Monday morning Eugenics.

To learn more: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugenics

"Early eugenicists were mostly concerned with perceived intelligence factors that often correlated strongly with social class. Many eugenicists took inspiration from the selective breeding of animals (where purebreds are often strived for) as their analogy for improving human society."

Ok, wtf are steel cut oats??? I buy just regular ole Quaker Oats. What the hell are you guys talking about? If they take so much longer to cook, why not just get the Quaker?

Heather said...

i see my fellow oopsie daisies are getting blasted all over the place. have you all been acting up? no, i know you're not...but between lyrics and BF and shannon's blog, it looks like y'all are being chased through hell with gasoline underwear on. what the heck is up with people?

and yes, i have broken my BF detox-briefly just to try and figure out what the big to-do is. i'm incognito though. but i think i'm pretty obvious.

sigh...same old, same old. young impressionable girls fiercely protecting their idol and some older women that i'm guessing would benefit greatly by some antipsychotic meds.

if i'm missing anything, care to offer a recap of highlights?

and i have missed the conversations here. y'all rock.

Heather said...

Jeanette, I'm with you...but I kinda like the quick and easy flavored packets. Probably not at all healthy. Does it help that I make them with whole milk?

Lisa said...

I'm still here.

Jeanette, steel cut oats are...hmmm...more like Grapenuts cereal than Quaker oats in size, shape and taste. And not exactly that, even, but that's the best I can explain them. They're very good but, for me, not worth the extra work.

Hi there, Heather! So we're being talked about, are we? I reckon we're a rebellious lot with our talk of steel cut oats, crockpotting, babies and hockey. Damn us to hell.

Anonymous said...

checking in :)

Anonymous said...

Well, unless you crockpot steel cut oats overnight like *some people* (italics would be nice)

Lisa said...

Hi, Ann. Bye, Ann.

I'm really going now...I'm dog tired.

Jeanette said...

Heather!!! I was thinking about you earlier today!

I like the flavored packets too! Toss em in the microwave, add some sugar and milk, and chow down.

Thanks for explaining AP. I think I'll stick to the easy way out, lol. I do like grape nuts cereal though. When you come cook for me you'll have to make me some of the steel cut;)

people who molest children can be rehabbed and saved? WTH? um no.

and who in any good conscience would make a child reunite with some monster who hurt them like that? i can not even imagine.

fortunately i have not had any problems like that in my family, but i do have a person close to me who's father is in prison for such crimes. the person hopes he dies a long, painful, death. so no, you don't encourage a child to reunite.

not too forget, i've seen shows with predators who will straight up tell you that there is no rehabbing them.

nasty. glad i didn't see that convo. and why oh why would anyone say such crap?

Jeanette said...

Gah.. I didn't want to get into this, but I'm going to anyway.

I read the thread. I don't think JM was saying that a molester *should* be forgiven, I think she was saying they *can* be. I would never forgive someone for touching my girls. Never. I think that anyone who touches a child deserves to rot in hell. So I'm not saying that I even think they *can* be forgiven. I'm just saying I think that is what JM was meaning. I didn't get from her posts that she thought the mother should try to save the marriage, she just thinks it is possible for the molester to be forgiven by God and then if the mother wanted to save the marriage, it could happen.

When I first saw mention of the thread it sounded like she had said even if a child was molested, the mother should try and save the marriage. After reading it, I didn't get that impression. That's just me though. You would have to read it yourself and draw your own opinion.

Shana said...

Hello friends! Guess everyone has gone to bed??

I'm a little late, but Jeanette, that is what I got from it as well. That JM was just saying that God forgives & some people are able to work through the situation with the proper counseling. Not that she would or could.

Steel cut outs...I have googled & read blogs about them. It seems like a lot of trouble & I would be worried if I had under/overcooked them.

Lisa said...

*hides face*

I'm still up. Can someone post a link so I can read what she said?

Muliebrity said...

A lot of us have migrated to a brand new blog frog opened by that saucy little SIF. We are having fun over there! It's like what happens when the teacher leaves the classroom.

Shana said...

It's an 8 page thread on BF, AP. She even said that even if you forgive the person that legally they wouldn't be allowed to be around the child anyways. She went on to say that God doesn't want us to stay in abusive relationship's, but basically God forgive's & with the proper counseling *some people may be able to work past it.

