Kristin, I'm not sure what we're doing. I know I've got a couple of loaves of banana bread to bake for the male half. It's sort of our tradition now. He brings us fresh bagels and lox then I send him home with 2 loaves of banana bread. I know he wants to see "the nice area" of my town, where "the professional people live". You know, unlike my unprofessional neighbors such as the physical therapist, the NASA engineer and the retired county administrator. *eyeroll* I swear, I'd be all offended if it wasn't so funny.

HFH just doesn't understand that it's just a different way of life here for locals, not what he's accustomed to. Plus, he sees 4-wheel drive pickups and can't grasp that those people could be anything but poor working class folks. It can get pretty entertaining!

Kristin, RiM, e.a. - I'm reading Layla Grace's blog. It is so heartbreaking :(
Neuroblastoma is such an agressive childhood cancer. Have you read Cora Paige's story? She is a little girl who passed away before her first birthday from that cancer.
I think this is a cause that really touches me; little children fighting such atrocious diseases (whether it be cancer or genetic, etc.) It's like David against Goliath, except that in most cases the story ends very differently. It all sucks :(

Muliebrity - does the night intensive wrinkle reducer do anything with cellulite?

I brought abortion up to Kellie yesterday and she says she is more anti-abortion than pro-life.
Ms Kellie is going through a hard time right now, as she is helping to care for her mother with end-stage liver disease, who has to continue to work through her illness because she doesn't qualify for any "help". She says she votes democrat... I think she has a women's studies minor, so I think she more anti-children than right-wing.

Here's a good abortion question - I developed congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy just after I gave birth to my daughter. About a year later my GYN did a prego test and I was prego. Having another baby would most likely killed me. I chose to be a mother to my daugther. Now, in my case my bone head GYN had mixed up test results and I really wasn't prego but I had set up an appt for an abortion. I'd like some of these right wing nuts to have to make a tough decision like that.

Margaret, here's the deal with me: I am very liberal, and I am pro-choice. I am not pro-abortion. Pro-lifers love to get up in your face and scream that you support murdering babies, if you believe you should have a choice. In your case, it's just NUTS to say, "no, I am going to carry this baby as long as I can, die, and leave my husband and child to fend without me." Therein lies the power of CHOICE. If you take away choice, women will be having coat hanger abortions again. It's crazy talk to try to outlaw abortion, imo.

CK, it seems simple, right? I have seen both sides of the spectrum. Women who use abortion as birth control, and women who would rather die, and sometimes do, before getting an abortion. There has to be a middle ground, and it has to be legal. I used to work for Planned Parenthood, and most women coming in for an abortion were the ones with three kids and a husband at home. Seriously. It's not about knocked-up teens or welfare abusers.

Yes, she did, or to clarify, I believe she did, which is why she spews quite a bit of hate in my direction, as well as other ladies here.
The thing that can not be figured out is if Krista was in on it, or GM was duping her too, as GM was holding the purse strings and giving the money to Krista. Some believe that Krista didn't know who the donors were, which is why she was asking for emails if you gave to her, right before OHIH closed. Any time that anyone who gave asked to see the Paypal records, GM told them she forwarded all the info to her "lawyers', and the records never surfaced. There is a lot, lot more.
I have emailed with her a few times, but not in a while. I found a few places where a few people had scattered, but I had been holding out hope that OHIH would come out of it's coma. I was really bummed when she took it down.

I think they are awesome too because you can get basics out of the way. Although I did flounder in my science classes at the "big" university b/c my basic sciences at the CC was not up to that standard and it had been so long b/w the 2 schools. It was to be expected though since I did get my degree in a science.

My first degree was an Associate of Arts at a community college. I was able to work and go to school at the same time. It worked great for me - but I know for some kids it was just an extension of high school.
