*tosses all the Daisy pantyhose and half-slips to the wind*

We've not gone to church for awhile now, but today is worth it.
We can wear pants now...see?  And I bet this guy can tell us where the best all-you-can-eat BBQ buffet is for lunch, too!

Morning all. Yesterday was our last band competition of the season. I have a band hangover.

How is everyone today?

Shannon said...

Oh to slap the family members who are all about the dress because of their Pentecostal religion so that they can actually pay attention to that video. But then again I guess that just goes in line with the pick and choose Christians....only gotta pay attention to what SOMEONE ELSE says is the important stuff.

Shannon said...

Mornin Jill....think it is a good day here today :)

StringOfRandomLetters said...

Are new people welcome to comment here?

StringOfRandomLetters said...

...not that I have anything to say .... ;)

twirldawg said...

StringOfRandomLetters of course you are welcome to post.

StringOfRandomLetters said...

Hey, thanks! I've been reading for a while. I think I wandered from BWOP or MWOP, not sure which. So yeah, you might know me from an occasional "Anon whateverhouritis:whateverminuteitis" comment on BWOP. I never had a name - too weird over there.

Shannon said...

LOL String everyone is allowed to post here :) Fresh meat....um I mean blood is always welcome hahahaha

StringOfRandomLetters said...

Um hhmmm. I'm fresh :)
(doing my best Mary Katherine impression)

Lisa said...

Hi, String, and of course you're welcome!

*yanks Shannon back*
You don't have any hard feelings about church stuff, do you? ;-)

Jill, when you say "our" band, whose band do you mean? Do you volunteer or are what?

StringOfRandomLetters said...

Oooh! Oooooh! Can I be the resident grammar police? Ack, now you probably don't want me.

(hands Shannon a nice ribeye fresh from the grill ... then wonders if she prefers it raw ... :-o )

Shannon said...

HAHAHA only slightly bruised and battered feelings about church stuff :) however I really did enjoy listening to what he had to say it made me chuckle quite a bit :)

I could be in trouble with grammar police LOL......and my ribeye I prefer to be a little bloody :)

Lisa said...

String, I suppose you can police whatever you like. It's not like anyone is going to stop anyone else from being an asshole around here. ;-)

Now I want steak. I like mine just a shade more done than moo...mmmm...with garlic bread to sop the blood up with...

StringOfRandomLetters said...

All in good fun, Shannon, all in good fun.
And on the ribeye, really, is there any other way?

I may have to get a new computer, with sound, or I will miss out on the videos :(

Shannon said...

Oh I think that pretty much any other way might be a crime...there must be BLOOD!!!! HAHAHAHA

StringOfRandomLetters said...

... smiling ... :-D
... in a kinda frightened way ...

StringOfRandomLetters said...

So, err, ahh, I am going to the store.
Yes, that's it, I'm going to the store.
For more steak.

I'll throw them in when I get back :-D

tumbleweedgirl said...

hi to new people. hi to not-new people. (=

Lisa said...

Aww, Rhys, I'm sorry about the sale not happening. Do y'all have it listed with a realtor?

Good morning, everyone!

StringOfRandomLetters said...

Morning y'all ! Wassup dogs?!? Hahaha :-))

Lisa said...

String, are you sure I don't know you? You remind me of someone...

twirldawg said...

Rhys sorry it didn't happen for you guys this time. I pray you get an offer soon.

Lisa I'm on the instructional staff with a local high school marching band. It's just something for fun and a little extra cash.

StringOfRandomLetters said...

Gulp ... who? I mean, I know you from MWOP as AP, but only in passing.
Be nice to me, I gave you steak :-D nice blood-rare steak.

Lisa said...

Lol, relax, String. I'm not even sure who...it was just a feeling. And thank you for the meat. :-D

Jill, that sounds like a lot of fun and to make a little extra money doing something you like? That's perfect!

tumbleweedgirl said...

thanks guys. sorry,it's been a long day doing tests and all for the baby girl. i realize she's almost three. she's still our baby.

Lisa said...