It was really just all in how you interpreted it.

Muliebrity said...

Shana, Go back and read page 1.

Shana said...

Ok...going now =0)

Jeanette said...

I saw that SIF had started a community. I was telling Shana earlier that her avatar reminds me so much of Jessica Spano from Saved by the Bell! lol!

Muliebrity said...

SIF is too sweet to poke fun at! But I'm going back to look at it again...

Shana said...

Are you talking about where she says that *all marriages can be saved? If so, that was said before the molestation issue was brought up. She also said in that same statement "if abuse or infidelity or any dangerous behavior is happening" to get out.

As I said, it is how you want to interpret it. I don't think for one minute that even if this is how she thinks, that she would be dumb enough to post it. Too much is being read into it.

Muliebrity said...

Heather said...

Thanks for the clarification about JM and forgiveness. It's so very hard. I couldn't imagine something happening to my girls. It would be impossible for me to forgive something like that. God can though. Me, I'm human and imperfect. And I am thankful for forgiveness.

But it does make me think about sin in general and how to God it is believed that all sin is created equal...lying, coveting, murder. Or atleast that is what I've been told. Hard for me to understand and accept.

Jeanette said...

Mulie, are you talking about what I said about her avatar? I wasn't poking fun at all! I think Elizabeth Berkley(Jessica Spano) is beautiful, I meant it as a compliment.

Muliebrity said...

she was on a slippery slope, but I think she pulled herself out of it enough. She should just posted her true feelings first instead of trying to be biblical about it.

Muliebrity said...

I know! I am just paranoid and I hate that. Been a rough weekend and I should probably just let it end.

Shana said...

Well, as someone that had horrible things done to them & a mother that stayed for longer than she should have...I'm done reading & definitely wouldn't be defending her if I thought that is what she meant. I'm done reading.

Jeanette said...

I think that is just how she talks, Mulie. She tries to be upbeat and positive about everything. I used to read a lot of her stuff out of context, and would get real fired up about some things. I guess just after talking with her in email, I am better than I was at understanding what she means from what she says.

Muliebrity said...

upbeat is exactly the way to describe it, Jeanette. I like Jennifer. We have had some positive interactions. I headed over here when the freaks started to come out on BF and I was getting frustrated.

Muliebrity said...

Peace out. Just had my skype session with the husband and now I just might be off to bed.

Jeanette said...

I posted to Blogfrog today and I can honestly say it was maybe the 3rd time I have posted in almost a year. I am not real interested in religious debate, and prefer this kind of forum than ones like the BF where I have to jump from post to post. I talk with JM via email, and she isn't real active on the BF anyway. The only reason I posted today was to defend this site and Shannon, then I stuck around and posted to a few more topics. I probably won't post there again for another few months, unless of course I am "quoted" again.

Jeanette said...

Good night Mulie!

Shannon said...

Oh have I missed everyone? I was doing that silly time with my husband thing....Though it was me playing a video game because he got frustrated at his and wanted to watch me play mine for a while LOL

Shana said...

Hey Shannon!

Sorry, I stepped away & now everyone is gone to bed! Guess I'm gone as well. *See you all in the morning =0)

PJ said...

Morning - dog woke me up too early.

AP - that video woke me up even more, in a hurry. You like to be a lightning rod, don't you?

My take on the BF all marriages can be fixed crap is that, once again, Jennifer came out, guns a blazing, but has never had gun safety training.

She shoots her mouth off, making really difficult situations seem cut and dried. When people start saying she's full of it, she spends time sticking to her original, uneducated and uninformed opinion.

She just can't say she's wrong, or that she didn't consider different situations, that maybe she didn't think through it, or understand the complexity of her simplistic perspective.

Shoots herself in the foot, and then tries to pretend she's not bleeding like a stuck pig.

I'd be embarrassed for her, except she's old enough to know better and learn from her previous ignorant opinions. Or maybe not.

PJ said...

As far as steel cut oats - definitely worth the little bit of extra time. Cook a batch while you're making dinner. Toast the chopped pecans then too (not too high a heat).

