I'll go first.

BAchelor? Thoughts? Other than that I'm still embarrassed for Jake for the whole gyrating of the hips and trying to stick his crotch section anywhere in Gia's general vicinity during the street dance theme? Or the very, very dorky pirate walk the plank scene with Vienna? Seriously.

Amazing Race? Early favorites? I watch the PBR and have been a bull-riding fan of Cord McCoy there, but the whole, "aw, shucks, we're jist country boys" thing is irritating the crap out of me. My favorites so far are the brothers with one gay, "all the way," and one ... not. Love them. So funny.

Lisa said...

What network carries Amazing Race? I always mean to watch that since I love it in reruns.

Angie said...

Corinne, fois gras is one of the few things (like veal) that I just can't stomach the thought of eating.

It seems wrong to me. Which doesn't mean I'm not a big ole' hypocrite. Hell, I eat KFC, I've got no room for moral superiority!

Angie said...

Robin, I posted last night that Vienna was more likeable than I've ever seen her last night. Guess she only "shines" when no girls are around, huh?

On AR, I'm team Jeff and Jordan all the way. They were so cute on Big Brother! I was completely shocked that they came in first though. They are Not. Smart.

Angie said...

AP, AR is on CBS. You can watch full episodes online and catch up. Do! The first episode is the only one that has aired.

Robin in Montana said...

AP - CBS, Sundays (at 9:00, I think.) I miss the days of Miss Alli recapping it at TWOP. The recaps were better than the show.

Remember the pageant queen girl from a few months ago who so badly flubbed the question about maps: "I feel some people don't have countries, such as the Iraq ... "whatever. That's not right, but it was some nonsensical thing like that. She's on with her model boyfriend.

Robin in Montana said...

SW - I had to go look at names. I missed that season of BB, so I don't "know" those two. The brothers I like are Dan and Jordan. So far none of them have really irritated me, other than over-countrification of the two cowboys. How embarassing to be a man and be unable to complete the very first challenge? Also, I would kill to have a body like that Brandy of the Carol/Brandy team. Damn her.

Angie said...

Dan and Jordan are cool. Loved the gay brother's mocking of the pageant queen!

kristin said...

I didn't watch the Amazing Race :( I'll try to catch it though.

Lindsay said...

Hey gals! How are we this afternoon?

RV (loving that :)) did not write that post. He lost me at "not saying a peep about 'em". I didn't even get to Silly Rabbit. Lordy!

Robin in Montana said...

Silly rabbit. He needs slapped upside the head for that. MAP - this is making me seriously judge your character, if I'm going to be brutally honest here. ::nod::

Kristin -- Just put "Ocean" in my downstairs burner, and "Cinnamon Vanilla" in the living room. I love that Thunderstorm one, and will definitely order that.

kristin said...

I have an Ocean tin in my car - called a travel tin. I LOVE it!

My arms are shaking. I did arms at the gym.

Jake was embarassing last night - I missed a few part b/c I was trying to get LM down. I wish he would have let Alli come back, she is just "cute".

Robin in Montana said...

Kristin - maybe it's a setup for her to be the next Bachelorette? You know, the whole spiel about how she now realizes her life is empty of love and she needs for than a career, etc., etc., etc.?

I was lazy (again) and stayed in bed when Kelly went to the gym at 5 this morning. THen I was pissed at myself for being lazy.

kristin said...

People are saying she is going to be.

They said she works for facebook or something like that. At least that is what I heard on the radio.

Robin in Montana said...

Hmmm, interesting.

I am ashamed to admit it, but Vienna has kind of grown on me. I like Tenley, but I think she's going to be a whole handful of needy for every day of the rest of someone's life.

Lisa said...

Thanks for the AR info...I've been looking for a good Sunday night show. This should work and I've got time to catch up!

And please, he didn't really say "silly rabbit." If I wasn't sure she was writing this stuff before, I am now.

Robin in Montana said...

If he *is saying "silly rabbit," it just adds proof to all the claims that he's long since been emasculated by her. What a couple of loons.

kristin said...

i still haven't read what RV said but you guys saying that makes me think of LM.

He is into name calling. I tell him he will get in trouble if he does. So now he says "You a lion!" or "loony toons!" I like the loony toons, it is really cute.

Lisa said...

