Oh, and the laptop is pretty cool. I played games last night but got frustrated. There is one game and its kind of like survivor...but all I could figure out was how to get a few people to build a hut. My other people were "worried about food" but I couldn't figure out how to "find" food. The kids kept playing in puddles. So I gave up.
I'm here, had to run kids to school and go to the post office. Need to finish a transcript, hell or high water today and then I have to have a 500-pager out by as early next week as I can force it, so I might be a little scarce around here for a few days! You all can use this opportunity to talk about me, if you want! :-D
Kristin- I'm here. Have to evaluate my classes & professors from last semester and the forms are taking a while to fill in. Re: this morning's class: it's interesting but it does make my head spin!
Jill- I've tried that. Unfortunately, it didn't work ;)
Question from the form I'm filling in regarding my math class:
Were the explanations given by the professor clear and easy to understand?
Hmmm. Seeing as I found out that there are only 34 of us (out of about 400 students) who passed his class, I'm thinking no. Actually, it's a blessing I'm good at math because the dude made for a terrible professor. Nice person. Terrible professor.
Sounds like one of my professors where I went - when you got a 30 (out of 100) - you thought you were doing well. He did grade on a curve (or something) but never let anyone make an A! He had tenure.
I wish I could find one of his exams - they were entertaining to say the least. I think my sister threw them out.
SW- It's very rare that they decide to curve a test. If, in June, very few people get to pass the year, they may decide to allow students with an average between 10/20 & 12/20 to pass. (Usually, you have to have at last 10/20 in every class and an average of at least 12/20 to pass).
Math was not an easy final but I thought it was doable. I mean, yes, the explanations from the professor were inadequate and far from clear but still.
Just went and read it, Corinne. She says the U.S. women won't medal. She's probably right. I used to be borderline-obsessed with figure skating (back in the Nancy Kerrigan days). I still enjoy it but not obsessively, and only watch it during the Olympics.
Has anybody read Angie Smith's blog since yesterday? Apparently she got her feelings hurt over things that were said about her on someone's blog. Wonder if it was MWOP.
I like Angie, but I think she would do well to stay out of the line of fire re JM.
Hey, on MWoP someone said that there was another website that the moderator opened...was I misreading or is there indeed another place in which I can waste my time?
I did get complimented again...for being a bitch trying to get money from a customer :) lol!
Corinne, why no Russia love? Ekaterina Gordeva and Sergei Grinkov are my all time favorite pairs skaters. They were soooo beautiful together. I was heartbroken when he died.
No, really, I don't know why. They win so often and sometimes I can't help but think the judge are biased or corrupted. So, that's me being a rebel, I support whoever has less chances to win ;)
Oy. Just forwarded a voice mail Travis left me last night where he wishes me a "rotten fucking life" to my dad. Since it's in regard to Travis paying him the money he owes. He is not that amused. Stupid ass.
It's totally typical of him so it doesn't really faze (phase? No, that's not right) me at all, but I don't think my dad really had any idea that that's how he feels free to talk to me, and always has. I wonder how long until he calls the new wife a fucking bitch? ::beams::
I forwarded it to his dad and his brother, too, both elders in their little church where Travis is being widely regarded as the sad little victim whose wife left him and he's just doing the best he can to raise those 2 girls in spite of their mother-turned-whore. I like to be helpful in educating people and all like that. ::beams some more:::
What's anyone having for dinner? Fresh out of ideas or inspiration here, and going out is not an option tonight. (Choices out are a bar for steak, a "family" restaurant, or mediocre Mexican, or really bad pizza, so ... none of those appeal, either.)
No Corrine we havent yet covered the extra zero yet in the accounting classes but maybe I should see about having them add it in: How to deal with asshole customers. LOL
Yes - this invoice is past dues since November and I have been getting the run around - and it is starting to piss me off. It doesn't help that it's my time of the month too...and that LM woke up around 6 times last night.
Shannon- When you have that class, will you hand me your notes? I'll need to study that ;) (even though I have no desire of owning my own company, ever!)
For those of you that asked, my appointment went very well. Just the normal check up, as well as a follow up from the fall I took at Sister's house. We finally got the results from the bloodwork and some of the heart tests. I am having runs of SVT, no big shock.
