...for the young girlie heathens in your life. There's a pretty interesting story about the pink ouija boards and the threat they pose here, too. *evil giggle*
Quick note here for anyone joining in for the first time - please take a sec and read the first post here, the one behind this one. It's got some info in it that might be handy to know. Thanks!
Kathleen, that's cool you could do a project on the Ouija boards in school! We used to play with them all the time and I had a few very disconcerting things happen in the process. I'm not one to freak out over things but the last time I played with one was just that...the last time. Ack. This article was interesting, though. Why are Christians so all fired up over it? I thought they didn't believe in the occult and all. If you don't believe in it, why be scared?
No, not mean at all! I'm not altogether sure that you would have the ability to sound mean! You are too much of a sweetheart for that.
I always liked it when somebody would come on the group board and let us know that they put up a new blog post on their personal blog. To me, it was a great reminder to go check it out.
Is that allowed here? I know there are a few people that don't have access to my blog and I'd gladly send them an invite.
Miss Tee Tee, first off, you *never have to ask to ask anything around here. Open your mouth and let 'er rip - it's all good. Second off, of course it's allowed. Anything is allowed but what I've got listed over there to the right. Basically, no spam. Otherwise, announce away!
We are all doing great. The gentlemen had a fun playdate and I had unexpected pizza for lunch. I don't get to have Pizza Hut often and today it hit the spot.
Laura- Pizza Hut sounds really good right now! I'm hungry and that thought isn't helping.
Nothing much going on around here. I think Mom and I will be headed to MS on Monday to see Sister and the girls. I'm looking forward to my time with them, as always. Baby V is already trying to crawl. Someone needs to remind that kid that she is only four months old!
AP, I love the little oppsie girl. There is something endearing about her boig ole noggin. I was so happy to find you I thioguht that I would just have to stalk your blog.
Laura, I think she's cute, too. I actually used to have this layout on another blog I've got that I abandoned ages ago and was hoping to use it again sometime. It, too, is an "Oopsie Daisy" blog. The layout is different now, but heh...I may as well share. http://oopsiedaisymemorials.blogspot.com/
AP- Is it horrible of me to laugh just a little at the memorial blog? I've always wondered about roadside memorials too. I mean, I get that it's a reminder to drivers to slow down. It just feels weird somehow.
Kathleen- I am happy to share! My e-mail address is aunttee1(at)gmail(dot)com. If you e-mail me with your e-mail address, I'll gladly send you an invitation.
Oh Ap! Your other site is evil/awesome. It's fascinating they have special signs to put out in those circumstances. People set up markers or crosses here but its just a make it your self type thing.
Tee, I have no idea why I abandoned it, really I have more pictures...I collect them. It was pretty much just a place to put them and I got lazy, I guess. I love roadside memorials, though...they crack me up. Sometimes I'll get out and really look closely at all the stuff people leave...fascinating. And thanks, Kathleen. It's always good when you can share such a quirky thing and people get your humor!
Kathleen- I send the invite! Please let me know if you don't get it.
AP- I've never gotten out of the car to look at them That never even crossed my mind! I remember back almost 11 years ago. The sister school to my high school was shot up buy a student. Oh, the massive sign in front of the school was covered with memorial things. It was crazy!
Just wanted to say hi before I hit the sack. It has been a long day here. I think we got almost 3 feet of snow. My home phone, internet, and TV were out all day but I finally got them back about an hour ago. Thank God! I didn't think my kids were going to survive another day being cooped up with nothing to do. I'm beat from shoveling snow. I'll have to catch up later. Goodnight!
Sandy, I may. Heck, thanks to Kathleen, I even have a follower there now! Because I'm all share-y, many years ago I lost a family member in a traffic accident. Some members of our family put one of these up and didn't tell me. The first time I saw it, I freaked. I was PISSED and took it down. But, over time, I came to understand that it was important to them to make that specific place sacred, I guess you'd say. I still never wanted to see hers but started finding others' to be sweet and very funny. Thus, a hobby was born. :-)
AP- I'm sorry to hear that you lost a family member like that. I would be angry too. To see a sign like that without it being discussed with the family is horrible. I remember pitching a fit after my aunt died. I had inherited her horse and some memebers of the family decided to decorate the outside of his stall as a memorial. I was not a happy girl.
Sandy- I sent it to you! Please let me know if it doesn't go through.
Kathleen- Thank you! I'm pretty fond up them myself! Anybody that knew me from other boards will tell you that I talk about them non-stop. You'll get sick of hearing it!
AP- Your mind is slipping again! I'm starting to get concerned, friend!
AP - The memorial website is really cool. I have never seen those pre-made signs before.
I used to drive to work on a road that had a HUGE fresh flower arrangement there everyday for years and years. And it gets really cold here, so they had to be replaced pretty often. Talk about devotion!
Rebecca, technically, those roadside memorials are illegal in Florida. They are very popular in the Hispanic/Latino areas and, well, we're Florida so we had tons. In an effort to clean up roadsides and still offer families a "site" that wasn't a traffic distraction, the DOT agreed to place these signs in the appropriate places. The thing is, people still decorate around them anyway.
Oh, there is a big debate going on about the same thing here in MN. I am not sure if technically they are legal or not, but MNDOT tries to be MN nice, and give families some warning if they are going to be removed because of safety issues or whatever. People do leave some very personal items. I saw panties once.
Tee - thank you. I feel odd being so interested in strangers lives, but like so many, I feel I have come to "know" people, and I just really like to learn about other people. I am *harmless* I promise. ;)
I am a SAHM with a husband and three kids (6, 10, 13.)
