Those are pretty! My little one had a girlfriend named Ayla in Montessori. I think her parents thought they made it up. Dad was Muslim I think and his first name was Aylomohm-something, and Mom was Laurie,so first 2 letters from each = Ayla. Of those for me though, I really like Brenna. Pretty. My first name has a unique spelling to and I've had to spell it all my life. I'll be you have too. I gave both my boys easy to spell names. I *hated spelling my first name. Still do, even though I do like the name.

Lisa said...

FT, we always knew you were fascinating. Are you just now realizing it?

Ooooh, a Daisy cruise!

HGTV is in my area again tonight...don't know anyone this time, though.

Lindsay, I am so sorry to hear about your friend's husband. How tragic and sudden. I am sure your friend is glad to have you by her side right now.

SW, I don't live *in Chicago, but about 40 minutes out. Close enough to take the train in and drink crappy $7 beers and not drive, though :)

My favorite perfume is Vulva Original....scratch that. It's actually Thierry Mugler's Angel Innocent. Drives men crazy. It only drives one man crazy these days, but hey, whatever works.

I've lost 8 lbs and am ready to choke a bitch for a pint of ice cream. I'm so sick of whole wheat, veggies, and lean protein. But, the ass must continue to shrink.

Totally love that skit with Wayne Brady on SNL when he says, "Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a bitch?"

Off topic, but still hilarious.

KaytieJ said...

Taiya - Oh! Kaiya....I like that one because it has you in it, too. Not just your middle name. And ok, ok, it is sort of like mine :-D

T@iy@ said...

FT- yeah I had to spell it all of the time, and pronounce it. However, I just love it. Actually, that is why we chose Ryla for Ryla. Unique, but simple. I used to work at a bird store and had a name tag. I would have people silently move their lips while reading each letter "T-A-I-Y-A" then say, "Excuse me, TaNya, can I ask you a question?" As if I couldn't figure it out if my name tag had the wrong name on it. I really love my name, though, and love that it is so unique, even if I have to spell it all of the time.

Taiya, good job! Not many people come out of giving birth skinnier than they were going in!

Maybe I should take up breastfeeding as a hobby...I could lose an extra 500 calories a day, right?

Wait, I'm not breastfeeding off of someone, I would be breastfeeding an orphan or something....y'all knew that, right?

T@iy@ said...

Very true, Kaytie. :) I am just worried about confusion factor. Same with Ayla, because it is so close to Ryla. Totally different sounds, but still. And I think Kaiya would be pronounced Kye-yah, as opposed to Tay-yuh, which is my name. This is hard.

Anonymous said...

Taiya, my real name is often mispronounced and/or misspelled...often. So often, I answer to the wrong name automatically.

Thanks for being pot smoking hippies, Mom and Dad! You thought you were being creative, but you just were being pains in the asses!

Lisa said...

"My favorite perfume is Vulva Original....scratch that."

Oh, ewwww....lol. Most excellent choice of words.

"Quiana or Kiana"

I had shirts made of this stuff. One had Eiffel Towers all over it. Think Saturday Night Fever.
http://tinyurl.com/ylfnfhr

I'll vote for Ayla.

T@iy@ said...

Gotcha Bella- if you were lactating you could just pump and donate it to a milk bank. :) That would save the hassle of finding a bay to bf but still do get the same end result. ha

T@iy@ said...

Crap, AP. Didn't know it was a fabric Scratch that one. I am not sure how I feel about "Q"s anyway.

KaytieJ said...

Taiya - LOL to the lip reading Misnomers!
My last name is one very few ever get right. I actually had a recovery room nurse ask me very snottily, "What kind of name is that?" I smiled sweetly and said, "My husband's"

Lisa said...

It would be a pretty name except those of us who remember the fabric will be smartasses and ask if her sister is Polyester.

KaytieJ said...

"My favorite perfume is Vulva Original....scratch that."

Darn it...I am missing posts again!

Nilia said...

Taiya, dang I've been mispronouncing your name this whole time: Tie-yuh.

Sorry, Tay-yuh!

T@iy@ said...

Well, that definitely clinches it. Quianna is off the list.

