Guess what we've got?

Pictures of our new Daisy babies, Muliette and Eeq, that's what!  Prepare your ovaries.   :-)

In birth order, allow me to introduce you all to little Miss Muliette first.

And then, born just a couple of days later, we have our Miss Eeq, along with her folks!

Welcome to the world, little Daisies.  :-)

From the last post, Bella is right about eggs being a good, cheap meal. She got me to thinking about frittatas and Elisabeth, you could make these easily to accommodate a low to no sodium lifestyle. http://allrecipes.com/recipes/breakfast-and-brunch/egg-dishes/frittata/top.aspx You also can use a Pyrex casserole dish if you don't have an iron skillet.

Does anyone still have The Silva's muffin tin recipe, speaking of food? This is going to sound stupid, but I don't even remember what it was, only that it involved putting stuff in a muffin tin and it sounded really good and fun. I meant to get it before I left SIP and forgot.

Oh my, those are beautiful babies. Congratulations to both of the new mommies.

babies!!! cute cute cute

twirldawg said...

Yay babies!!

Both girls are beautiful. Congrats Mulie and Tayia!

twirldawg said...

AP you are thinking of meatloaf muffins. I will try and find the recipe.

Deb said...

Good morning!

AP / Jill - I think it is the meatloaf in the muffin tins you are thinking of, it had Bisquick in it I think?

Margo said...

Super cute babies! Is it Monday already - ugh!

Deb said...

Adorable babies!

And luckily I'll admit, my ovaries didn't even twinge.

What's the plan for the week Jill?

Margo said...

No ovary twinges here either!

twirldawg said...

Deb no plans for the week :)

I'm having enough ovary twinges for everyone.

Deb said...

That is great Jill, sounds like you are falling right into place staying at home!

Angie said...

Such beautiful babies! Welcome Muliette and Eeq! You made us wait long enough!

Ugh, Monday.

Deb said...

Can't complain about this Monday, it's not hot and humid and it a day closer to Mark coming home!

Shannon said...

Morning ladies....I promise that sometime soon life around here will slow down....you know like finals will be over LOL

I am so in love with the babies. I dont want to have one but I sure would like to borrow one for a while.

Deb said...

Shannon - good luck with your finals!

KaytieJ said...

Awwwww....What a beautiful site and sight to come home to! Baby daisies!!! And of course they are gorgeous!!!

Shannon said...

Thanks Deb. I am a little nervous but not too bad.

I do think that I am taking off the Summer term though since as of right now nothing has been done with financial aid stuff so I think I am going to see about finding a part time job instead so that we can get moved out in a hurry :)

Shannon said...

Kaytie dont you do stuff with scholarships for college and stuff?

Deb said...

Shannon - how were the concerts?

Robin in Montana said...

Good morning all!

Those are the cutest babys, evah! :)

Elisabeth, those Mrs. Dash seasonings are all salt-free, and there are a ton of different ones. Also different kinds of pepper blends are nice for seasoning when you don't want salt. Lemon, vinegar, any kind of herbs all help, too. Hard to get used to no salt, but once you do, the food tastes so good!

Also, the venison with being tough, just needs to cook low and slow for a very, very long time. Even with the hamburger, if you could cook it with some onion or garlic and a beer, in the crockpot until the beer all evaporated it would be tender and you could go on to use it for whatever at that point - soup or spahetti or tacos. You can make taco meat without the packets with just cumin and chili powder, oregano, pepper, etc. Not the same as the packet, but good. And yeah, stirring in some black beans or mashed pinto beans, maybe a squeeze of lime, will stretch the meat out even further without losing any protein.

AP - This is not exact, but the Silvas recipe was those premade biscuits(I think) stuffed into a muffin pan and up the sides to make a cup. She cooked ground beef, seasoned it and maybe added garlic/onion, and barbecue sauce to make it kind of sloppy-joe-ish, then put it in the cups and baked. Then topped with grated cheddar. I think.

Robin in Montana said...

Still blabbing on, realizing Elisabeth may not even see this, and that I am late for the party on the food conversation.

If you made up the hamburger like that, you could use a little bit of low sodium beef broth, corn starch and water to make a sort of gravy, add to the hamburger, then put in a pan, can of reduced sodium (or frozen, better) green beans/corn/whatever and then mashed potatoes on top, and bake, add cheese on top at end, if you want, for a kind of potluck version of shepherd's pie. All of it very cheap.

Shannon said...

