An example of lies to gain the Presidency

Now to be fair I would love to find something like this with others we have had that either ran or became President.

Lisa,

Thanks for posting the site of Cordoba group. I wasn't sure if it was okay to post it.

So sorry that your ex is such a slime.

Mulie, undead. living dead. oh hell anything works as long as there is no killing.

E and K I will tell ya upfront....around her you can feel free posting things like that. I mean honestly if it isnt going to be something offensive or horrible like porn or something please feel free :)

Bellismom it is good to see you....I take it you like the video?

Jeanette said...

Lisa, you've never been bowling? I'm sure you could still beat me, my highest score is like 68, haha. If Jake is still moving to Ohio, when you come visit him I'm taking you bowling!

EandK said...

Shannon,
Thanks. I just wasn't sure and the topic was getting hot anyway. Love the conversation. Love the friendly jabs too.

Shannon said...

And I am sorry for those who like Bush....or to those :)

I wouldnt make so much fun of him if he didnt make it so damn easy.

Jeanette said...

Haha, just watched the video Shannon. He does make it easy doesn't he? My fave Bush clip of all time would be when he got the shoe thrown at him. You just can't script stuff like that!

Shannon said...

Jeanette you just cant.

It has always been easy and I still sometimes wonder how he managed to win two elections because I am sorry he was a dufus.

Lisa aka AP said...

Whooo, new post! Thanks, Shannon, and isn't it sad that Obama is now making George look...well...not so bad? Yes, indeed, I fucked up with that particular vote.

EandK, I thought the Corboda site had a lot of good information on it and enough information to also let people do further searching on their own in order to allay any fears they may have.

"Thanks Lisa!!!"

Not a problem, Christy. ;-)

Lisa aka AP said...

Hi, Bellismom and welcome!

Jeanette, I've been bowling, I've just never bowled. I sat there and was bored. Plus, I am *not wearing those shoes.

Lisa aka AP said...

ROFL...I so misread this: "Jeanette you just cant." to be "Jeanette you just a c**t".

I hate that word.

Shannon said...

LISA!!!! I did not call her a CANT!!!!

Geesh you pot stirrer LOL

Lisa aka AP said...

I know you didn't! I misread it. I also got worried I missed something exciting in the last post...lol!

We went to the State Fair for the 5th time today, and mu husband was finally able to come with us. I swear it was more work with him along then it was when it was just me and the 3 littles.

Jeanette said...

LMAO! Yeah, I would have been thinking I missed something too!

Okay, scrap the bowling, I'll let you cook for me instead ;)

Mulie it's always more work when you take a man along with you!

Jeanette said...

I've got an awful case of swimmer's ear. I've tried holding my breath and plugging the nose and trying to force the air out, I've tried drops, and pounding on my head... nothing is working. Any suggestions?

Lisa aka AP said...

Jeanette, dip a q-tip in rubbing alcohol and gently insert it in your ear. It may help dry it out. And I'd be happy to cook for you!

Mulie, how's the boy's head?

Jeanette said...

I got a blog comment suggesting the alcohol Lisa. I'm going to run out in the morning and pick some up, the last of mine got used during my tattoo adventure. Thanks for the tip!

I'm *so going to hold you to the cooking :)

Lisa aka AP said...

I never went to bed. It sucks. I might kick my kid out today, I'm so goddamned pissed at him. He leaves at 11pm (we had to watch our shows first) to "hang out" at a friend's and warns me it will be late. Fine, I can deal with that. I ask him to call me if it's going to be super-late (we both know this means after 2am) and give him my cell since his is still at a friend's in Orlando. I text from online several times after 3am and finally call at 5am. Leave a message. Almost immediately I get a call back, from *my cell and from the friend whose house he was going to, saying he's asleep. So, fine, whatthefuckever, he didn't lie but I don't need to be up until 5am, worrying and wondering. I don't ask a lot here, I'm pretty damn casual about it all and ask no more than I'd ask of anyone living in my house, family or not. Soooooo, we're going to make some changes today, beginning with my attitude, since I'm exhausted and pissed off now. If he doesn't like it, he can leave. I already have a paint chip for his room, anyway.

It's 6:30am, 95% humidity and it's not about to rain. Let me tell you, that makes for some adventuresome breathing outside, even if it is a bit below 80.

Jeanette, did your tattoo heal up okay? And I'd be more than happy to cook for you.

Lisa-I'm with you re:the Jake situation. I'd hit the roof.

How about this weather. The thunder/lightning last night was nice though. I hear we're to expect more of it tonight, if that's any consolation.

Mornin' Shannon! Step off my dear ole' GW this morning though, k? :)

Just kidding. I'll love him and you can not like him and it will still be ok, right?! ;)

Margaret said...

APlug - Jake needs a good talking to. I think that's the second time he's pulled something like that recently?

Hannah's school supply list is crazy - 12 large glue sticks?

Melissa said...

Margaret-Our lists weren't that crazy-then again my son did need 6 glue sticks. I drew the line at sending four packs of paper. I held two at home in our school supply box. Son told me that they all put their supplies in a pile anyway. That drives me bananas!

Tammi said...

Jake is being very disrespectful. Randy would kick the boy's asses if they did that. We have a rule, we text or phone you I don't care if you don't answer right away, but you better get back to me in 5 mins. Otherwise MR Cool Ass Droid phone is mine. They always do. I will take away their life and they know it. Respect us, we will respect you and be cool. Fuck up? You might be allowed to eat dinner...:)

And 12 glue sticks?? sheesh!

