Mea culpa, y'all.

I know that back when, my constant pushing of Chris (and Elizabeth) was part of the downfall of this blog.  I get it.  Really.  I screwed up royally with my constant pushing for money for them and I still feel bad about that. So, I've tried to make things right with everyone tonight.  Granted, I am not rich (<--massive understatement) and don't have a lot of money to give away, but I figured out I could suck it up and share $50 in order to try to at least show my intentions were honorable then and now.  So, in the name of all the Daisies and this blog, we're going to help a kind-looking man grow his pretty flowers.  How cool is that? No contributions needed...it's on me but for us all.  I'll post any updates I get and here's the link to our sweet new friend, Andres from Peru. :-)

Good morning. Actually Lisa I am a bit Irish :) my mother's mother is full blooded and was actually 1st generation on one parents side and 2nd on the other :)

Back to the suicide thing....been there...been so close to being there. And while yes for the person who is contemplating it they think they are doing the best for everyone around them however in reality they will be destroying the loved ones left behind that have to deal with it...that would be why I say it is selfish.

Also as you said there does have to be an ill mind in there to follow through with it. Be it something more serious like psychosis or something that everyone has a touch of like depression there is some mental illness to follow through with such an act and nobody else can control that.

This aint gonna come out right but oh well the idea will be there.

I honestly dont see human beings being much different then any other animals out there in the world. It is a known and proven fact that with pack animals in the wild if one is weak or different the others will attack it until they either drive it out or kill it. I think it is human nature to bully. People see different things as flaws in other people and they will focus on that flaw it is just part of the survival of the fittest thing. Right or wrong.

Lisa, I think that's awesome.

We do Kiva! Yes!

Shannon said...

So apparently according to some friends in NZ and AUS nothing rapture related has happened yet :)

Margo said...

Shannon - I think Rapture Day is limited to American fundies :)

I've received a few e-mails asking me if I'm a moderator at the JM forum - the answer is no and I've never been there. But I still read mwop sometimes and can't wait to see the new RV weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Lisa, I think it's nice that you donated to Kiva. There are a lot a lot of good charities out there.

Shannon said...

Margo I think that would be wonderful if tomorrow we find that they have all been raptured LOL

I am quite sure that you are probably THE mod at the JM forum :) Since I have been out of touch with the world so much has happened and I find if humorous but almost afraid to try to read up on all I have missed :]

AP- So sorry to hear about your kitty.

Shannon- I saw your post on SIF's BF and now I'm paranoid about R. We are both at higher risk of it.

Hi everyone.

Shannon said...

Jill it is scary stuff but it is also not all that common. The signs though are really easy to spot though if you know anything about diabetes and I think that was the biggest reason my little guy friend was able to get in so early was because we were really noticing and paying attention to what was going on with him.

And just so you know too.....Type 1 has nothing to do with diet or any of that it is an autoimmune disorder. Type 2 is generally the whole diet induced type of diabetes. I have to be careful with myself for that one as well right now because in the last approximately 2 years my grandfather and my mom's sister have both been diagnosed so we are seeing a family history develop.

Shannon said...

And Lisa I have heard that you have a beautiful post on your blog about Gina. I have not read it as of yet, still not quite over losing Buzz yet, but I will.

Lisa, aka AP said...

Shannon, don't yet...it's too soon for you to read it. And I still tear up thinking about your poor old Buzz. :-(

Glad y'all liked my Kiva donation! Andres met his goal soon after, so he's good now. When (and I'm assuming it's when and not if) he pays the loan back, we'll just take that money and reinvest it in someone else in the name of all the Daisies. Let's see how much good our little $50 contribution can do over and over...how's that sound to everyone?

Lol, I'm anxious to see Happy Wheels II, as well, Margo, although I'll admit I thought the bedroom for the kids looked cute.

I happen to agree with you completely. It's ugly, but it's a reality of life and sometimes those *are ugly.

Lisa, aka AP said...

Oh, oh, I just read it looks like JM is off for an undetermined amount of time, since they found a "renter" for their house. Out of curiosity, would anyone here be okay with leaving all their belongings but for what they could fit in a pull-behind trailer with renters? Unless, I guess, the renters were family. I mean, I guess you could move everything to a storage unit but that just feels so unstable to me. Don't get me wrong, I'd be okay with traveling long-term, even with kids, but I'd need to know there a home with all our personal stuff in it, waiting for us when we returned. What about y'all?

Shannon said...

Lisa there is no way possible that I would be willing to rent out my home and all of my possessions to strangers.

Like you said I would need to know that I still have a homebase I can come back to at the drop of a hat if things didnt go as planned.

Personally I could not travel around with my children in a camper or an RV for an extended period of time. I need my space and the ability to walk away to another room to be alone if need be and with kids that young I would go insane being forced to be in the same space all of the time. Hell I would even get tired of being around my husband in that kind of a situation. There is just something to say about alone time and personal space.