Deb the concerts were pretty cool. We were a little ticked off though because the guy we went to really see only had a very short 4 song set and the audio equipment was messed up. But it was still a lot of fun.

Robin in Montana said...

Cutest *BABIES. Not babys. Good grief.

Shannon - The Scholarship Program that dh is on is for kids from a very poor district of the city. The Scholarship is for kids to attend a college prep HS to get them ready for college.

The other program he is involved with is to get businesses to hire/mentor/internship State National Guard and Military (all branches) vets.

What's up?

Shannon said...

Robin I made a ham last night and what ever is left over from it tonight will be made into potato soup tomorrow for dinner.

I of course made this ham last night at lunch time and we all ate so much for lunch hardly anyone even ate dinner LOL pretty cool though because it means that I will now get a bone in ham to stretch to 3 dinners :)

Shannon said...

Kaytie I am looking for good sites to go to to apply for scholarships and wondering what it is that some of they look for to make you stand out :)

Deb said...

Shannon - bummer. At least I guess it was fun to get away! When is your last final?

Deb said...

Hey RiM!

Shannon said...

My last final is due on the 9th....my math final is due tomorrow and I just cant seem to get my ass into gear....in fact I am only giving myself another 15ish minutes to play online before I get started with the study and practice.

Robin in Montana said...

Hi there, Deb!

Shannon - darn you. Now I want potato soup. Or ham and beans. I have frozen leftover ham in the freezer .. hmmmm.

I made these white chicken enchiladas over the weekend that the friend I got the recipe from calls TYP Enchiladas (so good you'll touch your puss - hey, I have white trash friends :-)) and they got rave reviews, kids and Kelly were licking their plates and growling at each other. lol

Deb said...

Is it easy to make RiM? I wouldn't mind the recipe. I'm looking for new things to make this summer.

Angie said...

LOL Robin re the enchiladas! Post the recipe, please!

Robin in Montana said...

Deb - it's easy. I used leftover roasted chicken, but you could use rotisserie, or boil chicken breasts, whatever. I also used low-fat or lite everything this time and it was just as good (IMO) as full fat.

I'll put it in the recipe section.

Robin in Montana said...

Just a word of warning -- gourmet, this isn't! Cream o' soups are featured.

Robin in Montana said...

And also my measurements are ... approximate. I tend to wing it and have long since lost the actual recipe.

Shannon said...

You have to love those Cream o' recipes. I just went and bought groceries and part of what I need to finish it up is several cans of Cream o'....they kids will be out of school soon so I got bulk noodles, tuna and chicken, and need some cream o' soups so they can make their lunches. We dont do hot dogs or sandwiches around here cause the little bastards can eat all the stuff in one day

KaytieJ said...

Shannon - I will be brutal honest. I am not an expert on all the different sites and scholarships. And so, my offerings here may not be valid.
However, the ones we are involved with, I can say that what they are looking for is, that DESPITE all of the hardships or deprivations or circumstances, the person has a drive or very strong desire to work through and overcome that. And they have taken steps to show that they are doing so. Wish I could talk to you real time, because I know I am not good at the expressing the "Condensed Version"

In a nutshell. Shannon, you have shared it here. You have been through quite a bit and you are steadily and progressively working on getting yourself prepared. I am confident that certain scholarships will see that immediately!

Now, I am not being an ass, but off to bed I go, two more nights to go (I thought I was working 3 but it was 5 <------my bad).

Robin in Montana said...

Okay, the enchilada recipe is up. :-D

Deb said...

Thanks RiM!

Angie said...

<<--loves cream o'recipes!

Robin in Montana said...

I meant to clarify - the original recipe called for cream of chicken. But I am squicky about worrying about chicken bits and bones and what-have-you, so I switched to cream or mushroom and added chicken bouillon. You do not have to be anal and squicky like me.

Deb said...

Where is AP today?

Robin in Montana said...

Where is everyone today???

I am here, but Kelly is home sick, and turns out I'm far more productive when someone is around to see what I'm actually up to all day. :-D

twirldawg said...

We went to the pool earlier. Richard walk right into the pool and then got scared when he couldn't touch the bottom. He wanted to sit on the edge until about the last hour when he finally got used to it. Now he's napping and I'm on the back deck reading.

Margo said...

I have a 1970 "cooking with soup" recipe book at home. I'll have to look through it and see if there's anything good. It's definetly not Supper Club fare! My fav soup recipe is rice with cream of chicken soup and chicken breasts on top. I'm a simple cook fo sho.