I'm back home only to leave again, just sitting here while eating lunch. RiM, I'm planning on cold cereal for dinner. Does that help with your planning? You're welcome to come and join me!
Hey Jill, are you getting snow today? It's south of me, but my folks in extreme South Alabama have had at least an inch. It's quite the treat for them!
Good deal Jill. (Assuming you have plenty of bread and milk.) My parents were supposed to go to a funeral of one of their neighbors, who is also a member of their church. Dad e-mailed us kids today to tell us about the snow and to say that they won't be going to the funeral because of the snow. Kinda funny/sad because their town is tiny and the church is literally two miles away. But my Dad doesn't have any snow driving experience so I'm sure he just doesn't feel comfortable. It's above freezing, so I expect the roads are fine.
I've never understood why people like Cheerios. To me they taste like little cardboard circles. I eat grapenuts now, but wish I ate peanut butter crunch and/or cocoa pebbles. Those are the bomb.

are you calling off your engagement to AP? Oh no! This saddens me :(...or makes me happy and then I can give AP a shoulder to cry on b/c she will be heartbroken...and I can make my move :)
Well now don't go crazy, Kristin. I have no way of knowing who MWOP is, and/or whether he/she wants to marry me in the first place. And really, I think that AP probably loves MWOP as much as I do, so that a plural marriage might be in order.
LOL - funny post. You know, I don't care one way or the other if she edits the crap out of every picture she ever takes, but I do find it funny that she finds the time to chase all these hater blogs down and then rebut what's said about them in her own blog.
That Fort Cox thing got crazy yesterday, and that girl that owns the blog kept saying she was going to take the whole post down, but it kept staying. At the end she finally wrote something about now she really was taking it down, but thanks for all the hits. I literally did laugh out loud. Crazy like a fox, apparently. lol.
I am trying to be more liberal in my newly found rebellion stage of life, but I don't think I can in good faith support a three-some marriage. Let Kristin have a chance *somewhere.
Kristin -- hee. AFter I hit submit on that, I thought ... well, huh. Then I thought, well, we did agree that we could say anything here, so if I offended you, you could feel free to whack me upside the head. I joke, you know!
I have to say, reading the comments, nothing brings out my need to argue and be a cow like someone trying to direct what everyone is allowed to talk about. The last comment I saw where the commenter is asking to "please" stop talking about the unibrow for fear it do any more future possible damage to the kid is one example. I won't comment, but that kind of thing just drives me nuts-o.
Okay, so I'm surfing Huffington Post putting off making a phone call I don't want to make and came across a story about a luge athlete who died today after crashing in a training run. The story includes a video of the crash. Why do I want to look at it? Is it wrong to look at it? If I look at it, am I using this guy's death as entertainment? And isn't that wrong? What do you think?
Jennifer McKinneyIs it bad that it cracks me up when people try to harass me through my blog? It just doesn't bother me. And also I keep their IP addresses:)
I bet you are good at frisbee, Kristin. You're athletic that way. Frisbee baseball was one of the few backyard sports that I didn't completely suck at as a kid. Badmitton being another. I'm soooo not an athlete.
I want to play frisbee golf! It just looks like fun.
It's funny you mention that. Many, many moons ago I worked for a company and we did the corporate sports battle. It was hosted by Anderson Consulting. It was a sporting thing that corporations particiapted in - there were real events and fun events and each member had to participate in something like 3 events. There was the 60 yard dash and then the big ball relay. Anywho, my events were swimming and frisbee. It was fun. We ended up winning regionals and went to the finals in Clearwater, FL. It was a lot of fun although my experience in Clearwater, not so much.
Oh, I think it was televised too on ESPN, I think Bart Connor (???gymnast) was the announcer.
It was me and my partner, he had to stand 60 feet away and I had to throw as many frisbees to him in a minute. He had to catch them and contain them without setting them on the ground.
Our first few practices I hurt him a few times b/c I threw the frisbees so damn hard. I had to learn to throw light and fast. It was fun!
At the national level - there were corporations such as Reebok, etc. they placed well. We didn't but we sure did drink a lot!
I ended up at the ER on Halloween - yeah, that, not so fun!
