A post for a few days

So this video cracks me up.......Correct me if I am wrong but isnt Bill O'Reilly one of those very right wing conservatives that does everything in their power to make sure that blame is shifted and fingers are pointed so long as it isnt at their guy?

I just thought that a little pot/kettle action might be fun for an otherwise uneventful Thursday morning.

Karen. I'm getting ready to do a blog post about my glasses. I'm bored-ish. ;-) I got these from eyebuydirect.com, though.

Erin, August as in Jake leaving? I think he might not be going, at least not then. I have no idea why not. I don't ask. I just go with the flow and hum in my head a lot.

I was loving that room until I saw that tree painted on the wall. Somehow, that just ruined it for me.

Karen said...

Cool about the blog post Lisa! You gonna share pics of what you bought? Just please put links up to the stores online, because my dumb ass will forget and ask you 20 more times before I order! If its on your blog - then all I gotta do is go look it up when ready - Gotta treat the senior citizens special around here ya know?

Goodnight - heading to bed and hoping Tay sleeps all night!!

Karen said...

Ok just kidding about the links, I just bookmarked both of them!! And just kidding about being a senior citizen, I'm not there quite yet!!

Ok for real going to bed, I'm NOT kidding!!!

Those sheets are going on my Christmas/Birthday list. For that price that should be like, 1,000 thread count, right?

Erin said...

AP-I didn't like the tree either, but the rest is awesome. I thought you said you hated July? Since you have a headache, and it is still July, maybe come august it will be better. Although....I could have dreamed it all.

Lisa said...

Erin, July sucks hard but the worst is over and I've already put it out of my mind until next year. Thank you for remembering that, though. :-)

Karen, my blog post about my glasses is up and please read it before you get ready to order. Heh, anyone would think I get paid for clicks by saying that.

Mulie, they're darn expensive but hey, it's Anthropoloie. Personally, all my sheets come from Target's clearance sales after back-to-school sales are over. Full sized set, 300 thread count for $9? That's my cup o' tea. :-)

Erin said...

That's where my sheets come from too. I only like the light flannel, so I get mine after christmas is over. In my house there *are snowmen who see July!

Mulie- I saw on the news last night about a couple in Europe who had a daughter with cow and goat milk allergies. The gave her donkey milk. It is $20 a quart! Yikes!
Did you used to live in Baltimore?

Tammi said...

Little late, but on the seafood boil, I put in corn and potatoes...every spice known to man, water and white wine. Let them go for a while, then I add in the mussels, clams, scallops, shrimp, let them go, then we added two big crabs on top. Drain all that and re-add more wine, garlic, butter, tons of fresh chopped parsley. Line the kitchen island with newspapers, and dump it all out. It was delish!

Tammi said...

Lisa...yeah the tree on that wall was a huge distraction. And I can tell it's not even painted..it's one of those vinyl thingys.

I will take a picture of the mural we had PAINTED in our pool room. We took that famous picture of the dogs playing pool and had the lady paint in our animals instead. I love it! People oooh and ahh when they see it, then it dawns on them, "hey, is that Sadie and Buddy?" Yup...and I had her paint in one cat...Butch..my man and he is "overseeing" the game.

Muliebrity said...

EL, I lived in SOMD. In Lusby which is the no-name town right next to Solomon's Island. Hubby worked over at Pax NAS. You and Deb are both in MD, right? From what I gathered, you are just up the road from where we lived. We just moved last Summer and lived there 4 years.

Muliebrity said...

I usually buy my sheets at Costco/Sam's, Marshall's/TJ's/Homegoods, or on clearance at Target. I have a Queen bed, so sometimes it's difficult to find them on clearance. I always see lots of full sheets.

Lisa said...

G'morning!

Tammi, stop bragging about your works of art...lol. It does sound cute, though.

Erin, how are the babies today?

Lisa said...

Hit send too soon...Erin, how are you doing today, too?

Anyone have anything exciting going on?

Erin said...

Babies are off with Jason's step sister for a few hours, and I am taking the girls to the moovies. They slept good (knocking...no, *pounding on wood). I was going to vaccuume up cheerios, but I will just let the dogs in!

Mulie- i am in NW baltimore county (reisterstown). We vacationed in Leonardstown a few years ago.

Muliebrity said...

It sounds funny to hear someone say they vacationed in Leonardtown, EL! Both my boys were born there and their ped and my ob are both there. What does one do in Leonardtown for vaycay?