Robin in Montana said...

I have a recipe somewhere that's got cream o something soup, asparagus, water chestnuts and chopped up chicken and you serve over rice. So good.

Lisa said...

I'm here. Feeling icky-ish and had eye doctor appointments for us today (not my mom). Fun times when you just want to take Advil and sleep. I have to go see a different one on July 1st. More fun times.

I think Robin got the closest to remembering the Silva's recipe since I remember wondering why it didn't just all fall apart once out of the tins. I remember her saying the bread part went up the sides. A whole biscuit seems like a lot in a muffin tin, though. Hmmm.

I've made the TYP enchiladas (still laughing at you calling T. white trash, Robin) and they were *okay. I wasn't the biggest fan but they were good. It's a perfect dish for really picky kids or adults, though, since it's very light colored and soft and it seems like most picky eaters will eat mushy white stuff.

Robin in Montana said...

AP - I am sorry you're feeling punk. :(

I remember that you were not as crazy about those enchiladas as everyone else was at the time.

I need inspiration for dinner, btw. Help?

Lisa said...

Robin, my issue with the enchiladas was visual and textural. The taste was very good but a pile of soft, mushy white on my plate just put me off a bit. Weirdness on my part, nothing more.

I'm making chicken fried cubed pork steaks smothered in gravy and mashed potatoes, which, while soft and white, never put me off. ;-) Oh, and Brussels sprouts. Does that help?

Angie said...

Margaret, I love chicken and rice made that way. So much. I want some now. But it's Meatless Monday and I'll be having a big meatless salad for dinner. Joy.

Robin, I hear ya on being more productive when people are "watching." If I'd leave my door open at work, I could be driving a Mercedes now instead of a Ford Taurus. :-)

Robin in Montana said...

AP - I understand. I think I add a lot more chile powder and twice the green chiles that her recipe had, so it's not as "white." If that makes sense. Plus the cheddar on top and green onions and olives might have been my idea, not hers. I forget. I love mashed potatoes and gravy, and I have never, ever been put off by the taste or texture of it, but a trip to the lake with the kids yesterday and a glimpse of myself in shorts makes me worry about that choice ... lol.

SW -- I cackled at the new Mercedes comment.

twirldawg said...

AP I do recall your fondness for mashed potatoes.

We are having chicken sandwiches for dinner. I know so creative and inspired. How do I do it?

Lisa said...

Jill, it's because you're awesome! ;-)

Robin, the recipe I had for the TYP enchiladas did not call for all the additional stuff, although I did still add a bunch of extra canned green chiles, too. I'm thinking I might like black beans in it.

By the way, did your pee chute get better?

Lisa said...

It's because I said "pee chute", isn't it?

Sandy said...

I almost peed my shorts with "pee chute". LOL

Really busy today with the kids and house stuff. Off to read a book. First one in years! Happy Girl I am.

PJ said...

Hi Sandy,

Lisa said...

"Really busy today with the kids and house stuff. Off to read a book. First one in years! Happy Girl I am."

Oh, that's exciting! Whatcha reading? Am curious what you picked to be your first. I just finished Jodi Picoult's "Salem Falls". It was ehhh. Predictable, but fine for a fast, mindless read. I'm getting ready to start "Robin and Ruby" tonight...I have high hopes. We shall see. http://www.amazon.com/Robin-Ruby-K-M-Soehnlein/dp/0758232187

CK, no Cheetos is a near-crime. It's inexcusable. And I see someone's martini is kiCKing in. :-D

Lisa said...

Had a huge fight over the phone with my mom an hour or so ago. *sighs* Worst one we've had in many years and it was over the Helen Thomas incident of all the damn things. She hung up on me hard. My mom, not Helen. It sucks when your parents get old...now I'm all scared she'll die tonight and I'll spend the rest of my life feeling awful. I want to call her and tel her I love her but she'll take that to mean I think I'm wrong. I hate interpersonal relationships.

Lisa said...

And I killed it again.

Goodnight, all. Am leaving this post up since the babies are adorable and comment count is so low. Have a great Tuesday!

Deb said...

Good morning!

AP - I think it's hard to say you killed it at 12:45 am - I think we were mostly already sleeping! Sorry about the fight w/your mom. I'm sure clearer minds will prevail in the morning (I hope, anyway) and that it's opinion, not anything to continue being angry at one another for.