Put them in the frig and just reheat a single serving in the morning (1 minute, just like the instant stuff). Defrost a 1/4 cup of frozen berries (takes about a minute too).

Morning all!

Hi CK! Sorry about the dog! How are you this am?

It is pouring (is that how you spell that, looks wrong) out! Good times.

LM woke up at 4:45 and then it took me another 45 minutes to get back to sleep and then the alarm went off.

Off to get ready!

PJ said...

I'm good, Kristin - how are you?

I got some things done this weekend - and feel a litle less like a lazy bum as a result.

Pouring - looks okay to me (the spelling that is, not the rain).

Someday soon we'll get rain again - winter has seemed SO long this year.

kristin said...

Hey CK! Thanks, it looked wrong to me but I am tired :(

Head hurts too, maybe the weather change.

Alright, gotta get dressed and get LM ready.

Have a great day and I'll *see ya later!

Morning all! Hi and welcome DK!

I'm coming down with a cold, and feel icky this morning. I don't know if I'll make it all day at work, because I'm a big baby when I feel bad (kind of like a man that way). But I need to because I've got tons of work to do.

CK, I haven't watched last night's Brothers and Sisters yet. I hope it was good. To my absent sister wives, I haven't watched Big Love yet either. And where the heck are you?

kristin said...

Yeah, probably DK! My mom has a pool and we are usually there every weekend. How long are you staying?

Morning SW! Sorry you aren't feeling well! :(

Good morning, everyone.

I could not get on yesterday, for love or money. I could read, so except for this thread, I'm all caught up, so I was like Queen of the Lurkers.

How is everyone?

Morning queen of lurkers!

Good morning!

"AP - that video woke me up even more, in a hurry. You like to be a lightning rod, don't you?"

I never thought about it *quite like that. :-D

Hi, DK, nice to meet you and hello, Deb! I was wondering about your daughter...is her surgery soon?

SW, I'm sorry you're sickish. :-(

BD, I wondered where you got off to.

kristin said...

Morning AP! How are you?

Anonymous said...

Hi all!

Deb- Thanks for asking about me :-) I'm fine. The storm was pretty bad but we're safe and sound :-).

kristin said...

Hey Corinne! Glad to hear you are okay!

When you guys get storms like that, do you guys lose power similar to the states? Just wondering b/c it seems many lose power when storms come through.

Lisa said...

Good enough here, Kristin. I'm thinking about panting my office today. How's work?

kristin said...

AP - How do you pant your office? Is that a new texture technique?

I am okay, just have a headache.

Lisa said...

Again with the headache? I'm sorry. :-(

To pant an office you glue khaki to the walls. Smartass. You knew I meant painting.

Anonymous said...

OMG. I just read JM's post on marriage on BF. Made me want to throw up. Her dualistic ways annoy me.

Has anyone heard of RiM?

kristin said...

me a smartass? NEVER! sorry, couldn't resist!

I think its the weather change. It is gloomy and raining, where yesterday it was gorgeous. Also, my sinuses were messed up this morning.

What color paint?

kristin said...

Corinne - I e-mailed her, she said she had a busy weekend.

That storm you guys had looks crazy. Said it 51 were killed.

Anonymous said...

Kristin- We don't lose power because the power lines are underground.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

A. is pushing poor Alice T. around in a baby carriage, using a handtowel as a baby blanket. Cat is just laying there, defeated. She didn't realize when we adopted her that she gained a home, but lost her dignity.

Lisa said...

Kristin, gray again. The walls are a deep gray and I had a gross cat-related event happen awhile ago that necessitated me scrubbing the walls. It messed the paint up so I'm going to just repaint the same color and then maybe mess with some faux stone painting on one wall.

Corinne, RinM is okay..I just heard from her. She had a busy weekend but I think she'll be by soon. :-)

Anonymous said...

Kristin- Sorry about the headache! You should get it checked out, it seems like you have headaches/migraines quite often.

The storm was crazy! In Belgium there is mostly material damage. One man was killed by a tree that fell on him.
In France it was a real catastrophe. 47 people were killed because several levees broke. There are also major floodings.

Deb said...

Hi everyone -

Corinne - I'm glad to hear you are okay. Sounds like you all took a pretty good hit over there, much like a hurricane.