Jil, Trudy, I'm sorry y'all aren't doing so well. :-(
Spent the day running my son to see his girlfriend - starting to wish they'd just live together or something - running boring errands and napping. It was good, although I'm not sure I appreciate coming back to find out I'm going to be in a plural marriage. Hmph. SW, did you watch the death video? Can you share the link? I'm watch it.
"On a totally separate sad note - the inventor of the frisbee died today :("
Welcome back, AP! We missed you muchly today. I did watch the video. They played it at least three times during the first few minutes of the Olympic coverage. Are you watching that?
I did not know...it's awful, I know. I probably heard but tend to tune things out sometimes. I do like ice skating, though - it's funny when they fall. Same with gymnastics.
Guess what! SW no longer has to feel sorry for me!
WOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!
I did have to take it to the verizon store to get it to work, and missed a bit of the opening ceremonies! It appears the disk that I had to install doesn't work for Windows 7.
I too find it amusing when people fall...sorry Jilly!
I remember singing this in 5th grade...and I cried b/c I was moving and leaving that school district. My mom got up on the cafeteria table and started dancing.
Swim lessons tomorrow and then we will see. Depends on the weather. I really want to go to the zoo but I may try the Children's museum..or maybe the space center...I dunno.

Kristin, She seems to be a bit better - her mood is certainly improved. She's looking into an opportunity to work as a camp counselor in New York this coming summer.
Don't know much more - this is third party info from her through my husband who talked to her today to drop off some prescriptions at her dorm.
I'm off school Monday, so I'll take her to her PT appt. Hope to learn more then (or before then if we connect on the phone).
Your crock pot roast was dry, Kristin? That's surprising.
The "aboriginal peoples of Canada" in the opening ceremony are cool and moving. Makes me wonder if they treated their aboriginal peoples better than we did. Guess they couldn't really have treated them worse, huh?
Sorry I didn't pop back on last night after finding you all...Rob got home earlier than I thought, then had quite a story for me about our former department. Thanks to all who said hello after I left for my meeting...hopefully we can catch up soon!
CK - its a toss up b/c I love kids and animals both.
I think the animals would be more rewarding and they can't talk back plus I'd be interacting with kids. But I love getting kids involved and educating them about things and getting them interested.
Yes, I did, but during our meeting yesterday, my boss announced she's taking the entire summer off: 2 weeks in Germany, then coming home and having surgery and will be off for 8-10 weeks. I haven't had a chance to respond, but I will!
SW,
Yes, indeed. Sad about the luger today, and we're watching what appear to be sock monkeys on ice right now...kinda creepy!
Kristin- I invited you over to eat dinner. I was even willing to offer you a choice between Fruit Loops and Cheerios! No need for you to have eaten the dry roast.
AP- If watching people fall is amusing to you, by all means come and visit me. You would never quit laughing.
Hi CK! How's your daughter doing with her physical therapy? I've been thinking about her lately.
SW- I'm sorry, but I prefer Cocoa Krispies. Will you forgive me?
Jill- I've always wanted to ask and just haven't. What got you involved in baton twirling? How is your toe feeling?
Trudy- I have a question for you. Do you mind if I e-mail you?
Kristin, Make up some beef or brown gravy (jar works just fine), italian dressing, mushrooms and add red wine. Cut up the roast into small pieces. Simmer it with the gravy. Serve over mashed potatoes. That might fix the dryness.
Kristin- Poor little man! Do you know if there is a virus or something going around daycare? I know the weather down here has been horrible... cold, gray and wet, that kind of wet that chills to the bone. Have ya'll had the same?
I say we skip the cereal and go eat over at CK's house. Her version of dry roast sounds good!
It's the gravy from the infamous OHIH recipe thread - somebody's version of easy roast beef.
We LOVE it! Except I use Newman's bottled italian dressing instead of one of the cheaper brands.
The first time I made it the roast was a bit dry. Cutting it up and simmering it in the gravy fixed that. I'll go find the official recipe and post it here.
3 1/2-5 lbs rump roast or sirloin tip roast 2 (12 ounce) cans Franco-American beef gravy 1 (8 ounce) can sliced mushrooms 1 (1 ounce) envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix 1/2 cup Italian dressing (I use Newman's Own or something even better) Red wine - makes everything taste better
carrot (optional) potato (optional)
Mix gravy, mushrooms, soup mix and Italian dressing; pour over beef roast. Bake covered 1 hour 15 minutes per pound at 300 degrees. Add carrots and/or potatoes during last hour if desired.