When does she have her eye surgery?

*Gorgeous day again here today!

PJ said...

AP - sorry about the row with your mom. Like Deb said, sleep and a new day sometimes soothes things. Hope that's the case today.

Deb said...

Aw, I just had a great laugh with my grandma. Her birthday is today and she is 87. She likes to play lottery numbers, so we both agreed to play 087 and 608 today to see if we win, and then we won't tell anyone if we do!

It's kind of an inside joke in that she is living w/her son now, and so much goes on in their house but they do not tell her *anything that is really going on (they fight constantly, stuff w/their kids, etc). She is going to leaving there to live w/my mom in a few weeks for the summer, and grandmom cannot wait!

Lisa said...

Good morning, everyone. And I'll call my mom in a bit. The fight was mostly all on her side and over a political thing, to beat all. I wasn't mad until she told me I was stupid and then more mad when she hung up on me. She may have had an apoplectic fit, however. Her surgery should be scheduled today...we think they accidentally misplaced her file (from what we can find out), causing her to never make a surgical schedule.

Deb, I'm glad you get another pretty day! We're supposed to push 100 and be bright, but they claim it'll be a tad less humid. Anyone want to trade?

Ooooh, did y'all hear that Joran Van der Sloot pled guilty to murdering the Peruvian girl? He says (which doesn't mean it's true) that he became enranged after finding her on his laptop, googling his name. He didn't like the invasion of his privacy. His ass will die in that prison.

Lisa said...

Awww, happy birthday to your grandma, Deb, and I hope you two strike it big! Can she not live with your mom all the time?

Deb said...

AP - I'm sure your mom would appreciate you calling her. I'm betting she didn't feel that great about the fight either.

I did hear about Van der Sloot - he is a pompous ass and should spend the rest of his life in jail. Hopefully, he will finally confess his role in the Natalie Holloway killing as well, he's really got nothing to lose right now, being in a foreign jail.

We are on a great run of weather AP, no a/c and cool breezes at night. That will all end this weekend when we get back up in the 90's with humidity again.

Deb said...

Oh well, I just read that there is no death sentence or life sentences in Peru. Bummer.

Anonymous said...

Hi everyone!

Mulie & Taiya - Muliette and Eeq are gorgeous!

Shannon - Good luck on your finals!

AP - I'm sorry about the fight with your mom.
I hope you're feeling better today, too!

Deb - Happy Birthday to your grandma!

Robin in Montana said...

Good morning all!

AP - Sorry about your fight with your mom. You two will work it out, though, and the upside is you'll get some meat out of the deal. ;-)

My pee chute is fine.

Happy birthday to Deb's grandma, and Shannon, I know you will do just great!

Deb - there is no life sentence, but that kid in that Peruvian jail the way they've described it? They are saying he may get as little as 15 years now that he's confessed, but 15 years in that place for a privileged snot-nose who is used to getting his way and everything 'fixed' for him is probably as good as a life sentence. I suppose he could make it out alive, but I'd be surprised. I don't know if they take the savagness of the crime into account at sentencing, but it was, by all accounts, incredibly gruesome.

And one last wonder of the day -- why on earth would Sandra Bullock do that stupid-ass, lame, staged kiss thing with Scarlett Johanssen? Just dumb. She's too classy for that kind of stupid hijinks.

Deb said...

Thanks Corinne and AP - my grandma is a piece of work, in a good way. Her mind is sharp as a tack and her hearing is superior.

However, she is legally blind and is overweight so she doesn't really get around much because she is afraid of falling. Which is why they moved her out of her city row home (that, and her safety in a declining neighborhood). My mom and her brother agreed to take care of her, each gets her every 3 months so it gives the other a break (and her).

She favors my mom's because she can sit outside in the summer, I am there a lot with the girls and she loves seeing them. She never sees her other great-grandchildren, because my cousin just doesn't take the time.

They agreed to this instead of asst. living, and I guess it will continue unless something happens where my mom or her brother can't do it themselves anymore.

Margo said...

Good morning pot heads. Sorry about the fight over Helen - Dear Helen, what were you thinking?

BEAUTIFUL day here - spring like - LOVE IT!!!

Sandy said...

Morning Ladies,

AP sorry about the fight with your mom.

I'm reading "The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks. So far it's a fast read which is what I normally like.

Deb said...

Good morning Sandy & Margaret

Margaret - isn't this weather just the best!

Margo said...