Shannon said...

And can I just say UGGGG knowing they will be in my neck of the woods LOL

Lisa, aka AP said...

Now, see, I'd be excited and want to go snoop! If we took up a donation, would you book a photo shoot with her and tell us about it? ;-)

Lisa, aka AP said...

For the record, I'm *not really asking for donations. :-D

Shannon said...

BWHAHAHA if there were donations for the shoot, gas, food, and waste of my time absolutely :)

And I could feel snoopish but with the price of gas being what it still is I dont know that she is worth it

Lisa, aka AP said...

How far will she be from you? If she ever comes to Florida and isn't too far away, I swear I'm booking Jake a shoot. I *am. We may not eat a lot for awhile, but I'll make that sacrifice to have her take him on.

Shannon said...

Well I know she says she is stopping in Portland about 2 hours or so away from me but from the sounds of it she is gonna be traveling down the 5 which means she will at least for a moment be right here LOL....will probably stop for food and gas if she's smart.

Lisa, aka AP said...

Well, if you email her and use the right address, maybe she'll stop and take some freebie shots.

Lisa, aka AP said...

You have a shower they could use, right?

Shannon said...

HAHAHA I do have a shower and a heavy duty washer and dryer :)

Lisa, aka AP said...

I suggest you email her, Shannon. In fact, I dare you.

Shannon said...

I dont think that would be a good idea LOL I would have to be on best behavior and after the month I have had I dont think I could do it LOL

:-D

That'll teach me to be away from Daisy!

Fascinating reading. I had not heard of Kiva before.

Lisa, aka AP said...

Kaytie, no, it's not too late! Take the pups!

Kiva is a very good organization...they do good work and I love that it provides a hand up and not a hand out in the true sense.

I'm going to be lucky if I don't get my ass banned on MWOP, but man, I just don't understand people sometimes...

KaytieJ said...

This Kiva site has me enthralled. Paying it forward and giving a hand up...I am intrigued.

Late night pondering. Does anyone else feel that it is coercion that employers give out special parking places, solicit each employee to donate from their paychecks, monitor those that give and who do not give? :::coughchokeUnitedWayCampaigns:::

I like to give, I prove that in my work life and in my personal life. However, having an employer do the above? I dig my heels in.

Late to the Bull(y) party. Still will give my 2 cents.

Bullying will not stop. With that said, it is up to each of us to teach our children, grandchildren that it is unacceptable. We also need to teach them ways and means to cope with it and let it roll off their backs. However, that does not mean to just put up with the bullying and turn a blind eye and be a pacifist.

Lisa, aka AP said...

Kaytie, I'm with you about the coercion thing and frankly, I think it puts a bad taste in people's mouths about charities. Ask all you like but don't give rewards for donations...some people simply can't afford to donate because they're too busy taking care of their own family situations without relying on charity, even though it may be easier. And, for the record, I have *no* issues with private charities and believe they should be able to donate to whoever they feel meets their requirements. And people should be able to make use of private charities with no shame, since the money is given freely. But rewarding donations alters the "given freely" part somewhat and that bothers me.

Lisa, aka AP said...

I agree. At least to a great extent...when you say "put up with the bullying and turn a blind eye and be a pacifist.", at what point are you drawing lines and what reciprocal behavior are you considering acceptable?

Shannon said...

I just want to say I am so disappointed in the anti bully's new post. I expected more with what the target of her anger is doing with the current posts that are up. I expected something more I guess then more of the pot meet kettle stuff...I guess I am just disappointed in both blogs :)

Lisa, aka AP said...

I've been disappointed in them both, too, Shannon. the thing is, I never expected a lot out of Tina's, but I *did expect better from MWOP. Ah, well, maybe things will spice up soon.

I need to change the post around here...anyone have any topics they want to discuss?

Shannon said...

Well I am glad I am not alone in that disappointment Lisa. I almost posted on Tina's what I did here but seriously it would probably send her completely over the edge if "big mouth nasty Shannon" made any kind of comment on her site, especially like that LOL

I did read a funny about Arnold and this love child of his.....apparently the woman did not get pregnant due to any actions on their parts. The way the article put it was that she "fell" pregnant.

Now I want to know how one falls pregnant because I do not want to fall that way ever.

Moderately interesting story here

Yes that would be Shannon's version or a tinyurl....no idea how to do such a thing LOL

But how does a computer release over 400 violent criminals when it is supposed to be finding inmates who pose no threat to society? Where were the people at that were in charge of the process?

Lisa, aka AP said...

If I fall pregnant, someone shoot me.

As for the prisoner release...leave it to California. *shakes head* I loved this part: "Law enforcement has made no attempt to track down the erroneously freed felons at this time, and officials say that they can only be returned if they are caught committing a crime." Niiiiiice.

