A change of plans

So the last few weeks or so have been pretty hard on everyone and rather trying of some where patience is concerned. To save the patience of one and to keep this place up and running I am taking OVER and OD may never be the same again *insert evil laugh here.

This place was started as a haven for those who had been brought together by different things, mostly due to a site that lead to the questioning of another blogger who in her own words claims professional blogger and at times famous as well. Well that place went with the wind, other places started up and then went with the wind again. This site is NOT a hate site, never has been. It is much more like a group of women sitting around enjoying their coffee (read Schlitz) and bullshitting about life and those we encounter in it.

There are no laws that say we have to like everyone and there are no laws that say everyone has to like us but I for one am sick and fricking tired of having to hide or watch what I say just in case big sister is watching and decides to poke  her ugly head up. People can only have as much power as you allow them to have and I am taking it back...they dont get to have any power from me.

We are still going to  have the same "rules" and guidelines and you know what a good debate is all about a good debate and diapers and are still shitty :) Life goes on and allowing fear of bullies to control your life only gives the bullies more power and I for one think they have taken enough from the ladies that frequent this site so if you are willing or want to we will stick around and keep up the Daisy way of life!!!!!

Your humble new Daisy host,
Shannon

Hi all! Don't know if any of you remember me from OHIH/SIP... I pretty much disappeared from the internet for a while with tech issues, etc., but I tracked you all down! Muahahahaha! OK, really, I have checked in once or twice, but haven't had time to post or really keep up. Just thought I'd check in, though, and say hi! I'll try to keep up, but if you're all as chatty as I remember... well, I'll try! :)

Ugh this oil spill stuff just makes me sick.

Ami I remember you! I was just reading your beach blog entry earlier. Your little girl has gotten so big.

Oh AP you need to tend to your 'taters.

I spent an hour chasing my child. He was put to bed but kept getting out. He figured out how to open doors.

Muliebrity said...

Jill, We had to turn the door handle around on my son's room for that very reason!

Mulie - Your pics are fabulous! She is adorable!

Saw the post about the change in plans, thought I'd stop in and add my thanks to Shannon and AP for not shutting Daisy down. I never post as much as I should, but I take comfort in knowing y'all are here! Sorry about the drama, some just don't know when to give it up I guess? But so glad *here* is still here! =)

"Cause if it is, then KaytieJ took advantage of my innocence and lead me down a dirty path."

She did this to me close to 13 years ago. It's a wonder I'm still allowed to associate with decent folks.

"OK AP - you were gone from here for 1 1/2 hours and your explanation when you get back on is that "I'm back now, I had to pee"?"

Oh, you dirty minded thing. I went to nap but part way through, I was cold and I had to pee, so I got up and in passing the computer, I was sucked back in. That's all. I swear! A-hem.

Jeanette, thank you! I'm a dumbass and didn't even think of buying Dawn but need dish soap and will do exactly that. Bella, I think we're seeing another example of our government controlling the media. We all know it happens and it's definitely not in the government's best interest for this to be covered any more than it has to be, you know? I can hardly bear to look at those animals. It makes me heart feel all twisty. :-(

Lisa said...

Oh, Mulie, she's *so pretty and she looks like you!

Ami, of course I remember you - hi to you and Heather. Awww, this is nice. :-)

Lisa said...

Jill, I totally forgot about those taters, thanks.

In the interest of oversharing, I've been smelling something bad in the house all day. I washed all the scatter rugs, cleaned, checked for veggies gone bad in the fridge, etc. It just now dawned on me it's my feet. Crocs and extreme heat? Not a good thing.

Just reading a few older posts. AP, I second the Everglades seasoning! We use that on everything. Not sure they have it anywhere else but Florida? Maybe everyone else uses Lawry's seasoned salt? But so different in taste!

Lisa said...

I think I saw it's in other states now, but pretty much the southeast, Heather. Nothing is quite like Everglades, though, it's true. I like that while it's got salt in it, it's not too salty so you can pile it on without it being too much. I rarely buy anything by way of a seasoned salt but for bacon salt, adobo and Everglades.