I love this weather - I'd kill to live in a place that was like this all year (little colder in winter, warmer in summer).

I picked my mom up from the airport this morning. Being in an airport gives me mad travel fever!

Deb said...

You too Margaret? I am always wanting to go somewhere, even for a couple of days, or even a day. I work near the airport (like, at the end of the runway) and when they take off over us, I just wonder where they are going.

Anonymous said...

Hi Margaret!
Personally I'd love to live in a place where it's around 75 all year long and sunny. I used to think Winter was my favorite season but not anymore! ;-)
Did your mom enjoy flying?

Deb - It sounds like a good arrangement for your grandmother :) I'm sorry she's blind though, that sucks.

Robin in Montana said...

Corinne - Ventura, CA! :)

Anonymous said...

RiM - Oh yes, Ventura or anywhere in SoCal. It would be THE dream!

I meant to tell you, I watched this episode of The Big Bang Theory where Sheldon and Leonard get robbed so Sheldon decides to move to a "safer" place and settles on Bozeman, Montana. That made me think of you ;-)

Robin in Montana said...

Corinne - LOL! I love Bozeman.

Muliebrity said...

Good morning! I actually feel fairly regular today (percoset helps), except that all the skin from my belly button down is sagging to my knees. It is so gross feeling. Taking baby for her final bili blood test here in a minute and will attempt to drive. The hosp is only a few blocks away, so I should be good. I hope I kicked the killer headache I had yesterday and can resume my online antics.

Thanks for all the lovely words about baby M! You can tell the Mole that one of the nurses makes those obnoxious flowers! Isn't it a hoot? She showed me how to make them, so I expect she will be wearing many a flower.

Deb said...

Hey Mulie! Glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. Those little ones don't let you take all the time you want though, that's for sure! I hope the bili test is okay.

Corinne - I would vote Manhatten Beach, CA. We were there for a couple of days, and I just didn't want to leave!

Robin in Montana said...

Hi Mulie! Hope you are on the mend!

Margo said...

Hi Mulie - welcome back!

Yes, my mom had a great trip. She's flown a lot, just never alone. She fell in love with moose meat in Maine. I don't think they carry that at Safeway...

Deb said...

Moose meat? No, not thinking Safeway has that, although they have started carrying Bison.

Margo said...

Balducci's has buffalo but I'm not sure about moose. I'm a chicken, beef, shrimp and tuna (canned) only kind of girl. No strange meats!

Robin in Montana said...

We once bought an entire buffalo. That is a LOT of meat. Very, very good, and not different (IMO) than beef in terms of taste.

I've never had moose, but have had deer and antelope and elk.

Deb said...

As I get older, I try to try new things. As long as I know what it is, and it isn't squid, insects, or anything really bizzaro.

Robin in Montana said...

No calamari for you? More for me then! :-)

Anonymous said...

Deb - I looked up Manhattan beach. Yes, that's a place where I could see myself living ;-)
So, so far I have Laguna beach, Ventura, Santa Barbara and Manhattan beach on my list ;-D

I'm not a very daring eater - actually, I'm quite picky - but I love squid. I tasted kangaroo once but it broke my heart to eat kangaroo. Why? I don't know :-D
My father says crocodile meat is good. Then again, he will eat brain, liver, kidneys & tongue. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

Deb said...

RiM - the calamari is allllll yours!

Corinne - Manhattan Beach just had a feel, like chic casual or something! Little coffee shops, cool restaurants, houses on hills, beautiful!

Deb said...

So, I just saw that Seinfeld reruns have made $2.7B dollars, yes that's BILLION.

Margo said...

I LOVE Santa Barbara Corinne - I love being between the ocean and the mountains. The mission church there is really beautiful. Oh, I've got the fever to wander!

Margo said...

That's a lot of money for a show about nothing - but a show I love all the same. So many people speak the language of Seinfeld.

Anonymous said...

Deb - I *love that kind of feel. It sounds similar to the feeling you get when you're in Laguna Beach. Casual chic & artsy actually describes that pretty well. It must be what heaven looks like :)

Margaret - Santa Barbara is beautiful, isn't it?

Anonymous said...

Deb - That is a *lot, a *lot of money. Wow.

Lisa said...

"My father says crocodile meat is good. Then again, he will eat brain, liver, kidneys & tongue. Yuck, yuck, yuck."

I'd get along fine with your dad *nods*

Called my mom...it was strained and she's still on the warpath but it'll pass, I think. Man, they get grouchy when they get old.