Muliebrity said...

My husband has been smoking these effing e-cigarettes and they are driving me nutty!

Lisa said...

Mulie, what do they do to bother you? I thought they were scentless and all.

Muliebrity said...

Because they make this cracking and popping noise and you still have to exhale. He never really smoked a lot, maybe 5-6 a day during the week and 2-3 on the weekends. He would always sneak outside. Now, I swear he probably smokes more! He's just over here on the computer puffing away. He seems to think that must be healthy or something.

Muliebrity said...

I was reading on the stuff I found about the reasons nicotine itself is bad, so he started doing his own research. I am cracking up, because half way into something he started reading to me, he had to stop, because it started proving my point. Bahahahaha! It basically said that even early American settlers thought it was bad and modern technology has proved that to be true.

Lisa said...

I had no idea they made noise. Lol, you two have fun with that.

Shannon said...

Morning ladies........I am detecting a pattern that tells me that Mulie really hates anything to do with smoking.

KaytieJ said...

Morning!
Lisa - I was over on the 200 page. Took me 2 minutes to figure out what the heck B1G1 was, meant. More coffee STAT! LOL!

Tammi - Great idea on the mural! And your seafood boil sounds like so much fun!

KaytieJ said...

regarding smoking. I still laugh at Clinton's, "but I did not inhale"

Lisa said...

Welllllp, bizarre-ness just happened. I've been subpoenaed to attend a court hearing in TN because apparently they are finally hauling Tom's ass into court over child support. I bet he's ready to hurt someone (probably me) because it is listed as Lisa vs. Thomas, so he's going to think I actually filed up there. Heee! Funny thing, too, the hearing will be overseen by a "referee" - that's what she's actually called and how appropriate is that? God, I'd love to be a fly on the wall in his house right about now...

So, this all being the case, I need to lose some weight so I look cute before January and I need a killer outfit. :-D

Shannon said...

ROFLMAO that is awesome Lisa.....I bet there are many expletives going on right now in his house all with your name attached.

Lisa said...

Kaytie, hi! You working tonight?

Lisa said...

Oh, no kidding, Shannon. I honestly feel so much safer now that Creekbed Rick is dead and can actually get a laugh out of this. I was always worried he'd come mess with me if I pissed Tom and his wife (CR's sister) off. He owes nearly $17,000, I believe. I can't imagine he's going to get by with paying any less than 1/4 of it. Not that he knows it yet, but I think if that's the case, it's time to get my kid a car. Lol, and a driver license.

Shannon said...

No kidding how nice would that be if you were able to get a big chunk of that when you go to court.....get the boy a car and a license, some money to help him out and some for mom.

Shannon said...

I was pissed when my dad got his settlement from the VA and I didnt get a penny of it. My mom worked her ass of providing for me and if I had gotten anything from him it would have gone straight from my hand to hers but no such luck.

Lisa said...

Did he ever pay child support for you, Shannon? I'm assuming not. :-/ Have you heard from him lately?

Shannon said...

I talked to him last weekend. He never did pay anything for me....he was one of those who had a habit of working off the books. When he finally got his disability from the VA I was out of my mom's house so while I got nothing from him ever my brothers were able to collect.

KaytieJ said...

Lisa - Woohoo! About time. Did you shake your wallet at the full moon? Definitely less scary with CR out of the picture, but I would not want you around them right now. The weird thing is that how could he not know that he would get tagged for not paying? So frustrating.

Shannon - I am sorry your mom,, you and brother's went through that.

Margo said...

Hello ladies :)

Woo hoo if you can get some money out of your ex!

Sandy said...

Hi, I'm just pulling out the lawn chair since it's a little early today.

Woo Hoo for you Lisa!

Margaret, nice to see you as always!

PJ said...

Hi ladies - Margaret - with your latest exclamation, you've now inspired me to try to get some money out of my ex.

PJ said...

He won't even pay the 20% of the ER bills from when *he took our 20 year old daughter to the ER twice in the past year.

SHE has creditors calling HER.

PJ said...

Off to see Karate Kid at the budget theater with my nephews and husband.

Lisa said...

CK, that is awful about your ex-husband leaving your daughter stuck with those bills. I don't care that she's 20...in the case of medical bills, if you can afford to cover them for your kid, why wouldn't you?

Shannon, at least your dad did finally have to pay for your brothers. I guess that's something.

