a big comfort to her, too.

Shannon - Hope Mikala is doing well and we miss you!

KaytieJ said...

Mulie - Ooops, I goofed. I said her-could be him. No matter - just caught my stereotype and wanted to correct it.

KaytieJ said...

Sandy - Oh man! Three years is a long time. I am glad it is better, though and they finally figured out what it is!

Muliebrity said...

Haha, Katie! It is a guy. He and my husband (My husband and him?) were in the USMC together and now he is an Army helicopter pilot. He has 3 kids almost the exact same ages as our 3. Our 2 boys are 2 months older than both his 1st and 2nd, and their new baby is a month (or less) older than Muliette. He hasn't met his new baby yet.

Lisa said...

Hi! Hope everyone is well today!

Sandy, my mom mentioned toxoplasmosis to her doctor today and he said it wasn't that, that her infection was caused by the cataract but told her that sure can happen. Good for all of us who have litterboxes to know.

Melissa, I can't imagine radiation in the ground and water would *ever be a good thing. Seems to me that would leech into our drinking water, food system (and not only seafood), etc. I think I'd rather have the oil.

Kaytie, I chose to stop wearing the contacts...with them, I have to keep reading glasses on-hand constantly and I'd rather just take off my regular glasses or peer over the top of them. With the online glasses, you do have to have a script but it doesn't have to be current, I don't believe. If anyone wants to try it, take a pair of glasses that you currently have, even sunglasses, and like how they look in you, then measure them very carefully. I failed to do that in my first order with Zenni and wound up with some too small to look good on my face. You also have to figure out your pupillary distance but it's easy to do with a metric ruler and someone helping you. You can google how to do that, but it only takes a few seconds to measure. If nothing else, it's a great way to get prescription sunglasses!

Lisa said...

Bird Fandier's Disease? I hope she's okay now but I have to chuckle since that's possibly more embarrassing that the Cat Scratch Fever (Disease) I have to claim. Between the two, at least mine sounds less nerdy. :-D

Lisa said...

Fancier's.

*sighs*

Melissa said...

Kaytie-I think I'd love to live out where you are. Sounds right up my alley. What I wouldn't give to get to be outside with animals during the day instead of stuck inside an office.

AP-After more thought I agree, you're exactly right about the radiation. I didn't factor in that when they did that 40some years ago that it was out in the desert not in the ocean.

I'm considering ditching glasses and going back to contacts. I'm tired of fogging up any time I get out of my car or go outside after having been inside for a while. Plus when it's hot one of the first places I sweat is the bridge of my nose. I'm tired of my glasses not staying in place. Any one have a place online to get contacts that you're willing to share with me?

Lisa said...

Melissa, I hate the fogging and sweating, too...a lot. What I hate worse is having to track down some reading glasses to see a simple oven temp on a package or something.

We get them at visiondirect.com and they're the best price we've found on the two different kinds we've had to buy since Jake has to wear those expensive toric ones. Search currentcodes.com for coupons, too. You can usually find one for at least 5% off. The Walmart Vision Center has some decent prices, as well, so stop by and check there some day.

KaytieJ said...

Melissa - it is nice, on my off days. With my night job, though, I am like a ground hog!

Lisa said...

Okay, since this is about the most exciting thing happening here today *grins*, I shall share my glasses order. I got 4 pair, all wire or wire half-frames, very simple but colors. No extra $$ spent for thin lenses, I don't really care if they look like Coke bottle bottoms. I did have one pair tinted for sunglasses for an extra $5. So:

1 x Appenzell - violet. $7.95

1 x Altdorf - coffee. $7.95

1 x Model 3016 - blue. $7.95

1 x Appenzell - violet. $7.95
- Tint Key: Purple 80% $4.95

Promotion 2-4-1 save: $15.90
Sub-Total: $20.85
USPS: $5.95
Total: $26.80

You can't use coupon codes with this b1g1 promotion but I went through bing.com for cash back and will get a 15%, or roughly $4 refund. If I only get one pair I like out of these 4, I've still done great, I think.