Hi AP! - Thanks for asking, Lauren's surgery is scheduled for Wednesday morning. She is getting pretty nervous.

Anonymous said...

Bd- LOL. Sounds like A. is having fun!

Anonymous said...

Deb- I hope Lauren's surgery goes well! I'll be thinking about her :-)

Anonymous said...

good morning :)
I keep responding to the shit over on BF.
JM is having to go back on her words, must make her dizzy, the back & forth, once she realizes that to go back with a child molesting husband not in everyone's best interest.

Lindsay said...

Good morning!

sorry for all the sicknesses and headaches. Hope you all are on the mend.

Corinne - that sounds horrible, glad you are okay.

Deb - if I don't talk to you, good luck on Wednesday. I'll be sending up positive thoughts.

Anonymous said...

And with the religion?
All the crap about God heals and fixes whom he wants to?

Turns me off SO MUCH from religion. Not that anyone had a chance to convert my atheist ass anyways. But really, a huge turn-off. To imply at all that some are worthy (people, babies, marriages, etc) of saving, others not as much.

Lisa said...

BD, don't kid yourself - Alice T. is a cat and if she wanted out of that carriage, she'd be out. She's loving it. :-)

Deb, I bet she is getting nervous. Poor kid. Should she be able to come home the same day?

kristin said...

Good luck Deb! Hope she is a good patient! Good luck to you both! Stock up on popsicles and jello!

Corinne - YIKES!

AP - I won't ask about the cat issues!

kristin said...

Morning Ann! Morning Lindsay!

Part of BF is really interesting. Different views, different thoughts. When they turn religious and righteous, can't handle that as much.

Though I do so miss that one girl. The one whose husband had never ejaculated in the 30 years prior to getting married?

Hi Kristin!

Robin in Montana said...

Morning all! Hi Corinne, and thank you for thinking of me. ::sniff::

I'm here, but like I told Kristin in email, weekends tend to be kind of a clusterfuck around here, and I don't get online much at all.

FT -- COngratulations to Shortround Steve on his appearance in this big ol' world! He's *gorgeous. I hope he's ready for the spoiling he's about to receive. :-D

Haven't had time to catch up, and may not get the chance. Anyone give me a recap?

kristin said...

Well we are a bunch of low life, no life, husband hating, jew hating, daisy snorting, not well bred losers here!

Glad you could join us!

Anonymous said...

Hi Ann! Hi Lindsay!

Ann- I believe in God. I also believe that He has chosen to give men free-will and has decided not to get involved in their lives. Bad things happen because people make choices and sometimes, bad - terrible, even- things happen for no reason at all.
I despise 'Prosperity theology'. I also think that the people who adhere to this doctrine are mostly blessed in life. If they were to be hit by cancer or another atrocious life event, I'm convinced they would be detered from accepting such a simplistic, dualistic theology.

Anonymous said...

{{{RiM}}}! So, you survived Alvin and the Chipmunks! Yay!

Robin in Montana said...

Kristin - Oh, I was still around for GM's denunciation of us. I'd love to print out all the shit she's said all over Internet-land and send it to her "well bred" friends and family. Maybe a nice little scrapbook for the grandkids? .

kristin said...

Oh, and we are a bunch of bullies and Shannon is our fearless leader - who got banned and then unbanned!

oh, and Lisa better straighten us out!

Yes, RiM - wouldn't that be a nice keepsake!

Robin in Montana said...

Corinne - I was Mother of the Year and slowed down to a rolling stop in front of the theatre, kicked them both out of the car, threw some money at them and drove off. The live-cam caught it all. :-D

Robin in Montana said...

Shannon got *unbanned? That's no fair! lol

Jennifer-Lynn said...

AP:

I know I'm going to walk into A.'s bedroom one day and find the cat dressed in her christening dress, or something.

Robin in Montana said...

Oh. We made soft pretzels for the kids on Saturday. They turned out *really well.

I know you all wanted to know that.

Anonymous said...

Bd- When you do, take a picture of the cat :-D

RiM- That wa a wise decision. That way, you didn't have to be tortured by that 'movie'! ;-)

Lisa said...