No man, not even the most flaming-faggoty one alive, is going to use "silly rabbit" when addressing other (presumably straight) men in a serious manner about serious topics such as marriage, addictions, fatherhood and God. It just isn't going to happen.

Robin in Montana said...

Lisa - bad form or no, I just sent you email. Not blog-related.

Lindsay said...

I couldn't actually get that far to find out if he truly said that, but a lot of people on MWoP are quoting it. AP you're cracking me up over there! And you're right. I can't imagine what kind of marriage could survive that kind of openness in public. They'd apparently sell their souls to live in that house on the hill. Not for me thankyouverymuch. I'd very much rather keep my skeletons in my closet :)

Robin in Montana said...

Lindsay -- with the porn. lol. (If you didn't get that far, he was discussing recovering from an addiction to porn and masturbating. Which is apparently the "in" addiction to confess to in Christian forums these days. lol.)

Lindsay said...

Dear God. A masturbating addiction. Tell me what man doesn't have one of those?

Lisa said...

Thanks, Robin got it. So everyone knows we aren't being all sneaky about anyone around these parts, it was some juicy gossip about an old shared friend of ours. I'm in the mood for gossip today, I guess. :-)

Lindsay, it really was said on his blog. And you know who that entire post *does sound like, silly rabbit and all? Ted Haggard.

kristin said...

<------ pouting

I feel so left out!

lol

TOTALLY KIDDING!

Lisa said...

Kristin! You behave or I'll ban your ass.

kristin said...

LMFAO!

my sister just asked what's so funny?

Thanks for the laugh!

Lindsay said...

Arrg. I probably just need to shut up, but I can't stand that everyone has to have an addiction these days and nobody can just own up to their behavior. Ted Haggard, Tiger Woods, RV. Lord, you guys just like sex, masturbation, and perhaps other men. Get over it already. You don't always need a 12-step program. Oopsie daisy, I said that?

Back to lurking. Sorry.

kristin said...

AP - you hurt my feelings! :(

kristin said...

Hi Lindsay....and other lurkers :)

Lisa said...

*yanks Lindsay back*

I'm with you. I'm sick to death of everyone wanting to put a medical label on pure-d shitty behavior, too. Be a grown-up, pull yourself together and take care of your business. I have no patience for foolishness.

Lindsay said...

Hey Kristin - I did my arms last night at the gym and I could hardly steer the car home. I feel your pain!

Lisa said...

Kristin, I'm sorry I hurt your feelings. I acknowledge I could have perhaps phrased that more gently, but you upset me and drove me to say it. So, really, although I'm apologizing and want everyone to see that I am, in the end, it's really your fault.

kristin said...

Yeah Lindsay!

I would have done legs but I had this weird grinding in my bad hip while I was riding the bike. I had to quit and then do arms.

kristin said...

You crack me up AP!

LOVE it!

Thanks again - are you sure you still want to marry SW?

:)

and it usually is all.my.fault!

Lisa said...

Yeah, I think I'll keep SW. Someone has to keep those tears dabbed up when she watches touching commercials. But we can still flirt. ;-)

kristin said...

<--------going back to my corner to sulk a bit.

Lindsay said...

I think flirting can become an addiction, so you'd better watch out. It's a slippery slope. Before you know it, you'll be masturbating, watching porn, and needing therapy. And in case it's not coming through in my typing - that was dripping in sarcasm :)

kristin said...

Masturbating and watching porn might be a good thing...along with therapy :) anyone care to join me?

and I got the sarcasm Lindsay!

Lisa said...

Awww, Lindsay, I'll be fine! Besides, I can drink myself out of it all. ;-)

Lisa said...

Kristin, do you mean you're wanting to have a big porn and masturbation party? Because I might be a little speechless now.

*mutters "silly rabbit" over and over again while heading off to a corner*

kristin said...

Could be interesting but then I think we would all need therapy after.

Sorry, I'm in a goofy mood. The sun is shining and it is gorgeous out plus I went and worked out.

Robin in Montana said...

Totally OT.

I read at Pioneer Woman every day, or at least look at the site, but unless something really grabs me I don't read the actual post. Today and yesterday about her grandmother's house (who is moving) and all the memories of her house that Ree has as a kid, including the canisters that are still the same, the couch, just all of it. Makes me bawlified. A lot. First thing Ree has written, IMO, in a long time that made me remember why I liked her site so much to begin with.

kristin said...

