I know I said I'd steer clear of videos...

...but this one is important.  It contains a health message  *nods* and came to me via RinM.
Blame her.

Good morning! Kristin- I know you won't be here this morning, but I miss you! :( *sniff sniff*

So, I got a call last night from the mom of the girl I made the Abby cake for. One of the kids at the party went to the dr. yesterday morning because she started showing symptoms Sunday morning. She has bacterial meningitis. How thrilled am I? Now I am kind of freaking out. DD didn't have any real contact with this girl that we know of, but it was a birthday party and it is something that is very contagious.

Really Frugal said...

Good Morning, Taiya. That's so scary. Will the doctor give preventative antibiotics or anything?

Margo said...

Good morning.

Sorry to hear about the meningitis. Chances are nothing will happen, just keep an eye on DD.

Margo said...

AP - I would have that cat put down. Humans don't know what animals are going through and for all you know she may be suffering. I would not tell Jake the truth when he gets home. Any lie is like one of those festering tumors - they stink and it's going to cause you pain.

Robin in Montana said...

Good morning! Glad you liked the video, Ginger and LFoB!

Taiya - yikes!

T@iy@ said...

I just called the pediatrician. They want me to bring her in to get checked out. In lieu of the fact that she started getting a runny nose yesterday. Which is probably due to this cold that I have. Shit. I am boycotting all kids parties from here on out.

Going to call my OB, too. Ugh.

Muliebrity said...

Off to start the wonderful world of work!

Taiya, Didn't you almost die from meningitis? This must be really scary for you!

Have a good day, all!

Erin said...

Taiya- that is scary. I am sure they just want to be cautious. Hang in there.

AP- the 'fucktard' thing was brought up a few days ago, not directed to anyone here, but commenting about how that was left on IB's blog comments directed to a child. In the same vein, the 'white trash' and woman-not-a-man (etc) stuff was used as a joke after comments by others. It is just silly that those things are apparently "actions" on this blog. Umm..not really!

Erin said...

RiM- I have to show Julian the fashion show pics. She was just asking about C the other day.

Anonymous said...

Morning Ladies!

Mulie, I made this list you I see. Have fun at work!

Robin in Montana said...

EL - Tell her that Cami wears the clothes in normal fashion most days. :-D Seriously, Cami loves those clothes like I can't even tell you and she totally thinks she is *all that because she has stuff no one else has. (the fact that Spokane is four hours away and the only place that has anything beyond a Target and Penney's kind of makes for a lot of the same outfits at school for lots of kids. :)

Anonymous said...

I haven't had coffee yet. That should be I made the list with you I see. Duh.

I'd really like to know what I said to piss it off.

Robin in Montana said...

SAndy - who knows? I thought many of the people on the list were the least vocal or possibly offensive or whatever that have ever been on SIP or Daisy. Probably whoever it is just knew your names for whatever reason, so is using them to act like it knows a lot. Or something? Who knows?

twirldawg said...

Morning ladies.

Reading back from last night.

AP your poor kitty sounds so pitiful, putting her down might be in her best interest. Just don't lie to Jake about how it happened.

Interesting about the changes on the FWOP blog.Names deleted, names added. Someone is playing mind games with us and I think some people are falling into her hand.

Whatever.

Erin said...

RiM- did you make the list *this time?

twirldawg said...

OT- I have three words for you ladies:
Bacon. Flavored. Envelopes.

http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/supplies/d4f6/

Robin in Montana said...

EL -- Is there a new list? ::looks around:::

Jill - you reminded me, and I may have said this before, but that bacon salt? In pasta salad? Stupid good, my friends. Stupid.

twirldawg said...

I'm actually not a big bacon person, but the bacon salt in pasta salad does sound really good.

Anonymous said...

RiM- yep there's a new list. I'm on it.

Robin in Montana said...

Jill - I like bacon, but it has to be just so. Very, very crisp, never soggy, so bacon in things where it gets soggy doesn't work for me, but that flavor in the pasta salad is so good.

Robin in Montana said...