SO, YOU COULD JUST MAKE THE GRAVY AND MIX IN THE ALREADY ROASTED BEEF. (sorry to shout)
Hey Amy, good to see you too! I've been thinking about you and your family, especially your grandmother. I hope ya'll are doing okay, at least as well as you could expect to be doing. All of you are still in my heart and prayers.
Kristin- I hope he's feeling better so he can go swimming. I know the girls enjoyed the snow, at least for a few minutes. I've been in full blown pout over the cold and wet. I love the cold, hate the cold and wet though, especially since we were told to anticipate snow!
CK- Cool! Thanks for sharing the link. I'll have to go check it out.
I don't know much about the Winter Olympics. I watch gymnastics and the equestrian events in the Summer Games, but don't really get into the Winter Games. I enjoy watching figure skating when I flip past it but don't obsess over it the way I obsess over gymnastics. I did make a point to watch Katia and Sergei back when they competed and still watch their routines on tape on occasion. (I think it was SW that said something about them earlier?) As far as I'm concerned, there will never be more beautiful routines done on ice than those two.
Thank you, Tee. The kids and I talked to her last night and made plans to visit this weekend. She sounds good on the phone, but I would like to see her, you know?
I actually didn't know it was on either, I meant to look today but it got crazy at work.
After I got home from Verizon and got my internet working, I turned on the TV and there it was! I only missed the first 20 minutes or so, and from what I've heard it was a lot of replays of the gruesome luge accident.
My sister and the children will be coming down for Mardi Gras if the weather clears up. I'm making a packing list to e-mail to her as well as making one of everything we will need to bring with us to spend a day at the parades with five small children. I spent some time with the girls trying to describe what a parade is like and the kind of things that are thrown... beads, stuffed animals, cups, doubloons, ect. C (age 5) asked what a doubloon is and before I could answer her, AR (age 7 and a know it all) jumped in to explain. (in an oh-my-little-sister-is-so-stupid tone of voice)
"You know, a doubloon. It's a BAlloon that's been DEflated!"
Am I a very bad Tee Tee for wanting to laugh at the dejected expression that my correction to her definition caused?
Sandy- Really? Now I'm starting to regret that I didn't watch it!
Kristin- Can't say I've heard it, no. I'm not familiar with his name or the name of the song. What type of music does he sing?
Christy- Oh, okay. Sorry if you had explained that and I just forgot. My sister keeps a television in the girls' bedroom for the same purpose. It's not hooked up to anything, just lets them watch the occasional movie. I'm curious as to what made ya'll make that decision. Do you mind me asking? I'm always interested in other people's views on technology since mine are pretty different than the average viewpoint.
Everyone is welcome! The only real rules here are no spamming shit and no posting personal addresses, phone numbers or other similar info. I don't need that kind of stress. That's it, although it could change if someone gets creative or something. If you don't like what is said here, you can: 1) Say so; 2) Hold it in and stew on it; 3. Address it privately to the person who said it; 4) Snark about it to your friends; 5) Leave. Don't bother me with it, I don't care and I won't get involved. I might, however, talk about you behind your back or post your email/message to me on here. *grins*
Them's the rules...all of them.
Have fun!

Morning all! RiM, you're going to love Survivor! It was good. Hi Corinne and Kristin!
Kristin, what's the status of you getting internet access at home? I want to quit feeling sorry for you. :-)
CK, glad to see you checked in last night, and I was happy about your Dad's visit to Chicago. Sounds like he had a big time!

Hi and Bye AP! Whatcha doing all day?
Hi SW & AP!
Reposting:
RiM- That sucks about your ex! Why are men such dumbasses?
And LOL @ the gym thing!
SW - I tried last night to connect, as there were a few networks I had access to but most of them were protected and one was limited access.
My sis brought my laptop bag to me today so I'm hoping I can set it up tonight (my wireless thing was in the bag).
Corinne - your class sounds ummm....interesting but not something I would have much fun in.
I also played wheel of fortune.
Where is everyone today?
Anyone got plans this weekend?
I got my hair cut last night - it was a birthday present from my mom! It's short..but can still go in a ponytail!
I'm here, had to run kids to school and go to the post office. And yay for new haircuts! I just got mine cut and colored last week -- feels and looks a world better!