Sorry - I didn't mean to scare everyone away with my porn and masturbation talk!

Come out! Come out! Where ever you are!

....I'm hunting wabbits!

Kathleen said...

Not scared away Kristin, I was getting the video camera and towels...

Robin in Montana said...

Kristin -- Let me sniff your coffee right now! ::sniffs:: Kahlua! I *knew it!

lol

Lindsay said...

I'm trying to get some cleaning done :)

Kristin - I heard it's all your fault. Whatever it is. Even though I brought up the topic, it's all your fault!!

kristin said...

LMAO @ Kathleen - Video Cameras and towels....

RiM - How I wish I had Kahlua...maybe tomorrow - thanks for the idea :)

Yup Lindsay, just blame it on me...porn addiction, my fault. sex addiction, my fault.....ya know...whatever!

kristin said...

OT - reading yahoo news and they said that king tut was the result of a brother sister reunion and died from complications of a broken leg exacerbated by malaria.

Interesting.

Anonymous said...

Steppin out of lurkdom to say - WTF - now he's addicted to masturbation! Better not whip it out in the ice house or it could get stuck to something. Honestly - those people are too much! How can even the most trusting bible thumper believe them!

kristin said...

Hi Margaret!

How goes it?

I have to admit, I haven't read it so I have no idea.

But thanks for the visual...ewwwww!

I kinda do feel sorry for him though, living with JM. That must be difficult.

kristin said...

C&P from facebook....hoping that is okay? tee hee

anywho: Jennifer McKinney

Small Fry is in her room for "nap"time. I can't see her in her bed on the monitor. Instead, I can hear a sawing sound. Oh, boy.

I wish I had the money to afford the video monitor when LM was little. I just had the regular sound kind. I guess she could have gotten it at a baby shower or something. I didn't register for something that expensive b/c it felt wrong to ask for something that much.

Angie said...

Margaret said: "Better not whip it out in the ice house or it could get stuck to something."

ROFLMFAO Margaret! We need a new rule, AP. You're not allowed to lurk if you are hilariously funny!

Ouch!

kristin said...

GREAT rule SW! I second that rule.

Angie said...

Okay, I just read Kate McRae's caring bridge site and am now completely bawlified. Your new word is the best, Robin! It reminds me of Kelly Stamps' word "chawed," which I think is also cute, though I don't really know what it means.

Lindsay said...

Oh, Margaret is a funny girl. I can vouch for that :) Ice house . . .

I can't read Kate McRae's site. It is just too heartbreaking.

Lisa said...

Well, there's nothing like signing in to a new face who already feels like she's going to fit in just fine! Welcome aboard, Margaret. :-)

*shoves daisies at you*

SW, Honey, are you crying *again? Who the heck is Kate McRae and why are we sad for her?

Kristin, I swear to God, I'm going to ban your ass. Tee's, too, just for associating with you. Hey, where is Tee?

kristin said...

You so funny AP!

Don't shove too hard AP, you might scare her away or she might fall into a crater or something. :)

I don't know where Tee is - I think she mentioned the girls and her sister were coming for Mardi Gras, so she might be up to her elbows in girls.

Lisa said...

"I don't know where Tee is - I think she mentioned the girls and her sister were coming for Mardi Gras, so she might be up to her elbows in girls."

Oh, that's right! You think Tee's going to take off her kapp and flash her hair on a balcony? ;-D

kristin said...

Freakin' hysterical!

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the welcome!

Angie said...

Kate McRae is a precious little girl with brain cancer. It's horrible to say, but I wish I'd never read about her, because it is absolutely heartbreaking. There is hope for her, and treatment is ongoing, but it's just very sad what she is going through.

kristin said...

by the way AP - you have mail!

I am just waiting to be banned :)

Angie said...

I vote we ban Kristin. Do I have a second? ;-)

LOL to AP's Tee flashing her hair! Go Tee!

Angie said...

Okay, who here is iseethroughyou on MWoP? Fess up!

Nic said...

I just wanted pop in and say hey to everyone. I don't get on to much anymore since my daughter got sick. One of these days I hope to have free time.

kristin said...

damn you SW!