And to make tiny urls, go to tinyurl.com. It's easy from there. :-)

Lisa - what do you think about the Casey Anthony trial so far? I was watching yesterday and it looked like her dad was doing all he could do to compose himself. Who knows what happened but to me it seems like she's throwing everyone else under the bus for what she did.

And, where is SUZZZZZZZZZZZZ?

Shannon said...

Margo I know I am not Lisa but I have been watching it on and off. I still have to say that the only person other then Caylee that I feel sorry for and see as a victim in this whole thing is George. That poor man has been subjected to so much in the last few years my heart just goes out to him. And as far as Casey throwing him and everyone under the bus....IMO that is the actions of a desperate person who knows that they are screwed.

Margo said...

"I know I am not Lisa" - lol

I remember when Cayley was missing and seeing George on TV. I just don't buy that she drown and he panicked and covered it up. He's a cop right? I think Casey is another Susan Smith - she wanted to be rid of Cayley so she could be free. It's so sad.

Shannon said...

I agree totally Margo. When I heard the defense talking about how it was all George's idea to cover up Caylee drowning in the pool so Cindy wouldnt know I nearly choked to death on my coffee. I mean seriously he was a detective for god sakes he knows that the chances of doing that successfully are pretty damned slim to none.

I am still torn if she intended to kill her or if it was just an accident of trying to keep her quiet and still while she partied on that night the fact is she died and it was covered up. I dont think anyone had anything to do with any of it besides Casey.

Lisa, aka AP said...

Awww, I love Hello Kitty. :-)

I swear, I can't get away from talking about this case, lol. I went into the trial with a completely open mind...I knew she was somehow involved in Caylee's death but really had no idea if it had been an accident or on purpose. I do and *still think there's a lot of misery in that family somewhere, somehow, even before Caylee died, but I can't figure out where. I have to admit, Baez had be doubting George momentarily there but agree with y'all about George covering Caylee's death up. He was a detective and would know it wouldn't work. He'd also know an accidental drowning won't get charges but hiding the body will. I'm not buying he did what they're saying, not any of it, except possibly hitting Casey on occasion. I'm back to thinking this was a bad, bad accident or drugging gone wrong, Casey panicked and hid the body, then had to go get it and rehide it elsewhere later on. Did her ex, Ricardo Morales, make y'all uncomfortable, too? He's a creepy thing.

Shannon said...

LOL I did have a difficult time watching him, Ricardo, Lisa. There was just something about him that was off but I am not exactly sure what. It certainly makes me wonder about Casey's judgement too with how many boyfriends she stayed with with Caylee...I mean really who does that? Who bounces around from man to man with their 2 year old?

Margo said...

I only saw clips of the last boyfriend. If I were that dude I would be pretty freaked out I dated that monster.

Lisa, aka AP said...

That last boyfriend, Tony, is a smartass but appears to be a really good guy. Seems decent and kind, just mouthy. I like him and he seems to still be freaked out and angry about Casey lying and acting as she did about her daughter. Ricardo was just damn weird. He was unduly nervous and shifty-acting, way too defensive, plus I'm bothered by the fact Caylee slept in the bed with them. That never happened with this last boyfriend...who does *that?

Shannon said...

That part Lisa, with them sharing the bed, yeah totally skeeved me out.

Ricardo did seem way more nervous and defensive then he really should have been while on the stand, it wasnt like he is on trial and you know damn well if he had anything or knowledge of what happened with Caylee, Casey would have already had his ass on the wall.

Tony seemed very honest and real. You could tell through the reading of the text messages that he is still angry with her. You cant blame him though because she told him nothing....through all of the time Caylee was missing she never even let on to HIM that there was anything wrong.

Margo said...

I would be angry too if I was dragged into a mess like this. orlandosentinel.com has a time line and there is a phone conversation on there between Casey from jail, her mom, brother and a friend. Casey is angry at them - unreal.

So, is this gossiping or discussing current affairs :)

Shannon said...

I think this is both gossiping and discussing :)

If I had been in his position I would have been livid as well. You know that when she would show up without Caylee he would have inquired as to where she was....mothers of toddlers generally dont drop them off with someone for weeks at a time. And then to have it all blow up that she is missing, Casey doesnt know where she is, and for her to say that the nanny took her, all while acting as if everything is normal and fine? Yeah I would have been pissed too.

Lisa, aka AP said...

Margo, I would love to think it's pure gossip...let's go with that, okay? ;-)

The Orlando Sentinel is a good source of info, as is wftv.com. The text messages Tony sent Casey were what really made me sort of love the boy, despite his smirky ways. Screw his own hurt, screw her...he wanted to know, first and foremost, "Where is Caylee?" And he's been the only friend or boyfriend outside of Lee's (brother) fiance, Mallory, who shows any real emotion about Caylee, at least so far.