I'm lurking. I don't have much to add to the conversation. I think I broke my pinky toe and I'm not feeling well on top of that.
Oh Jill - how did you "maybe" break your toe? Ouch!
Yes RiM - I only get mine when I'm forced and someone else pays :)
Have fun with that - does not sound like something I would enjoy :(
2 year old + 3lb dumbbells = broken toe.
Kristin- I'm here. Have to evaluate my classes & professors from last semester and the forms are taking a while to fill in.
Re: this morning's class: it's interesting but it does make my head spin!
Jill- Sorry you're not feeling well- that sucks!
Broken toes = major ouch! I hope you get to feeling better, Jill!
Thank you ladies.
I'm trying to change my blood type from A+ to Maxwell House.
Jill- I've tried that. Unfortunately, it didn't work ;)

Hi Jill and Rebecca! Jill, did you watch Survivor last night?
Who's excited about the winter olympics? (besides me) :-)
34 out of 400 passed, Corinne? Geez! Don't they grade on a curve in Belgium?
Sounds like one of my professors where I went - when you got a 30 (out of 100) - you thought you were doing well. He did grade on a curve (or something) but never let anyone make an A! He had tenure.

I love the Olympics too :)
Did you read what Sasha Cohen said about the American skating team?
Just went and read it, Corinne. She says the U.S. women won't medal. She's probably right. I used to be borderline-obsessed with figure skating (back in the Nancy Kerrigan days). I still enjoy it but not obsessively, and only watch it during the Olympics.
Corinne, are there any Belgians we should be looking for to medal?
I love the olympics and really enjoy figure skating, but I only watch it during olympic time!

Haha Jill! That's funny! Do you have a pic? Did you beat your BFF with a stick?
Oh, Jill... ouch! Broken toes hurt. I'm so sorry.
I'm off to the doctor. No snow, just rain. South MS has seen several inches already and the girls are thrilled. And cold. See ya'll later.
LOLOLOLOL SW- Belgian athletes for medals? Not. A. Chance.
We suck at sports. Well, except women tennis 'cause we have Justine Henin (who I hate) and Kim Clijsters. But Tennis is not a part of Winter Olympics.
I'm slightly obsessed with figure skating. I support any skater that is not Russian.
Hey, on MWoP someone said that there was another website that the moderator opened...was I misreading or is there indeed another place in which I can waste my time?

Hey Tee!
What are you going to the doctor for?
I e-mailed you, if you'd rather respond there. I understand.
LOL Jill! You have to show us a pic!
Jill...yes, show a pic...tweet it would ya?
Hi Tee! Hope the dr's appt. goes well.

Awesome RiM! Karma baby!
RiM- You are my hero :-)
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Hey Kristin! What's up? It's quiet here today...
Accounting and ignorant people...and talking about shit that I don't need to know b/c all I am trying to do is get money from the customer.
and then people who just like to argue for the sake of arguing and talking just to hear themselves talk.
and then being rude by talking over someone and interupting.
Yup, good times here.
Sounds like fun, indeed...
Kristin add a zero to their bill LOL
Shannon - Is that what they teach you in your accountancy class? LOL
How are you?
Believe it or not, I actually do work. lol
They have a new nickname for me at work - Pitbull!
At my other job I was nicknamed Payroll Nazi!
Payroll Nazi - I like that!
What's anyone having for dinner? Fresh out of ideas or inspiration here, and going out is not an option tonight. (Choices out are a bar for steak, a "family" restaurant, or mediocre Mexican, or really bad pizza, so ... none of those appeal, either.)
Kristin that is awesome!!!
Oh, RiM - I put a roast in the crockpot this morning - roast, carrots and potatoes.
Oh, Shannon - good cliff notes! I read at work today and was going to comment but got busy, so I closed the window!
RiM, I'm still eating leftovers from my Super Bowl party. Tonight it'll probably be a honey-baked ham sandwich and some leftover dip.

Tee -- Cold cereal sounds more appealing than anything else I've thought up tonight. :)
Glad the checkup went well.
Hi Tee!
I thought about cold cereal for dinner last night but all I have is Dora cereal and well, that did not sound appealing at all! I ended up eating PB&J!