Sandy -- well, dammit. I can't believe I never make any lists. I feel like such a loser.

Deb said...

Good morning ladies! It is gorgeous here today!

Uh oh, there's a new "list"? thought that the person did't have "time" for "losers".

Jill - passing on the bacon flavored envelopes, thankyouverymuch.

Robin in Montana said...

Deb - you're not on the list, either. I guess we're still losers. ::sigh::

Anonymous said...

Hi everyone! :-)

So, the person behind fruitcake, whoever that is *cough*GM*cough*, took the time to add names to her 'list' yet couldn't take the time to correct the misspellings on her original list. LOL :-D

So, for anyone keeping track of the political crisis in Belgium, elections will take place in June and will be illegal. Yay!
(maybe I should write a blogpost about the politics behind this crisis?)

Deb said...

AP - I just read back and saw about your cat. Animals have an amazing ability to adapt to pain. It is a tough call. If you feel her quality of life is poor, then I would say have her put down. If you're not sure, maybe just a trip to the vet for a look over and they can help make up your mind.

RiM - with a capital "L"

twirldawg said...

I don't think I want to hang out with losers who can't even make "the list"

Erin said...

Corinne- illegal as in the results won't stand, or illegal as in you are breaking the law if you vote?

Angie said...

Morning all! Mulie, good luck on your new job! I'll bet you will meet a lot of interesting people and have good stories for us!

All the end of life pet stories last night make me sad. I'm still mourning a beloved cat I had euthanized three years ago. I tend to think you should have your kitty put down, AP. I waited longer than I should have with my cat and she ended up suffering and that haunts me to this day. But I also think that whatever makes you feel most comfortable with the situation is what you should do.

Deb said...

Jill - fine!

::stomping off to hang with RiM::

Deb said...

RF said: "I miss my old yellow dog running in her sleep. She'd always have a big smile on her face."

I swear, that was my Shelby. My big, old, goofy yellow lab. She would run, and whine in her sleep on our hardwood floors and then get herself stuck under the bed. I miss her so much.

Robin in Montana said...

Deb - I guess we'll just have to make ourselves content with drinking beer and eating well. We can make fun of Jill since she doesn't want to hang out with us. :nods:

Angie said...

::heading to the loser non-list-making corner with Deb and Robin::

Robin in Montana said...

I agree about the cat, for whatever that's worth, AP, that you should have her put down. I want a big outside dog, but the thought of new pets always makes me worry about when I lose them. Silly.

Angie said...

Awwww, the beloved pet stories are threatening to make we weepy.

Robin in Montana said...

SW - It's painful over here in the loser corner, but we're doing the best we can. Want some Schlitz?

twirldawg said...

Schlitz?
We've got Cheetos over here.
And fried foods :)

Angie said...

"but the thought of new pets always makes me worry about when I lose them. Silly." I don't think that's silly at all, Robin. I think about it all the time. I count how old my cats are and how many years until I have to start worrying about their health. (Fox is 5-6, Dana's 3.5, and Buffy's 1.5.) It really seems sort of masochistic to get a pet that you know you will fall in love with and most probably outlive, guaranteeing yourself heartache.

Robin in Montana said...

Piffle on your cheetos and fried foods. We have pork rinds and texas caviar (that we made from JM's 'recipe'.) Eat that!

Angie said...

::taking the Schlitz:: Thanks!

Erin said...

Hey now! There always has to be *some people who don't make 'the' list. ::high fiving Jill::

Anonymous said...

Deb & RiM - Don't forget that you're still losers because every Daisy is a loser, per fruitcake. So, we can still hang out with you, even if you didn't make the list.

Hi SW!

EL- The results will be illegal. And NOT voting would be illegal. Voting is compulsory in Belgium, every citizen over 18 HAS to vote.

The problem here resides in the fact that the government should have decided something as far as the BHV electoral district is concerned in 2007, per request of the Constitutional Court. They failed to address the problem and now, any federal election will be illegal. All it would is for a judge to rule in favor of someone who'd complain his rights were infringed with BHV and these elections and we'd be sans government ad vitam aeternam. Seriously, I don't know what they're going to do.

