Bella you could lay in the grass and act like a bone.

Thanks for the heads up, Jill. Didn't even know what time it was. :)

Anonymous said...

Jill, I'll be right back.

Bella, my Yorkie is accounted for!

And Good morning ladies.

Angie said...

Happy Pigs in a Blanket Day everybody! Dang, I love those things!

Karen, I'm not going to post the empanada recipe yet, because I've never made them and can't vouch for them, but the recipe is at epicurious.com. Search for beef empanadas.

I've got to go back to the drawing board on one of my beef appetizers. I read the recipe for the beef sliders and wasn't happy with it. So I'm going back to google a couple of the suggestions Rhys made. Rhys, you told me about two different kind of meatballs, what are their names again?

This morning I've been to the hairdresser and soon need to start making cookies and getting the house ready for game night. I posted the recipes for the coookies and sopapilla (sp) bars I'm making.

Angie said...

Jill, you crack me up! LOL

Angie said...

Nevermind, Rhys. I went back and found the thread. You suggested kofta meatballs or albondigas.

T@iy@ said...

Abby and the cupcakes are done! Woot!

I lured that little soggy brat into the garage and caught her. Called the number on the tag and a very nice woman and her son came to pick her up. Chloe (the dog) got out yesterday afternoon! We had wicked thunderstorms here last night, with torrential rain. Poor little pup, and I've done my good deed for the day.

PJ said...

SW - will you post the recipe for sopapilla cookies? Or a link?

PJ said...

Taiya - pictures???

Anonymous said...

Good job Bella. You're community service is done for the day!

T@iy@ said...

I'll go take some, CK. Hang on.

Angie said...

Yes, Taiya, pictures!

Bella wins the good citizenship award of the day! The award will be pigs in blankets, of course.

CK, it's posted. They're not really cookies, more like soft bars. The cookies I'm going to make are Monster Cookies, and that recipe is posted also.

Lisa said...

Thanks, Jill - once again, I forgot.

Bella, good job - I hate seeing lost pets.

SW, have fun on game night. Does your hair look purty?

I just stuck a chicken and taters in the crockpot with BBQ sauce. Boil some corn, dump salad in a bowl and dinner is an easy one tonight. Miss Arse said she'd like my liver leftovers so her dinner is done, too. CK, how do you make your chicken chili?

T@iy@ said...

Okay. Photos are up on my blog. :)

T@iy@ said...

Hmm... what should we do for dinner? Tuna or PB sandwiches? :) Unless Matt wants to cook it might just be cold cereal for dinner...

T@iy@ said...

Oh, never mind! I forgot! We got our quarter cow, so we are having steak or something! I will even go through the trouble to make dinner for that. :)

Angie said...

Taiya! Abby looks fantastic! Great job!

AP, my hair looks okay. Like a lot of people, I prefer the way I fix it to the way my hairdresser does. My hairdresser had a new tattoo to show off today. A giant flower on her shoulder. Bella would approve.

Lisa said...

Taiya, that cake is amazing - you're really talented! And forget the mess, I love your kitchen...it's got a real country kitchen feel to it, very homey and cute. I laughed at your bottle of Tums in the window, though.

Lisa said...

SW, as long as she didn't butcher your hair, it's good. :-) By the way, I miss seeing the picture of you in your snexy Peter Pan collar on here.

Anonymous said...

Great job on the cake Taiya!

Karen said...

Hi Daisy's! Tay is napping, Patti is napping, Megan and Riley are coming to spend the night later, and have dinner, and I need to figure out what to make... and clean up this apartment. And what am I doing? Catching up on here!

Lisa said...

Hd, I totally forgot to say hi to you. I saw you on the last post. How's your Saturday?

Karen said...

Taiya - I love the cake and cupcakes, such vibrant colors - that was ALOT of work!! and your kitchen is cute! and your baby's name - I love it!!

My cousin is moving back to OH and is pregnant - due beg. of Sept. I think and she is seriously considering Olivia Maria - the Marie after my grandma - who was Minnie Marie! poor Gram! She hated her name Minnie and went by Marie all her life! My Angela's middle name is Marie. My Megan's middle name is Martene.... If Megan has a daughter some day - she is going to use Martene either as her first or middle name... I love that name!