Oh, Robin. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
*giggles*

Rhys, of course she's still your baby. She always will be. :-) How's she doing?

Shannon said...

Rhys my son is 18 and he is still my baby :) that is one of those things with the youngest, it doesnt matter how old they are they are still the baby.

Robin said...

I just went and read the nonsense at the bully blog. All I have to say is...it's bullshit. Why Lauren decided to hang this on me is anyone's guess, but I will tell you--it isn't true. I rarely ever go there--mostly when I am bored, and was there when the insanity was being played out, and commented on it, but thought better of it and deleted it. I don;t comment there--why start in the middle of a meltdown?

So that's that. I have no intention of going there all hell's bells and defending myself because really, I am not offended, and I don't care. I have no investment in that place beyond the amusement factor.

Just a bit perplexed. And a bit amused. I'm giggling with you, Lisa. ;)

Lisa said...

Oooooh, boy. So, you're saying Tina lied? :-D

<--instigates all over the damn place

Beatrice just got her latest ophthalmological checkup and she's been released for 6 months...yay! I hate that damn trip (over 75 miles total) with her and am so glad we don't have to do it again until April!

Robin said...

"Oooooh, boy. So, you're saying Tina lied? :-D"

She either lied, or she's seriously confused. I have no idea what's in her email; I just know what I did and didn't post, and I didn't post the nonsense. **shrug**

Lisa said...

Well, whatever it is, it made for a bit of fun drama. :-)

tumbleweedgirl said...

wow. i'm clueless to drama!

glad it's not here, though.

lil girl is not doing super hot. off to children's tomorrow for some answers. i hope.

Robin said...

:( Rhys.

I hope, too.

StringOfRandomLetters said...

AP, you're welcome for the fake internet meat. You might "know" me from MWOP but it was almost a year ago. Ten years in internet time.
I don't get that bullies blog - does everyone know each other and it's all inside talk?
TWG, I read your little girl's blog (hope you don't mind) and wish you the best with your appointments.
My baby is still my baby too. Age 31 :-)

tumbleweedgirl said...

random

i don't mind. it's there to be read by whomever. thanks for caring.

and to everyone else - thanks lots as well.

we're packed. except for the special little stuffie friends of the kids. those are with them tonight. i swear - Z has a million of them!!!

Lisa said...

Awww, Rhys, I wish y'all could gave a break with the girlie. Hopefully you can get more answers to get you pointed in the direction of "really good" again on this trip.

"I don't get that bullies blog - does everyone know each other and it's all inside talk?"

A bit, yes. Shannon, Tina, Robin *grins* and I know one another from the OHIH days. I think some others there are from OHIH, as well, but using different names. A lot of the ugly background you see discussed comes from that time. But the rest of the people there seem to be primarily from MWOP.

Anonymous said...

I may be one of the only one's not from MWOP or from the OHIH :), I found BWOP on JM's community website and was curious and went over there :)

Lisa said...

Mama P, you missed out on a lot of fun, then, at least from OHIH. ;-)

Shannon said...

I still think back fondly of the OHIH days :) they were crazy but there were a lot of fun days as well.

StringOfRandomLetters said...

@Shannon: Like the earlier days of MWOP? It seems to be more restrictive now, and no matter how much people give their internet support to other MWOPers who ask for it, I dunno, it's just ... different. And not as witty, and sometimes meaner, in a repressed kind of way.

Shannon said...

Exactly String. Sure there was some nit picking and bickering but it wasnt the sole focus of the site. A lot of the initial information MWOP got was from OHIH, it had nothing to do with the super sleuthing of MWOPers...It was a lot more light hearted in a way not so damn serious.

twirldawg said...

I miss the heyday of OHIH...

StringOfRandomLetters said...

I pick nits with the best of 'em when I want to, so I can't object to that like some do.
And give me some witty snarkicism any day :-)
But yeah, some take it way too seriously. I get it when they're fresh from sheepledom, but after a while you gotta just let loose.

Do people know who MWOP1 was? Or is it a big secret to everyone? Surely some OHIH people must have some idea.

I came in later, not until maybe July or August last year.

Shannon said...