I *thought you liked me.

At first I thought it might be SeeSee but then I saw SeeSee, so I knew I was wrong.

PJ said...

I'm just checking in before the commute to job #2.

I did hear from Heather in Texas and she has our location here.

Later, spater.

I second the motion, SW. hehe

kristin said...

Hey Nic! How is she doing btw?

kristin said...

<-----shutting my mouth or taping my finger then :(

How is she CK?

Anonymous said...

oh hey!!!
:)
just finding this through AP's blog, which I (re)found through MWOP.
Familiar faces :)

kristin said...

Hi Ann!

How are you?

Nic said...

If I keep her drugged up the twitching is controlled to it being tolerable. She is a high dose of steroids and we are at the wait and see stage of it.

Anonymous said...

and damn, just reading above and seeing that Kate Mcrae is not doing decent?
damn. off to check out her CB site, I'd neglected it for a few days.

hers and the LJ site of Eva/65_redroses
those are my two sad ones I've been on during the last few months :(

Anonymous said...

I'm doing good!
Lunch with my brother, only 1 kid here today (disneyland for one, and grandparents for the other). very quiet peaceful here this afternoon (my youngest is here & napping)!

kristin said...

Nic, I'm sorry.

I'm not sure what else to say.

Nic said...

Kristen,Thank you. Hows your little guy?

kristin said...

woo hoo! Although one kid can be a handful, but I guess if you have 3, 1 is a walk in the park!

Robin in Montana said...

Hi to all the new faces! And you, too, Ann! Too bad you already missed the porn conversation over here for today. :-D

I'll be the one over cringing in the corner at the thought of manly parts stuck to the wall of an icehouse.

AP -- You're thinking of a hunting story right now, aren't you?

Nic - I am so sorry.

kristin said...

Nic - He is on breathing treatments - he woke up wheezing on Saturday but other than that he is a silly, stubborn, 3 year old boy who loves to push mommy's buttons.

Nic said...

Kristen, Some times I think 1 would be hard too. At least my 5 have someone to play or fight with. Granted the two youngest boys plot against me so I always have to be on my toes with them.

kristin said...

Should I say poop too AP?

::grinning mischieviously

Why am I in such a goofy mood?

Lisa said...

Oh, Nic, I hate hearing this. I'm so sorry. This has got to breaking your heart and hers, too. :-( We'll be here anytime you want some company or some ears and shoulders, don't worry.

Ann, it's so good seeing you here! I'm glad you found your way in. :-))

I'm off to the store to buy sushi crap after I check Miss-About-To-Be-Banned's email. ;-)

Robin in Montana said...

I had to grab an order of CA rolls thanks to you people. And they ... sucked. Very green avocado. Hmmph.

Lisa said...

"AP -- You're thinking of a hunting story right now, aren't you?"

Spotted this...um, noooo. But I think I'm about to feel like a major dumbass for *not thinking of a hunting story. Help.

Nic said...

Thank you everyone. I don't get on much and if I do its usually middle of night, so I hope you have some fellow people with insomnia. I will be back. Have a great day.

kristin said...

AP - I will ask my grandmother about sushi rice.

I know that I do rice the slow cooked way and the less water you use, the more sticky it is.

But if you guys really want to know, I can ask her and write it down.

Anonymous said...

SW, iseethroughyou is someone you know, but I think they want to remain anonymous.

Robin in Montana said...

AP - It's probably best for all concerned if you don't remember. No one wants a nude hunter on their front porch.

Robin in Montana said...

Kristin - I'd like to know. Pioneer Woman had a segment on her site, but I've always just used recipes I found online. I generally can't get it to roll right, though and end up throwing everything together in a bowl like a salad.

Angie said...

Okay, Christy, I'll respect iseethroughyou's anonymity. And by "respect," I mean do everything I can to figure out who she is, then crow to everybody that I figured it out. But not tell. :-)

Angie said...

Ann, it is SOOOO good to see you here! I've missed you and wished you would come say Hi. Hi!

Nic, I'm sorry for what your daughter, and you, are going through. Thanks for checking in with us. Come back when you can.

Lisa said...

I'm back. And ooooooooooooooooh, *that hunter story. Yeah, I blocked that one out. No offense.