Kaytie, no, I didn't even shake my wallet...of course I've also not gotten any money yet, either.

Lisa said...

*waves at Margaret and Sandy*

It's so nice to pop in here and see people. :-)

Margo said...

Is that really CK? I was thinking you'd be Al's date to the big wedding in NY today.

Muliebrity said...

Think I'm going to make some toaster oven 'smores.

PJ said...

Margaret - I dumped Al for that other woman he was seeing on the side. I have no idea who he's taking to the wedding.

Bummed that I'm not going, however. Maybe I should have stuck it out a little bit longer.

kristin said...

That sucks CK - maybe you can crash the party?

AP - sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope you get some rest and feel better soon.

I guess I missed it where you mentioned Jake was thinking of leaving in august. I know you will miss him and he you but ya gotta let him go.

Also, very cool on the child support thing - I hope it works out.

Waving at all the other friendly faces out there!

Chelsey's gown - and her hairstyle is quite lovely (IMO)

Karen said...

Evening Daisy's! CK I agree Chelsey looks great!

I'm tired, had Tay overnight last night and we were up at 8 this morning - then tonight we went to the local speedway and watched car races, and the Starboyz motorcycle trick group - it was alot of fun - Now I'm relaxing and ready for bed - hope everyone has a good Sunday!

Lisa said...

I agree that Chelsea looked beautiful. Her hair was pretty, her gown pretty, everything very classic and elegant. I'd sure like to know what they spent the estimated 3.5 million on, though.

"I guess I missed it where you mentioned Jake was thinking of leaving in august. I know you will miss him and he you but ya gotta let him go."

I wonder if Kristin will be so blithe about it when LM hits 18 and wants to move have a country away. :-D

Lisa said...

have = half

kristin said...

probably not LisAP - I know it will be hard and am hoping they come up with a serum soon so I can keep him cute and 4 forever :)

Margo said...

Chelsea looked beautiful and now I'm glad it's over. It's all we've heard about for weeks!

AP - it feels very unnatural calling you Lisa :) I never want Hannah to leave home - never ever. She's my love. She was precious, yesterday morning she would not leave the beach house until she wrote my nephews a note and left them some money so they could go out for ice cream at the beach. She's so caring and lovely -it amazes me.

Lisa said...

Morning, all! Kristin and Margaret, I wish it worked that way...definitely enjoy them while yo ucan! Marget, that is so sweet...she sounds like a wonderful girl. And Kristin, keep him 10, not 4. 10 is a far better age, believe me. ;-)

And I don't care what y'all call me, really! I just wanted to have my name and not my blog name showing on posts.

Tammi said...

Chelsea did look very pretty.

Lisa...where is Jake going? :(

And it's my anniversary (18 yr) and I am hung over...bad wife. LOL

Lisa said...

Happy anniversary, Tammi!

And Jake is talking about moving to Ohio...I actually think he will. He has a friend who lives there he can live with, he can get a good job where his friend works (entry level IT work), college is decent enough for now, music scene is close, cost of living lower. *sighs* I hate to see him go but I get why he wants to. This area has nothing for him at all and it's only going to get worse.

Tammi said...

Lisa...that would be hard. I know for now Zach wants to stay home..he likes the gravy train..LOL, but that could change any time. He will go to college here, so we shall see.

And thanks!

Lisa said...

Part of me wishes he'd stay and the idea just kills me, but another part of me knows why he wants to go and I'm not about to do what my folks did, making it all ugly and a big uproar when I tried to do the same. He very much wants to try his hand at breaking into the music industry and while we all know it's remote, I wish I'd had support in following my dreams instead of having them shot down as impractical or foolish. Even now, I resent them for that. He'd be right outside of Detroit there, so the opportunities would be far greater than anything here. He can always come home but he won't always have another chance to follow a dream, you know?

Margo said...

Happy Anniversary Tammi!

I'm experiencing PVD - post vacation depression and watching dumb movies with my hubs on Netflix.

Tammi said...

Here's my theory. If I am funding your dream...you get two years..it doesn't pan out, you go back to plan B. Or keep going, but I won't help anymore.

They do know college is non-negotiable. I won't bend on that. And honestly they get a clue. Zach especially wants to make money, and I have told him without some sort of degree you will never make what you want to. I know, I know there are people who do, but nowadays that is far and few between.

I admire you for letting him at least try. :)

Lisa said...