Really Frugal said...

Thanks a lot Deb. Now I'm crying again. We had to have Molly euthanized because she was in pain and starting to nip at the grands. The vet was her old friend and he was amazing, even crying with us and sending us a card the next week. Youngest was already out of college, but was so upset.

Our old aunt and uncle have had to say goodbye to many pets and told us the only thing they ever regretted was waiting too long out of selfishness. That really helped us.

But I wouldn't lie to Jake if I were you, AP. We got our chops busted on that big time. When our oldest was pregnant with her first she lit into us about all the times we lied to her and how she would never forgive us (she hasn't). The lies she was talking about? Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, and the very worst, Santa Claus. We lied for years, damn us to hell.

tumbleweedgirl said...

hey all

taiya

i read bacterial meningitis and my heart stopped too. that is scary stuff! i hope your little girl is super perfect and fine, but i'm glad the dr wants to check her out.

AP

that's a hard call. we had a kitty before Rock and i got married. he got a tumor like that too. eventually he crawled up on my chest and cried. then we put him down. up until then, he seemed fine.

i miss my Large Dog. he was so cool.

Robin in Montana said...

SW - It's true. But I can't imagine a life without my dumb pets, either. We laugh daily at the things the cats do, that the chihuahua does, the horses, all of it. I can't imagine not having them, but I hate losing them so much. I left a cat and two dogs at Travis's when I left, and I miss them terribly. I never go up there because it's so far out of town and we meet halfway, but the other day I took the girls all the way to his house and the two dogs came out and their eyes and how much they obviously missed me, too, just about killed me. Don't miss him, but I sure do miss those dogs. The cat flipped me the paw. lol. That's why I left her there.

Margo said...

Ok, I opened up the Crafts for Chris blog so those of you who donated can go in and take a look. Please let me know if you want me to make any edits. I'm not real blog savy.

Erin said...

RF- you were a Mean Mom. With a capital 'M'. What horrible lies!
So what does your daughter tell her kid about that stuff?

Robin in Montana said...

Corinne - what happens if someone doesn't vote? Thinking of JW's there, because I know they would refuse to vote or even register or whatever the system is.

Karen said...

Morning Daisy's! I am going to miss Kristin! I love coming here in the mornings and reading about her night and mornings :(

Lots of work to do today - have been running for days and have so much cleaning/laundry/stuff to do!!

Robin in Montana said...

RF - Aw, I'm sorry. :(

Angie said...

RF said: "the only thing they ever regretted was waiting too long out of selfishness." That's what I did, RF, and I will always regret it. :-(

I'm sorry about you missing your dogs, Robin. ::sniff::

Anonymous said...

Can I hang in the corner and drink Schlitz and eat Cheetos and fried food? I don't want to be on the list? Please!

Really Frugal said...

Erin, She said she would never lie to her kids. She lies:o)

Margaret, great job on the auction. I'm sure that took a lot of time.

Robin in Montana said...

Karen- I will miss Kristin, too. HOpefully she can be back soon.

Angie said...

Morning Karen!

Deb said...

Margaret - what is the blog link, please!

Taiya - how scary to hear about the meningitis. I'll be thinking of you and hope it turns out clear for you all.

AP - I agree with those who say don't lie to Jake.

tumbleweedgirl said...

rf

it's kind of funny about the 'lies' of tooth fairy, etc

corinne

illegal if you vote, but the election is illegal? i need to learn more about belgian law... wow!

i'm not a loser, but i didn't make the list. i'm ok with that (:

Fruitcake needs to learn the difference between its and it's. Just sayin'. ::cowering in loser corner::

tumbleweedgirl said...

ap

don't lie to jake. but i doubt you would. my parents didn't tell me for *months* that my dog had been put down while i was away in college. he just pined for me.

and of course, a similar thing happened with Large Dog while i was away with lia last winter in the hospital. came home, he wasn't there. turned out he'd gotten hurt somehow and fallen asleep just across the road. i found him 2 weeks later.