Dumb Q of the day - what does Anemonie Pie mean?

Lisa said...

ROFL! More like random, Margaret, not dumb. It means nothing except that awhile back I went through a pie baking thing. Anything I could put in pie form, I did and was obsessed with doing it to the point, in hindsight, it was weird. We were watching some show (Andrew Zimmern, maybe) and they were talking about eating sea anemones. I commented I'd love to try them and Jake shot back with, "How? In a damn pie?" That's when I knew I had obsessed. It stuck and for awhile after that, "anemone pie" became the standard answer for "what's for dinner?" or "guess what I'm fixing?" So, I went with it here. :-)

Melissa said...

I like the frames you chose AP. Even if you don't like one or two of them or even three of them you still got a super deal.

I like Margaret's random questions. To semi-quote Tom Hanks they're "like a box of chocolates-you never know what you're gonna get". I've also wondered what the meaning was behind "Anemone Pie" but haven't ever asked.

Lisa said...

Thanks, Melissa. I'm excited and hope I like some of them. Any I hate, I can always donate since the frames will be new and good. I like Margaret's questions, too. It just struck me funny after all this time. :-)

Anonymous said...

I'm a random, rambling gal :)

Melissa said...

SW-If you're out there lurking I just wanted to you that I miss you. You're my partner in non-mushroom washing. Who else is going to protect me from the scutiny of "the washers"? Check in sometime even if just for a sec, okay?

Who else is out there lurking (Tara in NC, Bella, BD et al)?? Come out and play, please!!

Tara said...

I've been here all along - lurking that is. I don't play well with others because I am sooo boring.

Melissa said...

Buuuuttt Tara (I'm whining dontcha know), you weren't boring when you were here before. I highly doubt that you're boring.

Tara said...

I think you may have just caught me on a day I was drunk. That's the only explanation I have.
But thanks, Melissa!

Muliebrity said...

Anyone have a good cous-cous recipe?

Tara said...

Fortunately, my 16 year old daughter just introduced us to cous-cous this past semester during her foods class. Unfortunately, my recipe is boil water and add a box of cous-cous. See? I told you I was boring.

Muliebrity said...

I was thinking something with yellow squash or golden raisins. I already know your recipe, Tara! ;-)

twirldawg said...

I'm here, I'm here.
I have nothing to talk about though.
I wonder if some people didn't run off and start a secret board without us! ;)

AP I'm going to have to check out that glasses website. My lenses alone are about $175 so saving on frames would be fantastic.

In early 2009 I got a bad bacterial infection in my eyes because of contacts. I nearly lost my vision. I was able to wear the dailies for a couple of months but they are too expensive. I don't mind wearing glasses, but I miss sunglasses.

Anonymous said...

Waving to Jill :)

KaytieJ said...

Hey Tara NC and Jill -
Late to the party but good to see you.

I was going to say on the cous-cous boil it and add whatever comes to mind :-D

Jill - that is awful about almost losing your sight!

AP - Thank you for the info on the sites. I am such a nerd, I went to Wal - Mart for my eye appointment. They had a nice selection, but your sites have better ones. Script specific sunglasses would be nice and looking forward to getting them! Never had them before.

How you doing? Have the Evil Parents respected your decision? No more dumping hysterical Juliet on your lawn? I suspect Romeo is still upset and a bear to be around. Know you hate hugs, but you get one any way (((())))

KaytieJ said...

Jill - pretty sparse around here. I think summer hit big time!!! That's ok - it'll pick up again in the rainy, snowy times.

I miss Really Frugal. She was so funny! I chuckled when dh was power washing our roof a couple weekends ago, about her hubby powerwashing and the outfits they wear!

Lisa said...

Hi, Tara and Jill! Tata, you say you're boring but I'm one one giving us all play by play action of buying eyeglasses...lol. Now, *that's boring. Jill, that's very scary what happened to you. Any ideas how it happened? And if there's some new, secret, exciting board, I wish someone would invite me! No offense to Daisy.

Kaytie, lots of people go to Walmart! They have cute stuff there! Like I said before, be very, very careful with your measuring, though.