Karen said...

Kristin I was reading so many different posts trying to catch up and finish them all I think I missed everything that is going on with you - but I get the idea, and I just want to say that I hope that this is going to be a positive change for you and LM... you SO deserve to be treated so much better than the past, you are such a good warm person... and your LM needs someone that makes his mommy happy!! Take care of yourself and do what's best for you - but I'm thinking bout ya!

PJ said...

Taiya - the cake is wonderful. A work of art! You are good!

AP, Chicken chili recipe is from a Weight Watchers Cookbook. It has garbanzo beans in it, red/green/yellow peppers and you serve it in a bowl next to brown rice. We top off with cheese and sour cream (cause we're not on weight watchers). I'll post the recipe tonight.

Karen said...

Doing well Kristin, should be showering and cleaning but I'm stuck for some reason in this recliner!! How are you doing? Dealing with everything? I need to figure out where I missed some details of what is going on with you - I'm nosey like that - but I hope you and LM are dealing! I did see you have internet and a couch and I'm glad!!

hd said...

hi AP,
My Saturday is going great. Better Half in the garage putting together a new BBQ grill while I sit here with the pg child waiting to take the meatloaf out of the oven.....it smells great!! Cold out here, only 43 degrees brrrrr. Relaxing day to say the least :)

kristin said...

and I really have to say - SO is a great guy, very nice and LM loved him, which is what is so freakin' upsetting - we just grew apart and I think I want a lot more and have high expectations. Plus I am an adventurer and in his line of work, that makes things difficult.

I did talk a lot about doing volunteer work again at a nursing home and think I am going to start looking into it. I spoke to the owner of where I work (family friend) and she said that some places even have playgrounds for kids. Her dad was in a facility north of here. So I think I am going to start doing that soon.

Karen said...

I need a new BBQ - thanks for the reminder hd! I'm trying to figure out what to make for dinner, something special for Megan but Riley and Tay need to be able to like it too - and Ang might stay too when she gets off work... so has to be enough to feed us all. I have chicken... LOL I might need to go to the store!

Karen said...

Thats great Kristin, will keep you and LM occupied and make you feel good about yourself, get back to the type of person that you want to be... instead of worrying about someone else.. if that makes sense. I do understand the being with a great guy but not being THE RIGHT great guy - thats what my ex was, he still IS a great guy, but I didn't want to be married to him any more - probably shouldn't have in the first place, but he gave me my 3 kids, so I'm glad it all worked out the way it did! I hope you will be too one day!!!!

Karen said...

Going to get a few things done - will be back later to catch up I hope! Everyone enjoy your Saturday!

Angie said...

Kristin, you have the best attitude. I really admire that about you.

Margo said...

Hi daisies :) The rummage sale was a huge success and it's just starting to rain now.

Taiya - your cake is AWESOME. You could make big bucks around here with custom cakes.

kristin said...

Thanks SW - no reason to sit back and feel sorry for myself and it wouldn't do LM any good.

Karen - I need to do something with my house too - i have a lot of empty closet space now so I think I can move some stuff from LM's closet back to mine...and stuff.

Karen said...

Thats good Kristin - it will keep you and LM occupied and stuff! Like someone said here... doesn't matter if this is really something that you would have wanted or wish you had intitiated or not - its still an ending, and a new beginning, and will still take some time to get used to and re-adjust to... So take time to do stuff just for you and LM and I hope you find things adventurous to do!! If you were around here we'd do stuff with you and LM could hang out with the grands and have a blast!!!

Margo said...

Ok, I read back a ways. Robin, your wreaths are super cute and I think it would be a great donation. Can you send me a photo to my e-mail? If you can't it's ok I can cut and paste the other one.

AP - good idea on moderation. No need for any nonsense.

Karen said...

I agree with the auction for Chris to not be linked to Daisy either, cause I'd like to tell some in real life friends/family to go there and bid... but would prefer they not come into Daisy and nose around at who/what I talk about... is that what you were talking about?

I also love those wreaths for the babies Robin, I know people spend alot on those and custom made would be even more expensive.... What a good idea of something to donate for the auction!