I also forgot to say thanks to CK for getting ahold of HiT. I hope she can join us!

Now, I'm off. See y'all later unless I die in a car accident or something.

kristin said...

Don't do that AP - that would be BAD!

and I would really be upset!

Anonymous said...

Nic, just caught up on your blog :( Sorry things are tough..no fun :(

Anonymous said...

Hey SW!
Well I would';ve been here sooner if anyone had invited or let me know! I had to find it by stalking AP...

Anonymous said...

didn't mean to sound bitchy up above ;)
it's fine. happy to see people & catch up.

kristin said...

Ann - I didn't see it as bitchy, I actually read it as *snarky.

At least on my part!

What is new in your world?

Anonymous said...

wtf is DWOP and GWOP?
why am I so far behind on things?
am I that lame??

Anonymous said...

snarky I like & do happily.
not a whole lot new around here.

good valentine's day (which is a relief, cause he got a fail last year). umm, can't think of anything else.

still wanting to adopt, and so entirely baffled by how to go about. the wrong way can just go so VERY wrong, and there's so much corruption, pretty scary.

mwop I got. it's how I found this.

What's up girls?

Yeah Heather!

And yeah for brain power coming through blondness :)

Robin in Montana said...

Hi, HiT!

My Sparkling Life said...

I missed my girls. Long story short; I was abducted by aliens.

Anonymous said...

eww. HiT got probed!!

Angie said...

First Ann, now HiT! Somebody pinch me! Hi HiT!

Let's see, what's up? Well we hope not MckDaddy, IF he's masturbating in his ice house again. Lordy, the imagery!

Robin in Montana said...

Ann -- LOL! HiT, so the Roswell story is true?

My Sparkling Life said...

RiM: Yes. Totally true. Everything.

Lindsay said...

Oh, how I missed all you girls! It's so good to see you all.

I just thought I'd say that.

Robin in Montana said...

SW -- Stop it! Silly rabbit.

Oh, lord. Help me. My mind just made the leap from silly rabbit to those rabbit vibrators.

This place is not safe, must escape...

Anonymous said...

eh, better getting probed by aliens than by JM.

My Sparkling Life said...

So MckWanker has a porn addiction?

Robin in Montana said...

He's recovering from porn and masturbation and other unspecified addictions. Who could blame him? lol.

My Sparkling Life said...

He must be freakin tired. With the 2 of them multiplying like rabbits, porn, wankering, that must be all he does.....

My Sparkling Life said...

So, all the times he was supposed to be watching episodes of Lost or 24 on the DVD player.....

Robin in Montana said...

HiT -- LOL! Exactly! Someone mentioned that on MWoP, all that "DVD" playing he did in the basement. Shame, shame. lol.

Robin in Montana said...

And HiT -- when you were talking about how tired he must be, you forgot the "playful sex."

Robin in Montana said...

Okay, I am out probably for the evening. Cami has a basketball game tonight, and all four kids (God help me) will be home on the bus soon, starving to death, and ready to head out.

Kristin -- because I know you care, we are having the very gourmet premade super-duper huge sub sandwich from the deli, potato chips, and whatever assorted crap the kids can finagle me into buying from the concession stand for dinner tonight. :)

Have a good one, everyone!

kristin said...

I am so glad to see some familiar faces...and good to see some new faces too!

:)

kristin said...

bye RiM!

Sounds yummy! Have a good evening!

My Sparkling Life said...

Have fun RiM!

Heather said...

i'm glad to not be the only one noticing that the current trend among certain groups is all about confessing the "porn and masturbation" addiction. and like AP said why does everything have to have a diagnosis? i am sure there are some people who likely do have a sex addiction. but more often than not i feel that diagnosis is used to make embarrassing behavior less embarrassing-because look it's a real diagnosis, an illness. ugh.