Margo said...

I wonder what Arse is telling her friends on her blog :) Does she have a date for surgery?

Robin in Montana said...

"Man, they get grouchy when they get old."

::avoids eye contact and clears throat:::

Deb said...

LOL RiM!

Deb said...

AP - Lauren dropped your seed mail into the mailbox after school today - it's on the way! Sorry things are still strained with Miss Arse, Maybe the stress of the surgery not happening is contributing to her mood.

Lisa said...

You know, Robin, that was mean...lol.

Margaret, no blog for her, just a political chat she's gone to for years. I'm sure they know alll about it by now, someone has defended me and she's already called them an asshole. As for this morning, she's still not scheduled for surgery, though.

Deb, thanks so much! I've got yours and Margaret's mail ready to go out tomorrow.

Margo said...

Sorry to hear no surgery schedule yet.

KaytieJ said...

AP had a block party and I missed it :-(
Ms. Arse is on the political warpath? ruh roh.

Mulie - Happy to hear you are on the mend and good to see you!

KaytieJ said...

Mulie - Pannus is the flap you were describing. Yours will bounce back. You are an orchid!

Shannon said...

OH it is a FABULOUS day!!!!

Math final done....I think I did ok and took pretty much all the time I had available to be able to give attention to each question and look up examples and rules and such.

AP sorry about your fight with your mom....they do get stubborn when they get old.

I get to schedule Mikala's surgery this week hopefully. My mom has agreed to do the care credit so that we dont have to worry about the cash up front which is a HUGE load off and that way Mikala can make the payments to her grandmother. I am excited for her but scared at the same time.

The suck ass part is that we have to work to get the house as pet free as possible....mostly her room where we are going to lock her up so that she is a little safer. Helen asked her mom if she could stay there while she is healing and it was a no. Actually it was a "I really cant take on any extra stress right now." Really? The woman lives alone in her house that is completely paid off we just were looking for a house that is pet free so that Mikala doesnt have to worry about infection from animal germs and hair. Oh well we will make due since we have to.

Shannon said...

And I killed it this time around :)

Lisa said...

Hey, Shannon, congrats on the final! I hope everything goes well with Mikala's surgery.

Mulie is an orchid. *giggles*
Hi, Kaytie!

Just heard on Jane Velez-Mitchell (can't stand her and her annoying "war on women", btw, and yet listen to her every damn night) that before going to Peru, Joran van der Sloot spent 2-3 days in Colombia and during that time frame, 2 girls went missing from casinos. Colombian authorities are on their way to Peru to question him. I smell a serial killer.

Shannon said...

OH I so hope that scum bag gets his balls nailed to the wall. And after all why wouldnt he become a serial killer seeing as how he has it in his mind that he cant be caught or get into trouble for it and that is part of what they love the most.

Lisa said...

Shannon, yep. I've thought all along he probably left a trail through Thailand and the other Asian countries he was in. So many of those women could go missing and never even be reported gone.

Sandy said...

van der Scum needs each and every one of his nad hairs pulled out one by one and that's being nice! Bastard would probably enjoy it.

Punk little asshole is what he is and whatever they do to him in jail?...he deserves more.

::hoping off soapbox::

Sandy said...

That would be "hopping off soapbox". I'm in an extremely pissy mood.

Lisa said...

Sandy, what's got you pissy?

Sandy said...

Life in general if you know what I mean. It just sucks that we all can't be open and honest here or on our "personal blogs".

Lisa said...

Ahhh, I see and I'm sorry. I'm sorry you don't feel okay talking about it, too.

Sandy said...

Really I have no problem talking about it. My husband is an asshole. He treats me and the kids like shit. It's all about him and screw the rest of us. He has run us into the poor house and sees nothing wrong with it. Credit cards are free right!

The kids are excited to see him when he gets home. He treats them like crap. There is nothing but him yelling at poor B to shut up from the time he gets home to the time B goes to bed. That little boy worships the ground that fat man walks on.

Sandy said...

And I'm pretty sure his girlfriend is back.

Lisa said...

Sandy, I'm not going to wish bad things on that asshole but should they just happen to occur, I won't be a bit sorry. I might even cheer. Yeah, pretty sure I'll cheer. {{{Sandy}}}

PJ said...

Sandy - that sucks.

Ever have moments in your life where you wished really hard for something good to happen and all you wind up with is another pile of shit...that's where I'm at right now.

