Is it wrong to admit that one of my guilty pleasures is Air Supply? And that "The One That You Love" is stuck in my head right now, for no apparent reason?

Bella- agreed about the socks. :) I was going to comment yesterday that I didn't think anyone's avatar could get any worse than mine, until you posted the dog. :D

btw- I am rocking those sexay beasts again today. :) Gotta get the heels fixed. It seems to be working, so i don't mind going around looking like a moron all day.

Good Morning Ladies:)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

AP, she seems to be okay now, but since the fever came out of nowhere (seemingly) I'd rather she stayed home for the day. We had a playdate scheduled for our home tomorrow and I've canceled it just in case.

T@iy@ said...

Ooh! I need to go check Crafts for Chris and check out this wreath. I am hosting a double baby shower in July with one of my best friends for 2 of our best friends. (I have awesome friends, and we are mostly all friends, too). I am making slings, bibs, burp rags and stuff, but I am seriously going to be spoiling these babies.

Goodness, am i chatty today.

Catching up on comments:

Taiya said: “Just warning you, SW, I am eyeing those notecards and I am going to pull an ebay move and bid those suckers up at the very last minute. I am just biding my time...” Two words Taiya: Bring. It.

FT, I agree that urinals should be banned. I worked with a guy who built a house and put a urinal in the master bath. He was so proud of it, he brought pictures in for the other guys to marvel over. Men are stupid.

Sandy, I’ve been meaning to thank you for getting me addicted to MahJong. You mentioned it the other day and I thought, “Isn’t that that game old Chinese women play? She must be joking.” So I googled it and now I’m losing hours a day to the stupid game. So thanks for that.

Bella, what are you cooking for your dinner party?

Who is taking the Oprah no cell phone pledge?

Karen, thinking about Mama cat!

A friend of mine had a Chinese crested dog once. It was weird trying to pet him, because he was bald and his skin felt funny. I felt sorry for him. The dog, not the friend.

Hi Megan!

Erin said...

Hi Megan, and eveyone else too!

Margaret-so it really was *not your house?

Bella- our dog has a stubby tail too. It cracks me up when she wags it. I am, however, easily amused. Would love to see a pic of Ozzy in the doggles!

SW- after living with 3 men/boys I *so would put a urinal in. No pooing in it though.

T@iy@ said...

What is the "Oprah no cell phone pledge"?

Anonymous said...

Hello everyone. I realize that many of you don't know me since I post infrequently but I always enjoy the conversations. You all make me laugh.

Hope Chris and Elisabeth are both doing well today.

AP, how is Miss Arse's eye? And...I'm really sorry about Gina. It's really sad when the end comes for a pet we love - or even just tolerate. :\

SW, EL, AP, BD - I feel like I am at home again:)

Hi Megan! I've missed you! How's life in your corner of the world?

Anonymous said...

Hey, Jill. How's school today? I'll bet your counting the hours by now...I am so ready to retire. I can't - but I'm ready.

Lisa said...

"Is it wrong to admit that one of my guilty pleasures is Air Supply?"

Yes, I think that perhaps this is very wrong to admit. ;-)

Hi, Jae! She's got to have surgery on her cornea now, as well. She's fine but frustrated with it all. Thanks for asking - how are you?

Negan, can I just say that your Mexican lasagna has gone down in recipe history? I've made it several times and passed it along to others who say it's a family staple now, too. :-)

Angie said...

Oprah is trying to raise awareness of how much cell phones increase the risk of car accidents, and is asking people to sign a pledge not to talk on cell phones or text while driving. http://www.oprah.com/packages/no-phone-zone.html

Anonymous said...

yea!! AP glad to hear about the mexican lasagna!! I am thinking I will make it soo too, it's been too long:).

Jae, things are changing here, all for the good in the long run, but tough choices to make and follow through with. I am confident in my decision though, and for the first time in the last ten years or so, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel:)

Anonymous said...

I feel like shit, AP. Thanks for asking though. :-) Actually, I'm okay. Had to have some tests yesterday to try and figure out what's causing a bunch of pain in my lower right side. I'm thinking appendicitis but I hope not - of course that would be better than anything more serious.

Anyway, YES to Megan's Mexican lasagna. I may make that again this weekend.