All right AP...I'll clean up my beer cans and shoes. I'm not moving the mattresses though cause I need a place to sit.
I'm not sure what the law is here but we have quite a few memorials. One is for a local high school football player who died the night the team won a championship game. They put a football helmet out with his number on it. It's actually quite sad.
Rebecca, yes, mattresses. We're such a transient area (economy, stupidity) that people move from place to place often and usually with the help of friends with pickups. I guess people figure that mattresses and box springs are heavy enough to not need secured. They're wrong.
Rebecca- I have so much respect for stay at home moms. Sister stays at home with her five little ones. I believe kids are meant to be raised at home. Are your children boys or girls?
Sandy- You are quite welcome! I hope you enjoy reading the blog.
Tee - I have two boys and a little girl. If I hadn't had the girl, I would still be trying, and probably would have kept going until I had a whole basketball team of boys! Except hubs would have said no way ;}
The thing I really wish could have been is that my daughter would have had a sister. There is just something about having a sister to confide in and love on. Mine is so dear to me, and I got to enjoy my nieces and nephews for quite a while before I had my own kids. I would love to adopt one more, but my husband will have nothing to do with it!
Well I will add this to my list of blog sites. I will still be at sips and I will say I harbor no harsh feelings at anyone at this point but I have had concerns about things and peeps but will not elaborate further on that.
I am glad that there is an easier place to keep up with others because I really do like some of ya'll that have left :)
Not sure how long I will be here tonight or if anyone is even around at this point LOL...Had a bad headache all day and I am a bit exhausted from dealing with it.
AP, on the Ouija board thing, whether Christians believe in the "occult" depends on what you mean by occult. Many Christians believe that there is "spiritual warfare" and the devil is literally out to get us. So to some of them, playing with a ouija board is opening yourself up to the influence of "evil spirits," which is essentially the devil and his minions.
I was raised Methodist, i.e. religion lite with lime, and "we" didn't believe that sort of thing. No fire and brimstone.
Oh!! I see Karen and Shannon - I'm so glad you guys are here and thanks for finding us. Most certainly you can be in both places...you can be and post anywhere you like, that's totally up to y'all. The first post here addresses all that stuff if y'all haven and have nothing better to do. Also, Shannon, the goal and hopefully the beauty of this place is that you can say anything you wish, address anything you wish, and just get things off your chest if you want. Just so you know. :-)
Good morning back to everyone. I forgot to say that.
SW, I'm just coming back, once again, to my normal state of confusion about how some Christians see God. Either He's all-powerful or He's not. If He is, why doesn't He just put an end to the Devil and all of the associated devilish fun and games? Or is He allowing all of this, including the Devil, to remain in order to watch how we handle it all? You know, are we God's own little game pieces? Or is He simply not all-powerful? This Ouija board thing raised these same questions. Why in the world would they fear this thing? Lol, nothing like questioning religious things on a Sunday morning, is there? Amen.
HAHAHA Just what I was looking for a good dose of religious debate talk :) Hell I have been sad because two of my most active debaters have been gone. Glad to know you are cool wit posting both places :)
Now why I was looking for religious debate on BF a gal asks, in a nice way, why do non christians ready Mcks blog....you know because she is such a strong christian and pillar of faith in her love for Jesus.
Do you know how hard I am fighting to not scream....SHE IS NOT A CHRISTIAN SHE IS EVERYTHING OPPOSITE WHAT A CHRISTIAN IS SUPPOSED TO BE....but then I remember that only a very very small handful of her readers are real christians either....they all talk the talk but are unable to walk the walk.
(1) he's all powerful (2) he will put an end to all the devilish games, after the Rapture (3) in the mean time, we need to stay away from ouija boards.
This stinks. I am starved. Got foodies yesterday but avoided grocery stores like the plague. Now I have to wait until the Super Bowl starts before I can even go shopping grrrr
ROFL! Shannon, as soon as I hit send on that, I thought about you. I love a good conversation about religion! I have to agree with you about JM and IM...calling oneself a Christian and believing what the Bible says doesn't make one Christian, I don't think, and you don't get extra Christian points for taking the Bible literally. Imo, you have to also walk the walk and, as far as I'm concerned, if you *really believe then walking that walk will come fairly naturally. It won't be a struggle.
"(1) he's all powerful (2) he will put an end to all the devilish games, after the Rapture (3) in the mean time, we need to stay away from ouija boards."
SW, so He's playing games with us...seeing how we all react to different stimuluses? Um, or is it stimuli? Anyway, we're like little lab rats? I can't say I don't get a kick out of that idea, I admit.
'Morning, Sandy! Shannon, not even a pop tart in the house? Man, just go on shopping now!
Yeah I think I have cereal but no milk...bread but nothing to put on it....UGH I am just scared of the party shoppers LOL they are as bad as Christmas shoppers :)
And I did make my post on BF I couldnt stop myself...and yes I failed miserably with my 12 steps to get away from BF LOL But here it is:
Now I know this is gonna get me flamed but I am going to say it anyway. It is no surprise I am no fan of the great JM and I honestly only skim most of her posts but the 'religious' posts i skim. That said I do not see JM as being so amazing Christian of woman of God....I have met some amazing women who were true representatives of a true woman of God. They are some of the most HUMBLE, GOD FOCUSED, kind-hearted, NON JUDGMENTAL, women I have ever met. In crisis the turn to God not to their blog to find comfort and peace. They are women who inspire a very non believing person such as myself and I can have doubts of where I sit watching them.....not even one single time with JM because I am sorry even when she is making the words appear to be oh God is so great it is all about her and how God made things better for her...not a great Christian.