I just feel like I'm swimming towards the shore as hard as I can but the tide is just pushing me out further and further.

Tomorrow is another day right?

PJ said...

My turn to pass you a martini and cheetos, Sandy.

Deb said...

Sweet Tea Vodka? I'm quite sure that would land me right on my ass!

Sandy said...

Woo Hoo lawn chair time.

PJ said...

Anybody need a refill?

Sandy said...

Yep! What are we having tonight?

Sandy said...

I have BBQ chips if anyone is interested.

PJ said...

AP's pouring sweet tea vodka. I've got my usual foo-foo martinis (2 parts cranberry juice, 1 part citrus vodka - shake shake shake shake for a really long time. Top with a generous splash of cheap champagne)

I am waiting on the grill rack in there so that I can start up our dinner...we are having chicken breasts with a new seasoning on it and I am so stinking famished I am ready to pull the rack out before it is even done.

Sandy I hate that you have to live with this douche bag. I wont even call him your husband because he is nothing that a husband should be he is your asshole roommate at this point.

Shannon said...

CK that does sound like a foo foo drink right there. I think it is the splash of champagne that does it.

Sandy said...

Shannon, CK makes the *best foo foo drinks! ::nods:: And I agree.

PJ said...

Mole is home - and is making more drinks.

Shannon - nice to hear your test is over. Are you taking the summer off?

Shannon said...

I have decided that I am going to take the summer off. I am starting to get burnt out and with all that is happening this summer I think that it is going to be better in the long run if I just focus on that.

Ho ladies.
I am fighting the beast of all sadness and down down down, so down-ness today. I don't want to sour the mood with my bitching and moaning, so I just want to take a minute to add my voice to the chorus of admirerers of our new baby Daisies. Muliette is stunning. Perfect, delicate features. And Eeq? Those cheeks and that button nose gave me a moment of delight in an otherwise craptastic day. What lovely little angel girls, and how lucky are we that we will get to watch them grow and change and add hope, promise, and possibility to every single day. Yay, babies.

Sandy said...

Shannon, I think you are smart for taking the summer off. I know I would.

PJ said...

It sounds like the break will be good for you. You've been working pretty hard at school.

Lisa said...

Deb, you're right about the sweet tea vodka. On your ass. It has next to no taste of alcohol...it's just a slightly thick, sweet tea taste. It's so good mixed with regular tea or with lemonade!

Shannon, what kind of new seasoning did you try?

Lisa said...

Awww, Elisabeth, I'm sorry it's such a down day. Can we help?

Shannon said...

See AP I dont know what it is because the butcher put it on for us to try. They sell it right there at the butcher block and since I already know I will be buying some I will be sure to let ya know after :)

I really have been putting a lot of time and effort into school and I think that taking a term off right now will be the best plan. After all after Mikala has her surgery she will need someone to take care of her for a month, kinda hard to help her out when she is really hurting and I am in my room doing homework.

Martinis for all.

Oh yum!

Shannon, I'm a seasoning whore so let me know what it is.

CK is such a girly-girl when it comes to her drinks. ;-)

rum and coke over here.

We were having a good day but it went south quickly.

Richard had his tube removed (the other one fell out). He has swollen tonsils but it might just be from a cold. Hopefully we will never have to go to the ENT again.

So that was the good stuff. Then I get home and find out that the job that my husband was supposed to start isn't going to happen. They ran out of trucks (I don't get it either). He had already quit his other job too. Ugh, so now he has to see if he can get his old job back.

PJ said...

Jill - that stinks.

Lisa said...

Oh, my God, Jill, that's so scary. :-( Keep drinking rum and I'll cross things up for you that his old job will take him back.

Sandy said...

Oh Jill, that's stinks. Keeping fingers crossed.

Shannon said...

Jill that sucks ass big time. Hopefully he can get his other job back without any hassles.

AP I am the same way.....nothing better then delish flavor.

For all the gardeners, check this place I just found on eBay! Look at the variety of seeds and the prices...shipping is cheap, too. I'm in trouble.

So we got some interesting news not too long ago. One of our uncles was doing work at his boss' father's house.....the boss has the guys do this alot. Well they were doing work on the roof and while my uncle was holding the wood on the roof the other guy was inside drilling into it....yeah he got his hand drilled. Thankfully it was only through the meat, somehow, at his thumb and missed everything important. Not so thankfully the doctor he went to see only put iodine on it...didnt irrigate it, no antibiotics (and this drill was covered in sheep shit). So 2 days later he ends up in the ER and got to have a 2 day stay to take care of the blood infection he got from it.