KaytieJ said...

AP - No Everglade seasoning here. Heather, I will be looking online for it. We use Pappy's seasonings here on our black angus beef.

Ummm...AP...I am so flattered and give a curtsy (now stop that chortling, I can still do a decent curtsy, even if I do it I Love Lucy style), but it is the other way around. You seriously made me contemplate that the world was flat!

Lisa said...

Kaytie, if I did that, I was seriously fucking with you and I'm sorry. I'm also proud of myself, but I'm sorry.

Never heard of Pappy's...huh. I googled it and it said I won't be happy until I've had Pappy's. Who knew? We should make a trade.

KaytieJ said...

Robin and CK - I watched SYTYCD - love that show, but miss a lot of that because of my work schedule. Dancers were OK. I loved Usher though. And that song "OMG" is right up my ally :-D
The video with Justin Bieber? Yuck. Usher was so-so, but having a young teen singing those lyrics made me gag. Good dance moves, though.

KaytieJ said...

AP Costco stocks Pappys here and dh loves it. Lots of paprika. I would do my own mix of seasonings but dh is adamant @@ It has too much salt for me, but I will be happy send you some, if interested. If I can not find Everglades online, I would love some!

PS - I knew you were fucking with me....Part of the fun, but being a science wannabe it sure intrigued me! And, not tooting my horn, but giving kudos to many here, there are always two-three-four sides of things. Always good to be reminded of that :-D

Lisa said...

I live to serve. ;-)

I'll also email you when I'm more alert in the morning with some other spices I think are pretty regional. You can tell me what you'd like and we'll make that trade!

Blah. It's 2am and thanks to a 9-midnight nap, I'm worn out but wide awake. I probably missed good Bravo shows, too.

KaytieJ said...

AP - I surfed Bravo while doing my toenails (salmon pink fyi) NY Housewives was on. meh. I don't think you missed much.

Lisa said...

Oh, no, I love that show (yes, I really do, but only NY and OC) and thought it was over. Oh, wait! Are you sure it wasn't Bethenny Gets Married? Which I'm still sorry I missed, if so. Ahhh, Top Chef, Work Of Art, Bethenny Gets Married? It'll be a fine Bravo summer.

And I love salmons and corals on toenails!

KaytieJ said...

Cool on the seasonings! Definitely in the morning.
BTW - AP
(damn SW-this is just not such a fun peeve announcement without your ass here)

YOU'VE GOT MAIL!

Warning: Totally unrelated to OD.

KaytieJ said...

AP-it was the last 15 minutes of the end of NY Housewives. A bunch of Sex in the City dressed wannabes sitting on couches and reviewing the year. Tears and hugs. The red haired one came off the couch and hugged the other one on the far right of the other couch. I was painting my toenails, can you tell?

Bethany gets married was on next. She was planning a wedding in 4 weeks due to being pregnant and delivering in 10 weeks? and harassing the wedding planner about not knowing what the treat was in the cotton candy is (4 Seasons hotel?)

Lisa said...

Oh, that was Jill and Bethenny. I saw that one so this had to be a repeat. I missed the newest BGM, I guess but can catch it in a rerun. This last season caused me to really like Bethenny, Alex (plus Simon)and Ramona, something I never thought would happen. I always hated Ramona but now? I like her a lot and oddly, I find myself thinking I'd like to be friends with all three (or four) and screw the rest.

Yes, I'm still up and rambling on around here. Sorry. I got up to try sleeping a bit ago and found Jake and Ginger (my most-loved old lady cat) curled up in my bed, sound asleep together. I resisted the urge to crawl in with them and pray that they both stay here with me forever since I know it won't happen and both will leave me soon.

Bah. I need to go shopping or something.

Just think, AP, that may mean you have some room in your life for luv or companionship. I am sure there will be an upside.

I missed part 3 of the NY housewives reunion - damn! I think that was my favorite Housewives. However, once the NJ season is over I'm done (said Jill Zarin style). The DC Housewives is staged so I'm sure the other ones are too.

My other Bravo fav - Flipping Out!

twirldawg said...