Okay, I read what JM said on BF. She's is definitely saying that any marriage can be saved if both parties want to make the necessary changes, which I agree with in most situations, but she does also say this:

"Okay, I know I said I'd try to stay out of the molestation thing because I have not been there, but the more I think about it (I hadn't much before tonight), the more I am with those of you who say forgiveness is great, but that guy wouldn't ever, ever come near my kids again."

I'm not having any complaints over anything she's said there. She made some statements without thinking about all of the possible situations and when given those situations, revised what she said a bit. Fair enough.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I've decided not to engage in the catfights initiated against us. My lower class Bronx beginnings would have me pulling hoop earrings, hiding razor blades under my tongue, and having my daddy beat up their daddy.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

No. Child molesters do not belong near children. I'm glad JM pulled her head out of her ass long enough to see that.

Lisa said...

BD, if the cat's agreeable to it, what's the problem? ;-)

Robin in Montana said...

BD - That's why I hang with you. I talk a big game, but I'm afraid I'm one of those girls who tuck their thumbs inside their fists before punching. :-D

Anonymous said...

AP- I'm glad JM added that. Children molesters...well, they should be castrated sans anesthesia (I'm not talking about chemical castration, I'm talking about the real thing). Then, they should be held captive in a small jail cell with only bread and water to eat for the rest of their lives.

kristin said...

I got your back RiM!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

AP:

Nothing, really. Except Alice T. is a moody little bitch, and one day A. is going to pick her up on the wrong day and get a scratch right in the cornea, or something.

Shannon said...

Morning ladies.

So my take on JM's response on BF...She replied with her head in her ass once again thinking the focus was all on her and HER marriage....forgetting to see that sometimes other people are married too. When she realized that it wasnt all about her the lightbulb went off and she corrected herself.

Now as for God and forgiveness....My husband, or anyone, touches my kids and guess what? God can forgive them all he wants to....come near them ever again and I will blow your fucking head off!!!!!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

RiM:

Always go for the eyes, preferably with a key. ::reflecting on a misspent youth with several bad boys::

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Shannon:

Not only could I not forget, I don't think I could forgive. No, I know I could not. I would forgive someone for hurting me deeply, physically and psychically, but not for hurting my kids. No way.

Shannon said...

Have you guys ever seen the movie Hard Candy? That movie is freaking awesome....I think all child molesters should have to watch it. It is about a girl who hooks up with this man online, she is like 14 I think he is in his 30's. Well little does he know but she knows exactly who and what he is and commences in some serious mind games with him....I think it is the same girl who played Juno?

Anonymous said...

I just read that in one of her posts, JM uses 'MST' for 'many small tweets'.

MST is the French equivalent of STD. :P

Shannon said...

Totally agree BD....God can do what he wants to do....I'm never gonna be so gracious.

Shannon said...

Corinne that just made me snort out my nose

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Shannon, I have not. Have you ever read "The End of Alice?" F____ked up book, that one.

Hi Sandy! (And THANKS for the link :-) )

Bd- Was that book a good read? I know I hesitated reading it at some point and I can't seem to remember why I decided against it.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Corinne:

The book is brutal. Have you read any other A.M. Homes?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I have a whole chicken defrosted for dinner, but I'm kind of sick of roasted chicken. Anyone have any suggestions?

Shannon said...

I dont know if I could handle that BD....I read a book a few years ago and cant remember the name of it to save my life. It was about a little boy who's mother severely abused and tried to kill him many times and then his salvation at being removed from the home....heart wrenching.

Bd- No, I haven't. I have 'Music for torching' at home but have not yet gotten around to reading it. I probably should.

Do you like her novels?

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Shannon:

Sounds like you read "A Child Called It" by Dave Pelzer.

Corinne, she's a transgressive writer in the vein of Chuck Pahlanik (author of "Fight Club" and, if gore is your thing, "Haunted"). I read Music for Torching, as well as some of her other work, but I think her purpose is to shock, rather than entertain. And, for me, that gets old.

Anonymous said...

Hi Suz!

Bd- I don't like shocking for the sole purpose of shocking, either. I guess I'll give it a try and see what I think of it.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Corinne, me either. If you happen to shock while explaining or entertaining or informing, go right ahead. But she (and Palahniuk, IMHO) just keeps trying to top herself, KWIM?