Sorry not trying to be nasty or evil and I have thought on it and felt I had to answer since you asked.
I swear, there are some very intelligent women over there but there are also some that are truly among the most stupid I've ever seen. You just know people make fun of them in real life and not even behind their backs. Thing is, they never realize it.
LOL Why do you think I cant seem to pull myself out of there? Some gals you can have really good discussions with and others force you to respond to them because you are so completely WTF???!!!
Same here, Sandy and I admit I'm guilty of doing it, too. Little snide remarks that you know others catch and chuckle at, yet she never grasps what is happening. The funniest part is, she'll actually tell you how intelligent she is and means it.
Feeling super lazy today - Patti is napping, I just got up 2 hours ago - not ready for a nap quite yet! but its going to be one of those lazy days, we haven't had that for a long time! Our car is broken!! We will be car-less until Tuesday - so good time to have a lazy stay in your jammies all day kind of day right?
We've had a slow leak in the radiator that we keep just adding antifreeze and stop leak and hoping it limps along for a while. Yesterday on the way to the grocery store to pick up the birthday cake for my grandson's 2nd bday party - it starts overheating... we buy more antifreeze and add it... start driving to the party and its overheating... we shut it off at the side of the road, cool down, start back up - and it overheats again less than 1/4 mile... called my son and he said its probably the water pump AND the radiator now. So we parked it in a hospice center parking lot (home for almost dead car?) and my mom came to pick us and all the party foods and cake and Tay and took us to the party. By the time we got home, we were able to drive the very very cold car the 1 mile home, and it will have to sit there until Tuesday when we have the $$ to fix it. So technically we are in for 2 lazy days, although I think tomorrow is going to be cleaning day for me!
And check your oil and your radiator fluid....make sure there is no rainbows going on in there....If you have water in your oil or oil in your water it may be too late. You may also want to get a compression test done on your engine to be safe....Blown head gaskets are frequent with overheating cars and I have had it happen to me before...NO BUENO.
I can barely afford the new radiator and water pump - not looking to buy a new engine! This car we bought after we moved to Ohio from my sister - it was her daughters, and her daughter went to WA to college, so they were getting rid of it for her. 94 Jeep Cherokee in pretty decent shape. Well, since we paid $1500 on it 6 months ago, we have had to replace the battery, the brakes and rotors, the front windshield, it needs a new passenger side mirror, and now the radiator and water pump. My neice named it Charlie - I knew it had to be a man.. its pissing me off so bad!!!
well the problem with the radiator fluid is that the resovoir was full, but it wasn't sucking to the radiator... it was empty! didn't check the oil, but will do that - water in the oil = no bueno for sure! my ex was really good at working on cars, and i used to stand in the driveway and help/watch him when we first got together, so i know a few thing about cars... but my son knows about them too - so he will fix it for us... hopefully it won't be TOO expensive as this was NOT what I was hoping to have to spend money on! its always something!!
Hello ladies! We got more snow. yay. Can you smell my sarcasm?
I must say I tend towards atheism just because I can't wrap my head around a "loving" god letting so many bad things happen if he is omnipotent and he could stop them but he doesn't. (So that we have the choice to do right?) Like child abuse/molestation. Kids are innocent, and they don't have a choice, they can't stop the pain by prayer, etc...
****(WAY GRAPHIC, SAD, AND HORRID. SKIP THIS NEXT PART IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ ABOUT CHILD ABUSE)***
There was a little girl, 5, her parents left her with family friends, as they were unable to care for her. (this is in Tuba city, not too far from here) The story broke a few weeks ago. Aside from the "normal" abuse of beatings, belt whippings, cigarette burns, these assholes removed her teeth with pliers each time she "misbehaved". So If I was god, I'd have stopped that long before it got to that point. And you can tell me those people will go to hell when they die, but that baby girl is in hell now, while alive. And it makes me cry. And it makes it hard for me to believe in any benevolent deity who won't stop that.
Shannon good idea - I'm taking the boy parts out of him while he's under anesthesia and being worked on, and changing her name to Charli - then she will start behaving and making us happy again!!! haha great idea!
Kathleen, sorry to change the subject in the middle of your discussion!!
I have had those same thoughts - IF there is an all powerful God, why allow those terrible things to happen to innocent children!?
My sister - is a major bible beater - she tells me it is to teach a lesson to others... I see no lesson in allowing a child to suffer!
She also tells me that the sins of the parents - sometimes the children have to pay the price. If anyone has to pay the price for my sins in the past - do it to ME - leave innocent children out of it!!
Nice to "meet" you Kathleen - I'm not sure I know you - do I?
Kathleen I am a lot the same way. If everything is God's will and God's plan why do things like that happen? If that is how God rolls well sorry but he can go F*ck himself hard.
Bella I am very not excited for the super bowl...is it over yet???!!!! I can honestly say there will be no signs of football in this house today and if we are lucky I will go grocery shopping without fear after the game starts
I hear you. We are going to a friends house for the game, but that usually has men huddled around the TV and the girls in the kitchen talking. I'm ok with that kind of Superbowl party!
Hi guys! Thanks for letting me know about this place AP! I don't have anything exciting to add, but wanted to say I am glad to see y'all here. I used to be FalkFamily, btw. Going back to lurking now!