Tammi said...

I was pleasantly surprised this year that they didn't really ask up for too much. Glue sticks, lol, tissue, white board markers. Everything else they supplied.

I think the older boys had more supplies to buy then Shane. Binders, folders, calculators, every color of pen known to man, highlighters, memory sticks, scissors, blah blah blah....

Tammi said...

up? *us...I really need to proof read..proofread? one word..two?

Shannon said...

Mornin ladies

Julie I can forgive you and even like you even if you like GW :) Seriously though I would love to do some silly stuff like this with other presidents unfortunately I dont know that anyone ever thought of doing it with others.

Lisa, Chris does this shit to me and he is only 17.....He doesnt get a cell because he is a dumbass and I am not going to pay for something that he will abuse, lose, or break with no ability to pay for.

Tammi said...

I forgot to add...sorry about that Lisa...I can't imagine how pissed, worried, etc you were. I feel stressed for you! Nothing worse then not knowing where a child might be. :(

Muliebrity said...

"Mulie, how's the boy's head?"

Aeh, he's fine. He's got an amazing drive and I am curious to see if this will be a long lasting personality trait. He can out play, walk, run any kid and probably lots of adults. We actually have to force him into the stroller and take a rest when we are out.

Margaret said...

Here's what I think is a good article re: what we discussed the other day. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/08/19/AR2010081906506.html?hpid=topnews

And, it's been a week now since Liz sent the *reimbursement e-mails. Has anyone heard from her again?

Shannon said...

Some kids are just major rough and tumble.....I know that when Chris was little he didnt slow down for a second....not until his body made him stop. You would find that boy in the middle of getting into something passed out on the floor. Once he got mobile there was no scheduled nap time, it was impossible his naps just came when he passed out.

JustPeachy2 said...

@AP

Please don't murder me, but..

I saw on your blog that Jake is 19. Has he graduated yet, and does he plan to go off to college?

My parents had similar rules while I was still in high school, but when I graduated and after I moved to college for sure, they let go a bit.

You seem like a very understanding and cool parent. Leaving the nest is a very tough change, and I think everyone goes through growing pains no matter how easy going they have been.

I would urge you to take the whole picture into consideration. He seems like a good kid who always keeps you in the loop. He definitely messed up if your arrangement is for him to text you, but it seems like an innocent mistake. He was after all, where he was supposed to be, asleep. Maybe give him a pass? Or maybe it's time to reevaluate the agreement ya'll have.

Again, this is just my small humble opinion. I realize I know nothing about you or your situation.

Muliebrity said...

"You would find that boy in the middle of getting into something passed out on the floor."

When Hunter is tired he will ask to go to bed. He is the last one up and the first one awake, and (though he is starting to drop it) he can take a three hour nap. If he thinks he's not tired, we make him go anyway and find him with the light on, passed out, surrounded by books. He is a character.

Muliebrity said...

<--- Thinks Peachy has a point.

Margaret said...

Mulie - we are going to the County Fair tonight. Hannah looks forward to it every year. Her favorite part is riding the shuttle bus - go figure :)

Tammi said...

I freaking hate hesitant drivers!! Taking the boys to school, and you always have the one driver who has to wave everyone on...then everyone tries to go...go, brake..go brake...wave, wave, wave....I want to smack them! Take your effin turn! Ok, vent over.

JustPeachy2 said...

haha, thanks Mullie! :) <3.. preparing the flame shield!

JustPeachy2 said...

Mulie**

Tammi said...

Peach...I get ya to a point...but you let it go once, and then they just keep doing it.

JustPeachy2 said...

Well, I think it comes down to trust. If you treat your kid like an adult, explain your disappointment with the mistake, but cut him some slack, he'll probably act like an adult and respect the agreement in the future. If you freak out on him for one error after honoring the agreement for so long, it may seem unwarranted and harsh and cause rebellion.

This is just my personal opinion, but if I had been doing the right thing for so long and messed up once because I fell asleep, I'd be pretty angry and hurt with a harsh reaction. I think benefit of the doubt goes a long way at that age when they are trying to figure out how to be an adult and a kid.

JustPeachy2 said...

I also think that there will come a time when he'll want more freedom and responsibility. That will either result in a new agreement or a new living situation. Neither one is a bad thing. Kids grow up.

Tammi said...

Oh absolutely! But Jake, or any of our kids for that matter, being 19 he knew better. No excuses. So treat me with respect and you will get it back. A phone call or text is not that hard to do.

JustPeachy2 said...

Doesn't respect have a lot to do with intentions? Do you think messing up one time is disrespectful? When is a mistake ok? It's not the same as repeating the behavior or disregarding the rules.

Margaret said...

I think if you live someone you should be respectful - in this case that means letting mama AP know that he's not going to be home so she can sleep and not worry. That's not such a hard rule to follow. Besides the fact that if she's tired and cranky she's liable to bust our chops about something and who needs that :)

Tammi said...

Peach...one time is different. I get the impression this has happened before. But I could be wrong.

JustPeachy2 said...

Oh, well that's true then. I got a different impression from her blog, though. I guess we'll have to see what she says :)

Tammi said...

She isn't here, so lets make up a whole bunch of shit...LOL!

Melissa said...

I disagree with Tammi and Peachy on this one. Lisa has proven herself to be a very relaxed/non militant-like-rule-having parent. From what I've gathered she has minimal rules but she expects those to be followed. She's not ruling Jake with an iron fist (if she is she's fooled me) in fact she was saying last week or the week before that he was off at some convention for a couple of days. All of this to say that I don't think that she over reacted at all.