We have bounced around who MWOP1 was but dont know that it has ever been figured out for sure or at least if it has been not revealed :)

The nit picking I get to a point but they really do go to far with it most of the time. Seriously I dont care about her hair or her clothes or even her weight really.....she has 5 kids for pete's sake....I only had 2 and I know I really didnt care what I looked like to the world most of the time LOL

StringOfRandomLetters said...

I'm sure it does go too far. There have always been people whose comments I like and people whose comments I can barely stand to read. I try to skip the ones I don't care for. I don't always succeed but I try.
I hear ya on the weight/clothes/hair. Just lately I'm getting some time for myself after several decades of parenthood. It seems it doesn't end when they're 18 - who knew?

Lisa said...

OHIH was something I'd never run across on the internet, and that's from someone who has spent many years on forums and such. It was just something completely different and I, too, miss it. Even the bad parts, sort of.

As for MWOP1, I know who the mod was (by name only, nothing terribly personal about her) and while I will not tell that here, I will say that if she was ever on OHIH, she wasn't a regular and was no one I remembered. I think she said she had lurked there some, though. Not sure on that, but I think. She was, in effect, a complete stranger to me, although one I came to like and respect very much based on some communication we had at one point. She ran a good ship over there and I'm still sorry she left, although I understand why she did.

And I think JM looks fine for being the mom of 5 young kids and, let's face it, probably stressed and depressed to boot.

StringOfRandomLetters said...

Interesting, and thanks, AP. It doesn't matter to me who MWOP1 was, but I do wonder if she is ever around MWOP now. I kind of doubt it. The mood around there is so different. I thought everything ran well while she had it, a whole lot better than afterwards. To me, Anja seems okay, but manages/controls more than MWOP1 did. I have no idea who Anja is either, not anyone I recall seeing before the group of mods took it.
Anyways ...
I do wonder if MWOP is going down. It may be cyclical or related to its subjects cycles, but it seems a shadow of its former self.
Sorry to be so long and boring :-P

Lisa said...

I have no idea about Anja either, String. She hda it in better shape than it has been since MWOP1, but lately, I'm not sure what she's doing over there. Whatever it is, I hope it works...she does seem to be good in the accuracy of what she puts out, at least.

And I think most blogs, outside of the big ones like PW, do have cycles and most eventually die out. I actually think blogging in general is dying out, which is why the big ones are trying to branch into other fields.

It's Robin Again said...

Morning, chickadees. I tried to read over at BWOP, but I don't get it, and that moronic ::giggle:: crap makes me want to kick a kitten.

Rhys - so sorry about the house sale falling through.

Lisa said...

I weighed my options this morning and I could choose between reading at BWOP, standing in a welfare line or replacing flooring from my last water-adventure. I chose reading BWOP...it seemed to be the path of least resistance. ;-)

There are definitely some people there who don't lie Shannon and me very much. They'd probably not like you, either, Robin. And speaking of Robins...R2, should I ask Tina to forward that email of your comment to me so we can prove you didn't do what she said you did?

Shannon said...

They dont like us much Lisa. They wouldnt like Robin either, but what ya gonna do. I mean they have top notch current information about my family from my blog with the skeevy photos that I havent posted on in over a year LOL

tumbleweedgirl said...

it's like a secret club! i have no clue who-what-where. but it makes me smile.

we're doing ok here. the bird-girl is on O2 and trailing cords again. but she's awfully cute too. so i suppose there's an advantage...

thinking up cute hats and the like for her little face. and bags. girliness is genetic or something, but she did *not* get it from me!

how's the life of someone out there???

Shannon said...

I am glad to hear she is doing well with the O2...I know you hate the cords but I see you are learning to like them more cuz they are helping. And she is too darn cute for sure

Its not a secret club girl but it sure is a crazy one LOL

tumbleweedgirl said...

i like the cords ok. i just had gotten used to *not* having them. it's a bit rough going back. mostly for lia. she gets frustrated b/c they get caught on stuff.

i am totally brainstorming on ideas for a lightweight wagon that she could pull around with her that would bring tankie with her. that way she's less limited.

ideas? (=

Shannon said...

what about a one of those little playskool things? do they have such a thing?