Also - can I just say that Robin I'm glad you are here, chatting... its nice to have so many "originals" here again, we have had some good laughs and discussions and I enjoy it whether I'm taking part, or just reading later and giggling about it all!! and the new people too - make it more interesting!!

I showered... no idea on what to make for dinner tonight though... ughh...

bookjunkie said...

Heeeyyy everyone!!

Kristin- I love your attitude! I used to volunteer at the nursing home and did manicures, painted fingernails, etc. I loved that so much!

Off topic but about nursing homes- I read this girl's blog and her daughter was in a preschool that was held in a nursing home/assisting living facility. I thought that was the greatest thing! I just love elderly people anyway though... love to hear their stories, etc.

Taiya- that cake is adorable and the cupcakes, too. A lot of work I'm sure but it really looks awesome. I'm sure it will be a big hit at the party.

Everybody's weekend food sounds good. I'm off Sundays so that's usually my cooking something special day. Not sure what's on the menu for this week yet though. Need to head to the store.

Hi again!

Jay and I went out for a bit. I'm looking for those Reebok Easy Tone shoes in my size, but I came up empty. I need to check Zappos. Anyone have those shoes? Do they really work your legs like they say they do?

We stopped at a hot dog stand called Fat Johnny's Daughter. They have a...delicacy? named the Mother-In-Law, a hot dog with a tamale in a bun, covered with chili and cheese. I just got a Double Cheese Fatty Dog....I need those Easy Tone shoes!!

Taiya, your cake looks great! I wish I had that kind of talent :)

T@iy@ said...

I. Am.. Exhausted.

Back from a rainy, cold birthday at the park. Everyone loved the cake! I wish I could take some sort of credit for it, but it is basically a paint by number sort of thing. You buy the pan in that shape, you buy the tips, the colors, make the frosting and then just follow the picture/instructions to make it.

http://www.google.com/products/catalog?client=safari&rls=en&q=Abby+Cadabby+cake+pan&oe=UTF-8&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=9753847665991347502&ei=lFDTS4T8FISdlgei5KjtDA&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBMQ8wIwAA#ps-sellers

See? It is a lot of work, but anyone can do it! Thanks, though, I am glad that everyone else thinks that it looks good, because I was very happy with the way it turned out!

AP- I said the other day that I have Tums stockpiled. I wasn't kidding. I have a bottle in my purse, one in my bedroom, one in my bathroom, one in my car, one in the kitchen window, and one in the living room. :) I have heartburn every day when i am pregnant. It goes away quickly, though, when I take Tums.

Anonymous said...

Bella, I read about those shoes the other day. They sound interesting.

Angie said...

A double cheese fatty dog sounds delicious!

I just finished making about 10 dozen Monster Cookies. Next up, the sopapilla cheesecake bars.

Taiya, the cake is still very impressive. I wouldn't have the patience to keep all those little stars of icing the same.

T@iy@ said...

SW- I'll trade you a cupcake for a Monster Cookie! :D

Anonymous said...

You're making me hungry. Chili cheese dogs, cake, cookies. Yum!

Anonymous said...

Taiya, hand me over some of your Tums, girl.

T@iy@ said...

Tropical Fruit or Berry Smoothie, Bella?

Angie said...

Deal Taiya!

Anonymous said...

Berry Smoothie sounds great, Taiya.

Why are the Blackhawks playing now? It's too early for a beer!

T@iy@ said...

::handing over the Berry Smoothie Tums to Bella::

Anonymous said...

Bella, it's never too early for a Schlitz! lol

I'm bored to tears. I refuse to watch tv because it will be some documentary about Hillbilly lobotomies or something.

Lisa said...

Sandy, LA Ink is on...and Dinner Impossible is on, too. From where I'm sitting, I can hear both.

Okay, a weiner and a tamale in a bun together with chili, am I reading that correctly, Bella? If so, I don't think I could do that unless I were very drunk.

Margo said...

Berry smoothie - yes please!

Anonymous said...

You could do it sober, AP, but you would regret it.

AND

I would go gay for Kat Von D.

T@iy@ said...

They are berry smoothie Tums, Margaret. Still want in?

T@iy@ said...