Melissa said...

What's for lunch?

Tammi - I don't have the energy to piss AP off today - maybe tomorrow :)

Tammi said...

Melissa...I agree. I have always thought Lisa seems like a great parent! Maybe that is why when I see a kid bending a rule to a parent who is cool it peeves me even more.

Lunch? I don't know yet. Dinner...I am having a friend over and we are going to cook..something..haven't hammered it all out yet.

Jeanette said...

Lisa, the tattoo healed great, I absolutely love it! I need to have someone take a picture of it now that it's healed, it was pretty red in the one you saw from the night I had it done. Thanks for asking! And yeah, on the cooking, I'm sure I'd love absolutely anything you make, aside from beef cheek, tongue, or testicle. I'll even try your okra ;)

On the Jake subject, I agree with Tammi. If this is a one time thing then I'm sure Lisa would give him another shot. I am a worrywart of the worst kind and if my child, of any age, is living in my home, I want to know where they are when I'm ready to go to sleep. A call or text isn't asking a whole lot, especially given the amount of freedom he seems to have. I wouldn't be able to go to sleep either, not knowing whether my kid was safe or not and wondering if and when they were coming home. I don't think Lisa can be faulted for being upset.

JustPeachy2 said...

I don't think anyone is faulting her for being upset..

Jeanette said...

Oh you're right, and I guess I worded that wrong. No one said she was wrong to be upset. I should have said she has every right to be upset.

And FTR, Peachy, I agree with what you said about freaking out over a one time occurrence could lead to rebellion. The impression I got was that this wasn't the first time, though.

Jeanette said...

Melissa, your avatar makes me want cupcakes for lunch. Yum!

JustPeachy2 said...

Ah, you're probably right. I don't really know the history.

Tammi said...

Cupcakes...yummmmmm

I have gained 7 freaking lbs over the summer...too much food and alcohol. So for lunch I had a hard boiled egg. I convinced myself it was oh so delicious! lol

Lisa aka AP said...

Hi, all!

Okay, well, he came in this morning and claimed he tried to call me around 2am and got no answer, that it just rang and rang. He admitted, though, that while he planned to try again in a bit, he fell asleep. I basically called him a liar about trying to call...and then I checked the call log on my phone. He really did try to call right around 2am. I have no idea why it never rang here and I'm still pissy that instead of it worrying him that I didn't answer and neither did the machine, he went to sleep. But, in fairness, he did try to call. So, it wasn't as bad as I thought, anyway. The other incident Margaret was referring to was a week or so ago, he lost his phone while staying with friends in Orlando. He had no idea it was lost and didn't realize I was trying to get ahold of him until he was on his way home and went to call me and realized it was gone. As pissy as I am right now, still, he's typically *really great about checking in and all. And other than some drama with the now-ex-girlfriend and her family and The Great Drinking Adventure of 2007, he's really not been a problem at all or been in any trouble...lol, figured I'd clarify that.

Peach, he did graduate but he was homeschooled so there was no hoopla of any type. We both were just glad to put it all behind us, frankly. As for college, he wants to go but wants to wait a year or so, something I actually support him doing. His schooling has been a nightmare for us in many ways (not homeschooling so much as adventures in public school that caused a lot of problems) and I think he needs a break from it for awhile, too.

Just to make the day all the more fun, now Miss Arse's good eye is infected. *sighs* I hope everyone else is having a better day than I am.

JustPeachy2 said...

Ah, well I'm glad it all worked out! I'm sorry about the eye infection :/

Margaret said...

Oh, Arse :(

Melissa said...

I'm sorry to hear about Miss Arse's eye, Lisa. Will that have an effect on her upcoming surgery?

Lisa aka AP said...

Not sure...she's got an appointment back with doctor #1 who did the surgery Monday morning so he can take a look at it. Then Tues. she has a pre-op appointment with the transplant doctor. If it's the cataract on the other eye causing this, I'd assume they're going to want to remove it soon in order to avoid the clusterfuck that happened to the eye that needs the transplant. So, theoretically this could cause the transplant to be postponed, I guess. I just know that between her and me, I'm sick of eye doctors' offices.

On a better note, it smells nice in here...I have two apple-berry cobblers in the oven. :-)
Anyone up to anything interesting?

Can I say it was all very interesting to read, all sides of the discussion? Well, except for the Hamas comment :::swiping a peanut butter brownie from Tammi:::

One of the biggest chills I have ever had is when GW said, "and now we are on a Crusade against Terrorism". Even though I thought I lost my husband in the WTC on 9/11, hearing those words from our President brought further horror to me.

Elaine - I've been gone for a bit, nice to see you. I got the first batch of e-mails from scum scammer Liz. She knows full well my e-mail address - that first batch e-mail she sent was to cover her ass.

I just read that 12 of the Duggars have chicken pox.....good thing mom and tiny arent home but that is one brave daddy taking on 12 sick kids alone........it is now going to stand as proof that dads are too capable of taking care of sick ones.

Lisa aka AP said...

"Apple berry cobbler...yummmmm"

It turned out okay...good even, but not great. I totally winged it and it wound up with apples, blueberries and Craisins in it, but the apples were a breed I've never heard of - Pink Lady. They were dirt cheap at 88 cents a pound and they were not the best apples for this. Despite being cooked stovetop and in the oven for a combined hour, they are still a bit too firm and like my apples mushy in stuff like this. The topping was excellent, though. I ground pecans into a flour and used half that, half regular flour and vanilla bean instead of extract. Yummmm...