Hey Jill, are you getting snow today? It's south of me, but my folks in extreme South Alabama have had at least an inch. It's quite the treat for them!
RiM- We'll set a place for you. Will you be having Fruit Loops or Cheerios?
Kristin- I've lived on PBJ this past week at Sister's house. I'm happy to be back to cold cereal! Kind of sad.
SW- All we got was cold and wet. Yuck.
We got cold and wet too...from early thursday morning through early today.
It has finally quit raining but it hasn't gotten out of the 40's today. brrrrr....
SW- it started snowing here about 30-45 min ago and it is coming down hard. They are letting the kids out in about 2 min (an hour earlier than usual)
Tee -- Cheerios, please. Froot Loops make these funny little blisters in my mouth.
I like lucky charms and cocoa krispies :)
I don't do breakfast much, just eat an early lunch. I have started to eat oatmeal.
Sis is whining, baby has found her bladder and is punching/kicking it :)
I don't really like cereal at all. That Fiber One actually is pretty decent. Kind of like Honey Bunches of Oats, but good for you. Or something. Doesn't taste like old people food.
Cocoa pebbles kick cocoa krispies ass. I'm just saying.
Chips and salsa kick *any cereal out there's ass. ::squares arms and readies for a throw-down::
OMG the new MWOP post is soooo badass! I want to know who MWOP is! And then I want to marry him/her.
are you calling off your engagement to AP?
Crazy like a fox, apparently. lol.
awwww damn...polygamy eh?
it is a great post!
I am trying to be more liberal in my newly found rebellion stage of life, but I don't think I can in good faith support a three-some marriage. Let Kristin have a chance *somewhere.
Thanks RiM...I think?
I see SeeSee came out to play....everytime I see her, I get this nasty mental image.
Kristin -- hee. AFter I hit submit on that, I thought ... well, huh. Then I thought, well, we did agree that we could say anything here, so if I offended you, you could feel free to whack me upside the head. I joke, you know!
No harm, no foul! :)
Wait, SW you will still be my sister-wife right?!
Just jumping in to say hi, I'll try to catch up tonight. new meds are kicking my ass. have a great day.
Hey Trudy!
Sorry you aren't feeling up to par!
Jill, I divorced Bill, remember? So unless you're willing to come elsewhere with me (and I suggest AP and/or MWOP), I guess we're through. :-(
Hi Trudy!
Hi Trudy! Sorry about the meds!
::makes note to self to add Big Love to list of t.v. to start watching:::
Okay, so I'm surfing Huffington Post putting off making a phone call I don't want to make and came across a story about a luge athlete who died today after crashing in a training run. The story includes a video of the crash. Why do I want to look at it? Is it wrong to look at it? If I look at it, am I using this guy's death as entertainment? And isn't that wrong? What do you think?
My sister just told me about that. How horrible!
On FB:
Jennifer McKinneyIs it bad that it cracks me up when people try to harass me through my blog? It just doesn't bother me. And also I keep their IP addresses:)
I also think that GM is on MWoP b/c she shows "active" on my gmail.
Where is everyone today?
On a totally separate sad note - the inventor of the frisbee died today :(
okay, not today...it says this week.
I think you're kind of a badass, Kristin. :-) I can't even imagine doing that.
It was fun! I loved the frisbee thing.
Everyone send me good internet vibes! I'm hoping that I can get on this weekend :)
Sending you good internet karma, Kristin!
alright ladies, it's five o'clock - off to get my little man...and *hopefully I will see you tonight :)
Hi, Honeys (Honies?), I'm home!
Well, that puts a sad spin on things. *nods*
Welcome back, AP! We missed you muchly today. I did watch the video. They played it at least three times during the first few minutes of the Olympic coverage. Are you watching that?
Have you caught up on MWOP yet, AP?
SW my husband is on the phone with his grandmother. Apparently she's in the one place in Alabama that didn't get any snow.
The Olympics are going on? Jeeeez, Louise. I need to keep up more. I missed y'all, too and am going to catch up on MWoP right now!
She's in Russelville, Jill? Am I close?
AP, really, you didn't know the Olympics started today. Sad. ::shaking head:: Opening ceremonies are tonight! Jill and I are watching.
I did not know...it's awful, I know. I probably heard but tend to tune things out sometimes. I do like ice skating, though - it's funny when they fall. Same with gymnastics.