HiT, glad you found us! i've been wondering about your for a long time.

as for kate mcrae, i've visited her caring bridge and blogged about her. but that's been a long time ago. it's just too heartbreaking. she's a beautiful girl, i'm sorry for her and her family. =(

on another note...i've been reading at under1000braincells and i'm just in a state of stunned suspension. though emily is "different", up until the boys room tour-i was kind to her, commenting with her, etc.

then she posted about the little one sleeping on that old mattress under the crib, and commented that it was too much work to wash the sheets if they got peed on-so no sheets. that stopped me in my tracks. i commented and emailed her about that (she never replied).

that is when i headed to the braincells blog. since then i've come to realize how naive i can be (yes again, duped). and i am now really concerned about their health, diet, daniel's "coma", sleeping conditions, etc. i can't put it out of my mind. i'm not one to call a state agency but i do read that people have.

so, what can be done? or should it be left alone? do you think the whole thing is a hoax or that what we see and read is the real deal? people are offering her mattresses, food, all of which she is declining.

i think of her husband and with his disability, he is working and going to school, etc. pulling his end. the posters on braincells really seem to think that emily's diet and portions are starving the guys. as a nurse i should know a bit more about stevia, lacto-fermenting, kefir, etc. but i don't. is it healthy and fulfilling?

someone posted the email addy to the church where dan attends weekly and they are going to send kind emails to try and bring attention to this possibly bad situation. do you think that's something that can be done and be reasonable? or just leave it alone?

5. Go on the 30 day diet. (I'm on it and so far I've lost 15 days...where does time go?)
6. When life gets you down - just put on your big girl panties and deal with it.
7. Let your greatest fear be that there is no PMS and this is just your real personality.
8. I know I'm in my own little world, but that's ok. They all know me here.
9. Lead me not into temptation, I can find it myself, thank you.
10. Don't get your knickers in a knot; it solves nothing and makes you walk funny.
11. When life gives you lemons turn it into lemonade, then mix it with vodka and ice.
12. Remember wherever there is a good looking, sweet, single or married man there is some

Angie said...

LOL CK! This is my favorite: "Go on the 30 day diet. (I'm on it and so far I've lost 15 days...where does time go?)" I'm sooo on that diet!

Regarding Kate McRae, I didn't mean to alarm anyone that things are "worse" for her. She's in a critical stage in treatment and her Mom had a particularly poignant post that got me bawlified. But she's not worse.

Angie said...

Heather, I don't know what the right thing to do is about the under1000 freak show. I know I would be unlikely to intervene. It's disturbing though. No sheets? Yikes.

Jill, where are you? We haven't talked about Big Love this week, have we? What did you think?

I'm off for TV and Thai food for a while. Will be back to check in before bedtime. Hope everyone is having a good evening!

Hey Ladies (and Gentlemen?)

Corrine - thanks for the info on the Olympic colors. I figured there had to be more to it than just "ooh, these colors are pretty" which is how I'd pick them.

Kristin - I am curious about your bad hip. I had serious pain, ended up finding out my hip socket bones were "off-round" (kinda like my butt) and had to have surgery to round out the bone and repair the cartilage.

Margaret - Hilarious!

Nic - So very sorry for what you are going through.

CK - Keeps everything simple and in perspective, no?

I agree, it is hard to read about Kate. She looks a ton like my same age daughter, and really my heart aches - makes me wonder what on earth...

Rebecca said...

Oh, I forgot, Happy Fat Tuesday!!

Kristin - you havin' the melt down? Did everyone run and hide?

Rebecca said...

I'm so lonely I could cry.

Rebecca,
Let's see - RV could be:

a) The Minnesota State Bird (The Common Loon) - oh wait that's JM.
b) The Minnesota State Muffin (that certainly fits his body type)
::sings "do you know the Muffin Man":: (Bite me.)
c) The Minnesota State Parasite - Leech
d) The Minnesota State Amusement Ride - Tilt a Whirl

Rebecca - I'm here - do I count?

Anonymous said...

CK..you're a funny lady! You have me laughing out loud which is sorely needed tonight, so thanks!

kristin said...

Rebecca - I was born with a congenital hip. I had hip surgery when I was little. As I grew, my left leg couldn't quite keep up so my left leg is about 1/2 inch shorter than my right.

With my added weight and the fact that I lug a 36 lb kid around, it has been acting up. For some reason, I always carry LM on my left side. Now I get him to walk as much as possible but at times, he wants mommy to hold him.

It does pop a lot and I have had it stick. It sucks. I know when I get a bit older, I will definitely have to have a hip replacement...oh joy!

Today when I was riding the bike, it was grinding and that didn't feel real good so I stopped.

Sorry ladies if that was too graphic.

CK, I think RV and JM share The Common Loon title. lol

Evening all.

kristin said...