Anonymous said...

Taiya, Quianna reminds me of quinoa, a delicious grain (?), often used like couscous.

KaytieJ said...

http://tinyurl.com/ylfnfhr

AP - I actually expected to see an Eiffel tower shirt - LOL!

Nilia said...

Bella, *that's what that name reminded me of. I reads about it for the first time on that blog 4 little men and girlie twins which we were discussing just yesterday. Have you ever tried quinoa?

KaytieJ said...

FT - I was saying "Tay E uh" Sorry, Tay-yuh.

T@iy@ said...

Yeah, I noticed that about Quianna-Quinoa.

T@iy@ said...

Also, someone elsewhere just suggested Kalena.

Anonymous said...

Hey FT :) I have, and it's pretty good. I had it as a side at a resturant, and it had tiny, flavorful mushrooms in it, and I think it was cooked in a chicken stock. It was tasty!

T@iy@ said...

Surrreee.... I'll name my child Zoilo. Great girl name. Almost as good as Moon Unit, Frank Zappa.

Anonymous said...

I like the name Bear for a boy. It sounds bad-ass. I like the name Moira for a girl (My-rah). It's Gaelic.

KaytieJ said...

Bella - Your posts are just now showing for me - sorry I missed them as I love to read your posts! Congrats on the 8 lbs!

Anonymous said...

Thanks, Kaytie :) I think it's 8 lbs of tears, as I am seriously lamenting the lack of craft beer in my life lately. Beer=empty carbs=bad.

T@iy@ said...

FT and KaytieJ- story of my life. Seriously. :D

Lisa said...

I always thought Moira was pronounced "Moy-rah". I've been wrong all these years? Kaytie, trust me, if I'd have still that shirt I'd have shown it!

Lisa said...

SW, did you see? Lost was back to normal tonight - lots of cool twists and turns. Made me very happy. :-)

KaytieJ said...

Bella - That is why I am admiring your dedication so much, because from my brief time here on Daisy I can tell you have refined food taste.

Anonymous said...

AP, I knew a girl named Moira and she pronounced it My-rah. I am sure you can say it both ways, tho.

Off to watch "Chopped"! BBL.

Anonymous said...

Kaytie, if "refined" means butter, red meat, alcohol, and a big ass, then I am DEFINITELY refined!!!! :D

KaytieJ said...

Taiya - thank you. And I can relate to the annoyance of it for the last 18 years.

KaytieJ said...

Bella - ::::nodding:::

KaytieJ said...

Speaking of food - it is "DH brings Sushi Take Out Night" here :-D
Now if I can just convince DH to watch Idol tonight :-D

Lisa said...

I have a bad confession. I watched Dancing With The Stars for the first time ever last night. Partly, I wanted to see the train wreck Kate Gosselin has become but also? I wanted to "be there" if some nut slipped through security and offed Erin Andrews in the middle of a dip.

I'd be going to hell if there was one, wouldn't I?

Thank you, Taiya. That actually does make me feel better about admitting this...lol. It's why I take pictures of every Shuttle launch, too. I don't want it to blow, but if it does I don't want to miss it.

kristin said...

sorry ladies, I'm not in a very chatty mood.

I've been playing FV and folding clothes. just cleaned up the kitchen and posted some pics on my blog.

I'm thinking of just calling it a night.

KaytieJ said...

AP - Missed Dancing with the Stars. I have met Erin, though, at one of DH's things. Impression: cute, but total plastic. If someone did come in to off her, it would just bounce off.

KaytieJ said...

Nite Kristin! Hope your sleep goes well tonight and your day tomorrow smooth. Hugs!

Lisa said...

Kristin, I"m sorry. :-( Can we help with anything?

Kaytie, she seemed that way last night, yes.

kristin said...

No - I'm just blah - and tired.

I'm working on myself b/c right now I don't like me.

I'll be fine.

and I'm just really tired, this weekend wore me out and I haven't recovered.

night ladies!

From Facebook from JM:

Writing a follow up post to my chicken/socialism one. No, I'm not a glutton for punishment. I'm passionate. And I'm also going to be polite!