Hi SW. I need to check the recipe thread and see if you've posted any good ones lately. I haven't signed the pledge - but I don't talk on the cell phone when I'm driving. And I don't text at all.

T@iy@ said...

Ahh. I am not a big fan of Oprah. Don't think I'll be signing. I will however continue to not text and talk while driving. I always have DD with me and there are enough bad drivers to watch out for without having me distracted by my stupid phone.

Anonymous said...

That's good to hear, Megan. Not the tough part, of course - but that you can see light at the end of the tunnel. Change is always really hard, at least it is for me.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I thought it might be wrong. :) There's worse things...aren't there?

Hey Megan! Great to see you here.

Jae, having just gone through that, I totally sympathize. May you feel better quickly.

Anonymous said...

Hi Taiya. Don't think we've chatted before. I used to like Oprah - not so much these days. I'm listening to the Kitty Kelley bio of her while I drive to work and do errands. I don't know how much is true - who knows with Kitty - but it's *interesting anyway.

Anonymous said...

Jea, that's the thing I HATE change!! either way, I know it's for the best.

We have a no cell phone policy while driving for work, it kinda just spills over into everyday travels. Safer, and less destractions, and i figure, I will tell the kids they can't do it, so they should learn by example, right?

twirldawg said...

Hey Jae.
15 days after today.
Senior assembly this morning and then all my kids checked out of school to get ready for prom.

Anonymous said...

bd! Hi! Yes, I remember you DID just recently have an appendectomy, didn't you? May I ask how long (and difficult) your recovery was? Of course, I don't know yet if that's what the problem is or not. Ignore the question if you don't want to think about it - totally understand.

Shannon said...

Morning ladies how are you all doing today?

Jae it is good to *see you :)

The Oprah thing....yeah I dont talk or text anyway I dont need her help with that....for one it is illegal here to be on the phone while driving

Anonymous said...

SW- You are welcome. LOL

Anonymous said...

Hi Jae, good to see you :)

I'm still here, putting off the pile on my desk until the last possible minute.

BD, my secret pleasure is Toto: "I bless the rains down in Africa..."

SW, I am making a spinach and cranberry salad with slivered toasted almonds, and a sesame vinaigrette. Then we are doing strip steaks on the grill, along with grilled veggies, and a parmesan-garlic risotto.

I'll be too busy making all of the above, and won't eat any. :(

Erin said...

Hey Jae. Sorry for the pain :(

Our news station has a similar pledge for distracted driving.

Jill- our senior awards are not until May 28! When do your students graduate?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Jae:

I did have an appendectomy. The recovery should have only been a couple of days, but my incision became infected, probably because I was not completely healed from the laparoscopy that removed the endometriosis two weeks before. But had that not happened, I'd have been super in about 3-4 days. Consider it a long weekend. :)

Shannon said...

Oh man BD is reminding me of fester :)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Jae:

Have you seen an OBGYN to rule out cysts and endo? Have you had an ultrasound? Endo will not show up on an ultrasound, but cysts will, and there are certain kinds of cysts that are indicative of endo. At least this is how it was explained to me.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Fester has lost his weeping, festering power, Shannon. Don't fear the weeper.

Anonymous said...

Hi Bella, Shannon, Erin, Sandy...anyone else I missed.

AP, your mom sounds like a tough lady. I hope she can get through the surgery with little or no problems. And quickly.

T@iy@ said...

Bella- Yum!

Hi Jae! I don't think we have chatted. Who is Kitty Kelley? Oprah just irritates me. If she gets people to stop texting/talking while driving it would be a good thing, though. Especially texting.

BD-outbid ya. :)

Hi Shannon!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Bella, I kind of love Toto, as well. ;)

My husband's favorite guilty pleasure is "Heat of the Moment" by Asia. When he finally downloaded it onto his iPod we. heard. it. every. hour.

Shannon said...

I will try to be brave BD.....the nightmares have finally ended :)

Erin said...

Bella-yum. That is my favorite salad. It is good with strawberries too. And goat cheese. Guess I will be making it sometime this weekend too!

T@iy@ said...

Well, me and my sexy socks are out of here for the day. Friend called and we are going on a play date with our kids. :) No, I am not wearing the socks and flip flops out in public. I will wear real clothes, normal socks and shoes and be presentable.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Robin in Montana said...

Good morning all! Hi Jae!