I really liked Kat Von D. until she let Steve O. freehand a really crappy tattoo on her body. I can see if she wants tattoos and they mean something to you, but why in the world would you let Steve O. of all people freehand a tattoo on your body because of a silly bet? Steve O.

Margo said...

I'm brain dead - I thought it was a smoothie, smoothie.

I need to make dinner - and I don't wanna.

I just saw the bitch next door. I almost went over and asked her what the $2500 she is suing us for is really about - then I though nah, it's just going to annoy me.

Lisa said...

"I would go gay for Kat Von D."

Isn't she beautiful? I am secretly very envious of those stars on her temple, too.

Margaret, you'll annoy the bitch neighbor more if you ignore her. Bonus annoyance points if you wave and smile.

T@iy@ said...

Oh. I went uptown and found out that someone ran the intersection and they had to use the jaws of life to get him out. :( That is what all of the hullabaloo was about. Our road is a county road and pretty busy, but the road that crosses it (and doesn't stop) is a state road and massively busy. He ran the stop sign, and while it is only 35 in town, it was a bad bad accident, apparently.

Anonymous said...

I think Kat needs to lay off the Botox myself.

Anonymous said...

AP, you reminded me of a neighbor we had when I was growing up...my mom called him "Smile And Wave Dave". He caused all sorts of ruckus with the neighbors...calling the city about people's trees over his property, petty zoning stuff, and would love to alert the police if anyone was parking on the street overnight...a law that was on the books, but never enforced.

BUT, every time you drove by, if he was outside, he would smile and wave at you. It used to drive my dad batshit crazy.

Anonymous said...

Does Kat use Botox, Sandy?

The only thing that creeps me out about her is that little hairless cat of hers.

Anonymous said...

Her hairless cat died.

She so uses Botox. Her eyebrows never move.

T@iy@ said...

Oh. The cat died? I haven't watched it since that Steve O. episode. That cat always just made me think of Mr. Bigglesworth. You know? Austin Powers.

Anonymous said...

I guess what want she said on the show is that he got out and was attacked by something and was all mauled up. Poor thing.

T@iy@ said...

Oh, that's sad! She really loved that thing!

T@iy@ said...

I am listening to A Bug's Life play in the other room. I *should be cleaning my kitchen. Or cooking dinner. Or both.

PJ said...

Totally OT, but AP, I posted the Chicken & Chickpea Chili recipe.

As I was typing I realized I used 1 BIG T of cocoa powder, not 1 little t of cocoa powder. A little bit makes it sort of mole like (as in mexican cuisine, not rodent).

So, I may have chocolate chili....

PJ said...

AP - I deleted my last status on FB to edit it - so your like is gone.

I didn't want you to think I didn't like your like....

kristin said...

hey ladies - kinda took a nap but I did get some laundry folded. LM had a good nap.

I need to go to the store. I think I am going to make meatloaf.

I also love my new Dyson - I vacuumed LM's room while he slept in my room and also hit the kitchen.

Bella - my sister (physical thearapy asst) says that those things do a number on your back and knees. She says a few people come in to have work done that have used those. Just sayin'.

Taiya - I LOVE the cake!

Anonymous said...

Has SW checked in lately? There is a massive tornado outbreak in the south right now.

Lisa said...

CK, I saw that and did not like that you didn't like my like. And thanks for posting the chicken chili recipe.

Bella, that's funny about Smile and Wave Dave. I've got to say, he'd probably make me nuts, too. I swear, I don't report people or anything but I've got some odd-ass neighbors. I can't see Crazy Shirley without smiling and waving at her because I know she hates me for living.

Anonymous said...

Good to know, Kristin. I was thinking they might help my back...I'll have to do more research before dropping $100 dollars on a pair.

PJ said...

AP - I'm very sorry you didn't like that I didn't like that you liked it.

But I bet you'll like the chili.

Lisa said...

I bet I'll like the chili, too...but I'm not going to tell you I do because I can't handle any more rejection.

Hd, it's cold where you are! So, your daughter that is going to have a baby, she lives with you?

Angie said...

Bella, thanks for thinking of me. It's fine where I live. I'm putting up the computer to finish getting ready for game night. I'll see ya'll later tonight or in the morning.