Just treat couscous like rice and add whatever you like. It's good plain, too, although I like to cook it in broth.

All is fine here, I guess. Evil parents have more drama going on in their family but as long as they keep it there and not my front yard, I'm good. :-D

Lisa said...

Lol @ Tata. Sorry, Tara.

KaytieJ said...

Couscous is best with chicken broth and a dab of butter :::nodding:::
I then like putting in steamed broccoli, peas and scrambling up my chickens fresh eggs and doing it like stir fried rice. One of these days I am going to add bacon. Bacon makes everything better :-D

AP - Glad to hear they are keeping the drama off your turf!

Muliebrity said...

I thought I was about to have a whole crew of dudes here for dinner, but it didn't pan out. I was panicking. They should be over tomorrow night thought. Trying to finish this freakin monster playset.

PJ said...

Hi all. Tara's tatas and AP's specs.

Good convo here. Ha!

Erin said...

Hi! Ugh beyond busy this summer. By the time I sit down, it will be over!

A question: Did anyone room in a quad in college? My son just got his room assignment today,a nd he is in a quad. It is the only kind of room we *didn't see, and now I am trying too figure if he needs more/less than a double. ::sigh::

PJ said...

Erin - not a quad? A party quad?

J/K - daughter had a suite her sophomore year - they shared a common area and bathroom, and there was one single bedroom and two doubles.

How is it configured?

PJ said...

Sometimes the colleges have floor plans and dimensions on line.

PJ said...

Cous cous - top with grilled vegetables, drizzle of balsamic vinagrette, sprinkle with goat cheese or feta.

Erin said...

I looked on line and they don't have any floor plans. If it it something similar to what your daughter had, he will need less stuff.

PJ said...

Oh shoot, Erin.

Some quads (esp for freshmen) are just two bedrooms (two beds in each) with a common room in the middle and bathroom down the hall.

A lot of colleges have beds that can be lofted, and provide a dresser, desk, and closet space for each student. The bedrooms are sometimes a bit smaller than just a double, because they have the common room to share.

PJ said...

Erin - a lot of students buy the bare minimum, and then once they get that set-up they go shop with their parents for things to add - once they know how much room they have.

One roommate can bring a TV, and one can bring a mini frig. Better than having two of each.

(Having done this a few times with my kids).

PJ said...

Erin - you may have known all of this - just a few hints that helped us out.

Erin said...

Thanks CK. I am flying blind here. As luck would have it he knows 2 of his 3 roommates from school and sports. Hopefully we can figure out who is taking what. He is only 2 hours away, so if he needs something major I can get it to him.

PJ said...

Are you driving him there? We did a Target run after we got my kids moved in each time.

Lisa said...

Yay! Many peoples here. :-)
Well, at least compared to normal. CK, you caught me - I'm only getting new specs to check the tatas out. Too bad I'm not a tata girl. Can I check asses instead? I'll start with Tara, I promise.

And now I want couscous with peas, scallions, and eggs. And maybe some shrimp. Terrific.

KaytieJ said...

Erin - I stayed in a quad my sophomore year and I LOVED it. It was a huge room with spaces for bed, desk, dresser for each and two closets. Bathroom/showers/bathtubs were down the hall. On the top and bottom floor of the dorm were TV rooms. We only had to bring bedding linens, towels, toiletries, clothes and nowdays it would be a laptop. Sounds like he is going to be really close and so you would be able to pick up items after seeing what he really needs.

KaytieJ said...

CK - darn you! I had to scroll back to find out what the heck was going on with Tara's Ta Tas! LOL!

Karen said...