Karen, maybe we know each other, sorta. I mainly lurked at OHIH, and have skulked around on some of the ladies blog since then, just waiting for AP to start a blog we All can play on, I guess.
Yeah that sins of the parents thing irks me too, A child no control over what his parents do, why should they be punished for it. You Shannon and I should start a cult...HA HA HA.
Bella, I'm ready for the vittles my self. All I have to make is cornbread...
I don't know how I found my way here, but hope I can be included ;-) Missed you ladies when you were at the closed blog, hope this will be more open! Happy superbowl sunday. I have pulled pork going in the crock pot, smells so good! Gotta wait until later though.
LOL HI suz....It will be. Did you get coleslaw to put on it also? My friend did and it was sooo good. He also got a variety of rolls to eat it on. All I can say is I may end up trying to make my own :)
hmmm, coleslaw, nope did not get that, in fact I never even thought about that. Damn..sounds like I should make a quick trip to the store, that sounds like it would be great on top. Is there any good premade coleslaw? I have only ever eaten it once, but liked it.
The good news is that I, who never win anything, won a Wii, and a $100 gift card to Fogo de Chao (Brazilian restaurant) last night at the company party.
CK, we only play the sports on it, actually. The bowling is so much fun, and a great game when you play with friends.
We do play Rock Band from time to time, too, but that requires all the extra gear, the guitar, microphone, drums, etc. I love it because it is like interactive karaoke.
Congrats CK! That's awesome. Fell free to add to the theology discussion at any time, I don't think time flows particularly linearly on these boards...
CK, how was the night away? Congrats on winning! I never win anything either. Have you heard of a reverse drawing raffle? It's where in order to determine who wins, they draw out all the names, one by one, and the last person wins.
Bella, how was your evening with family?
It's not too late to continue the theological discussion, CK. I haven't caught up with the recent posts, but it looks like your viewpoint is sorely needed. :-)
Okay, I'm at the point in my pre-party prep where I don't see how I'm going to get there from here. My energy is flagging and I still haven't cleaned a thing.
I've done a lot of cooking though. The cookies are done, meatballs are rolled, the layered chicken dip is done, bacon cooked for the baked bacon dip, just blanched asparagus. Which I do very poorly. My asparagus always comes out wilty, no matter how careful I try to be during cooking. I think it's because I really like my vegetables cooked to death, the Southern way. So even though I think I'm all fancy gourmet now, I'm subconsciously clinging to the idea that vegetables aren't supposed to be crisp. Oh well. I'll eat them if nobody else will.
We had a good night last night, a little engagement party for Jay's brother and his new fiancee. My brothers came out as well. We played darts, which I love!
She is young, and a bit spoiled, but we get along. I think that she and I are at different stages in our lives. It's Jay's only brother, so, we definitely work to make it work. She is a little Bridezilla in the making, though!
Hi my name is Trudy and i'm addicted to Mario for wii. I can spend hours on it. We are not doing anything tonight i just tossed a raost in the oven and will be calling it dinner. Boyfriend will watch the game and i'll make jewlery and pretend i'm watching with him. I do miss the parties but not in the mood and BF is working all day. Hi FF/Lindsey I've missed you. Thanks again AP for this place.
Hi All! Shannon back from the store with slaw. I never thought of KFC dang it. lol, no well it will be a great addition. CK, I love our wii. We bought the Wii resort sport package. It has to have special nunchucks but it is a blast. I like the sword fighting lol!
Trudy, I have never tried the Mario wii, that sounds fun too.
Hi to Suz and Lindsay! It's so nice seeing old faces joining back in. :-)
No Super Bowl enthusiasm here at all. I wouldn't even know who was playing if not for Robin and Tee and the Saints talk. I do miss the SB parties, though. No one around here ever has one...or maybe they do and just don't invite me.
Kathleen, your story of the little girl is horrendous. I can't fathom doing that to my worst enemy, let alone a defenseless child. But, I do believe in God, quite strongly, and think He hates these things happening too, but doesn't step in because He thinks long-term. The suffering this child went through? May have far-reaching effects on changing the character of people (not speaking here of the animals who did that to her - they are beyond redemption) who, perhaps, need something so horrific to catch their attention and cause them to make changes that will leave this world in a better place. Now, who knows if I'm right but in my head, this makes sense.
No party for us here. Friends invited us, but neither of us are in the mood.
This year in general we've been a bit more like hermits - just not feeling as social as before. And being okay with that - not going to things because we think "we have to". Permission to lay low is a good thing when you need it.
AP.. thanks for another place to come and hang out :P. Well said on Kathleen's story. Is such a shame.. Ah damn, why'd ya all go mention bacon?? now I gotta go back out..lol! I love me some bacon.
AP, sure, I'll get you the recipe. I've never made it before, but I've had it and it's crazy good.
By the way, did you watch the shuttle video I posted the link for.
I'm T minus two hours, 10 minutes. Not in full blown panic, but not sure why. Lots left to be done. I don't give a rat's ass about the game, AP. It's just an excuse to have folks over.
Wish me luck, and I'll report back when it's over!
T-20 minutes to kick off. Hope it is a good game and that Peyton shows what a great quarterback he is (hope I did not jinx the guy). I plan to sit in my chair, cross stitch and take frequent trips for Mom's homemade garlic dip with chips.
Back from swimming at the Y. CK - that is nice. Hub's company is so all or nothing - either they are living large and have a huge party, or zero. Don't they know it is my social life?
I'm back. I didn't get bacon but I got salt pork and some smoked jowls. That might be even better than bacon!