Whatever!

okay...really, going to bed!

T@iy@ said...

Kristin- Hope you get some good sleep! Tell LM to give you a break tomorrow. You deserve it. Maybe you could go do some subliminal messaging while he sleeps "You want to be a good good boy tomorrow for Mommy. You don't want to whine, pitch fits, or cry at all" :D

Lisa said...

You think maybe someone explained what Socialism really is to her?

{{{Kristin}}} Sweet dreams, and I hope LM sleeps all night. :-)

T@iy@ said...

Now I wish I had made it through the socialism post, so I knew what she said. I don't think it's worth going back for, though. It was just too long.. and I just didn't care.

Anonymous said...

Another click for cash post, I am sure. She better proofread for lies this time, or figure out where sweet Israel was during the whole thing.

Lisa said...

Taiya, she confused messing up someone's frying schedule with a political system. This next one ought to be interesting.

Lisa said...

CK, you're quiet...you okay?

Anonymous said...

Does anyone want a farting Boxer? Free to good home...you might be able to collect his noxious fumes to power some appliances.

Lisa said...

I'll pass, Bella. I've already got two old cats who are farting "Mariner's Catch" on my desk. But that's for the offer.

Anonymous said...

Hey, I just got a sneak peek of JM's follow up post:

http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/?p=12006

Anonymous said...

"Mariner's Catch". Gross. I forgot how stinky cats are, especially if they forget to bury their treasures fully.

Anonymous said...

Oh, wait, maybe that link is alluding to the fact that Bush is Hitler, rather then liberals are vermin. Wait, I'm confused.

Damn you, People of Walmart!

Lisa said...

http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/?p=12006

That did nothing but confuse me.

And as for burying their treasure, Beatrice goes in behind every damn one of the others when she hears scratching, inspecting and obsessively covering for them. She and I, we get along.

PJ said...

Hi AP,

Thanks for asking - I'm doing okay. Just trying to catch up with two days of reading.

Life has been pretty busy with school and church stuff. And I've not been feeling well. But I seem to be on the upswing today.

PJ said...

How are you AP?

PJ said...

You all have kept me laughing tonight!

Muliebrity said...

been lurking all day

I'm eating spinach pancakes

T@iy@ said...

Holy Crap (I know- I'm so eloquent I amaze myself) it is 4 minutes to midnight. I have to go to sleep. You all know I am going to be whining about being tired tomorrow, and won't I just deserve to be tired after staying up this late?

Muliebrity said...

I have heart burn.

T@iy@ said...

Hi Mulie- how are you feeling? Everything going good with Le Baby?

PJ said...

Night Taiya.
Hi Mulie! JM's spinach pancakes?

Lisa said...

CK, I'm glad you're okay and feeling better. I miss you when you get all quiet. :-)

Mulie, yum. Those sounds good...do you eat them with anything? And why just lurking?

T@iy@ said...

Ditto the heart burn. Do you have it all of the time? Or just now? I pretty much have it about 84 times a day.

Lisa said...

Goodnight, Taiya, and I mean that sternly.

I'm working on a blog post to scare CK and Corinne. :-D

Muliebrity said...

Watching this Marriage Under Construction show, and the chubby husband turns my stomach a bit.

PJ said...

AP,
It's taking me days to figure how how to politely tell you I think you're off your rocker for liking Glenn Beck.

T@iy@ said...

Don't look now, ladies. Socialism and chicken is up. I really am not looking now, because i am not interested, but I am assuming some of you are. :)

Muliebrity said...

Kind of like JM's spinach pancakes, but I just free style it.

I put honey on them and they blow my mind!

I am getting heartburn on a off, so I don't expect my baby girl to have much hair, because this is the least amount of heart burn I've had in pregnancy.

PJ said...

Taiya - part deux of socialistic chicken?

Muliebrity said...

CK, You saw me profess my love for Glenn Beck, right? How I love him and his chins?

T@iy@ said...

Yep, CK. She is on my Reader, and I hopped over to see what might be new since yesterday (bad idea- I have a ton of reading to catch up on) and she was on there.

T@iy@ said...