I keep meaning to make that darn mexican lasagna -- can't get ground chicken prepackaged here, but the guy at the meat counter will grind it for me.

I am *all wound up about a situation with my ex, but figured in light of the idiocy going on elsewhere still I won't hash it out here. I wish I could - I'd like some feedback since right now I'm just angry at the hurt my kids have.

Anonymous said...

Thanks, bd. NOW, I do remember. You had two surgeries in like about two minutes. No wonder it took so long to recover. Not to mention, infection on top of everything else.

Yes, I had ultrasounds yesterday. External and internal. Fun. If the ultrasounds don't show what's going on, the doctor will do a CT scan.

Margo said...

Hi Jae and Megan - I'm a new Daisy. Not a fan of Oprah but also not a fan of cell phone usage or texting while driving.

Sandy - will you send me some e-mail? shimargar @ aol.

Margo said...

RiM - I think it's a shame that we can't talk with out big sister watching. However, I hope things will work out. The 800 lb gorilla in the room drinking a smoothie at the fruit stand does put a damper on things doesn't it.

Shannon said...

Ladies pardon me for a moment....If I offend any of our gentler souls I appologize but dammit if I am going to be called foul mouthed and have people act all shocked I will let them have it :)

Anonymous said...

Hi RiM, I'm sorry you're going through a tough time - especially since it involves your kids being hurt. I really am. I've been there (well, obviously - not exactly where you are) in a similar situation years ago and it hurts worse than anything when your kids are hurt.

I've also been meaning to tell you that I'm always interested in the things you write about your JW background. My aunt and uncle were JWs and my father joined up with a different cult-type (IMO) religion when I was in my teens. Nearly tore our family apart. I'm VERY wary now of most organized religion.

Taiya, Kitty Kelley (Kelly?) writes what I think of as tabloid type biographies of all sorts of people. I know she wrote about Lady Diana, Jackie Kennedy...I can't remember who else. They are always "unauthorized." I don't know if she's ever been sued or not but if she has, it hasn't stopped her from writing.

Anonymous said...

LOL...I don't know about others but I'm not easily offended, Shannon.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

RiM:

Anonymous said...

OH! And hi Margaret! It's great to "meet" you. What you're doing for Chris is wonderful!

Shannon said...

LOL Jae well dammit if people are going to gossip about the horrible foul language that goes on on here I figured I better really lay it out there LOL....I think the worse we ever have here is an occasional bitch or fuck LOL

Margo said...

The Kitty Kelly book about Diana was banned in England. I went over to visit my family there and the aunts all wanted copies. When I got off the plane they swarmed me, not for hugs, but for copies of the book :)

Erin said...

Bella- if you can find the pre-packaged crumbled goat cheese it works better. If not, crumble a log before you need it. It gets less glumpy that way.

Jill- ours is June 1st.

Shannon- I have never even *thought of you as fouol mouthed ;)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Nor am I, Shannon.

Taiya, Kitty Kelley wrote a fascinating, tawdry biography of Frank Sinatra during the 80s. That is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of her.

Oh, and I outbid you, Taiya. :)

RiM, I wrote you a comment, but it disappeared. You know where to find me if you want to chat. I am thinking of you. :)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Shannon, I didn't know you were so poetic. :)

Shannon said...

Robin it sucks that because others have such a serious chip on their shoulder that they have to make it so you feel that way....

Regardless I hope things get resolved for the best.

Anonymous said...

Well now. My cheery post looks odd underneath Shannon's, doesn't it? I'm laughing here. I think I may have learned a new word or two. But yeah, I think most people have pretty much heard them all.

Megan, if you're doing what I think you might be doing, good for you!

is it bad that it is only 10am and I am ready for lunch???

Erin said...

AP- the bright spot in Janey's day yesterday was the package that *finally came in the mail. new crocs!

Robin in Montana said...

Thank you guys. :-)

And it does have to do with the JW thing -- well, shoot,I'll just say it, and if it gives FWOP something to blab about, so be it.

He's taking them to a convention thing this weekend, staying at amotel with pool, all well and good and they are excited. However, a couple weeks ago it came up that a particular concert was going to be in that town thenight before, and Cami was *totally excited, wanted to go,has never been to a "real" concert before, etc. He and the new wife hemmed and hawed, said it was too late to get tickets, it would be too expensive, they probably wouldn't go.