Walmart? Was insane. I've never seen so many couples bickering in my life. I had to wonder if it's because the guys wanted to be doing SB stuff and not shopping at Walmart with their wife and kids.
On a totally unrelated note, does anyone here talk to Lee or know how to reach her and if so, could you give her the link and tell her she's beyond welcome? Thanks!
"By the way, did you watch the shuttle video I posted the link for.

I did and I think I commented back on the old post. God, I think I remember that...lol. I'll go look and c&p it here. As for the excuse to have folks over, I really should do that more. I've become so hermity and picky about people in real life.
We all need that bacon dip recipe, too. Does anyone want me to see if I can figure out how to do a recipe link place here, too? Or are we good just posting them here or on our personal blogs?
Nikki, I did write you a poem. But then I played a part in getting you and your vagina kicked off SIP. Speaking of which, while Nikki knows I feel really bad for that, I'd like to publicly apologize to her, too. I totally over-reacted to, well, not much...and then voiced it. I'm very, very sorry about that, Nikki.
Thanks, Nikki, I really appreciate that. The poem is somewhere on OHIH, I think. Which means it's lost. Unless, of course, Krista turns up here and we can get back in. Yeah, I know. I'm a dreamer. :-D
My very devout Catholic grandmother got me a Ouija board for Christmas on year when I was about 11 or 12. I played with it one night at a sleep over and things started falling off my walls. It was promptly put away. I have never used it again, but it did move with my family from Fl to Ga. It is still at my mom's house and I won't take it or get rid of it.
oh...to put it in context, in case some missed it, or were wondering about AP's knowledge of my undergarments, or lack thereof, and how i trim the hedges...
it was regarding the "hairless hairy taco" conversation on SIP!!
Jill, thanks! I assume you mean R2 so Trudy or Kristin, could you do it? It's okay if she doesn't want to come - I just want her to know she's thought of and wanted, at least.
Jill, your final experience was similar to mine. I'm not at all scared by the idea of ghosts or such normally, but we were playing one night (we were 16 or so, spending the night at a friend's house) and asked "it" to show proof "it" to show proof it was in the room with us. There were 3 of us and we'd each just gotten drinks with a lot of ice in them. When we asked that, every single ice cube in all three glasses cracked simultaneously. It took us, three nearly grown women, all of 30 seconds to be in the one friend's parents' bed, hysterical. They sort of blew us off and let us sleep on their bedroom floor, planning on dealing with it the next morning. Turns out, it caused our drinks to spray out some, something we(and her parents) could easily see the next morning, all dried on stuff that Mary would have never let be messed up. They took the thing to a local church and told the pastor what happened, leaving it with him. I never touched one again.
Nikki, we played for years and years without asking that question. Another funny thing was that it told me once I'd marry a man named "Hargrove Applestem" and described him. I laughed, for obvious and various reasons and forgot about it. The one girl, Mary, upon meeting my (now ex) husband for the first time over ten years later, said "Well, the Ouija board got the name wrong but sure pegged the description, didn't it?" And yes, it did. Short, chubby, balding, emerald eyes and no eyebrows, something that cracked us up at the time. Not at *all what a lesbian with a penchant for Latin women would ever pick...yet there he was, just with a different name and eyebrows that had maybe 10 hairs in each one.
Ouija board? Would never touch one again. In High School we all went through a phase where we were addicted to it. Very creepy.......On of my buddies dad had just died, and his name came up on the board etc. The girls all cried! I just would like to know how it does this.
Just finished a photo album on facebook of all my tattoo's - and I forgot who I told I would do that and share, but there they are if anyone wants to see them!
Everyone is welcome! The only real rules here are no spamming shit and no posting personal addresses, phone numbers or other similar info. I don't need that kind of stress. That's it, although it could change if someone gets creative or something. If you don't like what is said here, you can: 1) Say so; 2) Hold it in and stew on it; 3. Address it privately to the person who said it; 4) Snark about it to your friends; 5) Leave. Don't bother me with it, I don't care and I won't get involved. I might, however, talk about you behind your back or post your email/message to me on here. *grins*
Them's the rules...all of them.
Have fun!

The parents on Toddlers and Tiaras should be ashamed of themselves. Good grief, those woman are nuts.
Quick note here for anyone joining in for the first time - please take a sec and read the first post here, the one behind this one. It's got some info in it that might be handy to know. Thanks!
AP, may I ask a question? I read the rules and will happily follow them but I have a question.
Of course, Tee! Ask away. Did I sound that mean? ;-)
HEY THERE! Glad to find you all.
Yeah, AP, like the fellow said, if you don't like a toy, don't buy it.
Hello Laura! How are you and the gentleman doing today?
Miss Tee Tee, first off, you *never have to ask to ask anything around here. Open your mouth and let 'er rip - it's all good. Second off, of course it's allowed. Anything is allowed but what I've got listed over there to the right. Basically, no spam. Otherwise, announce away!
Laura - yay!! I'm glad to see you. :-))
We are all doing great. The gentlemen had a fun playdate and I had unexpected pizza for lunch. I don't get to have Pizza Hut often and today it hit the spot.
What's new with you, Tee?
AP- Fair enough! I just wanted to make sure before I started trouble somehow. I have a knack for starting trouble without realizing it!
In that case, I have a new blog post up if anyone is interested. If you don't read my blog and you would like to, I'll happily send you an invitation.
MMMMMM Pizza. MMM especially the greasy delicious pan pizza hut kind...
Tee, I'll take an invite to your blog, if you'd like to share.