I'll say it. I like the Duggars. I think they're odd and I think it would have been far nicer to adopt some kids if you want that many but all that aside, they all seem very happy and well-adjusted. Where are Michelle and Josie? I thought Josie came home, no?

Hiya, Kaytie and Elaine...it's good to see you both back. :-)

Karen said...

Mmmm mushy apples - I want some apple crisp... I have a recipe around here somewhere, but do not have any apples! Well, I have one apple, its a granny smith - but that is being saved for lunch with peanut butter and some swiss cheese! weird, yes, but good!

12 kids with chicken pox, and the dad is the only one home? Well you know the older ones are taking care of the little ones, but yeeesh! and I like the Duggars too - I would not want to do what they are doing... but they are doing it well, and I give them major credit for that! That woman is so calm, ALL the time, I wish I had her patience when my 3 were little! Maybe they should do a Duggars "unplugged" and show what its like there at say bedtime, or like first thing in the morning when they are going out and all need to shower.... Lets see some screaming and fighting and pushing, then I'd like them a little bit better!!!

Elaine said...

Morning Ladies,
From what I read about the Duggers and the chicken pox incident in People magazine from last week(I believe it was people)it was the older girls that had to take care of the children and Jim Bob wasn't there from what I recall. They stayed back at the home they had rented with the other children and Josie. I'm a magazine junkie! The article also talked about how the older girls loved their family but were having a difficult time. I do like watching the Dugger's on TV. It amazes me how the handle life with 19 Kids. I can barely handle 1!

EandK said...

Elaine,

I come from a fairly large family (five kids) and for many years we also had my three cousins living with us. So we were basically a family of eight kids. I think that the Duggars make this work by using the available work force of the older kids. My oldest sister still (and she is in her late 50s) talks about how she had to change and clean cloth diapers, watch us when she would have been with friends. Much of my life was assembly line with little room for deviation. It was our norm but it didn't feel so loving lots of the time. We were part of the machine and were expected to keep it all going. There was also expectations that the females would do the nurturing but without the power to discipline or have a say in the activity or demands. I don't know how the Duggars do it differently from my family but I will say that I don't have lots of fond memories.

I deliberately adopted 2 kids when I was older because I wanted to travel and have a life. My older sister had one child in her early twenties and was happy to be out of the day to day mommy role before she was forty. My other sister had two kids later in life because she was not psyched how kids would affect her. My brothers have had no children. My one cousin had one child but was never together enough to parent his kid. My other two cousins had one child each with great ambivilance (sp?). So, while we appeared ordered as we shopped, cleaned, worshiped, it clearly took a toll on all of us. We are only able to all talk about that in the last five or six years-- interestingly enough after our last parent died.

Tammi said...

I like the Duggers too. I think they are insane to have 19 kids and want more..but hey it works for them. And they do it all without assistance.

What's on everyone's agendas? I am meeting with some clients this morning to give them their proofs, then a couple of brides for next season.

Tonight we are having a party. Taco Bar Night! Everyone brings a little something and we chow down! My one friend makes the best homemade rice and beans...got the recipe from her grandma who still lives in Mexico. So yummy! Then we are going to sit down and plan a trip with all the families, for next Christmas. Should be interesting...lol

Tammi said...

Oh I was gonna say, I do like the Duggers, but I don't like how they make the older siblings be parents. I hate when any family does that. I totally get the occasional babysitting or something, we will leave Shane with the boys and go have dinner. But they aren't Shane's dad...they are kids, they will have their own time to someones parent.

EandK said...

Totally agree Tammi.

BTW, I love the idea of a taco bar as a party. Seems so simple yet fun.

Elaine said...

EandK,
Thanks for sharing your story. It sounds like it was not easy to say the least.

On today's agenda: Couples Shower for my youngest sister's upcoming wedding. Did I mention this is the 5th shower I've been to for her. I'm her MOH so I feel obligated to go to them all. I'll be glad when all this wedding hoopla is over! Oh and I'm divorced and will be going alone. Awkward?

Elaine said...

OK. I'm having trouble spelling this morning. Don't shoot me please. You can however make fun of me. LOL

EandK said...

I know there is nothing worse than the wedded bliss and being alone. Five showers? How much stuff does one need?

Elaine said...

EandK, My thoughts exactly. She's invited over 300 people to her freaking wedding. I was allowed to have 30 at mine. She's the golden child of the family. I just can't wait until it's over!

Margaret said...

Elaine - I'm happy to see you and hope you come out to play more often :)

I don't care for the Duggers. I think Mrs. Dugger is flaky and Jim Bob is a misogynyst with a shit eating grin. I don't think you can spend quality time with that many children and once the girls are old enough they are full-time baby sitters to the little kids. I think it will be interesting to see what the girls do with their lives. I'm willing to bet the older girls won't have a lot a lot of children.

Now I'm hungry for tacos :)

Margaret said...

Elaine - your best revenge would be to rent a hot dude for the wedding - imagine the chatter :)

Our friends at hssyt.blogspot.com are collecting info so they'll know exactly how much money Liz raised on OD and mwop. If you don't want to comment publicly you can send them an e-mail. Liz said she received $2k but I'm quite sure that's not true. I put that we raised $450 with the craft auction.

I thought about bringing a date however my family would be harrassing him the entire night so I felt it would be best to go solo. Love your idea though. How fun whould to "rent a hot guy"

Shannon said...