So. a couple Weds. nights ago he asks them, so when we go to X-town, how would you like to spend Friday night with Mrs. X (the new wife's mother) at her motel on Friday? She has a pool and she'd take you to dinner, etc. Yup, he's going to the concert. So Cami was very upset, ended up crying, so apparently because he thinks she's stupid he says they don't think there are any more tickets, but he'll *try to get one. So a couple days go by, and she asks if he's tried to get a ticket. He "forgot." Then this last WEds she brings it up again and they tell her that they *would call now, but it's closed. (Ticketmaster apparently closes online - who knew?). She is not stupid, she knows they had no intention of taking her to begin with, and she's hurt that they think she's stupid enough to buy their stories, she's hurt that she's being treated like a little kid, and she's hurt that he is, as always, not willing to include the kids in anything.

So. There's that. When I drop them off at school today, I tell them Ilove them, have a good weekend, and please call me when they get to this town so I will know they are safe. Katie tells me she will *try, but that "Dad gets really mad when we want to call you and says it's his time and we never call him." So. THat upsets me that they have wanted to call me and he won't let them.

Anyway. I called him this morning and calmly tried to lay all that out, and it did not go well.

Erin said...

Megan- out.of.my.head. I was just wondering the same thing!

Anonymous said...

AP, you are so smart;)

Robin in Montana said...

Well, I'll own it. REO Speedwagon, I'm Gonna Keep on Lovin' You is *my guilty pleasure ... :-D

Anonymous said...

Oh, RiM - how old is Cami? Can she decide she doesn't want to go to X-Town?

Shannon said...

Oh man Robin I dont blame you or Cami for being upset. That is really mean to try to pretend that she is too stupid to put two and two together....he is a twat rocket and needs to realize that things he does now will effect his relationship with his girls forever.

Lisa said...

Ha! I learned a new word - queef. Thanks, Shannon!

Robin, I'm so sorry. He'll suffer for what he's doing at some point but that doesn't help your girls now. :-(

Margo said...

EL - didn't mean to confuse you about the house puzzle thing. It is my house and I'm not paranoid :)

Sorry about your kids RiM - that hurts my mama heart :(

Erin said...

RiM- that stinks. Cami must be so upset/disappointed/jealous/hurt. I don't know if I would have it in me to go to a concert (or anything) my kid *really wanted to go to, without them.

As for the calling on 'his' time? Calling to shoot the shit, or because they are bored is one thing. To let you know they got there safely? Another story.

Erin said...

Margaret- that is messed up.

Robin in Montana said...

His point to me this morning was, well, kids are KIDS, and they don't NEED to do everything the adults are doing. True enough. But you don't take yourself on vacation and buy fucking socks, and if you're going to go to a concert that you know your kid wants to go to and youdon't want to take her, then say that, don't lie to her. In addition, then make sure you *do something with her that is fun, that is an activity. Oh, and by the way, raking the leaves and burning "as a family" isn't the same as a concert in a 12yo's mind. Hope that helps.

I know in the big scheme of things this concert isn't a big deal. But he was always that way -- he would say that he and i were going to go here or there on vacation and leave the kids home beacuse we 'need to get away from them,' but he would never see the need for *them to have a vacation. He did change when I initially left and spent time with them, and I know they were so, so hopeful that he really had changed, that now that he is going back to who he's always been, it really hurts them, and that hurts me. I don't know how to handle it -- I don't want to badmouth him to them, but at the same time, how do I justify it to them, either, you know?

Robin in Montana said...

EL - True, and I doubt he would ever actually stop them from calling, but he will make it uncomfortable enough for them that they will opt out of it. The parenting plan specifically says that the kids are to be able to call the other parent, for any reason, any time they want. They are definitely allowed to call him when they are here, they just don't think of it. He could call them - he just doesn't. Kelly calls his girls every single night they aren't here, and every single morning. Takes a couple seconds and there is contact made, you know?

Robin in Montana said...

Margaret - I like how they are now insisting it's not your house, it's totally random. lol.

Anonymous said...

RiM - I am afraid you are my crystal ball:(

Erin said...

RiM- and at their age, they are not going to want to feel that way if they call you. Makes me sad that they may want to talk to their mama, but are made to feel like they shouldn't.

Erin said...