Sorry about the PVD, Margaret. Any good dumb movies?

And that's the thing, Tammi, I won't be helping him financially with this. Dreams are something you have to do yourself, I think. At best, I may see that he has a car and insurance for a year if something comes through on the CS thing. That's it. Jake's not interested in money as long as he has enough to get by on. He'd be happy living in a car and eating crackers if he means he can devote his life to his music. His choice, but I'm not buying the crackers. :-D I do agree he needs to take a bit of time away from school, though...it's been a hard road with the mess we ran into and I do not blame him in the least for wanting to put college off for a year. I guess I'm seeing this as his chance to "backpack through Europe", so to speak, and I totally understand his reasonsa and am proud of him for having the courage (or stupidity...lol) to do something about it. I'll just miss him if he goes. *sighs*

Margo said...

I hope when the time comes Hannah knows what she wants to do. I went to art school for 2 years after high school, then worked for a while, then went back and got my BA.

Margo said...

What does he play, Lisa?

Lisa said...

Margaret, he plays guitar, bass, all keyboards including synthesizers (piano is iffy, however, since he rarely gets to use one), and the theremin. He passionately loves bass and synths, though, as well as computer-generated music. He is self-taught in all of them and also writes his own music. There's no question that he's very, very good but so are many other people so the odds are against him making a career of it. I'd rather him try and fail than have regrets, though.

Lisa said...

By the way, that's wonderful that you got your degree. Art is what I set out to study and what I got shot down on at home. It wasn't practical or useful so it was foolish a waste of time and money. I got so sick of hearing it, I gave up the idea. I'm very glad you didn't.

Margo said...

I didn't get a degree in art - I could have been a good graphic artist but I wanted to be a fine artist and I'm just not that talented. I went back to get my BA at my uncle's urging. The plan was to get my undergrad and then go to law school and practice with him - which had been a dream of his for us to practice law together.

.

Lisa said...

Okay, that is *too weird because law school had been my other option, one I actually started working for but couldn't deal with working full time and going to school full time and the idea of part-time wasn't something my patience could handle. What kind of law were you interested in? I wanted to go into labor and employment law. Y'all will love this but I actually wanted, ultimately, to work for the ACLU. :-D What made you change your mind, Margaret?

Margo said...

I would have practiced labor law too. I burned out completing my BA in 2.5 years while working almost full time and didn't continue on.

kristin said...

Lisa - I am glad you are letting Jake follow his dream! More parents should stand behind their kids and have the confidence that they will land on their feet. You are an awesome mom!

Muliebrity said...

I think you would make a great lawyer, Margaret! I actually have 2 friends in their early 40's who are getting ready to start law school at WashU.

Lisa said...

Thanks, Kristin, but I'm not at all confident he'll land on his feet. It's something he needs to do, though, or he'll never get over regretting it. I'll just hold my breath and drink a lot. ;-)

kristin said...

well you believe in him and are giving him the wings to fly and will be there if he doesn't land on his feet.

alright, it is way past my bedtime so goodnight all!

Lisa said...

Oh, heck, yes...I'll be there for him for nearly anything that doesn't involved cops, jail or bail.

G'night, Kristin. I think I'll go pretty soon myself.

Melissa, you out there? We actually got rain today! How are the kids doing back at home?

Karen said...

Lisa Ohio will be good to him I promise!! You are a good mom, its hard to let your kids out on their own... but it necessary!! - I had to laugh when you said about this is his "backpacking around Europe" - that could be a new slogan for Ohio - the poor man's Europe!! I could go check on him, every day - take pictures, send them to you - hide microphones and keep you connected with what he is doing and saying ... do you want me to?? do ya? huh? I will, I promise... do you want me too??

LOL no - not really I wouldn't do that - that would just be CREEEEPY!!

Night everyone!!!

Melissa said...

Morning everyone.

Lisa-Yep, we got rain yesterday afternoon/last night. I'm so glad because we certainly needed it, everything has been so dry.
The kids have been de-spoiled and are now back to normal. This is their last week off before going back to school.

Margo said...

My SIL's brother is a great musician - loves music - was in a pretty well known band for a while but went to college too. I think for him he loves music, loves to play gigs, but never wanted to have a musician's life (if that makes sense). On the flip side is one of my friends who is now in his 40s still thinking he's going to be a star. His life is sad.

Margo said...