Today I will be tending to my newly broken husband. Last night he and his friends proved that when you get 3-4 adult men in their 30's it is the same as having half a dozen 14 year old boys. In the end the fun stopped when my husband slipped in the mess they had made in the kitchen and found out that his toe, minus the toe nail, will in fact fit under the fridge.

Good times. but it is one way to get a day off of work after 2 weeks straight.

Violet said...

OK I just typed a nice long post introducing myself a bit, and thanking you all for the help at HSSYT and Blogger ate it.

Dawn said...

Good morning/afternoon (depending on what Coast you are on) ladies!

How is everyone this beautiful, perfect Oregon weather day?

Shannon said...

Hi Violet......yes it has been known that Blogger loves to eat posts....especially nice long posts.

Dawn said...

Ohhh Shannon - just reading that made my toe hurt.

And yes, a group of men usually resort to their childhood. Sorry your husband hurt is toe. What kind of "mess" did he slip in?

Margaret said...

Hi Violet.

Shannon - toe injuries suck! It's going to be hard for him to wear a shoe for a while. Boys.

KaytieJ said...

Shannon - Yeouch! And I suppose you were the one left to clean up the mess, double ugh!

Lisa aka AP said...

Hi, Violet and everyone. :-)

EndK, you are a wonderful person for adopting your kids. That's one of the most unselfish, loving things I think a person can do in this world.

Sorry about Mr. Shannon's toe. I'm amused by it, too.

Re: the donation amounts - I know of one person alone who donated $1000 considering the auction and other donations, there's no way it was only $2000. No possible way.

"What's on everyone's agendas? I am meeting with some clients this morning to give them their proofs, then a couple of brides for next season."

Nothing as exciting as your day but it's a nice one here. It's storming out, all dark and angry looking...I love it. The house smells like back (making German potato salad) and clove incense. There's an old Liz Taylor movie on TV, the kid and 2 cats are asleep in my bed so I know everyone is in, safe. It's just a very contented day. :-)

Lisa aka AP said...

Let me correct that - my house doesn't small like back...ROFL! It smells like bacon. Jeeeez.

Lisa aka AP said...

Smell.
Oh, screw it.

It was actually a good thing that our friend Jason was still here because he took charge of most of the doctoring so I didnt have to do too much touching.

We are getting our friends over so just the four of us can go have a late lunch early dinner

Lisa - that sounds like a very good day. Pink Lady apples are one of my favorites to eat - have not cooked with them and so will keep that in mind. I like what you did with the pecans - will try that.

My apricot tree is bursting. I've enjoyed eating them fresh, but this evening after it cools off I am going to can and jam them. Can't believe I am excited about that!

Lisa aka AP said...

Kaytie, I'm jealous beyond belief because I love apricots! Be sure to take pictures of them all canned up and add to you blog...I want to see!

It got cool enough out after the storm that I've had my windows open...the fresh air is so nice. I've rounded out my big day by watching lifetime movies. It's a rough life. ;-)

How's the man-toe, Shannon?

JustPeachy2 said...

Oh, Daisies! The day I've had!! Took my car to the dealership for an oil change and to run a diagnostics test (check engine light came on yesterday) yesterday. Turns out the fan and an engine valve were busted but thankfully still covered under warranty. The "service consultant" tried to charge me double what the online scheduler stated but was quick to agree to charge me the real price when I brought it up! Trying to take advantage of a woman dropping off her car by herself much?!?

Then, I waited for my car to be finished today. I called around 11AM to see when it would be complete and the receptionist routed me to the service department, but there was no answer. I then asked her to have someone call me back. 45 mins later.. no call. So I call her, she routes me again, still no answer. I then ask her to walk over to the service dept and ask the tech. Well, low and behold, my car had been ready for awhile now. Thanks for the call!

I go into pick up my car, and the total is $945- my part was $185 after my warranty went into effect. Well, the idiot clerk charged my debit card for the full $945. They voided it out, but now my account is temporarily overdrawn until Tuesday morning when the transaction corrects itself. I can't access my account, take out cash, run debit for anything! UGHHH NEVER BUY VOLKSWAGEN.

Whew, thanks for letting me vent.

Lisa aka AP said...

Oh, Peach, that sucks! What did they suggest you do for money this weekend? You need to call the GM Monday morning and insist they cover any bank fees *and refund your $185 for your trouble. If they refuse, tell them you'll put it all out there online, everything they did wrong, on Craigslist, on local VW sites, BBB, etc. What awful service.

JustPeachy2 said...

Well, the person I was dealing with after was the GM. He did try to get my bank to push the transaction through today, but no dice (thanks Chase!) He refunded the $83 oil change but said they had to charge the $100 for the warranty--which I sort of understand. He did fill up my car with gas though and insist on coming with me to the bank Tuesday if the problem hasn't corrected. What a cluster!

JustPeachy2 said...

Oh, and I fully intend on putting it all over the place regardless!

Lisa aka AP said...

Oh, you know they keep petty cash on hand for situations...I'd still try to get my money back. That's such a shame they can't act right over it all. Decent customer service would have dictated they refunded you in cash so you had some money on hand for the weekend, at least.

Lisa aka AP said...

Totally unrelated, my mom told me today that she's getting her cat, Waffles (Bea's litter sister) a kitten for Christmas. It seems Waffles is bored and needs company. I think it's a great idea! Miss Arse, however, gave me the stink eye when I asked if I could pick the kitten out since I'll probably wind up owning it longer than she does in the end. :-D Yay, kitten!

JustPeachy2 said...

Yes, their customer service does not exist. He had to check the cash on hand to refund me the $83..