Anonymous said...

RF- I'm sorry :( Does she tell her children the truth about Santa, etc.?

RiM - If someone doesn't vote, he/she has to pay a 125 euros fine (166$). I know that's not outrageous, but I think it's better to take an hour of your time and go vote :)

Karen said...

Morning SW and all... Taiya the meningitis is scarey - glad you are going to the Dr!

I promised myself when I got up this morning that 10:30 was the time I'd get myself busy... 15 more minutes - damn time flies!

Deb said...

I looooove cheetos. and beer. I guess I'm in.

Corinne - I can't imagine how that will all work out for you all.

tumbleweedgirl said...

margaret

good job! i'd only add on the entry with the photos - change 'teh' to 'the'

other than that, it looks friendly and awesome. the explanation is good too. is it ready for 'public' viewing yet?

Karen said...

Margaret, I love the blog also - and just really love the fact that you are doing that for Chris! and Rhys love the print and that you and anyone else that is donating is doing this! As soon as its ready for public viewing I will definately spread it around to all my real life friends... and hope that it makes a ton for Chris! Elisabeth - Chris - HI!! How are things going in your neck of the woods???

Deb said...

Margaret - never mind about the site, I figured it out ' duh me!

Really Frugal said...

Corinne, No, she lies almost as much as we did. Though the 10 yo has wised up. I don't really feel bad about it; it's just who she is. I know the other two really enjoy the memories we made.

Robin in Montana said...

I am having fried rice for breakfast, using leftover Costco spiral cut ham. I thought you all would want to know that.

Margo said...

I deleted my comment - I would never make fun of a retarded person and should not have even jested about it.

Corinne - mandatory voting - wow, that's really something else!

Margo said...

Rhys - not ready for public viewing yet. As soon as I hear from everyone that donated I'll open it up. Thanks for the teh - the edit :)

Anonymous said...

AP - I'd say, don't lie to Jake and put the cat down. If Jake loves Gina, he'll probably understand that she's in pain and the suffering is just not worth it.
I'm not an animal person but these situations make me sad. I guess that though I'm a vile person, I still have a heart ;-)

Margaret - Voting became mandatory for everyone (who had reached majority) in Belgium in 1948, in order to keep what happened in Germany in 1932 from happening again.

Anonymous said...

Blogger is acting up again. Hmph.

Deb said...

Corinne - your new slogan: Vile, With a Heart:)

Robin in Montana said...

Deb - I like it. She should have t-shirts made up.

Margo said...

Corinne just called herself vile - what a loser :)

Anonymous said...

Deb - Yup. That's my new slogan!
And, RiM, I'm SO going to have t-shirts made up. You all can have one too ;-D

Margaret - I am a vile Loser with a heart :-D

bookjunkie said...

Site looks great, Margaret! Thanks again for putting this together.

Taiya- that is so scary!

AP- sounds like it may be time for the cat. I think animals probably do suffer sometimes more than we realize. I'm one of those people who never understood people's bonds with their animals.... until I had a cat take over my house, LOL. One of the sweet cats I have now, I've had for 9 years and hate to think about when something happens to her because she's been through sooooo much with us.

Hey Kristin! Miss seeing you here. =(

bookjunkie said...

Oh, and re: the list, I want to know what's so great about Bella?! Bella, you made the list in 2 different places. What's up with that? Are you extra vile? Vile with a heart and soul? ;)

Robin in Montana said...

Bella is extremely vile. :nods:

The t-shirts need to be really tight across the boobs. It's the right white-trash thing to do.

twirldawg said...

Tight across the boobs and too short.

bookjunkie said...

Definitely too short. Gotta show off this muffin top.

Anonymous said...

Hi BJ! Bella is very, very vile. :-P

Note to self - t-shirts need to be too short and very tight across the boobs :-D

Margaret - The site looks great!

Robin in Montana said...

Probably with the neck cut down to a v, too. And should be worn with no bra, whether you're perky or not.