I will brainstorm around and see if I can find any inspiration because that would be an awesome idea....little sweetness needs mobility

Shannon said...

I found this that might be something that she could use?

i'm gonna die from cuteness

wow!

i love it!!! i'm gonna mash the budget for a while and show it to nana and poppa. you know - she's got a birthday coming and i had *no* ideas. this is a great one. also b/c she likes taking her friends for rides too. this girl is just like zaya - millions of stuffie friends to snuggle.

and baby washcloths? did you know they make fabulous teeny blankies for friends? no? well, i am happy to provide you with this service. (=

tumbleweedgirl said...

it seems like i could also try to make something like this, but with a little more basket-room:

http://www.amazon.com/Plan-Toys-342600-Shopping-Cart/dp/B000S5URGE/ref=pd_sbs_t_53

i like the swivel on it too and that it's adjustable and slim. on the cuteness factor - fairly low..

Shannon said...

Oh that is super cute too.

I didnt realize that it was so challenging trying to find something that a toddler could manage to move about LOL so many of the big wagons to put them in but not much for them to pack stuff around.

twirldawg said...

Rhys saw your request for bling ideas on FB last night. Could you fashion a jacket for the tank that is velcro and can wrap around the tank? I've been thinking about it all morning, it could be like a tank cozy.

I don't know what to say about BWOP. I am amused that they are spin off of each other and the original site is Television Without Pity which has nothing to do with mommy bloggers.

tumbleweedgirl said...

jill - i like that idea. i could even make different kinds of cozies? then she could pick. (=

shannon - i figured it'd be easy to find a wagon, but then you add in her age and her stability needs, and it gets tricky!

i'm going to keep on looking. definitely i'm a fan of wooden, they will hold up better and are not so tippy.

Shannon said...

I think wood is a very good plan for Lia. Plus with using it to carry her tank you can strap it to the side much easier because it isnt all smooth and rounded like the plastic ones are.

Lisa said...

"i like the swivel on it too and that it's adjustable and slim. on the cuteness factor - fairly low.."

Rhys, I love the idea of the one from Amazon...it seems like it would be super-easy to make one and you could amp the cuteness up by using glitter paint or something, maybe painting her name on it. And what about a pretty bike basket attached? You could safely secure some fabric flowers to that, even.

My other thought is, what about just an old-fashioned little girl's baby carriage? Something similar to this: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3425314

Lisa said...

Rhys, still thinking about Lia's and her need for a wagon...I'm concerned too much wood may become too heavy for her to push or pull. Obviously, you know that better than I, but felt like I better mention it. The baby carriage has 4 wheels instead of 3, which might make up for the stability wood-weight would offer, while remaining light enough for her to bring along.

Evening Daisies.
Took R to a Trick or Treat event today. We live in such a funny area. There are rarely Halloween events actually on Halloween. We went to an event last year and now I can't find any info about it this year. So confusing. It would be easier if we lived in an actual subdivision.

So how is everyone else tonight?

tumbleweedgirl said...

i wanted to say i'm here too. mostly.

lisa

i liked your suggestions. it's a mixed bag for us. too lightweight and the carriage/thingie would allow lia to fall. she partially uses whatever she pushes for some stability. too heavy, and it's too heavy. that was a brilliant sentence, i know.

the lower center of balance is also good because it allows her mobility.

we're looking at some possible budgetary things that will allow us to move and still sell the house in a slower fashion. i am sure i can squish our budget even more. (=

jill

we have no subdivision out here. i forgot it was halloween. lame, i'm sure.

we just got back from boise again. we're tired.

good night!!!

I am downloading photo's off facebook, 1 stinkin picture at a time.

Apparently rumor has it that the only way your external hard drive will work is if you actually use it, I learned this the hard way. 3 month ago my computer crashed. I lost every photo I had from Sept of 10 to Aug 2011. The entire first year of my Babies life. So, I'm trying to recover the ones on fb, good way to spend a Saturday night! or not