Megan- not a crystal ball. A sounding board if you need it. A voice of experience. That should be helpful, right? :)

Robin in Montana said...

Megan - I hope not. I wish that I had fought certain points more when the parenting plan happened, but I really did not ever expect the kinds of things he has done, either. :(

Lisa said...

Robin, that's just plainly shitty and mean on his part. Can I suggest you do something I used to do with Jake's dad when he'd try to limit Jake from contacting me and such? Meet up with him and have the girls with you. Also have a neutral witness with you (as in not Kelly). A cop is preferable, that's what I always did. With everyone present, tell the girls that they can *always call their dad anytime they wish, day or night. That he's their dad and if you two were still together, they'd be able to go to him anytime they wanted and that should not change for them now. Then tell them that when they're with their dad, the same rules apply - they can call you anytime they wish. Let them know that they shouldn't lose the ability to speak with both parents freely just because their parents no longer live together. Then look at him and say "Isn't that right?"

Jennifer-Lynn said...

RiM: I'm sorry. I've got nothing to add...I'm just sorry.

Megan, you have support here (as in me, and as in this board).

Lisa said...

Erin, new Crocs? It's a good day at your house. :-)

Bella, your dinner sounds terrific! Keep us posted, and how about posting the recipe for the risotto?

I've got zero plans for this weekend, and that suits me fine. Well, other than housecleaning, that is.

I'm completely obsessed and upset about the oil heading toward the gulf coast. How is it that we don't have the technology to clean up oil before it reaches shore? I hope this doesn't turn out to be one of the worst ecological disasters in our country's history, but I'm afraid it will be.

Angie said...

Robin, I'm so sorry about your asshole ex. That just sucks.

SW - The oil slick in Louisiana is so, so sad. There were a few disasters such as that in Europe and it was always a real catastrophe for the fauna and flora, as well as for the people.

The amount of oil also seems enormous compared to other oil slicks. I hope the gov't can avert a disaster.

Hi Kay! There was another coincidence yesterday - two spyware programs tried to load on my laptop. I must be more careful from now on how and where I click.

The birds are building a new next outside my window today. There's another bird hanging out of the first nest dead :(

KaytieJ said...

Big day for Zaya and for his mom!

EL & BD - sorry your little ones are not feeling well.

Hope the next nest has healthier babies in it. I am having fun watching baby squirrels run around our walnut trees. They are so cute.

Erin said...

Kaytie- you have baby squirrels?? Lucky.

Lisa said...

Lol, I see I need to do some cleaning around here. :-D

KaytieJ said...

Erin or should I say THE Erin - yes, baby squirrels and baby rabbits are all over the place. They are adorable now, but when the squirrels get bigger and the trees are full of walnuts, all hell breaks loose. They turn into Ninja Squirrels. I am then the one dashing all over the place to not get conked on the head with a walnut. And the rabbits - coming home from work in the morning I am all over our driveway not to hit them. OY!

Erin said...

Kaytie- as long as you show proper reverence for me, you may call me Erin. ::nodding::
My neighbors fence and mine is boardered with walnuts, and I have a black walnut in my far back yard. We have had squirrels fall out of the tree to their death fighting! I hate mowing the lawn with all them also. Projectiles. And don't get me started on hiding them in my flowerpots. But I would love to watch baby squirrels!

SW, we have some technology to clean up the spills, the problem is the amount spilling and continuing to spill into the ocean. Not sure why yet (still investigating) but transocean can not close the well off, so it is pertptually spilling as we speak. The last report I read said there would be an estimated 19 billion gallons realeased before the problem was fixed. Very, very bad for the environment and the economy, especially for BP!!

AWESOME! Your Teddy sounds like my son. He drags in every hurt animal for me to "save" and lord help me if I run over something. I laughed too, because I have a sleeping bag in my car :-D

KaytieJ said...

Hello Suz! And thanks for the shot!

Hey SW!
How is life treating you? I am doing pretty well, just busy as hell at work. I can not for the life of me get this site to load from my home laptop. It will load 1 billion times, instead of once.
Glad it is Friday, this week has been kooky. Full moon kooky.

" I just looked at your blog and the pics of the coast from taking your son to college. Beautiful. I want to visit!"

Me too, me too! ;-)

Hi Suz! Welcome back!!