T@iy@ said...

I don't think I will be a welcomed poster here, but I also don't want to be a lurker, so I thought that I would admit that I spent my daughter's nap here reading to find out if I came up in conversation due to BF. So glad that I didn't, btw. I have no idea why I was paranoid about it here, because I generally don't have the compulsion to care what people think about me at all. Anyway, Hi to all. Shannon- hope you get my comment I left on your blog...

Anonymous said...

Bd- I definitely know what you mean. I understand shocking if it forces the reader to 'dig deeper'. Otherwise, I just don't see the point.

For me, it's the same with movies. Lars Von Trier is a director I don't like for this very reason. One of his latest movies, Antichrist, is filled with extreme violence and shocks the viewer a.lot. All of it is pointless though. You just don't see where he is going. That is the only time in my life I actually left the theater long before the end of the movie. And I was not alone in my disgust.

Jeanette said...

Morning everyone. Well, I guess it's afternoon. Whatever, it's f'n Monday.

Shannon, I saw Hard Candy. Kickass movie, and yes, she played in Juno. I watched both of those movies the same night actually.

I read all 3 of the series that started with A Child Called It. Heart wrenching books.

Don't mind me everyone. I just came to snort a daisy and scroll up and down a few times. I'm hoping the buzz will give me the energy to get off my ass and clean.

'Torture porn'. Yep. Antichrist falls into this category.

I hate that 'genre', too.

Hi, Taiya...I'm not sure why you don't think you'll be welcomed here. Everyone is. :-)

BD, I'll admit to liking some of Eli Roth's stuff but the Hostel movies? Crossed some comfort lines even for me. I had a hard time with those and I'm the one who loved Martyrs.

I am not usually worried about popularity. I was lucky enough to be home schooled and miss the whole high school experience where popularity rating was an issue. :) I will still be the same person, and if they choose to label me as something that I'm not.. well.. so be it. Their issue, not mine. Too much drama. I can't stand useless drama.

Hi Corinne!

Bd- Be careful! You do not want goofus to start acting up again! ;)

Maybe you won't fit in here after all...

I think I'm going to try to make the rotisserie in my George Foreman oven work. I've never used it. I think I'll stuff some herbs under the skin and just let it go to town.

Robin in Montana said...

BD -- Supposedly the food blog world "lost their mind" over this Jamie Oliver recipe. I dunno ... what do you think?

Useless drama makes the world go 'round!! :::raises hands high:::

Robin in Montana said...

BD - The rotisserie sounds good.

On the topic of food, AP, Kelly made a huge-ass pasta salad over the weekend and we used some of the bacon salt in it. To quote everyone's favorite fluff-head -- Yum-mo!

T@iy@ said...

Okay- maybe I should have said BF drama. i guess there is a distinct difference. I just went through about a bajillion comments here and didn't find anything like it. :)

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I still need to find this mythical "bacon salt."

Nilia said...

Corinne: yes, I hope to see Shortround this evening!

BD: Thanks!

I've been on the phone looking for Olympic mittens for my lowlife friends from Daisy. A lot of places I called had them and sold out yesterday. Figures.

Robin in Montana said...

Taiya -- That's a good distinction. I've not been able to stomach more than a few minutes worth of reading on BF, ever. It's possible that's why I was banned within a few hours of my first post ever there. :;cackles::

Jennifer-Lynn said...

RiM:

I might try that! Thanks.

Lisa said...

Okay, that chicken in the milk recipe has me intrigued...I'm making that this week. I think it sounds wonderful! BD< I vote yo utry this with your chicken.

Lisa said...

Lol...got so excited I forgot how to type.

Robin in Montana said...

BD - Here you go:

http://store.baconsalt.com/

Robin in Montana said...

If either of you try it, let me know, please? I'm having a hard time putting milk and roast chicken together.

T@iy@ said...

RiM- well, I don't *think* I'll be banned. It might be better for my time management if I did, though. I just found it a couple of weeks ago and it is kind of addicting to start with.

Lisa said...

BD, if you can't find bacon salt let me know. I'll send you a bottle.

Nilia said...

RiM: Hi, and thank you! I am totally in love with Shortround. Can't wait to see him later today.