If there is a correlation between heartburn and hair then my baby is going to come out looking like Robin Williams.

Muliebrity said...

Just lurking because I didn't have anything to add to some of the more personal conversations. Just seemed like butting in.

PJ said...

Mulie - yes, I did see that. So sad...

Do you love him for his middle aged paunch, or his verbal spew?

PJ said...

Taiya,
Let us know if she just digs her hole deeper, wouldja?

T@iy@ said...

Mulie- does your baby have a name? You don't have to tell me what it is. I just feel like a loser for not having one. I want company or someone to tell me that i am not.

Yes, I am begging for some positive affirmation here.

And darn it, I really do need to go to bed.

PJ said...

I do like Glenn's read hair. It reminds me of my brother.

PJ said...

read = red

Muliebrity said...

I just like him. I don't regularly watch or listen to him, but when I do, I don't find him offensive. What is so offensive about him? You just don't like his approach? Or you think his message is whack?

T@iy@ said...

CK- I never made it through the first post, so i don't know. I just kind of skimmed this one. She had a few things in bold that I read. I am not much help. Plus I don't technically have a problem with JM, so while I might have a problem with this if I bothered to read it, I am probably the wrong person to ask in general. :)

Lisa said...

CK, just remember that liking and agreeing with are two separate things. I also like Rachel Maddow (okay, I might simply lust after her but whatever) and Chris Matthews. I feel toward them like I do Glenn Beck. Like, listen, think, then go find the truth on my own.

I refuse to put honey on a spinach pancake, sorry.

Muliebrity said...

Taiya, No baby name either! I am about to do one of those loser-I-need-help-with-a-baby-name posts on BF. I have a few names that I love, but Daddy isn't feeling them. Logan's suggests have been: Army, Isabella, Pal, and Smuckers.

PJ said...

Mulie,
I find his statements to not be based in fact, and his delivery to be inflammatory. I don't find it helpful in creating solutions for our countries issues.

I'm very big on reality and truth (that can be proven).

Muliebrity said...

AP - What's the problem with honey?! I had them with syrup this morning and the honey has been rocking my world as I snack on them. Super yummy!

T@iy@ said...

Smuckers? As in the jelly?

Hmm..

i am just too picky, because I have twice done BF posts begging for names and still can't find one. At least I know I am not the only one. *Sigh*

PJ said...

I understand the difference, AP. I disagree with you on some things, and I love you. I can do both.

You seem to want people to face reality and treat people with respect. Glenn Beck (JM, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann) seem to work towards division, exclusion, fantasy, denial. About how things look, and not what they're based on.

Lisa said...

CK, Beck puts out as much truth as the others. Moreso than many. You do have to weed through the spin to get to it but you do with every single one of them. If you think there's a pundit who is even half factual out there, on either side, let's talk real estate.

Believe me, you'll never find anyone bigger on reality and provable truth than me. I've spent today defending a couple of new bills and their content,in fact, to my mom and cousins. I also don't hate Obama...I love his (somewhat anti-) stance with Israel. I'm with him on offshore drilling. I will go as far as to say I respect and tend to support Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright and Van Jones. Trust me, I'm no conservative, overall. Lord, I'm hushing now but I seek facts and truth with a passion. But they need to be just that.

Muliebrity said...

Glenn Beck isn't spouting anti gay stuff, is he? I just don't see what he says that is so dividing. I am pretty Libertarian and fiscally conservative. We generally vote more conservative because we are kind of a military family.

Muliebrity said...

I am big on truth as well, but with all the lies and propaganda, the truth could karate chop me and I would have no idea it was actually the truth. "Trust No One"

Lisa said...

"I disagree with you on some things, and I love you. I can do both."

Well, that? Is returned. :-)

And Mulie, sweet stuff with spinach-y stuff? Seems really off to me.

Taiya, if you can do it and protect your privacy, can you give us an idea of your last name? First letter and number of syllables, maybe?

PJ said...

AP,
I'm gonna have to look at Beck more carefully - so far most of what I hear him screaming from the TV screen seems to be fiction.

Night all!

Muliebrity said...

He is a yeller, CK. I like me a loud, goober toothed man!