Shannon said...

Hey suz good to *see you :)

Angie said...

Suz, sounds like a virus/malware issue. Have you done a virus scan? Is the moon full? Because Margaret has taught us that if we shake our wallets at the full moon, we'll get money. I aim to try it during th next full moon.

Morning Daisy's - catching up - Taiya - I have been meaning to tell you this, I got some Heel Tastic at Walgreens (the stuff they sell on tv) and it works great - is all natural - and smells good! put it on after shower and at bedtime and my feet are becoming summer flip flop ready - and I have super dry feet and heals that crack and bleed... Might want to try it...

Ok going to read - Oh and by the way - Momma cat still in labor - Patti is over there now - I'm home doing stuff, and have Tay - but she is pushing now... I feel like I've been giving a blow by blow of this cat delivery... but I've never heard of a cat taking this long to give birth! I hope she and the kittens will be ok!

twirldawg said...

Karen you really should have tweeted the delivery. Pictures included :)

Kay - I had out IT guy scan my computer. I'm am REALLY not saying one has to do with the other. I'm really bad about scanning computers.

Suzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I have a new little buddy - sweetest man. Was on the beach D-Day. He brought me flowers today :)

Hi Shannon, how is life??

SW, I have some sort of virus scan on the laptop and it has not picked it up. My hubs took it in a few weeks ago and they said it was fine. It only happens with this site, fellowship and face book. Pisses me off too because I can not get caught up at home where I have the most time.
Shaking my wallet at the full moon? Will have to give that a try.
KaytieJ, I really am going to have that shot when I get home tonight!
Hi Corinne!!

Shannon said...

Life isnt too bad suz...has actually been getting a lot better since we last *saw each other :)

how are all of you doing?

KaytieJ said...

Corinne the Vile - Hello!

KaytieJ said...

Margaret - that is so sweet. Don't you just love talking with vets. I like hearing their stories and most, not all, like to share them.

suz said...

Shannon, How much more school do you have? Do you take summer courses too or follow the school year? I miss having summer vacation like when you were in school. Wish there was such a thing a work summer vacation. I mean extended vacation.
Hey Margaret! You sure do find some awesome friends don't you?

Shannon said...

I take classes during the summer too but I take lighter classes for the term so that I have more time to play :)

Karen said...

Jill I don't tweet - if I did you bet I'd be givign a blow by blow!

Shannon tell us how you really feel!

RiM - sorry about the situation with your kids and our ex - my Ex is the same way with my kids, my youngest found out that her dad and his wife just gave the wife's oldest daughter $1,000 to get them started in a new apartment. Megan asked him to stop and buy her some diapers the other day cause she couldn't get out of the house and didn't have any $$ and he said he was broke... They are all adults though and they can choose when/if they see their father, it sucks that your girls have no choice!

Shannon said...

That wasnt good enough for ya Karen? I can do better if I need to

Robin in Montana said...

Hi Suz!

Does anyone own the Adobe program?

Robin in Montana said...

Hi Karen! I read some, but not all - trying to catch up - about your kitty delivery day. Is this her first litter?

And I predict my girls will be facing some situations like what yours is once he and the new wife have kids. They're already seeing there is money for her but not for them, and a new baby won't make it any better. Oh, well. All I can do is be there for them and do the most I can for them emotionally and financially and every other way. I hate this.

Karen said...

LOL no it was pretty impressive Shannon!! I'm a little bit shocked AP didn't know queef though!! LOL

Patti and I worked together for a short time in NY and the controller there was a royal bitch! Our nickname for her was CAWB (cunt-ass whore bitch) so now when someone is super irritating, I think of them as a CAWB! There are plenty of CAWB's in this world too, aren't there!!! LOL

Anonymous said...

RiM - I do, what do you need? (adobe)

KaytieJ said...

Ginger - You are probably sleeping now, but thinking of you. Hope your "vacation" goes well. But, ick, to those early morning hours! Hope they have a coffee maker in your hotel room :-D

suz said...

Shannon, good for you on a lighter summer schedule. I would too.
My besties daughter is getting married tomorrow so I am off to help her with some errands. I hope to be around here more, I have missed ya daisies.
* See ya! Have a great weekend everyone.

Karen said...