I've had a bad experience with VW all around unfortunately. A different dealership dinged the shit out of my door when I took it in for an oil change. They tried to claim it was already there, but I put up a fight until they fixed it and put me in a rental on their dime. The sad part is that I have never tried to take advantage of them. I even take my car to the damn dealership so that it's taken care of correctly. Fat lot of good that's done!

About the kitten : Aw, that's so sweet.. and I love the name Waffles! :)

Karen said...

Let me correct that - my house doesn't small like back...ROFL! It smells like bacon. Jeeeez.

I sat here for a full 30 seconds with my brows furrowed wondering what the hell a BACK smells like! Thank you for the clarification!!! Yikes!

Lisa aka AP said...

Good, God, you have had bad luck with them. Do you like the car overall, though?

Here's Waffles when she was a baby. We entered them into the kitten wars. :-) Oh, and you'll all thank me for sending you that site. http://kittenwar.com/kittens/38611/
She's more spoiled than Beatrice and has a special plate for the shredded cheese she has a a snack twice a day. Hand shredded, she doesn't like pre-shredded. *Someone loves her cat.

Violet said...

Oh Peach I feel your pain. I had a Volkswagen and their CS was/is the worst! I ended up getting rid of the car just so I didn't have to deal with them any longer. Loved the car, but the dealers were scammers.
Side note, I love the name Waffles, and you lucky getting to pick out a kitten. My kitten just turned 1 and I already am wanting another.

JustPeachy2 said...

Love the car, but not sure the drama is worth it.

Waffles is completely adorable! Make my morning :)

Here is a little drive by drama for ya :)

LA unveils $578M school, costliest in the nation
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100822/ap_on_re_us/us_taj_mahal_schools

Apparently the state of California, while unable to afford teachers, police, income tax returns, or pretty much anything else has somehow managed to spend over 1/2 a BILLION dollars for a super cushy school with a pool, landscaped park, murals, but keep in mind that in 2 years there have been over 3000 teachers laid off and they are having a deficit in the district of 640M.

Priorities right?

Tammi said...

I love CA! LOL My son's new high school looks like a college campus, it is gorgeous. That is the new thing...I see other states are doing it too.

But I agree..it's sick when teachers are getting laid off, etc. But it is L.A. which unless you live in CA, it's just a whole different world down there. I think they could be their own coutry! LOL

Shannon said...

LOL....LA the land of excess?

Here in Lane County not only are we facing a massive deficit where education and police funding is the first on the chopping block we are getting to see all the new freaking city and county police cars.

Yes as we have threats of slashing our city and county cops we will have pretty new cars that will sit idle because there are no officers to drive them.

Shannon said...

Tammi we had just purchased and ate a whole dozen eggs at the house THE NIGHT before the recall was announced. Thank goodness nobody here got sick since they were the Albertsons eggs.

Tammi said...

Shannon..now of course I want eggs! I want them fried, boiled, scrambled, fritata'd, over easy, over medium...egg salad! LOL!!

Shannon said...

HAHAHAHA

You are not alone in that Tammi......I have wanted eggs in the worst way for days now but I am terrified to go buy some.

Shannon said...

I need to go find me one of those little farm places around here that is selling fresh eggs.

Margaret said...

I totally see what you are saying and it is a lot of money but if you figure it's K-12 with 4,200 students I'm sure other places are spending about that much for say 3 high schools.

I wonder how much of the Kardashians is real and how much is drama for TV? They really are a mess. I'd hate to think that they think behaving the way they do is normal.

Shannon said...

See Margaret maybe I just cant grasp such an idea since where I live we have had I believe one, maybe two, schools built in the last 20+ years. The population of our town has increased a lot since the 70's and yet we still have the same 5 high schools that they had when my mother graduated HS in 1969.

Muliebrity said...

Good morning, all! Trying to be motivated today and stay off the internets. We'll see how that goes!

Margaret, The Tutors is on my list of shows I want to watch, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Tammi said...

Shannon...around here, new schools are popping up everywhere...and yes they are the mega schools. Gotta keep up with the joneses in the school dept. Our new high school put in a salt water olympic size pool. @@ Becayse you know they needed that.

Shannon said...

That is just so crazy to me....personally as a mother I would much prefer to have teachers actually educating my children as opposed to opulence and big fancy pools.

Margaret said...

Shannon - why should our elected officials spend our money wisely? IMO, you are expecting too much from them :)

Shannon said...

I know Margaret. I should go beg forgiveness for ever thinking or wanting them to actually pay attention to someone as dumb as myself....a simple voter.

Tammi said...

Well, I will admit we have the best of both worlds. Great teachers and a great new school. We are lucky to be able to live in a good area.

Elaine said...

The district I live in cut teachers by 10% (I believe that's the number) but have built at least 5 new schools in the last year. I don't understand the logic. Oh, and then they ask parents to donate money and hold a zillion fundraisers a year.

Shannon said...

The littlest guy in the house doesnt get to bring home artwork anymore....it is now sold in an auction kind of thing. Pretty nice that parents now have to buy their children's creations in order to fund art classes.

Dawn said...

Good afternoon ladies!

Shannon - I was reading what you said about schools. I was worried when I moved from a very wealthy school district in the suburbs of Atlanta to the little town of Lebanon, OR.

I just knew in my heart that they weren't going to have a very good special ed class. I was so wrong. Lebanon has been the best school for Taylor ever. The whole school is very accepting of the special needs kids. The school district we came from was all about bigger is better and they were so freakin' snooty.