Wait, all this time and I didn't know there were other Housewives fans here?

I'm a little behind on the reunion shows and two episodes behind on NJ.

Robin in Montana said...

I love Housewives NY and OC, but not really any of the rest of them.

Muliebrity said...

I cancelled the package with Bravo, but I am a huge fan of the Housewives. I caught up with NY while in the hospital (one good thing about spending 6 days there) and I am so mad at Jill! She was so unlikeable this last season.

Robin in Montana said...

I would die without Bravo. Totally die. lol

Who mentioned Flipping Out? Margaret? One of my all time favorite shows -- I <3 Jeff Lewis and his crazy ways.

Housewife confessions:

Loved OC - stopped loving it a little when Tamra came on, stopped loving it a lot when Jeana left.

Atlanta - boring

NY - my FAV but I'm done. This season was nasty - you can have disagreements/drama but when people get nasty - eh.

NJ - it was fun for a while but there's nothing left but the ham game. Dina's gone, Danielle is soon to be back on the stripper pole, Teresa and her beauhunk are broke. What's left but Kim G creating drama and running back and forth between the two camps.

Margo said...

I heart Jeff Lewis and his 25%, 15%, 40% drinks - and the fact that he knows when the 25% and 15% were switched.

Shannon said...

Morning ladies.....Let me just say that I am not sure how it happened but I love Housewives of NY. I have watched a little bit of NJ but nothing like NY. Can I just say that most of this season I wanted to give Kelly a reality check and a brain, I wanted to give Jill a punch in the face, and I really wanted to teach Luann how to butt the hell out!!!! Honestly how did Jill leave the season with anyone being her friend? I mean she told everyone she was done with them except Luann and Kelly.

Robin in Montana said...

Oh, God. I forgot his drinks. I love that he knows he's a total lunatic, can't really control it, but sees a certain amount of humor in it even himself. I hated how genuinely hurt he got over Ryan acting the way he did last season. :(

Margo said...

Shannon, dahhhling - Luann is all knowing. I'm sad we didn't see more of Simon this season - he is hysterical.

Margo said...

I think the Jeff Ryan thing has more to do with Jeff still having mad feelings for Ryan and imagining himself as Mr. or Mrs. Ryan with the child. I don't think that was really all about business deals.

Robin in Montana said...

Margaret - oh, I definitely think his hurt feelings were emotionally based on his feelings about Ryan, and not about business, yes.

Robin in Montana said...

I would think maybe the closeness and constant contact and interaaction and such between Jeff and Ryan irritated the current Mrs. Ryan and he pushed Ryan to distance himself a bit? Who knows? I obviously have way too much time on my hands.

Totally aside, but as I was typing that I was thinking of Jeff and the homeless person in the courtyard thing he was redoing and how he moved her and then she died??? Loved that episode(s).

<---sick freak.

Shannon said...

Simon is a hoot....I just love him for some reason....What about that dude that Luann was seeing, Court? I am sorry but that dude creeped me out...it was the shit he did with his mouth that just grossed me out big time and the way he laughed....he screamed pervert at me big time.

Robin in Montana said...

Shannon - He was so, so, *so gross. His mouth, yes. ::shudder::: I guess I'd never make a gold-digger because there are many things, like having that mouth anywhere near me, that no amount of money could coerce me to do.

Oopsie Daisy said...

***Hey I went ahead and made a new post...but you will see it goes with the current convo :)***

Lisa said...

"Just think, AP, that may mean you have some room in your life for luv or companionship. I am sure there will be an upside."

Oh, Lord, Mulie, that's the last thing I have any interest in doing. I have room now, if I wanted that. I could possibly make an exception for Jeff Lewis, though. I'
m almost scared to admit this, but he reminds me uncomfortably of me, yet there's a comfort factor in that. <--another Flipping out fan here

I went for detesting Simon and Alex to really, really liking them a lot and I'm not sure why. Maybe because they just seem genuinely nice and it stood out this season? Jill was horrible. Luann makes me want to do mean things to her. That song? Oh, my God.

And good morning!