Hi Melissa - a friend of mine went to Georgetown Cupcake the other day - had to wait 45 mins for cupcakes, said they were ok.

Melissa said...

Margaret-That's nuts. I'm sorry but I would be royally ticked if I had to wait longer than 10 minutes for a cupcake that was just "ok". Are you back to work this morning?

Margo said...

Yep, I'm back in the saddle.

Margo said...

I'm checking out mwop - I know we have some JM fans here. Do you really believe this baby is early?

Melissa said...

I haven't read over at mwop in a while but I have to say that I'm not surprised in the least that the baby is "early".

Deb said...

Good morning ladies!

Margaret - sorry to hear you are experiencing PVD, and Hannah is a sweet heart for leaving the note and money for ice cream!

Lisa - I could totally envision you being a lawyer. I'm glad to hear you could be re-couping some of the missing child support too.

Deb said...

Margaret - I don't think it's early. Thinking back to when she was screwing around with everyone, hinting about babies, etc on her blog. This is right around the time it would be due.

Lisa said...

Good morning!

"I could go check on him, every day - take pictures, send them to you..."

Lol! *smacks Karen*

"On the flip side is one of my friends who is now in his 40s still thinking he's going to be a star. His life is sad."

Oh, see, this is my huge fear. Not that Jake wants to be a star, but he wants to be known and respected for his music among musicians. Same thing, less flash. It's a good thing I don't have a basement for him to live in.

Have a good day back to work, Margaret!

Melissa, glad the kids are home. Are they dreading school?

Hi, Deb!

And lastly, I just went to JM's blog and looked around. There's not been a post to have 100 comments in days. I guess, though, if her clicks are still coming in, it doesn't matter. I, too, don't think this baby is early but she's swear it is, of course. As an aside, I can't get comments to load at all on MYOP...haven't been able to in days. Anyone else having trouble?

Muliebrity said...

Did JM have her baby? Scheduled or spontaneous?

Muliebrity said...

Never mind. It's a nail biter.

Margo said...

I don't think the baby is early either - I think it's more drama to keep people interested.

Margo said...

I can only get into the comments if there are like 50 or less. I mainly just read what mwop has to say.

Shannon said...

OK HOLD THE DAMN PHONE!!!!! JM's baby is going to be early????? Now for some reason I recall having a talk with someone about this just recently actually. When I got back from my unstable break from the internet I had to check in with a friend who reminded me that yes in fact JM is supposed to have gestational diabetes. We got into a convo about such things back and fourth because she doesnt have issue with the woman like I do....Now I am freaking sorry but I am a little ticked off that ONCE AGAIN JM is validating those who have questioned her because was it not roughly 3-4 weeks before she actually would have been pregnant with her announcements that people were saying she looked pregnant???? Now we shall see how this baby is doing and if it is a healthy full term little man we know she lied through her teeth so that she could get some drama stirred up on her site.

Deb said...

Margaret - I only read the MWOP posts too, I get bored with the comments after a while. It's the same thing over and over.

This baby, I predict, will be well over 6 pounds at birth. *Not preemie.

Tammi said...

MWOP? Sounds interesting.

Whacky pregnant woman are fun to mess with...lol

And Good Morning!

Lisa said...

Well, she can always Photoshop it to look smaller and thinner. Am I correct, though, that this probably means while she was going on about Stellan about to die, she really was actively trying to get pregnant? Or do I have my timelines messed up?

Melissa said...

With mwop comments being through Disqus I've found that it takes forver for them to load. I was able to go there this morning and see all of the comments so I'm not having any issues there.

Lisa-I think that your right with your timelines. I think that was even addressed at mwop a while ago as well.

Deb said...

Tammi - this woman is beyond whacky pregnant woman. She is greedy money attention-whore whacky pregnant woman.

Shannon said...

Lisa we called it MONTHS ago back in the SIP days. And yes this means that either as Stellan was recovering in his hospital bed or in the days leading up to his surgery mom and dad decided they would work on another baby......Great parents right there...making sure that their kid is the center of their attention.

And sure she could make the baby look smaller....she certainly has worked wonders on herself in some. But honestly I am a little ticked with this chic right now.....I will NOT be reading MWOP simply because there are some whackados on there who tend to go a little far lol

Tammi said...

"She is greedy money attention-whore whacky pregnant woman"

I don't even have a commment for that! LOL

It would have to be dissected and then discussed. haha