Elaine said...

Wow Shannon. I haven't heard of that one yet. I can't believe public schools are allowed to do that.

Shannon said...

Dawn that is one thing that I think that the schools especially in the smaller districts excel at, the special ed classes. I think that it may be due to the ratio of students to funding that helps out with giving them a good program.

Ya know with my kids if they were still young I would homeschool them at this point.

Tammi said...

Shannon..now that is ridiculous!

My youngest son is actually in a visual/performing arts magnet school. I would go broke!

Shannon said...

UGH I have to say I hate this time of the year....the time of year when the whiners come out in full force in the Willamette Valley to blame field burning for all of their breathing problems.

Honestly anyone who knows what it is like in this valley knows that we get to have year round allergens. We have trees. We have fields. We have wild growth areas. We have some of the highest pollen levels in the state. Doctors tell people who suffer from severe asthma and allergies that this is not the place to live at any time of the year.

But the debate is alive and well again that it is all to blame on the approximate 3 weeks of field burning.

PISH THE WHINERS!!!

Dawn said...

I'm with you Shannon. It seems like there are people around here who blame all the world's problems on field burning.

Shannon said...

LOL Dawn I knew you would understand being as how you are right here with me.

I dont know how it is that people seem to think it is all about the field burning especially since the last few years we have had pretty gnarly fires in the mountains that have produced way more smoke then field burning. And in all seriousness I should leave the valley for all of my allergy problems but I live here because I love it.

Lisa aka AP said...

Hi, hi...just so y'all know, eggs are still okay as long as they are cooked well, as in no runny yolks and such. Hard-scrambled/fried or baked/cooked into things is fine. :-)

Erin Lutz said...

Hi girls. Have been super busy. Hi to you Dawn! How is Miss Tay?

Shannon- our middle school does the auction too. So stupid.

Shannon said...

Erin I am so glad to know that it isnt just our school that does such a thing. It really frustrates me. I paid $4 to get two of his art projects this last year at the auction....I dont know if someone outbid me or what but they never came here.

Dawn said...

Hey Erin! Taylor is driving me crazy at the moment because The Bossman has her computer cleaning it up and loading some new games for her to play. Thank goodness for Sesame Street toddler games. Of course, now all she can think about is that her computer is not in her room like it should be.

Shannon - I have asthma but I don't think you could pry me out of the valley on my worst day. I love it here. Even with the burning, the climate is much better here than in the humid GA.

EandK said...

Shannon, Dawn, and All, the art auction thing is the craziest thing I heard yet. How could you have to pay for the work?

I think we have done the same thing to schools that we have done with other public works areas. We need school infrastructure like upgraded technology. And... we need qualified teachers. Unfortunately, we have just left many of our buildings to go obsolete.

Muliebrity said...

Who is it that is the computer fixing guru? Dawn? The reason I ask is that my husband is excellent at fixing comps and is A+ certified and all that jazz. Anyway, he has always fixed friends and family's computers, but through word of mouth he has the opportunity to turn it into a part time business, but he has no idea what to charge and what type of paperwork he should be doing when he takes someones CPU, etc. Would you be willing to share some of your knowledge regarding pricing, etc? Email me if you don't mind muliebritysmith@hotmail.com

Dawn said...

Mulie - My s/o is the computer guru. He is also A+ certified. He worked for a company fixing computers here in our town. When he went to management and straigtened out the company, they laid him off. He had always wanted to start a computer repair business, so we did. We turned part of our house into the business.

We make a really good living. Here's his website. Maybe this will help your husband. If you have any more questions feel free to email me. My email address is on my blog profile.

Dawn said...

Oops, for some reason I didn't see your email address at the end of your post.

Sorry to all for the shameless plug I just gave The Bossman.

Muliebrity said...

Sounds like he deserves it, Dawn! Thanks for sharing, lady! My guess is that you should be giving yourself a little more credit. ;-)

Dawn said...

I tell him all the time he couldn't do this without me since I run interference for him with customers. It took me about a year to get customers to understand I knew a little about what I was saying. *laughs*

Of course, it's nice that he usually tells me that first.

Muliebrity said...

Ooo, ooo, full moon! Wallet shaking time!

Shannon said...

LOL the moon hasnt come above the trees yet where I can see it so my wallet just got shaken to death at the horizon because I know the moon is there!!!

Karen said...

Dawn - I just checked out your husband's website and that service that he has with the slides being converted to digital photos is aweomse - does he do alot of that type of work? I bet that is a good money maker, but seems well worth the prices!!

dkmissie said...

Happy Tuesday Daisies

Margaret said...

Good morning girls.

The full moon is actually tonight - so shake, shake, shake, my friends!

No field burning issues here :)

Muliebrity said...

Are you sure, Margaret? My atomic clock said it was full last night. That would be good news, since I posted that last night, then promptly forgot to go shake.

Shannon said...

HEHEHE I will shake again tonight just to make sure that I got the damn thing :)

Margaret said...

My calendar says it's tonight - shake it!

Tammi said...

Shake what? Our asses? Because remember I don't have one! lol

Shannon said...

Well Tammi you can shake your wallet and get some cash....maybe......or you can shake your ass at the moon and wake up in the morning with ethnic booty :) ( I say ethnic because white girls dont get booty like girls of color :) )

Tammi said...

Ethnic booty...LOL!!

Shannon said...