HI Daisy's!! Just got home not long ago from taking my cousin to the ER with migraine, but she is 31 weeks pregnant so they wanted to check her and the baby out, they are both fine, and she's back home again! I swear I never have time any more to just sit! and chat!! haha

Nice to see so many names chatting today!! I hope Shannon is ok and back soon! AP the glasses sound like a great deal. Is that for the frame and the lenses and everything? I think we talked when I got contacts exam from Walmart and have not been thrilled with any of the sample pairs they've given me. If the distance and mid-range site is good, then up close is horrible. If they get me good up close site, then the distance is horrible. I need something and think I might get glasses and just take them off to be online and read. Better than having reading glasses, like you said! I hated wearing glasses, but even if I just wear them to drive and at night, it will be a help! I'm not used to having to do ALL the driving, and there are times in unfamiliar areas that I really wish I could see better, and I know thats not good. I wonder if my exam for the contacts is good enough for them to just give me a prescription for glasses?

Karen said...

I have to watch Tay in the morning and its already after 2:30 - so I better get to bed, goodnight Daisies!!!

Deb said...

Good morning!

Jill - I figured you were staying off the computer being the ultimate SAHM these days! How is the potty training going?

I will say, my time is extremely limited on the internets these days because I only work 1/2 days now, and I am trying to be a productive mom/wife at home LOL!

We had steamed crabs last night for my grandmom's 85th birthday last night. We surprised her, and she was so happy! My kids outdid themselves making her cards and a good time was had by all.

I miss a lot of old friends too. I wish people would just speak up to start conversation.

I second missing RF - I really like her. Rhys should come back too.

I'll try to comment more, I'm just boring and I usually end up being a serial poster.

Deb said...

So, they pulled the plug on the cap in the gulf for more analysis, with nothing covering it at all now. So, it is a full blown gusher right now.

FFS.

Melissa said...

I missed talking with everyone last night. Hi EL, CK and Jill!! :( I spent my time away hacking down trees in someone else's yard. My life is full of excitement.

I hope Shannon gets her computer issues resolved soon so that she can come back and play.

Melissa said...

Deb-I can't believe how this whole mess is going. Some of these officials don't seem concerned at all about the effects of this spill. I happened to see something mentioned on the yahoo homepage that led me an article about them removing the cap for "further analysis". What a disaster. I truly feel for those along the coast that are being effected.

Deb said...

Melissa - I can barely stand it anymore. It just boggles my mind that they did not have a plan in place *before they started the drilling process in case of a catastrophe.

Anonymous said...

It seems like they have bungled this oil mess every step of the way - horrible!

Deb said...

Margaret - doesn't it seem that way? It just doesn't seem like they have a clear plan.

Muliebrity said...

I realized last night that I have been paying $28 a gallon for store bought goat's milk. eeeek!

Melissa said...

Whoa Mulie!! That's a lot for a gallon of milk-from any animal. How'd your milk making go the other day?

Erin said...

Mulie- What??? It is $3.50 for a half gallon here.

Deb said...

Wow Mulie, just buy a goat!

Lisa said...

Morning, all!

Mulie, there's not a child I could have possibly birthed that would have made it worth me paying $28 a gallon for milk.

Did y'all hear that not only has the new cap been "delayed", but the work on the relief wells, what they thought would be a permanent fix, has been suspended? What the hell is going on down there? Something is very much wrong and fishy, but what?

Erin said...

That is horrible AP. Last night they were talking about how close they were to containment.

Anonymous said...

It's gush, gush, gush. I think SW hit the nail on the head - if that spill was off the CA or mid-atlantic coasts it wouldn't be like this. Someone needs to step in and get a hold of this situation. Our govt and BP have done a shitty job and an injustice to all of us. Enough is enough!

Melissa said...

I saw that this moring, AP. I agree that something is very fishy about the whole thing.

Melissa said...

Not to take away from teh serious oil spill talk but I've got a question. I'm doing a sleep over for my almost 11 year old daughter and I have no idea what I should do as a favor. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Lisa said...

"Is that for the frame and the lenses and everything?"

Karen, yes, it is. But it doesn't include things like the thinner, lighter lenses or UV coatings. It's just for the frame and your standard lenses, no extras. If I find a pair from these I just love to death, I might reorder the same frame but with the super-thin lenses and all. I wanted to test the place out first.

Lisa said...

"I think SW hit the nail on the head - if that spill was off the CA or mid-atlantic coasts it wouldn't be like this."