Christy - I'm sure if you read through this post, you will find yourself laughing.

But I need to watch out b/c I am on the *verge of getting banned :)

kristin said...

Hiya Sandy!

How are you?

Anonymous said...

Say it isn't so Kristin.

kristin said...

SW seconded it :)

CK thirded it :)

I just can't catch a break.

PJ said...

Graphic grinding hips might be the final straw, Kristin.

Anonymous said...

Kristin, I'm good thanks. And you?

Meltdowns are fun times.

Anonymous said...

I have meltdowns all the time. I get myself a sippy cup filled with a beverage, put myself in the corner for 5 minutes and then I'm fine. lol

Rebecca said...

Just quoting JM (I'm so lonely...was that Boston?)

CK - Oh I knew you come through with something for us. Common Loon LOL! State parasite Double LOL!!

Kristin - I didn't even know I had weird hip bones until the cartilage tore. So hoping it doesn't happen on the other side (the bone is the same.) Yeah, hauling kids around on our hips will take its toll. Good thing mine are big and padded.

kristin said...

Sandy - I'm tired. My eyes are burning and I just want my housework to do itself.

Yes, meltdowns are fun, especially when you are trying to do a breathing treatment. I had to wait for him to calm down. Luckily my mom stopped by and that gave him time to settle down a bit. But then he wouldn't give her a hug and she gets her feelings hurt when he does that, and it makes me feel bad and irritated all at the same time. I mean, he's 3! I don't get my feeling hurt when he tells me I'm not his friend...okay, maybe just a little bit. Anywho...sorry....shouldn't have been so long winded...I'm sure that sealed the deal :)

Rebecca said...

*graphic grinding hips* Hee Hee Hee. Don't fault her for that one, I put her up to it.

I think I am going to assume the role of the comedic straight man...

kristin said...

Rebecca - how did you tear the cartilage? That sounds painful.

Sandy - that sounds like a great idea, I NEED a timeout!

Rebecca said...

Sandy - how was your day?

My 4 yo doesn't give me the grief, it's my 9 yo who does. She 5'2" wears a ladies size 9 shoe and throws a fit with the best of them.

My little guy will now say mean things and then ask "Are you happy?". I'll say no I'm not. Then he says he's sorry. They must be working on feelings at school because this is a new thing for him.

Rebecca said...

Tennis. I was freaking out so bad. Marched around to a zillion doctors, who told me I had everything from "nothing wrong" to "synovial cyst" to "arthritis." Finally got a diagnosis, had surgery, then at my follow-up found out I had gotten a "souvenir" or "gift with purchase" when they saw on the x-ray that they had left a wire behind in my leg. Had surgery again :(

Rebecca, it was the first day without the hubs home during the day. Nice and quiet! I have a Thomas sippy cup or one with trucks. The vodka's on ice.

Rebecca said...

Sandy, wow, your daughter is going to be statuesque - maybe a modeling career in her future? :)

kristin said...

Sandy - mine is doing the same thing. I will ask him "do you want mommy to get mad?" when he isn't listening. then he will come give me a hug and ask "you happy now?"

Ouch Rebecca - gift with purchase - that really sucks!

Rebecca said...

My husband was out of work for four months last summer and fall. I enjoyed having him home (except for that no paycheck thing.) But I did realize how many guilty pleasures I have when he is usually gone during the day.

Kathleen said...

Sandy, I'll bring the orange juice. Can I have the trucks sippy? Today has been SOOOOO long.

Anonymous said...

She is tall, thin, all arms and legs. She'd be a good basketball player. She's love to be a model too.

kristin said...

Rebecca - well good for quiet time and back to some guilty pleasures :)

Congrats on the job! Is it something he will enjoy?

Rebecca said...

Yeah - the Doc tried to hide it - wouldn't show me the x-ray. Told me it was fine, wasn't near a joint, and would be okay to leave it there - yeah, right.

My time outs consist of sitting in the closet or bathroom talking on the phone, with my caller wondering why it is echoing - duh, my kids are going nuts in the other room, that's why.

Anonymous said...

Kathleen's got dibs on the trucks sippy.

Rebecca, I got more done today with him gone. He's worse than a kid. Always underfoot asking me, what are you doing.