No apparently she has had 3 other pregnancies, two of them the kittens came early and were all born dead, the last time she had kittens she had one, and it was born alive and EWWW one of the neighbors dogs was at their house cause they were dog-sitting and that dog ate the kitten when it was a few hours old! So, this time she seems to be full term and so far the kittens are still alive, but this is taking forever, at 1 Patti called and said she was pushing really hard, and at 2 my daughter called and said she is still pushing! I hope that she's ok and that the babies are ok. Its my daughter's boyfriends mother's cat - and thats where Megan lives... she's a small calico and they are hoping for an all black kitten so that when Megan moves out, she can take a kitten with her!

As far as the kids, my ex's new wife has 5 and my 3 have figured out a long time ago that she tells him that her kids rate as #1-5 and my kids are the bottom of the list, and my kids are not at all close to them, the grandkids don't really know their grandpa and its sad to me... he used to be a nice guy, really. But your girls will see that you are there for them, you don't bash their dad and you do the right thing even though its hard. And when they are grown, they will remember! Its sad for them, and it hurts, but they have you and they will heal from all of this hell he puts them through, although its so sad to allow them to have to do that every time they visit... I'm really sorry!

Shannon said...

Have a blast suz...how exciting!!!

back to work, just wanted to let ya'll know.

Karen said...

Silva's I was so nervous for my son to get on the bus, and it was late, like 45 minutes late, by the time it got there, and I got him on, I wasn't nearly as teary as I thought I'd be. With my last though, I was teary - she was my baby... and they were all in school - it was weird. However, I was doing home day care and I had 5 kids at the time that I was watching, so it wasn't like I was "alone" while she was in school! Now I get to go through all the firsts again with the grandsons, and thats just as fun and exciting!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Bella, how do you know? Shannon, what do you mean?

I think I missed something.

Margo said...

Kay - is your avatar a picture you took? Really beautiful!

Bella - I still think your dog needs a whole lot more than orthodontia :)

Karen said...

Bella - that is funny - wonder who/how/why that happened? LOL

Margo said...

Please don't start with the lady balls again!

Anonymous said...

Karen...I've said it before, but I want to say it again. You are a neat grandma and I am envious of your kids.

Hi everyone. I missed Corinne...bummer.

Shannon said...

BD you go to the site and it says ACCOUNT SUSPENDED

doesnt show it in Reader though

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Shannon:

Well, that would do it. :)

Shannon said...

LOL Yes I am a smart ass I can own it :)

Shannon said...

And in fairness and full disclosure it actually says

THIS ACCOUNT HAS BEEN SUSPENDED

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Odd. I am curious, though I probably shouldn't be.

Karen said...

Thanks Christy - I am so glad I am back in town and local to them all now - if I go more than a day or two without seeing any of them I start having withdrawals! I was born to be a mom, and a grandma, and I enjoy every minute I spend with them. With the grands its even better than when mine were little, cause I had all the worries and stresses of being young and having little ones.... Now I think I take advantage of them being small and enjoy every minute of it cause I know they grow up fast - plus eventually they go home and I get my alone time again, it really is the best of both worlds!!

Karen said...

Shannon what happens when you look at it in Reader?

Shannon said...

I can read all the posts in reader...but if I click on any of them I get the suspended message.

Anonymous said...

Afternoon ladies, gents, lurkers, whoever else.

Lisa said...

I wonder if our Twitter friend who got linked on it yesterday had anything to do with the suspension? I'd bet so.

Lisa said...

Well, that was a cryptic thing I just said...lol. I mean the techie guy whose Twitter she was using as hers on the link.

Shannon said...

LOL hopefully that would be just.

Shannon said...

YAY Karen's mom!!!!!

Karen said...

I know Shannon - she is so happy! On her facebook on the 22nd she wrote I'M SINGLE!!! not that she's looking or anything! But she is even going back to her maiden name at 71 years old - she doesn't want to have his name for a day longer than she has to!!!

Karen said...

Rhys - I am watching a show on discovery health right now about a baby being born to a group b strep mommy that didn't have the testing done cause she was early... They are very much stressing making sure people get the test done early enough to know for sure... At least they are getting the word out right? Not sure if that would make a difference, but thought you might want to know they featured it on this show! and by the way been at your CB page and Lia is so freaking adorable I just want to squish her!! LOL (i wouldn't... but she just seems so squeezable!!!)