Lisa said...

"I am big on truth as well, but with all the lies and propaganda, the truth could karate chop me and I would have no idea it was actually the truth. "Trust No One""

Mulie, I trust myself and my reasoning abilities. The truth is out there if we take the time to hunt for it and find it. It's just sad that it must *be hunted for.

Muliebrity said...

Taiya, I do like Brenna. That is cute and goes with Ryla. What does your hubby like?

Muliebrity said...

I haven't the time or desire to weed through the crap right now, so I try and surround myself with people who care. I really appreciated your posts on heathcare, AP. Made a lot of sense.

Lisa said...

CK, start digging and don't let up until you get at the truth. My mom, biggest Rush fan ever, maybe, sent me an email about how HR2454 would mean we'd all have to pay federal property taxes on our homes in addition to county, they'd have to be registered annually like cars and bear stickers and we could not sell our homes at all until they were updated to the new, high energy efficiency ratings put forth by the bill. That would mean 50 year old homes like mine would need plumbing and electrical systems totally redone before we could sell. I doubted the validity of this email and then read HR2454, which proved her and her email wrong - it only applies to new construction. Good! I love proving her conservative talk radio loving self wrong. But I had a weird feeling and kept digging. I found out that the bill as she sent it *did exist, was put forth by the Obama administration and was changed literally single-digit hours before the vote to be for new construction only. This was one of the "bargaining tools" used to get those on the fence about the health care bill to vote for it. They were blackmailed and they caved to try to protect their constituents from an even greater financial doom. Research this, check it, dog deep...it's the truth. Nice, huh?

Lisa said...

Dig deep, rather. Leave dogs out of it.

Muliebrity said...

That's what you can't trust, AP! It's all this bribing and bargaining that piss me off.

Lisa said...

Thank you, Mulie. It's not that I dislike healthcare reform because of my own religious views of it, as someone commented and suggested. It's not my place to decide that for others. If I felt that way, I'd not have been paying out the ass for private health insurance for all these years. I'd have run us with none. I did not and have not. I dislike it because it makes no sense. We have no clue what this will cost as far as premiums, we have no clue what it will cost as far as tax increases, we have nothing. And to those who support it, I'll ask again since no one ever answers me, would you have supported a national vote on it? I would have.

Muliebrity said...

I took one of those "What Political Party are You" quizzes on FB and I ended up being an Anarchist. Take care of yourself people! I never realized that I was that harsh.

Muliebrity said...

I support a national vote on most things, but can you imagine the commercials and dog fights we would have to see day in and day out?

Muliebrity said...

They would have spent more money on commercials for and against national healthcare, that it could have funded the actual healthcare program for 10 years. The money that get thrown around drives me batty!

Lisa said...

Exactly, Mulie. I'll be honest, I would have bet a lot this bill as she sent it never existed and was a figment of Rush's drug-induced imagination. I delighted in calling her and telling her it was bullshit. And I have not yet told her what I really found out as I dug deeper. :-/ Had there been no bribing, no blackmailing, this bill would not have passed and hell, even Joe Biden has admitted that. God love Joe Biden because I sure do. He's one of the few genuine, honest ones out there.

Muliebrity said...

Joe Biden is more than just a man with really white teeth.

I wish Hillary were more involved with the Health Care process. I think she understands the money aspect. I don't understand how it can be pushed through like this with no plan to fund it. Ridiculous.

Lisa said...

Mulie, I think we need to limit money spent on campaigning. Period. Anyone can run but there needs needs to be a low cap on spending so that everyone has a fair shot. If networks want to air individuals' ideas, let it be on their own dollar.

Muliebrity said...

He who has the most money wins!

Lisa said...

I don't like Hillary so I can't help you there. Except, well, maybe I can agree she's got a better grasp on reality about it all after her failed attempt years ago.

Lisa said...

"He who has the most money wins!" Pretty much...at least it gets him in the top running. And that? Is sad.

Muliebrity said...

I don't like Hillary either, but I do think she has been working hard as Sec of State.

Muliebrity said...

Going to head to bed. Remind me to ask you about the people you know from House Hunters last night.