His boss isnt going to pay for anything even though he is getting WC. Seriously I am telling them to file malpractice on that doctor who did nothing to prevent this from happening. He could have died if it werent for my aunt insisting that there was something seriously wrong.

PJ said...

That's crazy, Shannon. Thank goodness your aunt was persistent.

Lisa said...

Shannon, I agree about malpractice - I'd look into that if I were him. Even I'd have known to irrigate that, and given him antibiotics if he wanted them. Probably a tetanus shot, too. So, the uncle is getting money from WC? If so, that's why his boss isn't paying anything to him, as well. But shoot, what an awful thing to have happen.

Shannon said...

Yeah he thought he was coming down with the flu and wasnt that worried...apparently she checked him out and discovered there was something to really be worried about and made him go in.

Shannon said...

I know when I heard that was the first thing I asked.....didnt the doc give him antibiotics and irrigate it? When I heard the answer was no I was ticked. I mean it didnt even break the skin other then where it went in...the first thing a doctor should do is irrigate the hell out of it. Mikala busted her chin open when she was little and they did it for that and it was a lot less likely to have anything ugly in it.

Sandy said...

That's stinks Shannon.

twirldawg said...

Sandy and Elisabeth I'm sorry you guys are having sucky days too :(

Shannon that is just crazy. Doctors scare me sometimes because of mistakes like these.

Shannon said...

I think that this may be stinky Tuesday :)

Sandy said...

I think you're right Shannon.

Shannon said...

So I have decided that I must buy this seasoning....it is good but it would have been much better if they would have put more of it on the meat.

PJ said...

Night lady friends. Two more days with kids, and one work day.

Shannon said...

Night CK enjoy the last two days with the young skulls full of mush

Sandy said...

My niece asked if she could stay with us the whole Summer a couple months a go to help with the baby, well, she's probably leaving this weekend. I am going to die.

Sandy said...

Oh no Mulie, what happened?

AP......no, it's just "crap". The grocery cards didn't work, which I only found out when I had a cart *full of groceries and of course a line of increasingly irate shoppers behind me. The manager at HEB took me aside to the courtesy booth and messed with the cards......he said the activation/conformation numbers were not coming up. He suggested the cards MAY have been demagnetized during the USPS shipping process, during some of the scanning that packages go thru to make sure they aren't explosives and stuff. He said we could fix it with the receipt or even a copy of the receipt.....but of course they were sent by "friend in Kansas"..... (if you are here? I'm SO SO SORRY, I hate feeling like I am complaining about something you tried to do that is so wonderful) so I have no idea who to go to about the receipt.

Then we found out today that rather than the lump sum payment we were expecting for Chris' SSDI, they will not be giving him that but instead will be adding it to the monthly payment in small amounts, for the first 2 years. We can't believe they are even allowed to do that but apparently they are.

We were *so counting on that lump sum check to not only catch him up with bills, but to repay some of the money my parents have spent on rehab, therapy, meds, ect. They were told they had to pay 3 mortgage payments by July 9th, so that lump sum (which was to arrive the first week of July) was literally going to save my parents home. And there was still going to be almost $4500 left for Chris' bills to be caught up.

Geez I hate to *always seem to be bitching about money but crap's sake, this is killing us. We also found out yesterday for sure that Chris is considered too "high functioning" for adult day care. And the waitling list for the residential facility is 15 months.

I just would really like to feel like we are catching one tiny break, rather than constantly feeling like the walls are about to close in.

Lisa said...

Lord, Elizabeth, that's a lot all at once. First, the cards...I haven't looked but post about the problem on Chris' blog, too, if you haven't and ask people to spread the word so that hopefully "friend in Kansas" gets the word and can help fix this. I can't imagine that they want the money they spent to be wasted, either.

As for the SSDI, who told you there would be a lump sum payment? Maybe that person can contact someone and have something changed? Shot in the dark, I know, but it might not hurt.

Now, for Chris. Does he live in a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment? If it's 2, perhaps he can find a room mate willing to be his "helper" in return for free rent?

Lastly, it never hurts to contact your elected representatives and plead for help. Force *them to tell you no. Sometimes they can pull some strings to avoid having to do that.

I'm just so sorry.

And hold off on new comments for 5 minutes or so...a new post will be going up.