Lindsay said...

Hi FT - Thanks so much for trying. Of course, it's the story of my life "A day late and a dollar short :)"

And you totally squeeze that little munchkin for his daisy sniffing, low-life, husband hating aunties :p

I'm all for bacon salt. I don't think there could be anything better than bacon and salt.

Nilia said...

Taiya: I'm afraid that here at Daisy we have (undeservedly) earned a reputation for being lowlifes who spend our time bashing, well, everybody not on here I guess.

Yesterday we discussed my new nephew, chuck roast, the Olympics and Olympics mittens. I might have missed a couple of nefarious topics.

I'm not usually on during the day and I *should be working on report cards, but Welcome!

Nilia said...

BD: I had a hard time finding bacon salt too and finally found 1 lonely place in Toronto that carried it. Check this site and see if anyone carries it near you. If not I can send you some too, let me know.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Well, now I have a craving for rotisserie chicken. :)

All right, I'll make this and let everyone know how it goes. Maybe I'll just get a rotisserie chicken for lunch and make salad with it. I like chicken enough to have it twice in one day.

Jennifer-Lynn said...

I would just like a flash flood of bacon salt to hit my house. :)

Seriously, before AP mentioned it, I'd never even heard of it. And now I want it, badly.

T@iy@ said...

Yeah, I read all about you ladies and your nefarious reputation! I am sure 'pot roast' must have been a cover for something else.

kidding. kidding. :)

kristin said...

Welcome Taiya! Very interesting name?

Now I have a hankering for bacon salt!

T@iy@ said...

Real name. Mom named me after a girl she used to babysit.

Never heard of bacon salt. Missing out, apparently.

kristin said...

Very cool!

Robin in Montana said...

Taiya -- Too bad you weren't here when we discussed sex as a form of worship! :-D

The bacon salt, it is a good thing. (I think you can order it from that site I linked) It'd be awfully good on rotisserie chicken, too, I bet. Ohhh, that beer-butt chicken on the grill with bacon salt. Beer, bacon, salt, and *chicken? What could be wrong with that?

FT - This is probably a dumb question, but where did "Shortround" come from?

T@iy@ said...

Hubs would probably love bacon salt. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for welcoming me. I've been spending too much time on here, so I am out to actually get back to my life!

Robin in Montana said...

Kelly is on the phone upstairs with his lawyer going over final settlement details. I could puke my nerves are so on edge.

kristin said...

Oh Robin, I'm sick for you. I really am sorry. :( Go sniff some daisy's - maybe make you feel better!

Bye Taiya - makes it sound like you have a life - I'm sorry, you just might not fit in with us low life, no life people!

(totally kidding by the way)

Anonymous said...

Bye, Taiya! See you later hopefully!

RiM- I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and Kelly!

kristin said...

Didn't jan tompkins used to post on OHIH? That name sounds familiar...she just made a comment on MWOP! I just read that as m - wop and made me think of boy bands!

Random!

Jennifer-Lynn said...

Keeping various appendages crossed for you, RiM!

Lisa said...

Awww, Robin, I feel for you right now and especially since whatever it is isn't going to be great. It's awful when the question is "just how bad will it be?" It's not too early to drink, you know.

Lisa said...

Kristin, that name rings a bell with me, too. Of course, it might be the power of suggestion, since you said it. Ask her.

Nilia said...

Okay just put together my chuck roast stuff in the crockpot. About to turn it on. ::nervous::

Taking pictures like I just had a baby.

Nilia said...

RiM: My 6 year old named him Steve first, it was the he wanted for the baby all along. Then he modified it to Shortround Steve. Shortround is a character on Indiana Jones Temple of Doom. I just learned yesterday, that Shortround is also a Decepticon on Transformers. Cool, huh?

Leaving soon for errands and will be back later, you no-gooders.

kristin said...

see ya FT! :)

Nilia said...

PS: Where the heck is Ciney, Namur? Sounds exotic!

Nilia said...

Bye Kristin!

kristin said...

I googled it and it says Belgium - so it must be Corinne!

Robin in Montana said...