See, while I think she was right about this to a degree, she felt it had to do with the politicians not giving a damn about the southern states, iirc. I don't agree with that, but I think it has something to do with the Gulf and someone's interests either there or elsewhere.

Melissa, a favor as in a little gift? What about some type of little manicure set or lip glosses and let them do some safe "spa" treatments at the sleepover?

Anonymous said...

11 year olds - how about a lip gloss and nail polish? If you have a 5 Below they sell them really cheap - you'll get like 6 little nail polishes in a set.

Lisa said...

I like how Margaret thinks. ;-)

Melissa said...

Yep, favors instead of goody bags or whatever that you do for the little ones. I was thinking along those lines, Margaret and AP-just didn't know if that would be off base or not. We're going to do manicures and my sister in law who used to work for Clinique is going to do "makeovers" for them. I think I'll hit Claire's and see what I can find in their 10 for $10 bins. If I have no luck there I'll go to the Dollar Tree.

Melissa said...

I second that, AP. I'm curious as to what todays random question will be. :)

Lisa said...

Oh, fun jewelry could be good! I can't imagine a parent objecting to a lip gloss or nail polish but you could always get approval ahead of time.

Did y'all see Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are not only back together but getting married? And they told her mom by having People magazine do a story on it because they are scared of telling her in person. Man...lol...there's some real maturity for you.

Melissa said...

I saw that this morning-about Levi and Bristol. That whole thing is kinda strange to me. I understand that some parents don't agree with the person that their "child" has chosen to be with. I guess I have issue with all of back and forth of name calling etc that they've done through the media.

Lisa said...

Oh, so do I. It's a train wreck. I find it all awfully coincidental to be happening as she's really stepping up her activities that appear to be pointing her in a direction to run for president, too. Makes me wonder how much Levi got paid...

Anonymous said...

Do you all ever get that not so fresh feeling?

Melissa said...

Yes, actually I do. Not so much since I started using Ban roll on deodorant at AP's suggestion a few weeks ago.

Lisa said...

Oh, Margaret, that might be one of your best yet. And yes, sometimes. You?

Melissa, glad the roll on stuff helped. I swear it's better than any other form!

Anonymous said...

Nope, I'm always fresh :)

PJ said...

Ha! Mulie.

Smells very fresh in here today.

Muliebrity said...

As for the $28 a gallon milk. It is sold in pints, but they are not short and fat, they are in an container that is tall and skinny, so I didn't really look to see how much was in it. I just bought and the boy gained 8 lbs and 4 inches in the past year drinking it. I forgot there were 8 pints to a gallon. 'bout shit my pants when I looked it up last night! Logan likes to drink it too, but we rarely let him because it was so expensive. I am not getting it from a small farmer-lady who had milks for $6 a gallon. We are probably just going to switch the whole family to it, because it is really good!

Lisa said...

"Nope, I'm always fresh :)"

Oh, someone is a smartass. ;-P

You will all notice that Kaytie didn't say someone else said that about the bitch landing...

Shana, hi! How are you! And look, more friendly faces wandering back in. That's always nice. :-)

"Grammater? I'm on a roll. I give up!"

I'm just glad no one pointed "sentance" out to you. Hehe!

"I am not getting it from a small farmer-lady who had milks for $6 a gallon."

I wish she had wines for that price. I'd buy Jill and me a couple of gallons of Moscato.

And I love this place, too. I just went to Publix and craved rutabaga, so I bought a nice one. Anyone want to peel that mother for me?

Hey ladies!

Weighing in on the oil tragedy...I read this on the Huffington Post -

"White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said the government didn't want potentially dangerous pressure tests on a new, tighter cap that has been placed on the well to go ahead until BP answers questions about possible risks."

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/07/14/gulf-oil-still-gushing-aft_n_645559.html?igoogle=1

What about the risks that the oil is posing on the environment, the innocent animals, the people - I just don't understand.

It makes no f'n sense and I am outraged.

I'm sure you can't tell.