AP- Is it horrible of me to laugh just a little at the memorial blog? I've always wondered about roadside memorials too. I mean, I get that it's a reminder to drivers to slow down. It just feels weird somehow.
What prompted you to abandon the blog?
Kathleen- I am happy to share! My e-mail address is
aunttee1(at)gmail(dot)com.
AP: You need to post more of those pics. That was awesome.
I love all that paranormal stuff. I sit here by myself and watch all the Ghost Hunter stuff.
I'd love a Ouija but knowing my luck my dead FIL would come and haunt me.
I agree with Sandy. You should post more pictures. I'll take some down here for you!
CPTWife, glad you made it back...so many are being hit hard. How much did you get?
Tee, send me memorial pics and I'll use them. Anyone else, please do the same and I'll stick them up. It could be fun to get it started again!
CPTWife- You've had a rough day! I hope you are able to get some sleep tonight.
AP- Gladly! I'll send you some from down here.
Did I make everyone run away?
Nah, I was reading your blog. Your wee lasses are dears.
Yes, Tee, I ran away and will never come back.
Wait. Wrong blog. :-D
Tee--I emailed you for an invite if that's okay.
I'd be pissed too if I saw a family member's memorial and nobody told me.
Tee -
You don't know me, but I used to lurk at OHIH, later on when you get to know and trust me I would really enjoy an invite to your blog.
Rebecca- Wow, that is devotion! Crazy!
I'm happy to invite you to my blog now. Just send me an e-mail address!
aunttee1(at)gmail(dot)com I'm looking forward to getting to know you better!
Why would they be illegal? Just because they are a distraction?
Oh, there is a big debate going on about the same thing here in MN. I am not sure if technically they are legal or not, but MNDOT tries to be MN nice, and give families some warning if they are going to be removed because of safety issues or whatever. People do leave some very personal items. I saw panties once.
Tee - thank you. I feel odd being so interested in strangers lives, but like so many, I feel I have come to "know" people, and I just really like to learn about other people. I am *harmless* I promise. ;)
I am a SAHM with a husband and three kids (6, 10, 13.)
That and because when you have quite a few, they make the roadsides look messy. We have enough trouble with beer cans, mattresses and shoes.
Mattresses?
All right AP...I'll clean up my beer cans and shoes. I'm not moving the mattresses though cause I need a place to sit.
I'm not sure what the law is here but we have quite a few memorials. One is for a local high school football player who died the night the team won a championship game. They put a football helmet out with his number on it. It's actually quite sad.
Tee-I got the invite. Thank you very much.
Sandy, that would be sad.
AP- Seriously? It doesn't dawn on them to secure a mattress? Wow, that's pretty sad.
I made everyone run away again. Oh well, it's time for bed anyway. See ya'll later!
Tee - I have two boys and a little girl. If I hadn't had the girl, I would still be trying, and probably would have kept going until I had a whole basketball team of boys! Except hubs would have said no way ;}
The thing I really wish could have been is that my daughter would have had a sister. There is just something about having a sister to confide in and love on. Mine is so dear to me, and I got to enjoy my nieces and nephews for quite a while before I had my own kids. I would love to adopt one more, but my husband will have nothing to do with it!
Goodnight Everyone.
Glad to see ya's
AP!!! I am glad to find you here! I was missing you!! I echo what Shannon said - am I allowed to come to this blog and sips both?
Hi Shannon!!
Hi Karen!!
Umm...Kaaaren & Shaaannon!! Woot! Ahem...I mean, Hey Ladies, hows it goin'? =0)
It's going Shana how you doing???
Hey Shana! how are you? I love getting a WOOT at this time of the night!! woo hoo!
Kristin - I'm VERY glad to see you here too!
and SW
and I haven't yet read to catch up enough to see who else, but love seeing the familiar names! I missed alot of you!!
I'm doing good! Good to *see you both =0)
I hate to pop in and leave, cause I just found this blog exists and now its time for bed - but... I'll be back!!!
Night all!
Alright, I made a post about the ice cream cake. It turned out pretty good, I think. 'Night ladies.
Good Morning Everyone! Have A Great Day!
Morning all! Special welcome to Shannon and Karen - I've missed you!
Morning ladies
Hi Jill! Hope you are having a good weekend. I'm baking cookies. Tee, I didn't forget tha you want the recipe. I'll post it to your blog.
Ahhh. I love seeing y'all again!
AP:
(1) he's all powerful
(2) he will put an end to all the devilish games, after the Rapture
(3) in the mean time, we need to stay away from ouija boards.
It's not that complicated. ;-)
Morning Shannon!
Mornin SW :)
Good Morning...I no longer read her blog or BF. It gives me heartburn. ;)
"(1) he's all powerful
(2) he will put an end to all the devilish games, after the Rapture
(3) in the mean time, we need to stay away from ouija boards."
I'd go shopping now too. The stores were packed here yesterday...so it might not be so bad if you venture out.
My mom goes grocery shopping on Sunday and she always says she has to go before the church people get out!
AP, I'm in agreement with you.
See, now that makes me want to go read BF and I try not to. I get pissed off every time.
LOL AP now that is why I posted it here so you wouldnt have to soil yourself by going there :)
I'm not going to drink the kool aide..Damn Shannon now I have to go there. lol
I swear, there are some very intelligent women over there but there are also some that are truly among the most stupid I've ever seen. You just know people make fun of them in real life and not even behind their backs. Thing is, they never realize it.
I hear ya AP. I have a friend who rides the line on that one.