Well, it wasn't as awful as I expected. A nasty chunk of his retirement/401(k), which we expected, and less of a cash settlement up front than we expected. And other crap, obviously. His attorney needs to be disbarred, in my ever humble opinion.

kristin said...

can you report her or something RiM?

Anonymous said...

LOL, FT. Ciney is *so not exotic. It's about an hour from where I live ;-)

Anonymous said...

RiM- Well, that sucks that his lawyer wasn't efficient :-(

Lindsay said...

RiM - that stinks. I'm sorry.

I do kind of feel like a no-life since Taiya left to attend to real life duties. And if you come by to lurk again, I really love your name!

Shannon said...

Sorry to have disappeared.....someone was demanding some worship before he started his day :)

TMI??? MUHAHAHAHA

Tayia it is good to see you here even though you arent here now cause I missed ya :)

BD yes it was A Child Called It.....that book so seriously broke my heart. I could never even fathom THINKING of doing those kind of things to my child let alone DOING them.

Robin in Montana said...

I can report her, yes, Kristin. But she's just not-smart-enough that she friended me on FB (at my request.) He ended up at that firm on my recommendation since I used to work there. I referred him to my old boss, who is a partner, and a killer divorce attorney. Unfortuantely, he's retiring, "of counsel" only and Kelly got the obligatory new hire associate.

She talks a good game and we inititally decided he should stay with that firm, thinking Bruce (my old boss) would (since they said he would) be working with her. She's so busy "proving" herself that she doesn't bring things to him when she should, and when she does, doesn't give him the whole story enough for him to really advise her well.

I've caught her in a ton of things that she misses on parenting plan/settlement documents and she always gets pissed. Today, she forwards their offer to Kelly, which includes a long letter of explanation from teh other attorney as to why they are requesting certain items and why things are left blank here or there on the forms. When Kelly calls her to go over it, she says, "I'm not sure what she's trying to pull with doing X." And Kelly points out they're not trying to "pull anything" that they have in fact given the reason in the LETTER they wrote. @@

Just that kind of thing.

I think at this point, it's not a fair settlement. However, it's not an ass-rape, either, and short of cutting thousands of dollars already spent on Barbie Matlock loose and starting over, which would inevitably mean a trial, he's better off to take this settlement and be done. The things they are haggling over are not so huge that they will impact him or us for the rest of our life. They will make a hit on us right now for sure, but the next thing will be a trial and that will be thousands more, so ... best to make the decision to fish and not cut bait. Or whatever. :-D

I do plan on writing (for him) a very long letter to the partners in that firm (with references to her non-totally-private FB page wherein she is seen dressed as a penis for Halloween and many, many times totally, totally sloshed) detailing what I see as her lack of professionalism, her lack of committment to her clients, her lack of ability to read documents submitted by other attorneys, comprehend them, and then offer advice and rebuttal in the best interest of her client, and her failure to decipher basic legal documents or retain basic details of a case from contac to contact. :-D

kristin said...

Yes Shannon - TMI! :) I thought you were a husband hater, come on now! You and Taiya are going against the standard. Geesh! Get with the program girl!

Shannon said...

Dammit I am a failure!!!!

How could I forget that I am a husband hater...maybe I should have him read Lyrics so he knows the REAL woman he married :)

Robin in Montana said...

I have to say every time that whole worship thing gets brought up again I think of BD and her "Darwin, you smart mother fucker!" reference and I laugh all over again.

kristin said...

I'm sorry RiM that you didn't get the service you expected and I hope the letter opens their eyes a bit.

Muliebrity said...

Worshiping my idol-in-Jesus caused me to get my water shut off today. I still worship you, AP. Even if I have been led down the wrong path.

besides that, how are you?

Shannon said...

HAHAHAHAHA Mulie that is horrible!!!!

Shannon said...

RiM I hate it when you have someone who is supposed to be helping you and all they end up doing is screwing you over....SUCKS

And can anyone tell me why I try to INSIST that it is skrew not screw?

Muliebrity said...

The best part is I ate some expired buffalo sauce on my salad last night. Not a great time to be without a toilet. Oh, and I'm broke.

kristin said...

Mulie - I'm sorry! :(

Robin in Montana said...

Mulie - Expired buffalo sauce is of the devil.

Shannon - you are skrewed up. HTH. :)