It is absolutely ridiculous - it has been going on far too long and I don't think that we will ever recover.

ugggghhhh...

Lisa said...

Kristin, I agree. What's going to happen if they move ahead? The new, tighter cap blows and it...leaks? Well, we can't have *that now, can we? Something funny is going on here, I'm telling you. This administration doesn't want that damn thing stopped. Notice we hear nothing about the A Whale now, either.

Mulie, what's the deal with Swagbucks? How does it work and what do we get for using it?

Good morning ladies!

hot sunny day here on the East Coast.

Busy afternoon, dinner at Mark's aunt's house, then my kids are spending the night at my mom's because Mark and I are going rock fishing tomorrow with a friend on the Chesapeake Bay - I cannot wait!!!!

AP, It's like playing FarmVille, except you can earn actual things like gift cards and prizes! It's also kind of like ebates. Do you do ebates? Search through Swag Bucks instead of google, you can earn points, go to a website to shop through SB and earn points, there are surveys to earn points and you earn points when you refer people. Most people trade their points in for amazon.com gift cards. It is totally free and kind of addicting. I like free gift cards though and I have earn half the amount of a $5 amazon gift card in 3 days.

Goog morning!
Thanks, Mulie, I'll go take a closer look at it.
Anything new with anyone?

Goddammit, *good.

I hate when I type shit and it disappears!

I just read an article about a mayor in Texas who shot herself and her daughter. There is a lot of evil in this world.

Lisa said...

Oh, well, how dead is this place? Margaret, I heard something about that...why'd she do it?

Lol, I'm listening to a local newscaster and she just asked a fireman if his crew (out fighting a fire) was getting overheated in their firefighter costumes. He looked stunned, but managed to keep a straight face as he answered her. From there she proceeded to update us all on the busted oil pipe. And she said "busted" repeatedly. I do now know they've temporarily stopped the flow of oil from said busted pipe, though, so that's good!

Muliebrity said...

Let's hope they keep the oil stopped!

I just got enough SwagBucks for my 1st amazon $5 gift card. Cool.

Hey, Robin and congrats, Mulie.

Well, this is exciting. Any good gossip?

I got nothin'.

Lots of fingerpointing at the stepmom of the Kynon boy that's been missing out here.

Is the local newscaster a temp, AP? Glad she mentioned the new cap. Sheesh.

Lisa said...

Bah. Anything going on at MWOP?
I've been watching the last Casey Anthony hearing...that's one dysfunctional family. Cooked a cow part for dinner...if I can find my PSP disk to edit the pictures, I may blog about it. It's a quiet day.

Lisa said...

She's not a temp, Kaytie, but even that's no excuse for "fireman costume". Have they arrested the stepmom yet or still just pointing fingers?

KaytieJ said...

Cow part, AP. For the squeamish here, glad you put out a warning :-D Looking forward to it.

I believe it is all still under investigation. So sad.

I hope the oil cap works!

On the Mayor - it said the mayors husband died a few years ago but that they seemed like happy people. The daughter just graduated from high school. So sad.

OMG! I love these Mel Gibson tapes! They are so awesome! How is someone this batshit crazy?!

Lisa said...

I predict Mel's going to kill himself. I mean, I hope he doesn't but I can see him headed in that direction fast.

Margaret, Kaytie, that *is sad in both cases. People can do some ugly things.:-(

Just found blood in the baby's poop. :( Time to clean out my diet!

Lisa said...

Mulie, you just killed the hell out of it with that last comment, lol. I know I read it earlier and hit the X. Hope she's okay but man...ewww.

Sorry to hear about your baby, Mulie. Would regular formula be better?

Mel is whacked but that woman is looking for a payday. She should have gone to the police and not the media. She's putting her and her baby's life in danger.

Muliebrity said...

She would have to go on a special hydrolyzed formula that like, $28 for a small can, so I won't put her on formula until the problem gets worse. Hopefully it won't.

Man, that must be tough. I could not breast feed but the only problem we had with Hannah was she got gassy with the powdered stuff so we used the pre-made Enfamil in cans.