My friend Tania and her brother Jason are mixed.....I tease her all the time because I notice often that black girls (yes not pc sorry) either get boobs or butts but rarely both well she got boobs....her brother got the butt :)

Now whit girls seem to get things in sets....big boobs you get a big belly....big butt you get big hips/thighs. I got the boobs/belly....my SIL got the butt/hips/thighs

Shannon said...

I will say it right now I am jealous of the ethnic booty!!!!!! I want to have a nice round booty with a tiny waist LOL but nooooo I have this partially deflated booty, no hips, and no waist!

Erin Lutz said...

I would be happy with no butt or no big boobies!

The explaination we got on the art auction was that it was the schools materials, and they were under no obligation for it to *automatically be sent home. WTF? Maybe they could keep their dittos and flyers then too!

Dawn- lol on the computer. You guys need to sneak it out while she is sleeping!

I will shake tonight. It better work this time. Last time I got a check for *four CENTS.

Margaret said...

Tammi - somebody told me years ago that if you shake your wallet (3 times) at a full moon some extra money will come your way.

Shannon said...

Erin that whole line of explanation, about the art work, really ticks me off too....they can send out 10000 fliers for this and that every month and seem to forget that parents are buying supplies not for their child but for their entire class.

Margaret said...

Random thought - I wonder if JM has considered selling milk squirt art as it seems to be her passion right now.

Melissa said...

Margaret-What?!?! I haven't been keeping up on her lately. Do tell.

Margaret said...

She posted pictures on her blog of the milk she squireted on her laptop.

Melissa said...

I'm sorry but that's just crazy. Has she seriously lost her mind? Who wants to see that? I'm all for breastfeeding etc but there has to be a line drawn as to what is socially acceptable.

Margaret said...

Right - I mean who does that? I've always said that her and IM are like two teenagers left to *play house. Those poor children.

Melissa said...

Her parents must be so proud. I really feel for those kids. I can only imagine what "real" life is like for them.

Tammi said...

Roast beef, blue cheese, carmelized onions, mayo, honey mustard, tomato, lettuce on a rustic roll. I am in sandwich love....

Muliebrity said...

That crazy Anderson woman has written a great little post on the egg recall.

http://stevenandersonfamily.blogspot.com/2010/08/egg-recall-austin-jack-decoster-not.html

Shannon said...

LOL Mulie I am now jealous

Muliebrity said...

I actually have a hood pass because of it.

It's actually kind of unfair, because I am super Irish white, and the booty, hips, and thighs do not look as rocking when they are bright white.

Shannon said...

HAHAHA yes the joy of the glaring whiteness :)

I got to be blessed with a muffin top and thighs that make me have to wear pants that fit those things...very rarely do they fit my hips and butt. I think I just need to lose weight until I am a size 2 then maybe it will look like I have hips and booty......somehow I dont see that happening though.

Muliebrity said...

My parents are commenting on my FB again.

Shannon said...

HAHAHAHA My mother doesnt even know what FB is so I am safe :)

Muliebrity said...

The parents of AM2's to be adopted baby have decided to keep her, Shannon. She must be so upset right now.

Shannon said...

OH that breaks my heart. She was so happy about getting her. I hate it honestly when birth parents do this. I understand that it is such a hard decision to make but when you wait till the 11th hour to decided to keep the baby it is not very cool to me.

Wasnt it today or tomorrow where they went to make things final?

Muliebrity said...

It was today. The baby was going to come home today. The birth parents didn't even see the baby when the mom was in the hospital. She didn't even hold her at all. I hope the baby has a good life, but AM2 seems like a great mom. I feel terrible for her.

Shannon said...

That is part of what makes no sense to me...I mean they didnt have anything to do with her before leaving the hospital. I am so upset for her because she is an awesome mom and she is one that is often spoken of here.....she cant have her own and she is fully open to adoption. I really hope that something makes them change their hearts and she gets her baby girl.

Muliebrity said...

It never fails. I ask a question on FB and my mom starts googling the question and reporting like she knows something about it. She cracks me up. She has never cooked or eaten okra in her life, yet she has already posted 2 links for okra recipes.

I have already heard from some of you, but if you all have any ideas for canning or freezing fresh okra, let me know!

Lisa aka AP said...

Ethnic booty. Oh, my God. Hispanic women with big asses and small boobs...is there really anything better in the world? No. No, there is not. Lol, I knew y'all would want to hear that. I got no ethic booty out of the mix, sadly. My ass channeled some random Irish person thrown into my genetics and grabbed her flat ass for itself.

Who is AM2? I tried Googling but only came up with sockets.

"That crazy Anderson woman has written a great little post on the egg recall."

Hey, she's not crazy! I like Zsuzsanna, even when she is full of shit. I wish like hell I could get better eggs around here but I can't find anyone who raises them locally. :-/

Lisa aka AP said...

So, randomness - I'm on a diet and it's for real. Long story involving a blood pressure machine at Publix as to why but I am now forced to eat better *and lose a lot of weight. My alternative is probably dying and I'm not up for that yet. :-P~ In an effort to still have fun cooking, I skinned chicken thighs tonight and covered them with sliced Mission figs and black pepper. And salt substitute. *sighs* They're baking in the oven right now, along with a halved butternut squash that has only nutmeg and a little Pam on it. We shall see how this figgy chicken idea works but I think it has the potential to be very good. In the interest of being nice people, you will not share with me if your dinner includes mashed potatoes.

Muliebrity said...

You know I like her! She is a *little crazy though. It occured to me today that she is so far right, that she is almost starting to go left. I love her posts. Did you read her "Homo" Depot post? I love how dry she is. She cracks me up.

Muliebrity said...

*occurred