Rebecca said...

He keeps saying "it is a job." Considers himself still on the market. Actually I am grateful, the paycheck is similar, he just really enjoyed his old job, and didn't see the layoff coming AT ALL. This new job is just something he has done so much, it's just mundane. He's a computer geek.

Rebecca said...

When mine was home he decided he was going to "finally finish the basement." Um, yeah, no mad skills in that area. Spent thousands on materials - put up one wall with my Dad's help, and now it is all just sitting there.

Anonymous said...

Rebecca, that sucks about the gift.

Anonymous said...

My hubs was working the second shift and just moved to days. He's been doing the 2nd for almost 9 years. He worked holidays, weekends, etc. Now it's M-F 8-4:30. No weekends or holidays.

Rebecca said...

That is a nice move, but a big adjustment for all of you I bet.

Created any magic on the sewing machine lately?

Anonymous said...

Nothing lately. I will now that he's back on days. He interrupted more than the kids. lol

kristin said...

No fun Rebecca (about the basement).

Sandy - no fun about moving after 9 years - I mean I guess it would give you more family time but I'm sure you were used to it and I'm sure the additional work was helpful.

I have no hubby so I don't have to worry about those kinds of things. I mean I have the SO but its different.

Anonymous said...

Kristin, this is so gonna be infringing on my tv time, lol. The kids will be all messed up. It'll be the hubs getting used to our routine at night.

Lindsay said...

Evening all! I *finally found a place where I fit in. I was born with congenital hips, too! And I was in a cast from my waist to my ankles when I was a baby. And currently they pop out of the socket all the time. I am a member of the graphic grinding hip club! And apparently I am a loser for not noticing that Kristin said she was in pain :(

Anonymous said...

The worst part about it is he snores really bad. I only had to deal with it on his days off. I think I better pull out the ear plugs.

kristin said...

I hear ya girl!

Anonymous said...

Hey Lindsay!

kristin said...

No way Lindsay!

Me too - body cast - mine was plaster - my poor mom!

She said I was the best baby though...and she said I could haul ass in that little cast, she said my little feet would just turn in circles and I'd use my elbows to scoot around. You should see the contraptions my parents rigged for me.

Did you at times do the splits in your cast?

::jumping up and down - I have a club I can belong to! :)

Anonymous said...

Kristin, it's your back up plan in case AP gives you the boot. lol

kristin said...

Exactly Sandy!

Rebecca said...

Aww, can I be part of the club if I didn't have a cast?

kristin said...

Sure you can!

Lindsay said...

I don't think I ever did the splits, but I'll ask my mom. I have some funny pics of my hauling myself around on my hands with my legs trailing behind. I just read an article - although I can't remember where it was - that said that children born with this can expect to have moderate to severe arthritis in their hips as they grow older. It kind of freaked me out, so I am really trying to strengthen them now with yoga and weight lifting. The worst time I can remember popping them out of the socket was at Splash Mountain in Disneyland. I was 17 and I actually couldn't get out of the log at the bottom. It was kind of embarrassing.

Lindsay said...

We are all inclusive, aren't we Kristin? Hmmmm. If AP gives you the boot, I'll come with you on principle :)

kristin said...

Lindsay - how old are you?

Yeah, my mom has some really awesome pics of me...a lot with my legs straight out.

I already have arthritis. It also doesn't help that I had a really bad car accident in '93 and fractured my pelvis.

A lot of people think the hip thing is related to the car accident.

Oh, and I still have the pins that were in my hip. I have a huge ass scar on my left hip.

kristin said...

Thanks Lindsay :)

kristin said...

Thanks Lindsay :)

Rebecca said...

I was a gymnast. Now I can just picture those bones puncturing through my hip sockets. *shudder*

Lindsay said...

I'm 33. Are you about the same age? I can't imagine how much pain I would be in if I had a bad accident on top of it. It's weird because when I was younger, I was never really aware that it hurt, they just clicked or popped out on occasion, but the older I get, the more aware I am that it hurts. And honestly, I think because your pelvis expands every pregnancy that 4 pregnancies didn't really help matters, either.

Lindsay said...

Yikes Rebecca - that's a visual that makes my teeth hurt!

Rebecca said...

Girls, I am *way older than you. But can I really look forward to achy breaky hips?