Shannon, if we get really lucky, some of them will come here. :-D
Morning everyone! thanks for the welcome AP
LOL That would be ok...some of them are pretty ok :)
AP, the funny thing is my friend is very intelligent but dumb as a box of rocks at the same time. lol
Sandy, the one I know is book-smart on a few things, I'll admit. The rest? Common sense stuff? Not even close.
Karen, what happened to the car? Either way, a lazy day is good. :-)
Shannon, I think it would be fun to get some of the more annoying ones here - no worries of banning or threads being deleted or closed...
Alrighty, I'm out of here until later. I've got chores, have to run Jake to work, need to meet up with Shannon at a grocery store somewhere...
Hey, I keep forgetting to ask - SW, did you say you're a brunette? *perk* You look like a freckled redhead in that picture!
Yeah Karen do NOT drive that car anymore or you will be looking at getting a new car unless you can afford a new engine :)
I hear ya Karen it is always something and always at the worst time too!!!!
Hopefully it is nothing major with the car and with a sex change she will be good to go.
Sorry, ya'll, you have way changed the subject...
Morning, kids.
Is anyone else not excited for the Superbowl? The only thing I am excited about is the appetizers!
OH yeah....hell maybe I will buy Superbowl snacks just to have some of the goodness without the yuck of the sports :)
Hi Lindsay! (I look at your photo and want to type FF, lol! It's what I am used to!)
Kathleen, four words: Parmesan Spinich Artichoke dip. YUM!
WOOOHOOOO Kathleen I have wanted to start a cult for years!!!
Bella, YUM! With sour dough toast to dip in...
Let us plan, Shannon, Let us plan...
I don't know how I found my way here, but hope I can be included ;-) Missed you ladies when you were at the closed blog, hope this will be more open!
Happy superbowl sunday. I have pulled pork going in the crock pot, smells so good! Gotta wait until later though.
My friend made his first pulled pork yesterday....YUMMMMMM!!!!!
The cult of question all you are told to believe because "they" say so LOL
Hi Shannon! I have never made it before so I hope it is as good as it smells.
Suz, great to see you! How have you been?
Bella,
Hi, I am doing good! Just kick'n it on a cloudy Sunday morning. How about yourself, how are you doing??
LOL HI suz....It will be. Did you get coleslaw to put on it also? My friend did and it was sooo good. He also got a variety of rolls to eat it on. All I can say is I may end up trying to make my own :)
Shannon,
hmmm, coleslaw, nope did not get that, in fact I never even thought about that. Damn..sounds like I should make a quick trip to the store, that sounds like it would be great on top. Is there any good premade coleslaw? I have only ever eaten it once, but liked it.
Just laying around in PJ pants for now, which is a great Sunday in my book! I've been good...being a boring adult, work, home, sleep, repeat!
Bella, lol.. a good day indeed!
Ok I am off to find coleslaw.hehehe..Thanks shannon!
You got a KFC close by???? That would be an easy way to get some LOL
If not there in the salad area they have bags of coleslaw and you just buy the dressing for it....very tasty on the sandwhich.
Mini-vacation is over. Husband is at a meeting. I am at Brueggers catching up with you all over a cinnamon sugar bagel with cream cheese.
Sorry I missed the theology discussion this a.m. Love that kind of talk.
The good news is that I, who never win anything, won a Wii, and a $100 gift card to Fogo de Chao (Brazilian restaurant) last night at the company party.
I'm SO glad to see so many of you here.
CK, I would say that is a big win? Are you going to keep the Wii? It is so fun.
Yes Bella - it's a huge win! I was like a little kid.
We don't have any kind of game system, so we're keeping it.
It came with the sports package - what else would you recommend we get?
CK, we only play the sports on it, actually. The bowling is so much fun, and a great game when you play with friends.
We do play Rock Band from time to time, too, but that requires all the extra gear, the guitar, microphone, drums, etc. I love it because it is like interactive karaoke.
Congrats CK! That's awesome. Fell free to add to the theology discussion at any time, I don't think time flows particularly linearly on these boards...
Hi all! So happy to see all the traffic here!
Thanks Bella - we'll for sure check out the bowling.
SW - night was good - appetizers and drinks (pretty decent cosmopolitan in a wine glass (no martini glasses).
Hotel was nice - a bit dry - but we did get a king sized bed. All in all a nice, short vacation.
Congrats on the win CK!
**Waving hi to Bella**
Hey, SW and Sandy!
We had a good night last night, a little engagement party for Jay's brother and his new fiancee. My brothers came out as well. We played darts, which I love!
SW, all your food sounds fabulous.
Do you like the fiance, Bella?
I'm giving myself two more minutes to sit on my ass and then I'm cleaning the bathroom and dining room. I swear.
She is young, and a bit spoiled, but we get along. I think that she and I are at different stages in our lives. It's Jay's only brother, so, we definitely work to make it work. She is a little Bridezilla in the making, though!
Laundry time, see y'all later!
CK that restaurant is awesome! That will be so fun.
A reverse raffle sounds cool - kinda keeping the suspense going for a while longer...
Trudy, how is the Mario for Wii? I have been wanting to play it.
At my boyfriends work party for Christmas the last name that they draw always wins a big flat screen T.V.
Bella, Did you like the other Mario's, if you did you'll love it.
I have a feeling after i go to the Dr. on tues. I'll be geting the Wii fit soon.
Hi Trudy, I'm Rebecca. That is a suh-weet prize. Have you ever won it???
I do like the originals, so maybe I'll get it!