SW- yes.
I'm not watching right now, my husband won't watch it with me.
AP- you ain't right.
Now look, I know I'm not the only one who finds people falling to be very funny. :-P
No, you aren't, AP, but that doesn't make it right. Do you laugh when, say, twirlers drop their batons? Hmmmmm?
I am such a sap for the Olympics. It's been on an hour and I've teared up about four times already!
I'd would a bit, yes, SW. Sorry, Jill. ;-) momentary look of absolute horror on their faces...it's beautiful to see!
I might just take my batons and go home.
kidding
Ahhhhh! That's just so wrong, AP!
Guess what! SW no longer has to feel sorry for me!
WOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!
I did have to take it to the verizon store to get it to work, and missed a bit of the opening ceremonies! It appears the disk that I had to install doesn't work for Windows 7.
I too find it amusing when people fall...sorry Jilly!
and I didn't mean to say jilly - damn keyboard is going to take some getting used to. My apologies Jill!
Evening all!
Hubby has a job interview on Tuesday.
I know - let's start a prayer chain!
And create a button.
Praying for Mole.
Remake of We are the World on the Olympic coverage AS WE SPEAK.
Yeah CK!
Good luck to Mr. CK!
Oh I love this song!
What is the job for?
I'm crying already.
Barbra!
Senior Chemist/Lab Manager for a local paint manufacturer.
Sounds glamorous doesn't it?
I remember singing this in 5th grade...and I cried b/c I was moving and leaving that school district. My mom got up on the cafeteria table and started dancing.
Pretty interesting remake!
Go, K's Mom!
It was interesting - I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Will need to watch a few more times.
I think I like it....
Sounds like a job I would enjoy CK!
Jilly? lol, good thing I like you guys.
I'm feeling super cruddy, so I'm going to bed.
Hi CK! It made me cry too. For about the 5th time in the last hour and a half. I'm excited about Mr. CK's interview!
Hoorraaayyy for Kristin's internet access!!
CK I hope he gets the job!
Night ladies
Sorry Jill for saying that....trying to get used to this computer.
And very sorry you aren't feeling well :( Hope you feel better!
Haha, Kristin, it's cool, really.
Night Jill, feel better!
Jill - your toe, or something else?
not sure if I like windows 7 or not!
Thanks for the warm welcome back SW! I feel *whole again!
Kristin - any plans with LM this weekend?
Swim lessons tomorrow and then we will see. Depends on the weather. I really want to go to the zoo but I may try the Children's museum..or maybe the space center...I dunno.
How is your daughter feeling?

Kristin,
She seems to be a bit better - her mood is certainly improved.
Kristin - those all sound like fun ways to spend a Saturday.
Where is everyone tonight? It's kinda quiet.
I'm tired but I need to get stuff together for swim lessons tomorrow and switch out laundry and put away dinner.
I made a roast and it was really dry :(
I always wanted to go to camp or be a counselor. What kind of camp would it be?
I need to submit my resume to the zoo.
Hi there, daisies...so glad to see you tonight!
Kristin- I read about the zoo jobs - they both sound good - different, but good. I'm sending you good thoughts on them.
Which do you think you'd like best?
Hi Amy, did you get my e-mail reply?
Hiya Amy! Watching the Olympics tonight?
Hi CK!!!
Kristin,
Yes, I did, but during our meeting yesterday, my boss announced she's taking the entire summer off: 2 weeks in Germany, then coming home and having surgery and will be off for 8-10 weeks. I haven't had a chance to respond, but I will!
SW,
Yes, indeed. Sad about the luger today, and we're watching what appear to be sock monkeys on ice right now...kinda creepy!
AP, did you catch up on MWOP yet? What did you think?
Hi Amy,
You should get her job. Since you do it anyway.
Tee, I'll forgive you, but I'm not inviting you over for cereal. :-)
Okay, I'm going to watch the rest of tonight's Olympic coverage from bed. Night everybody!
LM has a cough...was up about 5 times last night and complained of his throat hurting. His temp is about 99.9. maybe we won't do swimming tomorrow.
Tee - sorry about missing dinner :(
I think I might have to go buy me some cocoa krispies now. I did see they now have chocolate cheerios. That might be worth trying.
Night SW!
Snuggle in there, SW. Enjoy the show. (I really appreciated seeing the native dances and drummers, too.)
Kristin,
Make up some beef or brown gravy (jar works just fine), italian dressing, mushrooms and add red wine. Cut up the roast into small pieces. Simmer it with the gravy. Serve over mashed potatoes. That might fix the dryness.
Southern Woman- I understand! I, too, take my cereal choices very seriously!
Kristin- No... no, no, no! Cheerios are meant to be the healthy cereal! If they become the chocolate cereal, then what is the healthy cereal?
I'm beginning to think I take cereal way too seriously. Is there a 12 step program or something?
I'll try that CK!
Hi Tee! Good to see you here :)
CK, I hope to get a pay adjustment while she's out, but who knows? She'll be back to work, after Sept 1.
Tee - no idea about school but yes, it is cold and miserable here.
Amy - sounds like it will be a bit of relief for you even if its more work. Hope it works out!
First Iranian woman to compete in the Winter Olympics carried the flag in. Cool.
3 1/2-5 lbs rump roast or sirloin tip roast
2 (12 ounce) cans Franco-American beef gravy
1 (8 ounce) can sliced mushrooms
1 (1 ounce) envelope Lipton Onion Soup Mix
1/2 cup Italian dressing (I use Newman's Own or something even better)
Red wine - makes everything taste better
carrot (optional)
potato (optional)
Mix gravy, mushrooms, soup mix and Italian dressing; pour over beef roast.
Bake covered 1 hour 15 minutes per pound at 300 degrees.
Add carrots and/or potatoes during last hour if desired.
SO, YOU COULD JUST MAKE THE GRAVY AND MIX IN THE ALREADY ROASTED BEEF. (sorry to shout)
very cool!
USA has a luger that is from Houston. I think he has been in 3 different Winter Olympics!
CK- What sport is the Iranian woman competing in?
Tee,
Skiing - there have been Iranian women in the summer olympics, but never the winter olympics.
http://www.cnn.com/2010/SPORT/02/10/iran.olympic.skier/index.html
I just have to say all the sweden girls are beautiful.
I have vapo rub on LM and he is in his bed (as opposed to the floor).
We will see how long that lasts.
Amy - glad your grandma at least sounds better.
My grandma is going to be tested for diabetes. She has to go back for a glucose test and has been told to eat more red meat!
Hey Kristin! I'm one of those who didn't know the Olympics was starting. I wish I could watch it online.
I actually didn't know it was on either, I meant to look today but it got crazy at work.
After I got home from Verizon and got my internet working, I turned on the TV and there it was! I only missed the first 20 minutes or so, and from what I've heard it was a lot of replays of the gruesome luge accident.
Amy- I'm so glad ya'll will get the chance to visit with her! How far away does she live from you?
Kristin- I agree. As a general rule, I think all Swedish girls are beautiful. I love how clear and soft their skin appears to be.
oh...and HI Christy!
oh, its Bryan Adams! :)
Hey Christy! Is there some reason you can't watch the opening ceremonies on televison?
Who's Bryan Adams?
You ever heard of the song "summer of 69"?
He sang that song! That is one of my faves and brings back some memories!
We don't have our TV hooked up to anything...we just use it for movies and games.
I just saw that Sarah McLachlan was supposed to perform with him but they said that was Nelly Furtado, i wonder what happened.
Really cool lighting effects.
LOVIN' the whales! How F'in cool is that!
Now that would be an awesome tat!
Anyone here from Atlanta?
Not I CK - why?
Sarah's on - Ordinary Miracle
Okay - I'm just a huge geek - stuff with music, movement, visuals - moves me SO MUCH.
You are so not a geek! I love it too.
In tech theatre, we used to watch a lot of musicals and I LOVED it!
Music gets my ears, lyrics get my brain, visual stuff and dancing gets my eyes...
All combined, goes right to my heart.
I'm liking the whole water/ earth theme!
Now I want to go canoeing! I think I'm going to look into taking a few trips soon. Or at least when it gets warmer.
Hey all, I think this has been the best opening ceremonies yet.
I agree Sandy...sorry, had to finish my edamame!
Me too - I like that there are some "real" people - not just movie stars or pop entertainers. A few rough around the edges, authentic people.

Yes, you said this...