The Wii fit pisses me off, since you have to put in your height and weight...I get a fat little oompa loompa Mii. LOL!
Hi Rebecca, No but we always win good prizes.
I am a fat oompa loompa so maybe it will help me having to have to look at it.
I can remember when my step daughters were little we would stay up all night trying to save the Princess.
Also with the Wii up to 4 people can play together.
My husband's company is so cheap, they don't even have a party...
Back again - Rebecca, last we year didn't have a holiday party. This year they didn't do dinner, just appetizers.
Does anyone know if the Wii has DDR, or Guitar Hero?
I will need my son and DIL teach me how to run it.
And how to write without leaving words out.
Baked bacon dip? For real? Can I have the recipe?
Hi to Suz and Lindsay! It's so nice seeing old faces joining back in. :-)
No Super Bowl enthusiasm here at all. I wouldn't even know who was playing if not for Robin and Tee and the Saints talk. I do miss the SB parties, though. No one around here ever has one...or maybe they do and just don't invite me.
Suz you will notice that the slaw will make the pulled pork perfect!!!
LOL AP I am so tempted to go shopping to have a not Superbowl party :)
There is no need to celebrate a bunch of grown men running after a ball making millions LOL
CK, congrats on the win...how was the bed?
Shannon, I'm going shopping in a bit and may do the non-SB party idea myself. Not a bad idea! I'm still hung up on the whole bacon dip thing, though.
I know there has been so much talk of bacon today that I may only make it out of the store with pounds of bacon :)
Bed was good, AP. King. Lots of room. (we have a queen at home)
Did I hear some one say bacon?? I'm like the dog in the commerical.
Yesterday while having lunch at Costco, they had a demo of bacon wrapped shrimp. Oh my they were good.
AP.. thanks for another place to come and hang out :P. Well said on Kathleen's story. Is such a shame..
Ah damn, why'd ya all go mention bacon?? now I gotta go back out..lol! I love me some bacon.
Sandy,
Bacon wrapped anything!
Suz, if I wasn't cleaning my kitchen from top to bottom today, I'd go and get bacon just to get bacon.
Angie
Good luck, Angie! Hope you have fun.
T-20 minutes to kick off. Hope it is a good game and that Peyton shows what a great quarterback he is (hope I did not jinx the guy). I plan to sit in my chair, cross stitch and take frequent trips for Mom's homemade garlic dip with chips.
Have great evening and enjoy the game.
What's with all the no pants commercials? LOL. Esp. the one in the office.
Thanks!
while i missed the convos...i did NOT miss having to catch up after being away!
i just skimmed through...and a big ole hello to all. so glad to chit chat with you guys again!
and AP - i saw your comment to me on your inaugural post...how could i hate your ass? you wrote me a poem about my vagina!!
oh...and a big ole hell-NO to the ouija board!!!
i'm scared of the ghosties!

Lee has been over on MWoP. I'll see if I can find an e-mail.
I think i might still have Lee's e-mail, i'll look.
No luck - there isn't a link to her blog. I'm pretty sure it's her because on earlier posts she wrote about taking care of her son.
Early posts at MWoP, that is. Gotta slow down.
If anyone finds Lee, I get her need for privacy. Maybe she could use a fake name here and just let us know it's her?
bygones, AP. you have owned up to the misunderstanding to me (and now, publicly, to boot), when you didn't have to.
which is a HELLUVA lot more i can say for someone else i know!!
Could we possible have a re-print of the poem?
Thanks, Nikki, I really appreciate that. The poem is somewhere on OHIH, I think. Which means it's lost. Unless, of course, Krista turns up here and we can get back in. Yeah, I know. I'm a dreamer. :-D
AP Kristin and Robin both have Lee's e-mail.
I can't find Lee's e-mail. I really like Lee and hope she finds this place.
not lost...i c&p'ed it!
while i was not guilty of c&p'ing info from SIP to fellowship...i am guilty of holding onto the poem about my vagina!!
in all its' glory and splendor...which is an introduction that every woman's vag deserves!!!
nikki doesn't wear her panties
not plain or long or full of fancies
hoohah here and hoohah there
hoohah doesn't have its hair
- Anemone Pie, 2009
oh...to put it in context, in case some missed it, or were wondering about AP's knowledge of my undergarments, or lack thereof, and how i trim the hedges...
it was regarding the "hairless hairy taco" conversation on SIP!!
hilarious!
Nikki, I'm so honored you saved that...ROFL!!
holy hell, AP!! that's freaky! i played with one a few times...and am soooooo glad i never asked a questino like that!
Not at *all what a lesbian with a penchant for Latin women would ever pick...yet there he was, just with a different name and eyebrows that had maybe 10 hairs in each one.
i don't know what's funnier...the name or the description!!
Weirdly, he was a nice looking man despite how I describe him. He looks a lot like Christian Slater. You know, if Christian Slater was on crack.
Good Evening ladies!
Ouija board? Would never touch one again. In High School we all went through a phase where we were addicted to it. Very creepy.......On of my buddies dad had just died, and his name came up on the board etc. The girls all cried! I just would like to know how it does this.
Ap, How do you get this font and lettering? I like it!

Just finished a photo album on facebook of all my tattoo's - and I forgot who I told I would do that and share, but there they are if anyone wants to see them!
Evening! Anyone else watch the Who on Superbowl?
Tap, Tap, Tap.
(Everyone must be in a food coma.)
Or it was the rapture and I was left behind?
Wait.....I expect some of you would still be here with me too.

Yes, you said this...
